  1. Vicky Kaushal is the actor who is giving our classic Bollywood heroes a run for their money. The man who started out with a dream in his heart and treaded on an unknown path has come a long way from his 'Masaan' days. His recent performance as DJ Sandz and a path-breaking record with 'Uri' has made him the favourite man of the moment and he is well aware of it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on Mar 20, 2019 at 1:47am PDT Vicky is celebrating his 31st birthday today and is ringing it amongst his family and friends. View this post on Instagram The smile on my face is because of the people you see in the reflection behind. Thank You guys. Also, feeling so damn blessed reading all your wonderful wishes. Thank You so much for this beautiful shower of love and blessings. Lots of love and a big hug to each one of you. And that btw, on the table, was my birthday cake! ðâ¤ï¸ð A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on May 16, 2019 at 2:12am PDT We stumbled upon some unseen, raw footage of his theatre days, which are notable performances in their own league. One of the videos shows Vicky in a theatrical production where he's seen essaying a comic character. Another short clip shows a talented Vicky playing the role of a rough police officer misbehaving with a woman. This has a carefree Vicky drinking with his friends and contemplating a plan to commit suicide. Interestingly, he was also a part of Vasan Bala's short movie 'Geek Out' . For any Vicky Kaushal fan, this is a gold mine right here.
  2. Vicky Kaushal needs no introduction. His brilliant performance and choice of films work as his business card for him. After proving his mettle to the world, the actor is now all set to take up another challenging role. Kaushal will play legendary freedom fighter and martyr, Sardar Udham Singh in his upcoming biopic. The movie will narrate the story of the revolutionary who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, who was the Lt. Governor of Punjab when the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place. Instagram Today, the actor shared his first look from the movie where he is seen standing on the streets of St. Petersburg, with a fierce gaze (that can scare the wits out of you) and a scar on his face. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the biopic is expected to release in 2020. As Vicky Kaushal gears up to stun his fans with another stellar performance, here's a look at some of his best movies so far that made us shout 'How's the Josh?' each time we watched him on screen: 1. Uri: The Surgical Strikes The amount of love this movie has received speaks volumes about the brilliant acting of Vicky Kaushal and that of every other actor who was a part of it. After all, there is a reason why 'How's The Josh?' became such a huge thing and almost everyone was using the dialogue. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film was based on the Indian Army's surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC), as a retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack. RSVP Movies 2. Manmarziyaan Kaushal played the role of a guy named Vicky, a handsome part-time DJ who loses his girlfriend to another guy because of his commitment issues. This movie explained the dynamics of a relationship and love like nothing else. Phantom Films 3. Sanju Vicky Kaushal's character Kamlesh, aka Kamli, wasn't just a supporting character. He was one of the strongest characters in the film and in Sanjay Dutt's life. He stayed with Sanjay Dutt through thick and thin and continued to support him even when the world turned against him. Vicky's flawless performance made all of us feel that both Kamli and Vicky are the kind of friends that every person deserves in their lives. Fox Star Studios 4. Raazi 'Raazi' was owned by Alia Bhatt, but Vicky Kaushal too caught our attention with his portrayal of Iqbal Syed, a commander in the Pakistan army. His struggle of choosing between his feelings for his wife (who was an Indian spy) and his duties towards his country touched all our hearts. Dharma Productions 5. Masaan Vicky made his Bollywood debut with 'Masaan' in 2015 and his performance left even the stalwarts awestruck. Vicky played a boy from the Dom community, whose family works at the cremation ghats. His transition from a young passionate guy in love to someone in immense grief over losing someone was flawless. Phantom Films
  3. Vicky Kaushal will be seen next in Shoojit Sircar's project, playing the role of Udham Singh, a revolutionary who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab, in London, on 13 March 1940. This assassination was an act of revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. The massacre deeply affected young Udham Singh who shot Michael O'Dwyer two decades later and was later hanged for murder. Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share a shot of his character while filming. In the shot, he looks fierce with a visibly serious bruise under his eyes and a cold expression. View this post on Instagram Running my fingers through the bullet holes at Jallianwala Baug, little did I realise that I would one day get a chance to re-live and depict the anger and anguish of the lesser known martyr, revolutionary... SARDAR UDHAM SINGH. #SardarUdhamSingh @shoojitsircar @ronnie.lahiri #SheelKumar @writish1 #ShubenduBhattacharya #RisingSunFilms @sadarudhamfilm A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on Apr 29, 2019 at 11:05pm PDT In the picture he shared on Instagram, Vicky is dressed in a long trench coat and a sharp hat with slicked back hair and looks completely in character as a young Udham Singh. Vicky has played extremely versatile roles in the past. From an Army officer in 'Uri' and 'Raazi' to a carefree man in 'Manmarziyaan'. The talented actor has been extremely fluid in switching roles effortlessly. Besides completely nailing his look and getting into the skin of every character he plays, Vicky has always been exceptional in pulling off the role he is playing, and we can't wait to see what he does this time around with Sircar's film. Shoojit Sircar recently spoke about the project and told news agency IANS, "Udham's struggle and sacrifice is a very important story for today's audiences to be made aware of, and I have collaborated with my esteemed writers Riteish Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya, along with my friend and producer Ronnie Lahiri once again for this humble tribute to the maverick freedom fighter and his story." When asked about the casting of Udham Singh, Shoojit added, "Vicky is unquestionably one of the most dynamic actors we have today, and together, we shoulder great responsibility to deliver due justice in bringing alive this inspiring story on screen."
