  1. The India versus Bangladesh U19 World Cup final turned out to be a lot more than just another 50-over match between two Asian countries for the most glorious recognition an Under-19 team could manage to win. After the weather gave the players and fans of the two teams a good scare as it rained for two days continuously at the Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, the match commenced with a low-scoring start by the Indian openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Divyaansh Saxena. However, things soon took a turn for the worse when the Bangladeshi bowling attack began to irk Priyam Gargâs batsmen with some cheeky trash talking in between overs and after almost every other delivery. Watch: Shoriful Islamâs Inappropriate Send-Off for Yashasvi Jaiswal Cricket world has witnessed the famous celebration of Kesrick Williamson and Sheldon Cottrell after taking the wickets of rivals. The Young Tigersâ plan to keep up with the sledging alongside some excellent show with the ball finally worked as the Boys in Blue were wrapped up at a minimal score of 177. Despite a lot of ups and downs in the second half of the match and the rains disrupting the match for a bit as well, the Bangladesh batting order behind and heroic knock of Parvez Hossain Emon and skipper Akhbar Ali, was able to take home their maiden U19 trophy. On-field umpires Sam Nogajski and Adrian Holdstock found themselves to be babysitting the players from both sides with the hopes of maintaining the spirit of the game. While bowlers like Shoriful Islam and Ravi Bishnoi forgot about the gameâs âbeing gentleâ part and abused the batsmen on strike throughout their spells, the officials had to keep their calm and deal with them politely, given the gravity of the situation. Holdstock had to ask them not to do that, with a gentle smile on his face. #INDvBAN Wow ..few minutes ago pressure was on india and now silly point and short leg!! well done #bishnoi ð®ð³.. #U19WorldCup #U19CWCFinal â INCOGNITO (@analonda69) February 9, 2020 The pressure of staying focused and look for the minutest of details during all the appeals India made during the second innings, especially during Bishnoiâs overs was also something they had to deal with for over three hours as well. As far as the third umpire, Ravindra Wimalasiri is concerned, he found himself to be in a unique predicament when he did not have to decide IF a batsman was out but WHO was out. Late during Indiaâs batting innings, the on-field umpires sent a decision upstairs to Wimalasiri to see who amongst Dhruv Jurel and Atharva Ankolekar was out as both of them ran towards the same side of the pitch and crossed the crease almost at the same time. Contrary to the commentatorsâ opinion, the third umpire announced that it was Jurel who had to head towards the pavilion. Atharva Ankolekar and Dhruv Jurel run out was a bizarre incident in Cricket history ever in ICC U19 World Cup 2020. #DhruvJurel #AtharvaAnkolekar #U19WC #U19WorldCup #U19WorldCup2020 pic.twitter.com/3uWrkDQLfn â Vikash Gaur (@thevikashgaur) February 9, 2020 As if all of this was not enough, the evening ended on a rather shameful note when a couple of players from either side got in a physical altercation and started pushing and shoving each other only to be separated by the officials. If you were a spectator, youâd think that the umpires were trying to get involved in everything and were micromanaging them instead of letting the boys play their game, but in retrospect I have some new found respect for the way they managed things on the field while maintaining the flow of the game. 2. I feel the best people in the world are those who can bestow endless amounts of compassion, not just towards other fellow humans but animals too. They're absolutely extraordinary because to garner any amount of empathy for anyone out of one's own species is a difficult thing to do and those who do it flawlessly are truly worth a mention. © Motopaws While a lot of people dedicate their lives to the four-legged, we can surely talk about a few of them who've taken their hard work a notch higher and made a remarkable difference. Shantanu Naidu, a 27-year-old man happens to be one of them and we're glad we have people like him in the world. Not only has the young man been helping out by saving the lives of the four-legged, he has also bagged an executive position in Ratan Tata's office because of his good work. Well, it was a bit of a struggle but Shantanu made it happen nonetheless. It all started when he saw a dog who'd passed away on the road. Before he could move the dog's body to the side of the road, another car came and ran the dog over, again. This disheartened the youth to no extent and he decided to go on a mission to create reflective collars for all street dogs so the drivers could see them better and not run them over, especially at night. © OfficialsHumansOfBombay After making a prototype, Shantanu tested his product on a few dogs and he got positive messages from everyone on how the collars are keeping the dogs secure at night. There was no looking back for Shantanu thereon except he had no funds to make more collars. But his work was commendable enough for it to be covered by the Tata Group of Companies Newsletter. Right after the newsletter was out, when everyone was praising his work, Shantanu took the opportunity to write to Ratan Tata personally to help him fund his initiative. Not only did Mr Tata fund his initiative, he even offered Shantanu a job with Tata Trust. That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship and mentorship for Shantanu, and this is his remarkably beautiful story, full of trust, loyalty, hard work and compassion! View this post on Instagram “I graduated in 2014 & started working at Tata group. Life was pretty smooth, until one evening, I saw the dead body of a dog on the road. I've always been fond of dogs & also rescued a few. So, seeing a stray like that killed me. I stood there thinking about bringing the body to the side, when another car ran over it—I was gutted. I knew that I had to do something. So I called a few friends & made a collar with reflectors on it, for drivers to see the dog from afar. The next day, we went & put these collars on stray dogs. I didn't know if it would work, but when I received a message saying that a dog had been saved because of the collar—it felt amazing! Soon, word spread & our work got covered in the Tata group of companies' newsletter. People wanted to buy our collars, but we had no funding. That's when my dad asked me to write a letter to Mr. Ratan Tata, since he loves dogs too. I was hesitant, but then I thought, 'Why not?' So I wrote him a handwritten letter & forgot about it! Two months later, I received a letter from Mr. Ratan Tata himself! When I opened it, it said that he loved our work & would like to meet me—I couldn't believe it! A few days later I met him at his office in Mumbai. He told me,'I'm deeply touched by the work you do!' I still get goosebumps thinking about it. He then took me to see his dogs & that's how our friendship began. He also funded our venture! I left for my masters soon, but I promised him that once I finished, I would work for the Tata Trust & he accepted my request! As soon as I came back to India, he called me & said 'I have a lot of work to be done in my office. Would you like to be my assistant?'