  1. Marvel made a huge splash last year with the release of Spider-Man, and they're planning to do something similar this year with an Iron Man game. Better yet, it's going to be a VR title this year, so you'll be able to play Marvel's Iron Man VR with PSVR and a pair of PlayStation Move controllers. This trailer should give you a better idea of the gameplay - As you can see in the trailer, you'll literally be able to become Tony Stark and control the suit. Move your head around, learn to fly, control the arms (using the move controllers); all that good stuff. It looks freaking amazing! The game is being developed by Camouflaj, and the studio's founder Ryan Payton said that the game will explore Tony Stark' story, and you'll face off against Marvel supervillain Ghost, the person behind the hacked Stark drones. The developer was apparently working on the game in secret for years, and the HUD on Iron Man's visor was really hard to get right. via Gfycat Marvel's Iron Man VR is slated for release in 2019, and we simply can't wait to suit up.
  2. An integral part of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years, Kieron Pollard hasn't quite come to the party as far as the ongoing season is concerned. While the likes of Andre Russell, Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo have made an impact, Pollard has struggled to get going in the initial stage of the tournament. The right-handed batsman couldn't score more than 21 runs as Mumbai succumbed to a 37-run loss in their opening match. While Mumbai bounced back in the second match with a six-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Pollard was only able to add a six-ball five to his team. The big West Indian's struggles continued in the third match where he was dismissed for a nine-ball seven against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Twitter/@IPL Struggling with the bat and not getting a chance to bowl, Pollard's batting slump attracted immense criticism, with the cricket pundits suggesting he should be dropped for the crucial tie against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 3rd April. But, Rohit Sharma and Mumbai's team management continued to trust Pollard and the Trinidadian didn't disappoint. Repaying the faith of his captain, Pollard was part of a carnage that was finished by swashbuckling Hardik Pandya. While the West Indies cricketer slammed a seven-ball 17, Pandya ran riot during his eight-ball 25. The duo hammered Dwayne Bravo all around the park to score a staggering 29 runs off the final over. In the fifth over, the 31-year-old was stationed at the point boundary when Suresh Raina slapped Jason Behrendorff's length ball ferociously in his direction. But, timing his jump to perfection, the Mumbai all-rounder produced enough airtime (something that would surely make Michael Jordan feel proud) that it allowed him to pluck the ball in thin air during an incredible one-handed effort. While Mumbai brought an end to Chennai's three-match winning streak after an emphatic 37-run triumph, Pollard's unbelievable fielding effort earned him plaudits on the social media. Helps to be tall! 3. Having the right tools in your arsenal and a well-thought-out routine is pretty much all it takes to get a great shave every time, which is why it's quite easy to shave well. However, shaving smart is another matter altogether. Having a few tried and tested tricks in your playbook can not only elevate your grooming game, but they will also cut down on the time you spend in order to look your absolute best. After all, no one really wants to spend more time in front of the bathroom mirror than absolutely necessary. That's precisely why we've put together the following cheat sheet of life-enhancing shaving hacks that will get the job done, no matter how trying the situation may be. Stay Well-Groomed At All Times With These 5 Shaving Hacks Hack 1: Shower First, Shave Later © Flickr During the hectic morning routine that all of us are familiar with, it can be tempting to rush through everything else before finding solace in a nice warm shower. While you can do that with most activities, your morning shave is something you ought to be indulging in AFTER you step out of the shower. Not only will the hot water from the shower soften your facial scruff, but it will also open up your pores, thereby dramatically reducing the risk of nicks and cuts. We're sure you're already using the best razor for the job, but this small hack will make its job even easier. Hack 2: Think Outside The Shaving Kit © Shutterstock Your shaving kit might contain all types of razors, but they can't help you when your trusty shaving cream runs out midway through a shave. Or maybe it's a particularly chilly morning and you don't want to feel icy cool menthol on your face. Do you forego the shave and pass off your new facial hair as 'designer stubble?' Well, there's no need to do that - in a situation like this, swapping out your shaving cream for a hair conditioner works a treat. In fact, because the conditioner moisturises your skin, it might even result in a less drying shave! Hack 3: Respect Your Razor © Flickr One of the most common grooming mistakes most men commit is to use the same old razor week after week for their daily shave. While this act might save a couple of minutes, and a few bucks, the negatives far outweigh the positives. Even the best razor blade becomes dull over time if you keep using it, which means you'll have to drag it over the same area more than once to get the job done. This leaves you open to skin irritations and ingrown hairs that will make you regret not binning that blade earlier. However, if you're really hellbent on prolonging the life span of your razor, holding it under the tap to clear out the blockage isn't the only way. Use your hair dryer to give your blades a blast, which will remove the hair stuck in the gaps and preserve their sharp edge without running the risk of oxidation. You can even use your hairdryer on the best beard trimmers out there, ensuring that you get the most bang for your buck. Hack 4: Give Toilet Paper A Miss © Flickr No matter how long you've been shaving for and how steady your hand is, there's always the threat of annoying little nicks and cuts to contend with. After all, you're literally running a blade over your face! Using styptic pencils and alum blocks are the best ways to deal with them, but let's face it (pun not intended!), they're never really on the top of our shopping lists, are they? That's why a quick home remedy for the same is worth its weight in gold. You can use wet toilet paper to stop the bleeding, as long as you remember to remove it before you step out of the house. However, a much better alternative would be to apply some lip balm over the wound, which helps create a seal to stop the bleeding and acts as an invisible plaster. Hack 5: Ice, Ice Baby © Shutterstock Taking a hot shower is the first step before selecting your best safety razor to start shaving with, but cold water is what you need to finish the job. The hot water softens your bristles and opens up your pores, but you also need to close them back up again. Washing your face with cold water does just that, firming up your skin in the process to help it retain that smooth texture. If the water coming through your tap is too warm, add a handful of ice cubes to a bowl of water and give your face a few refreshing splashes.
