  1. Working out at home isnât easy. The lack of equipment, the absence of the âenvironmentâ in which you have gotten so used to exercising and to top it all, finding a constant source of motivation to get off the bed and start putting your body through work right next to it, life can be hard at times. Now, while we can discuss the solutions to the last two problems some other time, I have the perfect way out from the first issue. I do not have a place to do chin-ups, I have no barbells or dumbbells and my theraband just broke. So, how do I work on my biceps, now? Here are four exercises that you can do with nothing but a full-size towel and a chair to give a great pump to your biceps: All you need is a towel and a chair: 1. Resisted Leg Bicep Curl While sitting on a chair, put your right arm underneath your right shinbone and try to lift your leg as if doing a dumbbell bicep curl. In order to add resistance, try to push your leg against the momentum of your arm. Repeat the same with your left arm. 8 reps (each side) Take a 20-second break 2. Isometric Bicep Hammer Curl © Richard Ji - YouTube While standing, step on one side of a towel with your right leg and tightly hold the other end with your right hand. Make sure that the towel stays vertical and try to pull it with your hand as hard as possible. Repeat the same with your left arm. Hold for 30 seconds (each side) Take a 20-second break 3. Doorway Single Arm Bicep Curl Stand in front of your doorway and hold the ledge by one arm. Lower your body backwards and pull yourself back up again. Try to focus as much as you can in contracting your bicep while going down and coming back up again. Repeat the same with your left arm. 8 reps (each side) Take a 20-second break 4. Isometric Bicep Curl Hold The fourth and final exercise requires you to stand in one spot and keep your arms in the typical bicep curl pose and push your biceps with your forearms as tightly as possible. If done correctly, this becomes a really effective way to end your workout with a good pump. Hold for 30 seconds Take a 20-second break Repeat the circuit for three more sets and by the end, your biceps will be burning like crazy. View the full article
  2. Weâve been speculating about the OnePlus 8 Series for a while now and it seems like many of those speculations have been confirmed by the company. On the OnePlus forum, company CEO Pete Lau confirmed some of the specifications of the upcoming phones in a deep dive. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla We had already assumed that the OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8 would be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 chipset and it was confirmed in the forum post by Lau. This is the same chipset that powers some of the flagship phones of 2020 including the Realme X50 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S20 in the United States. Xiaomi was also supposed to launch the Mi 10 in India that is powered by the flagship chipset, but was delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The Snapdragon 865 chipset already offers impressive performance on other phones and OnePlus claims it will be 25% more energy-efficient than previous handsets. The processor is also more powerful at handling raw processing power which makes it ideal for gaming, video and image editing. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Lau also confirms that the phone will have LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 flash storage which will enable the phone to have faster read and write speeds. This, in turn, will enable the phone to launch apps and files faster than ever before. For users who like to use processor-intensive apps and multi-task at the same time, the new flash storage system will help in making the process smooth and power-efficient. The OnePlus 8 Series is already sounding like a great phone with almost every specification leaked before its official launch. While the smartphone is launching soon, currently we do not know how OnePlus plans to get their smartphones in the hands of their customers during the lockdown period. View the full article
  3. Earlier today, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had tweeted out saying that they're ready to unveil their new phones after having to postpone the event a few times. Now, we've just got the confirmation that the company is going to unveil the new OnePlus 8 series of phones on April 14, 2020. Yes, OnePlus has finally decided to go ahead with the launch despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But it'll still be an online-only launch event and we'll be able to stream it live on OnePlus' official website and on YouTube. © OnePlus Though OnePlus hasn't revealed anything about the new devices yet, they did mention that they're going to launch the OnePlus 8 "series", which means we'll definitely be getting more than one phone. This time OnePlus is going with the "Lead with Speed" slogan. The company also confirmed that there'll be a "full series of 5G devices". It's been a stressful month so far with little to no activities happening due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But now, we're super excited to welcome the new OnePlus 8 series and see what the company has been cooking for us behind the scenes. We already know quite a bit about the OnePlus 8 like its colour variants and even the detailed specs. 