  1. Chadwick Boseman played the first black superhero to get his own standalone film in the record-breaking Marvel franchise with 2018´s "Black Panther."
  2. Amid this current state of quarantine, or self-isolation or lockdown that most of us are in, the one common issue that a lot of us are facing right now is, a clear shortage of 'me time'. Given that most of us live with our families, and now that we are all under one roof 24/7 thanks to Coronavirus, it can get a bit trying as this constant closeness can get on one's nerves. But, for the king of Thailand, that is the least of all problems as he is self-isolating in a luxury hotel in the Alpine resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. © Reuters King Maha Vajiralongkorn booked the entire Grand Hotel as soon as the four-star hotel was granted special permission from the district council to serve the king. Not only this, the 67-year-old kingâs party of people, who will be joining him during isolation, includes a harem of twenty concubines and servants. While all the other women will be living with him under the same roof, we are still unsure if his four wives are living in the same hotel as the rest of the group. © Reuters However, all the other guesthouses and hotels are shut due to the pandemic but the Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl was an exception as the guests are âa single, homogenous group of people with no fluctuation,â said a spokesperson of the local district council. However, around 119 people of his entourage have been sent back to Thailand under suspicion that they have come in contact with the virus. © Reuters It's not a surprise but the Thai people are not really happy with their Kingâs luxurious lifestyle during the self-isolation in Germany and many criticized him on social media for the same reasons. However, Thailand is still a Monarchy and according to the laws, anyone who criticizes the monarchy or insults it could face around 15 years of imprisonment. © Reuters Yes, shocking but true! In Thailand over 1400 cases of Coronavirus have been reported, so far, and across the globe, the cases are dismally increasing every day and the death toll keeps on soaring. View the full article

For all the fans who have been waiting to see Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen, the news of him making an appearance in Karan Joharâs upcoming movie, Brahmastra, will be nothing less than a welcome development. Earlier this year, Karan Johar had confirmed that SRK indeed has a special appearance in the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer. View this post on InstagramMark your calendars for #Brahmastra ð Releasing 04.12.2020A post shared by (@aliaabhatt) Now, a report in Pinkvilla has revealed that Khan will be playing a scientist in the movie. "Brahmastra is designed in such a way that each of these actors play a key role in the narrative. Ranbir's character meets each of them at different times of his quest to find the Brahmastra. While Nagarjuna plays an archaeologist, SRK essays the role of a scientist," a source told the entertainment portal. The source added, âNagarjuna, Shah Rukh and Dimple Kapadia are all aids to Ranbir's character at specific points in the plot and push the story ahead. All of them have clues leading Ranbir to the Brahmastra. The film opens with Shah Rukh's sequence. It's a long scene and SRK shot it over ten days at Film City earlier this year." 5. As controversial a figure that Honey Singh has been throughout his musical career, there is no denying the fact that for his fans, he truly is the Indian Rap God. His peppy beats and upbeat music (as well as his highly controversial lyrics) have indeed placed Indian Rap on the global stage, at least for the Indian diaspora. Basically, he went international, in a rather explosive way. © Instagram/yyhsofficial Naturally, like all international rappers who enjoy a massive fan following, Honey Singhâs style is all about bling and wearing stuff that is ridiculously proportioned and priced. Gold chains, golden watches, quirky and zany golden pendants, golden ear studs - you name it. © Instagram/yyhsofficial Turns out, the Punjabi rapper, who is slowly but steadily making his comeback is a huge fan of exquisite Swiss watches. There have been a number of times when he has been spotted some really exquisite Rolex and Tag Heuer pieces. However, it is one of his most recent purchases that actually caught our eye. © Viral Bhayani Honey Singh was recently spotted in Mumbai wearing a rather dope looking explorerâs watch, which was paired with a rather basic, but a quirky athleisure outfit. © Viral Bhayani Letâs get to the outfit first. Honey Singh was wearing a rather simple and basic white t-shirt from Adidas, which was paired with a pair of very loose-fitting joggers from Nike. The super-chunky sneakers, again, were a pair from Nike, the Nike Air Barrage Mid Tops. The sneakers actually are quite zany and are one of the chunkiest pairs that we have seen among major celebrity wear. © Nike Thanks to the super thick sole and the rather outlandish construction of the sneakers, specifically, the word âAirâ written on the side, the sneakers do stand out. At $180 or Rs 14,000, they arenât even that expensive, considering how often we have seen rappers and other celebrities wear pieces that retail for well over Rs 50,000. © Viral Bhayani Now, the piece de resistance, the watch that Honeyâs wearing. They are the Big Bang Unico Titanium Ceramic from the Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot. As simple as the watch looks, it is anything but simple. © Viral Bhayani The case, for example, is made of polished titanium and has a satin finish. The polished black ceramic bezel, along with titanium screws give it a very rugged appeal. The Matte Black Skeleton dial, with the exposed flyback movements and chronograph pieces, do make for an interesting and classic chronograph face. © Hublot A watch this exquisite, just like most of Honeyâs accessories surely isnât cheap. The watch is listed for 17,900 Swiss Franc or CHF. When converted at the current exchange rate, it stands at a figure just under Rs 14 Lakhs. Add to that your regular import duties and customs, and you end up with a figure thatâs well over Rs 18 Lakhs. © Viral Bhayani It indeed is one pricey way of accessorising your outfit. Indeed, it seems Honey Singh, is the king of bling. View the full article
