  1. STAR Networkâs streaming platform Hotstar doesnât really get credit for what it tried to accomplish back in 2019. With the release of sports documentary Roar Of The Lion, it kicked off its own homegrown, Indian web series platform with Hotstar Specials. Since then, weâve seen the network test the waters with crime thriller after crime thriller - stumbling hard on itâs attempt to pull off the mockumentary-style humour of The Office. This week, Hotstar has released Kay Kay Menon starrer Special Ops - a slow burn espionage thriller that certainly has a lot going for it - with Neeraj Pandey, director of Baby, A Wednesday!, Rustom and Special 26 at the helm, expectations are pretty high. Letâs see how well the final product matches them. The series opens on establishing shots over New Delhiâs Connaught Place and Red Fort - zooming into our main man Himmat Singh (Kay Kay Menon). In 2019, the grizzled yet seemingly focused RAW agent finds himself across the table from two auditors, claiming that his department has financial irregularities. The premise is explained right from the get-go. Himmat elaborates that his investigations took his team across the Middle East over the last two decades, on a high-stakes manhunt to find the supposed mastermind behind the 2001 Parliament attacks. Naturally, the villain is still at large. All of this is presented in the first episode with varying levels of accuracy and directorial skill. Menonâs performance as Himmat is nuanced and balanced well. The story flips between his life in the early 2000s and 2019 with nuanced portrayals of a young agent with something to prove, contrasting with his more confident, relaxed older self. The parliament attack itself is recreated in a ten-minute sequence thatâs surprisingly close to the real deal. © Hotstar Most of its cast (and budget, therefore) are given the task of not fleshing out their characters, but simply advancing the plot. While this works well in Neeraj Pandeyâs feature-length films, a web series' success depends far more on how engaging and enjoyable its cast is to watch on screen, especially when you consider the sheer volume of runtime. As the series progresses, we get to see Himmatâs determined, by-the-book philosophy erode as he becomes obsessed with tracking down his enemy. We see him lock horns with departmental heads, fail to share his burdens with his family and even resort to cloning and tracking his daughterâs cell phone. It all works great and is performed masterfully, until you realise that most of your runtime is spent waiting for Menon to return on screen. Along with Tacker though, Iâd like to highlight Vinay Pathakâs performance as a police officer and informant - the veteran actor brings a heap of much-needed charisma and personality into what would otherwise be yet another forgettable role. The clearest and most obvious comparison within Pandeyâs filmography is 2016âs Baby, which coincidentally happened to feature Menon as the main villain. The film tackles similar themes of terrorist conspiracies, elite task forces and high-stakes drama, but does so much more effectively. The biggest reason for this is, simply put, Baby keeps the pace running with more-or-less the same ultimate message for viewers, but does so with far less time between itâs setpieces, giving you the idea of urgency and thrill that Special Ops misses out on. Allâs not bad though - the series is certainly worth a watch if youâre a fan of Menon or Pandeyâs work, and props go to the latter for avoiding jingoism and the kind of opinion-pandering thatâs taken over Indian media in recent years, despite the subject matter of terrorism. Thereâs very little Islam-alarmism, and perhaps while Special Ops is not perfect, itâs certainly a special addition to Hotstarâs lineup. Rating: 3/5 View the full article
  2. The deadly coronavirus has created chaos in the whole world and as per the reports, over 1,10,000 people have been infected by the virus across the globe so far. The number is only rising each passing day and the scientists are struggling every day to find an antidote to it. However, as we know life goes on and the best we all could do at this situation is to take the right precautions and follow the safety guidelines to protect ourselves from the virus. Most of the people living in Wuhan, the epicenter of the virus outbreak, are finding it difficult to run the daily chores while being stuck in quarantine. Meghan Monroe, a 21-year-old American girl, is also one of them as she went to Wuhan to work as an English teacher. © Reuters She has been living there for 90 days and has spent half of that time in quarantine due to COVID-19. However, the 21-year-old American has been posting videos on TikTok providing an unfiltered view of what it is like to live in lockdown in Wuhan. The BuzzFeed News quoted her as saying, "I mostly just want people to know it's not scary. I'm a real person and I'm living here and I'm just continuing with my life." Here are some of the videos that show Meghan doing her daily chores like cooking, volunteering and much more while taking all the precautionary measures. @prostage Cooking ribs today ##wuhan ##chinawuhan ##quarantine ##æ¦æ±å æ²¹ ⬠original sound - prostage While the videos show that the girl is doing her everyday chores like any other normal person, but they also depict the grim reality of being stuck in a city, which is the epicenter of the deadly coronavirus outbreak. 3. Hailed as the “Voice of Cricket” in India, Harsha Bhogle has never shied away from expressing his thoughts in public. With the way social media has become a part of our lives, the analyst has used it in the best way possible to send out a message to the masses. So when Australian journalist who tweets with the handle '@DennisCricket_' tried to get a reaction out of the esteemed cricket guru with a 'Nazi' analogy, well… he got one! I can only applaud Harsha for this. His India is broken. No other country's leader or ruling party in the world is consistently being compared to Nazis. On this issue, we all need to be Harsha. Except for @GautamGambhir. He has chosen to be a figurehead for the party of division https://t.co/UOwPlsv8Tg — Dennis Boxing Day (@DennisCricket_) December 24, 2019 “I can only applaud Harsha for this. His India is broken. No other country's leader or ruling party in the world is consistently being compared to Nazis. On this issue, we all need to be Harsha. Except for @GautamGambhir. He has chosen to be a figurehead for the party of division,” wrote the Aussie journalist amidst the ongoing Citizenship Amendment Act row in India. Calling India “broken,” Dennis went on to throw some light on former opening batsman of the Indian cricket team turned politician Gautam Gambhir, calling him a “figurehead for the party of division.” Such issues are always tricky and can lead to a celebrity losing a massive chunk of their following based on the way they respond to such comments. But Bhogle hit it out of the park with his reply: No Dennis, my India isn't broken. It is full of vibrant young people doing amazing things too. We are a fully functional, mature democracy. We might voice our dissent, our disappointment at times but we are fiercely Indian. That word you used in comparison.....never. https://t.co/2rTmEJs4dX — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) December 25, 2019 “No Dennis, my India isn't broken. 4. The 13th edition of the South Asian Games ended on a high for the Indian contingent that broke their own record in medal tally with 312 medals against the other nations of the region like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. With 174 golds, 93 silvers and 45 bronze earned between December 1 and December 10, Team India maintained their top-level stature in the regional games ever since its inception back in 1984. India sets new record! India create a new record at the #SouthAsianGames with as they reach 312 medals, three more than their tally in 2016. India won 174 golds, 93 silver and 45 bronze medals. Many congratulations to all the athletes for the fantastic feat.#SAG2019 #TeamIndia https://t.co/sc5nCvfVDe pic.twitter.com/7MOWjMTKye — SAIMedia (@Media_SAI) December 10, 2019 On the final day of the event, Indian boxers had their best outing at the South Asian games and they won 12 golds, three silvers and a solitary bronze to take their nation over the record-breaking mark of 309 medals that they had set in 2016. Sona ka Punch!