  1. The year was 2018, when suddenly this one rugged looking man, with a chiselled face and olive skin, started grabbing eyeballs every time he graced the screens. It was more than his looks though (well quite honestly, his simple features and boy-next-door vibes did wonders too), people were intrigued by this actor who was seen portraying different characters each time, each distinct, and better than the last. © Twitter Vicky Kaushal was finally here, and what an entry it had been. Women swooned over the chivalrous Iqbal Syed in 'Raazi', while others sought friends like Kamlesh in 'Sanju' and a lover as fun and easy-going as Vicky in 'Manmarziyaan'. However, it is 2019 that witnessed Vicky Kaushal's greatest arrival and how! Vicky's 'Uri' broke multiple industry records and put him right at the top in Bollywood. © Twitter He is currently one of the busiest and most sought after stars in the Hindi film industry and there's no guessing why. Directors love him, but his fans are absolute nuts over this guy. © Reuters Yet, all this success, popularity and fame hasn't gotten into his head one bit. And fans love him for being so rooted and humble at all times. Take, for instance, this recent Twitter exchange between Vicky and one of his fans. © Twitter The fan tweeted, saying: @vickykaushal09 my wifey saw you today in the jam jam cafe, was sitting next to your table but too shy to come up and talk. And thought that privacy should be given to the stars. I am saying hi ð on her behalf and we really love your acting. Take care!! — KapilArtistry (@ArtistryKapil) June 12, 2019 Vicky decided to respond to this honest admission and message, and tweeted to Kapil. Pass my regards. I appreciate her for respecting my privacy. Next time, feel free, I'd be happy to have a conversation :) https://t.co/4Si2zSUpaV — Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) June 12, 2019 Not only was that a wonderful gesture on Vicky's part, but his thoughtfulness in suggesting that they introduce themselves the next time is truly heartwarming. Fellow fans cannot seem to get over his humility either. Such a humble person you areðâ¤ @vickykaushal09 — Vaanya Bansal (@BansalVaanya) June 12, 2019 How sweet and kind of you... ððð — Priya Arya (@priyasris) June 13, 2019 This is so heart warming to read. Not only a brilliant actor but a good person. Hope I can meet you 1 day 2. Cant wait for bhoot although I hate horror films...only 4 u — VGThoughts (@VGthoughts) June 12, 2019 Traits of a superstar-in-the-making.... — Jayesh Kumar Dey (@dey_jayesh) June 13, 2019 This is called a HUMAN BEING . Thanks for making your fans special. — manish only (@manishs90616427) June 13, 2019
  2. When it comes to men's accessories, watches win the race hands down, and rightfully so. They no longer just serve as devices that tell you the time, but have transformed themselves into indicators of one's 'woke'-ness, when it comes to fashion consciousness. While the market is saturated with thousands of choices, the only way to steal the limelight is choosing something that is unapologetically conspicuous, while not compromising on the sophistication scale. One brand that has decoded the formula of arriving at that perfect balance, is Swatch. When Swatch launched its 'Big Bold' collection, watch enthusiasts were blessed with a line that not only was extremely fashionable, but also boasted of a rare aesthetic that was phenomenally playful. (c) Swatch (c) Swatch Armed with a massive Ø47mm watch head covered with a slightly curved glass, the Big Bold Collection stays true to what it promised. The 6 variants with unique colours proved themselves worthy enough to take the urban streetwear game to the next level. (c) Swatch (c) Swatch Encouraged by the utterly positive response, Swatch decided to collaborate with one of the leading fashion labels in the world, 'A Bathing Ape', commonly known as 'Bape'. What came out of the collab is functionally one of the coolest things that we have witnessed. (c) MensXP SwatchXBape resulted in one of the funkiest watches the world has seen - 'Big Bold Bape The World Watch'. The pre-launch global event for that was organised on the 31st of May in Tokyo. (c) Swatch The collaboration resulted in a super cool collection of 6 watches inspired by (mega)-cities and the globe, namely, Bern, London, New York City, Paris, Tokyo and the entire planet. All six models feature a newly designed signature BAPE® camo pattern as well as the Ape Head logo on the hour hand and the lower strap, while the enhanced Swatch logo is invocative of the watchmaker's debut in the 1980s. The five city watches are numbered and limited to either 983 or 1993 pieces, paying tribute to each brand's respective birth year. Together with the sixth model BIG BOLD BAPE The World, this limited-edition collection shouts out to big personalities, celebrating the world, diversity and time. However, only the World watch will be available in India. (c) Swatch The World Watch definitely counts as a piece which is a statement collectible, being a part of an exclusive limited collection with a limited number of pieces. It will be available only at the Swatch exclusive store in Palladium mall, Mumbai. Launching on the 15th of June, this limited edition piece will cost INR 9250/-. (c) Swatch All we can say is that for watch enthusiasts, this collaboration right here definitely marks one of those rare instances where two fashion giants together gave rise to something so unique yet functional, which will be appreciated by connoisseurs and novices alike.
