NOTE Version Spacious ACP 14 is for 4.3 and above. Tweaks! Customizations Galore! New Widgets! So many I'm just going to start listing them... Header, primary, and secondary menu background colors fully changeable. Header, primary, and secondary menu font colors fully changeable. Change background color of message information and message warnings. Option for tighter row spacing throughout. Page fade-in animation effect for an app-like feel. Secondary menu options have mouse-over hover effect so you can actually see what you are about to select. Secondary menu options have expanded hotlink area across the entire list element instead of just the text: easy navigation for you! Change the name of the ACP to whatever you want! Online users embedded in Dashboard header with popup details (including search bots). Un-sticky the ACP header to gain more screen-estate when scrolling. Optional modern-style dashboard widget format. New in Version 12: Dashboard Patches and Updates! Patch and Update buttons only show when there is a patch or update to 3rd Party app/plugin available. Can disable this function entirely in settings if you would rather not be bothered. New Widgets! System Overview: Redesigned for version 11! Real-time server load, IPS installation size, IPS database size, memory available (or free), storage space available, options for Community in the Cloud customers, database details including your database engine and character search limits. Graph colors match your chosen ACP header colors, option to over-ride. When memory/server space becomes critical graphs go red! You configure when the memory and server space warnings kick in! Gallery Overview: Mostly a rework of the default Gallery widget but with better formatting. Note the default widget (and this one) only tracks the storage space of the original images, not all the copies actually made and used by the IPS system - those stats are not saved anywhere. Spacious ACP 11 now includes the four newest images along with the four most viewed. Widget is fine wide or side. Forum Statistics: The most glaring IPS omission. Sparkline trends for both topics created and responses made! Sparkline charts display the last eight weeks, the numbers alongside are the last three (so the right side of the sparkline chart displays those three amounts). Click the circle "i" icons for pop-up details! Lots more - check it out! Member Statistics: Mid-transformation with Spacious ACP 11. Online users now embedded in Dashboard header. Moved from average member age to median member age. Track which members are actually using your site vs. long-dead relic member accounts from years ago. Sparkline and "i" circles work just like the other widgets. Have fun! System Errors: Lists last five (max) system errors so you can actually see what problems are occurring under the hood. Direct links to error reports and system error page. Strongly recommend you have this widget up to see what 3rd-party apps/plugins are causing havoc on your system rather. Front and center and you can't ignore them and we 3rd party devs do not have a built in error reporting system like IPS does right now. SimilarWeb: A website ranking/tracking service. Two SW default widgets for tracking visitor types and relative rankings, embedded in a single IPS dashboard widget. The rankings widget can have two additional websites added for tracking alongside your own site. Alexa: Get your Alexa ranking (for whatever that's worth...) right in your dashboard. Both global and national. Updates daily and flags trending up or down from previous check. This widget is also undergoing additional dev as Alexa things have changed. Next Spacious version or two will see this one perked up. Most Active Topics Last 3 Days: As stated. Based on topic responses only. Maximum of five listed. Useful for large boards where you are likely to overlook where the action is at any given time. These are all under active development. Refinement and new widgets can be expected. I've also improved the Admins Online and IPS News widgets. Admins Online (which you should rename in your language files as ACP Admins Online or Active ACP Sessions) now displays avatars and the IPS news widget has been compressed vertically to not take up so much space. More! Login Page Customization: Add a background or just change the color. The login box is totally customizable as well including transparency and the option to add additional text. Dash Buttons: Add some more quick link buttons to the top of the dashboard - administrator logs, moderator logs, tasks, and a super-convenient wipe caches button! Wipe caches includes the CIC resync process to better fight the CIC caching system when installing/adjusting apps and plugins on your CIC site! Additional System Tweaks: Plugin versions displayed alongside plugins. Your most online stat is ALWAYS being tracked, not just tracked when the stats widget in on a page on the front end! Restores ACP favicon. Upload whatever you like (ico format for now) or use the giant black IPS ico provided. PM members from the member page. S3 file methods will now display endpoint and directory structure in their listed names allowing you to actually tell the difference between various S3 entities. See the rest of the screenshots; I've probably have forgotten things at this point. Installation: New Installations: There is just a single application file (tar) and an optional IPS black browser .ico file. Install the tar like you would any other application. That's it! 4.1 and earlier users: Starting with 4.2 there is only an application to install. If you already have the Spacious ACP theme and Spacious Widgets application installed first delete the Spacious ACP theme. It is not compatible with 4.2. Now, you can either upgrade the Spacious Widgets application with this Spacious ACP application (yes, just go ahead and upgrade, do not install as a new app) or you can delete the Spacious Widgets application and then install this new one. If you upgrade the existing application you'll probably need to hit the support tool to clear the caches before everything starts working with theme changes and so on. This is expected (happened to me during testing) The move to just the single application is due to IPS planning on removing the ability for themes to be set for the ACP. All the configuration settings to alter the ACP appearance, configure widgets that require configuring, and changing your ACP login page are all available in under Customization - Spacious ACP : Settings. To add the new widgets to your dashboard just click the add button on the dashboard, choose and then drag them where you want them to be. Be aware that both Forum and Member Statistics only support the large display widget area. They will work on the small area but may look odd... All the others can be used in the large or small areas. Front end widgets pass through a variable indicating if they are in a wide horizontal position or on the sidebar. ACP dashboard widgets do not have this which limits the custom formatting I can do to make things fit. Heads Up! Widgets with Google Charts in them will render weird when you first drag them onto the dashboard. Just refresh the page. On install AND upgrades, Spacious tasks are automatically marked as never ran (this behavior is standard for all apps). Some widgets rely on pulling saved information that is generated by these tasks. Feel free to manually run any Spacious tasks to spark the process along if you do not feel like waiting 10-15 minutes (or longer for some stats). Notes: Some of the new widgets give you a sampling of statistical information you probably want about your site and though you can request that I add some things of this nature to Spacious Widgets they will probably NOT be added as that will require storing substantial information in the database. That's well beyond the scope of an ACP theme and some add-on widgets. Better off in a separate application where it can be done right. be sure and look at the default statistics tab: somewhere along the line in the 4.2 series they've improved things there. In some server/hosting situations some data I try to read for the System Overview widget may not be accessible. Do not buy this if the Server Overview widget is the only thing you are interested in. No refunds will be approved due to some elements of that widget not working correctly on your site. Specifically, you will need allow read access to the /proc directory on Centos/Red Hat/Ubuntu systems and in some cases you may have an Apache setting called open_basedir preventing this. A simple file edit on your server will usually solve this. VestaCP users will need to edit some configuration templates to change this variable. Cost/Allowed Use: $25/$7 every six months. Basically $14 a year once you get going for a customizable ACP and a bunch of new dashboard widgets (with more on the way!). Renewals keep us devs going! Licensed for your IPS site bound to your IPS account plus any/all dev boards (localhost or otherwise). Other sites should/need to get their own licensed copy of Spacious ACP. All rights reserved, etc. NEW! 4.3 compatible, initial release. Revamped graphs, other changes, too many to list. This release is not feature complete. More to come but a decent 4.3 build needs to get out the door and this one is it. Note that as of 4/26/2018 the screenshots are still mucked up (happens when IPS CIC has problems with S3 and upgrades and so on and so forth). New shots forthcoming, along with a new Marketplace description.