ð¥ It is a ð¯show for Indiað®ð³ as the women boxers pick up goldð¥Here are the winners! -@boxer_pinkij -@SoniaLatherBoxe -#ManjuBamboriya #PunchMeinHaiDum#boxing pic.twitter.com/MtnKRfzXFH — Boxing Federation (@BFI_official) December 10, 2019 Even though this is a phenomenal achievement and the athletes worked hard day in and out to represent their country on such a high stage to win and earn medals, the reality of the Indian contingent as a whole might not be as rosy as it looks. Sure, the overall medal tally went up since 2016 but the number of gold medals between 2016 and 2019 has depreciated by 15. Another important aspect of the 2019 South Asian Games is that this edition had 75 more medal events offering 225 medals more than the previous edition. So, when you look at the percentage of India's medal earnings this year, it has gone down by approximately 10 percent. This turns out to become a bigger cause of worry for the Indian sports fraternity especially as the 2020 Olympics, which is to be held in Tokyo, is just eight months away. If we have learnt anything from our past it is that regardless of how many miles ahead of competition India has been in the South Asian region in sports, we have always ended up disappointed at the greatest stage of them all. © Reuters If we are letting our dominance at the regional level fade away too, well then, where does that make us stand on a global level? “I will not take names but if an Indian athlete, who comes from a very humble background, is given crores of rupees for winning one Asia-level medal, why would they want to put their body through the torture of daily practice for higher levels of competition,” Divesh Bhal, an Athletics Federation of India official, had told MensXP in September. “Sometimes, they lose motivation (after winning an Asia-level medal) and it happens too much within Indian athletics," he said. And this happens every single time. Once an athlete wins a medal at the Asian or South Asian level, the hunger to win an Olympic gold somehow dies off and that's the mentality that makes us fail to bring podium finishes, much less a gold medal. 5. The latest Bollywood trend seems to be time-travelling, especially travelling to the past and 'seeing' for ourselves what transpired during some of the most iconic events in Indian history. Bollywood's upcoming film Panipat also happens to be one such attempt at rediscovering the past visually, and truth be told, the Ashutosh Gowarikar directorial looked pretty regal and close-to-reality in the Panipat trailer that recently came out. © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Now, we don't want to sound too harsh, but the only thing that seems less convincing in the entire affair besides Arjun Kapoor's dialogue delivery is Arjun Kapoor himself. Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao Bhau almost seems out of place, lacklustre and drab as a Maratha warrior in the era when the Marathas were India's most powerful empire. Set against the backdrop of the historic Third Battle of Panipat, the film traces the journey of Sardar Senapati aka Commander-In-Chief of the Maratha army Sadashivrao Peshwa, and his role in trying to defend his motherland from the notorious Ahmad Shah Abdali of the Durrani Empire. © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions But if not the lead actor, we feel this movie is worth a watch for the performances of these 4 brilliant actors who also star in Panipat. 1. Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Known to the world as the founder of the Durrani Empire and modern-day Afghanistan, Sanjay Sutt as Abdali looks more than convincing in its attempt to inspire fear and anger all at once. Sanjay Dutt really looks the part as the notorious and ambitious king Abdali. 2. Mohnish Bahl as Nana Sahib Peshwa © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Noted veteran actor Mohnish Bahl will once again be seen on the silver screen and this time, as the most powerful and successful Peshwa the Maratha Empire ever saw. As Nana Sahib Peshwa, Mohnish will be seen making the historic decision to fight Abdali's forces with Sadashiv's strategies. 3. Padmini Kolhapure as Gopikabai © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Wife of Nana Sahib Peshwa, Gopikabai was known to be very religious and orthodox. Padmini Kolhapure is all set to make a comeback to the big screen after a gap of six years. 4. Zeenat Aman as Sakina Begum © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Yesteryear megastar Zeenat Aman is all set to make a Bollywood comeback with this movie. Though not much is known about her character, it is enough to be able to watch her on the silver screen after so many years. View the full article
  6. Australia has been on a roll against a visiting Pakistani side for a three-game T20I series followed by a two-match Test series which is currently underway at the Adelaide Oval. The Australian batsmen are showing no intent of slowing it down with the gigantic totals for their opponents in the first innings and their bowlers, led by a scary Mitchell Starc, are making it absolutely suffocating for Azhar Ali's men to survive at the pitch. "The higher you go, the body starts going back."@glennmcgrath11 explains why Mitchell Starc's 'small change' makes a 'massive difference'.#AUSvPAK pic.twitter.com/H65s8tRShz — #7Cricket (@7Cricket) November 30, 2019 Essentially, Tim Paine's men are looking like the Justice League with every member of the team looking like a superhero against an under-talented Pakistani side. They are destined to win the second and final Test to hand their opponents a wash-out defeat in every game that they played on Australian soil during their current trip. But Paine got in the way of history being made when he made his best batsman, David Warner to return to the dressing room in the middle of a once-in-a-lifetime batting performance. With 39 boundaries and a solitary maximum, Warner broke Don Bradman and Mark Taylor's record by scoring 335 runs. This achievement made him the owner of the tenth spot in the list of the highest individual scores in Test cricket. David Warner becomes the 7th Australian to score a triple century in Tests ðª pic.twitter.com/3tup9XUnIX — ICC (@ICC) November 30, 2019 However, based on the way Warner didn't lose his focus despite facing 418 deliveries, he looked well on his way to reaching for the 400-mark and maybe even defeat Brian Lara's all-time record. After Paine declared the match at the twilight of day two of the match, Warner was asked about his skipper's decision to not allow him to reach for the stars and he did a decent job at protecting him. “... I said 'when are we declaring', and they said '5.40pm' and I said 'ok'. I kept on asking when we were out there, we got to five, then ten past five, and I was making sure that was still the message and it was. Until I think that last over before, it just ticked over [5.40pm] and Painey wanted me to try and get past that 334 mark," Warner said after the match in favour of Paine's decision to declare the first innings. Basically it was predetermined, even before Warner was at the crease, that Australia will declare at 5:40 regardless of how many runs a batsman would have made by then and they stuck to it. They wanted enough time to dismiss the Pakistani batting order twice to win the second match as well. And this is where Tim Paine should have realised that what David Warner did was special and so rare that only nine players in the entire history of the game had been able to score more runs than him. Hey Babysitterð¶ Australian temporary captain @tdpaine36 (Tim Paine) we were waiting for our champion Mr.David Warner's 4th century (400) but you did poor captaincy and declared 1st inning on 589/3. He was on 335* & still 42 overs were left to stump day 2.#AUSvsPAK pic.twitter.com/ILcezy8eAs — Ravindra Varak (@VarakRavindra) November 30, 2019 Sure, a win at this point in the ICC World Test Championships was important for the Australians but that would have come anyway. All Warner needed were a few more overs and some support from his captain to do the unthinkable, but none of those two things happened for the 33-year-old southpaw. This is where captaincy becomes completely different for Team India's leader, Virat Kohli. Even though winning is the top priority for Kohli and they have been doing a brilliant job in doing so (undefeated in the ICC World Test Championships till date), he is willing to stay flexible and motivate his players to do great things at the pitch. The greatest example of Kohli's spirit was seen during India's first Test match against Bangladesh. Even though it was almost certain that India will go on to win the Indore clash, Kohli encouraged his opener, Mayank Agarwal to score as many runs as he can. Coach Virat Kohli Explains Why He Pushed Mayank Agarwal For The Double-Century Vs Bangladesh https://t.co/tVxrGb9ygV via @MensXP — à¤à¤¶à¥à¤¤à¥à¤· (@aka_saurabh) November 18, 2019 When Agarwal celebrated reaching the 150-run mark, Kohli demanded him to score 200 runs. When he reached 200, the skipper raised three fingers and motivated him to make 300. Although Kohli was all smiles after Agarwal was dismissed at 243, he later made sure that the world knew why he pushed his man to give his best for the team. View this post on Instagram "Don't want others to make the mistakes I made as a youngster" - @virat.kohli on pushing @mayankagarawal to score double tonð A post shared by Team India (@indiancricketteam) on Nov 16, 2019 at 5:11am PST “I know how much time it took me to get those big hundreds,” said the Captain. “I know the importance of getting big runs and when the guy is in the moment, it is important as a senior batter to let them know that 'you need to focus, you need to keep going," he added. “Once you put down a marker, the guy sets guard again and it just helps the team overall,” Kohli explained his target-based challenges for Agarwal. “I want the guys to not make the mistakes that I made as a youngster and learn from them quickly so that they can be world-class players very soon," he said. Vision and the ability to think about the future of his fellow teammates has not only made Kohli an excellent leader of the team in the longest and the most demanding format of the game, but has also made him the leader of the team with the best record in the world right now. Pre-planned or not, Tim Paine should have shown similar flexibility in his approach towards Warner's heroic display with the bat because the win against Pakistan was almost certain. 