  3. Winning two matches in as many outings, the Indian cricket team is undoubtedly in scintillating form in the ongoing ICC World Cup. Giving South Africa a run for their money and then, getting the better of Australia, the 'Men in Blue' are surely living up the reputation as one of the top contenders for the coveted title this year. But, after a fairly successful start in the tournament, the Indian team was dealt with a major blow after it was announced that Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out for about two to three weeks owing to a hairline fracture on his left thumb. After some nervy starts, the Indian opener rediscovered his form on the back of a match-winning knock of 117 runs against Australia. And, his injury surely comes as a setback for both himself and his team. © Reuters In a bid to fill the void left by his injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to fly in swashbuckling Rishabh Pant to England but it's still not clear if the youngster will actually get a chance to break into India's playing XI anytime soon. On the other hand, the BCCI is keeping close tabs on Dhawan, who has been given a week to prove his fitness. It all seems like a bad dream for the Delhi batsman who is one of the most successful batsmen for India (with six hundreds) in ICC tournaments, only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. He may be down, but surely not out (just yet) - something Dhawan highlighted in his recent post on social media. Kabhimehekkitarah hum gulon se udtehain... Kabhidhuyeinkitarah hum parbaton se udtehain... Ye kainchiyaanhumeinudne se khaakrokengi... Ke hum paron se nahinhoslon se udtehain...#DrRahatIndori Ji pic.twitter.com/h5wzU2Yl4H — ShikharDhawan (@SDhawan25) June 12, 2019 In an inspirational tweet, the 33-year-old shared a verse from Dr RahatIndori's poem, signalling his intentions. "Kabhi mehek ki tarah hum gulon se udte hain...Kabhi dhuyein ki tarah hum parbaton se udtehain...Ye kainchiyaan humein udne se khaak rokengi...Ke hum paron se nahin hoslon se udte hain...#DrRahatIndori Ji," Dhawan tweeted. While fans hope Dhawan recovers in time to lead the charge for his team, Virat Kohli-led India will be eager to continue their fine run when they lock horns with New Zealand at Trent Bridge on 13th June.
  4. A word like 'ripped' has probably never ever been used to describe Arjun Kapoor (no offence), but there's always a first for everything and now, it's his time to shine. Just an hour ago, Arjun Kapoor shared a couple of pictures of himself, as proof that he's been hitting the gym. I guess that's what happens when you're dating someone as fit as Malaika. I still want to know the real reason behind this overnight transformation, tbh.
  5. A good part of our life was spent sitting through hours upon hours of lectures and senseless scribbles covering the endless pages of our notebooks. As we sat through six long hours of cramming our brains with “quality education”, for twenty-two days a month, we often wished our classes came equipped with something “more”, something that would make our days a little more bearable at the end of the fourth hour. © Getty Images After years of passing through the same gates, year after year and loitering in the same corridor, we secretly begin to crave for a change around the place we called school. But what this school in Madurai has done for its pupils, is surely one of the best ways of ensuring children look forward to spending their time at the “temple of learning”. © Twitter-ANI Named the Madura College Higher Secondary School, it looks like a train stationed at a railway platform with tiny tots moving in and out of the coaches-cum-classrooms. The entire primary school has been designed like a train that plies between Madurai and Chennai and looks every bit like an IRCTC train. © Twitter-ANI From the markings of the train, to the details painted on the walls of the school, this school-cum-train is giving us all the feels of a passenger waiting on the platform to jump aboard the train for a ride of their lives. The smiling faces of the young students roaming about the premises in their uniforms and wide grins only prove how happy and excited they are to be there. People have also lauded this move and praised the initiative taken by the school management to make the space more interesting for young kids. A wonderful theme, imagining school as vehicle to accept intake of uneducated raw state of Mind and transport them to a state of educated one. — S Samanta (@suksa) June 12, 2019 Nice Creativity...Creative Minds At Work — Bhoot Purv Sainik (@bhootpurvsainik) June 12, 2019 @PiyushGoyal this is interesting sir. — Subbaiah Naidu (@NaiduSubbaiah) June 12, 2019
  6. Shahid Kapoor is slowly becoming the fashion icon we all should take inspiration from, courtesy Anisha Jain, his stylist. He's one of the few people in Bollywood who is not afraid to step out of his comfort zone and experiment with versatile styles and trends out there. © Viral Bhayani Recently, he stepped out wearing the bulkiest sneakers that we've seen in a while. For a promotional event of his upcoming film, 'Kabir Singh', he wore Abhishek Paatni's crisp white and lime green kurta along with a pair of solid Balenciaga's sneakers, that are bulky and when we say 'bulky' we mean in a good way! © Balenciaga These Balenciaga sneakers come for the price of 950 dollars which comes down to Rs 65,978. For chunky sneakers like that, Balenciaga is definitely a great choice. There is something about Shahid Kapoor's style that is rather enticing because unlike Ranveer Singh, who by the way, is another actor with an admirable sense of style, wears clothes that are wearable. In other words, we admire what Ranveer wears on a daily basis but we do acknowledge that most of his outfits are not practical for everyday life. Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, wears outfits that are practical and can be worn and can also look exceptionally good. © Viral Bhayani And we're not saying it's just Shahid Kapoor, his stylist Anisha has a big hand to play in making his daily outfits what they are and this outfit is a specimen of that.
