  1. Two Khans of our Bollywood, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, never miss a chance to appreciate each other on social media platforms. The whole country is praising the trailer of Salman Khan's 'Bharat'. Just like Bhai fans are going gaga over the trailer, SRK too seemed to have loved the trailer. He took to Twitter to give a shout-out to the film and wrote, "Kya baat hai bhai!! Bahut Khoob." As soon as SRK tweeted, their fans got one more reason to celebrate their friendship. Here's the tweet: Kya baat hai bhai!! Bahut Khoob. https://t.co/0t8hQoUSbJ — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) April 22, 2019 The trailer shows Salman Khan in five avatars and it has left all the movie buffs waiting for more. The trailer tells the story of a middle-class old man Bharat, who takes us back to 1947 when India attained its independence. Salman and Katrina Kaif are a deadly combination and fans are happy to see this 'jodi' back on the silver screen. Apart from Salman and Katrina, the film also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles. Bharat is an official remake of the Korean film, 'An Ode To My Father'. It will be interesting to see how Ali Abbas Zafar has given it an Indian twist. © Salman Khan Films In an earlier interview, Ali had said that it's important to show Salman in a different light as the Indian cinema is now changing and doing something different with every film, and that will help them make a mark. Are you looking forward to watching the film? Let us know in the comments below. Meanwhile, check out the trailer here:
  2. We have often heard the wise say that hope is the biggest weapon when it comes to surviving adversities. Till the time one can hope, they possess the means to survive and emerge a victor. If you are wondering what is the point behind that piece of 'gyaan' we just passed on, well we are trying to make a point. And this point involves a very sensitive (if you will) issue - minorities. Be it ethnic, racial or religious, minorities exist in every part of the world. However, their treatment in every part of the world is pretty much identical. © Twitter Right from facing challenges within the education systems, employment opportunities, to dietary and dressing choices, as well as the disputes one faces with regards to identity and a sense of belonging, most minorities around the world have it tough, more often than not. So, bearing those aspects in mind and the fact that even in India we often hear minority groups crying foul for a number of reasons, Pakistan Prime Minister's decision to do something for the Hindu minorities in the state, comes as positive news. © Twitter Imran Khan decided to finally walk the talk and do something concrete for the Hindu minority residing in the country where he enjoys the title of Prime Minister. Now, in a bid to keep his promise to the Hindus in the country, the federal government led by Imran Khan recently announced that they have decided to restore and reopen over 400 Hindu temples across the country and hand them over to the Hindus. © Twitter This not only comes as a gesture of peace and inclusivity but also sparks a ray of hope for all the minority groups around the world. They can now hope for their leaders to follow the lead and spare them a second look, and perhaps take a few tips on how to cater to the needs of the minorities. However, since there are a lot of temples in Pakistan (some of which have been destroyed and lay abandoned since long), the government will be restoring two temples every year. Starting with the temples in Sialkot and Peshawar, which has a functioning Jagannath temple, and a 1000-year-old, abandoned Shivalaya Teja Singh temple, the Pakistan government plans to refurbish all 400 temples on its land. © Twitter According to The Logical Indian report, an All-Pakistan Hindu Rights Movement (APHRM) survey showed since 1990 close to 408 out of the 428 temples have been converted into restaurants, schools, and offices. However, as per a recent survey conducted by the Pakistan government, 11 temples were located in Sindh, four in Punjab, three in Balochistan and two in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which are operational as of 2019. © Twitter People are also looking at it as a peace gesture for India's consideration, since it's coming from the Pakistan PM directly. We cannot help but wonder what Indian politicians will make of that, given that only months ago in February this year, a few unidentified vandals destroyed a Hindu temple in Pakistan's Sindh province and even set the holy books and idols on fire. Hindus came out in protest after the incident, following which Imran Khan ordered for swift action. We can only hope that this recent development from the Pakistan government comes in complete honesty and goodwill, which could then succeed in setting a great example for the rest of the world.
  3. Saif Ali Khan has been pulling off a rather suave formal style game since a couple of years now, and honestly, no one does it better in our opinion. The inherent 'Nawabi' swag is something that he clings to even while going out wearing shorts, so clearly, when he does go out in public all nice and proper, very few people can steal his thunder. However, that takes effort, and it shows in the way he sagaciously picks out every piece his outfits entail. He just stepped out wearing a smart semi-formal ensemble with a blue shirt and blue jeans, but the one piece that gave the outfit its inimitable edge is the belt he decided to wear with it. © Viral Bhayani From a distance, it looks like a regular brown leather belt with some embellishment and embroidery, but it's a lot more. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani The belt has a charming floral pattern with flowers of different sizes across the length, and some of them are studded with silver buttons. This one right here is an accessory that will instantly amp up any formal/semi-formal outfit. © Viral Bhayani We're digging how Saif chose to stick with a pair of classic bell-bottoms instead of skinny jeans, and his leather shoes go perfectly with the belt. © Viral Bhayani Also, brownie points for that cool man bun. Let's just say Taimur is learning from the best, when it comes to matters of style.