  12. Hello dear users, not everyone know exactly how to create even a basic application in IPS 4x because of fact, that there is no HOW TO on Developers page yet. Most of 3x Developers have checked every each of Dev docs to create their own apps, i miss this "START HERE:" tutorial too so i'm about to tell all of You how to create Hello World app, i will be explaining every each of steps so there is no "why this isn't working? what i'm doing wrong?" but let me inform you that i am NOT a pro coder and I can explain some things wrong but i try my best. So, let's begin.. STEP 1: Enabling Developer mode I'm recommending creating own apps on forums located on localhost because of fact that the Developer Mode can mess up with your community if you do something wrong. You can download actual Developer Tools here, after downloading the files, upload them to your parent folder of your hosting (in most cases public_html). After you've uploaded files to your www hosting, create an constants.php file and put this code inside: <?php define( 'IN_DEV', TRUE ); to enable Dev Mode. More informations here: STEP 2: Creating an Application trough your Admin CP After completing first step, you'll need to go to your ACP and create application in ACP → System → Applications using the "+ Create new" button located on top right side of page. Now you can input an Application Name, Application Directory(which is required), Author Name, Author website, Update Check URL and set the Protected status. Let's input something like this for an Hello World app: After inputting some strings, let's go ahead and create app by clicking Save button. Now if you look inside applications folder on your www you'll see that folder (in my case)helloworld have been created. Application Directory is actually an app key too so, remember it. STEP 3: Developer Center Each of app has it's own Developer Center located in ACP → System → Applications → Your Application → Dropdown menu → Developer Center Inside the Developer Center is everything you need to build your own application, to set up your extensions, app settings, databases, ACP Tabs etc. There is also an /dev/ folder located in your app folder, there you can put an custom language strings for app(/dev/lang.php dev docs), custom templates (/dev/html/front/modulekey/filename.phtml step 3 of complete example of a plugin), custom css(/dev/css/), custom email templates(/dev/email), custom js scripts(/dev/js/) and many more.. STEP 4: Creating modules and controllers There are two types of modules, there are admin modules which are modules showed in ACP and there are front modules which are showed on public side of forums. Because of that is just an Hello World app example, i will be showing you only front modules, so let's begin.. Like you can see on app page (yourdomain.com/index.php?app=helloworld), there is showing an error on the font side It's because there is no front module and it can be easily fixed by creating an front module(which is logical), let's create one by clicking "+ Add Module" in Developer Center (STEP 3). There are only two inputs(forms), Module Key and again Protected, so let's set this like that: After putting some strings in inputs, click Save to create an module. Error isn't showing no more, but, there is no content either, there is just 2S100/1 error saying that requested page does not exist, that's because there is no controller created for this module, so let's create one by pressing + button on helloworld module. After doing that, you will see an window where you can put a filename (this is where you will be putting controller code) Let's just call it helloworld and Save it, after doing so you'll need to set it as default controller for this module so when you visit your app on front side, there will be showing default page(default controller for default module) After doing so, if you visit your app page, there will be showing an already build-in blank template Like you can se, there is already pre-configured an language string module__helloworld_helloworld which is an module_modulename_controllername, this can be configured in /dev/ folder(mentioned in step three), so you need to go to your FTP and go to www/applications/helloworld/dev/ and open up lang.php file, there is already something inside and it's language string for app name. <?php $lang = array( '__app_helloworld' => "Hello World" ); All you need to do is add another language string and call it "module__helloworld_helloworld" it will should be like that: <?php $lang = array( '__app_helloworld' => "Hello World", 'module__helloworld_helloworld' => "Hello World" ); save the file and re-upload it to the /dev/ folder, after doing so, refresh page and the title will be already there! but still, there is nothing inside and there is no page title. So, now we will be creating an "Hello world!" inside this page and we will add "Hello World" as page title. Open up your controller file located in yourdomain.com/applications/helloworld/modules/front/modulekey/controller.php there is already something inside it, it's automatically generated by Community Suite <?php namespace IPS\helloworld\modules\front\helloworld; /* To prevent PHP errors (extending class does not exist) revealing path */ if ( !defined( '\IPS\SUITE_UNIQUE_KEY' ) ) { header( ( isset( $_SERVER['SERVER_PROTOCOL'] ) ? $_SERVER['SERVER_PROTOCOL'] : 'HTTP/1.0' ) . ' 403 Forbidden' ); exit; } /** * helloworld */ class _helloworld extends \IPS\Dispatcher\Controller { /** * Execute * * @return void */ public function execute() { parent::execute(); } /** * ... * * @return void */ protected function manage() { // This is the default method if no 'do' parameter is specified } // Create new methods with the same name as the 'do' parameter which should execute it } More information about namespaces and classes can be found here all you need to do is add to function execute() before parent::execute() this code: \IPS\Output::i()->title = "Hello World"; \IPS\Output::i()->output = "Hello World!"; and it will be showing this: but let's put this inside an template, for this, we will be needing an file inside /dev/html/ folder. But not exactly inside /dev/html/ folder, you'll need to create folders for front/admin module, modulekey. So it will be looking like that: /dev/html/front/helloworld/, now you need to create an .phtml file for template. Let's create one and put this inside: <ips:template parameters="" /> <center><b>Hello World!</b></center> now save it and upload to yourapp/dev/html/front/helloworld/ and name it helloworld.phtml. Now all you need to do is change a source a little bit, so instead of this code: \IPS\Output::i()->title = "Hello World"; \IPS\Output::i()->output = "Hello World!"; You will have this code: \IPS\Output::i()->title = "Hello World"; $tmp = \IPS\Theme::i()->getTemplate( 'modulename', 'appkey(Directory Name)', 'front' )->filename(parameters); \IPS\Output::i()->output = $tmp; after saving it you'll see this: Great News! You have just created an basic Hello World app with custom language strings and custom templates! Great work! Cheers.