  7. What happens when you take meat-loving, fruit and vegetable-hating, fallacy-advocating men and design a diet for them? The Carnivore Diet is born. The introduction in itself would come across as a strong one, and you would agree with it once you know more about this new emerging diet that has been doing the rounds of social media galore recently. © Getty Images Popularized by Shawn Barker, a mid-50s strong and ripped world indoor rowing record-holder and an ex-MD, the carnivore diet is a dietary pattern that promotes only eating animal products. Mainly meat for all your meals. And it strongly advocates against eating any fruits and vegetables. It's not known if this was started as a strong contention to the vegan diet or an extreme extension of the ketogenic diet, but it sure as hell makes some questionable claims and promises that would fall flat in the face of science and logic. Here are some of the claims propagated by the Carnivore Diet: 1. Fruits & Vegetables Are Actually BAD For You © Getty Images Yes, you read this right. The carnivore diet goes ahead and makes claims on the lines of fruit and vegetable consumption being detrimental for your health. Even a fifth-grader can tell you the benefits of it, namely being fibre intake, nutrient intake, etc., and the carnivore diet makes an absurd claim against the same. 2. You Should ONLY Eat Animal Products © Getty Images Yup, just animal products and consume meat, primarily, for all your meals. Though the ketogenic diet also suggests eating mainly fats and protein, there are still some carbohydrates in your diet like green veggies. The carnivore diet, on the other hand, is virtually ZERO carbohydrates. 3. Calories Do Not Count Another absurd claim by this diet is that calories DO NOT count. As you are technically cutting out an entire food group, rather limiting yourself to just one food group in this diet, stating that it overcomes the law of thermodynamics is absurd. Calorie counting may NOT be necessary when you have such a restrictive dietary pattern but stating they do not matter at all is downright dubious. A sample carnivore diet and food options permissible in it looks like the following: • Food Options: Meat, fish (fattier the better), eggs, dairy (though most do not consume any due to carbs), bone marrow, fatty meat products, salt and pepper. Basically, anything that walks, crawls, flies, swims, or has had parents (barring humans, of course). • Breakfast: Coffee, scrambled eggs and bacon • Lunch: Steak or chicken liver • Snack: Bone broth or cheese • Dinner: Steak or hamburger patty or fatty fish For me, this diet would go down as an extremely misleading fad due to the following reasons: 1. Science Claims Otherwise Saying that fruits and vegetables are harmful is outright misleading. The fallacy is outright stupid in this case. You will hardly ever find any study showing unfavourable effects of fruit and vegetable consumption on human health. A study by Boeing et. al. concluded that regular fruit and veggie consumption has protective effects against coronary heart disease, hypertension, and stroke. 2. It Is Expensive Animal products all day long, all life? A diet has to be economically feasible as well in the long-term. An all-animal diet goes far off the reach for a majority of the population in terms of the cost. © Getty Images 3. Unsustainable Having an exclusive diet is hardly sustainable, be it any kind of a diet. If you think that you can follow an all-animal diet (I still think it is a bad idea) all your life, go ahead. For almost 99% of the population, this may not be the case. 4. It May Be Unhealthy Eating just meat all-day long adding lard and butter on top of it and consuming it day-in and day-out. You may as well put up a big fancy board inviting a host of cardiovascular diseases and health problems. I'd say that the carnivore diet is just a new addition to the host of pre-existing fad diets and I am sure many people would still fall for it. Like I have mentioned multiple times, it is yet another fad that is far from healthy. Author bio: Pratik Thakkar is the co-founder and director of GetSetGo Fitness, an online fitness company. 8. Salman Khan's much awaited Eid mega-release 'Bharat' is here, and as expected, everyone attended the premiere. As impressed as we were with most outfits, one particular outfit made us take a closer look. We are talking about the debonair stylemaster Jackie Shroff, who even at 62, doesn't hesitate to experiment with unusual elements.1 (c) Viral Bhayani The first thing we noticed about Jaggu Dada's outfit of course is the fact that it looked very similar to what Salman Khan himself wore - an all black ensemble (sort of, with very dark jeans that had about a dozen of zippers). (c) Viral Bhayani As dapper as both of them looked in their cowboy-ish retro fare, Mr Shroff stood out because of a very strange accessory. He wore as a brooch, what looked like a carrot (or is it a turnip?) Well it's not an 'actual' vegetable, but a rather convincing specimen. What is it doing on his chest? What does it mean? Does it have a secret message? Is it a symbol for something? We have so many questions! (c) Viral Bhayani (c) Viral Bhayani We'll just make peace with the assumption that he's just using it as an unusual accessory. Now, we are all for unusual accessories, but this is one piece that stands out simply because how playfully weird it is, and even though it seemingly doesn't belong right there with the outfit, Jackie Shroff is making it work effortlessly. Talk about outstyling Bhai, that too on Eid.
  9. I may not know much about cricket, but even I know that scoring just 105 runs is not great. But, Pakistan had a very disappointing run in their first match during the ICC World Cup 2019 against West Indies. Yep, it was one of the worst performances in Pakistan's cricketing history after scoring a total of 105 runs before getting all out in the 22nd over. That also meant that West Indies team was able to quickly wrap up the match, after winning obviously. But, while the Pakistani team didn't apparently work that hard yesterday, the meme-makers of Twitter surely did. Something like scoring just 105 runs would inspire so many memes, of course. The main point that kept coming up was how Paksitan's PM Imran Khan advised the team to give their 100%. Well, the number is same. 100 Percent bola tha, galti se percentage ko runs samaj liye𤣠https://t.co/tWBMKQbv7M — Tweeterað¦ (@DoctorrSays) May 31, 2019 Maths is still screwing up everyone. 10. 'Avengers: Endgame' was honestly the most-anticipated movie of all time, especially since the cliff-hanger ending of 'Avengers: Infinity War'. For the entire year between the two movies, fans were just predicting, coming up with theories about what could happen and a lot of them actually turned out to be true. (I just wanted the Ant-Man going up Thanos' butt one to be real, but whatever.) So, it's not surprising that ever since April 26th, the biggest MCU movie has been breaking all records left, right, and centre. From quickly climbing up in the list of the highest-earning movies, to becoming the highest opening movie in India, 'Endgame' has broken records all over the globe. The movie completed one month yesterday, so here's looking back at all the great records it has already made and made Marvel Studios over $2.5 billion richer: 1. Biggest Global Opening Weekend With a $1.2 billion worldwide box office opening, 'Endgame' beat the record previously held by 'Infinity War'. 2. Highest Grossing Opening Day In India Beating out all the Hindi movies, 'Endgame' earned over Rs 53 crore on the first day itself and set a record. I think we all can vouch for this one just because of how much of a struggle it was to get first day tickets. 3. Highest Grossing Hollywood Movie In India Again, no surprises here. The movie has earned over Rs 350 crore till now. 4. Fastest Movie To Hit 1.2 Billion USD It took five days, just five days, for the movie to reach one freaking billion dollars. I can't even imagine how much money that actually is. 5. Fastest To Reach All The Main Check Points An extension of the previous point, it's also the quickest movie to reach all the checkpoints - $500 million, $1 billion, $1.5 billion, $2 billion, and $2.5 billion. It took 'Avatar' 72 days to reach $2.5 billion, 'Endgame' did it in 20 days. 6. Second Highest Grossing Movie Of All Time Yes, it hasn't quite beaten 'Avatar' yet, but it still did manage to do so with all the other movies on the list to take up the second spot for now. We all know 'Endgame' is coming for 'Avatar' soon.