—I didn't know how to react. So I took a deep breath, & a few seconds later said 'Yes!' It's been 18 months since I've been working for him & even now, I have to pinch myself to know that this isn't a dream. People my age have a hard time finding the right set of friends, the right mentor & the right kind of boss. But I can't believe my stars that I found all these humans in one superhuman named Mr. Ratan Tata. People lovingly call him Boss, but I like to call him the 'Millennial Dumbledore'—I think that name suits him the best." A post shared by Humans of Bombay (@officialhumansofbombay) on Nov 20, 2019 at 1:24am PST While we go about our lives, we often forget we have others apart from ourselves who need love and affection which is quantifiable. Because animals cannot communicate with humans, it's a bit of an extra effort to recognise their needs and cater to them in accordance and those who do so befittingly are truly genuine and kind people. © OfficialHumansOfBombay A lot of initiatives such as Shantanu Naidu's initiative Motopaws (https://www.instagram.com/motopaws/?hl=en) make reflective collars for street dogs, so drivers at night can see them better and that helps them a great deal surviving on the streets and not getting run over. We're rather grateful to these unsung heroes who go out of their way to understand the emotions of an animal and we would request you to help such initiatives grow. If you have street dogs around you, definitely get in touch with Motopaws and put reflective collars around them so they can roam about freely at night, without getting into an accident. 3. In a whirlwind turn of events at Tottenham Hotspur in the last 12 hours, Mauricio Pochettino's five-and-a-half-year tenure came to a shocking and, to some, discomforting end, late on 19th November. The London-based club, early on Wednesday, announced in a statement that they will be parting ways with the Argentine to make way for Jose Mourinho on a three-and-a-half-year deal as his replacement. Pochettino's shocking dismissal comes less than six months after leading Spurs to world football's biggest club match - the UEFA Champions League final - which they eventually lost 2-0 to Liverpool last season. It was the same match whose result had instigated Mourinho, who watched the game as an analyst on a sports panel after losing the Manchester United job, to claim that Pochettino lacked that winning mentality when it truly counted. But, there is no dearth of Pochettiono's contributions to Spurs during his tenure as their manager. The 47-year-old was at the helm for 293 games and delivered four successive top-four Premier League finishes, challenging for the title in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 season. And, needless to mention, he took the club to its first Champions League final last term. © Reuters However, despite the team's heroics in their best ever Champions League last season, Spurs endured a dismal start to their Premier League season, winning just three out of their 12 games so far. With just 14 points to their name, the club, that was expected to be in the top four, now finds itself languishing at the lowly 14th spot in the EPL points table - something that forced Spurs to take the unexpected decision. “We were extremely reluctant to make this change. It is not a decision the board has taken lightly, nor in haste. Regrettably, domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing,” Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy. “It falls on the board to make the difficult decisions – this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff – but we do so in the club's best interests,” he added. For a manager whose influence allowed the club to punch above their weight, Pochettino's surprise sacking was quite understandably met with immediate and immense criticism. But, while football pundits and fans rued the Argentine's axing, it was Spurs' decision to appoint the Portuguese which left many bemused. © Reuters "In Jose, we have one of the most successful managers in football. He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room,” Levy claimed. Labelled as "one of the world's most accomplished managers", Mourinho has won 25 senior trophies, including a domestic title in a record four different countries. He has also won the Champions League title twice with two clubs. He now adds Spurs to a long list of previous clubs he has managed including FC Porto, Internazionale, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United. While there is no doubt over the illustrious managerial career of the Portuguese, it is Mourinho's knack for being controversial that has often scared football clubs in approaching him. His career has witnessed numerous fall-outs with players and coaching staff of his former clubs, most recent being United who eventually axed him in December last year. So, he's surely not the right man for the job at Spurs, right? Well, not really. If anyone has followed Mourinho in the capacity of a manager over the years, they wouldn't have to think twice before saying he has a tendency of creating problems, often for the club that has hired him, than the opposition. There is little doubt over his egoistic, and often selfish, approach to press conferences where he doesn't seem to shy away from blaming the players. He is definitely not the nice guy and his idea of playing football is often deemed boring. © Reuters But, despite all the frailties, no one can literally argue his capabilities as a manager. The Portuguese might not be the nicest guy around as a manager, but he surely gets the job done. There is also adequate strength of character one needs to cope in management. Apart from that, if one was to look at his appointment purely on the basis of stats, they wouldn't be disappointed either. For starters, Mourinho has won the league title in every country where he has managed, ranging from Portugal, England, Italy and Spain - something that thoroughly highlights he's a proven winner. Mourinho has won more competitive matches (13) against Spurs during his managerial career than any other side on the opposing end. When compared with the outgoing Pochettino, Mourinho's points per game ratio at United (1.89) was exactly the same as the Argentine at Spurs in the Premier League - something that doesn't make him better, but surely not worse either. The head-to-head stats also work in the Portuguese favour. In the 16 matches (in all competitions) against each other, Pochettino managed to win a mere four games and lost 11 clashes versus Mourinho. In fact, the Argentine has lost most matches in his managerial career against Mourinho than any other coach. If the stats are anything to go by, Mourinho clearly emerges as the more decorated manager between the two. But, past achievements surely can't dictate or even predict the future. There is no certainty that the Portuguese will take Spurs to the promised land which has eluded them over the years. But, it also doesn't mean that Spurs must persist with Pochettino who seems to have lost his Midas touch, both