  6. Ayushmann Khurrana and his fashion choices have been on a roll. His style used to be underrated but ever since 2018, this man has been unstoppable and without a shadow of a doubt, he never fails to strike a chord with us. © Instagram/Isha Bhansali Let's take a few examples where he stunned us with his choices. The recent look that we took notes from was when he took the chunky sneaker trend to a whole new level with his 'crocodile's sneakers. His outfit, on the other hand, was a palette of subtle hues that instantly dovetailed well with his overall demeanour.Ayushmann has been prepping for his upcoming movie Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. The promotions are in full swing and it looks like he is truly invested in his style and we cannot stop diggin' his looks. Isha Bhansali, Ayushmann's stylist definitely deserves an award for creating some statement-worthy, edgy outfits, no matter what the event is. Even the recent instance totally steers clear of the basics and is something that most of us can legit learn a lesson or two from. If you are willing to recreate this outfit in simple steps, here's a quick way to turn heads with these impeccable style lessons. Instagram/Isha Bhansali 1. Let's start with Ayusmann's jacket. Parka jackets are a thing now and if the boredom of wearing denim numbers has hit you hard, this is the new way to go. When you top it over a slogan tee, this style can add a modern twist to your debonair with its unexpected fabric and quirky colour. 2. Coming to his pants, they are yet again an unusual pair of jeans. They are not too tapered nor too baggy. The overall effect? Well, it's surprisingly quite pleasing. This type of jeans are a mainstay in menswear and to make it double-dekko worthy, add a finishing touch with a stylish buckle belt. © Instagram/Isha Bhansali 3. If you are a big fan of chunky sneakers, like Ayushmann, just show off! The best way to add a bit of elegance is to roll up your jeans so that your shoes are able to channel uber-cool, effortless vibes. Add to that, quirky socks can make you stand out for all the right reasons. 4. The final touch up is accessories that should never ever be missed. Sartorially speaking, a watch and sunglasses are the key here that revolutionise the whole look, giving it more of a street-style and contemporary appeal. This is the best way to master the art of street fashion and we believe, only Ayushmann can do it right. Hats off for that! View the full article
  7. The world may not think much of Abhishek Bachchan the actor, but nobody can challenge the fact that AB Jr has delivered some really good performances over the course of his Bollywood journey, so far. For many of his admirers, one such memorable performance of the actor was in Guru and undeniably, it is perhaps one of his best performances on the silver screen. For anybody who has watched the movie, it would surely be difficult to imagine somebody else portray the role of Gurukant Desai than Abhishek. © Madras Talkies His powerful and more-than-convincing performance in the film won him much-deserved acclaim, and with the recently-shared first look of Abhishek's next film The Big Bull coming out, we have an inkling that it wouldn't be wrong to expect a Guru-like reboot from this film inspired by one of India's most infamous scammers and broker Harshad Mehta. Now, let us tell you why. Right from the very subject of The Big Bull, to the genre that the film is set to deal with, it's pretty much in keeping with a Bildungsroman, or simply put, a narrative that traces the rise of a protagonist. © Quora That brings us to the most important part of this article. Who da fcuk is Harshad Mehta. Who Is Harshad Mehta On the surface level, suffice it to say that Harshad Mehta was the brightest stockbroker India had seen in the 80s, who fell from grace at the end of the 20th century after having acquired a colossal wealth and fame through his trading secrets. Until one fine day, Harshad “Big Bull” Mehta turned into India's 'king of scams' who was served with 27 criminal charges against him. Before his sudden death, while in police custody due to a heart ailment in 2001, Harshad was convicted in four of the twenty-seven criminal charges against him. The (In)Famous 1992 Security Scam © Twitter It was journalist Sucheta Dala who exposed Mehta and his accomplices' scam in 1992 through an article that was published in The Times of India. In her own words, this is what Mehta had been doing to hike up stock prices and make truckloads of money by fooling small-scale banks and stock buyers. © Twitter “The crucial mechanism through which the scam was effected was the ready forward (RF) deal. The RF is in essence a secured short-term (typically 15-day) loan from one bank to another. Crudely put, the bank lends against government securities just as a pawnbroker lends against jewellery. The borrowing bank actually sells the securities to the lending bank and buys them back at the end of the period of the loan, typically at a slightly higher price. It was this ready forward deal that Mehta and his accomplices used with great success to channel money from the banking system.” The Perfect 'Bollywood' Subject © Twitter Before the exposé, Harshad channelled the perfect 'Pied Piper' of the Indian stock market, who succeeded in fuelling the greed and aspiration of millions of middle-class Indian in the 90s. His rise made for the perfect 'rags to riches' story that people are eager to grab a bite of - a small-town boy who turned into the “Sultan of Dalal Street” until he was overthrown. With Abhishek on the forefront of The Big Bull, we are hoping to witness the journey of Hashad Mehta the way we saw Gurukant Desai's. View the full article
  8. We desi people are so used to seeing the 'babu or VIP culture' here that we have started assuming that it's an unsaid norm and the global leaders too are following the same culture. But, not everyone follows the same culture and there are some who set an example for the world to follow soon after. Not everyone makes other people open doors for them, just because they're famous. And not everyone makes other people pick their luggage just because they are royalty. We're talking about the Swedish royal couple King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, who are currently on their five-day visit to India. Now, you might expect the royal couple to come in their private aircraft from Stockholm, but they chose an Air India commercial flight instead and carried their own bags after landing at the airport. © Reuters The official Twitter account of Air India tweeted about them travelling in Air India and wrote, "Very Proud moment for Air India when we had a Special Guest onboard. They may have just arrived in India, but they've already won hearts with their humility. Inspiring to see a king travel by a commercial service and that too of another country's airline. 