  4. When it comes to Aamir Khan, you can expect nothing but perfection. His performance, his looks, his delivery...it's always a pleasure to watch the superstar shine on our screens. What has he not done, really? From playing an alien to portraying a wrestler to charming us with his guy-next-door smile, Aamir Khan is the powerhouse of versatility and talent. Here are 5 times we couldn't take our eyes off Mr.Khan and his amazing transformations: 1. Dangal This is one of the most extreme body transformations any Bollywood actor has done for a movie. For 'Dangal', Aamir played the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat - his younger and older days, all at once. The actor had put on almost 25 kilos to portray older Phogat, and then went ahead and lost all of the extra weight, beefed up and aced the part as the younger Phogat. Now that's what we call dedication! 2. Thugs Of Hindostan If any actor in Bollywood can play goofy and eccentric, and still look great on screen is Aamir. For his recent action-adventure film, 'Thugs Of Hindostan', he plays Firangi Mallah, a quirky character with outlandish sense of fashion. Think loud, loose jackets, a top hat, round glasses, unkempt hair, thick moustache and stubble. 3. The PhonePe TVC Unless you're living under a rock, you must have already seen the terrific PhonePe video where Aamir is playing a grandfather, and his makeover is as real as it gets. Besides, the Daddu-Gublu duo on screen is adorable to the core! You have to watch it to believe me. Needless to say, the actor is now the official brand ambassador of PhonePe, a digital payments platform with 100 million customer-base and top-notch services. For instance, the brand is making an effort to educate customers on UPI, how safe and secure it is, and how simple PhonePe works. Additionally, there is also the Apps-in-App use, wherein customers do not need multiple mobile apps, and they can simply use PhonePe for cab bookings, food, travel, recharge data and DTH, and much more. You can also use the PhonePe app on all offline merchants as well. For more details, visit the website. What's more? PhonePe is also an official co-presenting sponsor for the television broadcast of VIVO IPL 2019. But wait, we aren't done yet. If you make a UPI transaction on PhonePe during this T20 season, you can get a chance to win a trip to watch Team India play in England this summer. How cool is that? 4. PK One of the blockbusters of 2014, 'PK' saw Aamir transform into a humanoid alien with a lean physique, flat hair, weird-meets-vexed expressions and popping ears. He's truly one perfectionist! 5. Ghajini 'Ghajini' came at a time when every Bollywood actor was trying to get either an eight or a six-pack abs. Aamir's transformation during that time made it to the headlines - eight-pack abs, well-defined chest muscles, crew cut, and of course, remember the tattoos?
  5. For those of you who don't know who Ira Khan is and why she is trending all over the internet on this fine day of March, prepare to be bombarded with a fully-loaded crash course on the young lady, packed with all the nitty-gritty related to her past, present and future. View this post on Instagram To the coolest dad ever⤠Happy Birthdaayy!! A post shared by Ira Khan (@khan.ira) on Mar 14, 2019 at 10:36am PDT However, since digital media is all about “keeping up or losing out” we decided to get on board and let our beloved readers in on the latest hot topic that is topping the trends charts. And yes, it has all the keywords such as Aamir Khan, Ira Khan, Reena Dutta and one mysterious man called Mishaal Kirpalani who has caught the Indian media's attention overnight. View this post on Instagram Hope your Spring Break was sunny and smiley as @mishaalkirpalani's, which of course, I piled onto â¤â¤â¤ð¸@sahirahoshidar A post shared by Ira Khan (@khan.ira) on Mar 24, 2019 at 10:04pm PDT Here is what the hype is all about. Aamir Khan and ex-wife Reena Dutta's daughter Ira Khan recently shared a bunch of 'cosy' images with a male friend on her Instagram account, and the world is suddenly losing its calm in pursuit of the ultimate truth related to this 'mystery guy' in Ira's photos and life. The young dude who goes by the name Mishaal Kirpalani on his Instagram handle shared that he is an artist, producer and composer. View this post on Instagram Welcome to the family, Simba. This 'fraandship' seems to be going strong. *winks* View this post on Instagram Happy Birthday, Sleepyhead⤠A post shared by Ira Khan (@khan.ira) on Oct 16, 2017 at 10:44am PDT View this post on Instagram Hið A post shared by Ira Khan (@khan.ira) on Jun 20, 2017 at 11:45pm PDT However, if we may add, the recent images do present a different story with a touch of romance and going by their previous pictures and posts, we think something might just be brewing between the two. Yet, before we go ahead and claim we know what they are upto, we would like to ask @khan.ira, “BOYFRIEND???!!!”