  4. It's that time of the year again, folks. The 61st Academy Awards, also known as the legendary Oscars, was held and the best in the business showed up in all their glory. While it's hard for men to compete with the glitz and the glamour that the ladies bring to the red carpet, they're not so far behind. From head-to-toe velvet to sequin trains, the red carpet had it all. The event has a black tie dress code, leaving lesser room for experiment. While there were a few classic tuxedos, a few edgier outfits also grabbed the spotlight this year. Here's our list of the 10 best dressed men at the Oscars 2019: 1. Jason Momoa © Getty Images Wearing a pink velvet suit designed by the late Karl Lagerfeld for Fendi, Jason Momoa looked classy AF. No one does it like Aquaman! 2. Chris Evans © Getty Images Cap wore a light blue velvet dinner jacket by Salvatore Ferragamo to the award show. Who else pulls off blue better than Captain America himself anyway? 3. Chadwick Boseman © Getty Images The Black Panther himself wore a black sequin jacket by Givenchy with a train and Bulgari jewelry. We're team Chadwick forever, just like Wakanda. 4. Billy Porter © Getty Images Actor Billy Porter wore a custom tuxedo gown by Christian Siriano and looked fabulous. It's 2019 and gender fluid clothing is definitely here to stay. 5. Michael B. Jordan © Getty Images Michael B. Jordan looked fine as hell in a midnight blue velvet dinner jacket by Tom Ford. Now that's the 'Creed' we believe in. 6. Paul Rudd © Getty Images Paul Rudd looked downright classy in a blue Canali suit with a bowtie. Never underestimate the power of blue, Ant-Man would agree. 7. Henry Golding © Getty Images The 'Crazy Rich Asians' star showed up in a custom Ralph Lauren Purple Label tuxedo. He opted for a white bowtie instead of a classic black one and made the look understated yet edgy. 8. Nicholas Hoult © Getty Images Nicholas Hoult looks chic in an asymmetric all-black Dior Homme outfit. The striking jacket has asymmetric pleat detailing which is a refreshing change to a classic tuxedo we didn't know we needed. 9. David Oyelowo © Getty Images Jewel tones never did anyone wrong. David Oyelowo rocks an all velvet green tuxedo by Etro at the red carpet and 'be-dazzled' everyone. 10. Bradley Cooper © Getty Images All things aside, a classic tuxedo is a fail-safe red carpet stunner. Bradley Cooper looked dapper in custom Tom Ford tuxedo. We're still in this look's 'Hangover' (excuse the puns please). Congratulations to all the award winners and these men who blessed our eyes with their style!
  5. (The quotations for this story was taken from an interview originally conducted by Ravi Gupta for MensXP Hindi.) Love - /lÊv/ - Noun. An intense feeling of deep affection. Love - /lÊv/ - Verb. Feel deep affection or sexual love for (someone). Those are the standard definitions of love that one is likely to find in any given dictionary picked off the shelf. Some will say that for the most part, love oscillates between two parts of speech, either written between pages and spelled out in black ink, or to be found between the warm and ruffled sheets that say it all. Yet, every now and then we stumble across those who hold a very different definition of love. One which is expressed through abstractions, such as how their lover's smile makes their heart skip a beat, or how the silent support and company of the beloved feels like the greatest prophesy of love. © Vaibhav & Parag Love often shows up uninvited, takes away our breath and is such an invigorating feeling, we end up craving for the next wave to hit us, much before the high from first one fades. It's maddening and heartening all at once, much like the brewing emotion that ebbs and flows within our cardiac valves, almost threatening to spill over and drown us with its depth of feeling. The bottomline being, there is no set definition of love. Each one of us experiences it differently, in different forms, in varying situations and with equally different kinds of people. But that is not to say that any of those forms of love are not worth celebrating. Much like the ardent love that Vaibhav and Parag share between them. © Vaibhav & Parag 32-year-old Vaibhav Jain was born and brought up in Delhi, before he moved to the US to pursue his masters, upon completing his BDS degree. Indian society's intolerance and lack of sympathy towards the LGBTQ community forced Vaibhav to hide his true identity and later leave his home state in search of a safe haven. It was back in 2012 when Vaibhav saw his future-husband Parag for the first time during a Pride Parade. There was an instant feeling of recognition, and Vaibhav sought to further it. He looked up Parag on Facebook and sent him a private message. As the two gradually began to get to know each other, Vaibhav asked Parag out for dinner at a Thai restaurant. © Vaibhav & Parag Though the date turned out to be a mess since the food at the restaurant was a disaster, Vaibhav tells us that regardless of the unappetising food, their first date remains truly memorable. The two spent hours talking, and when they finally left, it started raining. The pitter-patter of the rain inspired Vaibhav to serenade to his favourite singer Mohammed Rafi's song 'tere mere sapne'. This is how they ended up spending 6 hours together on their first date. Now while their innocent love slowly began to bloom, the distance that separated them began to seem like a bother. Hence, one day Parag suggested that Vaibhav moved-in with him. This was even before either of them had confessed their love for each other, which made Vaibhav a little hesitant to make the move. But as their shared understanding began to grow stronger, Vaibhav slowly started the process of moving in with Parag. © Vaibhav & Parag As time passed, both Vaibhav and Parag began to fall deeper in love, and eventually Parag confessed his feelings to Vaibhav. A moment, as Vaibhav tells us, “that still makes me blush.” However, something continued to eat him even as Parag's love filled his heart with warmth. The discrimination that Vaibhav faced in India over the years left deep-rooted psychological impact which prevented him from openly welcoming the affection that Parag showered on him. Once this diagnosis was reached, Parag stood strong beside Vaibhav and helped him believe and put his trust on their relationship and what they shared together. © Vaibhav & Parag Now, while Parag had already come out to his parents 15 years ago, he wished for Vaibhav to come out to his family as soon as possible. As the desire for a future together began to grow stronger, Parag's insistence became more urgent. Vaibhav was also convinced that he wanted to go public with his relationship, and began looking for the right opportunity to break the news to his parents. Finally when he landed an internship with WHO in Switzerland, Vaibhav asked his parents to join him for the trip. It was on the last night before Vaibhav's parents left for India, that he decided to come out to his parents. “I don't like girls, and I don't wish to marry one either. I am gay and I have known it since I was 14-15 years old,” Vaibhav told his parents. While both his parents were shocked by the news, they offered Vaibhav their unconditional love and support. His mother even remarked that she must have failed somehow as a parent – not because he was gay, but because he didn't feel safe telling her his truth for so long. Vaibhav confessed that, “though my parents couldn't sleep peacefully that night, but I have been sleeping peacefully ever since that night.” © Vaibhav & Parag Cut to 2019 and the couple have already been legally married for over a year. However, when it comes to desi, big fat Indian weddings Vaibhav shares that, “ I believe in the traditional Indian wedding, and that's why Parag and I plan to get married is the desi style on 29th and 30th March this year. Since both of us are Jain we plan to follow the traditional wedding rituals and follow it up with a reception back in India.” Getting married isn't their only major plan for the near future. Vaibhav shares that, “I love kids. And though people are quick to suggest adoption for gay couples, we have decided to opt for surrogacy. That is not to say that I am opposed to the idea of adoption, but it's just that we want to try the other possibility. And as for the struggles of parenthood, I think Parag and I are ready for all of it.” © Vaibhav & Parag Talking about the possibility of officially creating a life with his husband in the future, Vaibhav has only one message to share with everyone. “Every human being is precious, and no one should be discriminated against. Everybody deserves to live and the society needs to understand it. If my 85-year-old grandmother can accept our love and bless us, then why can't others do the same? Even if the society fails to understand us, I would still urge others like me to come out and face their truth. If I can do it, why can't you?”