  11. Ayushmann Khurrana has been on a roll, and no, we aren't referring only to his career. Apart from playing unique roles and doing absolute justice to each one of them, Ayushmann has also been extremely woke when it comes to his fashion choices. From wearing super edgy silhouettes to experimenting with cuts that have never been tried before in the mainstream fashion canvas, he has been doing it all with effortless panache. His latest outfit reminded us of his unusual fashion choices, once again. © Instagram/Ishabhansali The super relaxed yet functional outfit consisting of a dropped shoulder oversized bomber by Siddartha Tytler and a knit T-shirt by Tommy Hilfiger testifies, but what stole the thunder for us, was his footwear. Take a look. © Instagram/Ishabhansali Ayushmann is wearing the 'Trainer Hi' by Puma X Fenty. It's a pair of sports trainers for women, designed by Rihanna. However, it clearly can pass off as unisex, thanks to the versatile design - not that shoes need to have a certain aesthetic for men to be able to wear it - something stylist Isha Bhansali's woke sensibilities clearly are in tune with. © PUMA We are in love with the edgy matte black exterior, replete with the playful flap design. The fact that the solid cushioning is backed by the laces for a secure hold, makes it a solid performance boosting piece. © PUMA When it comes to how much it costs, it's surprisingly affordable. It costs INR 7,799/- here in India. © PUMA All we can say is, just like the roles he plays with perfection, Ayushmann clearly can step into anybody's shoes - in more ways than one.
  12. Ever since 'Game of Thrones' came to a disappointing and unsatisfactory ending, people are back to talking about how the greatest TV show on Earth will always be 'Breaking Bad'. But, there's a new HBO show that's coming for both 'GOT' and 'Breaking Bad'. As the name suggests, 'Chernobyl' depicts the events of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster that occurred in the Soviet Union in April 1986, and the events that followed it. The miniseries basically dramatizes “the true story of one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history and tells of the brave men and women who sacrificed themselves to save Europe from unimaginable disaster. The miniseries focuses on the heartbreaking scope of the nuclear plant disaster that occurred in Soviet Ukraine in April 1986, revealing how and why it happened and telling the shocking, remarkable stories of the heroes who fought and fell.” Since it's based on real-life events, it's already very interesting because everyone can just basically see what went down, but the actual show is already receiving so much praise and there are still two more parts left to air in this five-part series. Just look at the ratings. Comparing it to 'GOT', And, 'Breaking Bad'. Before 'Breaking Bad' and 'GOT' fans (are there any left?) come for me, yes, there are not that many people who have rated this new series and maybe that's why it has a better rating, but I'm just talking about the current numbers, okay thanks. A lot of fans are agreeing as well. Just finished episode 1. 𥽠#Chernobyl pic.twitter.com/nq0fOgOj4d — Rachael Stark (@RNJohnston) May 23, 2019 Starting it tonight. Chernobyl is so gooooood. 13. Apple has refreshed its MacBook Pro laptops with new and powerful Intel core processors, which means you'll now get better performance out of these MacBooks. In fact, Apple says these are the fastest MacBook Pro laptops it has ever made. That's cool, but the most important change here is the new keyboard. Apple has been receiving a lot of flak for making poor keyboards for a long time now, so we hope these new ones are better. The company didn't provide any details, but we do know that they've changed the material used in its butterfly switch keyboards to avoid the problem of producing double keystrokes. © Apple As for the spec bump, here's how powerful the new MacBook Pro models are: The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bat now comes with faster 8th gen processors. The base model packs a 2.4GHz quad-core Core i5 CPU with Turbo Boost speed up to 4.1GHz, and you can configure the notebook with a beefier 2.8GHz quad-core Core i7 CPU if you're willing to shell out more cash. The non-Touch Bar model sadly hasn't received a spec bump, so the new base 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is now 2.3x faster than the fastest dual-core non-Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pro that's available. As for the 15-inch MacBook Pros, well these are show stoppers. Apple has updated the 15-inch MacBook Pro models with 9th gen Intel core processors. The base model here comes with a 2.6GHz six-core Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speed up to 4.5GHz. Meanwhile, the top end variant comes fitted with a 2.3GHz eight-core Core i9 processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.8GHz. © Apple There's also a variant with a 2.4GHz eight-core Core i9 processor with Turbo Boost up to 5GHz. That, of course, will cost you a lot of money, but it's the fastest MacBook Pro laptop that Apple has ever made to date. All the 15-inch MacBook Pro models with Radeon Pro 555x and 560x discrete graphics, depending on the model you're picking. Let's hope these new ones won't have any heating issues. Pricing & Availability The new MacBook Pro lineup starts at Rs. 1,59,900 for the 13-inch with Touch Bar model, whereas the 15-inch model will come at a starting price of Rs 1,99,900. These updated MacBook Pro laptops will be available in India starting this week and you'll be able to pick one up from Apple Authorised resellers across the country.