  6. One of the top performers from the current roster of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and world-renowned wrestler Finn Balor was recently in Dubai to promote Wrestlemania 35 in the Middle East. During his time in the 'City of Gold', he was a guest on the Virgin Radio, Dubai wherein, he answered some of the rather intriguing questions about his career ahead, more specifically about what is in store for him ahead of the biggest calendar event of the organisation, ie; Wrestlemania, come April. While 'The Demon King' was bombarded with questions about his rivals, whatever goes inside a wrestler's mind when he stands in front of a huge audience, his training regimen and his first day as a WWE Superstar, there was a small moment of light-hearted fun, especially for the Indian members of the 'Balor Club'. The 37-year-old Irishman was requested to narrate Indian actor and the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan's famous dialogue from the 1995 blockbuster 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. .@FinnBalor recites @iamsrk's iconic dialogue from #DDLJ! #WWENowIndia pic.twitter.com/SW6F7ui7cp — WWE (@WWEIndia) March 25, 2019 To the utter surprise of everyone present inside the studio, Balor managed to read out the entire dialogue, which by the way, could have made for a nightmare of a tongue twister for all the other non-Hindi speakers, in one, single attempt. The former Intercontinental and Universal champion has shown his desire to take on 'The Undertaker' at Wrestlemania 35. “I would really love to fight Undertaker at WrestleMania, but given the fact that I lost the [IC] title on Monday, I think I'm gonna attempt to convince Stephanie [McMahon] who I know is here at the World Games, to get me a rematch against Bobby Lashley for the IC Title,” Balor said on The Kris Fade Show in the UAE. However, it is highly unlikely to see the Deadman inside the ring any longer as the 54-year-old Mark Calaway has already made it crystal clear that he is not fit to compete and is contemplating the idea of finally retiring as an in-ring performer for good. We can't go against nature and make something impossible happen, no matter how badly we would like to watch 'the Devil's favourite son' go against 'the Demon King'. What we can do is laugh a little on how badly that Demon King struggles to recreate a dialogue SRK delivered nearly a decade and a half ago.
  7. Back in 1994 when the Tom Hanks' classic 'Forrest Gump' hit the theatres, many of us were either too young or too naive to completely appreciate the movie for the marvel that it was. We went back to it years later, often a number of times over the years because it that good, and invigorating and inspiring! View this post on Instagram Happy Birthday @TomHanks! Treat yourself to a Dr. Pepper. A post shared by Forrest Gump (@forrestgumpfilm) on Jul 9, 2018 at 9:11am PDT Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump - the honest and kind to a fault man - took us for a ride that's bound to stick to every individual who has laid their eyes on this film even once. Cut to 2019, and Aamir Khan is all set to star in the Bollywood remake of this classic movie which is going to be called 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. Aamir made the announcement yesterday on the occasion of his 54th birthday and fans are elated! Not only will a turban-clad Aamir essay the titular role in the film, he will also be producing it alongside Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. It is a wonderful story about this character. It is a life-affirming story. It is a feel-good film. It is a film for the whole family." As per latest reports, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' will hit the theatres in 2020, and Aamir will be dropping close to 20 kgs for his character. The film will be directed by 'Secret Superstar' director Advait Chandan and shall be written by Atul Kulkarni. (c) Twitter Aamir told PTI, “We have started the prep work on the film. The shoot will start from October. I will be prepping for six months. I have to lose weight. I will be losing 20 kgs. I have to be lean and slim." We have too many good memories attached to the film, and given Aamir's previous record (let's cut him some slack for 'Thugs Of Hindostan' please), we are expecting some great things from Aamir Khan and 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.
  8. Let's just admit it, we all live in a world ruled by Shah Rukh Khan. So when he says, “I feel like I'm the king of the world” we should just accept that statement without question. Even though he has not delivered a hit in the past couple of years his stardom and, most importantly, fandom remains still unmatched compared to other Bollywood stars. Twitter user Ali Gul Khan took to his account and uploaded a video of five Nigerian boys singing 'Bholi Si Surat' from King Khan's musical hit 'Dil To Pagal Hai' and it is breaking the internet already, proving King Khan is loved by people overseas as much as in India. The clip is all you need to make your weekend all the more cheerful. 9. Salman Khan came on the Kapil Sharma show and that was reason enough for Zain and Shantanu to review it. It goes without saying that they had some vociferous opinions on the episode, the show and Salman Khan.
