  1. In what sadly turned out to be a one-sided affair, the Pakistani cricket team failed to negate Team India's challenge in the much-anticipated clash at Old Trafford at the ongoing ICC World Cup. Overshadowed in almost all facets of the game, Sarfaraz Ahmed's men extended their dismal run against India at the ICC event, following their 89-run loss (D/L) on 16th June. From being wayward in their bowling to paying dearly for their batting collapse, the Pakistani cricket team attracted a lot of criticism from their fans for failing to put up a fight against Virat Kohli's men. While some used Sarfaraz's infamous picture from the game - where he was seen yawning behind the stumps - to highlight their batting woes, others slammed the Pakistani cricketers for their poor fitness. The way he said "criticise the team but within the boundaries of respect" has won my respect. While India's vice-captain left everyone in splits with his cheeky response, boxing star Amir Khan has offered a helping hand to the Pakistani cricketers. Would love to help Pakistan cricket team with some advise on how to stay fit and strong. How to be disciplined on food, diet and training. 2. Bharat Movie Cast: Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Kulkarni, Disha Patani, Satish Kaushik Bharat Movie Director: Ali Abbas Zafar Bharat Movie Rating: 4/5 Salman Khan and Eid go hand in hand. Ever wondered why Salman's fans celebrate his every movie like a big festival? Well, you might not find any probable answer to this, but it's a given that his followers treat his movies like the most-awaited event of the season, and with good reason too. This time, the audience has been served with a mixed bowl of emotions and actions on their platter with 'Bharat' and when you have Ali Abbas Zafar as a director, you know the movie has a lot to offer. 'Bharat' will make you laugh, cry and even feel patriotic at the same time. The basic root of the film is the tragic story of those who lost their loved ones when a bunch of 'corrupt politicians' decided to cut through 'Bharat' and make it India and Pakistan. If you are thinking of investing your money and time into 'Bharat', then you can probably go ahead, because it won't disappoint you at all. There is a chance you could feel a sense of deja vu, as you might get a rush of memories from Salman's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' days, as there is a similar element of emotion and patriotism. In all honesty, 'Bharat' is the perfect Eidi after the disastrous sob-fest that was 'Race 3' (no offence to the makers, clearly). 'Bharat' is an official adaptation of a South Korean drama 'Ode to my Father' (2014). The movie shows Salman in five avatars, dating from 1947 to 2010. So, the young Bharat is separated from his father and sister during the Indo-Pak partition in 1947, after which he dedicates his entire life to the one promise that he made to his father (played by Jackie Shroff), that he will always take care of his family. Of course, goes without saying that 'Bharat' is an absolute treat for those who have been dying to see Katrina Kaif and Salman on the big screen together again. The chemistry between the two is simply brilliant, and their cute banter throughout the movie will make you question if they are equally close off-screen as well. Katrina, in terms of acting, has surely come a long way. Those who have seen 'Zero' would agree with my statement. Katrina, in 'Bharat', is free-spirited and bold and people are bound to love this avatar of hers. If you're wondering about Salman's performance, then you probably should see the film for yourself, because if I tell you, I reckon I would be stealing your joy of watching Bhai in all his glory. The cherry on the cake has to be Sunil Grover, and in every sense, he finally has his perfect big Bollywood movie. Ali has made sure that Sunil's character doesn't fade or lose focus before Salman's presence. Disha Patani makes a brief period appearance but still manages to impress you with her killer looks and moves. Every character in the movie is justified and why not? It's an Ali Abbas Zafar movie after all. Yes, the movie is lengthy and just before the interval, you might feel that it is a bit stretched, but don't worry, 'Bharat' picks up the pace rather soon again. The movie is not limited to just the love story between Bharat and Kumud (Katrina Kaif). It recounts significant historic instances of our nation, like the 1947 partition, Jawaharlal Nehru's death, the 1983 Cricket World Cup, liberalization, and yes, even globalization. The score of the movie has done a brilliant job in keeping up with changing eras and gives the audience the perfect feel of a rapidly progressing nation. Just like any movie, 'Bharat' is also not perfect and has its own decent share of flaws. However, it does not leave you disappointed or feeling unsatisfied. So, book your tickets and watch this Salman movie. Try not to overanalyze everything you see and you are bound to come out of the hall feeling sated!