9. Karan Johar has proven time and again that he deserves an award for his eccentric style. Sure, there are other B-town celebs like Ranveer Singh and Diljit Dosanjh who also have unbeatable sartorial sensibilities but Karan has always knocked it off the park and showed us that he is the king of eclectic styles. If you are expecting him to stand out wearing basic outfits, well, we think that's never going to happen. He is someone who can wear heels to an award function and super edgy sneakers on red carpets. © Viral Bhayani Recently, he was spotted at his fashionable best. Everything in his outfit looked put together tastefully but if there's one thing that definitely made a head-turning statement, it has to be his sneakers. If you look closely, you will notice that this pair definitely has a futuristic vibe to it. © Viral Bhayani © Dolce & Gabbana The self-proclaimed maximalist, KJo, was seen wearing Dolce & Gabanna Super King Sneakers. These black and silvertone sneakers feature a round toe with lace-up front fastening. The tongue is embossed with the brand name and has a rear logo patch. The modern aesthetics of these sneakers sure speak a lot of his personality and definitely are a super edgy pair that we have seen in a while. © Dolce & Gabbana We love the futuristic vibe they have but when it comes to how much it retails in India, it will set you back. They are worth Rs. 74,000 but since it's KJo wearing them, we can expect them to look extreme. © Viral Bhayani Even his outfit had an outlandish appearance as he was seen wearing a flamboyant hoodie and coupled it with black joggers. His sneakers added some gaudy flare we would say! We must admit, KJo your flamboyance is spot on! View the full article
  10. When it comes to budget smartphones, users want good performance, an attractive price and a premium design. At least that was the case a year ago, but now even budget smartphones are pushing the envelope by offering good cameras, fast charging and more storage. Xiaomi has now announced the launch of the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 in India that offers everything we just mentioned and then some. The two smartphones in the Redmi Note series come with a quad-camera setup, awesome design and the most important thing; an attractive price tag. We got to check out the smartphones for a brief period of time and here are our super early impressions of the two: Design © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla When it comes to an upgrade from the Redmi Note 7 and 7 Pro, Xiaomi has upgraded every specification and aspect of the smartphone - the major update being the quad-camera setup. Both smartphones get the premium treatment when it comes to the design. The Redmi Note 8 comes in four colours i.e. Neptune Blue, Space Black, Cosmic Purple and Moonlight White, where the white variant is probably our favourite. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla The white variant has a gradient finish with a slight blue undertone that makes it stand out from the rest. Similarly, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes in Halo White, Gamma Green, and Shadow Black colour options, however, the 'Gamma Green' variant is the one you want to look out for. Both smartphones come with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating, both at the front and back, giving it the premium feel similar to flagship smartphones. When it comes to biometrics security, both smartphones have a traditional fingerprint sensor at the back and face-unlocking capabilities. Display© MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Both the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 come with IPS LCD displays while the only difference is the screen size. The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a larger 6.53-inch screen while the Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.39-inch display. Both smartphones have a drop-style notch and a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels (19.5:9 aspect ratio). Another major difference is the 3D curved display on the Note 8 Pro. Cameras © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla While both smartphones have a quad-camera setup, there are stark differences between the two that set them apart from each other. The Redmi Note 8 Pro variant comes with a 64MP primary sensor while the Redmi Note 8 comes with a 48MP primary sensor. The main difference will be in the resolution of the images. The primary sensor is the only differentiating factor between the two smartphones as the other three sensors remain the same on both models. The additional sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a field of view of 120-degrees. The third sensors is a 2MP, f/2.4 macro lens while the last sensor is a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. When it comes to video, the smartphones can capture video at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps While the camera specifications look very impressive on paper, we did not get enough time with the smartphone to draw conclusions. We will be testing out the cameras soon to know how they perform in each mode. Processor and Battery Specifications Again, it is hard to know about long-term performance since we have not spent enough time with the two devices. The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with MediaTek's new chipset Helio G90T that also has a huge focus on gaming performance. The Redmi Note 8 Pro also comes with liquid cooling in order to prevent any kind of throttling while gaming. Being a new processor, it is hard to draw conclusions about its performance. From what we know, the processor is good enough to come close to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, but we can't be sure until we use it for a longer period. The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with 6GB of RAM to 8GB of RAM depending on the storage option you pick. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 8 is powered by Qualcomm's mid-range processor i.e. the Snapdragon 665 SoC. We've seen this processor in action before on the Mi A3 and we can expect a similar sort of performance. The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes from 4GB of RAM to 6GB of RAM depending on the model. In terms of battery capacity, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 4,500mAh unit, while the Redmi Note 8 comes with a slightly smaller 4,000mAh battery. Both smartphones now come with a USB-C port and support 18W fast charging which has been a much-asked-for feature for the Note series. Conclusion The Redmi Note smartphones are the marquee devices of Xiaomi in India and from our initial impressions, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is a worthy successor. In our initial impressions, the Redmi Note 8 Pro performs well, has all the right upgrades and is also very affordable. Stay tuned for our full review to know more about the phone and how it performs in real-life situations.