on the touchline and in press conferences. © Reuters For so long, Spurs under Pochettino appeared to be a team on the rise, with everyone marching in unison towards the same goal of delivering tangible long-term success to the club. But the cracks in the facade started to show earlier this season and Pochettino did as much as anybody to inflict the damage. Following their Carabao Cup defeat to Colchester United earlier this year, Pochettino spoke of "different agendas" within his squad and the need to "build togetherness" among "unsettled" players. Since the Spurs' Champions League final loss, Pochettino has admitted he would have quit had his team won the title in Madrid. He has complained about the club's transfer policy and has been heavy-handed in his dealings with midfielder Christian Eriksen. Turn the clock back just over 12 months and you can find similarities between Pochettino's approach this season and Mourinho's during what turned out to be his final six months at Old Trafford. Harmony went out of the window and Pochettino became increasingly outspoken, both against his bosses in the boardroom and the players in the dressing room - something Mourinho has drawn ire for over the years. © Reuters As reflected in Mourinho's stint at both Chelsea and United previously, the path of confrontation and criticism often leads to players switching off from the instructions of their manager and the only way to solve that problem is by changing one or the other. And, Spurs' management seems to have opted for the latter. While many have offered their criticism on the latest turn of events at Spurs, the move to sack Pochettino, as claimed by chairman Levy, does appear to be in the "club's best interests". The club could have probably waited for the season to get through to take the call, but with the transfer window approaching, they probably wanted to give Mourinho enough time to build his own team - one that can help him and the club in reclaiming their reputation. So, despite all his drawbacks (including his condescending remarks), we can all argue about the appointment of Man Utd's failed boss (only in opinion) as the new Spurs manager, but the fact is, Mourinho still remains the wild card you'd want to pick in hopes of bringing in a positive change, rather than continuing with Pochettino and watch the dressing room turn into a toxic environment before a bitter fallout. 4. ASUS is one of the only PC hardware companies that have been doing everything right. They've been killing in the gaming laptop space, networking devices and even gaming motherboards. And now, the Taiwanese company is looking to capture the market that targets working professionals with a laptop that does not cost a bomb and offers great performance at the same time. The company launched the AMD-powered ZenBook 14 this week and we've been using the laptop for a while for this review. It isn't as expensive as its Intel counterpart and doesn't come with the company's ScreenPad 2.0 feature. However, it is still a worthy laptop for daily users who want a light and good looking laptop that gets the job done. Here's what we think about the new ZenBook 14: Performance © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The most important thing in a laptop today is the performance and the ZenBook 14 does not disappoint. Considering the price, the AMD-powered laptop can deliver great performance when compared to other laptops in the same price segment. It is powered by AMD's Ryzen 5 3500U quad-core processor that is cooled with a Radeon Vega 8 GPU. The processor has a clock speed of 210 MHz and can be overclocked to 3698 MHz if needed. When it comes to the RAM, the ZenBook 14 comes with 8GB RAM that can be upgraded to 16GB if needed. In terms of storage, it comes with a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD which is more than enough for office professionals. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla We performed a simple PCMark 10 test and it managed to rake in a score of 3630. While it may not surpass its Intel counterpart or even other expensive laptops that are available, it is still good enough for using as a daily laptop. The ZenBook 14 is not really a gaming laptop and doesn't come with a powerful GPU, so we kind of expected average performance. In 3DMark's Fire Strike and Cloud Gate benchmark tests, the laptop scored 1797 and 10209 points respectively. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla In everyday use, the RAM management on this thing was quite impressive as we were able to run multiple applications with ease without facing any lag or throttling issues. Since we work at a publication, we have to edit documents, images, respond to emails, research topics and use it for communication throughout the day. We are happy to say that even when we put the laptop's performance to an excruciating stress test, we were still able to multitask without any major issue. The case remained the same for transferring large files thanks to the SSD. Design and Display © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The display on the Asus ZenBook 14 is one of the marquee features on the laptop as it has a 14-inch FullHD LED-backlit IPS LCD screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The quality on the display is quite impressive as the colours were at par with other flagship models. There was no sign of over-saturation and the colours looked vivid while watching movies on Netflix. The display also comes with a matte type finish so that it is easier to read documents under bright light. It is perfect for use in an office space where you are generally surrounded by bright white light. The matte finish on the screen prevents glare that is a major complaint on both flagship and entry-level laptop. The display has a 78-degree maximum viewing angle, making it flexible enough to look at content at different comfortable viewing angles. ASUS also claims that the ZenBook 14 delivers 100 percent sRGB range which is an added benefit for people who like edit images on the go. The ZenBook 14 also comes with an added feature for people who are always typing and is engrained in the design of the laptop. The ZenBook 14 uses the “ErgoLift” hinge that basically lifts the keyboard by 4.5 degrees. This lift makes it easier and more comfortable to type on the keyboard. This lift also helps in the airflow to keep the laptop cool and deliver a better audio experience. The laptop comes with two top firing stereo speakers giving you one of the best audio experiences on a laptop. These speakers are tuned by Harmon Kardon to deliver a balanced audio experience. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla In terms of the overall look of the laptop, the Utopia Blue variant looks very sexy and elegant at the same time. It isn't gaudy in any way while being a head-turner at the same time. It weighs only 1.39kg and has an all-metal design to give it a premium appeal. The palm rest, the keyboard and the top cover all feel excellent and are in line with the high design standards we expect from ASUS. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Lastly, in terms of ports, the laptop comes with an HDMI port, a USB-A 3.1 port, and a USB-C 3.1 port on the left side of the body. We were quite disappointed to see that the laptop uses a round pin power port instead of the USB-C standard. The port makes it easier to fast charge the laptop as the Type-C port is now becoming the standard for faster-charging speeds. In addition, the laptop also has a single USB-A 2.0 port, an SD Card slot and a headphone jack on the right side of the port. If you want more security, ASUS has also provided a fingerprint scanner on the top right corner of the touchpad. Keyboard and Touchpad © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The final piece of the puzzle is the touchpad and the keyboard. These two features can either make it or kill the overall experience on a laptop. You can have a great display, an ample number of ports and an awesome design, however, if the keyboard or the trackpad is not up to the mark, it can really affect your overall experience. It's a recurring problem with MacBooks which has made it hard to use the laptop in the long run. The ASUS ZenBook 14 does not have that problem. It uses scissor-switch keys and has a travel of 1.4 millimetres. It is backlit with warm lights so that it doesn't strain your eyes and is very responsive especially when typing fast. The only confusing thing about the keyboard is the placement of the power button. It is too similar to the rest of the keys and sometimes you can mistake it for the delete button. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The touchpad accuracy, responsiveness and smoothness are also at par with what we expect on modern MacBook Pros. You can also customise certain functions and gestures from the Windows settings according to your liking. Overall, the touchpad is very responsive and gets the job done for fast navigation and doing daily tasks. The Final Say If you've been looking for an affordable yet powerful Windows laptop, the ASUS ZenBook 14 fits the bill. It starts at Rs 59,990 and has all the essential ports, features and functionality you need to carry out daily tasks. It looks beautiful and is a definite head-turner whether you are in a cafe or at work. It is a great alternative to Intel-powered laptops that cost more and don't offer any extra performance. If you are looking for a beautiful laptop that can also be used for minor image editing, fast typing, and viewing video content with great audio, you can't go wrong with this one. The weather being the biggest one. Just a couple of days before the event the rains completely took over the tourists' paradise and the open waters in which the triathletes were to swim didn't look all that friendly but Raj and his medical staff and swim directors were prepared for all possible outcomes as the safety of the people was of utmost importance. Thankfully, on the day of the main event, the sun was out, the sky was clear and the race took place seamlessly. To a lot of people's surprise the first three to cross the finish line of the inaugural event were Indians with Manipur's Bishworjit Saikhom taking home the championship followed by Nihal Baig and Mahesh Luorembam for the second and third spot respectively. © Ironman Goa However, Deepak Raj wasn't that shocked with the final result. “Out of the 1000 participants, 900 were Indians. They are used to the hot and humid climate of Goa but what was more significant was the kind of fitness revolution our amateur athletes have brought forward.” Deepak Raj's dedication and years of commitment to bringing Ironman home is nothing short of miraculous itself. For someone who used to enjoy the comforts of a cushioned chair in his cubicle and relish eating whatever he could get his hands on in his youth, this could be seen as the man reliving his initial resolution to bring about a massive change. After swimming in a pool of controversies, Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30' is finally going to hit the theatres soon and the trailer that just dropped proves that it's going to be one of the most promising films of 2019. Phantom Films Ever since it was announced that a biopic is being made on Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30, starring Hrithik Roshan, the film has made more news than most of our mathematics scores combined. For those who didn't know, Super 30 is an academy that trains meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds for JEE exams 'for free'. Phantom Films The 2-minute 37 seconds trailer shows Hrithik Roshan as Anand Kumar, a genius mathematician who is a celebrity among students for his unbelievable success rate when it comes to coaching. However, he gives up his lucrative job to help the underprivileged kids and ensure that every deserving kid gets a chance to make it big in the world. Phantom Films The dialogue, "Ab Raja ka beta raja nahi banega. Raja woh hi banega, jo haqdaar hoga", will go down in the history of Bollywood as one of the most impressive and hard-hitting dialogues ever. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the reverse-transformation that Hrithik went through for the character? He has not only nailed the look, but his accent is also worth an applaud. Recently the biopic found itself in trouble, when Anand Kumar's former students accused him of lying and hiding facts, and when director Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual harassment. Despite surrounded by controversies, 'Super 30' is releasing on July 12.
  7. On May 24th, people working in and around sector 18 of Cyber City got the shock of their lives, when they saw a woman standing on the edge of a five-storey building's terrace. According to reports and the videos and pictures people clicked, the woman was threatening to jump off the building. © for representation Turns out, it was the woman's office building, and she took this extreme step because she was upset that she was fired. Reportedly, she works at a private consultancy firm and was upset and sad that she wasn't confirmed after her probation period got over. When her colleagues heard about it, they rushed to the terrace and tried persuading her to come down. She threatened that she will jump off if the office management didn't hire her back as a permanent employee. In some pictures and video, there's a man who carefully approaches her and convinces her to come off the edge. © Twitter Inspector Vivek Kundu, SHO of Sector 18 police station told The Times Of India, "On May 24, when she got to know that the company was not hiring her as a permanent employee, following the end of her probation period, she threatened to kill herself." The woman came down only after the company assured to hire her back. According to the company manager, she wasn't hired after her probation because her performance wasn't satisfactory. However, according to the woman she was being punished for standing up against the management since "they did not have the proper environment for women empowerment." To all those people reading this story, threatening to kill oneself is not a solution to any problem. If someone is unhappy with your performance, prove them wrong with your hard work, instead of taking such extreme measures to get your job back. Please do not try to recreate what this woman did, this is not cool at all.