14/04/2020 - The answer you all have been waiting for! 4. Chitharesh Natesan, popularly known as @chitharesh_indian_monster on Instagram, is a Delhi-based Malayali bodybuilder, who went on to win the title of Mr. Universe at the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship held in South Korea in 2019. Well, it's interesting to note that he was the first Indian man to win the title. The competition is organised yearly by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF). To prep for pageants like these, Chitharesh had to stick to an incredibly strenuous diet of forty egg whites, one-kilogram chicken breast, a measured portion of fish, rice, and vegetables. For almost a year, he had to follow this diet. Chitharesh is originally from Vaduthala, Ernakulam. He, after completing his BA in History from the Maharajas College, then graduated from Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) to become a personal trainer at the Rejuvenation Fitness Group in Delhi. He focused more on weight training and would meet clients in the day and spend the rest of his time on his workouts. 5. Waking up to the news of 627 deaths in Italy which has recorded its highest daily rise in the number of deaths of people infected with COVID-19 is a stark reminder of how serious the situation is. However, back in our country, literate people like Kanika Kapoor are letting the whole country down. In fact, she has done a horrendous crime of putting all the people she met after her trip from London in danger. Despite the government issuing an advisory to self-quarantine yourself after your trip from abroad, it seems to be difficult to understand for people. Yesterday, the news broke in that Kanika Kapoor has been tested positive and now, control mapping of the people she met is underway. View this post on InstagramHello everyone, For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway aswell. I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure 10days ago when I came back home, the symptoms have developed only 4 days ago. At this stage I would like to urge you all to practice self isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like a normal flu and a mild fever, however we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us. We can get through this without panic only if we listen to the experts and our local, state and central government directives. Wishing everyone good health. Jai Hind ! Take care, KKA post shared by (@kanik4kapoor) The singer has now been booked for her negligence and an utter nonsensical move. An FIR has been registered against her at Sarojini Nagar police station, said Police Commissioner Surjit Pandey. âAn FIR was lodged at the Sarojini Nagar police station under IPC Sections 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant)," he told news agency PTI. Kanika Kapoor, on a telephonic interview with AajTak, told that she wasn't aware of the guidelines of staying in isolation of 14 days. She said no one told or advised her to be quarantined. In the interview, she also told that she had attended small family get-togethers and since the last seven days, she hadn't been meeting anyone. In fact, her father also talked to the leading Television news channel and said that she did attend four to five Holi parties. He also added that she was completely fine and it was only in the last two days that her health started deteriorating. Hereâs the video of her and her father's interview: According to the reports, not only did she attended Congress leader Jitin Prasadaâs dinner party, but she also had a Holi party in Lucknow on March 10, just a day after her return from London. 7. When you manage to tear your eyes away from the sheepish smile that plays on his lips, you get the chance to behold Bollywood's most prolific underdog-turned-mega-star, that is Irrfan Khan. With his rugged handsomeness, terrific performances, and earthy, personal charm, Irrfan makes for the perfect prototype to be called the ultimate Bollywood âdark horseâ. © Maddock Films Irrfan has been away from the mainstream acting scene since 2018 when he first announced about suffering from a neuroendocrine tumour. Having battled with cancer for over a year, Irrfan came back to face the camera once again last year for his latest film Angrezi Medium. While many are claiming Angrezi Medium to be Irrfanâs much-awaited comeback film post his fight with cancer, true-blue Irrfan Khan fans would beg to differ. For a true Irrfan Khan fan like myself, Angrezi Medium is more than a comeback film and here is exactly why: 1. Itâs The Most Weâll Get To See Of Him Since The Cancer Detection © Maddock Films Irrfan was last seen in the 2018 road film Karwaan, following which broke the news about him leaving for London to get treated for a brain tumour. Itâs been almost two years since, and now, with Angrezi Medium, I will get to witness this man spill his magic on-screen once again. Ever since the detection of his cancer, Irrfan has stayed away from public appearances, choosing to get treated and recuperate away from the public glare. So, this gives his fans the next best shot at beholding their favourite star up close on the silver screen! 