  14. Ever since Google first announced its AR glass as an 'experimental' product, there's been a lot of hype surrounding it. But Google Glass didn't quite catch up with the public due to some obvious reasons. Well, after a few iterations, Google has now released the third-gen Google Glass with a slightly new design and improved internals. Yes, a new version of Google Glass is out now, and here's everything you need to know about it - © YouTube The new version of Google Glass is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR1, which is a chip that's specifically designed for AR and VR. These new pair of glasses also have a USB-C port for faster charging. The new glasses now run on Android and comes with support for Android Enterprise Mobile Device Management. As you can see, the new Google Glasses also look a little different, thanks to the new frames. Additionally, it also comes with a better camera, because why not? However, all the advancements come at a price and this one costs $999. It's still less than the original one which Google had originally shipped out, but honestly, as an average consumer, it doesn't really matter. Why? Well, that's because it's not meant to be a widespread consumer product. Google is calling it the 'Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2', and selling it only to business users. That being said, we really hope Google makes a version for consumers too. Like, seriously. We already have a ton of VR and AR headsets and eyewear out there in the market, with a few more slated to arrive soon. In fact, Microsoft's HoloLens 2 and Vuzix' glasses are really popular. Google's current customers and partners include AGCO, DHL Group, HB Fuller, and Sutter Health. So, a lot of people are actively using this product, and so we think it's high time we get a consumer version of this product.
  15. 'Game of Thrones' is over and the fans are sharing their disappointment with the last season together online and people who never watched the show are probably trying to find something new to brag about not watching. Among all the memes and theories and fans just analyzing and over-analyzing all the things that didn't make sense, someone asked a simple question - how would one sum up the entire plot in one tweet? Can someone please explain the plot/story of the entire #GOT series in a single tweet? — Amy Cuddy (@amyjccuddy) May 20, 2019 Well, considering the huge number of important characters and so many different and interesting storylines, it seems like such an impossible thing. If eight seasons weren't enough for a satisfying conclusion to the series, it's pretty hard to sum it up in like 280 characters. But, people never disappoint and fans came through with some answers that were pretty spot on. The replies actually had so much range. Some were proper like this - The worst leaders believe they are good and right. The best know they are flawed and despite having imperfections visible to everyone, they persist. https://t.co/kFbhnrjHUj — Cameron Sadler ð (@RulesByCam) May 20, 2019 And some were basically - Porn with Swordfights. — Half Eaten Chicken Sandwich (@ChickenHalf) May 20, 2019 William Shatner gets it. 16. If I was asked to explain the phrase, "actions speak louder than words", I would probably give the example of the heartwarming gesture of Manjula, an air hostess with Air India Alliance, towards Rifat Jawaid, a passenger in her flight. © flickr Rifat, a journalist by profession, was travelling from Gorakhpur to Delhi and was observing his Ramzan fast. The Iftar time was nearing while he was on-board. Since he was starving and fasting, he walked up to the cabin crew and asked for a bottle of water. We all know how small the water bottles on a flight are, and since he was starving and thirsty given that he had consumed nothing all through the day, he asked for another bottle saying, "can I please have one more bottle since I am fasting?" You please return to your seat." A few minutes later, she returned with a tray full of Iftar food and said, "please don't hesitate to ask for more." Rifat mentioned in his tweets that although the food was more than sufficient for him, what was more satisfying was her heartwarming gesture. ..leave your seat? You pls return to your seat.” Minutes later she arrived with two sandwiches and said, “please don't hesitate to ask for more.” Of course I didn't need more. 17. 1More is one of the pioneers when it comes to audio equipment, and they've made some stunning pairs of headphones and earphones over the years. Now, the company has launched its first pair of truly wireless earbuds called 1More 'Stylish True Wireless Earbuds'. These new pair of earbuds have a sleek water-drop design, and they come in four different colours. Much like their other headphones, even the Stylish True Wireless Earbuds are tuned by Grammy-award winning sound engineer, Luca Bignardi. 18. There was a time when people were dangerously walking around on roads holding their smartphones looking for Pokemon. Well, the 'Pokemon Go' craze may have died down, but you may start seeing people doing the same thing again, except this time for Microsoft's new AR game called 'Minecraft Earth'. That's right, Microsoft has just revealed a new AR game for both Android and iOS called 'Minecraft Earth', and it's essentially a game that'll put life-sized Minecraft holograms of virtual trees, houses, etc. into the real world. Much like 'Pokemon Go' which made AR gaming a thing, 'Minecraft Earth' will also rely on your smartphone as a window into the virtual world. In 'Minecraft Earth', however, you won't find yourself running into, say, a Pikachu. You'll literally be building elaborate Minecraft creations that others can see and experience for themselves. From what it looks like, 'Minecraft Earth' is still the same game which a lot of us have been playing for a long time. Just like in the original version of 'Minecraft', you'll be hunting for resources, exploring new areas for creation, etc. The only difference being you'll be doing it out in the real world via a smartphone, instead of your TV or the computer screen. © Microsoft There's still a lot that we don't know about this game, but it looks like a lot of fun. Microsoft says it'll kick off a closed beta of 'Minecraft Earth' this summer on iOS and Android. We believe that it'll be super-limited at launch and it'll be rolling out in select locations. Don't worry though, it'll be available for free to download on both Android and iOS when it officially arrives whenever Microsoft thinks it's ready for a release.