  10. The much-awaited teaser of Salman Khan's 'Bharat' is out and looks like the Eid of 2019 is going to be a great one for both Salman and his fans. The teaser begins with an overcrowded train entering a railway station in Pakistan, hinting at the time of Partition of India. Then enters the 'Dabangg' Khan aka Salman and takes over the 1 minute 30 seconds video as Bharat, a man who is beyond caste, creed, religion and surname. In fact, in the voiceover, Salman Khan says that his father named him Bharat, after his country. © Salman Khan Films In the teaser, Salman appears to have multiple professions and adventures. He first appears as a badass motorcyclist who jumps through a ring of fire like it's nobody's damn business. He is then shown as a Navy officer and then an ageing boxer. Honestly, this 1 minute 30 seconds video looks better than the 2 hours 40 minutes called 'Race 3'. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, 'Bharat' also stars Katrina Kaif, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Kulkarni, Disha Patani and Nora Fatehi. For those who don't know, 'Bharat' is a remake of a 2014 Korean movie called 'An Ode To My Father'. 'Bharat' is expected to release in June during Eid.
  11. Recently, actor Ranveer Singh turned cupid for Sara and Kartik, after she confessed on 'Koffee With Karan 6' that she has a huge crush on Kartik Aaryan and wanted to date him. After Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, looks like things are now brewing between Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal. When Karan Johar told Vicky on the show, he pretended to faint in disbelief. But, during a recently held award show when he met Katrina, he made sure that he made good use of the opportunity and her previous confession. View this post on Instagram There's a bromance brewing next week on #KoffeeWithKaran with @ayushmannk and @vickykaushal09. #KoffeeWithVicky #KoffeeWithAyushmann A post shared by Star World (@starworldindia) on Dec 9, 2018 at 9:25am PST Vicky asks Katrina when the two were onstage, "Why don't you find a nice boy like Vicky Kaushal and get married to him?" He further explained, "The season of weddings is on, so I thought, you too would want to do the same and so I thought I ought to ask you." Katrina, pretending that she didn't get his point, asks him "What?" and to this Kaushal asks her, "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi?" with the song playing in the background. Katrina couldn't help but blush and replied, "Himmat nahi hai (I don't have the courage)." Instagram But, that's not the best part. On the work front, Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for his next movie, 'Uri' which is based on Indian Army's surgical strikes. Katrina and Salman are busy shooting for 'Bharat'. Karan Johar and the sixth season of his show 'Koffee With Karan' should take immense pride in turning matchmaker for Bollywood celebrities. Karan's rapid fire questions not only compelled celebrities to be at their candid best, but also helped break the ice between the younger crop of actors.
  12. When the two Khans of Bollywood unite, the internet goes into a frenzy. An old video of the 'bhais' in arms having a karaoke session has gone viral. Salman and Shah Rukh Khan are jamming on the classic number 'pyar humein kis mode pe le aaya' . View this post on Instagram Epic stuff! A post shared by Filmfare (@filmfare) on Dec 27, 2018 at 8:26pm PST The 'Karan-Arjun' of B-town had hit a rock bottom when their relationship got patchy a decade ago. They avoided attending parties and functions where they could meet eye to eye and fans were pretty sad with this bromance getting over. © Colors However, seems like the love is real and is not lost after all, because a few years ago, they buried their hatchet and got together. SRK even made an appearance on 'Bigg Boss' which was like making it official that the Khans were back together. Salman recently made an appearance in 'Zero' for a song. Well, all's well that ends well and now we want to call our 'bhai' for a jamming session of our own.
  13. When it comes to being popular, no one can compete with the Pataudi/Khan family. As if Saif and Kareena weren't enough, along came the whirlwind called Taimur, and took the nation by storm. Post that, Sara's spunky appearance on Koffee along with her mature performance in Kedarnath got her a huge fan base already. One person in the family, who hasn't yet been under the pap lights, is Ibrahim. His latest Instagram post, however, tells us that is going to change soon. Take a look. © Instagram/iakpataudi Ibrahim is already famous as Saif's taller carbon copy. He looks exactly like a younger version of his dad - only with better clothes. © Instagram/iakpataudi While Sara looks like a young Amrita, Ibrahim has the royal charm that Saif is all about, and we can't help but think that he has all the potential to make a kickass Bollywood star - at least superficially, for now. © Instagram/iakpataudi We like his old school style game, that is reminiscent of the Pataudi brand of sophistication. We love the subtle shirt along with the bow he is sporting here. © Instagram/iakpataudi What we find really interesting is that despite looking exactly like Saif, he is way taller. Plus, he has the unusual exotic features that will easily set him apart in an industry already crowded with good-looking men. © Twitter © Twitter © Instagram/iakpataudi All the best, Ibrahim!