2. It Is A Living Example That We Are Stronger Than The Things Trying To Hold Us Back © Maddock Films I can list a number of reasons why Irrfan Khan is one of the most inspirational Bollywood stars out there. But the one thing that trumps it all, currently, is his spirit. His resilience and dedication put Irrfan in a league of his own. Despite not being completely in the clear, Irrfan shot the film for director Homi Adajania, who swore to not make this film with any other actor. Irrfan came back, kept his promise and finished the shooting before heading back to London to continue his treatment for the shooting wrap-up. 3. It Might Be A While Before He Graces The Silver Screen Again © Maddock Films Letâs get a little realistic. Unless someone has been a survivor themself, or has witnessed a loved one battle with cancer, you and I will never be able to imagine how taxing even the recovery process can be, let alone the treatment itself. And though Irrfan has put on a brave face and finished this latest project, it might be a while before we see him on the silver screen again. Even with a few projects in the pipeline, we cannot be sure when they will see the light of the day. 4. Itâs A Reminder Why We Love Him The Way We Do © Maddock Films I donât know about others, but for me, Angrezi Medium is yet another reminder of why I adore this man and his craft so much. Itâs not about the story (Irrfan chose to do it, of course, the story will be worth it) or the supporting cast (Kareena chose to do this film only because of Irrfan, need I say more?). Itâs the promise to witness my favourite actor do what he does like none other. This gifted actor eats, breathes and lives his craft. He weaves stories and teaches his audience a thing or two with every film. His 30-year long, roller-coaster Bollywood journey makes him unconquerable and a striking beam of hope that there is hope for each one of us. Angrezi Medium is not just Irrfanâs comeback film for me, it is proof that this is what a devoted artist can do when lifeâs challenges are met with dedication and undiluted honesty for oneâs craft. 8. A couple of months back, a new product showed up online from none other than the drug lord Pablo Escobar's brother, Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria. It's a foldable phone and you probably already know about it. Honestly, it was a little sketchy, but what you may not have known is the fact that it's a scam. I mean, it's just a rebranded Samsung Galaxy Fold phone but that's not the only reason why we say it's a scam. © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee Furthermore, Marques Brownlee suggests that the company is using a Cameo service to hire celebrities to add ads for them. If all this isn't enough to convince you not to drop your money on the phone, let me just say it out loud that it looks like a scam and you're better off not buying one. View the full article
  9. Ever since independence, the number of royal families in India has shrunk to a fraction of their former size, with ex-royalty taking up roles in business, tourism and in the case of Jyotiraditya Scindia, front page politics too. Recently, Scindia has made headlines for his resignation from the Congress party - a relationship that lasted for over 19 years until finally breaking this March, in favour of allying with the BJP. Despite the fascinating game of thrones at work here, Scindia happens to be quite the figure all by himself. Here are a few interesting facts behind the manâs life and times. A Tragic Breakthrough Into Politics © Reuters Grandson of the last Maharaja of Gwalior, Jivajirao Scindia, Jyotiraditya was certainly destined for some kind of political impact, but few could predict how sudden and tragic his first year as a career politician would be. At the relatively young age of 30, his father succumbed to a tragic airplane accident and left open the doors to the familyâs traditionally held constituency in Guna. Later, that same year, he would join the Congress party and soon beat out his BJP counterpart in an election by nearly half a million votes. One Of The Richest Ministers In The UPA © Wikimedia Unsurprisingly, given the vast influence and riches of the Scindia dynasty, Jyotiraditya was one of the most wealthy politicians to feature in the UPA roster for quite a long time. His long list of assets is mostly beefed up by a staggering $2 billion worth of ancestral property inheritance, with several more millions in jewelry and other forms. One Of The Most Educated MPs © Reuters Having an entire dynasty on your shoulders requires a certain amount of skill and training to manage, and boy did Scindia not hold back. Finishing off his schooling years at the famous Doon School, Dehradun, he went