  1. Looks like giving expensive gifts to each other is the latest trend in Bollywood. Either that or our Bollywood celebs are low-key increasing the sale of BMW. Recently, Bollywood's 'Dabangg' Khan, Salman Khan, gifted a Rs 1.55 crore BMW M5 to his co-star Kichcha Sudeep. Now, actor John Abraham has surprised his friend, fellow bike enthusiast and Pagalpanti co-star Arshad Warsi, with a BMW F750GS. Everyone knows that actor John Abraham loves bikes. What people may not know is that he loves his friends equally or more than he loves bikes. And Arshad Warsi can vouch for the same. Reportedly, John had earlier sent a picture of BMW F750GS that is worth Rs. 12 lakh to Arshad and asked him whether he liked it. He thought John wanted his suggestion on the bike. Sunday morning ride in the best city in the world, my city #Mumbai pic.twitter.com/b3IbxYtrCm — Arshad Warsi (@ArshadWarsi) January 12, 2020 Obviously, you don't expect your friends to randomly send you a picture of a bike because they want to give it to you! Apparently, John Abraham did exactly that. Although Arshad said not to give him the bike, he sent it over anyway. Arshad, who is a proud owner of a Ducati and an Indian scout, took to Twitter to thank John and wrote "Thank you @TheJohnAbraham for the Beamer. I bless you every time I take it for a ride. Love you buddy..." Thank you â¦@TheJohnAbrahamâ© for the Beamer. I bless you every time I take it for a ride. Love you buddy... pic.twitter.com/OanSnO3PW7 — Arshad Warsi (@ArshadWarsi) January 12, 2020 In fact, it was John who has earlier changed Arshad's wife Maria Goretti's mind about biking. On the work front, John Abraham is now gearin up for his upcoming film Mumbai Saga, the first look of which was dropped on social media today. Director Sanjay Gupta shared its first look and wrote, "One of my favourite moments from Mumbai Saga. And of course Mr. Abraham like never before." Mumbai Saga is said to be a gangster drama set in the 80s and also stars Emraan Hashmi, Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar and Kajal Aggarwal. One of my favourite moments from MUMBAI SAGA. And of course Mr. Abraham like never before. ððð pic.twitter.com/ooKz6wvt1l — Sanjay Gupta (@_SanjayGupta) January 13, 2020 Seriously, have we been friends with the wrong people all our lives? Where can we sign up to be friends with John Abraham? View the full article
  2. Restaurant reservation app Dineout recently published a fascinating annual report, and amongst a list of interesting statistics, one in particular stands out. It seems like the city of Bengaluru has become an undisputed dining hotspot, with one man footing a bill of Rs 2,76,988 at a pub, while another watering hole clocked in over 1 million diners. That's a lot of dishes to wash and bottles to recycle. In fact, the bill is so ridiculous, it's just about what you'd pay to step out of a showroom with a brand new Maruti Alto or Datsun Redi-Go. Not interested in a car? The bill could also cover a trip to London and back again - in Emirates first class seats. Meanwhile, Udaipur stepped up as well - it seems like the 'City of Lakes' played host to the biggest number of couples, with the highest number of 'tables for two'. Indore had the most 'tables for four' reservations and oddly enough, seemed to dine out most often on Thursdays - 60% of Indians dined out on weekends, specifically. With the rise of restaurant culture in India's metros and a no-cooking lifestyle emerging across India's urban youth, it's not surprising that Indians dined out over 5 billion times last year, with 52% of us preferring to dine at casual restaurants as opposed to fast food outlets and fine dining options. Close to 4566 tables were reserved per hour, and the average bill value for dining out was Rs 1600, whereas for ordering in, it was Rs 300. It's also interesting to note that Indians are pretty late eaters - the global average dinnertime sits between 6PM and 8PM, while desi dinners usually happen between 8PM and 10PM. Gotta' blame post-work traffic for that one. So if you're worried that you've been spending too much on dining out, don't worry. You're certainly not alone. View the full article
  3. The Motor Vehicles Act, amended by the Parliament last year, simply states that if you violate traffic rules and regulations, you will definitely pay a much greater fine, and might also face longer imprisonment, than what existed before. The several penalties for violating traffic rules have been hiked up to five times under this amended act. Most penalties are a reiteration of pre-existing traffic rules, which the public is aware of, whereas some of these penalties are new. And now we have a crazy challan incident yet again. Remember the helmet-less man on the scooter who paid a challan of Rs 23,000? If you think that was huge, read further about this incident in Ahmedabad. According to a report in NDTV, a Porsche owner was stopped at Helmet crossroads in Ahmedabad as the car did not have number plates. On being questioned by the traffic police, the driver also failed to produce valid documents of the vehicle. The car was issued an RTO memo under Motor Vehicles Act in November last year and was