  6. We attach a significant amount of personally identifiable data to our social media profiles daily. I regularly use social media to share photos of my kids and holidays. I post my personal thoughts on products I've used and TV shows I've watched. I'm even tagged in location-based check-ins. It's all there in my news feed for anyone to see. I'm not alone. More and more of us live our lives through the prism of social media. We share things we love, things we loathe and things that make us laugh. With just a few clicks, you can discover a lot of information about a person. More often than not, you can see where they work, where they live and what school they went to. Scrolling through their timeline often reveals their stance on hot topics such as gun control, the current President and other recent headline news items. This information follows you when you join a Facebook Group. Your past Tweets are always available to trawl through. Indeed, there may be some groups that you decide you cannot post in as people would be able to identify you. This is particularly true for stigmatised conditions, such as financial help, illness and mental health. After all, if you were seeking help with a large amount of debt or managing an embarrassing medical condition, you wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that work colleagues, friends and family could read your posts. The benefit of anonymity for stigmatised topics "Forums can all offer some initial anonymity, a community, and information that geographically proximate others may not have. What stigma-related forums uniquely offer is that the anonymity protects those who are not ready to be publicly associated with sensitive topics; the community helps to neutralise the “spoilage” of identity that accompanies stigma." (1) Unlike social media where reams of personal data is willingly added, and which can identify you to other online users, forums allow you to add as much information as you are comfortable with. Support communities for mental health and illness flourish using forums for this reason. An individual may feel devalued in society and unwilling to share their condition over social media. "Nowadays people can both avoid and proactively cope with this devaluation by turning to online forums populated by others who share the same devalued group membership." (1) Forums offer a safe space for these individuals to seek and receive support from others without disclosing large amounts of identifiable data. Allowing a level of anonymity encourages more people to register and over time, they will develop ties with other users. For an individual with a stigmatized condition, a forum may be a real life-line in coping with the condition as face-to-face support is often limited. Adrial Dale, who owns Herpes Opportunity agrees. "In order for us to truly be able to work through the shame that stigma can trigger, it's absolutely vital for us to feel safe to open up and tell all. Through opening up, we not only get to share with an understanding and compassionate community (which normalizes our shared experiences), but we're also able to begin to release what has felt like our own solitary burden to bear. Then a magical thing can happen ... an alchemical process that transforms shame into an opportunity for connection. An opportunity for us to be accepted for who we are *behind* the thick wall of shame. And ultimately, an opportunity to accept ourselves. Especially in these days of the internet not feeling so private (even in places where it absolutely should be), having true privacy and anonymity is paramount for communities like Herpes Opportunity. Anything other than that is grounds for paranoia and holding back from sharing ourselves. (In fact, just the other day someone messaged me asking "Are private messages really private?") Fear can lead to closing ourselves off, which can lead to isolation and paranoia, which can lead to a downward spiral of self-loathing and depression. On the other hand, safety, connection and compassion creates an an okayness with the nitty-grittiness of what it means to be human." The benefit of expressing a new identity "People may strategically express identities when they think they will not be punished, and/or connect them to an audience that is valued." (1) It is arguably true that not so many years ago, tech-related communities were very much male-dominated, with female contributions valued less. Forums allow a way to create a new identity that is either gender-neutral thus allowing the male users to assume a gender, or overtly male to ensure their contributions are evaluated on merit, and not with any gender bias. Christopher Marks who owns Nano-Reef has seen this first hand. "During a discussion with a women’s group in our generally male dominant hobby, a number of women had expressed the benefit of having an anonymous username and profile when asking for help and advice on forums, they receive equal help without the unfortunate gender bias or belittling that can sometimes happen in real life when seeking the same help in person." Invision Community's Jennifer has also experience of this on her own community; RPG Initiative. "RPG Initiative is a community for all roleplayers. We focus on all text-based roleplaying forms that are hosted on the internet. We encourage roleplayers to find each other, discuss roleplay and grow as collaborative writers here at the Initiative in a safe environment." Jennifer relies on, and encourages anonymity. She knows that because her site is predominately female, some female users identify as male to increase the chances of getting others to collaborate with them. "Male players are rare, in fact, I recently ran a poll on my site and of those that responded to it less than 15% of them are male (or identify as such). So this gets them more attention and in turn, more people that want to write with them." Jennifer explains how anonymity is critical to her site's growth. "Anonymity is a difficult thing to accomplish in a small niche like mine, but it's sort of like a small town where everyone knows everyone, and they likely know all of your secrets. So enforcing rules to preserve anonymity is really important to my community and me. This includes prohibiting the "naming of names" or the "site" that the drama is coming from when seeking for advice or help. This doesn't negate that people may know the existing situation or people involved because they are also involved or know some of the people involved, but it helps cut down on the drama and the spread of negativity and false information about people." With a forum community, you can truly be who you want to be. This is not so with social media where others can create bias based on your gender, looks or topical preferences. Together, together "In her early work, Turkle argued that the internet provided myriad positive opportunities for self-transformation, but more recently, she argues that the explosion in social media options has led us to develop superficial, emotionally lazy but instantly available virtual relationships." (1) It's hard to argue against this statement when you consider the content that predominates social media. And often an endless stream of self-focused content. "Indeed, we provide clear evidence that online forums afford users a way of being genuinely “together, together”, as opposed to what Turkle calls “alone together.”