  3. Neeraj 'Gangster' Goyat is probably the most badass name in the professional boxing industry in India right now. Ever since his days as an amateur boxer, Goyat was one of India's top prospects and continued to make good on his name even after turning pro, as he won the Asia WBC Championship in the welterweight category with a record of 11 wins, three draws and only two losses. On Friday, in a press conference, Pakistan-origin boxer and 2004 Olympic silver medallist, Amir Khan announced his next fight against Goyat with an 'India vs Pakistan' flavour to the bout, which is scheduled to be held on 12th July at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. We got in touch with the Begampur-born to get his insight on the fight. “Ever since my win in Toronto, I have been completely focused on my training without any injuries, thankfully.” View this post on Instagram à¤à¤²à¤¤ à¤à¥ à¤à¤²à¤¤ à¤à¤° सहॠà¤à¥ सहॠà¤à¤¹à¤¨à¥ à¤à¥ हिमà¥à¤®à¤¤ रà¤à¤¤à¤¾ हà¥à¤ तभॠà¤à¤ à¤à¤² मà¥à¤ रिशà¥à¤¤à¥à¤ à¤à¤® रà¤à¤¤à¤¾ हà¥à¤ ! I think he really wanted this fight to happen.” When asked about his chances of doing well against Amir Khan, Goyat said: “We both had our fights at the same time and while he quit his fight (against Terrance Crawford) in the third of fourth round, I went on to win mine (against Carlos Lopez Marmolejo). So I believe that I am a lot better than him in the fitness department. But at the same time, when I started boxing in 2006, Khan had already won an Olympic silver medal and I believe that his experience will count big time.” View this post on Instagram That feeling you get when you know it's the final round and you have given it your all! As far as Vijender Singh is concerned, he got his fame by getting into movies and reality shows, it was not all because of boxing. This is exactly why I said yes to this fight against Amir Khan, maybe after this fight, people in this country will acknowledge boxing a little bit more.” While the youngblood looked ready for the fight, Amir Khan, on the other hand, could not praise Goyat enough for his bravery and courage to step up when his senior, Vijender Singh, failed to do. View this post on Instagram Khan v Goyat press conference in Pakistan Karachi. Next press conference will be on the 6th June in England. ð¥ A post shared by Amir Khan (@amirkingkhan) on Jun 1, 2019 at 1:12pm PDT “That is why I respect Neeraj so much. While Vijender never spoke a word about the challenge I had extended, Neeraj grabbed at the opportunity and is excited about it,” said the Olympic silver medallist. “Everyone is expecting me to win but Neeraj can cause a lot of problems for me. I have to make sure that I bring my 'A' game to the ring. If I end up losing to him, I might as well retire. I will have to put on a great performance for the people of India and Pakistan.” “We have here a great opportunity to resolve the India-Pakistan issues inside the ring and instead of the border.”
  4. Time and again I have said this that no amount of words can ever be enough to express our gratitude to our soldiers for their bravery, fearlessness, courage and selflessness. They put their lives at risk, get fatally injured and despite going through it all, always keep a huge smile on their faces and courage and pride intact in their hearts. Wikimedia One such brave jawan is Major DP Singh, a Kargil War hero. Major Singh lost a leg during Operation Vijay, but his Twitter bio reads "Enjoying KargilWar wounds" with a wink. Recently, he shared an emotional post which left a lot of people emotional and in tears. One of them is Aamir Khan who got goosebumps after reading his post. Major Singh wrote that 'Sarfarosh' was the last film he saw 20 years ago, before losing a leg. He mentioned how he saw 'Sarfarosh' in theatres back then and now he saw it on TV. "That time on both legs. Now one less. My last movie as intact before I joined unit for #OpVijay in May 1999." Exactly 20 years ago I watched movie #Sarfarosh of @aamir_khan and same I did just now. 5. "He may have aged, but he's still a lion uncaged!" We are not saying this, the makers and scriptwriters of 'Bharat' are, in this latest dialogue promo that was released today. Well, we don't know when Salman Khan's transition from being a 'Tiger' to a lion happened, but he's fierce regardless. And this promo is just a glimpse of how 'Bharat' is going to be much more than Salman romancing and dancing with Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani. T-Series In case you didn't know this already, the movie is a remake of the South Korean hit film 'An Ode To My Father' and will see Salman Khan in different characters ranging from an 18-year-old to a 72-year-old. T-Series We have already seen in trailers and teasers how Salman will look like as a circus artist or as a Navy officer, now it's time for us to see how an old Salman (probably in his 70s) will look like, while fighting with goons. T-Series The 20-second video shows a grandpa Salman being bullied by some goons. As expected Salman's 'andar ka boodha sher' awakens and he thrashes all of them with his bare hands (something only he can do). Is it just me or the action scenes and Salman looked strikingly similar to how he was in 'Kick' (only some years older)? Maybe, if 'Kick' makers ever plan to make a series, here's how Salman will look like in 'Kick 20'. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, 'Bharat' is releasing on June 5 and also stars Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff and Nora Fatehi.