on to snag a B.A. in Economics from Harvard, eventually completing an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. Career In Cricket Administration © Reuters Apart from politics and managing his family businesses, Scindia also has an eye for cricket, a sport that he takes quite seriously as the chairman of the regional Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA). Back in 2013, when MPCA staffer and ex-BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale quit his post as part of an IPL match-fixing scandal, Scindia vehemently supported swift action against fixing in cricket at the time. Royal Lineage © Reuters The backbone of any major dynasty is marriage - in order to consolidate and retain power, Indiaâs many kingdoms brought together their families through matrimony, and Scindiaâs parents were no exception. He carries on the Scindia line through his paternal side, but lesser-known are his ties to the Nepalese Rana dynasty and the legendary Gorkha forces through his maternal family. He himself is married to Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, a descendant of Barodaâs Gaekwad dynasty. Now thatâs one hell of a family tree. The Perks Of Being A Royal © TeamBHP Apart from a very sizable inheritance, Scindia also gets the perks of being part of Indiaâs elite colonial class, which means living in the famous 40-acre Jai Vilas Palace of Gwalior, while simultaneously owning a vintage car collection, with the unusual (pictured above) 1960s BMW Isetta making an appearance at occasional showcases. Made in 1874, the palace is covered with handcrafted furniture, hundreds of chandeliers and exotic fittings. If converted for today's currency rates, it cost somewhere in the ballpark of Rs 4,000 crores to construct and furnish. View the full article
  10. Every thriller junkie knows the joy of watching a trailer which continues to play in your head, over and over, until you finally watch the show or movie. Mind-bending trailers of The Vanishing and Gone Girl had that effect on me. Just this morning, the steadily growing OTT platform MX Player dropped the trailer of Samantar, and boy was I shook! I mustâve watched it thrice on loop, primarily because of the mysterious plot. Take a look at the trailer: From what we see, Samantar isnât a traditional thriller. For starters, could the plot get any more baffling & gripping? The protagonist is on a relentless quest to track down Sudarshan Chakrapani â a man who has a similar destiny as his own. The life that the protagonist is living is one that Chakrapani has already lived. Freaky, right? MX Player It all starts when the protagonist of the show, Kumar Mahajan (played by Swwapnil Joshi) makes an unplanned visit to the astrologer as both his personal and professional life have hit rock bottom. However, this visit turns rather eerie when the astrologer says, âMaine yeh haath pehle bhi dekha haiâ. In an astonishing discovery, the protagonistâs future is another manâs past. Bringing this mind-boggling plot to life is the heartthrob of Marathi cinema â Swwapnil Joshi. In addition to working in popular Marathi films like Duniyadari and Mitwaa, the actor has also been a part of the Bollywood movie Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! MX Player Based on the famous book âSamantarâ by Suhas Shivralkar, this MX Original brings together astrology, mystery, and thrill â one that will keep you hooked from the word go. With an aim to cater to a wider audience set across India, the platform will be dubbing the Marathi web series in 3 other languages - Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. All languages will be going live simultaneously on Friday, the 13th of March â exclusively on MX Player. View the full article

A luxury gifting company called Goldgenie is now selling custom gold Galaxy S20 phones if you have the money for it. The company is customising the entire Galaxy S20 line up in 24K gold. Literally every part of the phone is covered in gold, so it'll definitely cost you a lot of money. © Goldgenie The LTE version of the Galaxy S20 starts at £3,397 which roughly translates to over Rs 3.30 Lakh. And for each higher specced model, you'll be shelling out an additional £200. The Galaxy S20 Plus starts at £3,597 which is roughly Rs 3.51 Lakh, whereas the Galaxy S20 Ultra starts at Rs. 3.71 Lakh. The 5G variants of these phones will obviously cost more, so make sure you have enough money before opting for the 5G variants. Goldgenie is now accepting pre-orders for these phones and the deliveries will start by the end of March. For the money that you're shelling out, the company will be shipping these phones in special packaging and a certificate of authenticity. © Goldgenie Obviously these custom gold Galaxy S20 phones are not for everyone, but they're definitely a great style statement piece. If Android phones are not your thing, then we suggest you check out the custom iPhones that we've covered in the past to see if you like them better. Source: Goldgenie View the full article