(1) The bottom line is that it has been proven that allowing a degree on anonymity increases engagement across all niches, but especially those that are built to support those with stigmatised conditions. These forums have a greater sense of community and depth than those built on social media. When you allow your members to take back control of their privacy, you are empowering them to make decisions about what to share. Given how eroded our privacy is in our modern always-connected world, this is a precious gift. If you are looking to create a new community then consider this before choosing your community platform. 7. For most of us here in India, travelling finds an unwitting connection to chai. Traversing through the country's picturesque landscape, these heavenly places serving steaming cups of chai can be found in quaint villages high up in the hills, or under the thatched roofs of a dilapidated chai ki tapri along the highway. Yet, no matter where we happen to chance upon one, it never fails to fill our heart with joy at the very sight of it. © Facebook Now, imagine such a tea-stall located in a small village in some part of this country, shouldering the weight of an elderly couple's ardent dreams to explore the length and breadth of not just India, but the entire world. Yes, you are right. This almost seems like an impossible dream when you hear about it at first, but guess what, there exists such a tea-stall and such a couple who have managed to realise their dreams of travelling around the world, by running a tea-stall! © Facebook Vijayan and Mohana, both in their late 60s, are from Kochi in Kerala, but are better known to the world as the “globetrotting couple” who travel around the world by selling tea. Vijayan and Mohana have been running a nondescript tea-stall in Kochi, called the 'Sree Balaji Coffee House' for the past 40 years, and the minimal earnings from that business have allowed them to travel to over 23 countries so far! © Facebook How do they manage to make all this happen you ask? Well, the key to their success is the couple's undying grit and desire. Vijayan and Mohana refuse to be cowed down by the financial restraints or the logistic trivia that might hamper their bigger plans. The elderly couple saves from whatever little they make at their shop, and rely on small loans to fund their travels. After saving Rs. 300 every day for decades, they used it along with their meagre income and bank loans, to explore 23 countries! It was back in 1963 when Vijayan began selling tea in the streets to fulfil the travel dreams he shared with his wife. © Facebook Singapore, New York and Switzerland are some of his most favourite places. The couple has been to Brazil, Argentina, Peru, USA besides many others, but currently, their plan is to check out Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Greenland Norway. There is simply not stopping this duo! For Vijayan, travelling is all about collecting experiences and learning about other people and their culture. Vijayan marvels over the beauty of landscapes and the kinds of people they meet during their travel. © Instagram Their philosophy is simple. Keeping their nest destination in sight, the couple continues to save Rs 300 every day, and keep their expenses to the minimum (they work both as worker and manager of their tiny shop). While on their trip, they spend very little on unnecessary things. Still, the loans they take keep getting piled up, and after every trip, they spend the next three years trying to repay that debt. Their story might be laden with a lot of struggles, but Vijayan and Mohana don't plan to give up as long as their arms and legs are moving. This couple is proof that no amount of limitations are big enough to stop someone from realising their dreams if they set their heart to it.
  8. There used to be a time when Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte was a completely unknown name. Back in the day, with zero videos of her bouts online and not even a single news channel covering her progress, if you'd told her that one day, she is going to be ranked number 1 in the whole world by the International Boxing Federation (AIBA), she would have knocked you out cold with an uppercut for mocking her. #WWCHs2018 Finals - Light Fly (48kg)@MangteC (IND) defeats Mi Hyang Kim (PRK) and becomes 2018 AIBA World Champion!! Congratulations Mary ð¥ð¥ðª#AIBAFamily #ChampsBornHere @BFI_official pic.twitter.com/wlSLmbJHvB — AIBA (@AIBA_Boxing) November 24, 2018 When she was only 13, Mary knew that she wanted to become a professional boxer. Despite her soon-to-be coach Leishangthem Ibomcha Singh, who was responsible for bringing up around 50 international medal winners from within the state of Manipur, constantly challenging her, and her aspirations of becoming a pugilist, Mary, like any stubborn teenager, stuck to what she wanted. Living in an insurgency-bound Imphal, Mary's journey to success was full of constant terror and adversities. With endless reports of kidnappings, shootings and bombings ever since Manipur's merging with India, the idea of 'do whatever your heart says' wasn't exactly a number one priority for the people living there. In fact, the situation was so bad up there, that even Mary Kom's own father-in-law was murdered by the insurgents soon after she got married to Onler Kom in 2005. While there's no denying Mary Kom's hard work and raw passion for the sport that has taken her this far in life, it is Onler Kom, Mary's husband who has been her anchor during the experience. Full of compassion and regard for her wife, Onler has never backed out of supporting her dreams. “I knew her dreams and was ready to help her in every way," Onler told The Times of India. “I had my own dreams, but when I came to know her it changed… I married her for her simplicity and her willingness to become a successful sportswoman.” View this post on Instagram “A man's success is measured by what his wife and children say about him. Money and accomplishments mean nothing if you let your home fail.” With my hubby @onler_kom #travelling @selfclicked #blessings A post shared by Mary Kom (@mcmary.kom) on Dec 5, 2018 at 3:37am PST Despite the support, what a lot of people do not realise is how much being a mother of three can take a toll on your professional career. With a lot of extra responsibilities on her shoulders as compared to any of her opponents along with the growing age, the 35-year-old, somehow, manages not only to take out time to train herself but also to train nearly 130 young and aspiring students at the Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation, an academy initiated by the boxer and her husband to inspire, motivate and train India's finest pugilists of all time. “This Boxing Academy is a reality of my dream of creating a Centre of excellence to produce the best boxing champions for India,” Mary Kom conveys her message on the website. Mary once said that there lies a story of struggle behind every medal that she's ever won. In her long, successful and inspirational career, the Arjuna and Padma Shri awardee has made and broken various records whilst becoming the most successful boxer in the history of Women's World Championships by winning a record 6th gold medal last year. Recently ranked Number One in the world, Mary Kom has no intentions of throwing in the towel just yet as she has already begun preparing for Tokyo Olympics 2020.