  4. If a list of 'fail-safe' outfits for men is ever created, the Tuxedo definitely will occupy one of the top three spots. A man just can't look bad wearing a tux, and you know you agree. However, because of the 'too formal' tag attached, men, especially in India, tend to avoid wearing tuxes, and that's just unfortunate. Well, if we can count on one person to drive a style trend home, it has to be the effortlessly classy Vicky Kaushal. Here are some pictures of Vicky in a tux, jumping on a bed, without a hint of discomfort - that perhaps can make you believe that tuxedos aren't all that formal after all, and will make you consider wearing them more often. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 Vicky is wearing a tuxedo by Manish Malhotra - a gorgeous piece in black that stands out because of the intricate textural play throughout. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 We're in love with the interplay of glitter and satin throughout the piece, that has been brought out conspicuously by the pleated white tux shirt. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 Even though a tuxedo can be worn without a cummerbund - one should definitely invest in one if 'nailing the look' is the goal. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 The velvet bow tie and the fit of those pants constitute the cherry on top of the glam cake, something our homies should definitely focus on while wearing a tux. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 Moral of the story? Don't be afraid to wear a tux outside of a wedding, and when you do, go all out. It will reward you in ways you'd have never thought of. Good luck!
  5. Vicky Kaushal is making headlines every day and for good reason. Delivering great movies one after the other, he's no more the boy next door. He has arrived. From supporting roles to carrying his own films flawlessly, the actor has really evolved. © Instagram/amandeepkaur But aside from his stellar acting, and great performances the actor also has a relatable sense of style. It's the kind of style that is neither too experimental and nor too loud and yet it makes a statement and an impressive one at that. Unlike actors like Ranveer Singh and Aparshakti Khurana who rely on the element of shock value to express their sense of personality pulling off impossible things with stride, Vicky Kaushal stays conventional and hits the right notes of style pairing the best of everything together. © Instagram/amandeepkaur Case in point: for the Filmfare awards, Vicky Kaushal wore the classic bow tie with a tuxedo. The thing about something so classic and conventional is that anyone can easily go wrong with them. But not Vicky Kaushal. He added a classic pair of brogues by House Of Sunil Mehra with a surface that has the perfect balance of shine and ruggedness on it. The shoes were the star of this outfit. They lifted the outfit and took it to another level. Take a look: © Instagram/amandeepkaur Hands up if you too want to get shoes like Vicky Kaushal because we do.
  6. Be it talent in terms of acting, charisma, popularity, or raw magnetism, if there are two stars can give each other solid competition in the current scenario, they have got to be Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh. While 2018 has most certainly been Vicky's year, Ranveer is smashing everything on his way with movies like 'Gully Boy'. However, one more area where they are giving each other solid competition is their style game. In a recent award ceremony, Vicky and Ranveer shared the stage, shook a leg, and had a 'suit off' of sorts. Take a look. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Both of them looked dapper in statement black suits, albeit in their distinctive style. The high point was seeing them together on stage, shaking a leg like only they can. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zoom TV (@zoomtv) on Mar 17, 2019 at 7:44pm PDT While Vicky's suit was understated, subtle, and absolutely classy, Ranveer's suit stood apart because of the statement floral pattern. Even though it was extra, given Ranveer's aesthetic, it was minimalistic tbh. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani While we love the understated polka dot detailing in Vicky's outfit, we honestly can't get over the unusual floral pattern on Ranveer's ensemble. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Who are you siding with?