7. In a country where cricket is regarded as no less than a religion, India has been biased towards the gentleman's game over the years. While cricket continues to hog the limelight, other sports including football remain on the sidelines with comparatively lower fanfare. But, the times are changing and the gap, that was once feared irreversible, has reduced considerably. With a keen interest from the younger generation, football as a sport has surely broken new ground in the country. The football contests are short, crisp and probably more exciting than the cricketing contests we've been used to watching with our parents. However, despite an increasing interest in football, people in this part of the world appear to be more interested in foreign leagues like the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga. Every now and then, one can find themselves in a brief conversation about India's lack of producing a well-equipped football unit - one that can help the country qualify for the coveted FIFA World Cup. But, the conversation generally ends as soon as the players return to the pitch after half-time during a Premier League clash over the weekend. While the love for the sport is a great motivator to drive its popularity in any country, for a nation to truly make a mark on the ever-competitive world stage, its domestic leagues need support to nurture young talents so as to turn them into future stars - something that has eluded I-League over the years. © I-League It was in 1996 that India began its first domestic league known as the National Football League, rechristened as I-League in 2007. But, despite being around for almost 23 years, the country's premier football league is still an alien in India. If the lack of fanfare and viewership marred its popularity, I-League was dealt with a major blow after the Kuala Lumpur-based Asian Football Confederation (AFC), along with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), elevated the cash-rich Indian Super League (ISL) to the status of India's premier league earlier this October. From celebrity owners, prominent foreign coaches and players to a huge influx of money from IMG-Reliance, the ISL, in its brief existence, managed to achieve what I-League couldn't in years. Since then, I-League has played a second fiddle to the ISL with bare minimum viewership and lack of funds. © I-League But, despite lack of commercial interests and hosting games in half-empty stadiums, the I-League isn't deterred to serve its all-important purpose - nurturing young talents and providing the much-needed arsenal to ensure Indian football continues to grow in its bid to secure World Cup qualification. And, that's what the country's premier league aims for in its upcoming 13th season. Kick-starting on November 30, with Mohun Bagan FC taking on Aizawl FC in Mizoram, the 13th edition of the I-League will feature 11 teams, with the induction of TRAU FC, winners of the Hero Second division last season. In a first, fans from across the country, this season, will witness two local derbies - the legendary Kolkata derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, and the Imphal derby featuring Neroca FC and TRAU FC. For years, we've speculated over the quality of football in Indian domestic leagues and how it's still way behind other competitive leagues across the globe. So, is there anything different on offer from I-League this season? Well, the I-League superstars have spilled the beans. © I-League "Every year the I-League is getting tougher. Each year comparatively we have so much fight. We have the southern derby between Gokulam Kerala FC and Chennai City FC. It makes competition very tough, we have slowly shifted from the Nigerians to the Spaniards. So, we are going more towards the European style of football and most of the teams now offer the same. So, we can certainly see a difference in the style of play," Ajith Kumar, Chennai City FC defender, told MensXP. Peter Lalduhawma, Aizawl FC midfielder, feels that the evening starts to the games this season will improve the attendance in the stadiums. "I think the timings of the matches is one major different thing. Most of the fans go to work which reduces the audience in the stadiums and with 7:00 pm matches will help us attract more fans. We have already seen it in the Mizoram premier league - the fans are much more in the night than the afternoon," he told MensXP. "AIFF is putting in their efforts to improve the season every year. In the last five years we have had five different winners. The teams are better and tougher and so is the league. I believe this year the football itself will attract the fans," he added. © I-League On being asked about I-League's role in grooming and nurturing young talents, Jonathan Lalrawngbawla, Aizawl FC striker, said, "Aizawl FC has always concentrated on the youth and we already have U13, U15, U16, U17 and U19 teams. So, this coming I-League will also be very interesting for us as there are many young talented players in the team. So, it will be a new experience for the team". “Over the years the Hero I-League has been scouting and providing a platform for future stars of Indian Football. In the 13th edition this year we have 11 teams from eight states and one Union Territory fighting for the top honours. I wish luck to all the participating teams,” Kushal Das, AIFF General Secretary, said ahead of the new I-League season. Praful Patel, AIFF President, also stressed on the importance of the I-League and said, “We are very happy to welcome TRAU FC to the 13th edition of the Hero I-League. The pan India presence has been the unique feature of the league in the last few editions, and is a true testimony to the manner it has played a critical role in spreading the game to all corners of the country”. © I-League The I-League might not be able to compete with the cash-rich ISL, but if last season was anything to go by, the country's oldest professional competition was far better than its counterpart, thriving on its own strength, rather than relying on the grossly artificial publicity overdrive. Unperturbed by their demotion as country's premier league, I-League, with its new season, seems hell-bent on proving Indian football is not just about the money. After all, the beautiful game is all about courage, inspiration and steely nerves, not a vulgar display of breaking the bank. View the full article
  8. Winning two matches in as many outings, the Indian cricket team is undoubtedly in scintillating form in the ongoing ICC World Cup. Giving South Africa a run for their money and then, getting the better of Australia, the 'Men in Blue' are surely living up the reputation as one of the top contenders for the coveted title this year. But, after a fairly successful start in the tournament, the Indian team was dealt with a major blow after it was announced that Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out for about two to three weeks owing to a hairline fracture on his left thumb. After some nervy starts, the Indian opener rediscovered his form on the back of a match-winning knock of 117 runs against Australia. And, his injury surely comes as a setback for both himself and his team. © Reuters In a bid to fill the void left by his injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to fly in swashbuckling Rishabh Pant to England but it's still not clear if the youngster will actually get a chance to break into India's playing XI anytime soon. On the other hand, the BCCI is keeping close tabs on Dhawan, who has been given a week to prove his fitness. It all seems like a bad dream for the Delhi batsman who is one of the most successful batsmen for India (with six hundreds) in ICC tournaments, only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. He may be down, but surely not out (just yet) - something Dhawan highlighted in his recent post on social media. While fans hope Dhawan recovers in time to lead the charge for his team, Virat Kohli-led India will be eager to continue their fine run when they lock horns with New Zealand at Trent Bridge on 13th June.