  10. I knew the second I watched the trailer that this movie was going to wreck me, and boy was I not wrong. I was still on a high as I stepped out of the hall after two hours, and as the song goes, it “sent shivers down my spine.” Being a Queen fan, I knew I was in for a treat. Yea, yea I read some reviews trashing the movie, but I have never given a damn about critics and I was not going to start this time. And my faith was rewarded. via GIPHY I think my headline in itself gives away the fact that this copy does contain SPOILERS. So please, proceed with caution and do not abuse my ancestors in the comment section for having not warned you. So, getting down to it, here are 8 moments from the movie that knocked the wind out of my lungs and left me a complete mess. 1. Opening 20th Century Fox Electric Guitar Riff The same old track, but with an electric guitar. Oh, my God! It totally set the tone of the movie and I was already psyched. 2. The Recording Of Bohemian Rhapsody & The Argument With Ray Foster © 20th Century Fox The second Freddie plays the opening bars of the song on his piano, in a little room away from everyone, in a desperate attempt to create something different…I kid you not, I got goosebumps. A bit of the recording of this song was shown in the trailer and yes, the 'GALILEO' part is still funny when you watch it on the big screen. Watching Roger Taylor (Ben Hardy) lose his shit as Freddie (Rami Malek) keeps asking him to raise his pitch is f*cking hilarious. The effects they add to the song, while having tons of fun recording, takes you into the dynamics of the band and how much they loved doing what they did. via GIPHY The scene that turned the entire hall into a laughing mess was definitely the one with record executive Ray Foster (Mike Myers), who wants Queen to make commercial music and has issues with their new song 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Of course, the most iconic exchange happens between these two men over the duration of the song. “It goes on forever, six bloody minutes.” To which Freddie replies, “I pity your wife if you think six minutes is forever.” BURN! 3. Freddie Coming Out To Mary © 20th Century Fox One of the most emotionally charged scenes in the movie. Freddie, who was already married to Mary Austin (Lucy Boynton, who is also Malek's real-life girlfriend) struggles with his inner conflict and finally blurts out that he thinks he is bisexual, to which Mary replies, “You're gay, Freddie.” © 20th Century Fox What makes this scene so raw and powerful is that it highlights the ever-so-vulnerable yet unbreakable bond these two have. What they feel for each other goes beyond love, and we see it clearly in this scene, as they try to grapple with harsh times. 4. The Creation Of 'We Will Rock You' via GIPHY The band coming together to create the 'anthem' for the people is one of my favourite scenes. Brian May (Gwilym Lee) pitches the idea of creating a song in which the crowd could participate, and then we witness the iconic 'stomp stomp clap' beat come to life. via GIPHY Oh man, I had such a ball headbanging to this when Queen plays the song in a concert. 5. Breaking Up With Paul & Firing Him I hated this character right from the start. He weasels his way into Freddie' life, despite knowing that he was with Mary and tries to create a rift between him and the rest of the band. © 20th Century Fox So, watching Paul (Allen Leech) being tossed aside by Freddie after he realises that his manager was nothing but a blood-sucking parasite in his life, was such a brilliant moment. Freddie calls Paul “a dirty little fruit-fly” who is feasting on what's left of him and tells him to “fly off”. 6. When Freddie Is Diagnosed With HIV AIDS & A Patient Cheers Him Up Freddie finds out that he has been tested positive with AIDS, and we can see his world crash around him as the doctor tells him the diagnosis. However, what broke me is what happened next. Freddie is walking out of the clinic when a young HIV patient sees him and feebly croaks out 'Ay-oh', to which Freddie responds with an affirmative 'Ay-oh'. Oh my God, so powerful. 7. When Freddie Make Amends With His Dad Before The Live Aid Concert Throughout the most part of the movie, Freddie and his father have stark different opinions on how he needs to lead his life. While his father still calls him by his real name- Farrokh, Freddie later goes on to announce that he has officially changed his name throughout the movie to Freddie Mercury. But towards the end, when Freddie is about to leave for the Live Aid Concert, heart still heavy from having learnt about his disease, he makes amends with his father and says “good thoughts, good words, good deeds. Just like you taught me, papa,” after which his father proceeds to hug him tightly. 8. The Iconic Live Aid Concert © 20th Century Fox I don't think words can convey how brilliantly this scene was executed in the movie. I, along with the rest of the audience, was literally swaying and singing along (thanks to the karaoke-like words appearing on the screen). It was like I was there at Wembley! Freddie's emotions as he sings the line “Mama, life had just begun. But now I've gone and thrown it all away” hit me so hard, it took me everything not to start bawling right there on my seat. Of course, when the bars for 'we are the champions' started, I, along with the rest of the people in the theatre, lost my sanity. It was such a powerful performance, especially when the shot cut to Ray Foster for the line 'no time for losers' (Lol, that was so brilliant)! They ended the movie with a powerful punch through this concert. This movie was a gift to me as a musical lover and a Queen fan. It was nothing short of an experience that was a treat to my eyes and ears.