  7. Gone are the days when it took us more than a few seconds to put a face to the name Vicky Kaushal. This name is a raging force of charm and talent in the Bollywood industry right now, which began gaining prominence since Vicky won over the hearts of several film critics with his exceptional performance in 'Masaan'. View this post on Instagram Perpetual mood on Set ð... see you all on 14th Sept. #Manmarziyaan ð·: @khamkhaphotoartist A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on Aug 30, 2018 at 11:18pm PDT Vicky followed it up with other notable performances in 'Raazi', 'Manmarziyaan' and more recently with this year's mega-blockbuster 'Uri' where he excellently essayed the role of Major Vihaan Shergill. The film is still being screened at a number of theatres even today and has even crossed the 200 crore mark when it comes to box office collection. 8. Vicky Kaushal has been catapulted to major glory right now thanks to his wonderful innings at the box office with 'Uri'. The actor impressed everyone with his strong performance in the movie, which has gone up to the 200 crore mark already. It's only natural now that movie makers and producers are making a beeline to sign him up and allow Vicky to be spoilt for choices. However, it looks like he has already set his sights on meaty roles which benefit the actor within him. As per latest reports, Vicky has already signed his next movie with none other than ace director Shoojit Sircar. It is a biopic on Udham Singh and Vicky will play the titular role. In a recent interview, Shoojit Sircar spoke about his choice of getting Vicky on board. “If you look at Vicky's track record, he is taking brave steps and making some really fabulous choices. I wanted an actor who is ready to give his heart and soul to the film. Plus, he is a Punjabi boy and my film is a story of a Punjabi man. So, in many ways, he turned to be the obvious choice.” Vicky, who was grateful indeed, said, “It's a surreal feeling because it's like a dream come true as I am finally getting to work with him. I have always been a big admirer of how Shoojit sir looks at his stories. The way he is looking at the character (Udham Singh) and the world, is extraordinary as well as beautiful. Plus, it's also a big honour for me that finally, I am going to be directed by him. Honestly, that's something that will take time to sink in.” The movie was initially meant for Irrfan Khan to play the lead but since the actor has been on a break owing to his medical condition, Vicky has stepped in his shoes. Udham Singh went down in history as one of the biggest freedom fighters our country ever saw. He was responsible for assassinating General O'Dwyer to avenge the 1919 massacre. The movie is slated for a 2020 release. Well, our excitement and our 'josh' are certainly higher.
  9. Vicky Kaushal is the kind of fashionista who doesn't ever try hard. But the thing is, he doesn't need to. His cheerful demeanour coupled with the effortless charm of a chivalrous guy next door works wonders for him, every single time. However, he just won a bunch of awards, and wore a super classy blue suit for the occasion. Naturally, all eyes were on him, and how 'dreamy' he looks in that became the talk of the town. Take a look. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 Vicky wore a smart blue suit from Tisa Studio with a statement embossed aesthetic that stood out, despite being extremely subdued and subtle. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani The stretch of strong royal blue is making him look super tall (not that he needs it, at all, being as tall as he actually is). When it comes to footwear, the dark plum and black Oxfords are a perfect accompaniment to the statement suit. © Viral Bhayani The fact that he chose to wear the standard white shirt with it, casually unbuttoning the topmost part, shows that the man has nailed it when it comes to be effortlessly stylish. © Viral Bhayani Vicky won the Dadasaheb Phakle Award for the Best Performance in a Leading Role for 'Uri', the Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Award, and the Femina Fresh Face of the Year Award. Congratulations, champ!
  10. If you've ever had a relationship question for Vicky Kaushal then this is your chance to ask him. Okay, not exactly ask him but you can hope we asked him something along the same lines, right? Enjoy.