  9. After dreading the last two episodes of 'Game of Thrones', we're certainly banking on this particular fan theory which is currently giving us some serious dragon fever! Why you ask? Well, according to this theory, we will see more dragons in the next two episodes and there's a trace of hope, in the episode 5 promo for that to happen. © HBO Even though the last episode seemed rather terrible, one takeaway was that Daenerys Targaryen has only Drogon left by her side. Well, it's quite sad TBH because we're not over Rheagal's death yet and we wish the writers had enough bandwidth to acknowledge these silly flaws! Like, how in God's name can't you see a fleet down below if you're riding yea high, over the sea? Well, anyway, yes we lost yet another dragon and now the MoD (mother of dragons), has only one left for her epic face-off with Cersei Lannister. Even though the odds aren't too great for Dany, with Cersei's Golden Company and those giant scorpion crossbows, she is ready for Drogon. Besides that, Dany's advisors like Tyrion and Varys are losing trust in their queen and she's lost her most important ally, Sansa Stark. © HBO But hang on! Daenerys might have a reclamation point somewhere along the remaining storyline and we happen to believe that because a fan theory states there might be more dragons! Yes! you read that right. Now, let's focus on the how! So, these other dragons that we're talking about are apparently Drogon's offsprings who will come back to save the day for their dear grandma, which also means Drogon is a female dragon. DUH! Now, let's look at how. Well, if you've seen the promo for episode 5, you'll see Euron looking at something coming toward him like he's miscalculated its presence. Well, if it's not Jon Snow coming down in a parachute, it's definitely something Euron wasn't expecting, since Drogon was already there and Euron was aware of her (the dragon's) presence. So what could it be? Now let's backtrack to Season 4 and 5 where Drogon is missing the entire time. While Rhaegal and Viserion are tied down with chains in a cave, so they don't cause any more destruction, Drogon is roaming about in Old Valyria, the old dragon city, where she may have laid eggs? Remember when Jorah and Tyrion pass by Old Valyria and they see a dragon fly by there? Yup, that's Drogon for sure. So, anyway, there's also a scene, where Drogon emerges from a cliff and burns a field where the cattle are grazing and she takes the sheep to probably feed her baby dragons. The same farmer approached Dany in Mereen, in a later scene and complained about her dragon ruining crops and cattle. Drogon was just a pregnant dragon feeding her babies and herself is all! So if Drogon was wreaking havoc on local shepherds and eating up a ton of livestock then, her dragons would be full grown by now we're assuming. Which means there could be a possibility they've followed mama into war and are ready to fight for her and their grandma Dany, to burn King's Landing to ashes. And this could also be why Euron is looking towards the sky in the teaser, like this: © HBO Maybe we could be absolutely wrong since we're terribly missing the two dead dragons but there isn't any other way Dany can kill Cersei and her army unless of course, she has something bigger and probable in hand. And we don't mean Jon. Let's see what happens this Monday anyway. Watch the teaser for episode 5, Season 8 here
  10. No matter what part of the world we are in, education is always given a ton of importance. In a way, it is projected as the only key to attaining wisdom, that would ultimately allow us to lead a life we are not only proud of, but one that also takes care of all our material needs throughout our lives. (c) Vinod Chopra Films Yet, what most people, especially in our society choose to overlook, is the fact that an education isn't the only “key” to getting there. A sharp mind, crafty skills and an inherent talent can also bring all that, and much more, to a person's life. Recently, during an appearance on 'The Kapil Sharma Show', 'Student of The Year 2' actor Tiger Shroff was asked by host Kapil Sharma what was the difference between a real and reel college, to which Tiger said that he was not aware of the difference since he never attended college, to begin with. He added that immediately after school he joined the sets of his first film 'Heropanti'. (c) Twitter Yet, if we look at Tiger's career graph, we can easily say that not going to college, and not completing his studies hasn't made him any less successful in the line of work, he chose for himself. Why? Because he had other skills, and a passion for his craft to make up for the lack of higher education on his resume. Just like Tiger Shroff, these following 5 actors also never attended college. Read about them here: 1. Aamir Khan (c) Twitter Aamir Khan was only 16-years-old when he acted in a silent film titled 'Paranoia'. His performance fetched him so much appreciation that he decided to ditch the idea of studying further and got into theatre instead. There was no looking back post that, and soon he became a full-time actor. 2. Alia Bhatt (c) Twitter Alia had just graduated from Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai, when she had to start shooting for her debut film with Karan Johar in 2012. Alia has often expressed that she was never into academics and enjoyed extra-curricular more than studying. We suppose acting was her best bet after all. Look at all the performances she 'dhoptoed' the audience with recently! 3. Salman Khan (c) Twitter Bollywood's big brother went to school at St Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. It is reported that he got himself enrolled in St Xavier's College but never attended because he wished to kick start his film career. Clearly, that was the best decision he made. Right? 4. Deepika Padukone (c) Twitter Deepika went to Sophia High School in Bangalore but could not complete her education because of the constant demands of her modelling career. She did get herself enrolled for a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from IGNOU, but quit eventually to focus on her modelling career full-time. 5. Arjun Kapoor (c) Twitter Arjun Kapoor's tryst with education hasn't been a very memorable one. Arjun attended Arya Vidya Mandir school in Mumbai, where he studied till 12th grade. However, he failed to clear his class 12th exams, and he quit his studies altogether. These Bollywood A-listers with just their school education to back them, besides truck-loads of talent, prove that success does not restrict itself to people with good degrees on their resumes. It'll come to those who follow their passion, work hard to live their dreams and know how to utilise their skills and talents to make a name for themselves and live life king size.
  11. Admit it, working overtime is never fun. Actually, it might be a little fun if it happens only once in a while, and we are adequately compensated for it too. But then, many would say it's too much of wishful thinking because obviously, such a thing does not really exist. As it gets more and more difficult for new-age employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance, owing to the ever-rising demands on their professional front, even a stray comment in encouragement of working overtime can be a pretty huge buzzkill. (c) Reuters Something similar happened very recently when China's richest man and one of the world's largest e-commerce companies Alibaba's founder Jack Ma spoke up in defence of the laborious overtime work culture in Chinese tech companies. What's even saddening is his belief that working overtime is nothing less than a “huge blessing” for young workers. All of this transpired during a speech that Jack Ma delivered to Alibaba employees encouraging the “996” work schedule, which basically refers to the 9 am to 9 pm daily work timings, for six days a week. (c) Reuters Insane, right? We agree! But if you are wondering where this logic stems from for the e-commerce magnate, read this, “I personally think that being able to work 996 is a huge blessing. Many companies and many people don't have the opportunity to work 996, if you don't work 996 when you are young, when can you ever work 996?” How about “never”, Mr Jack? Never at the cost of our physical and mental well-being at least. (c) Reuters But in his defence, Jack Ma thought the following excuse might be a valid justification. “In this world, everyone wants success, wants a nice life, wants to be respected. Let me ask everyone, if you don't put out more time and energy than others, how can you achieve the success you want?” We are all for working hard, and going that extra mile to get the job done to perfection, but what Jack Ma seems to have ignored in this entire monologue is that, there is a difference between working to achieve our dreams, and slogging to get to the nearest grave sooner. (c) Reuters Working overtime is by no means to be encouraged, especially at a time when millions around the world are struggling to maintain their mental well being, due to constant pressure and stress at work. Aspiring for a nice life might mean surviving through some sleepless nights along the way, but that surely doesn't mean giving up the peace and very life in order to live it. So, thank you for the suggestion Mr Jack, but we think we'll pass.