  19. 'Black Mirror' is all set to return with its fifth season, and the trailer just dropped. Just like every other season, this one looks super intense as well, however, what has captured our attention is the cast. American pop star Miley Cyrus plays one of the main roles, and we'll hopefully be finally able to gauge her full potential as an actor this time, post her Disney Channel stint as 'Hannah Montana' and a number of other movies that she has appeared in. © Netflix Among other notable names, Anthony Mackie, famous as 'Falcon' from MCU, will also be playing one of the protagonists this season. © Netflix As usual, the stories revolve around the impending doom the future holds, thanks to the technological advancements we have been abusing. Miley Cyrus's story seems to be particularly intense, where she is a performer. However, there is also a similar looking doll, that might lead to a crazy twist. © Netflix © Netflix © Netflix There are 3 new stories in this season, and the cast includes Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport and Ludi Lin. Directed by Charlie Brooker (of course), it will premiere on Wednesday, June 5th, exclusively on Netflix. We can't wait! Watch the trailer here.
  20. Following a record 100-point title-winning season, Manchester City chased an elusive dream of becoming the first team to successfully retain the Premier League title in the last decade. The 2018/19 season began with promise and City did what they do best - crush one opponent after another as they launched their title defence. But, as the Premier League progressed further, the Cityzens found a threat to their title defence in rampaging Liverpool. The Jurgen Klopp brigade upped the ante, matching City's every single move in the tournament. The closely-fought battle was expected to bring out the best in the two teams, but the amounting pressure also meant that someone was going to slip up. And, that's exactly what happened to City. First, a goalless draw to Liverpool with Riyad Mahrez's missing the penalty, and then, a 2-1 loss to Leicester City had Guardiola's men feeling the heat at the end of 2018. A 2-1 win over the Reds in January saw City ending Liverpool's 20-game unbeaten run, but the same month saw their eight-match winning run (in all competition) coming to an unexpected end after they go 1-2 down to Newcastle United. © Reuters City's loss to Newcastle saw Liverpool going four points clear at the top with a game in hand. And, the Anfield loyalists believed that their wait for a Premier League title for 29 years was finally going to come to an end this season. But, while the Liverpool fans were hopeful, Klopp and his men knew that it wasn't going to be easy to upstage a team of City calibre. With their back against the wall, City, staying true to its character and skillset, brought their 'A Game' to the fore. The Guardiola brigade bounced back with a 3-1 win over Arsenal and then thumped six goals past Chelsea to make their intentions clear. But, as they continued to cut down the deficit at the top in Premier League, City were humbled by a spirited Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League. A 4-4 (on aggregate) result saw Spurs marching ahead in the European competition on the basis of the away-goal rule. Crashing out of a competition that has eluded them over the years, City and their fans were undoubtedly distraught as yet another Champions League campaign came to a sad end. And, the fact that they were eliminated and Liverpool were still alive and kicking in the event, further dampened the mood at the Etihad. © Reuters Beginning the season with the promise of a potential quadruple, City's elimination from the Champions League was yet another blow to Guardiola's, otherwise, rich legacy. With the dreams of conquering Europe vanquished, City, now, had Premier League to salvage some silverware and nurse their ego. And, after Liverpool's sensational comeback against Barcelona to secure a berth in this season's Champions League final, many believed that the momentum was, in fact, with the Reds to, not only win the European competition, but, maybe, pip City to the Premier League title. But, if you've followed the Cityzens this season, you'd know that this team, with Guardiola at the helm of affairs, mastered the art of delivering under pressure and surely not the one to bottle their chances. With three games to go in the season, City faced their first test against cross-town neighbours Manchester United who were forced to endure a 2-0 defeat. Then, came Leicester who almost pulled off the job, but a long-range screamer from club legend Vincent Kompany saved City the blushes in a narrow 1-0 win. © Reuters After a game of cat and mouse, it all boiled down to the Super Sunday - the day of judgement for both City and Liverpool. While City were just a win away from retaining the title, the Reds needed to win their encounter against the Wolves and wanted their rivals, at the top, to lose theirs. As the two teams began their clashes simultaneously, a 17th-minute goal from Sadio Mane put Liverpool in front, but it was Glenn Murray's header in the 27th minute for Brighton against City that had the Reds jumping out of their seats. It seemed that the pressure was going to get to City and the defending champions might throw it away. But then, a side that amassed a record 100 points last season has got to be better than that. Bouncing back like true champions, City equalised in the very next minute through Sergio Aguero's brilliant finish. Then, a 38th minute header from Aymeric Laporte put City in front, minimising the title hopes of Liverpool. Despite leading 2-1, City and their fans knew it wasn't the kind of lead they'll be comfortable taking into the last minutes of the game. And, an exquisite strike from Riyad Mahrez in the 63rd minute finally gave City some cushion to feel more comfortable. What a decision from Pep to start Mahrez today! BEAUTIFUL GOAL â½ï¸ #MCFC pic.twitter.com/8t5gZ36dlx — ManCityzens.com (@ManCityzenscom) May 12, 2019 Now, flowing freely through the midfield, City found their fourth goal as Ilkay Gundogan stamped his authority with a precise free-kick, beating Brighton shot-stopper Mat Ryan in the 72nd minute. As the final whistle blew away, the Amex stadium was overwhelmed with City's title-winning celebrations. WWWWWWWWWWWWWWinners! 