  11. Anything and everything that can be said about 'Game of Thrones' Season eight has been said. Yes, it sucked but everyone has to agree that the scene with Arya Stark killing the Night King was so badass and iconic. It was one of the best scenes of the show, actually even the entire season. Now, we know that great things always act as a source of inspiration but this time, it may have gone too far. Turns out that an Indian show - 'Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga' - has the same exact scene, literally down to every single detail. This scene looks familiar doesn't it? But the scene from the Indian series Aladdin was aired last year. https://t.co/NgsVEwjRde#GameOfThrones copied this. That's how lazy it was pic.twitter.com/wtvdaumOwH — Radhakrishna Sharma (@MatKarma) June 15, 2019 Imitation may not be the best form of flattery after all. While this narrative - Indian show blatantly copying the biggest show in the entire world - might be expected, turns out that there's a possibility of the exact opposite thing being true. Basically, there's a chance that 'GoT' copied 'Aladdin'. Yep, these are some strange times. Some people are saying the episode aired last year, and some are saying that it aired after the GoT episode, the rest are just laughing at the hilariously weird - and low quality - recreation of the 'GoT' scene. India did it before it was cool. from r/india The Reddit user that brought the scene to light captioned it saying, 'India did it before it was cool', but did India do it first? And even if it did, I'm pretty sure the makers of 'GoT' are not looking for inspiration from an Indian TV show that even we didn't know about until now. Oh, we're also not done with the whole copycat game. Here's a scene from the movie 'Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter'. The movie came out in 2012, just btw. The title tho. Gareebo ka Arya Stark, Copied Scene from Game of Thrones... https://t.co/xtjnSefY4g — Gaurav Mukherjee (@garvsays) June 17, 2019 The best part is instead of arguing about who copied whom, people on Reddit have just come together to find the logic behind how someone can kill a skeleton by stabbing it. What overthinking looks like.
  12. Xiaomi has established itself as the company that offers smartphones that are considered to be the best option for people who're looking to buy an Android phone on a budget. The company is currently selling as many as 7 smartphones in India that are priced under Rs.10,000. And you know what? They seem to be getting better with each product over time. Take the newly launched Redmi 7, for instance. Honestly, it's one of the most beautiful-looking budget phones that I've seen till date. Not just that, it appears as though Xiaomi has learned a thing or two from the not-so-impressive Redmi 6 from last year. So, has Xiaomi managed to get everything right and make a desirable Redmi phone after all this time? Well, I've spent a little over a week testing the Redmi 7, and here's what I think - Design & Display © MensXP/Karthik Iyer The Redmi 7, as I said before, is one of the most beautiful budget phones that I've ever seen. The gradient finish, especially this Nebula Red variant which Xiaomi sent us for review, is an absolute head-turner. I haven't had a chance to check out the other color variants, but I am sure they look just as good as this one does. In order to cut down the cost though, Xiaomi has used plastic for the back instead of glass. It's more prone to fingerprints and feels a little cheap while holding it in the hand. It's not exactly a deal breaker, but it's hard not to point out especially when you can get the Redmi Note 7 with an all glass-design for just an additional Rs. 1,000. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer Look past the plastic body, you'll certainly find a lot to like about the Redmi 7 design. The curved back design of the phone nicely blends into the matte black frame of the body and makes it really easy to hold. It's not particularly a slim handset, but I kinda like the chunky build, as it gives me more confidence to hold it in my hands instead of sliding it in my pockets. At the back, the phone has dual cameras, a fingerprint scanner, and the Redmi branding. I'll talk more about the cameras later, but let me say that the fingerprint scanner is at a convenient spot and it works great. The phone also has face unlock, but I prefer using the physical scanner whenever there's an option. The Redmi 7 has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro USB port at the bottom along with the speaker grills. I would've loved to see a USB Type-C port, but hey, it's a budget phone, so I am not really complaining. The volume rockers and the power button on the right are nice and clicky, and there's also a notification LED at the bottom on the chin. On the front, the Redmi 7 looks, well, just like any other Redmi phone. It's got a 6.26-inch IPS LCD display with a water drop notch and sizeable bezels, so there's nothing new here, really. It's an HD+ display which gets adequately bright and shows nice colors. The viewing angles are also great, and I really enjoyed watching movies and playing games on this display. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer Overall, I'd say the Redmi 7 is a gorgeous phone with one of the displays money can buy in this price range. Performance & Software To take care of the performance, the Redmi 7 is powered by a Snapdragon 632 SoC coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Yes, you can't go more than the 32GB internal storage, but there's an option to expand it via a microSD card. Oh, there's also Adreno 506 GPU onboard for graphics. As for the battery, the Redmi 7 packs a 4,000 mAh cell, which is a significant upgrade from the 3,000 mAh battery found inside last year's Redmi 6. © MensXP Well, I tested the 3GB + 32GB variant of the Redmi 7, and I had a great time using the phone. I must say that the Snapdragon 632 is a snappy performer, as it showed no signs of slowing down or had any trouble hopping between apps during my testing. MIUI 10 being a bit heavy skin, I did notice occasional stutters, but nothing that would hinder day-to-day usability. As for the gaming performance, well let's just say that it's not a heavy hitter when it comes to that. Yes, it can run titles like PUBG Mobile, but my experience was a bit unsatisfactory even on the lowest graphics settings. So if you were hoping the Redmi 7 would be a gaming powerhouse, then you'll be in for a disappointment. You can run other casual games without worrying about any performance issues though. © MensXP The Redmi 7 runs Android Pie and it comes with all the bells and whistles of MIUI 10. There are a ton of features to play around and customize the phone with. There's an option to turn on the navigation gestures, hide the notch, and all that good stuff. And since it's MIUI that we're talking about here, so you'll also have to go through the pain of disabling ads. Seriously, just that for your own sake because there are ads literally everywhere. They're on the lock screen, notification shade, app installation page, and who knows where else. © MensXP Camera The Redmi 7 sports a combination of a 12MP primary shooter with a 2MP depth sensor to form a dual camera setup. I, honestly, wasn't expecting the camera performance to be all that impressive, but I must say that I underestimated this phone. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer The images taken during the day time with ample lighting, as you can see, are all nice and detailed. One can choose to turn off the AI enhancements to get natural-looking images, however, I found myself using it to get images that are social media ready. I mean, seriously. Who has the time to capture images and edit them before updating your stories, right? The low-light performance of the camera was also great, and I was truly impressed by the Redmi 7's camera. Yes, it's not going to fetch you DSLR-like image with sharp details and stunning quality, but hey, it's a budget phone that cost under Rs. 10,000, and it's adequately good. Here, check out the camera samples and gauge the performance yourself - Battery Life As I had mentioned earlier in this review, the Redmi 7 has a 4,000 mAh battery, which is higher than that of the Redmi 6. And how's the battery life? Well during my testing, the phone easily lasted over a full day of usage. In fact, if you're not a heavy hitter, I think you can easily get two full days of usage out of this phone. The standby drain of the battery at night is minimal, and that's where it excels. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer Xiaomi is bundling the phone with a 5V 2A or 10W charger inside the box. With the included charger, I managed to charge the Redmi 7 from 0 to 100-percent in around two and a half hours, which is not really that bad. The Final Say In a way, Xiaomi started the wave of affordable smartphones several years back with the Redmi series, and it's safe to say that the Redmi 7 continues that trend. Granted it's not the fastest phone out there on the market and it lacks some features like a USB Type-C port, a headphone jack, etc., but it's a stunning looking phone that's incredibly cheap and performs day-to-day tasks well. And yes, we suggest you buy the variant with 3GB RAM over the other. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer It is, however, worth pointing out that you can choose to shell out an additional Rs. 1,000 and buy the Redmi Note 7. With that phone, you'll get things like an all-glass design, a slightly more powerful Snapdragon 660 processor, a better display, and more. But hey, if you're on a tight budget and you can't spend that extra Rs. 1,000, then the Redmi 7 is the phone to own. It's still great for what it offers and more than enough for a casual user.
  13. AirPods is now more of a cultural phenomenon than any other product from Apple's portfolio. It was Apple's solution for removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and since then, it has taken the world with storm. Apple has now offered a new version of the AirPods that offers a lot of features which it already did along with a few incremental upgrades. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla The new AirPods offer more talk time and have a new H1 Chip that enables quicker Siri access. It comes with a wireless charging case that can be charged using any Qi-wireless charger. The new updates may not be enough of a reason to upgrade if you already own AirPods, but the new iteration still holds the throne of wireless earbuds. Setting It Up Is Easy And Flawless © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla The one feature I love the most on the AirPods is the easy setup process that nobody has been able to match up to so far. Each time you open the case, the AirPods automatically connect to your iPhone. Being an integral part of Apple's ecosystem, the AirPods also automatically pair with other Apple devices, thanks to iCloud. You can easily switch between devices without the need of setting it up for each said device. It works with the iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and even Android smartphones (without the support of easy setup). When pairing the AirPods with other Apple devices, you don't need to press a button or wait for it to be discovered. It just connects and works. So, What's The Difference? © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Visually, not much has changed on the new AirPods apart from the new wireless charging case. It now has an LED light on the front instead of inside the case. The case can be charged via a lightning cable or wirelessly using a Qi charging pad. The case has the same amount of battery reserve as the previous case i.e. it offers up to 24 hours of total battery life. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Like before, if you take one of the earbuds, the auto-pause feature kicks in, however, it only works with Apple devices. As for usability, the new AirPods offer the same controls as the previous generation where you can assign actions like double tap to skip a track on any of the earbuds. You can play/pause with a single tap and also fire up Siri by saying “Hey Siri.” Instead of giving volume controls on the AirPods, you can now ask Siri to turn down/up the volume. You simply have to say “Hey Siri, turn it down” and Siri will do the rest for you. We prefer this feature over manual controls as it prevents accidental touches which in turn would either pause the music or skip the track. What Does The H1 Chip Do? © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Apple H1 chip is one of the upgrades on the new AirPods that enable users to bring up Siri. The new chip can do a lot more such as extend the call time by 50 per cent. The chip also enables lower gaming lag and offers a faster connection for phone calls. The chip also improves call quality, especially in windy conditions. The H1 chip is capable of eliminated distortion caused by winds which makes your voice clearer. We tried this feature on a few phone calls sitting right under a speedy fan and no one heard any breeze on the other end of the call. Sound Quality © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Even though Apple says that there is no difference in sound quality, we felt that the sound on the new AirPods was much crisper. Maybe our previous AirPods began to age and we noticed the stark difference in sound quality, however, it's still among the best hearing wireless earbuds. Of course, there is some sound leakage simply because of the design of the earbuds. We would have preferred a better fit on the new AirPods which in turn would also prevent sound leakage. In terms of sound, the new AirPods have warmer undertones with a slight emphasis on bass. AirPods are best used for listening to track with vocals as the midrange and treble are clean and balanced. The overall sound does lack definition, however, that's due to the sound leakage we mentioned before. The overall sound may not please audiophiles, but the AirPods 2 is a matter of convenience over performance. For better sounding earbuds, we would recommend you something from Senheisser but it lacks all the bells and whistles such as good battery life, ease of connectivity and accessibility. The Final Say If you're already deeply embedded in the Apple Ecosystem, the new AirPods are your best bet at convenient audio. It offers old and new tech for Rs 18,900 and will be available to buy in India soon. The new AirPods, in our opinion, is still the king of wireless earbuds as it offers balanced features such as good battery life, respectable performance and decent sound. The competition may be getting harder but it's still hard to beat the AirPod's convenience and accessibility. The Galaxy Buds are a strong contender for the new AirPods and we will compare them soon to let you know which one is better.