  6. The verdict is finally here. Well, almost. The day of the final judgement, if you will, has declared the fate of our beloved country for the next five years. Most national news channels have been up and running since 6 AM this morning, throwing out data and figures our way, from the recently concluded rounds of polling, and by 12 noon today the Indian subcontinent knew all too well what's in store. © Getty Images We have chosen our leader for the next five years, and that too by a whopping majority. With over 300 seats to itself in the Lok Sabha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is basically enjoying a clean sweep (yet again) win across the country. While the country has stepped out to celebrate the big win along with the winning party, how could our neighbouring nation stay behind? Sure enough, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, took to Twitter to congratulate PM Narendra Modi and NDA on their big win. I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia — Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) May 23, 2019 However, what caught people's attention was the fact that Imran Khan, once again, expressed his desire to take up peace talks with India, and work towards a progressive and prosperous future. © Twitter This is coming just over a month after the Pakistan PM said during a press conference that he believes there may be a better chance of peace talks with India, if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win the elections. © Twitter We are all for sharing amicable and friendly ties with Pakistan, who only seem like an extension of India in a lot of ways, given our shared history together. On multiple occasions, we have heard about how the common people on both sides of the LOC share their desire to live on friendly terms with each other, and for once, we dearly hope Pakistan will walk the talk and help establish strong, peaceful ties between the two countries.
  7. The selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board have been extremely busy ever since they first announced their preliminary 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019, to be held in England and Wales. While the team disclosed the tentative names of the players on 18th April 2019, a lot has changed within the roster, especially after the five-game ODI series that was held against the World Cup hosts, Team England. Just moments after the unfortunate news of Pakistani middle order batsman, Asif Ali's daughter's death due to cancer broke out, the PCB announced their final list of players who will be wearing the green jersey for the quadrennial contest on Monday. As compared to the list that was announced last month, the selectors have replaced Abid Ali with Asif Ali and Wahad Riaz has taken away the World Cup berth from Faheem Ashraf. While most of the changes were taken by the dropped and recalled players in good stride, one player in particular, lefty pacer Junaid Khan was not a big fan of the switcheroo that too place between Mohammad Amir and him. The 29-year-old therefore decided to show his protest towards the selectors of the Pakistan national team and the Pakistan board of the game by sharing a rather cryptic picture of himself from his social media accounts, which the athlete later removed: © Twitter/Junaid Khan "I dont want to say anything. Truth is bitter. (Sach karwa hotha hai)," Junaid wrote on a Twitter post along with the aforementioned picture of himself in which the cricketer can be seen wearing a black tape over his mouth. According to Inzamam-ul-Haq, Chairman of the selection committee of the PCB, the decision with regards to Junaid and the rest of the pacers was made after taking into consideration their poor bowling display in the 0-4 series loss to Eoin Morgan's English cricket team. "Junaid and Faheem (Ashraf) are dropped but that doesn't mean they are not good. But we think players like Amir and Wahab are more suitable for these conditions, which is why we have preferred them," Inzamam-ul-Haq said.