  11. In 'MXP Body Love', we ask people with amazing bodies the key questions about how to achieve, maintain, and basically take care of our bodies in the best way possible, while seeking their guidance on the same. While we want to know hacks on seemingly superficial topics such as how to look good without clothes, we also want to delve deep and discuss bigger issues such as body positivity, acceptance, how to deal with insecurities, and also how to move past difficulties and strive to reach the best version of oneself. Our 'Body Love' expert here is actor Sooraj Pancholi. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 1. One food item you should never, ever eat? I won't comment on any food item, but I strongly advise against taking fat burners. I always see youngsters ingesting fat burners without any proper guidance, and that should be a complete no-no, for your general well-being in the future. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 2. The one body part you should never ignore when it comes to workout? Legs, for sure. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 3. Natural fuzz vs. waxed/trimmed body hair? I have never waxed my body. I'd say trimmed. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 4. Grooming essentials - what are the products you can't do without? The basics. Perfume and Vitamin E cream suffice for me. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 5. Shave down there or trim it? It really depends on the occasion. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 6. Best lighting for clicking shirtless pictures / nudes (or just for the boudoir)? Again, depends on the kind of picture I'm going for, but I'd say top lighting doesn't work for me, even though it's popular. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 7. Did you ever face any insecurity about your own body? What did you do to deal with it? I'm still insecure about my body. I feel that is what takes me to the gym every day. I feel that's not essentially a bad thing, because while I'm not obsessed with it, I don't want to feel complacent as well. I feel it's okay to feel that way, because even the most successful bodybuilders are not completely happy with their body. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 8. What is the toughest challenge according to you, when it comes to obtaining and maintaining a body in its peak shape? Diet, without a doubt. It's extremely difficult to strictly maintain a diet all year round. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 9. Not everyone is content with the way their body looks. How do you suggest one should deal with it? No one can be perfect. Perfection is a myth. Especially, with the advent of social media, especially Instagram, the pressure of obtaining a particular standard has been mounting on everyone. I feel instead of chasing something unrealistic, one should actually work towards something sustainable, and what they feel at peace with. Even the best of bodybuilders aren't 100% happy with their physiques, but they strive to achieve what matters to them. We should take a cue from them and work towards goals that we ourselves have set, and not participate in someone else's race. © Instagram/soorajpancholi 10. The lines are constantly thinning, when it comes to what is beautiful and what is not. Body positivity is slowly catching up, and the 'accepted standards' of beauty and fitness are getting questioned. What are your views about it? I think it's amazing. I feel body positivity is essential because it boosts everyone's self-confidence. One doesn't need to have an eight pack to look good. A little bit of tummy or curves are beautiful in their own way, and everyone needs to understand this. A quintessential 'beach' body might look aesthetically appealing from outside, but it's not necessarily healthy if it's loaded with steroids. I think people should focus more on being actually fit, rather than focusing on looking fit. If you feel fit, you are automatically beautiful, and no other validation is required post that.
  12. We're going to go ahead and declare that we're tired of kurta pyjamas and sherwanis. There, we said it. Before you revolt, hear us out. Actually, just take a look at your wardrobe and introspect. How long can you keep on repeating that same old outfit with the same old silhouette, just by changing the colours here and there? And sometimes not even that? Diwali deserves to be celebrated to your heart's content, so why should men's fashion take a backseat - while the women in our lives manage to nail new, innovative, pretty outfits every year? We are done with the apathy, and have decided to do something about it this year. We have fashioned 7 incredible ways of layering that will completely transform the way you dress on Diwali henceforth, or any festival whatsoever. Take a look. 1. A delightful double layered ensemble with a pastel base. © MensXP This simple, yet elegant ensemble from Philocaly has everything the modern man looks forward to - class, sophistication, and an element of subtlety that is often missing in festival outfits. The fact that a pair of well-fitted white trousers is included instead of any other form of lowers, adds to the 'chill' factor. © MensXP Label: Philocaly (Ig: philocaly_menswear) Model: Aaron Kaul 2. An elegant, earthy duo-tone ensemble. © MensXP There is something about embracing fabrics that are earthy and organic. Add to that the rustic touch of a layered silhouette that is extremely edgy, yet comforting, and you get an outfit that will not only turn heads, but will start a conversation. This outfit consisting of a handwoven Khadi jacket, a boxy shirt, and Khadi Dhoti pants does exactly that. © MensXP Label: Urvashi Kaur (Ig: urvashikaur) Model: Llavi Tyagi 3. A smart jacket on kurta pyjama aesthetic. © MensXP When you add a jacket on a basic kurta pyjama, the whole game changes. In this case, the same fabric has been used to construct a structured Nehru jacket with pintuckeds that forms the topmost layer of the ensemble. Talking about functional outfits that don't stray far in terms of experimental silhouettes, this one takes the cake. © MensXP Label: Amaare Couture (Ig: amaarecouture) Model: Siddhant Roop Rai 4. An edgy, relaxed, anti-fit layered ensemble. © MensXP An outfit that's not seamlessly fitted is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you can carry it off, the game is yours. Just look at this runway-ready combination of the boxy paneled top with crossover pants, along with the unabashed brave layering with the sheer anti-fit jacket. © MensXP Label: Urvashi Kaur (Ig: urvashikaur) Model: TJ 5. A bravely layered outfit with panels and patchwork. © MensXP If you want to sport something that will immediately make you the center of attention, layer away like you mean it. A kurta-pyjama-waistcoat ensemble. © MensXP If you want to stick to the tried and tested aesthetic of adding an waistcoat to a well-fitted kurta pyjama, go right ahead! Just make sure that the fit is perfect, and the waistcoat is not a run-of-the-mill piece. This one fits the bill perfectly, with an unusual construction and smart buttoned panels. © MensXP Label: Philocaly (Ig: phlilocaly_menswear) Model: TJ 7. A layered ensemble with a statement tunic. © MensXP Tunics are great. While they can be a bit confusing in terms of where exactly they fit in, one can definitely use them to layer outfits like this one here. 13. If gazing at the night sky is one of your hobbies, then perhaps you're familiar with the Big Dipper or Orion's Belt. However, what you won't see is the Millennium Falcon or Ironman zipping around. Well, think again! NASA has used certain characters from modern myths such as The Hulk and Godzilla to name its new set of 21 gamma-ray constellations constructed in celebration of its Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope's 10th year of operations. © NASA Even more modern characters have been added like the Little Prince, the time-warping TARDIS from 'Doctor Who,' and the antimatter-powered U.S.S. Enterprise from 'Star Trek: The Original Series'. "Developing these unofficial constellations was a fun way to highlight a decade of Fermi's accomplishments,” said Julie McEnery, the Fermi project scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in the US. NASA described the constellations as unofficial, since there are only 88 recognized constellations, according to the International Astronomical Union. © NASA NASA paid homage to the Hulk's comic book beginnings, when Dr. Bruce Banner's experiments with gamma rays went horribly wrong and compared the resemblance of Godzilla's trademark "heat ray" to gamma-ray jets associated with black holes and neutron stars. NASA has a full breakdown of 21 new constellations, along with pictures demonstrating how they fit the characters they're named for. Since its installation 10 years ago, Fermi scanned the sky each day, measuring and mapping gamma-ray sources, which is the highest-energy light in the universe. It enables scientists to answer persistent questions across a broad range of topics, including supermassive black-hole systems, pulsars, the origin of cosmic rays, and searches for signals of new physics. © NASA “For the first time ever, the number of known gamma-ray sources was comparable to the number of bright stars, so we thought a new set of constellations was a great way to illustrate the point,” said Ferrara in a statement to PTI. The Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) detects sudden flares of gamma-rays produced by gamma-ray bursts and solar flares. After five years of operations, on Aug. 11, 2013, Fermi entered an extended phase of its mission, a deeper study of the high-energy cosmos.