  14. When it comes to royal Indian fashion, the first name that comes to our mind is that of Padmanabh Singh, the Maharaja of Jaipur. Also known as 'Pacho', the 20-year-old King has been making quite an impact in the international fashion arena. Right from setting the ramps of Milan on fire, to being the fiercest royal fashionista, he is the epitome of royal elegance. He recently posted pictures of the Holika Dahan that took place at the City Palace, Jaipur, and he looks straight out of an opulent Bhansali flick in them. Take a look. © Instagram/Pachojaipur © Instagram/Pachojaipur We are in love with the ivory sherwani paired with the silk white churidar, along with the royal safa accentuated with a red Bandhani dupatta. Also, the golden buttons and brooch, along with the bejewelled purple sword-sheath, are perfection. © Instagram/Pachojaipur © Instagram/Pachojaipur His outfit, honestly, is a reflection of the inimitable grandeur that the Indian royalty is all about. The splendour of the palace, in all its sheer luxuriousness, is perfectly mirrored in the way the Maharaja has clothed himself. © Instagram/Pachojaipur © Instagram/Pachojaipur The huge fire of Holika Dahan, along with the royal fireworks, is a reminder of the glory that pervaded all throughout India once upon a time. © Instagram/Pachojaipur © Instagram/Pachojaipur © Instagram/Pachojaipur © Instagram/Pachojaipur All we can say is, nothing can match the magnificence of these rituals, and the clothing that were a part and parcel of the proceedings.
  15. If you ever wished for Monday to be eliminated from the calendar altogether, trust me you're not alone. There's some air around this day that makes everyone hate it. I mean, there has to be something seriously wrong with this day if people look for motivation to survive through the day. So much so that they make '#MondayMotivation' trend every week, every month and every year. Talking about the hashtag 'Monday Motivation', one honorary contribution was made today by Abhishek Bachchan. The actor took to social media to share this inspiring quote with Floyd Mayweather's picture in the background. The quote read, "To be the best you have to work overtime." #MondayMotivation pic.twitter.com/omFsCjfGfY — Abhishek Bachchan (@juniorbachchan) April 8, 2019 If only reading these inspiring quotes made us half as productive as our bosses expect us to be, things will be so much more convenient and better for us. And looks like we are not alone in thinking this way. Bollywood's King Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan too feels the same way, at least his tweet does. Shah Rukh Khan was quick to reply to Bachchan's tweet and wrote, "Thanks baby. Got this. Now please motivate me to Work On Time too!!" We feel you SRK, the struggle is way too real. Thanks baby. Got this. Now please motivate me to Work On Time too!! https://t.co/9qejCH9tIx — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) April 8, 2019 Everytime we find something interesting on the internet, the first thing you do is tag our work BFF and then wait for them to comment and react to it. Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan's twitter interaction too looks like what we have with our work BFFs everyday.
  16. Jim Sarbh is the king of quirk, and no, we're not referring only to his choice of roles. When it comes to matters of style and fashion, the man is as non-mainstream as his roles are. Right from rocking gender-fluid ensembles to wearing clothes that manage to steal the collective thunder of the entire Bollywood. His latest avatar, however, is something we have never seen before. Take a look. © Instagram/Jimsarbhforreal © Instagram/Jimsarbhforreal Jim is legit looking like an edgy Indian king, wearing statement sherwanis by Shantanu & Nikhil. The impeccably stitched pieces spell elegance and royalty like nothing else, and we're obsessed with the innovative layering game. © Instagram/Jimsarbhforreal What stands out is the subtlety of the ensembles, in terms of the colour palette. The fact that they can look super conspicuous in spite of that, in terms of sheer design elements, is noteworthy. © Instagram/Jimsarbhforreal © Instagram/Jimsarbhforreal Modern Indian grooms can definitely take a leaf out of Jim's book when it comes to standing apart, as opposed to opting for the same old tried and tested outfits. The draping in some of the outfits are so unusual, that they are effortlessly ramp-ready. © Instagram/Jimsarbhforreal © Instagram/Jimsarbhforreal All we can say is, Jim's style game surely does look like it was 'made in heaven'. 17. Winter is finally coming knocking on every 'GOT' fan's door ever since the first trailer dropped and left us gasping for more. From the conniving smile of Cersei, a running Arya Stark thirsty for some revenge to Khaleesi and Jon Snow's fate, the tiny teaser dropped a hint of everything yet revealed nothing! The 'GOT' makers have now released an in-depth prosthetics video which gives you a peek into how the outer mould for many characters are built, including the mighty Night King. A video was released earlier which showed a little as to how the actor gets ready for the role, but this one here, is for the nerds. The war scenes, the images of the deceased or the injured, literally everything takes months of planning for the team who ensures that the authenticity of the characters and the show is strictly maintained. The average prosthetic makeup takes 6-8 weeks to build and over hours to put on the actors later. © HBO The mightily feared Night King is portrayed by actor Vladimir Furdik who bears the entire pain of putting on all that makeup and acting with it. Well, we can not only respect the actor more after watching this video but also give him a round of applause for his unbelievable patience.