  12. Vicky Kaushal is the starboy that Bollywood deserves right now and he is shining brightly following the phenomenal success of 'Uri', which has catapulted him to the league of A-listers in B-town. View this post on Instagram ð¬+ð¤¦ð¼‍âï¸= âð½ A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on Feb 12, 2019 at 5:40am PST Vicky had to undergo his fair share of struggles before making it big in Bollywood. He started his journey by assisting Anurag Kashyap on 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' and worked his way up until people believed that the guy could really act. Not many are aware that Vicky is the son of one of the most famous stunt directors in Bollywood, Shyam Kaushal, but that did not necessarily spell out success for him. His journey has been his personal struggle. In a recent interview, Vicky was asked to read and comment on some of the remarks made by people on social media. While there were many compliments for him, some were plain harsh words. One comment read as follows “He doesn't have hero face...a common punjabi ladka yes but he has filmy background bas utna hi kaafi hai aaj bollywood me." Vicky had a very thoughtful reply to it and said “Okay, so apart from the last line, 'utna hi kaafi hai Bollywood mein,' I think there's nothing wrong in what he said. I don't have a filmy face or a hero face." However, Vicky was not okay with being accused of nepotism and was quick to react to that statement with a justified answer. 14. Vicky Kaushal is on an all-time career high with his 'Uri' rising high and raking in moolah at the box office. In a recent interview with 'Filmfare', Vicky gave out details about their relationship and what made him fall for her. “We happened to meet through common friends. 16. After being on board to be a part of the Rakesh Sharma biopic 'Saare Jahaan Se Acha' for the longest time, Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly quit the movie. It's rumoured that King Khan has chosen to continue playing Don in 'Don 3' instead of the biopic, but nothing is apparently confirmed since Aamir Khan also recently said, “Isn't Shah Rukh Khan doing that film? Those are only reports, let's wait until he makes an announcement about it.” View this post on Instagram Hug from the Thug....!! Beat that! A post shared by Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) on Oct 31, 2018 at 8:35pm PDT So, no one knows what's exactly going on. But, now it seems like Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao, and even Kartik Aaryan are in the running for the role, according to Bollywood Life. All three actors have obviously proven themselves as brilliant actors and it's no surprise that they could be replacing someone like Shah Rukh Khan. Moreover, on top of this, the recent success of movies by younger and relatively newer actors in contrast with the failures of all the movies by the 'Khans' last year may indicate that the era of the Khans ruling the box office may be over. And, this could also be the reason why after SRK, actors like Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao will take up the role he was supposed to portray. But, there's also some bad news for Kartik Aaryan; according to a source, as reported by Bollywood Life, “Kartik is not really considered. The character demands a performer who can pull it off very well. Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao both have what it takes to play this character.” Sorry, Kartik. But, whoever ends up doing the movie - Vicky or Rajkummar - we all know it's going to be great.
  17. Just in case you didn't know, the movie 'Uri' is based on the Indian Army's successful surgical strike in retaliation to the roguish terrorist attacks at the Uri Army Base camp in Jammu and Kashmir. The movie not only has a remarkable story but the physical transformation of its lead actor, Vicky Kaushal, is also a sight to behold. We sat down with the man behind Vicky's transformation, Rakesh Udiyar, and went into the details of how Vicky transformed from a 74 Kg ectomorph to an 86 kilo Indian Para Commando. Rakesh has also extensively trained Aamir Khan and Salman Khan as well. The Goal: Fit & Rugged. Not An Unrealistically Built Commando © YouTube First and foremost, the director and the trainer sat together in order to decide Vicky's physique goal. In Bollywood you will find two types of physiques. The lean and ripped: Hrithik Roshan , Vidyut Jamwal, Arjun Rampal. And the jacked and muscular: Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and John Abraham. However, the thing is that an Indian Army Officer looks like none of them, and the team decided that Vicky needs to look fit and rugged but not intimidating. Bulking- Phase 1 Vicky had a skinny fat body type and a low appetite as well, which resulted in him struggling to gain weight. Rakesh started his bulking at 2500 calories. This was a moderate carb, moderate fat, and a high protein diet. Bulking- Phase 2 Gaining serious mass requires a serious caloric surplus. After 4 weeks, trainer Rakesh bumped up his calories to 3500 for the next 4 weeks. This was low carb, high fat, and high protein diet. The purpose of a low carb diet was to avoid water retention which might show up on face due to