  12. Okay, yes, stealing is bad, but I'm still conflicted about this man because he stole for his pets, and that's a pretty damn good excuse. Basically, Tarpan Ameen, a resident of Twinland Tower in sector 1 in Navi Mumbai recently was billed Rs 7.22 Lakh after he stole electricity to keep his dogs in the comfort of air-conditioning throughout the day. Apparently, power supply firm, MSEDCL claims he has stolen electricity worth about Rs 6.98 Lakh and for that, he was fined Rs 24,000. According to one of the officials, the man had three dogs, and among them, one was a golden retriever who, he claimed, couldn't do without constant AC. The biggest question is how the hell do you steal so much electricity without getting caught? Well, it looks like he got a direct connection from the building's electricity cabin and wasn't being billed for it. He got caught after someone complained to the power body about what was happening. But, since he was now paid the full amount and even the penalty, no criminal case is being filed against him. I just hope those poor doggos get all the comfort they deserve and this guy is able to provide them with that, without breaking the law, of course. View the full article

Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt - that alone would be enough to make a hit movie and on top of that, the idea of a trilogy is exciting in itself. And when you are a cricket fan, you are bound to have a lot of opinions but not as many opportunities to let the world know exactly how you feel. It can range from showing displeasure about your team not playing your favourite player or welcoming one of the legends of the game back on the field after being knocked off by an injury, or something completely random too. These five cricket fans made the most of their opportunities to immortalise themselves with their epic expressions with the help of some cheeky, funny and interesting banners. âBye-Bye Australiaâ © Twitter Before MS Dhoniâs Team India won the 2011 World Cup, they were to clash against Australia in the quarterfinals. Confident as they were, the fans of the Men in Blue brought this banner into the stadium to bid the Kangaroos adieu: âA âBROADâ introspectionâ © Twitter You know how cricketers from England and Australia have been sharing a rivalry for generations, right? Well, Stuart Broadâs adamant behaviour did not help the situation when he refused to leave the field despite getting caught behind. This is how the fans from Down Under showed their dissent and went on to call him an outright cheater. âDonât Drop My Heartâ © Twitter Kamran Akmal was one of the most promising cricketers to come out of Pakistan who made it big at the international level. However, as a keeper, Akmal wasnât the best and was soon dropped from the squad. This banner was used to troll the cricketer in the most decent way possible. âGod Bless The USAâ © Twitter Back in 2015, Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne played a key role in introducing the game of cricket to the United States of America but the Indians who were already in the country and knew who the master blaster was, greeted him in the best way possible. âPut de Kock Inâ © Twitter We leave this one to your imagination. 18. When did cows become these superbeings? The list of cows' super abilities keeps on increasing day by day. First, it was said that cows are the only animals that exhale oxygen, and then it was said that cows' milk actually contains gold. All of this applies to only desi cows or our 'gau mata', of course, since the foreign cows are our aunties. The latest thing that cows can do is cure coronavirus, obviously. I mean, at this point, are we even surprised by any claim that is made regarding cows? I sure am not. So, this hilariously bizarre claim was made by Hindu Mahasabha president Swami Chakrapani Maharaj who said that cow urine and cow dung can be used to cure the deadly virus that is rapidly becoming a global epidemic. He said, "Consuming cow urine and cow dung will stop the effect of infectious coronavirus. A person who chants Om Namah Shivay and applies cow dung on the body will be saved. A special yagna ritual will soon be performed to kill coronavirus." View the full article
  19. Badminton, shooting, long jump and hockey - this yearâs Khelo India Youth Games, 2020 brought an immense level of young sporting talent to Guwahati, where throughout January, dozens competed in 20-odd sports, although within one particular competition, a rather unique young girl rose to the top of her game. Three medals - two silver, one bronze hang around the neck of Upasha Talukdar, just twelve years old. âLook at the shape of my arm. See how my feet bend,â she said to The Indian Express, gracefully pointing towards her curved elbow, at her home in Guwahati. Upasha is a rhythmic gymnast - a form of gymnastics that combines dance, callisthenics and acrobatics in a stunning display, usually performed with a prop such as a ball, ribbon, rope or hoop. Upashaâs talent is near-natural. Sheâs been called the ârubber band girlâ at school - able to perform feats such as scratch her ear with a backwards-bent toe - having picked up the art at the age of