  18. When it comes to budget smartphones and the Indian market, Xiaomi has managed to build a brand name that delivers smartphones with aggressive pricing. It's not only the pricing that matters, but smartphones also need to work and need to work well. Redmi, now a sub-brand of Xiaomi has managed to do just that, deliver great smartphones with an attractive price. However, Xiaomi steps up the game with the Redmi Note 7 Pro with upgraded specifications and a camera that can challenge even some of the top-tier smartphones. Xiaomi has also upgraded the design with captivating colours for users who prefer to be trendy and fashionable. It retails in India for Rs 13,990 and comes in different configurations. It has a 48-megapixel primary camera paired with a 5-megapixel sensor for portrait shots at the rear and a 13-megapixel sensor selfie shooter. We've been using the smartphone for a while to find out whether it's still the king of budget smartphones. Here's our review of the Redmi Note 7 Pro: Design And Display Xiaomi has completely overhauled the Redmi Note series with a beautiful gradient design that catches the light. It's something similar to what we've seen on other smartphones. However, the Redmi Note 7 Pro stands out from the crowd thanks to its bold colours. What's cool about the design is that the smartphone has an all-glass design both at the front and the back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This makes the smartphone a tad bit heavier than the previous iterations; however, we like the solid feel to the smartphone. We particularly like the Nebula Red colour which we got to see at the launch event. At the front, Xiaomi as a dewdrop notch display that removes the additional bezels you may have seen in previous models. The design of the smartphone feels very premium and very similar to what you would find on the iPhone XR. It feels solid and does not feel like a budget smartphone from any angle. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Xiaomi also retains the headphone jack which is always a plus in our books and has now added Type-C support. We can finally transfer files faster and charge a Redmi smartphone quicker than ever before. In addition, the Redmi Note 7 Pro also has a p2i nano-coating which protects the smartphone from accidental spills. It's not water-resistant, but it will protect your smartphone from water spills in your bathroom. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla When it comes to the display, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ LTPS LCD display with a resolution 1080x2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. For a smartphone that costs less than Rs 15,000, the display is quite sharp and accurate for an LCD. Sure, it's not the best you find as compared to flagship level smartphones but it does a fair job at colour reproduction and brightness. The colours on the display do not look oversaturated and look close to real-life. The brightness is also solid as it comes in handy when viewing it directly under sunlight. It has a brightness level of 477 nits which is quite impressive for an LCD panel. Camera © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Redmi Note 7 Pro's star attraction is its 48 MP rear Sony IMX 586 sensor that delivers some of the most amazing pictures we've seen on a budget smartphone. We've seen this sensor on the Honor View 20 before and it manages to deliver some great details and clarity in images. It captures the right colours and delivers some of the most beautiful pictures in HDR mode. In fact, sometimes we couldn't believe we shot these images with a budget smartphone. Most of these pictures were shown in 21MP however you can always take the full 48MP images by toggling the feature in the settings. Budget smartphones tend to struggle in low-light photography however Xiaomi has introduced its new Night Mode in MIUI 10. The new model does manage to take brighter images in low light which the budget smartphone was unable to do previously. The dynamic range also plays a crucial role in delivering these shots. It works very similar to Google's Night Shot as it combines different a series of images taken in different contrast levels to give you a better low-light image. Overall, we were quite pleased with the camera performance and even raises the question for the need of flagship level smartphones. Sure, flagship smartphones have great cameras but the gap is being closed quite rapidly thanks to smartphones like Redmi Note 7 Pro. Gallery View this post on Instagram Pictures shot using the #redminote7pro. Loving the night mode and it's quite decent from a phone that doesn't break the bank. #xiaomi #smartphones #gadgets #techie #technology #tech A post shared by Akshay Bhalla (@editorinchief) on Mar 10, 2019 at 11:44pm PDT Software Performance The Redmi Note 7 Pro ships with MIUI 10 and we would like to address the elephant in the room. MIUI 10 does have advertisements and if you wish to disable them you can do it by following these steps. Having said that, these advertisements are a bit annoying especially when you install a new application. Xiaomi has a security app that scans newly installed applications that have advertisements embedded within it. You can easily turn off the feature however it is a bit jarring when you kept getting bombarded with advertisements. If you want a seamless, experience, we suggested you follow the steps above. If you look beyond the ads, MIUI 10 looks quite clean and visually appealing with satisfying animations and overall stability. You have usual functions like dual apps and a new gesture navigation system that is easy to use. It's quite similar to what we've seen on the new iPhones but with slightly different animation and multi-tasking layout. Performance Equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 675 chipset, the Redmi Note 7 Pro delivers a great overall experience when it comes to performing tasks daily usage. While it works great with less CPU intensive apps, it lacks in processing graphics for fluid gaming. On PUBG mobile, the smartphone would often have massive frame rate drops in high settings and has the rubber-banding effect too. We would recommend you play GPU intensive games with lower settings. Furthermore, the Redmi Note 7 Pro does heat up a bit when playing games which were expected as it does not have a dedicated cooling system like the POCO F1. Regardless, the smartphone is good enough for casual games like Temple Run and can handle games like Asphalt 9 in medium setting. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla In terms of Geekbench scores, the Redmi Note 7 Pro scored 6520 in the multi-core test while it scored 2380 in the single core test. In our opinion, that's quite a respectable score for a smartphone that costs only Rs 13,990. The Redmi Note 4 Pro comes with 4,000 mAh battery which has remained unchanged from previous models. Battery life on the Redmi Note 7 Pro is exceptional with moderate usage as we had almost 6.5 hours of screen-on-time. We tested the smartphone with navigation, gaming and communication. In addition, it also supports QC4 however you need to buy a compatible charger separately. The Redmi Note 7 Pro was able to last almost two days on a single charge which is quite impressive for any smartphone. The Final Say If you are looking for a smartphone that can take awesome pictures, last 2 days on a single charge and can delivery awesome battery life, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is your best bet. The new smartphone has stepped up its game in the photography department and can perform well with moderate usage. Starting at Rs 13,9990 the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the king of budget smartphones right now.