Normally, if you want to work at a tech giant like Apple, you would first educate yourself, get the required degree and apply for a job. However, this teenager from Australia had something else in mind. © Unsplash A teenager pleaded guilty to hacking Apple and admitted that he had hoped to land a job at Apple. The Cupertino Giant had heard that the company hired somebody from Europe who had done something similar and assumed that a job would be offered when he was discovered. Instead, he got arrested for his actions. © Reuters The teenager won't be going to prison for his action instead he is on a $500 AUD bond for nine months. The culprit was 13 when he started the hacks and hopes to study criminology and digital security at university. “He is clearly someone who is a gifted individual when it comes to information technology,” the judge said, according to ABC, “that being said, those who have this advantage of being gifted doesn't give them the right to abuse that gift.” © Flickr/TwitterBrian Klug Apple has not commented on the incident as of now and instead stressed that its staff should "vigilantly protect” internal networks and content the hacks. Luckily, no personal data was stolen or exposed due to this hack and it seems like the teenager will now have to work hard and earn a job just like everybody else. Source: ABC
  9. 'Game Of Thrones' is not just one of the biggest shows possibly on the planet right now, but also an eyebrow raiser for a tonne of things. From the conniving plots to the gruesome deaths that might've affected millions of viewers across the globe to the dream pay packages for the actors, there are a number of reasons 'GOT' is special. via GIPHY A leading publication broke the salaries down for us: 'Game of Thrones' season 8 is a total of 434 minutes. Among the actors, the actor who plays the actor Cersei Lannister, Lena Headey screen time's is only 25 of those minutes. Another leading publication reported that her salary is around $1.2 million which comes down to 8,40,03,000 rupees, a remuneration which is on the same level as her co-stars Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harington, and Peter Dinklage. © Getty Images And apparently, her remuneration per minute would come down to $48,000, which would come down to Rs 33,60,000 approximately. And if we consider what action dominated her screen time this season: it would come down to her sipping wine and staring into the void from the safe (ahem not after the last episode: via GIPHY It is important to note at this point that Cersei Lannister's character played a central role in the preceding five seasons as a woman for her unpredictable game-changing moves in order to stick around the Iron Throne. This season, however, her character did not see much light as the central focus shifted to the White Walkers. But earning Rs 33 lakhs per minute for sipping wine and overseeing a war being shot is certainly a dream job we wouldn't mind having.

So it's safe to say that people aren't particularly happy with the outburst. BTW, Jessy is back on Instagram now, she now has just over 7,000 followers.

  12. Grooming for job interviews or the actual jobs can be really intimidating. Especially, if you're a soon-to-be graduate searching for something or are a fresher sitting for placements in your college. The pressure of looking formal and serious overpowers everything else. So here's a celebrity approved guide for formal hairstyles that you could get for an interview or even wear to work. 1. The Simmba-Side Part © Instagram Ranveer is seen in a classic cop look in Rohit Shetty's Simmba. He looks fierce and a man who means business. This is a great hairstyle for interviews. The hairstyle consists of a prominent side part put to rest with a lot of mousse. The sleek cut compliments the moustache. 2. The Fading Buzz Cut © Instagram The fading buzz cut is characterized by tapered sides with a short crop of hair on top. The best thing about this army inspired buzz cut is that it goes well with all kinds of face structures and especially works great with a well-groomed beard, which is perfect for interviews and your beard if you don't want to get rid of it. The contouring of the cut, if done right, can give you a strong, sharp and slick look. It's hassle-free and requires literally no styling or setting. 3. The Mad Men Look © Instagram Inspired from the 'Mad Men', this elegant, clean look is a great choice for working professionals. This style is suitable for straight, fine hair, and you can cop this look by directing your top front hair to the side while following the outline of your head without creating much volume. 4. The Vicky KaushaL Mid-Length Waves © Instagram If you want to sport a 'Vicky Kaushal' medium-length style, then it is great both swept back and worn forward. The best thing about this style is that surprisingly it does work for a professional setting as well. The mid length waves are super versatile and look fab as long as you emphasize the texture and movement of the hair. Use lightweight stylers like creams and sea salt sprays, and blow them dry to keep the hair volumized and touchable. 5. The Layered Undercut © Instagram A 20-something style that is perfect for your work setting. Featuring an undercut appeal, and a layer atop, and a moderate length to avoid a mess. This hairstyle shows a distinct affinity towards a pompadour, but also brings in texture.

I am looking forward to joining their team. It will be an amazing learning experience for me,” he said. What's more interesting is that he did his schooling in Saudi Arabia and moved to Mumbai only after class XII. He also tried getting into an IIT, but he couldn't manage to get in.