eight. Eventually, after having been trained in artistic gymnastics for a few years, she hit a major hurdle in her journey as a gymnast - one that could have stopped a lesser person. After being told that she had the aptitude for rhythmic gymnastics from her coaches, Upashaâs family struggled to find a viable coach to train her in Assam - even the entire Northeast. © Khelo India Luckily, her father, Nikunja Talukdar, wasnât willing to give up. âFor months, she would just while away hours sitting in the corner of the gymnasium waiting for her turn,â he said. It was then that Talkudar, a pharmacy owner by profession, got the bright idea to turn to the internet. Together, the father-daughter duo would seek out videos exhibiting the work of the top gymnasts in the world, and after studying their technique, Upasha would set off to the gymnasium to learn through mimicking their moves. Meanwhile, Nikunja would reach out to any gymnasts he found on the internet, hunting for a suitable coach for his daughter. âThe moment I saw someone was a gymnast, I would send a friend request,â he says, âI told them that I had a daughter and I needed someone to guide her.â Over time, the pair developed relationships with gymnasts around the world - ranging from France, Russia, Australia, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. Russia, and the east-bloc in particular, has the greatest legacy in rhythmic gymnastics - the Olympic medal tally is led by USSR/Russia with 37 medals, followed by neighbour Romania with 22. The USA is at a distant third place with just 10. It was from there that Upasha finally found her guide - 16-year-old rhythmic gymnast Olesya, who decided to train Upasha through Skype. âWe didnât understand Russian, they did not understand English!â explains Upasha, âWith the help of Google Translate and a very shaky internet connection, we managed.â By the end of it, Upasha managed to prepare her first routine which led her to participate in a number of national-level junior competitions including the CBSE National Gymnastics (Haryana, 2017), Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education games (2018) and the sub-junior games organised by the Gymnastic Federation of India (2018). She won medals in all. Finally, after several hurdles in finding practice areas and perfecting her technique, Upasha was able to shine on the national circuit at the Khelo India Youth Games - an even greater achievement considering that she competed and won medals in the under-17 competition, despite being just 12 years old. On the horizon are dreams of Olympic standards, of course. In the meantime, however, Upasha wishes for better practice conditions so she can improve and compete at greater levels. âMany people think rhythmic gymnastics is just a âdanceâ, but it is actually so much more,â she says. âYou need strength, you need balance, you need to be flawless - you have to look like you are almost doing magic.â Here is hoping Upasha finds the help she deserves from the Sports Ministry and can fulfil her dream of making it to the Olympics. 20. When it comes to smartwatches, the Apple Watch is leading the race in the wearable space. However, OPPO has been wanting to launch a smartwatch of their own and today we got to see our very first glimpse of the Chinese companyâs smartwatch. Vice President for OPPO shared an image of the first render that the company will be launching soon. Whatâs striking is that you may have mistaken it for the Apple Watch. The image was shared on Chinese social media website Weibo and we get a clear look at the upcoming smartwatch. © MensXP From afar, the smartwatch looks awfully similar to the Apple Watch Series 4 or 5 as it has the same curved edges and even has an identical watch face used in marketing materials. If you look closely at the strap, it looks similar to the silicone strap you get with the Apple Watch. © OPPO/Weibo However, there is one slight difference in OPPOâs smartwatch from the Apple Watch, instead of the digital crown on the right side of the smartwatch, it has been substituted with another button. We can only see one side of the smartwatch so it isnât entirely sure whether OPPOâs smartwatch uses a digital crown as well on the other side of the chassis. If you look closely, there is a hole between the buttons that might be for a microphone. This microphone can be used for talking over calls however we donât know whether the watch will be capable of supporting independent LTE connections like the Apple Watch. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla There is a good chance that OPPO might unveil the smartwatch at Mobile World Conference that is set to take place in a few weeks. It could be possible that the smartwatch will be available to buy on March 6th as the render says 'Fri 06' and the next Friday to fall of the sixth of the month is in March. What do you think of OPPOâs new smartwatch? Do you think it resembles the Apple Watch too much? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article