It has been well received for its finely scripted plot and rich performances.
  20. Post-Apocalyptic shooter games are now becoming a common theme in games that have caused fatigue amongst seasoned players. However, whenever a new Metro game is set to release, we all seem to set that fatigue aside as the franchise has a fresh outlook towards the theme. Metro Exodus exudes that feeling as it's probably the only game that leaves a fearsomely oppressive feeling right off the bat. © MensXP You continue the story in the franchise with Artyom, set in the dark gritty world of post-apocalyptic Russia. You're in the dark underbelly of Moscow's metro system where you will encounter scary ghouls and in always in mortal danger from mutated beasts. 4A games left no stone unturned to give you the true feeling of fear as you will be battered right from the beginning of the game. You will encounter monsters in the dark and often find yourself stuck in sticky situations that don't work in your favour. You will either have a weapon that needs cleaning or your mask is about to break that needs repairing. It's not only the monsters that strike fear in you, but it's also every bit of the game such as mechanics and limited resources that add to the fear. Metro as a franchise was always set in the gritty underground world of tunnels and sewers where you would only get a glimpse of destroyed Moscow in cut-scenes and specific missions. However this time in Metro Exodus, 4A games takes you out of the world of gritty tunnels and puts you in a heavily-armoured train called the Aurora. You and a group of survivors venture out of Moscow to find survivors and link up with Command to find out what is going on. © 4A Games In the franchise, Moscow's tunnel dwelling survivors believed that they were the only ones that manage to live. However, as you play Metro Exodus, you learn early on that there are survivors elsewhere. This also translated to you taking the Aurora through semi open-world environments where you will struggle to find resources to fix the train throughout your journey to 'Command'. Don't mistake this for an open-world game as Metro Exodus still exudes the elation of skin-of-the-teeth survival and oppressive gameplay even when you are in the open. 4A games is known for making games that are terrifying and Metro Exodus is exactly what you want to see from this studio. It has linear sequences that are filled with scary encounters and the sandbox environments word is filled with outposts, tunnels and buildings where you need to scavenge resources. Whether you like it or not, you will be forced to visit these locations if you want to upgrade your weapons or need ammo. It's these locations where you will experience some of the most terrifying moments in the game. To compliment all the game mechanics, 4A has created some of the most beautiful environments with fine attention to detail. Having said that, the game was a little buggy in some areas (at least on PC) which sometimes hindered your overall experience. Since you visit different locations thanks to Aurora, the game keeps things interesting as you visit different locations in rural Russia. The survival mechanics is probably our favourite feature in the game that adds to your panic when you're trying to defend yourself. Gunplay seems realistic as well since you are using scrappy guns that you have crafted with different components found in the world. These guns are not your run-of-the-mill weapons that don't have a kick to it. This particularly adds even more panic when skirmishing with ghouls, human enemies and beasts. © 4A Games Crafting works very similar to what you may have experienced in 'The Last of Us', each time you must crouch, open your bag with resources and craft whatever you need to complete your mission. You can craft medkits, weapons or pump up weapons since everything in Metro is quite analogue and nothing has advanced in terms of technology. Having said that, it's the best implementation of survival crafting we've seen since TLOU. If you're looking for a game that offers stealth and survival, Metro Exodus marries the two concepts perfectly. Metro Exodus has its own caveats with some bugs and some extremely long sequences where your character does nothing but stand, it's still one of the most exceptional experiences we've had in a very long time. The characters in the world are exceptional with great voice acting and a world that looks beautiful on RTX graphic cards. With deep and complex levels and incredibly scary monsters, Metro Exodus is the only post Apocalyptic game you need to play this year.
  21. Winter might still be looming on our heads but the winter we all are waiting for is coming in April when the final season of 'Game Of Thrones' hits us with God knows what! The new pictures that were recently released gave away very little, just like the teaser which actually just teased us only a tab bit. Now as per Redditors, there's a new crazy theory around the birth and fate of Cersei's unborn child. According this theory, she might give her child to the Night King and in return become the only immortal in Westeros and rule like the queen that she is. While many theories about the Night King and even Jon Snow have been floating around, this one claims that with her love Jamie now gone, it is possible that he is killed in the big war and when the news arrives, she'll sacrifice her child to save her own soul. © HBO Some theories already claim that there is a pact between the White Walkers and the humans and the Night King's army will be returning for their periodical sacrifice. Now we know what you're thinking--even Khaleesi is pregnant, right? Well, but one of her dragons are already with him and given the fact that this child could mean everything to her, we doubt she'll give it away. The insanity shall roll over us starting 26th April. Till then, keep calm and carry on.
  22. If you are well aware of Jasleen Matharu and her weirdly interesting relationship with 'King of Bhajans' Anup Jalota, then you too, just like most of us, are guilty of binge-watching the 12th season of 'Bigg Boss'. While people might have their own biases when it comes to picking their favourite contestants, Anup Jalota and Jasleen were easily the most controversial and entertaining contestants on the show. Bigg Boss/Colors Anyway, the show is over and by the looks of it so are the two. We don't know about Anup Jalota, but Jasleen has surely moved on and her latest transformation is exactly how the 'revenge bod' strategy works. 23.