  8. One of the worst kept secrets in the history of modern cricket has to be the real age of the former Pakistan cricket team captain, Shahid Afridi. The man, who is considered to be 44 years old right now, based on various public records, has finally revealed in his autobiography titled 'Game Changer', that at the time of registering his name for an Under-14 cricket tournament during his childhood, he had no idea how old he was and filled in whatever age the people around him told him to. That age got recorded into the Pakistan Cricket Board's files and went on to become Afridi's official birth year. Amused by the fact that Shahid Afridi has revealed the worst kept secret in international cricket. But I have always believed that unless you are playing an U19 World Cup, your age doesn't matter. — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) May 3, 2019 The record for the fastest hundred in the ODI format of the game was under the name of Afridi who, while batting in international cricket for the very first time hit a ton in just 37 balls, which is 11 fewer than the previous record set by Sri Lanka's Jayasuriya against Pakistan in Singapore six months earlier. At the time, it was officially declared that the Afridi was in fact a 16-year-old, which made the record that much more impressive. Now, the former skipper has come out in the open saying that his actual age at the time was 19 (21 according to the autobiography) and the gravity of that record just crumbles down. A byproduct of the revelation of the whole facade is that cricket fans have now brought back Afghanistan's extremely talented cricketer, Rashid Khan into the spotlight, trying to figure out his “real age”. According to his ICC profile, Rashid Khan was born on 20th September 1998, which makes the ICC World Rank 1 (T20I, Bowling), all of 20 years of age right now. Clearly, after the Shahid Afridi episode, people online are not buying Khan's story: Shahid Afridi : I was born in 1975 and not 1980 Cricket fans to Rashid Khan : pic.twitter.com/d1HCXXgAE0 — Bollywood Gandu (@BollywoodGandu) May 3, 2019 Shahid Afridi today, Rashid Khan tomorrow ðð — ACS ð¹ð¹ð¦ð¬ (@AdamSamuel__) May 3, 2019 Is Shahid Afridi younger than Rashid Khan? — Keyur (@_bollywoodlover) May 11, 2019 Rashid Khan koi angle se 20 21 ka nhi lagta ...his actual age is above 25 ....just like Afridi.. — Abhishek Pandey (@paandey1993) May 9, 2019 After the successful release of Shahid Afridi's game changer Rashid Khan has started working on his autobiography as well. 9. Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan in a movie together? It's surely a hard pill to digest but reports floating around suggest that the dimpled beauty has finally given a nod to sharing screen space with Khan in 'Kick 2'. Their pairing has been on the cards for a long time, but nothing really materialized. If a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, the two will be seen in one frame now. For all their fans, it will surely be a visual delight. A source told the entertainment website that Deepika was the first choice for 'Kick' but things back then didn't really pan out. Jacqueline Fernandez stepped into the role and it was a turning point in her career. The source added that Deepika's role has been given full attention. "Deepika can't play just a typical Salman heroine. Her role has to be as powerful as Salman's. Sajid is working on it, injecting heft into the female lead," said the source. © Instagram/Colors Wondering why the two superstars possibly coming together for 'Kick 2' is a massive development? It's because the two have a history and not a particularly pleasant one. By history, we mean their statements about each other in the public domain weren't too pleasing. Salman, in a statement, had called depression a luxury and said that he can't afford to be depressed as it will work against him. This didn't go down pretty well with the 'Piku' actor and she gave it back saying, "Depression is sometimes perceived as a luxury... (But) It is important to break that myth." Deepika has rejected not one but six big movies with Salman Khan. But now, if this development turns out to be true, it seems like the two have let bygones be bygones. Are you excited to see Deepika and Salman in one frame? Let us know in the comments section below.
  10. Salman Khan is gearing up for the Eid release of his much-awaited, blockbuster in the making, 'Bharat' and is currently busy shooting for his 'Dabangg 3'. However with everyone experimenting with the web-series genre, one wonders if 'Bhai' would ever consider this medium as his preferred choice of making content. Unlike Saif Ali Khan, who is doing a fantastic job with 'Sacred Games', Salman holds a very different perspective towards making and acting in a web series. In one of his recent interviews, he shared his views on why he doesn't want to work in one. “I don't like it. I mean, it's a damn good space but I don't like all that is being shown on the digital platforms.” Talking about censorship being a problem with the digital medium, he added, “In films, if there are three-four extra punches, it gets censored and we get an A certificate. We get a U/A certificate only when we cut some scenes but on the web, they show anything and everything. There is no censorship. There should be an appointed body that takes that call. My problem is that young kids are also watching it because everyone has access to a phone. So, that's not cool with me.” Salman is very happy with his choice of films and wants it to remain that way. Even though it's his personal choice, we kind of feel his reasoning is a bit absurd, as with the world switching to a 'Netflix and chill' mode, many major superstars are foraying into this world. But then again, he is 'Bhai' and can still pull a sizeable number of fans to the theatres, we guess.