  21. Well, you might be thinking that month after month you read about a small Italian town selling and listing houses in tiny villages for the price of peanuts. Trust me, I feel the same when I read and then write about it, but turns out not all things in life are complicated. At least not for the Italians, who have given us wonderful cuisine and picturesque holiday destinations. So in case you have always fancied about buying a âsapno ka gharâ for yourself, maybe this is your time to do some research and homework. Bisaccia, a small town in the Campania region, near the beautiful Naples has a cluster of houses waiting to be taken and given some major TLC. However for Rs. 78, they are not giving you Italian furniture and marbles but hereâs what the real deal is. The tightly-knit architecture of the villages there are apt for a big group of friends or families to move in together and buy land jointly. Mayor Francesco Tartaglia elaborated the situation and explained how it could work ideally. "We face a very particular situation here. The abandoned [area] spreads throughout the most ancient part of the village. Forsaken houses are clustered together, one next to the other along the same roads. Some even share a common entrance. That's why we welcome families, groups of friends, relatives, people who know each other or investors to join forces. We encourage them to buy more than just one house to actually have an impact and breathe new lifeâ, he said. Many towns in Italy have been happily disposing off unused, vacant village houses for sale and luring people with insane prices because the population there is next to nil. The good part is that you get to buy land from the government and no third party brokers are involved. View this post on Instagramð¸ Foto di @borgoreporter â Buongiorno a tutti voi amanti dei piccoli centri dâItalia! Iniziamo la giornata in Campania a Bisaccia! It's like getting the best of three regions in one single place,â he said. âBisaccia is dubbed the 'genteel town' because, despite the hardship, its people have always been respectable, welcoming, hard-working and resilient. Newcomers here are pampered and taken care of. We want this place to shine again," he added. If you ask me, Iâd love to move in right away if only I had a group of friends whoâd be willing to leave. Anyway, a human being can dream right? View the full article
  22. Every year, we see some sort of advancement in the display tech. From smartphones to TVs, there's a lot happening in the display space and we can't wait to see what comes our way in the future. In the meantime, there's a company called Mojo Vision, that's showcasing what it believes in the future of display tech. A smart contact lens that acts as a display. Yes, you read that right. So, Mojo Vision showcased a single lens that's embedded with some circuits with a tiny dot in the center. © Mojo Vision Mojo Vision is essentially making a smart contact lens that'll act as a display. Obviously, the tech is nowhere close to being ready, which is why we said it's the "future of display". At CES (Consumer Electronics Show) this year, Mojo Vision was showing lens with some sort of text displayed in a loop. The company says there is a ton of text info that can be displayed. You can see things like time, date, health data, heart rate, and more. You can also read messages from your friends. It sounds very similar to the smart glasses, but except in this case, it's a lens. Besides, it also says they're still working to make smart contact lens a true solution. They want the product to be so good that it's ready to enter the market as something that people can buy and wear it on a daily basis. That makes sense, but we're not entirely sure if/ when that'll happen. © Mojo Vision However, imagine a world in which you're wearing just a contact lens to consume the media. No additional devices required whatsoever. Heck, you don't even need a smartphone or a pocket device. It could be as simple as talking to a digital assistant and getting things projected on the lens. It's certainly the kind of cyberpunk world we want to live in, but it could be many years away from now. Source: WIRED View the full article
  23. Every fashion label longs for that one genius that would set the tone that their legacy takes. For Chanel and Fendi, it was the legendary mastermind, Karl Lagerfield. For Dolce & Gabbana, it was Stefano Gabbana. For YSL, it was Tom Ford. And it seems for the upcoming decade at least, it will be Alessandro Michele for Gucci. © Reuters Having spent a better part of the decade with Gucci in some role or the other, Alessandro's vision to take Gucci towards an environment that is even more inclusive of diversity and varying creativity, has resulted in some rather spectacular moments, with the gender-fluid or gender-neutral path that they have elected to go for, being one of them. However, it hasn't been a completely smooth sailing for them. © Reuters It's been five years since Alessandro took the helm of the Italian luxury brand. Yes, a few guffaws and quite a few faux pas were made. Remember, the controversial sweater, the one with a literal monkey face, that Gucci put up? Or the fact that some of their