Chennai Super Kings (CSK) came into the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the defending champions but they are yet to register a win in the ongoing tournament. Playing under a new captain Ravindra Jadeja, after MS Dhoni decided to step away from the leadership role, CSK have lost to Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in their first couple of games. One of the main reasons for their poor start has been linked with the absence of their premier bowler Deepak Chahar for whom the Chennai-based franchise splashed Rs 14 crore at the mega auction. Deepak Chahar wanted to be paid less at the auction so that CSK could make a better squad Proper team man pic.twitter.com/TxucCw1m4o — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) February 13, 2022 Chahar had suffered a quadriceps injury on his right leg and was ruled out for at least six to eight weeks. Now, much to the delight of CSK fans, the pacer is likely to return to action later this month. According to a Times Of India report, Chahar, who is working on his rehab at the National Cricket Academy is likely to be released in a couple of weeks. #CSK missing the services of Deepak Chahar badly ! #CSKvLSG pic.twitter.com/Bufo96HI6t — Barath Vijay (@BarathSammu) March 31, 2022 The report states that Chahar should be fit for CSK's match against Punjab Kings on April 25. Though the outfield was like 'Niagara Falls' as per their head coach Stephen Fleming, CSK looked a bowler short in that game and the dew certainly did not help their spinners who bowled just three overs collectively. Chennai would be hoping to get some wins under their belt before the arrival of Deepak Chahar and for that, they need to pull up their socks in the fielding department. Chance! DROPPED! CSK cannot afford to repeat the same mistakes again because they are set to take on Punjab Kings in their next match on Sunday (April 3) and the Mayank Agarwal-led outfit is filled with power-hitters who can change the course of the match in a flash. The Kashmir Files is rewriting box office history with its record breaking collections that are on a rise with each passing day. At a time when the biggest of films featuring the biggest of stars are struggling at the box office, Vivek Agnihotri directorial is on course to hit Rs 200 crore in just under two weeks of its release. The film has already crashed Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam in Hindi and is currently spoiling Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey's party that is struggling to survive at the box office. © Zee Studios Amid the film’s grand box office success post the release of the film, old tweets of one of its lead actors Anupam Kher have now gone viral on Twitter. These tweets are from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. In these tweets Anupam is asking people not to turn the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits into a religious issue about Hindus and Muslims. He wrote in 2013 in a tweet, “I see some people making Kashmiri Pandit’s Exodus outcry into a religious thing. It is NOT. It is about Human Sufferings. Hindu or Muslim.” In 2012, the veteran actor wrote, “DON’T FORGET DON’T FORGIVE. @mobyshah: please don’t forget the Kashmiri Muslim as well pandith women who went through a similar pain.” In 2010, he tweeted, “My heart bleeds for Kashmir. Politics and terrorism has turned heaven into a hell for its people. Both… Hindus and Muslims.” In 2011, Kher blamed politicians for the whole issue. Pat Cummins finally opened up on Justin Langer's resignation from the post of the head coach of the Australian team, saying the team was looking for a more calm and collaborative approach. The Australia captain issued a lengthy statement hours before he addressed the media in Sydney over the whole saga that has taken the cricket fraternity by storm. "Justin has acknowledged that his style was intense. And it was. He has apologised to players and staff for his intensity. I think the apology was unnecessary. Because the players were OK with JL's intensity. Justin's intensity drove a better team culture and higher team standards. To be better players for Australia, from this solid foundation, we need a new style of coaching and skill set. This was the feedback the players gave to Cricket Australia. And it's the feedback I understand support staff also gave," Cummins said in his statement. © Reuters This whole saga of Langer against the current Australian team became such a big talking point in the cricketing world because of the success Langer managed to bring to Australian cricket after taking over the job soon after the infamous ball-tampering saga. Under Langer's leadership, Australia won the T20 World Cup and retained the Ashes with an emphatic 4-0 win in the five-match series. Cricket fans connected the dots and managed to find similarities between this episode and the one that shook the cricket fraternity back in 2017 when India captain Virat Kohli and the team expressed their reservations with the coaching style of one of the greats of the game -- Anil Kumble. © Reuters Fans said that while Kohli was bashed for speaking against the approach of a stalwart of Indian cricket, Cummins is lucky he is not Virat Kohli or else he too would have been facing a lot of heat for what all that has transpired in the last few weeks in Australian cricket. While we all are appreciating Pat Cummins here and rightly so , remember how we all criticised Virat Kohli for the very same thing , it's time we accept the writing on the wall. — Dolo 650 (@Lost_guy01) February 9, 2022When cummins does it wow wonderful. When kohli does it its egoistic, arrogant. Welcome to india — Sai Vaibhav (@SaiVaib41131476) February 9, 2022How is langer Cummins saga different from kumble kohli saga. I still remember kohli was bashed so much by media and fans but don't see that happening with Cummins. — (@theakshay18) February 9, 2022Pat Cummins is fortunate enough that he isn’t Virat Kohli, what he went through in ‘17 was horrible; everything was same except media absolutely crucified him for the entire saga and till date the bloke hasn’t uttered a single word on the incident, — AK (@rwamit) February 9, 2022Back in 2017, Kumble after stepping down as the head coach had