  16. What started out as a democratic debate on live TV for Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) professor Madhumita Ray, soon turned into a war of words and might, when she went on national television to say that India should opt for peace and not war when it comes to dealing with Pakistan, post the deadly Pulwama terror attack. Following the debate on Kanak News on 18th February, which also featured Colonel Purna Chandra Patnaik (retd.) of the Indian Army, where she urged that India shouldn't resort to war against Pakistan post the Pulwama attack, the Development Theory & Practice and Sociology professor at KIIT was asked to hand in her resignation. (c) KIIT/LinkedIN Social media erupted after the programme was aired and under the pressure of public scrutiny and wrath, the KIIT management asked Madhumita to quit. “On February 20, I was ordered by the management to resign and leave the university within 24 hours. I did so on the next day.” Madhumita told Odisha Sun Times. However, KIIT has said that public complaints led to this action against Madhumita. However, regardless of what her statement brings her way, Madhumita has stood by her words and beliefs. She told Odisha Sun Times, “I feel what I said is right and stand by my words. War is not at all a solution.” We believe that Madhumita's comment should have been received with graciousness and a liberal approach, expected of a democratic nation where every individual is allowed to keep their point and express their personal opinions, just like how others who disagree with a said opinion are allowed to express their dissent. I know Madhumita Ray too, & I hope better sense prevails in Kalinga Institute. https://t.co/QEeVbbA86E — arkajasingh (@arkajasingh) February 26, 2019 At a time when hate and intolerance come easy, we need to look for ways that ensure that innocent lives are not treated as collateral damage, when it comes to dealing with matters of border security and geographies, as far as possible. But to take away someone's means of livelihood for sharing their opinion, and one that is rooted in experience and concern, is unjust and unfortunate. Considering that Madhumita wasn't even given a notice period goes on to show that KIIT has not just been unethical, but also unprofessional in handling the matter.

  18. Every kingdom stands tall and unthreatened courtesy to the knights in shining armour who hold down the fort against the enemies' onslaught, with all their might. The Indian subcontinent boasts of such mighty knights of its own. The only difference is, they don't wear those glinting armours. Instead, these knights sport camo-prints and put on such a display of bravado that is matched only by a few others. © Arjun Menon Their job profile isn't something you come across very often. You will find them setting up their homes in the most remote areas of the country, or someplace with adverse climatic conditions, marking their territories and standing guard over it, should its borders be threatened. © Arjun Menon These are the men and women who form the Indian Armed Forces, and they are the reason you and I can concern ourselves with all the memes in the world. But how many times have we stopped to wonder about the many life-threatening challenges and attacks these superheroes have to survive on a daily basis, so we get to party until 4 in the morning or get a good night of sleep? © Arjun Menon But somebody thought about it. And decided to bring the unseen side of their story for the masses to behold. Travel photographer Arjun Menon is the man behind the spectacular show of these heroes in their natural surroundings, doing what they do best. © Arjun Menon Arjun had the chance to document how a day in the life of these superheroes looks like, and he spent weeks tailing them across the changing geographies of the land. The end result was 'The Extraordinary' photo-series and the pictures are for all of us to see and marvel over. The Backstory This is a daunting task to accomplish and we wonder what how Arjun got around to accomplishing it. If you ask this question to Arjun he would tell you that 'The Extraordinary' was his personal passion project. Before you wonder why, it's because Arjun himself comes from an Army background. © Arjun Menon Arjun's father was a pilot with the Indian Army Aviation, and ever since he was a kid, Arjun took pride in the fact that his father could fly a heavy, mean machine high up in the skies, performing combat training or helping out paratroopers jump off his helicopter, besides many other things. Arjun lost his father to a helicopter crash 16 years ago, and ever since he had wished to bring the trials and tribulations of the Indian Army to the fore, through the only means he knew - photography. © Arjun Menon The Extraordinary Project Once Arjun decided what exactly he wanted to achieve through this project, he set his plans into motion. For Arjun, the aim of this project was to explore and throw light on the extraordinary feats these men and women accomplish throughout their tenure, without yearning for credit or appreciation. © Arjun Menon The Final Journey Arjun set out to bring his dreams to fruition and sought chances to observe and document the army soldiers in action - practising or in pseudo combats. But initially, the Indian Army wasn't too sure about giving in to Arjun's demands of being sent to secret bases to click the photographs. It took multiple visits to Delhi and some convincing before they believed that Arjun's motivations were right. © Arjun Menon Next? Arjun got to travel to different confidential bases across India to document it all. Arjun shot in some very difficult locations, and the soldiers completely cooperated with Arjun to bring each of his visions to life. The Takeaway Having spent so much personal time with the soldiers, clicking the photographs and observing their workday up close, Arjun released how incredible each of them are. From temperatures ranging between -18 degrees to 48 degree Celsius, and in topographies that would make an ordinary person give up within minutes, these superheroes continue to perform their duty without a word of complaint. © Arjun Menon A lot of hardwork and love has gone into this project, and all Arjun wishes to accomplish through this photo series is to inspire the youth of this nation to consider the Indian Army as a career option. That he says, would be his “mission accomplished”.