  14. I thought everyone in this country - and the world - loved Shah Rukh Khan, but turns out I was wrong. Well, when you're one of the most famous people in the country, you end up having to deal with hate and threats, and no, that's not okay, but it still happens. Everything is not exactly okay for King Khan right now, as an Odisha-based outfit has threatened to attack him with ink and show him black flags if he visits the state during the Men's Hockey World Cup slated to kickstart next week. This seemingly random threat by an organization called the 'Kalinga Sena' did not come out of the blue, as there's a long history attached to their grudge. It goes all the way back to SRK's 2001 film 'Asoka' as the Kalinga Sena felt like the movie insulted the culture of Odisha by depicting the Kalinga war wrongly. Moreover, the organization had also previously filed a police complaint against the actor on November 1 for allegedly 'insulting' Odisha and then, even a rally was held to burn his effigy on November 11. Now, that seems a little too much, doesn't it? Okay, just a refresher, here's the story of the Kalinga war. It was a battle between Emperor Asoka and the Kalinga king which was won by Asoka. The movie is like almost two freaking decades old, so obviously, this is not a new issue. Reportedly, 'Asoka' faced problems 17 years ago as well when it came to its release and did not screen in the state for more than a week due to the protests against it. Hemant Rath, the Kalinga Sena chief, has demanded an apology from SRK. In a statement to the press, the outfit's general secretary Nihar Pani said, “We have made preparation to throw ink on the actor's face and show him black flag at any place from the airport to the stadium. Our activists will remain present all along the road where Khan is likely to visit.” As mentioned above, SRK is all set to visit the state in a couple of day for the inauguration of the World Cup at the Kalinga Stadium and therefore the issue and the protests have resurfaced again. Obviously, this calls for extra protection for the actor and the other celebrities set to attend the ceremony and the police have already made arrangement for that, of course.
  15. With the release of 'Thugs of Hindostan' this morning, Aamir Khan's much-anticipated movie of the year has finally opened to the audience. When the film announcement was made two years ago in September 2016, people began to pin high hopes on this one, given that not only was the movie being launched under the YRF banner, but was also said to star two of Bollywood's most renowned names - Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. © Yash raj films Move to 2018, and the movie has already hit the screens this morning to a mixed bag of reactions. The audience hasn't been able to fully accept Aamir as the “bad guy” and Sr. Bachchan seems to be the only saving grace of the movie, as per latest online reviews. However, while the movie's fate still remains undecided, Aamir's thoughtful gesture towards the entire cast and crew of 'Thugs of Hindostan' is already being hailed as a major hit. Last evening, Aamir posted a letter addressing every member of TOH, and expressed his gratitude for their earnest efforts, that collectively helped them to put the movie out for the audience to enjoy. Look at the transcript here: What a touching letter by @aamir_khan as #ThugsOfHindostan releases today. The best part about Aamir is that he acknowledges each n every one in the team irrespective of their role.Thats the sign of a great leader...No shoshebaazi...pure simplicity! Wah! pic.twitter.com/SBTubVn4Zy — Faridoon Shahryar (@iFaridoon) November 8, 2018 As is already evident, Aamir made sure that no one from the entire production team was left out of this 'letter of gratitude' as we'd like to call it. Aamir took out the time to mention people by their names and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their time and efforts over the last two years. Sure, some might say this is another one of Aamir's 'quirky' film promotion ideas after the tie-up with Google maps, and yes it does seem like it to some extent too. However, one can't deny that to name people on a personal post and giving them credit for their work, holds a lot more value and sentimental connection than the credit roll at the end of film showcase (which honestly no one cares to sit through). © Yash raj films It's also great to see how the film promotions have changed over the years, and more celebs have taken to social media to promote films on a personal level. These tactics not only make a greater connection with the audience like in this case, but the publicity only adds to the overall experience of the movie too.
  16. The Indian subcontinent is known as the land of diversity. As a nation, we boast of diverse ethnic, religious and linguistic differences which continue to unite us. While the 21st century has brought along numerous positive changes with itself, there still remains a sense of agitation when it comes to religious sentiments. Religion also seems to be getting in the way of a smooth release for upcoming Bollywood movie 'Kedarnath'. The Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer, revolves around the romantic escapades of Mansoor and Mukku (a Muslim boy and Hindu girl), which seems to have unwittingly hurt socio-religious sentiments by the way of “love jihad”. © RSVP Movies The director of the film Abhishek Kapoor, along with the film's producers are now facing protests for encouraging such cultural interactions in the film. Trade analyst Omar Qureshi told HT that, “The socio-conditions of a country probably make the people cling more to religion”. Even so, most Indians, especially the older generation seems to be quite “touchy” about the subject. What's more, the passionate kissing sequence in the film's teaser has called upon greater disagreements and some critics are even calling it “deliberately provocative” in nature. The agitation has since been sparking rumours of the film reviving the fate of 'Padmaavat' which released earlier this year. © RSVP Movies While we do not believe that religion must be allowed to come in the way of love, there seem to be some who want to keep the two at a distance. With just one day to go before the movie releases on 7th December, the controversy reminds us of the struggles films such as 'PK' and 'Padmaavat' faced not so long ago.