said that the Indian cricket board had told him that captain Kohli had reservations with his style of coaching, adding that the partnership between him and Kohli was untenable. "BCCI said that the captain had reservations with my ‘style’ and about my continuing as the head coach. I was surprised since I have always respected the role boundaries between captain and coach. Though the BCCI attempted to resolve the misunderstandings between the captain and me, it was apparent that the partnership was untenable, and I, therefore, believe it is best for me to move on,” Kumble had said. View this post on Instagram Cummins, on Wednesday, also addressed the criticism he faced from former Australia cricketers by saying that just like they are standing up for their teammate (Langer), he is standing up for his teammates. "To all past players, I want to say this: Just as you have always stuck up for your mates, I'm sticking up for mine." To be fair to Kohli, he too stood up for his teammates and expressed his thoughts to the board on what he and the team felt should be the path going forward. However, Kohli was labelled as the devil in the whole story while the same fans are appreciating Cummins for his statement. View the full article

Sonu Nigam is without a doubt one of the best singers we have in the Hindi film industry. He has been at the top of his game since the ‘90s and continues to command a die-hard fan following. However, in recent years, he isn’t as much in demand as he once was and the reason for that could be how music composers and film producers nowadays believe in auditioning singers. They get a couple of singers on board and record a song in their voices. After a screening process, they ultimately decide on the singer’s voice they think will be best suited for the song. © Instagram/Sonu Nigam Being a star singer with the kind of experience that he has, this whole “auditioning” process isn’t something that Sonu agrees upon and that is the reason we don’t hear his voice much these days in Bollywood songs. Moreover, he revealed in an interview with Bollywood Hungama that he had recorded the chartbuster track Subhanallah from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani but his version of the song was dropped and makers opted for Indian Idol 5 winner Sreerama Chandra’s version. The song was composed by Pritam, who is now composing music for the upcoming Aamir Khan film Laal Singh Chaddha and approached Sonu to sing a song for the film after the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani fiasco. © Instagram/Sonu Nigam Recalling the incident and why he agreed to come on board for Laal Singh Chaddha, Sonu told the website, “Pritam, very nicely he said, 'Sonu you are very special to me. I have a very special connection with you because you sang in my debut. You're a part of my debut. I've much respect for you. I don't want, and it happens nowadays, that a song is sung by multiple people and then one is chosen from there'. Now, this is the trend but I don't want to be a part of. Pritam also told me the same thing, 'This is why I'm asking you to be a part of a song that will not be sung by any other singer'. This was Aamir's decision that 'Sonu Nigam will sing this song'. So since the producer and star has said, so now it won't be that 'Let us make Sonu also sing the song and then compare'.” He continued, “So Pritam spoke to me lovingly and I really respect that. He said that I won't tell you to sing for a track where I know it will be sung by eight other singers. What if your song isn't made a part of the film! Because I had sung the song Subhanallah, the last song for Pritam. When the song in my voice wasn't kept, I told Pritam: 'Don't tell me again'. According to me, I sang the song beautifully. But the song was in Sreerama Chandra's fate so he got it. That's okay. I don't mind if anyone else sings. I didn't ask, did I tell, 'Give me the song? Keep calling me? Keep trying with me?' No, I don't want to.” © Instagram/Sonu Nigam Sonu further talked about how he isn’t an insecure person and doesn’t run after music directors or producers to hire him. And that his fans should be proud of him as he is not a beggar. He said, “Agar mere shubhchintak jo hain, unko pata chale ke Sonu Nigam toh bhikhaari hai, saamne raja ban ke ghoomta hai, par actually peeche bhikhaari hai (How will my wellwishers feel if I started begging for work in secret, while pretending to be a king in front of everyone)…” Sonu last sang for Aamir Khan in the 2014 blockbuster PK where he crooned Love Is A Waste Of Time and Bhagwaan Hai Kahaan Re Tu. In recent times, he has crooned for Akshay Kumar in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shah Rukh Khan in Raees, Ranbir Kapoor in Sanju & John Abraham in Romeo Akbar Walter. View the full article

The film has turned out to be a hit on IMDb as well by defeating Prabhas' magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning. Pushpa is rated 8.1 while the first part of Baahubali is rated at 8.0 out of 10. For the unversed, not Allu Arjun but Mahesh Babu was the original choice to play the lead in Sukumar's directorial venture. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who for a long time tackled the hurdles that came his way in the earlier stage of his career, has achieved massive success in Bollywood with his brilliant acting skills and also his choice of characters. After numerous failed auditions, the actor was finally able to enter the glittering gates of Bollywood, and even though he started small, he never looked back. Then came some of his best projects, which Anurag Kashyap gave, namely Black Friday, Gangs of Wasseypur, Raman Raghav 2.0. Talking about it he said, "Much like the boom in Iranian films that happened a few years ago, Korean cinema is at the top of their game right now. They are churning out some of the best films like Minari (2020). I’m happy that my film is going to Busan, a hub for Korean films.” © Instagram/Nawazuddin Siddiqui For the prestigious award at the BIFF, even Aparna Sen’s directorial, Rapist, will compete too. For others, achieving superstardom amounts to success.” © Instagram/Nawazuddin Siddiqui When asked what being successful means to him? he concluded by saying, “These things don’t matter to me. If I’m able to project a certain emotion in the way I wanted it to in a particular scene, that becomes important." View the full article