14 wins in a row to wrap up and incredible season! ðµ #mancity pic.twitter.com/ONrqLSGrOe — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 12, 2019 Guardiola and his men did it. Against all odds and great competition from Liverpool, City became the first team to retain the Premier League title in the last decade. Guardiola joined the likes of Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho to become the third manager in history to win the Premier League title in back-to-back seasons. He also became the first manager to retain the league title in Spain, Germany and England. Bumps for the boss! ð ðµ #mancity ð pic.twitter.com/dVEQyujDtJ — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 12, 2019 The fact that City has amassed 198 points across two seasons surely highlights their might, but the form mustered in the run-in - 18 wins in 19 games in the second-half of the season - represents a blistering response to the challenge on their authority being mustered from Anfield. The Reds finished the season with a 2-0 win over Wolves, but their tally of 97 points - which would've been enough to win the Premier League in all but one of the previous 26 seasons - just wasn't enough to pip City to the title this season. Flying-high on the plane back to Manchester last night! ðµ #mancity ð pic.twitter.com/2hTowfIUqd — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 13, 2019 But, despite all that, are we giving enough respect to Man City? It might seem like a ridiculous question to ask given they are one of the richest clubs in the world, with a world-class squad at their disposal and possibly the best manager at the helm, but yet it is a question that begs asking. This is a side that bulldozed its way to the Premier League title last year with a swagger not seen for some time. But, it was their triumph - derived under immense pressure from relentless Liverpool - this season that showed their true character and grit - qualities of a champion side. They might still have a long way to go to win Champions League, but it shouldn't overshadow what they've achieved this season. Celebrations befitting the Champions ð« ðµ #mancity ð pic.twitter.com/gEt1xvI3HG — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 12, 2019 Now, as Liverpool gear up for the Champions League final against Hotspur in Madrid to salvage some silverware this season, Guardiola's miracle workers and their fans deserve every ounce of respect for their brilliant showing. And, as their city neighbours slump to new lows, the 'Blue Moon' continues to shine bright in Manchester.
  21. This article contains heavy spoilers. Proceed with caution! The second last episode of 'Game of Thrones' just aired this morning in India and we're not that thrown off as we thought we'd be. Mostly because there were a lot of predictions made for this episode, and most of them came true. Most off, Dany did take the form of the mad queen and burn King's Landing to the ground, while the unsullied and the Dothraki continued to slew human life: men, women and children alike. © HBO Of course the much awaited fight, the Cleganebowl took place like it had to, sans Arya as Arya was stumbling about, trying to make sense of her presence in King's Landing, after a very strong build-up over her eventual goal, which is to kill the queen (Cersei). Well, she didn't. The queen died an unfortunate death, when she caved, while the roof fell on her and her lover Jaime. So, yes, the makers hurried through the plot faster than Bronne hurried out of the entire series, and we're not wondering 'what next' anymore. © HBO In fact, we'll let everyone else decide how they took in the episode and what they actually expect from the last episode. 22. HBO and 'Game of Thrones' actually made everyone's day yesterday when a single Starbucks cup appeared out of nowhere in a scene and became the most-talked-about cameo of the year. © HBO But, obviously that's not the first mistake the show has made and it probably won't be the last (yes, I know only two episodes are left but I think HBO is capable of pulling that off). Yes, it's a huge show with more people working on it than you can count, little mistakes are bound to happen. But then again, we can look at it in a different way as well - so many people are working on this show, there should be an equal amount of people to just pay great attention to all the minute details. Whatever the case may be, it's still funny to see stuff like this, so here's a bunch of hilarious accidents like the coffee cup or just straight up continuity errors: 1. Queen Of Wigs © HBO How many different wigs does a Khaleesi need? At least two, apparently, in just one scene. Yes, a lot of elaborate braided hairstyles will probably be hard to keep constant, but it does kinda affect the continuity, especially to people who pay attention to everything. 2. Sansa Is A Targaryen For A Hot Second © HBO Back in the first season, the opening credits did show the Targaryen sigil right next to Sophie Turner's name. Well, Sansa was a Lannister at one point, and now she's also a Targaryen. 3. Daenaerys Was Also A Lannister And Not A Targaryen At One Point © HBO Well, similar mistake, again. This time, it was the Lannister sigil that showed up next to Emilia Clarke's name. Well, looks like she should add another thing to her already essay-length name. 4. That One E-Mail Notification Apparently, you can hear someone receiving an e-mail in the scene where Margaery Tyrell visits the orphanage back in Season three. I honestly couldn't hear anything even after putting my ear literally on my laptop's speaker. But, enough people have heard it so, it is a legit thing. 5. Where Is Catelyn Stark's Hand? Kinda a minor little problem, but hey, it's still a mistake. 6. Melisandre's Necklace © HBO In season six, it's revealed that Melisandre's necklace is this magical thing that works as an anti-ageing serum for her. As soon as the red woman removes it, she turns wrinkly and old. But, a lot of people recalled that the continuity error with it since she was seen at least once without her necklace while taking a bath. 7. Stannis' Charger © HBO Yes, even though they live in a world with no electricity, they still need to charge stuff. 8. Jon Snow's Rubber Sword © HBO Okay fine, I agree it would be hard to carry around a large metal sword while shooting for long periods but someone should've made sure there wasn't a flaccid sword flopping around in the real scene. 9. Shireen Baratheon's Hair © HBO Back in season one when Ned Stark's head was still attached to his body, he found out about Cersei and Jamie's incestuous relationship basically because of the colour of the hair of all the Baratheon and Lannister children. Apparently, all real Baratheon children had black hair but Shireen is obviously a Baratheon with almost Lannister-like blonde hair. 10. Where Is Grenn's Sword? Bro, are you picking up the sword or not? Or did you just throw it a second after picking it up? 11. Dead Bodies Disappearing Yes, we've seen dead people walking around on this show but this obviously wasn't the case in this scene. 12. A Poor Knight Not Being Able To Handle The Sword So sad, everyone's doing it so swiftly and flawlessly while you're just struggling and hoping no one notices.