  12. From the looks of it, 'Made In Heaven' is about two wedding planners, Tara Khanna (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur) and the shenanigans that come with planning a big fat Indian wedding. But that's just the surface of it all. MIH is just as much about everything else Bollywood has been brushing under the carpet all these years. The choice between aspiration and self respect, the price you pay for freedom and what it really takes to stand up for yourself – MIH is basically Bollywood growing up. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Alankrita Shrivastava, and Prashant Nair, the show is spread across 9 riveting episodes, each following the protagonists as they sign up for a new wedding, each pulling you deeper and deeper into their personal lives, making you feel their darkest truths so convincingly, you're reminded of your own. © Amazon Prime This isn't your typical 'rich people dealing with rich people problems' narrative. The characters are polished (well, most of them) but the storytelling is as raw and unadulterated as it gets – to the point that it makes you uncomfortable with its unabashed reality. Even though there are a myriad of new characters introduced in every episode, the prolific writing makes them all stand out well. They're not just distinct from each other, they're too damn real, be it the starry-eyed Jazz who fancies everything rich or the already rich Adil who's unapologetic about having an extra marital affair. These are people we know, the people we see, the people we are - in all their glory and all their flaws. © Amazon Prime SPOILERS AHEAD: At one of the weddings, the father of the bride is caught molesting a 'mehendiwali'. The bride offers her Rs 2 lakh as a compensation. Just when you think the show would make a strong point against it, “5 lakh” the mehendiwali blurts out nervously. And that's the kind of bold this show is. Bold not visually, but because they raise uncomfortable conversations that happen around us all the time but are never acknowledged. Can money really buy everything? How far would you go to live a life you've always aspired for? How sacred are marriages really anyway? © Amazon Prime The show not just normalizes relevant subjects like mental health, sexual assault and homosexuality but goes one step ahead in their representation. For once, a gay character isn't reduced to an effeminate caricature used as a device to evoke humour. The gay community is represented as is. Even when the show raises an important point about the criminalization of homosexuality, it does so without seeking sympathy or preaching. There's no deliberate attempt to make Karan's homosexuality a plot twist or use it to titillate the audiences. Gay people are treated just like their straight folks on the show – as people. Karan, one of the two protagonists, is a man who's sure of his sexuality and very much in touch with his sexual desires. Karan's sexuality isn't what the show is about, it's just one of the many parts that make him who he is – and that's normalization in its truest sense. It's not that Bollywood hasn't seen films on this subject before. But MIH gets spot on in the nuanced depiction of how homophobia goes deeper than shame – it sometimes makes you do things that you regret for the rest of your life. © Amazon Prime What the show also gets right is the cast. Each and every actor on the show, however much small their screen presence may be, is splendid. Arjun Mathur's Karan is probably one of the finest portrayals of a gay character ever in Bollywood. Arjun has pushed the envelope and how! His vulnerability moves you to tears. Sobhita as Tara shines as the lower middle class girl who's crossed over to the other side and now, can't decide who she identifies as anymore. Even with all her flaws, she makes you root for her like nobody else. Jim Sarbh is a revelation as Adil. He's so effortless and real, you're convinced of his dilemma even without him having to spell it out for you. Shashank Arora and Kalki Koechlin also do complete justice to the characters they play. Shivani Raghuvanshi as Jazz is a treat to watch. Hers is probably of the most well-written characters and her performance adds several more layers to the writing. The cast also boasts of some brilliant actors like Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, Deepti Naval, Vinay Pathak, Neena Gupta, Vijay Raaz, and Vikrant Massey who leave a mark even in the little screen time that they get. © Amazon Prime 'Made In Heaven' is easily one of the best shows ever made in India. You've got to watch it to know what Bollywood has been missing out on all these years. It's a master class in screenwriting for the Indian film industry. Thank you for this, Zoya Akhtar!
  13. The Indian team may have done poorly in the first ODI against Australia in Sydney, and suffered a loss no fan is proud of. But that hasn't stopped skipper Virat Kohli to take out time from his schedule and have a good time with wife and actress Anushka Sharma. View this post on Instagram Days like these â¤ï¸ð¥° A post shared by AnushkaSharma1588 (@anushkasharma) on Jan 13, 2019 at 4:22am PST Anushka is currently in Australia with Virat, where the Indian cricket team is playing ODIs against the Australian team. However, post the recent historic test series win against Australia, the latest loss has rubbed cricket fans the wrong way. When Virat recently shared a picture with his wife on Twitter, in what looked like a pastoral countryside in Australia, cricket fans on the platform began to troll the guy in no time at all. ♥ï¸ pic.twitter.com/uLa7UwLvMX — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) January 13, 2019 While some shared their disappointment with the team's last performance, others advised Kohli to focus on his game instead of whiling away his time over less important things. Now, we are all aware of how lame and notorious Twitter can get when it comes to giving out their not-so-important opinions on others, and this time was no different. Twitter came out full force to remind Virat of the need of the hour, and here are a few tweets that were particularly hard. They can't seem to look beyond the Indian skipper to acknowledge that Virat also happens to be a husband and has a life outside of the cricket field. Can we stop with the criticisms already please?
  14. Imagine living in a world devoid of the many alphabets and symbols that make up your mother tongue. A world where a,b,c or the Hindi varnmala cease to exist and one syllabic sound replaces the loaded words of our rich vocabulary. Yeah, it would be like the times of our most dated ancestors, who got through life one sign language at a time. Now that doesn't sound like much, does it? There is so much to be said, discussed and communicated on a daily basis, that spending our days pointing at stuff and making sounds in the hopes that the other person would magically read our thoughts, would hardly help to get things done. via GIPHY A language might not be the basic necessity of life, but it is something that was once feared even by the Gods, if the story of the Tower of Babel in the Book of Genesis is to be believed. No wonder it is said to be the greatest boon known to mankind, as every community on the face of this earth marvels and prides itself on the language it uses to communicate with its peers and get things done in life! And things were going exactly according to plan, until the English-speaking 'whites' came wielding the ropes of colonisation. Suddenly, English gained prominence and people were forced to learn, use and adapt it, for the benefit of the colonisers. Today, colonisers might have left, but the white man's burden has found a new home in the minds of the people living in these former colonies. Like they say, “angrez chale gaye, angrezi chhor gaye”. A recent proof of this hangover was witnessed on the global platform of Miss Universe pageant this year. A few days ago, Miss USA made certain comments about two fellow contestants' English-speaking capabilities in a live Instagram video. View this post on Instagram Regina George, is that you? My life, friendships, and career revolve around me being a compassionate and empathetic woman. I would never intend to hurt another. I am grateful for opportunities to speak with Nat, Miss Cambodia, and H'Hen, Miss Vietnam, directly about this experience. These are the moments that matter most to me. A post shared by Sarah Rose Summers (@sarahrosesummers) on Dec 13, 2018 at 9:41am PST Though Miss Vietnam and Miss Cambodia have come in support of Summers stating that she didn't mean any harm by her comments, many are looking at the incident as an underlying leftover of the white supremacy, which extends beyond the colour of one's skin. Language was developed for the purpose of communication, but incidents such as this one remind us of the superiority that the English language has come to enjoy over the years. Why even look at the West when we have ample amount of incidents to quote here in India? Before we go around bashing and shaming the Miss Universe contestants in question, can we please take a moment to consider the number of times we have judged another person for their inefficiency to converse in fluent English, or for having a desi accent to it when they speak? Before we point fingers, let us remember the number of times we have witnessed a person's calibre being judged on the basis of how “English” his/her persona is, how “polished” their manners are and how confidently they make their way around a discussion/presentation given in English. @MissUniverse i wonder if you will still allow Miss USA, Columbia, and Australia to continue in the competition after their racist/ bigoted remarks toward fellow contestant Miss Cambodia. I can't believe these ladies will be repersenting their countries! — Damien D.L. Johnson (@Il_Malandrino) December 13, 2018 This incident is a gentle reminder and a prime example of how not to treat those who may not be very great/confident with the English language. Because English is just another language like the 1621 languages spoken in India or the 6500 languages spoken around the world. So, let us not treat the non-English speakers with contempt, for not knowing the colonizer's language or holding on to their own. English isn't the superior language of the lot, so let's not try to turn it into one. Not being well-versed in English shouldn't turn anyone into a laughing stock. It should be as normal as saying one prefers to have coffee over tea or vice versa. Don't you agree?