  14. When you think of tennis, the first person you think of is Roger Federer, he really is one of the best players ever and he has proved time and again that he really is the ultimate GOAT. I mean, just look at his career, that's one of the most spectacular things ever. Now, even he may have outdone himself with one incredible shot. Even his opponent couldn't believe his eyes, he didn't know what just happened. His US Open victory over Nick Kyrgios with the 'shot of the tournament' left even Nick claiming that it was “almost unreal” and it surely was. I'm not even a tennis fan and even I have to admit – what a shot! I mean, just look at this! 15. Modern games have come a long way in terms of graphics, it's become so good that at times you can't even make out whether its an actual footage or CGI. Even though the hardware has been consistently improving, nothing brings in the feel of the 90s double-digit bit rate games that we've played. Artist and animator, John Stratman has created a 16-bit version of the big fight scene in 'Infinity War' where the team of Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy take on Thanos on Titan. The first half consists of the wonderful 16-bit remake, while the second half compares it side-by-side to the actual film so that you can also experience the drastic change. The video, made for the YouTube channel 'Mr Sunday Movies', is 10 minutes long and covers almost everything in the entire fight against Thanos on Titan. Right from the fight choreography to Doctor Strange's trippy powers, Stratman has managed to cover everything with just 16-bits. © YouTube While the video is just amazing to watch and will get you all nostalgic, there's no way to play Stratman's version of Infinity Wars as a real video game right now. Though on the brighter side, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are working with Marvel on an actual 'Avengers' game, we haven't seen or heard much about it since the release of the teaser trailer. 25-30 years back, this game would've been every Marvel fan's dream. No, why just Marvel fans? The plot and the cliffhanger nature of the series are more than sufficient to have almost every kind of gamer excited for this. © Marvel Studios The movie, 'Avengers: Infinity War' is now available on digital platforms, DVD, and Blu-ray. The next instalment of the movie is scheduled to come in May 2019. In fact, there have been reports stating that Benedict Cumberbatch is being offered £7.5 million (US$ 9.57 million) to star in the sequel. 'Avengers: Infinity War' has been a huge success for the Marvel Studios. The film has earned more than US$ 2 billion worldwide and is the highest-grossing film of 2018, globally. Domestically in the USA, the film is the second-highest grossing of the year and the fourth-highest grossing film of all time.
  16. After the fiasco of 2010 (where a few players revolted) and 2014 (where they lost to a resolute German team), France have reached their second World Cup in 12 years. Coached by the 1998 World Cup winning captain Didier Deschamps, the average age of this squad is just 26, showing how much trust he has in his young players even after the defeat in the Euro 2016 final. Another feature of this French side is the total number of players (16) who were children of immigrants. Eight players of the current squad settled in banlieues (literally meaning suburbs) in French around Paris, including Kylian Mbappe. As much credit goes to Deschamps and his attacking tactics, one must not forget the liberal policies of French immigration which has contributed so much. Here's the 6 games which has seen France reach the World Cup final: Group Stages Reuters Placed in Group C containing Denmark, Australia and Peru, France were expected to go through comfortably. Deschamps tinkered with his lineup in the group stage, beginning with a 4-3-3 formation against Australia. Griezmann scored the first ever VAR-assisted goal with a penalty, while a huge deflection off Aussie defender Aziz Behich saw France to a 2-1 win. Their second game saw France start with a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Deschamps including Chelsea striker Giroud in his formation. They labored to a 1-0 win, thanks to a goal by Mbappe. By now, they had secured qualification to the Round of 16. A final group game against Denmark saw both sides content to sit back, with the game finishing a goalless draw. France's opponents in the Round of 16? Argentina. Round Of 16 Reuters A World Cup classic on the 30th of June saw France to a 4-3 win over the South Americans, who scraped through their group. Mbappe showed the world what he is capable of, doing the Thierry Henry style of pace against the feeble Argentinean defence. Rojo brought him down, and Atleti stiker Griezmann duly converted. Argentina even went ahead after a sizzling Di Maria shot and a deflection off defender Mercado to give them a 2-1 lead in the 48th minute. But this was the game where France showed maturity beyond their years and patiently knocked on the door. 22 year old Benjamin Pavard equalized with one of the strikes of the tournament, a crisp half volley into the top corner. Mbappe further underlined his credentials for Golden Ball, with a smart left footed finished under the keeper in the 64th minute to give France the lead. A quick counter in the 68th minute involving Giroud saw Mbappe finish off Argentina with a fourth. Aguero's late consolation was too little, too late for the beleaguered nation. France were up against the defensive fort of Uruguay in the quarterfinals. Quarterfinals Reuters Up against the Diego Godin and Co, France had a tough task ahead of them. Deschamps begin in a 4-2-3--1 formation, wanting Giroud to hold up play. He wanted aerial ability after Uruguay knocked out Portugal in the Round of 16, albeit a Cavani header for La Garra Charrua's opener. Patience was France's virtue again in this game, and the opener came courtesy a well worked set piece. Defender Varane ran diagonal to Griezmann's free-kick, heading it past Muslera for the opener in the 40th minute. France's second came twenty minutes after a Griezmann shot. His swerving left footer seemed to be going straight at Muslera, who moved to his right. The 32-year-old fumbled it, with the ball looping over the line. Les Bleus defensive stability saw them to a 2-0 win and a blockbuster semifinal clash against Belgium Semifinals Reuters Eliminating Brazil in the quarterfinals, Belgium were seen as hot favorites for the World Cup. Coach Martinez placed De Bruyne in the quarterfinal position, bringing in Dembele for cover in midfield. France began Matuidi in place of Tolisso, with both teams playing defensively in the first half. The only goal of the game came via France's smart set piece movement. A corner in the 51st minute saw Umtiti beat Fellaini and Courtois at the near post, with France defending resolutely till the end. France will look to exorcise the ghosts of Euro 2016 after losing on home soil. Croatia will to avenge their semifinal loss to France in 1998. Can Lloris become the fourth ever goalkeeper to lead a country to World Cup on Sunday? We must wait and see.