initially fined for a huge sum of Rs 9.8 lakh. However, later the RTO found out old records and many more violations and finally, the driver was imposed a penalty of Rs. 27.68 lakh. Check out the Ahmedabad Police's tweet https://t.co/KDjkhssFhO — Ahmedabad Police (@AhmedabadPolice) January 8, 2020 If you're wondering how did the amount sum up to be this much? Well, here's how. According to Indian Express, Police sub-inspector M B Virja said, “This car was imported in 2017. Though the owner had initially registered the vehicle in Haryana, the number plates were missing when the car was impounded." "Since the car is now in Gujarat, the RTO calculated the lifetime tax, interest on unpaid tax and penalty at Rs 27.68 lakh. The owner took back his car on Tuesday after showing us the receipt," he added. The owner of the car, Ranjit Desai paid Rs 27.86 lakh to the RTO that were pending and took back his Porsche 911 sports car from Ahmedabad Traffic Police. View the full article
  4. How far will go you to 'eat' something you love? Order a pizza twice a week? Go to Starbucks and get your dose of a special shot of coffee once a week? Okay, but what if one craves something which cannot be probably ordered on Zomato, for example, talcum powder. Lisa Anderson, a 44-year-old English woman who stumbled upon Johnson & Johnson baby powder while giving her young one a bath, has been addicted to eating it and can easily devour a 200 gm tub by herself in a day. © Twitter/DailyMail Lisa is addicted to the point where she needs to lick it off every 30 minutes and sometimes wakes up during the night to eat it when the pangs of hunger attack her. Also, she has spent over 8000 pounds (around Rs 7.5 lakhs) on buying talcum powder for oral consumption. She kept this a secret for over a decade before finally seeking professional help for this disorder. One might associate with Pica, which is a disorder where a person is obsessed with eating non-food items like paint, clay or in Lisa's case, talcum powder. Mother reveals she has an addiction to eating Johnson's Baby Powder https://t.co/8acknKdn9p — Daily Mail U.K. (@DailyMailUK) January 6, 2020 In an interview, she explained her undying hunger for talcum powder. “I've always had it [talcum powder] in the house and would douse myself with it after having a bath or shower. I'd use it on the kids after giving them a wash no problem. And then one day I remember being in the bathroom and the smell was just overpowering. There was a bit of dust that had come off the top of the bottle. I had this sudden urge to eat it and I just couldn't fight it. I just licked it off my hand and really enjoyed it. It just hit this spot. It was satisfying a craving I never knew I had.” Let's hope she gets all the help she needs to fight this addiction as her life is important not for her own sake but for the sake of her five children as well. 5. It's established now that Ranveer Singh's OTT fashion sense is what makes him a true fashionista. Give him anything and he will indubitably turn it into something quirky. Even though he is trolled for his outrageous style, he continues to make more and more appearances like its NBD. That's what truly makes him who he is. © Viral Bhayani He recently wrapped up his schedule for '83 and while we cannot wait for him to kickstart the promotions, you need to take a quick glance at his recent fashion experiment. For Deepika Padukone's birthday celebration at the Mumbai airport, he legit took away all the attention. Take a look at his oversized long trench coat and you would see why this one is the most striking piece. © Viral Bhayani We scoured and found that he is wearing a zany reversible wool coat by Gucci. One side has a houndstooth pattern whereas the other side is backed with GG pattern blended with a classic combination of camel and ebony. The logo is continuously incorporated on this wool coat and the new iterations make this one a statement piece. © Gucci © Gucci Furthermore, the gold-toned metal buttons accentuate the look and feel of this long coat even more. The jacket is oversized and is a perfect way to rev up winter fashion game. © Viral Bhayani Gucci being a luxury brand, it can instantly burn a big hole in our pocket. The jacket comes at a whopping price of Rs. 3,27,456. Now, let that sink in first! Speaking of Ranveer's overall outfit, he is sporting the classic denim on denim trend. The Gucci Cap, which is again an overly expensive accessory priced at Rs. 30,960, is truly head-turning. As far as his sneakers are concerned, he is wearing Converse x JW ANDERSON. Probably, this is the only thing out of his outfit that's priced at Rs.10,000. © Viral Bhayani It's just the start of the month and the new year but truly Ranveer's overall outfit can give anyone that 'broke' feels. Must say, Baba, killed it again and how! Well done, Ranveer. View the full article