Less than two weeks before the start of the opening Test against England, Virat Kohli and Co received good news as wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant joined the Indian team after recovering from COVID-19. Pant had tested for the dreaded virus on July 8 and was put in mandatory isolation for at least 10 days, as per the local guidelines. Although he tested positive for COVID-19, he hadn’t developed any symptoms and his progress was being closely monitored by the BCCI medical team. © Reuters In their absence, KL Rahul played as a wicket-keeper and went on to score a fighting century, helping Team India post a respectable first innings total after a shaky start. After warming the bench during the World Test Championship final, Rahul knew the importance of the match and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands, leaving Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri with a huge selection headache. It's a known fact that Ranbir Kapoor is obsessed with sneakers and is one of the biggest sneakerheads in India. Even though he isn't on any social media platform, he still manages to be distinct when he makes a public appearance. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani His sartorial choices, the manner in which he teams his ensembles with accessories and sneakers - everything screams class. He is also one of the best-dressed actors of Bollywood who has time and again set major fashion goals for many. © Viral Bhayani Ranbir was recently seen with Alia Bhatt at the Mumbai airport. The couple is usually spotted together wearing some fancy athleisure pieces. As usual, Ranbir wore a dope pair of sneakers, that are worth Rs 6 Lakh right now. However, the messenger bag that he was carrying, outclassed his expensive shoes. © Balenciaga Ranbir is seen in BALENCIAGA Arena Logo-Print Creased-Leather Messenger Bag. This is the best type of bag to wear when you are tired of carrying the load of a backpack. A compact accessory made with creased leather, it has a front pocket, big enough to stow all the essentials. © Balenciaga The price of this bag is not even close to the cost of the sneakers. For almost a year, Indian cricket fans and pundits have speculated over the future of one of the country's most beloved cricketers, MS Dhoni. Ever since India's semifinals exit at the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni has failed to don the iconic blue jersey which, in turn, made everyone wonder if they'll ever see the Jharkhand cricketer in national colours again. While speculations were rife, with all eyes patiently glued on the former Indian captain, Dhoni remained quiet and refused to engage the naysayers, until now. On the day, when billions of Indian citizens were busy celebrating the country's 74th Independence Day, Dhoni called time on his international cricket career. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@mahi7781) The day that Indian cricket fans dreaded for almost a year was finally here as Dhoni took to Instagram and brought an end to all the speculations and his storied career. “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired,” Dhoni captioned the post which also contained a slideshow of images from his dazzling decade-and-a-half spell with the Indian cricket team. As soon as the announcement by our 'Captain Cool' surfaced on social media, tributes began pouring in from fans, pundits and celebrities alike. While some expressed their grief over not being able to see him on the field over the past year, others wished him all the luck for his life beyond international cricket. But then, there is Inzamam-ul-Haq who seems unimpressed by Dhoni. The former Pakistani captain did wish Dhoni the best, but he felt that it was not the right way for a player of his class and stature to retire from international cricket. “Dhoni has millions of fans across the globe who want to see him play on the ground. In my opinion, a player of such stature shouldn't have taken retirement while sitting at home. He should have announced retirement from the ground,” Inzy said on his YouTube channel. While Inzamam is entitled to his opinion, his comments can surely irk the Indian fans who wouldn't be wrong in expecting some kind words from the Pakistani legend for one of India's most celebrated cricketers. That's probably why Inzamam further explained his comments by recalling a conversation he had with Sachin Tendulkar during his playing days where he had suggested something similar to the 'Master Blaster'. © Reuters “This is the same thing, I once told Sachin Tendulkar. When you have such a big fanfare, you should ideally end your journey from the ground, after all, it is this ground where you earned such respect and stardom. In my opinion, even Dhoni should have done the same then his fans would have been happier, including me, since I rate him as the best Indian skipper,” Inzamam explained. Apart from that assessment, Inzamam was all praise for Dhoni while crediting him for turning players into cricket greats. “MS Dhoni is such a clever cricketer that he knew how to build players. Suresh Raina and R Ashwin are the two best players MS Dhoni has produced. His level of understanding of the sport was so good that he used to pick players and then turn them into great players,” he said. © Reuters Other than that, Inzamam also hailed Dhoni's finishing abilities before labelling him as a proven match-winner. “He is that player who knew how to finish the match. He is not the kind who will score a century in every match, but he built his innings in such a manner that the team finishes on the winning side. Single-handedly, he could win matches. For example the 2011 World Cup, he came to bat at the No 4 position reflected the amount of confidence he carried with himself,” the Pakistan great said. Like Inzamam, we can all contemplate and try to imagine why Dhoni did what he did and whether it was done in a way befitting of his stature as a player, but the fact remains Indian cricket has bid adieu to one of its greatest servants whose tireless efforts allowed the country to scale new heights in international cricket.