  17. Standing barely 5-and-a-half-feet tall, he may be hard to spot if you are not consciously looking for him. He's not stylish like Griezmann, doesn't invite attention like Mbappe, nor does he sport special hairdos like Paul Pogba. He's almost like a Ninja, if you may call him. His tireless running across the field has often made pundits wonder whether he's got an extra pair of lungs. That's N'Golo Kante for you – a man whose tireless work ethic, dedication, and sincerity has made him rise from the 6th division of French football to the heights of two Premier League trophies, a Players' Player of the Year trophy, and a Ballon D'Or nomination. Currently, he's at cusp of lifting a FIFA World Cup for France. © Reuters N'Golo Kante grew up in a Parisian suburb, opposite River Sienne. His diminutive figure often made local coaches wonder whether he would be able to hold his own in a game of football. But that's the irony of humans – we always equate size to excellence when in fact some of the biggest sporting icons have been short, right from Diego Maradona to Sachin Tendulkar. Kante has always been too humble for his own good. He didn't acknowledge his own talent, and several rejections by clubs like Rennes, Lorient and Clairefontaine made him feel that he should pursue a professional life. He therefore completed his degree in Accountancy, but as fate would have it, got drawn into football after getting a call from Boulogne's reserve squad. They played in the 6th Division of the French football league – one that you wouldn't know anything about unless you do some first-hand research. © Reuters Boulogne reserves got promoted to the 5th division, and their main team to the 3rd division. In 2012, he earned a call from their main team but got his debut only on the last day of the Ligue 2 season. Boulogne were already relegated, and he got to display his skill for barely 11 minutes. But Kante took that chance, as he always has in his life. He was subsequently brought by another Ligue 2 club Caen, and Kante played a major role in Caen's promotion to Ligue 1 that year. In a matter of 3 years, Kante went from playing for a nondescript 6th tier club to the first division of French football. This attracted the attention of scouts from a certain Leicester City, and the rest is a fairy tale. 3 years on, Kante has 2 Premier League medals and several individual honors to his name. He may not be among the goals or assists because that's not his role, but if France win the World Cup on Sunday, every football lover will know his immense role in stopping opposition attacks and initiating that of his own team.
  18. For those who've been following the ongoing FIFA World Cup closely, you are bound to have come across the phrase, “It's Coming Home”. What started off as typical English sarcastic mockery of themselves, soon became a hopeful chant as manager Gareth Southgate ticked more and more boxes in Russia. However, as England comprehensively beat Sweden in the Samara arena, that hopeful chant looks like it's becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. Cynics will shout all sorts of excuses for England's “chance” success in Russia, but the truth is that Southgate's men have defied all expectations to write a sweet story of redemption for a nation that's suffered from perennial underachievement. © Reuters England came into this tournament as the third youngest team in this World Cup. Most of the players in the squad, who've have played in the lower rungs of English football, wouldn't have dared to imagine themselves getting an England cap, let alone play in a World Cup. To add to that, was Gareth Southgate's poker-faced personality and his inexperience as a manager. On paper, these things form the perfect recipe for disaster. The acceptance of the modest roots of this squad had seeped into the English fans and the unforgiving English media. Amidst these lowered expectations, the English team has shined and how! As England came up against Sweden in their first quarter-final since 2006, most English fans felt as confident as they'd ever been. Once again, England showed that what they lack in guile and style, they make up for that through their graft. England had the majority of the possession, looked confident on the ball and dug out chances against an unforgiving Swedish defence. Their hard work was rewarded with two well-worked headers either side of half-time. © Reuters On a largely uneventful evening, the match could've been really interesting if not for English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. He made crucial last-ditch saves throughout the match to save his team's arse. He's had only two successful seasons in domestic football, and his rise to the top is symbolic of the struggles of this entire English squad. However, the heroes of this unlikely English success have been captain Harry Kane, and manager Gareth Southgate. Kane leads the golden boot charts with 6 goals, and has been a role model to his team all throughout the tournament. The real mastermind, however, has been Southgate, who has made one bold decision after another and finally put together an English squad, which is bigger than the individuals in it. Amidst all this hysteria, the English fans will have no qualms if England were to bow out in the semi-finals, as they would've created history anyway. © Reuters The victory against Sweden means that England will play in a World Cup semifinal for the first time in 28 years and that we will soon see Zlatan in an England shirt at Wembley. However, for those still dreaming and hoping, there would be nothing quite like the sight of football finally coming home after 52 years!