  19. Release Notes Tutorial So after following a guide from IPS located here and some people wanted to re-create it i found out i did it myself and sharing the work here to simplify things for others. Let's get started! Pre - Download the files from the download section below 1) Import the Database AdminCP > Pages > Database > Create New >Upload Templates > Release_Notes_DB.xml For Permissions, EVERYONE can SEE Database and VIEW Records. (Else you can't see the release) For those that are to ADD and EDIT releases give permission "Add Record" "Edit Records" Comments, reviews and rate are turned off so this does not matter 2) Permissions for the database AdminCP > Pages > Database > Fields Please repeat the steps from Title to Additional Information (Anything in publish fields you don't need to touch) Click on padlock & Follow from screenshot (Those that needs EDIT and ADD are people wanting to add or edit information) 3) Delete the default template that gets created AdminCP > Pages > Templates Here you should see ReleaseNotes (Might have a number after it) Click on the cogwheel and DELETE 4) Upload Template file We are still in AdminCP > Pages > Templates Click Upload Templates Select the "Release Notes Template" Click Next 5) Add the CSS and JS In Templates click New > New CSS File Name: releasenotes Group: Add to an existing Group Existing Group: CSS Make sure you name it "releasenotes" (Do not add .css or the "") Save You should now have 3 tabs (HTML | CSS | JS) Like the photo below Click on CSS > Page CSS > releasenotes.css Paste in the content from the releasenotes.css file that was provided in the zip you downloaded at the first step here ** LINK *** (Just open it in notepad) Save Now we do the same for JS. Admin > Pages > Templates > New JS file Name: releasenotes Group: Add to an exisiting Group Existing Group: JS Click on JS > Page JS > releasenotes.js Paste in the content from the releasenotes.js file that was provided in the zip you downloaded at the first step (Just open it in notepad) Save Now we are half way there and its starting to take shape but we need to get some other things done as well, as every database is different we need to find a ID so lets continue. 6) Finding and adding the correct field_id AdminCP > Pages > Databases > Fields Find Current Release and click on it The ID is displayed in the address bar see image below Take a note of this as we will need it now. So lets continue. AdminCP > Pages > Templates > HTML > Database Templates > Releasenotes > recordrow Find the code (its first a href link from the top) <a href='{$row->url()}' class='cRelease' data-releaseID='{$row->$idField}' {{if $row->fieldValues()['field_22']}}data-currentRelease{{endif}}> Should look something among those lines now change it to something like this <a href='{$row->url()}' class='cRelease' data-releaseID='{$row->$idField}' {{if $row->fieldValues()['field_YOURID']}}data-currentRelease{{endif}}> Where YOURID is the id you just found (see highlighted images a little bit up) And SAVE Great so now The current release is the one that you have in your database, we are missing to fix some small things in the database then create the page 8) Editing Database Settings AdminCP > Pages > Databases > Edit Now lets edit the small changes Listing Template Group: Releasenotes Display Template Group: Releasenotes Database Key: release-notes Go to the Options Tab Sort: Long ID Order: Descending (9-0) That's it Lets go to the last step. 9) Creating the page Admin > Pages > Add Page > Manual HTML Leave things default, but change the values below I will go from tab to tab left to right. Details Name: Releaste Notes Page Includes Select both your CSS and JS file from step 5 Content {database="release-notes"} If you want you can add it to your menu as well thats up to you Anyways hit save. Permissions - Who can view the release notes and SAVE. There we go. Created and done, so now you should be able to visit yoursite.com/release-notes Congratulations you got it, should look something among these lines now. So for the information you can click ADD release and this is how it works. Its sorted on LONG ID (So higher the number the higher to the top it goes. (If you select 0 it will auto increment so it will be the highest) Current Release will be displayed as a green badge at the side If you do not put a date it will become "In Development" Adding Beta Release will show that its a Beta Adding Security will add a red Triangle to it and show its a security release. Additional Information is just notes for admins If you liked this tutorial please remember to give it a thumbs up. where you see this icon bottom right corner of this post.