  19. Dressing for an interview can be an intimidating task. Your first impression for the interviewers in the interview process will be your clothes. This means you need to put some effort in dressing yourself right for the interview. We're not saying your charming personality and the unique skill set that you bring to the company don't matter; however, the clothes you wear can also contribute to the decision-making of the interviewer. There are so many unspoken rules that can seem puzzling for someone who's going for the interview for the first time. So, here are a few things that you should most definitely avoid wearing to an interview. 1.You should never wear ill-fitted suits Steer clear from shirts, pants, blazers and suits that clearly don't fit you well. You don't want to come across a couch potato who clearly couldn't bother less to get their suit stitched right. © Fashionbeans 2. You shouldn't be over the top We're talking bow ties, bedazzled ties, metallic ties, offbeat colours for suits like pastels or maybe blue. You never know who's going to be interviewing you, over the top outfits only make you look funny and stops people from taking you seriously. That is the last thing you want. © bedazzled, hextie, glittereverything 3. You should never wear jeans to an interview Sometimes, in a situation when you don't have pants, you might want to choose jeans (or worse black jeans that give the illusion of pants) for an interview because who cares, right? No. Everyone cares and everyone notices this. So, don't wear jeans. This is the biggest blunder you can possibly commit in dressing for an interview. © fashionformen 4. You should never wear sandals or sneakers We get how some companies can have a relatively chill atmosphere and that wearing casuals to work might be perfectly acceptable. However, that doesn't mean you wear sandals to your interview. Besides, wearing open toe shoes only makes it easier for the dirt to cling to your feet which, trust me, shows from a distance. This only looks extremely unhygienic and might put your interviewer off. © radsneakers 5. You should try to hide your body tattoos and piercings if possible While we're all for body positivity and individual expression, we're not sure your interviewers might have the same mindset. While some work places might be liberal, you can never be sure that your interviewer is one of them. So, if you really want a job, it's probably wiser to take off your ear studs or any other piercings that might distract the interviewer and hide those tats.
  20. Imagine travelling to an exotic island in California, United States and staying at a beautiful lighthouse-turned-inn, sipping tea or coffee from a cup while looking at the water as the sun sets. This thought is beautiful, but it's also giving me stress as I calculate the amount of money one will have to shell out to enjoy this kind of a vacation. But, what if I tell you that you can do all of this and instead of paying for it, you will get a salary in return? And when I say salary, I mean $130,000 i.e. Rs. 91.6 lakhs (approx). If this isn't the best job on the entire f**king planet, I wonder what is. © Facebook It's not a joke! The East Brother Light Station, located in the San Pablo Bay (part of the larger San Francisco Bay) is actually looking for two caretakers for a historic lighthouse, which dates back to 1874. Don't worry, it's not a haunted house, it's actually a bed and breakfast inn, which according to the visitors serves amazing food. © Facebook So, how can you apply for the job? According to their official Facebook page, it's a job for two people, and one of those two must have a U.S. Coast Guard-issued captain's license. If you don't have it, you can't ferry passengers to and from the island, which is a part of your job profile. Other job requirements are housekeeping and serving high quality food. Btw, you also need the right to work in the United States. The current lighthouse keepers are Jillian Meeker and Che Rogers, who have been living here for two years and are now ready to pass the baton to the new keepers. The new keepers will start working in mid-April 2019, after two weeks of training. © Wikimedia The lighthouse was established to "help sailors navigate the misty waters surrounding San Francisco." In 1960s, it was automated and is now owned by the US Coast Guard and maintained by a nonprofit group, East Brother Lighthouse Inc. If you fit the bill, who will you take along with you? 23. If you looked around you right now, no matter where you are, there is a possibility that every third person you set your eyes on could be sporting spectacles. Yeah, some of those are prescribed glasses, others are mere fashion accessories, while some are wearing them merely to save their eyes from the 8-hour-long scare that awaits them day after day at work. Eyewear has been a raging fashion trend for the past couple of seasons as it is, but over the years, the aam aadmi has also been experimenting with his eyewear designs. This growing rage and a potential for a lucrative business in the optical industry was spotted by an electrical engineer working with Microsoft, of all people. © MensXP A need to build something of his own and a passion to be at the top in whatever he did, this is the story of Peyush Bansal who gave India its leading online eyewear portal - which has since changed how Indians take care of their eyes. An electrical engineer in IT, Control and Automation by degree, from McGill University in Canada, Peyush found himself in a happy position after completing his engineering degree when he landed a fancy job with Microsoft in the US after many failures and retakes. However, within a year of being there, and regardless of the great time he was having at the firm, Peyush decided to follow his heart's calling. He came back to India to pursue his MBA from IIM Bangalore. It was around this time that he launched his company Valyoo Technologies with SearchMyCampus as his first business. © MensXP SearchMyCampus was an online classifieds website specifically meant for students and covered everything from accommodation to books, part-time jobs, carpool facilities, internships, besides a lot more. It became a huge hit and motivated Peyush to explore the e-com space further. That's how he launched Flyrr.com which focused on the eyewear industry in the US. It was the success of this venture that finally pushed Peyush to redirect his attention towards the need to solve bigger, more pertinent issues that affected people on a personal level. That's when the alarming figures of the optical industry in India caught his attention. Peyush found out that around 600-700 million Indians needed spectacles, out of which only 170 million used any. With this data to fall back on and a desire to alleviate the consumer problems in sight, Peyush finally launched Lenskart in 2010. © MensXP Peyush went on to establish one of India's most successful online eyewear portal with an enviable product range that includes spectacles, sunglasses, contact lenses and even at-home eye check-ups for those who can't but wish to enjoy the best quality services and affordable prices.Peyush aims to conquer 50 per cent of the Indian market where half of India forms its consumer base. Move to 2018, and today they sell over 300,000 spectacles a month, with a 1000 crore annual turnover. © MensXP People, young and old know the name of his company and the valuable services they provide. Apart from quality goods, Lenskart today stands synonymous to great customer support, and this aspect about the company has its customers hooked. Hear it from the man himself, as he talks to MensXP about his riveting journey from being an engineer to being the mastermind behind India's favourite online eyewear portal, and how it feels to be a global name in the industry.