  11. Bollywood has had a long-standing affair with Switzerland and somewhere we too fell in love with the country, vicariously through them. Ask anyone about Switzerland, and most of their conversation will revolve around Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's budding romance on the streets of Switzerland, from 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. Or those dance numbers where actresses wearing sarees are dancing on the snow-capped mountains. © MensXP I won't lie, somewhere my idea about Switzerland too was heavily influenced by Bollywood. But, all of it changed when I got a chance to visit the country a few weeks ago. I always wanted to go to Switzerland, but it was all a distant dream as I wasn't financially strong enough to fund my trip. But, thanks to Switzerland Tourism and their exceptional hospitality, the next thing I know I was sitting on a plane to Zurich and clicking and posting pictures with the locals and binging on chocolates and cheese. © MensXP Today, I want to share my story about how much Switzerland has impacted me. It also made me realise that the quaint country has so much more to offer than just be a place where Bollywood songs and movies were shot, with actors posing shirtless in snow and flaunting their six-pack abs. 1. Pack Comfortable Clothes Instead Of 'OOTD' To begin with, no you cannot stand shirtless or in a saree in the snow. Even dreaming about doing it can send shivers down your spine because of the temperature, which drops to as low as -15 degrees to -20, even in March. So, please don't dream of wearing normal boots or heels or try to act stylish to get OOTDs. Carry warm and comfortable clothes (without adding tons of layers), gloves, and lots and lots of sunscreen. © MensXP 2. Don't Take Euros Instead Of Swiss Franc Don't trade your cash for Euros, instead of Swiss Franc. Switzerland is an expensive country and if you end up paying extra in the currency conversion process, it will only burn more holes in your pockets. Also, be doubly sure about the multi-currency card you're carrying, else you will be stuck with a different country's currency, like me. So, no matter who says what, convert your money to Swiss Franc (CHF) only, for smooth hassle-free transactions. 3. Why Is The Swiss Franc Symbol Called CHF While most of us call it Swiss Franc and Swiss currency, most of us never bothered to notice or know why the symbol is CHF? Well, not many people know that the Latin name of Switzerland is 'Confoederatio Helvetica', which also means 'Swiss Confederation'. The symbol CH can be found on postal stamps, coins and even on the car stickers. © MensXP 4. There Are Four Official Languages In Switzerland This was my first trip to Switzerland, so I entertained and dug into all kinds of questions possible, which brought me to this - "What is the official language of the country?" Trust me, the number of people who asked this were more than the number of friends I have. So, let me clear that too for all you guys. It will come handy, in case you're planning a trip soon. Firstly, there is no such thing as 'Swiss language'. There are four official languages that people speak: German, French, Italian and Romansh. Reason? Switzerland comprises of 26 cantons and if we take a look at history, each of these cantons were fully sovereign states and had their own borders, armies, customs and languages. © MensXP Over the years, the government never forced any of the cantons to speak a uniform language, so they continue to retain and speak different languages, which also represents the geographical and cultural boundaries that Switzerland is surrounded by. But, don't be scared since these are not the only languages they can speak. Most people understand and speak in English too. 5. Switzerland Has A Kickass Transportation System Despite being an alpine country and surrounded by lakes and covered in snow for the most part of the year, Switzerland has a kickass transportation system, one of the world's finest actually. Let's be honest, living in Delhi has spoiled me beyond my expectations. I don't think I am the only one in thinking that cabs have made me lazy and privileged. People have stopped walking or taking buses or even metros for that matter. © MensXP Switzerland (even if it was for a week) changed my mindset. The transport is so freaking awesome, that you don't feel the need to take cabs. Also, did I tell you that cabs can be freakishly expensive? From trains, buses, cruise, bicycles to even walking; the systematic timetable connects people with any desired point. © MensXP 6. Swiss People Are VERY Punctual And Organised Swiss people are really punctual, unlike us. If the train or bus is scheduled to leave at 10: 30, it will LEAVE at 10:30 - neither 10:29 nor 10:31. Further, no person crosses roads if the signal is red, irrespective of whether there are any cars or not. Something we can never expect here. No wonder, Swiss people are so fit, despite consuming kilos of cheese and chocolates. 