  17. The 'MeToo' movement in our country is a wake-up call for all those eyes and ears which have been shut to a horrendous reality, that happens behind closed doors, on open roads and affects every victim in a different way. Tanushree Dutta shook the foundation of the hypocritical, diabolical world of Bollywood after she accused Nana Patekar of harassing her on a film set years ago. Her many interviews explain the trauma she had to endure, and how instead of helping her, everyone in the crew went against her and she was forced to stay silent. This bold move opened the gates of courage for many women, both in the industry and outside of it, to speak their story out loud and share their trauma with the world. Soon the social media was flooded with a plethora of #MeToo stories that shocked and baffled us in equal measure. Amongst the names of many perpetrators, AIB co-founders Tanmay Bhat, Gursimram Khamba and even Alok Nath were called out by various women. While every accused man is trying to either issue an apology or wash off these accusations, it is the deafening silence of the big Bollywood stars on this entire boiling issue of sexual misconduct, that is jarring the most. 'Queen' director Vikas Bahl was accused by several women, including Kangana Ranaut of misconduct and instead of offering her major support, most superstars have decided to stay shut. May we ask why? Is it because it might affect your double-faced relations in the industry, or is it costing you an entire movie? Offering support and calling out perpetrators is what these so-called 'influencers' have cleverly chosen to ignore. © Instagram In a recent interview, Bollywood Imran Khan came up and spoke openly about the entire Vikas Bahl episode. His statements are an eye-opener and make you question the shallow nature of this industry, that is supposedly meant to give wings to one's dreams. Imran claims that the entire industry knew about Vikas Bahl but everyone chose to ignore it. “I think it was long long long overdue. There have been times when I wanted to speak out. I was advised to stay quiet because they said people will assume I am trying to grab publicity. They (people) will say I am trying to become relevant and come in the news since my films have not worked well. Time and again, people around me will tell me to not speak up. There are a lot of things that have happened in front of me and bothered me for years. Even after being aware of so many things, I could not say it out because I somewhere felt no one will support me on it.” © Instagram Speaking of a first-hand account that he witnessed, he shared the details of how deep-rooted this problem is and just how 'normal' it is for everyone to accept this behaviour. “Very early in my career, there was a director who was auditioning for the female lead in a film. He made girls do a photoshoot in bikinis, in sexy poses. These photographs went straight to the director's personal laptops. These were not costume tests. These were not even used for marketing. So, what was he doing with these photographs? Later, he was showing these photos to the three shortlisted actresses and other women on the sets. I found it appalling. It is sexism and definitely an emotional and mental harassment. It was a wrong usage of power. There is a story later that happened with the actress. I hope she speaks of it through the story I am telling, it is her choice," he said. About Vikas Bahl, Imran blatantly claims that Bollywood is not a stranger to this issue, “everyone is talking about Vikas Bahl. I have heard his stories from three other actresses. Ranging from inappropriate touching to straight up saying that 'if you were cast in the film, what will I get in return?'. Again, I am telling you what I know directly through the actresses or from the industry. The story of this girl (in case of Vikas Bahl) came somewhere a year ago, if I am not wrong. Everyone in the film industry knew. I was at a social gathering 5-6 months ago, with a lot of people and the conversation came about MeToo movement in Hollywood. At a point, I said 'what about Bollywood?'. The Vikas Bahl matter was brushed under the carpet, a few weeks after the news first appeared, I saw him smiling, posing for pictures with every celebrity in the industry. At that point, he started making a film with Hrithik (Roshan). I was like how is it in Hollywood a culprit is shunned but here he was making a proper film. Everyone was socialising with him. So, I brought it up at the party and realised only I was the odd one there.” © Instagram While we are glad that a mainstream Bollywood figure has spoken, we still wonder how long will it be before others let the skeletons out of the closet. It is funny and obnoxious at the same time that our beloved stars go all out for campaigns and voice opinions about issues, when their movies are around the corner or they are associated with a certain brand. True, it took Imran years to open up about this and this doesn't mean that he is not guilty of hiding behind the garb of Bollywood's golden silence, but we do give credit to the man for at least asking women to speak up. “These people might not come out in open, but I wanted to stand up and say I support them completely. I cannot be silent about it anymore. My conscience will not allow me to. As a man, I know what it is to say that. I do not want to deal with negative publicity, but how these women have come out is brave. I do not want them to feel that men in the industry are not standing by them. I have chosen my words and said what I intended to say. I have been silent for long enough and it makes me feel dirty.” The people who were lauding Hollywood for its brave 'MeToo' movement are the same people who chose to wrap their silence in crafted hypocrisy. What they forget is the fact that people are evolving and no one is a fool here. You might wonder that an actor's job is to simply entertain and work towards making a wonderful movie for the fans, but allow me to explain how they also have a social responsibility to speak up for things when the issues demand their attention. Our influencers, our idols tweet and post about random things and portray an example of how certain people might want to be, so why on Earth, when this is happening in your fraternity and people you work and party with are involved, you simply choose to not speak up?