  15. iPhone pre-orders have kicked off globally and the phone is scheduled to start shipping from October 26. It is expected to sell a lot more, thanks to its considerably lower starting price of US$ 750, instead of iPhone X's US$ 999. According to reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new iPhone XS and XS Max both exceeded Apple's expectations, and the iPhone XR will continue the streak. The iPhone XR has been slightly delayed due to a few setbacks in production, but despite the delay, anticipation for the phone has been least affected. Now that online pre-orders have opened up, we have a clearer idea of how good the demand is. T-Mobile has already sold out the 128GB and 256GB yellow version of the phone and the same goes for the coral and red 128GB models. For now, Apple opened up pre-orders for contract phones only, SIM-free models of the iPhone XR aren't included, meaning there may be a shortage of supply. Though, the SIM-free variant will be making its way to international markets soon. © Apple The USA and UK have reported only delayed shipping as of now, but given the trend, it won't be surprising to see them completely run out of stocks soon. The iPhone XR is designed to take some load off the iPhone XS and XS Max, and with a lower price tag, the user base further expands. The iPhone XR sports a 6.1-inch LCD display and a notch that has the same Face ID array we see on the elder siblings. The rear has a 12-megapixel single wide angle lens on and the front has a 7-megapixel sensor. 16. There isn't another feeling that's more capable of inducing a heart-thumping rush than realising that you have fallen (in too deep) for someone. Well, on second thoughts, that's perhaps second only to the few other times you went paragliding or bungee jumping in some remote part of the country. But you get our point, this heady feeling is definitely something you can't just ignore anymore. Well, this might be all too new (or old) for you, but tough luck 'cause Cupid has decided to strike and there's no point in trying to run away from it now. So here's how it goes. You feel lovestruck, you've pondered over your cushy feelings for the past hundred hours and now all you really wish to do is come out with it to your lady love. But wait, before you do that, there's something you gotta know. © Dharma Productions Love isn't the first thing that's going to motivate the woman you are seeking, to accept or reciprocate your love, let alone convince her to get into a relationship with you. We know it doesn't make sense, right? Wasn't love supposed to be the pivotal force behind all the matters of the heart? Well, seems like times have changed and women today have decided to give the top spot to other things of significance. While it is a fact universally known that love forms the essence of every relationship, especially a romantic one, women today are seeking deeper connections that are more than just your profession of love. If you are wondering what such a thing is supposed to mean in the times of Tinder and Hinge, then that's exactly where the problem lies and women would want you to wrap your head around it, before you make that confession of love. © T-Series A deeper, spiritual connection is what women are seeking in the long run. This would eventually lead to other things that we all look for in a relationship but the start has to be such. Hence, if this love doesn't happen to be the love you think it is, and you aren't sure if a spiritual connection is something you'd want to invest in, you'd better steer clear right away. It's true that people often drop remarks such as, the “real thing” is not to be found in today's time that's dominated by one-night stands and passing flings, but the real thing is, we can never be too sure when “the one” (if there exists anything of the sort) decides to make an appearance in our life. But when they do, love won't be the only thing on their mind and you're expected to know as much. © Vishesh Films Women want real relationships that are not just a first copy of popular rom-coms. They know it as much as you do, that most of that shit is scripted and reality is by far more trying. They don't want you to be gushing over them all the time or treat their every whim as a priority. Instead, they want the real thing, real interaction and companionship. What that means is you gotta chuck your emotional elusiveness, communicate more, share your feelings, concerns and even the baggage, as openly as you discuss your day at work. What that means is, that she's up for discussing those ugly feelings we all try too hard to keep from others and wants you to be equally willing to participate in it. © Dharma Productions So we guess it's only fair if they want to be sure that you wouldn't run for the woods the moment you need to work through difficult situations and emotions. They want you to basically tell the truth in love, like always and at all times. It's kind of like letting her know, what and how much you're willing to invest in this relationship and truthfully so. We also need to keep in mind that like just the way we can't team up with any random person on this planet to work on our dream project, women also can't settle for just any man who doesn't embody the values they're looking for in their romantic partners. Things like commitment, emotional availability and a spiritual connection become key when women make decisions regarding the matters of the heart. They wish to be in a relationship that is led by their values and not just feelings - that's something we may have failed to realise this long. © Viacom 18 Motion Pictures Women like to be with a man whose character and core values align with theirs. She wants to know you would be by her side when the world begins to shake and crumble, as much as in the moments of joy life throws her way. Women seek such men who have the power to stand up for themselves as well as for others, the ones who are not afraid to feel and definitely not scared of showing it. Women today are looking for partners in the truest sense of the world. They want to share not only a relationship but everything else that such a commitment brings into existence. So you might love her, but if you can't share her spiritual aspirations and celebrate her vision for personal and professional growth, you're not gonna make it. © Jhoom Jhoom Productions It seems women are looking forward to more open terms of sharing a bond that's not tied down by stereotypes. One that lets you be the person you are and allows her to be herself when she's with you. They want to have a say in every aspect of the relationship just as much as you do and they want to pick up the ropes too. It's like they want their men to know that they want to take care of you and your dreams and wouldn't settle for anything less other than you fanning their ambitions, no matter how high they might be. Perhaps, they want to ensure that you wouldn't give in to gender stereotypes and hold it against her if she brings home a higher paycheck than you or stays back for an important meeting instead of cooking you dinner. © Dharma Productions Equality, respect and a certain amount of sensitivity and empathy are the values she would score you upon. Not on the basis of how flamboyant your proposal was or how eager you are to meet her extended family. We've got to match their wavelengths and trust them to be our partners if we wish this feeling to get anywhere beyond the reason of your sleepless nights. As for love, no it's not off their charts at all. It still remains the main footing of all their relationships. After all, would we be even discussing this entire topic at such a great length if she wasn't already in love with you? But for now, being in love is no longer the dominant reason for her to say yes to a deeper and committed relationship. She is looking for more and we can only figure out how much of it do we have it in us to match up to the core values they are looking for.