7. The Swiss Love Their Cheese And Chocolates Talking about cheese, can you guess how much cheese does a person in Switzerland consume in a year? 10, 20, or 50 kilos? Well, when I visited a cheese factory, I found there is more to cheese than just parmesan or cheddar and the correct number is 21.4 kilos. Oh, and they eat nearly 12 kilos of chocolate in a year. In fact, wherever I went and whatever I ordered (even if it was just a glass of water), I always got complementary chocolates. They serve chocolates everywhere, even the bed you sleep on will have chocolates kept on it. © MensXP 8. You Can Take Your Pets Literally Anywhere Also, here's something I didn't know about Switzerland but instantly fell in love with. This 'heaven on earth' is very dog-friendly (any pet in general actually). You can take your dog almost everywhere, outdoor cafes, buses, trains, cruise to even some hotels. But, there are some rules and taxes for animals, especially social pets like guinea pigs. © MensXP 9. Drinking Water Everywhere...Even In Your Bathroom Also, it is believed that water in Switzerland (Europe in general) is so clean that people drink water directly from the basin in their bathroom. Umm, coming from India I had a really difficult time adjusting to that fact and the reasons are known to all of us. We are so used to drinking water from water purifiers here, so we can't even imagine heading to the bathroom to take a drink of water. So, I took bottles instead, only to find that there are two types of water people drink there - sparkling and tap. So, when I said mineral water, I got a pack of sparkling water bottles (blame some of it to the language barrier) that has a distinct taste and not everyone likes it. And the water is super expensive there. So if you're fine drinking water from the bathroom, go for it; else make sure you get a bottle of tap water and not sparkling one. © MensXP 10. Switzerland Is Really Safe For Solo Female Travellers Lastly, being a solo woman traveller, safety is something that was a primary concern for me. Surprisingly, travelling alone in a foreign land turned out to be a safer experience for me than travelling within the country. The country is super safe, connectivity is strong and people are friendly, although they prefer that you respect their boundaries. After I came back, my perception of the beautiful country changed. I wasn't in love with Switzerland anymore because of the Bollywood songs or movies shot there. I feel in love with the incredible beauty of Mount Titlis, the picturesque renaissance architecture, the captivating snowfall, the local beverage 'Rivella', the various types of cheese and chocolates, the roads, the transport museum, the snow-capped mountains I saw from the train and everything in between. Thank you Switzerland for teaching and showing things to me I barely knew about, and I look forward to seeing you again.
  12. At an age when most of us were struggling with homework and what games to play, he was busy dancing with bigwigs like Salman Khan (who also happens to be his idol). From 'Dance Bangla Dance', 'Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa', 'India's Got Talent' to even 'Comedy Nights With Kapil', there's not a single reality show, which this talented kid has not been a part of. Twitter We're talking about Akshat Singh from Mumbai, who impressed everyone with his goofy antics and awesome dance performances. Fast forward to the present time and now at all of 13, Akshat has made the entire nation proud by representing India at 'Britain's Got Talent'. YouTube Hailing from Mumbai, Akshat not only stood confidently in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Williams, but also compelled them to give him a standing ovation. Akshat's desi swag and crazy moves on a song from Hrithik Roshan's 'Agneepath' moved people so much that even Ant and Dec couldn't stop themselves from using their Golden Buzzer. This means Akshat has already secured a place in the live shows. YouTube "I have two mottos in life: to make people happy and to show that nothing is impossible," Akshat told the judges before he blew everyone's minds away with his Bollywood dance moves. YouTube The judges were already impressed, but when it was the time to vote, Ant and Dec came to the stage, walked up to the judges and used their Golden Buzzer for 2019. Akshat was left in tears, as Ant and Dec walked up to him and the stage got filled with golden confetti. We are very proud of you, Akshat.