  6. What are you doing Marcus Stoinis? As the calendar turns to a whole new decade, the perception towards the relationship between competitive sports and socially unacceptable remarks continues to remain awry. The latest case of an athlete losing his sane mind in the name of 'getting caught in the moment' comes at the hands of Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. During a Big Bash League match between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars, Stoinis reportedly threw homophobic slurs at former Aussie teammate and pacer Kane Richardson. After reviewing the incident, Cricket Australia slapped the cricketer with a AUD 5,700 (Rs. 3.7 lakh approx.) fine. Stoinis admitted that he was wrong in commenting on Richardson's sexual preference and willingly accepted the hefty fine. "I got caught in the moment and took it too far," Stoinis apologised after the match. "I realised immediately I was in the wrong and I apologised to Kane and to the umpires." "I did the wrong thing and accept responsibility for my actions. The standards are there for a reason and I accept the penalty," he added. “I got caught in the moment and took it too far. I did the wrong thing and accept responsibility for my actions." Marcus Stoinis has apologised and been fined $7500 for aiming a homophobic slur at Kane Richardson ð https://t.co/NqxigZEoWd pic.twitter.com/A0NnVjm7fa — Fox Cricket (@FoxCricket) January 4, 2020 However, many including the former Australian opener Simon Katich, believe that the fine wasn't strict enough and that Stoinis got off easy. “I'm not sure a financial punishment is the right way of going about it, given we've had a couple of instances of this throughout the summer now,” Katich said on SEN radio. “It's something they'd be pretty keen to stamp out.” Simon Katich pulls no punches on SEN pic.twitter.com/BZMrTOKWDk — Daniel Brettig (@danbrettig) January 5, 2020 “I'm not sure a financial penalty in this day and age, when players are very well looked after, is that significant, " Katich added. “The behaviour in this matter falls short of the standards we expect and we have acted accordingly,” Cricket Australia's head of integrity Sean Carroll said. “There is no place for it in the game.” What's worse is that such homophobic remarks were made by an Australian cricketer just months after right-arm pacer James Pattison was banned from the first Test against Pakistan and faced the same level-two fine for similar offence. The only difference was that it was Pattison's third instance while Stoinis did something like this for the first time. Here's how Twitter users feel about the incident: James Pattinson misses a Test for something similar and Stoinis gets a fine? I know Patto had priors, but that seems a little unbalanced. — ðFlashScore Cricket Commentatorsð (@FlashCric) January 4, 2020 The Australian team now full of cheats and homophobes. — tired (@Chris91821311) January 5, 2020 Am pleased he was called on his behaviour and fined ... no excuse for homophobic anything! — Hear Our Voice (@HearOurVoice7) January 5, 2020 @CricketAus This is the reason I will never support Cricket in this country. These phones are particularly popular amongst users who don't really know how to work smartphones or just prefer using feature phones. Having said that, digital payments took off with a great start in India with UPI payments being the most popular payment mode. © HMD-Global However, over half a billion users in India are not able to use digital payments simply because they use feature phones instead. 8. Throwing away garbage is part of daily chores for us. But wait! What if you accidentally throw away money with the garbage? Well then, not all of us would get as lucky as this British couple. In a bizzare incident, according to a report in Daily Hunt, a couple threw away Rs.14 Lakh in the garbage and luckily, it ended up at a recycling centre. The couple from England's Burnham-on-Sea "unknowingly" threw away that amount which was hidden by a deceased relative. © BCCL The couple, as per the reports, were cleaning the house of a deceased relative and had taken a bunch of boxes to the recycling centre. A worker at the recycling centre was checking the boxes for an electric cable when he stumbled upon the money. Subequently, he called the Avon and Somerset Police and alerted them about the same without taking any money for himself. Cops, suggest reports, checked the CCTV footage and further identified the car in which the boxes were dropped. Then with the help of the car's registration number the cops found the couple's home address. The couple informed the cops that their dead relative was in a habit of hiding money in different places around the house. However, they weren't expecting it to be in a box full of junk. Later the cash was handed over to the couple and the police department took to Facebook to thank the honest staff member. They wrote, “We would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the recycling center. Without their diligent attitude, integrity, and assistance, the family would never have known about the money found, and we would not have been able to return it to them, especially in time for Christmas". It's for such honest people like this staff that the world is still a better place to live. View the full article