  23. Ever since 'Cyclone Fani' wreaked havoc in Odisha, the state has been struggling to get back on its feet. Amidst the worsening situation, Bollywood's OG Khiladi Akshay Kumar emerged as a silver lining, by donating Rs. 1 crore to the cyclone victims in Odisha. © Instagram Although there might be controversies regarding his citizenship, the fact remains that Akshay Kumar has never refrained from going the extra mile for the country and society. This time around too, he reportedly donated Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help the Odisha cyclone victims. According to a report in Hindustan Times, a source revealed this news and said, "This is not new. Akshay has always been contributing for causes, be it his Bharat ke Veer initiative for the armed forces, or his contribution to the Kerala Floods or Chennai floods earlier." © Instagram Earlier in 2015, Akshay had donated Rs. 1 crore for the Chennai flood relief work. He has also been actively donating and urging his fans to contribute to 'Bharat Ke Veer', an initiative launched by him and the Government of India, for the bravehearts and their families. Nature showed its wrath in Odisha with 'Cyclone Fani' recently, and we lost many innocent lives and there are videos that show the extent of infrastructural damage the state has gone through. So far, more than 30 people have been killed and hundreds of houses have been destroyed, despite the planned evacuation. © Instagram But, Odisha refused to give up and so did the entire nation, by coming forward to support the relief work and pray for their safety. Once again, people of the country proved that nothing can break their spirit. Currently, Akshay Kumar is working on his upcoming film 'Sooryavanshi'.
  24. We had once declared Jared Leto to be the long lost fashion twin of Ranveer Singh, who got separated at Kumbh Mela. We still hold on to that belief, except Jared Leto turned out to be the wilder one. Yes, you read that right. He just pulled off a fashion move that makes the one and only Ranveer Singh look tame. Take a look. © Getty Images Jared Leto just attended the Met Gala 2019 with an accessory that has everyone gasping in disbelief. He carried his own severed head along, which is a custom made piece from Gucci. © Getty Images The OG Alessandro Michele grabbed quite a few eyeballs when he launched this super quirky accessory, during a show based on cyborgs. © Getty Images Jared glittered in a red outfit adorned with diamonds and crystal jewellery all over, and though one would think that in itself is enough to turn all the heads around (no pun intended), he clearly wasn't content. © Getty Images As he showed off his prized accessory to the paps, holding it high up in the air, we got to see the real extent of ruthless versatility that he exudes sartorially, something that is mirrored in the gusto with which he plays all the eccentric roles. © Getty Images You do you, Jared! We're hooked.
  25. 'Avengers: Endgame' turned out to be one of the most well-received films at the global box-offices in recent times. MCU fans thronged the movie theatres in Brobdingnagian waves, underlining the loyal (and almost fanatic) fanbase the franchise enjoys across the globe. For proof, get this. In the very first week of its release, 'Avengers: Endgame' rocked the box office with collections that went well beyond Rs 260 crore. Not just that but it has also managed to break quite a few filmy records, not just in India, but internationally too. © Marvel Studios In India, Salman Khan starrer 'Sultan' enjoys the highest first week box office collection at Rs 208.82 crore, followed by 'Tiger Zinda Hai' at Rs 206.04 crore and Ranbir Kapoor starrer 2018 hit 'Sanju' at Rs 202.51 crore. 'Baahubali 2' was the only film to challenge these numbers with it's first week box office earnings touching Rs 247 crore. However, Marvel's 'Avengers: Endgame' has outdone each one of those milestones by a good margin, even exceeding the success of 'Avengers: Infinity War', which had collected Rs 226 crore in India. © Marvel Studios 'Avengers: Endgame' has managed to wipe out numerous lifetime numbers in the blink of an eye, by becoming the fastest movie to gross 2 billion dollars at the box office in just 11 days. It became the second highest grosser of all times after crossing 'Titanic' with 2.18 billion dollars. Here are the four other all-time biggies to achieve this feat, making 'Avengers: Endgame' the fifth film to score over 2 billion dollars at the box office so quickly. 1. Avatar © Lightstorm Entertainment The 2009 science fiction epic film directed by James Cameron had earned 2.78 billion dollars. 2. Titanic © Paramount Pictures The 1997 epic romance and disaster film, also directed by James Cameron, has 2.18 billion dollars to its credit. 3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens © Walt Disney Studios J. J. Abrams' 2015 epic space-opera film bagged a whopping 2.06 billion dollars at the box office. 4. Avengers: Infinity War © Marvel Studios The superhero film and 'Endgame' predecessor pocketed a total of 2.04 billion dollars in 2018. Even by Bollywood standards, 'Endgame', with its estimated Rs 375 crore collection, surpasses the lifetime earnings of a number of blockbuster Bollywood flicks by a huge margin. With 'Sanju' at Rs 342.53 crore, 'PK' at Rs 340.8 crore and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' Rs 339.25 crore, 'Endgame' might soon turn these numbers into history. However, the fight might still go strong against Bollywood's highest grosser of all times, 'Dangal', which had bagged Rs 387.38 crore in its lifetime.