  18. Seems like we have a back-to-back string of proud moments for every art loving, cinema appreciating Indian out there. After Rima Das' 'Village Rockstars' became the official entry for India to the Oscars 2019, turns out that Bangladesh's official entry now has a wonderful Indian connection. Irrfan Khan's 'Doob- No Bed Of Roses' is now their official entry for the Academy Awards next year. The movie has been co-produced by Irrfan himself and follows the story of a filmmaker, who finds himself simmering in controversy after a tryst with his daughter's friend, that lands him in a soup. The movie has been written and directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and is apparently inspired by a real-life story which actually shook the conservative Bangladeshi society. © Jaaz Multimedia The movie was banned in the country after everyone claimed that it was loosely based on the life of Humayun Ahmed, a famous Bangladeshi filmmaker who divorced his wife of 27 years and married an actress 33 years his junior. © jaaz mutimedia The ban was eventually lifted last year in October, after which the movie was viewed in many countries and won many critical accolades as well.
  19. When it comes to cricket, no match can ever even match up to the excitement of India playing against Pakistan. These are the only two teams that, when playing together, can make everyone from both sides of the border just sit in front of the TV, waiting for their country's win. This time, as we all know, India came out victorious and there were celebrations all around us. Obviously, Indians on Twitter celebrated the only way they know how to – making jokes at the expense of our neighbouring country. But, it's all cool, it's all in good fun. While we've seen all the jokes and memes, there was another highlight from the match that people couldn't help but talk about online, just because it was that heart-warming. It wasn't only India that won yesterday, even Yuzvendra Chahal won everyone's heart with his one kind gesture. During the match, he helped Pakistan's Usman Khan tie his shoelaces and it has garnered praise from everyone. 21. Can you even imagine Bollywood without Shah Rukh Khan? The man is indeed an essential part of the industry and owns the hearts of millions. But have you ever wondered who gave King Khan the initial support he needed to become the man he is today? “Friday Night: Me u and my leather jacket...” Finally a chilly enough day to wear my jacket & yeah 60's kinda hairstyle. This is the most fashionable I can get...! A post shared by Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) on May 18, 2018 at 2:08pm PDT We are familiar with the story of how he struggled initially in the industry, but there was someone who played an essential part in transforming him into the King of Bollywood, and we finally know who it is. SRK recently made an appearance on the final episode of Salman Khan's show 'Dus Ka Dum' and threw light on an unknown chapter from his life. Rani Mukherjee was also a part of the episode and the three stars walked down the memory lanes of their 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' days, making us nostalgic as well. © Twitter Whenever SRK and Salman are together, you can't expect it to be anything less than a fun-filled episode. There is something about their dosti that makes us admire Karan-Arjun even more. However, SRK isn't close just to Salman, as he also shares a special bond with his family. In the episode, SRK dedicated his success and fame to Salman Khan's father Salim Khan. “The first time I came to Mumbai as a struggling actor, I had my meals at Salman's place where Salim Khan Ji supported me a lot. It is because of them I have become 'Shah Rukh Khan'. I have come on the show only because of Salman and I will go wherever he tells me to go.” IANS quoted him as saying. © Twitter A beautiful tale indeed! © RedChillies On the work front, SRK is gearing up for Anand L Rai's 'Zero', in which Salman has a cameo. We can't wait for the movie to release and see SRK in a never-seen-before avatar.
  22. Salman Khan doesn't experiment when it comes to fashion. In fact, he's so sure of his style game, that he hasn't tried anything new for the longest time. But he doesn't need to, either. What he wears perfectly compliments his form, and his signature bootcuts still survive in a world dominated by tapered, cropped trousers. Naturally, the moment he sported a new beard style, we couldn't help but take notice. He was just spotted at the airport in a brand new, salt-n-pepper bearded avatar that we have never seen him sport before. Is the beard going to be his latest accessory when he hosts the next season of Bigg Boss? We sure will find out soon! Take a look at his beard. © Viral Bhayani Talking about accessories, however, we couldn't help but notice the bag Bhai is carrying. The Louis Vuitton Roadster duffle bag is a classic, and it costs a whopping Rs 1.28 Lakhs, approximately. However, does it manage to steal the thunder of his brand new beard? Hell no. Try harder, bag. © Viral Bhayani Even though Salman is maintaining his signature jeans and T-shirt aesthetic, the grey fitted T-shirt is a welcome deviation from the usual black he swears by. We love the nonchalance that the outfit exudes. © Viral Bhayani Coming to accessories, Salman of course has his favourite bracelet on. Other than that, he decided to keep it minimal with statement sunnies, and a belt that goes perfectly with his boots. © Viral Bhayani Everything said and done, however, we just can't get over that brand new, badass salt-n-pepper beard!