  24. Every time a new face with a promise of talent enters Bollywood, the industry lets out a sigh of relief, as talent is something which is still a rarity. Most faces are unable to shoulder this huge responsibility, and either burn out, or vanish - never to be seen again. Naturally, on the rare occasions when someone faces this challenge and wins it, that too with flying colours, and continues to prove their mettle time and time again, people take notice. Vicky Kaushal, undoubtedly, is one of those rare individuals, who has been delivering superb performances - without faltering in the slightest. (c) Instagram However, things did not start out to be all rosy for the talented lad, despite being the son of action director Mr Sham Kaushal. In a candid interview with 'Humans Of Bombay', Vicky shared his story. (c) Instagram "During college, I decided to interview for an IT job just for the thrill of it. I wanted to experience the 'nervousness' -- wearing a tie and waiting for someone to give your resumé to. I already knew that I wasn't ever going to choose that profession, even when I got the offer letter. My dad's an action director and despite his hope that 'Kaushal parivar ka chirag' is going to get a job with a secure pay and a 9-5 schedule — I announced that I wanted to become an actor. But, I'd never known struggle like my father had. He went into films only for survival. When my mom married him - they lived in a small 10x10 room, with a chattai and a chair. My father built everything from there on. He didn't have it easy - he had to hunt for our next meal. So he was very clear even if he didn't bring his work to the dining table, he made sure to let us know where each piece of furniture came from. That's why when I told him I wanted to act - he told me to be sure. Acting as a profession could not be a question mark for me. I needed to put 120% and not have a back up because then you can never put your full effort. So I tore up that offer letter from the engineering job and set out for auditions. My first one was horrifying. It was for a small role in a big film and I realised how far from everything I was. On my way home, I was like 'Vicky, ab toh tune job letter bhi phaad diya!' I was afraid, but I literally couldn't give up. So the next day, I got out of my house at 11 and set off to more auditions. I even started theatre and evolved as an actor. I wanted to learn the practicality. Finally Masaan released in 2015. And that's when my dad saw my performance on a big screen. He was really proud -- when he got a phone call from one of his friends - saying 'Vicky ke papa' He called me in 10 mins saying 'you know what happened? Someone called me Vicky's dad today!' So that's it. The journey from being my father's son to him being Vicky's dad was what gave me hope… things were changing. And my happiest moment since then was when I first bought my own car with my own money. When you're younger, you just say things like I'll have my own Mercedes someday.. Never knowing when it'll happen. So I took my mom to the show room and she said, 'You remember when you were younger, you used to point out toy cars in those shops? And today you're making me sit in your car.' She had tears in her eyes. That was the moment I knew that I've retained my title as being the 'Kaushal parivaar ka chirag,' and I did it on my own terms." (c) Facebook All we can say is, Kudos! All the luck in the world to you, Vicky!
  25. Okay, here's a fact. Not all men are born good looking or can pull off being charming. It's not a given but that doesn't mean that not-so-good-looking men have to spend their Saturday nights alone at home. Not all women go for looks and at the end of the day and it all boils down to the basic laws of attraction that both the genders adhere to, to find the perfect mate for them. © Pexels But the fact of the matter is you still want to attract the person you really want or like and there are some scientific ways to do so, without making any effort to do something about your looks. You can just change a few inert personality traits that will, on an autopilot, make you seem very attractive to any woman. But this doesn't mean you don't focus on your looks at all! Yes, you should focus on your looks but you don't need your looks to seem attractive, is all we're saying. Here are 5 ways to seem attractive to women, which really have nothing to do with your looks: (1) It Pays To Be Funny I know we've said this a lot but there are numerous studies that indicate people who brush up on their humour skills and are funny in general become a lot more attractive than the rest. It's an assuring quality to have if you want to attract someone towards you. If you have a funny bone then you know you're the centre of attention. A quick wit helps you go a long way too. Time to learn some funny jokes we suppose? © Pinterest (2) Kindness Goes A Long Way It's a fact that nice guys don't actually finish last. Altruism always ranks high on the attractiveness scale and it makes for great *** appeal. Always be polite and kind towards anyone you interact with and let her see that side of you. Even if you don't do it for her in the looks department, you'll certainly get brownie points for your generous and kind nature. If you're an animal person, a dog person to be more precise, you've already won half the battle. © Pexels (3) Have A Way With Your Words Women love a skilled orator and a man who can talk well. It also shows the amount of confidence you exuberate. A good storyteller makes a good long-term dating partner. So, if you have the gift of the gab, you're all set to impress the ladies. You can always nurture your oratory skills by reading up on things and having fluent conversations about them with people around you. © Pinterest (4) Your Gait Matters Gait is defined as a person's way of walking and it shows off the amount of confidence you have, just by your gait. If you're a slow walker with shoulders dropped down and a stunted posture, you're really not convincing her with your confidence. In fact, it's a big turn off. Confident people don't rush and walk but meander through slowly, and they always walk with a purpose like they know what they're doing and where they're going. © Pexels (5) Don't Reveal Everything The element of mystery is always important in seeming attractive. So revealing too much about yourself in the first meeting can get a bit off-putting. Keep the mystery about you alive and let her try and figure you out. She will definitely be intrigued by the fact that you're a mysterious being. Even if you're texting her, don't send paragraphs about yourself to her. Don't be monosyllabic either. Just keep it short and simple and leave a few things to her imagination. © Pexels So guys, looking like a Greek God isn't always the answer. There are a lot of other things you can do to seem attractive to her. Just pick out something you're fairly natural at and go with the flow.