  13. On February 14, when most people were celebrating the day of love i.e. Valentine's Day with their respective partners, some families were weeping and mourning the death of their loved ones, who were in the Central Reserve Police Force. The nation has not forgotten their death and never will, and in order to salute their courage and bravery our Bollywood actors recently took out time to pay tribute to the martyrs. AP In memory of the bravehearts, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor recently paid a soulful tribute, called 'Tu Desh Mera'. The official Twitter account of CRPF posted their BTS pictures on social media and thanked them for their tribute. I mean, there has to be something seriously wrong with this day if people look for motivation to survive through the day. So much so that they make '#MondayMotivation' trend every week, every month and every year. Shah Rukh Khan was quick to reply to Bachchan's tweet and wrote, "Thanks baby. Got this. Now please motivate me to Work On Time too!!" We feel you SRK, the struggle is way too real. Thanks baby. 21. It takes more than mere skills to face the camera and enact a scene based on a narration and some lines peeking at you from between the white sheets of paper dabbed in black ink. It takes more than a few years of training at a film school, or the sweat and tears you expend backstage for every play that's presented in the theatres. There is a lot more that goes into the making of an actor. The talent and skills are but mere prerequisites in this line of work. So even before the cameras start rolling and the call to action is barked, it is an actor's struggles, continuous reinvention and unceasing passion for the craft that makes an actor, one who is worthy of spending our precious three hours over. © Instagram Irrfan Khan undoubtedly tops the list when it comes to actors who are worth every single 'paisa' of our money, and every minute of our time that we spend watching him spill his magic on-screen. Irrfan's journey in the Hindi film industry is a psychedelic, riveting montage of the many characters he portrayed to perfection throughout an acting career spans over 30 long years! From a meager role of a letter writer in Mira Nair's 'Salaam Bombay!' in 1988, to playing a jilted husband with a streak of wickedness about him Abhinay Deo's 'Blackmail' (2018), Irrfan's journey in Bollywood has almost all the shades of the colour (read acting) palette to his credit. © Instagram The big guns of the industry lost a bit of their sheen against the glory of this actor who persistently worked his way up the ladder. From often being a comic relief or kept at the sidelines as a prop to the larger storyline, he made his own path with titles such as 'Haasil', 'Maqbool', 'Life In A Metro' and 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' under his belt. However, it would be the 2012 release 'Paan Singh Tomar' that would finally bring Irrfan Khan his due in the Bollywood industry. Every actor and directed stopped and took notice of the actor who brought soldier-turned-bandit Paan Singh Tomar to life on the silver screen. © Instagram Soon enough people fell in love with this ruggedly handsome man, raw around the edges and bearing a sheepish smile, who was running his own race. The dark horse was finally here, and people simply couldn't get enough of the underdog making it to the “elite” category. 'The Lunchbox' was another massive win for the terrific actor, followed by marvels such as 'Qissa', 'Piku' 'Talvar', 'Madaari', 'Hindi Medium', and 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' that allowed us to witness and appreciate the actor who was changing the face of Hindi cinema one film at a time. © Instagram The wheels of fortune turned for Irrfan and this time it was not just Bollywood, but Hollywood too that wanted more of him on-screen. Hollywood had found the modern day actor for all things Indian. However, the roles Irrfan was being offered were not average, with limited screen presence like his predecessors. Irrfan bagged diverse, meaty roles in big Hollywood films such as 'The Warrior', 'Namesake', 'Jurassic World' 'Life of Pi' and 'The Inferno'. Now they say, with all the good comes a little of the bad, and the same came true for Irrfan. Last year in March, Irrfan announced that he had been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour and left for London soon after to undergo treatment for his condition. © Instagram All through his treatment the actor kept his fans and well-wishers updated about his condition and the progress he had made with the treatment. The past year was also the time when Irrfan had the time to introspect and come to terms with the bigger truth of life. Irrfan not only accepted the vulnerability of human life, but he was also vocal about the fact that at the end of the day we are nothing but human beings on this journey called life. © Instagram After a length of a long, arduous year, the 'Karwaan' actor officially announced that he is back in the game after kicking cancer to the curb - stronger than ever, and grateful for a second chance at life. He took to Twitter and shared that, “Maybe somewhere in the pursuit of winning, we forget how much it means to be loved. In our vulnerability, we are reminded. As I leave my footprints onto these steps of my life, I want to pause to be grateful for receiving your immense love and support, it soothed me in my process of healing. So I travel back to you, thanking you from the bottom of my heart.” © Instagram The picture that accompanied this post warmed our hearts, and we are equally thankful to get one of our best back. All of us are looking for his next film to hit the screens ASAP, and for now it seems there won't be a long wait. Irrfan's journey is proof that once a winner, always a winner.

As 'Notebook' hits the theatres today, it also marks the debut film of yesteryear actress Nutan's granddaughter and actor Mohnish Bahl's daughter Pranutan, as well as Salman's friend Iqbal's son, Zaheer. Talking about launching fresh faces in the industry, Salman told Bombay Times, “Shera's son Tiger is being groomed right now and he's already being considered by so many producers and directors. Shera feels I will be the best judge of a script for his son, so I am now sifting through scripts. I am yet to find something worthy.” View this post on Instagram I am there waiting, watching and keeping to the shadows. He admits that he will continue to launch newcomers in the industry for as long as he can because, “I was also launched at some point and I think the industry can do with some more fresh talent,” he said. © Pintrest Well, we can see where that motivation is coming from, and sure enough if these aspiring actors get the boost they need, and prove their mettle, they might actually add great flavour to the industry's growing young brigade. However, only their talent will prove their worth in the longer run. Let's see what is in store for Tiger.