  23. Think of sartorial sensibilities for 30,000 feet above and you'd be blessed with names of a lot of stylish men. #AirportStyle — as they call it — is now a move of the top dogs and is soon, even trickling down to the ordinary. After all, you can find the love of your life anywhere, right? Even at a boarding terminal; so you rather be prepared. Saif Ali Khan, though married, exudes his personal swagger even while flying. But mind you: he may be a high-flying, business class traveller, but he hardly dresses the part; that's just his way of life and we're no one to complain. Because after all, he's a Nawab, who's always raining on his own parade. So, for his recent airport outfit in Mumbai, he did exactly that. © Viral Bhayani Going by this visual above, Saif's style slogan seems simple: walk into a terminal like you're getting into bed (and just keeping rolling in it). Throw in a bandana in the combo (a style-signature), Kolhapuris (because, he's in an Independence Day hangover) and headphones, because "I don't care if you're shouting my name, bro". Takeaway: whether at the airport or in situations outside, Khan's style is chill at all times. Does this mean dressing up adversely for #AirportStyle is a trend that's now officially dead? © Viral Bhayani That said, as much as we say and call his 'chill', we must appreciate the fact that this is a unique, well-planned out style flex. Sure, there's just a T-shirt and trackpants in there, but notice the timepiece on the wrist, tinted sunnies, colour-twinning with the bandana and headphones and, well, that Louis Vuitton bag, that's the single-most symbol of his bank balance here. Worth just a few lakhs maybe? And though, we would have loved some trimming on the beard, let's just call this his lazy day! © Viral Bhayani Clearly, this is a reminder that Airport style isn't something that needs to be forced down one's throat. What style-route you want to take or whether you even want to really care is something you don't need to push yourself into. Much like Saif Ali Khan, men like Shah Rukh Khan too prefer chill dressing over being overtly dramatic (or forcibly put-together) at the airport. Looks like, bigger the bank balance, more the modesty. Since when did this become a famous man-thing?
  24. 'Bigg Boss' fans, the week has begun on a bang, as the teaser for Season 12 just dropped. If you thought it will be a while before we see Salman Khan back on the television, you are in for a surprise. The most controversial reality show is all set to go on air and we finally got a glimpse of what the theme is going to be all about. © Colors In the teaser, the actor this time has donned the hat of a class teacher giving instruction to his students. Every student comes from a different background, presenting a different story altogether. As we revealed earlier, the show will have contestants in pairs as well as alone. The latest season is all about jodis and that has created quite a buzz. © Colors Ranging from that of mother-son, father-daughter, and siblings, the show will have various duos. We will see six celebs and six commoners. Some interesting celebrities will be making it to 'Bigg Boss' this time if things go as per plan. Check out the teaser now: 'Bigg Boss 12' will premiere on September 16 on Colors and we are all set for our daily dose of uber entertainment and fun!
  25. We all know about Priyanka Chopra's abrupt exit from Salman Khan's 'Bharat'. The news did disappoint many, as her fans were eagerly waiting for her Bollywood comeback. While a certain producer called Priyanka's exit 'unprofessional', director Ali Abbas Zafar, on the other hand, hinted towards her getting engaged to Nick Jonas and looked genuinely happy for her. Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Cast changes at the end moment, but it is professionalism that counts. Listening to Salman, presented a different picture altogether. The actor's response was savage, snarky but on point. © Twitter “I 've not been reading the newspapers for the past 3-4 days. I've been busy with things. When journalists tried to push him he laughed and said, 'You know the reason of course.' But it was later on that they got to know that she had signed a Hollywood project. © Twitter The actor said they would have let her quit in either situation. Be it marriage or her signing a Hollywood movie. He also joked saying, ''It seems that she doesn't want to work with Salman,'' the actor added. #salmankhan on #priyankachopra leaving #bharat A post shared by Bollywood Daily (@bollywooddaily.insta) on Aug 6, 2018 at 9:56pm PDT Well, it was fun to see Salman in a witty mode. However, maintaining his dignity at the moment he also congratulated her and said that she is making India proud and he is happy for her. © Twitter Well, PeeCee's exit has definitely disappointed her B-town fans. But then again, someone's loss is someone's gain. And this time, it is Katrina Kaif who will once again be seen romancing Salman Khan.