eating a lot of carbohydrates. Being a celebrity, it is required Vicky always stays photoshoot ready and his trainer Rakesh completely took care of this. After this phase, Vicky Kaushal weighed 91 Kg. (Note: 3500 Calories is a lot. But Vicky Kaushal was doing strength training in the morning and boot camp training in the evening. Thus these many calories were apt according to his activity levels.) Cutting © YouTube Now it was time to get rid of the unwanted fat and get lean. For dieting, Vicky Kaushal followed a 2000 calorie diet with moderate carbs, moderate fats, and high protein. According to Rakesh, the purpose of keeping carbs while cutting was to ensure glycogen stores stay full, so the muscles appear fuller and rounder. After this phase, Vicky Kaushal was down to 86 Kg. Training For training, Vicky Kaushal followed Time Under Tension, which is a technique wherein the eccentric part of a lift is exaggerated to maximize muscle fibre damage and recruitment. This is an effective method but agonizingly painful, kindly do not do without an expert. Trainer Rakesh also mentioned that Vicky often tried escaping the leg workouts but he never let that happen. After all, you cannot spell Legendary without Leg-Day. So, this is exactly how Vicky did it. No steroids were used as this was a very simple transformation. Bulking up isn't rocket science, nor is getting lean. Just look for the right coaches to guide you. 18. Vicky Kaushal is already an established actor, right? I mean, he was one of the biggest names in Bollywood last year, he had built his reputation as one of the best actors way before 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', so it would be a little weird if someone called him a newcomer. Well, that's what Anupam Kher did, kinda. He tweeted a nice message for Vicky Kaushal praising him for 'Uri', and also took the opportunity to welcome him to the 'actors world'. The intentions were probably great, but a lot of people felt Vicky had proved his worth as an actor way before 'Uri'. Or, maybe we're reading way too much into it. Dear @vickykaushal09 ! Welcome to the 'actors' world. You are FANTASTIC in #UriTheSurgicalStrike. Real, gutsy and a performer. Remember!! You are your own competition. The more difficult you make your jo, the more you will explore it. Love and best wishes always.ðð pic.twitter.com/grlvt3QxSn — Anupam Kher (@AnupamPKher) January 21, 2019 It was obviously a great gesture, something even Vicky himself acknowledged and appreciated. Thank You so much Sir. Words of appreciation and encouragement from you mean a lot to me. Thank You! ðð https://t.co/qwisOkdihB — Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) January 21, 2019 But, it's Twitter we're talking about and Anupam Kher still got trolled in the replies with people trying to remind the actor about Vicky's much-appreciated performances in so many of his previous movies. Vicky Kaushal has always been an amazing actor. Since the 1st act. — Moujhuri Guha (@Megha25) January 21, 2019 Agree. #UriTheSurgicalStrike has given @vickykaushal09 stardom but he is class apart in all the movies he has done so far .. watch #Sanju, #raazi, #lovepersquarefeet and #Masan.. he is like a breath of fresh air, as non challant as @ajaydevgn — shalini gupta (@gshaloo) January 21, 2019 Okay, going right in. Dear @vickykaushal09 ! Welcome to the 'BHAKT' world. You are FANTASTIC in #UriTheSurgicalStrike. Real, gutsy and a performer. Remember!! You are your own competition. The more difficult you make your jo, the more you will explore it. PEDDLE HATE AND DIVISION ALWAYS ðð — Raghu. (@BolRaghu) January 21, 2019 Apparently not. Welcome?? Have you watched or heard of Masaan, Raman Raghav, Raazi, Sanju? — A Thousand Thoughts (@1000_Thoughts) January 21, 2019 Umm. Vicky is way better than you, considering his choice of films n their message. Atleast he signed a film with some educational value, unlike ua misleading # the accidental prime minister... a propaganda. — Rayees S (@rayeesray) January 21, 2019 Yep. hasn't Vicky been in the actors' world long enough already? been consistently good, film after film. — y v o n n e âï¸ (@Justa_Sojourner) January 21, 2019 Shots fired. "Welcome to the 'actors' world" is amusing. We have already seen @vickykaushal09 delivering high class performaces. I am afraid I can't say the same about @AnupamPKher who does try hard though. There is that fine line between great and good. — Vallabh Kargathra (@Kargathra_V) January 21, 2019 Isn't this a bit too harsh? Oh yeah, before #Uri , Vicky did not exist and welcome him to the world of spineless bhakts ! His half a dozen films with some excellent mind blowing performances doesn't count who has shown more talented than you have in last 20 years ! Vicky know your friends well ! — yaseengani (@YasPhysio) January 21, 2019 This too. "Actors" world??? Make it make sense...I believe masaan itself was amazing beginning for him as an actor, p.s. After your accidentally horrible mimickery you should take sabbatical from "actor" world. — Ishani Mishraâ¡ï¸ (@IshaniMishra18) January 21, 2019 He really was great in that movie. No appreciation of Vicky acting after sanju. It shows what mr Kher is stands for. — Ali MG (@aliasgarmg) January 21, 2019