pieces were inspired by straight jackets, in 2019, a year that saw a very fervourous conversation around mental health, especially considering how Todd Phillips' Joker, released just a month after their guffaw, dealt with? © Reuters All said and done, if there has been one thing that the Florentine ateliers of Gucci have pushed out time and again, it is perspective. Gender fluid or androgynous fashion has been a theme that many fashion houses have dabbled with. In fact, ever since Alessandro took over Gucci, back in 2015, Gucci has often showcased most of their collections in fashion shows, by using cross-dressing as a statement-making tool. Case in point would be their Fall-Winter collection back in 2015. The collection, even though it dealt with a subject that was considered much more tabooed, was well thought out and indeed tastefully done. The pieces that were shown, were indeed androgynous and seemed to push the proverbial envelope. © Reuters Cut to 2020, and we see a remarked difference in the approach. Individually, the pieces that were showcased were spectacular and indeed statement pieces unto themselves, something that people expect from Gucci and Alessandro at this point. What did come across as a little jarring would be the manner in which they were showcased. What was disconcerting was the fact that there were instances where some of the ensembles seemed as if they had nothing to do with androgynous fashion, or gender-fluid fashion for that matter, but were an attempt to create a spectacle. © Gucci © Gucci © Gucci © Gucci No wonder post the Milan Show, people were genuinely left wondering if 'androgynous fashion' and 'gender-fluid' fashion have been reduced to fancy labels to stay woke? © Gucci The sad truth is, toxic masculinity, and the perception of emasculation that all things feminine represent, is a problem, and nowhere else it is as clearly put on display as it has been in clothes and fashion, even though this dichotomy at times falls flat on its face in this sphere? As sad as it may be, there still is a long way to go for this duality to be put to rest, and this binary that we have in fashion will become redundant. Is it a surprise then, that almost all major fashion houses, be it Prada, Dior, and Burberry have massively amped up their product range, as well as the production of luxury menswear items? Luxury Menswear, after all, is an exponentially growing segment of the market. © Gucci With that said, whether Gucci is indeed being esoteric or is it just another example of a fashion label that is using these terms for coming across as woke, for the sake of being woke; Gucci's endeavours in the past have pushed the envelope continuously and tried to be the harbingers of a society that is androgynous. © Gucci Just take a look at the Lyst Index, a quarterly ranking of the 'It' brands and products in fashion, and you'll see that in the last eight quarters, Gucci has always been in the top three spots, and held the lead for a considerably long time. Since 2018, specifically, Gucci has been the hottest brand in fashion and was only deposed of its thrown by Off White & Balenciaga in the 3rd quarter of 2019. © Gucci We're sure that with this collection, Gucci surely is going to jump to the top yet again. Because whatever they seem to be doing, it seems they know what works for them. All said and done, the pieces they make, like we said, are indeed statement worthy. © Gucci So come what may, people, men and women alike, are still going to flock to Gucci stores all around the world, for their washed-out baggy denim jeans, and boxy wool suits, and their murses. People who can afford them, that is. Or at the very least, they will crop up in some form or the other in fast fashion outlets like Zara, or H&M, where they will be flying off of the shelves. © Gucci The question remains though, where does that leave Gucci in this scenario, where there is a clear distinction between the runway and the racks? Is it going to cater to the esoteric runway, the similar and familiarity that people expect from the rack, or does the answer lie somewhere in between? That remains to be seen. View the full article
  24. Disha Patani is not just a pretty face, she's got a head and heart too: Mohit SuriDisha Patani is one of the few faces in Bollywood known for their endless beauty. However, the 27-year-old Baaghi actor boasts of more than just a pretty face as her acting prowess is no less of a crowd-pleaser than her unmatched beauty. Nodding to that, is Indian director Mohit Suri who is working with the diva for his upcoming film Malang. Speaking about her skills, the filmmaker dished the details in an interview saying: “The whole world feels that Disha is just a pretty face and a hot body. She has something more in her. She’s got head and heart too.” "There is a perfect blend of glam quotient and bohemian vibe surrounding the character, both qualities which I could imagine Disha to compliment effortlessly. The response to Disha’s role has been great so far, I’m sure the audience will be able to connect with her even more after watching Malang,” he added.