  17. Most people have this complaint that their training schedule is too boring or too hard. In fact, one of the major reasons why people discontinue going to the gym is because they do not find their training schedule realistic or sustainable. More often than not, the fault lies with the trainers. They put everyone who walks through the gym door on the same generic one body part a day cookie cutter plan without taking into consideration a client's lifestyle, goals and preferences. © Thinkstock Images The first thing that should to be considered when you are charting out your training routine is your schedule and time frame. Everyone starts working out with a goal or a target in mind and your workout schedule be planned in such a way that it helps you achieve that goal. For example, if you are a competitive bodybuilder or a physique athlete and are planning to compete in 12 weeks, your plan should be realistic enough to help you achieve the physique that you would like to present on stage. Even if you go to the gym, just to look good in general or lose some fat and gain muscle, you should still plan ahead. A correctly set up optimum training plan which you can realistically follow in a consistent manner can greatly augment your results and vice versa. Although this may sound really simple and obvious but most people get it wrong. People look up the internet for a workout schedule and download a generic 8 or 12 week cookie cutter plan. However, this plan does not suit your needs, nor has it taken into account various factors like: 1. Health Markers 2. Fitness Goals 3. Training Preferences 4. Time Dedicated Towards Fitness 5. Training Age Now, let me get this very clear. The person you might idolize on IG is a full time fitness professional. You aren't. You have a family and a regular job. That means you can't stay shredded 365 days a year and can work out twice a day. You should be realistic about how much time will you be able to dedicated in the gym on a day to day or week to week basis. Remember that optimal is not necessarily the same thing as realistic. You need to begin with what you can do, before you choose what you ought to do. © Pixabay Always consider fitting your training schedule to what is practical and realistic in your life to begin with, before evaluating anything else. In the event that you think that a 5 day training schedule would be immaculate, you can realistically dedicate 4 days a week towards training - it is anything but a choice, let go of it! Try to focus on what you can do in the days you have available. It's essential to think about what we are realistically able to do in the long term as well. That which on paper looks the best but makes us fall off the wagon on a regular basis is going to produce a worse outcome than something slightly suboptimal that we can adhere to. Remember, consistency is what makes progress rather than perfection. 18. Apple announced the new iPhone last week and the XS and XS Max go up on sale from tomorrow, September 21. The new iPhone XS starts at US$ 999, while the XS Max starts at US$ 1,099, and despite this heavy price tag, people are queuing up a day in advance to get their hands on the new Apple product. According to the Strait Times, insanely long lines have already formed outside 270 Orchard Road, Singapore. Apple has been expecting a high demand for its new product and hence, has already set up barricades and a queuing system outside their stores. Each person can buy up two phones and are given a wristband which lets them leave the queue for 30 minutes. In the last few years, a new trend has started of people lining up to buy these phones at market rates, and then immediately resell it ahead at a higher rate. The demand from the rich, including celebrities and businessmen, is unprecedented, and obviously, they don't want to queue up. © Wikipedia Commons People even fly down to Singapore from India, Vietnam and other neighbouring countries, so that they can buy the phone at the international rate and bring it back. This way, under the presumption of personal usage, import duty can be avoided. The iPhone XS starts at INR 99,900, leaving behind a fair amount of margin for profit. A few members told the Strait Times that this is their yearly activity now. Obviously, the crowd also consists of hardcore Apple fans who want the bragging rights of having the new iPhone first. The hype is real, and last year's iPhone X sales data proves that a higher price of the phone has no effect on sales whatsoever. © Reuters In fact, the iPhone X has received splendid reviews as well as sales numbers. The number of people waiting in line has often been a point of comparison among companies and helps in estimating the demand. Source: Strait Times
  19. Salman Khan doesn't experiment when it comes to fashion. In fact, he's so sure of his style game, that he hasn't tried anything new for the longest time. But he doesn't need to, either. What he wears perfectly compliments his form, and his signature bootcuts still survive in a world dominated by tapered, cropped trousers. Naturally, the moment he sported a new beard style, we couldn't help but take notice. He was just spotted at the airport in a brand new, salt-n-pepper bearded avatar that we have never seen him sport before. Is the beard going to be his latest accessory when he hosts the next season of Bigg Boss? We sure will find out soon! Take a look at his beard. © Viral Bhayani Talking about accessories, however, we couldn't help but notice the bag Bhai is carrying. The Louis Vuitton Roadster duffle bag is a classic, and it costs a whopping Rs 1.28 Lakhs, approximately. However, does it manage to steal the thunder of his brand new beard? Hell no. Try harder, bag. © Viral Bhayani Even though Salman is maintaining his signature jeans and T-shirt aesthetic, the grey fitted T-shirt is a welcome deviation from the usual black he swears by. We love the nonchalance that the outfit exudes. © Viral Bhayani Coming to accessories, Salman of course has his favourite bracelet on. Other than that, he decided to keep it minimal with statement sunnies, and a belt that goes perfectly with his boots. © Viral Bhayani Everything said and done, however, we just can't get over that brand new, badass salt-n-pepper beard!
  20. Sometimes in life it takes time to completely close the 'X-Files'. By the X-Files I obviously mean someone's baggage from a past relationship. A lot of people want to move forward from an incomplete or bad relationship to get over the last person they were dating as soon as possible. While there are other ways to do it, the easiest way is to jump to another person, just so you can forget the last person you were dating. A lot of women adopt this process as well and sometimes they're not able to get over their ex. © Fox Star Studios But if you're with someone or like someone and have an inkling they're still hung up over their ex, you should definitely give them their due time and space to completely get over whatever they're hung up on, before you move any further. If you don't do that, you'll always find yourself compromising situations you rather not be a part of! Here are 5 obvious yet subtle warning signs she's not over her ex and you need to movie out of her way pronto! (1) She Will Keep Bringing Him Up In Conversations Be it a negative conversation or a positive one about her past, her ex seems to come up a lot. If it's a girl you're meeting for the first time and she randomly talks about her ex-boyfriend a lot, you have to know she's not entirely over him. Yes, if it's a new relationship, talking about your past is healthy, in order to know your SO a little better. But if her past keeps coming up in conversations she has with you then you should be wary about the fact that she's not over her ex boyfriend entirely. (2) He's Everywhere You Guys Plan To Go She invites you to a friend's party, he's there. She asks you to accompany her to her favourite bar, he's there. She takes you out to a pet festival and he's there with his dog. Coincidence? I think not! Either she knows the places he frequents so she can take you there and make him jealous or catch a glimpse of him or she just wants to run into him because she's not over him! If you see that happen a lot, then you know she's not over him! (3) She's A Different Person Around Him If she's still into her ex, you will notice her body language change accordingly, whenever he's around. She'll either become very conscious of his presence and behave awkwardly or she'll put her arms around you to make him jealous. If she is indifferent towards his presence, then you have nothing to worry about. (4) She Compares Her Current Situation To Her Past If you find yourself or the situation you're in with her a constant comparison to her past, then she's definitely still delving into it. It's not your fault if she compares you, so don't take it like that. Every relationship is different and if she's continuously comparing you, she needs to get over her past! (5) She's Constantly In Touch With Him While it's healthy to end a relationship in a good way or end it on amicable terms and it's okay to remain friends with your ex, if there is really nothing left there, it's not okay if she's chatting and talking to him every day, while you're around. Even if they're talking over the phone often, there is definitely something to worry about. It definitely means there is some unfinished business there. So, it's really not rocket science to figure if the girl you're into is in fact still into her ex. You just need to pay attention to these subtle, yet obvious signs and save yourself some trouble!
  21. When I thought of Aquaman, I just thought of Vincent Chase wearing that godawful orange suit as he took on the role in the James Cameron directed movie on the show 'Entourage'. But, that happened a long time ago. Now, instead of Adrian Grenier playing the superhero in a movie that never even existed, we have a super badass Aquaman with his own movie coming out this year. The Jason Momoa starring superhero movie by DC will release towards the end of this year and that's a long wait, but the first trailer just dropped and well, going by that, it'll surely be worth it. ` Let's dive into the incredible trailer, shall we? (Yes, pun totally intended) It starts with somewhat of an origin story about the birth of Arthur Curry aka Aquaman and then him realizing his superpowers as a kid. Then, obviously there's a twist, a Thor style twist where he has to battle his own brother for the control of the underwater world. His half-brother Orm is about to declare war on the surface world and he's the only one who can stop him. Aquaman is not interested in leading anyone but after the 'worst pep talk' by Mera, played by Amber Heard, he knows what he has to do, save the freaking world; obviously, after all it's a superhero movie. With out of this world visuals to Jason Momoa turning a character turning a character that was a laughing stock for the longest time into something so cool, this movie is totally worth looking forward to. Maybe it will be the saving grace DC needs after 'Justice League'. Along with Jason Momoa and Amber Heard, the movie stars Nicole Kidman as the mother of Aquaman and Patrick Wilson as his warmongering half-brother Orm. Here's the trailer:
  22. Shah Rukh Khan is called King Khan for a reason, and no one can even come close to him in the league of superstars. When you think of Bollywood, you think of SRK, that's a given. But apparently, his iconic status in the film industry didn't exactly translate to his bank account this year, as he was nowhere to be found on the Forbes list of highest paid celebrities. Considering the fact that only two Indian celebrities even made it to the Forbes highest paid celebrities list, we can't expect much, but SRK not making it still comes as a surprise, especially since he's usually a regular on the list. But, what's not surprising is that Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan were the two Indian stars on the list. Akshay came in at number 76, sharing the spot with Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson, with both of them earning $40.5 million. In the article, he's described as “One of Bollywood's leading men who has transitioned to socially-conscious roles, such as 'Toilet,' a comedy supporting government campaigns to improve sanitation, and 'Padman,' about a guy hoping to provide inexpensive sanitary pads to rural communities. He still mints millions from backend profits and endorsing some 20 brands, including Tata and Eveready.” Just a few spots below him is Salman Khan claiming the 82nd spot with $37.7 million. Talking about his achievements, Forbes said, “This Bollywood mainstay continues to produce and star in hits such as 'Tiger Zinda Hai,' cashing in on backend profits. Coupled with a slew of endorsements from Suzuki motorcycles to Chlormint gum, he remains one of India's top earners.” (Did Salman personally request them to not mention 'Race 3'?) Boxer Floyd Mayweather took the top spot, earning $285 million, and was followed by George Clooney who earned $239 million. The surprise entry, however, came in at number three. Any guesses on who this 20-year-old 'self-made' person is? Kylie Jenner, of course, the almost billionaire. If you want to feel even poorer, here's a quote from the Forbes article – “The world's 100 top-earning celebrities pulled in a combined $6.3 billion pretax over the past 12 months, up 22% from last year; 11 superstars crossed the $100 million threshold, more than double the number from the last two years combined.” Here's a list of the top 10: 1. Floyd Mayweather - $285 M 2. George Clooney - $239 M 3. Kylie Jenner - $166.5 M 4. Judy Sheindlin - $147 M 5. Dwayne Johnson - $124 M 6. U2 - $118 M 7. Coldplay - $115.5 M 8. Lionel Messi - $111 M 9. Ed Sheeran - $110 M 10. Cristiano Ronaldo - $108 M
  23. Diljit Dosanjh is undoubtedly the king of fashion, especially when it comes to pulling off crazy outfits. Always seen wearing color combinations that nobody dares to wear, Diljit even packs in a few extraordinary accessories. With 'Soorma' hitting the theatres near us in two weeks, Diljit is busy promoting his film. At a recent promotional event, Diljit showed up wearing a neon bum bag (his latest style crush). Even though we couldn't take our eyes off the bag, it wasn't the only piece worthy of our attention. See for yourself. © Viral Bhayani Caught by our cameras with co-star Angad Bedi, Diljit was seen wearing a blue oversized T-shirt from Balenciaga along with a neutral colour turban. But the one thing that was flashing in the entire look was the neon coloured bum bag that Diljit was wearing around. Courtesy of Tommy Jeans, Diljit ditched the idea of wearing it around his waist (because fanny packs will take care of that!) and instead wore it across his body. While we were still gushing over the bum bag, Diljit pants were crazy on another level. © Viral Bhayani Take a moment to grasp all those flashy colours Diljit is throwing at us. Now notice how Diljit's pants are not just red in colour but made of a soft silk fabric. While we couldn't get over the neon bum bag, Diljit went a stepped ahead and wore a pair of daring red silky pants. He finished the look with a classic pair of white Balenciaga sneakers. © Viral Bhayani While fashion gurus advise us to wear one flashy colour at a time, Diljit just kicked their ass and wore three popping shades instead. What is shocking (other than those red pants) though, is the fact that Diljit doesn't look like a clown dressed in all those colours, but pulls it off with utmost ease and style. The trick, if you wanna pull off multiple colours, is to keep the accessories in neutral so that only your clothes stand out. Takeaway: Dare to wear colours like Diljit!
  24. Anil Kapoor is on a roll. Just two days ago we saw the teaser of 'Fanney Khan' that left us impressed. And now comes the amazing teaser of 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga'. © Fox Star Hindi The movie unites real life father and daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor for the first time and it's a pleasant surprise that you just can't miss. © Fox Star Hindi A couple of hours ago, the first look of the movie was shared followed by the teaser. From the first frame to the last, the teaser keeps you hooked. © Fox Star Hindi Starting with a linear pattern, the story begins with around the time of 1942 when love stories were simple. Fast-forward to 2018, we hear gorgeous Sonam Kapoor as Sweety Chaudhary saying, “Pyaar mein siyaapa nahi kiya, toh kya pyaar kiya?” © Fox Star Hindi © Fox Star Hindi While Anil Kapoor's 'Race 3' left us disappointed, this teaser comes as a treat for all his fans. 25. Kings XI Punjab hasn't had a very successful IPL 2018. They failed to qualify for the playoffs yet again. What's more, they have never won an IPL title. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, are the most successful IPL team with 3 title victories in 11 attempts. So, when one of the owners of Kings XI Punjab passes some unsportsmanlike comments about Mumbai Indians, it's pretty obvious it will make the news. Mumbai Indians needed to defeat Delhi Daredevils on Sunday in order to qualify for the playoffs. Sadly they fell 11 runs short. Them losing gave Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals a chance to qualify for the playoffs. Kings XI Punjab needed to beat Chennai Super Kings by 53 runs or more to qualify. Unfortunately, their top order collapsed and they were only able to put a decent 153 on the board. But, for a team like Chennai Super Kings, chasing down this total wasn't going to be trouble. They managed to win with 5 balls to spare. But, there's a saying. Every cloud has a silver lining. At least that's what it looked like Preity Zinta believes in. After the match, while she should have been mourning her team's loss and knockout from the competition, she was seen smiling and having fun. Did #PreityZinta just say “I am just very happy that Mumbai is not going to the finals..Really happy” ð¤ #CSKvKXIP #MIvsDD #IPL #IPL2018 pic.twitter.com/KWaxSUZYZh — Jo (@jogtweets) May 20, 2018 There is no way of confirming what Preity was saying and there's no way she is going to come out in public and admit to saying something as unsportsmanlike as this. But, if you watch the video a few times, you will cleary see what she's saying. Here's our best guess, "I am just very happy that Mumbai is not going to the finals..Really happy." Whether or not she said these words is something you will have to decide for yourself. For now, all we can say is there is nothing wrong in taking pleasure in someone else's loss. We do it all the time. Preity is human too. She has a right to be happy. Whatever makes her happy. Just next time, perhaps she should wait till she's behind closed doors.