  10. Apple's new Mac Pro desktop machine just recently went on sale in India and it can cost you as much as Rs 38 Lakh. If that's not enough to leave your eyes wide open, then wait till you hear about the new Pro Display XDR. In case you remember, Apple also launched a new monitor to go along with the new Mac Pro machine. It's called the Pro Display XDR, and it's one of the best displays Apple has ever made. After the Mac Pro machine, Apple has now started selling the new Pro Display XDR in India, and it's just as expensive as we thought it would be. © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee Pricing and AvailabilityApple is going to sell the base variant of the Pro Display XDR for Rs 4,49,900. Yes, it's a monitor that costs Rs 4.5 Lakh. The base variant of the monitor comes with a standard glass on the front. If you want the one with a nano-textured glass, then it'll cost you Rs 5,29,900. It's also worth pointing out that the Pro Display XDR will not ship with a stand. Yes, you'll have to buy it separately and it'll cost you another Rs 91,900. We are trying very hard to resist kidney jokes here! But jokes aside, both the Mac Pro machine and the Pro Display XDR are made for professionals. Both the Mac Pro and the 6k monitor, as you probably already know, is overkill for an average user. Whereas for professionals and artists working on movies, shoots, music, etc. it's an ideal system that's going to keep up with their workload for a very long time. View the full article
  11. A man in Bengaluru is looking for his stolen 'Samsung' and if anyone helps him find it, that person will be rewarded with Rs. 1 lakh. Wait, what? Yes, you read it right. The reward is hefty because his 'Samsung' is reportedly worth Rs. 8 crore. By now I know what most of you are thinking - Which Samsung model does thing guy have? Since when did Samsung start making phones that were priced at Rs. 8 crores? But you know what I am thinking about? Who names their dog 'Samsung', seriously. Folks, the stolen Samsung in question is actually a three-year old Alaskan Malamute, which was imported from Beijing, China a couple of years ago by Sathish. Sathish, who is the owner of Cadaboms Kennels and the president of the Indian Dog Breeders' Association, told Bangalore Mirror "I imported Samsung from China for Rs. 8 crore, two years ago when she was a one-year-old pup". © Twitter Reportedly, Sathish gave Samsung to a family since they bonded with the dog so well. However, there was a condition, the family can keep the dog but when it gave birth to pups they can only keep one and give the rest of the litter to Sathish. However, when Sathish asked the family to send Samsung to him for his birthday, the family started making excuses. After some time, when he sternly asked them about Samsung, the family revealed that the dog was stolen. © wikimedia for representation According to a report, he and the family then lodged a complaint at the Hanumanthanagar police station and also circulated the dog's pictures on social media and announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh. People say that a dog is a 'hooman's' best friend and the most loyal companion. Only dogs can love you unconditionally and not expect anything in return. They can even take a 'shot' for you, unless of course you're taking them to a vet, then it's a different story altogether. So it's only fair that we humans give them all our love and protect them with all we can. Recently, we came across a woman from San Francisco who loves her dog so much that when he got lost, stolen to be accurate, she announced a reward of $7000 i.e. close to Rs. 5 lakh to anyone who finds him. Most people were like, "Yeah right, you think she's going to pay crores to get her dog back?" Well, you might think it's a crazy idea, but people in real life love their pets more than they love humans, and they can go to any lengths for them. Jackson is a blue-eyed Australian Shepherd who was tied outside the grocery store and according to the store's surveillance camera footage, a man wearing a hoodie walked towards it, clicked pictures, petted it and then untied it and walked away with the dog. "He's always with me. It's a very real love. I just need help finding him," Emilie told media. © Bring Jackson Home (Dot) Com Now, Talermo has started her search mission where she has created a website to find her dog and is also offering $7000 as reward. It's close to Rs. 5 lakh by the way. In fact, she has even hired a plane to look for her lost dog. Reportedly, the plane will circle San Francisco and Oakland with a banner that will display the name of that website. The plane is apparently going to circle for 2 hours over the cities and cost $1200 which is Rs. 85,350 approx. However, due to bad weather that flight got delayed. © Bring Jackson Home (Dot) Com She's also raised more than $7000 on GoFundMe and she plans to donate the extra money to a dog rescue organization. We hope Emilie finds Jackson soon. This is true love, guys. View the full article
  13. Remember Apple's new Mac Pro machine? Yeah, the one which people started calling a "cheese grater". Well, in case you remember, it was estimated that a fully decked out version of the Mac Pro with all the bells and whistles will cost around $45,000, which is roughly around Rs 35 Lakh. Guess what? Apple started accepting pre-orders for the Mac Pro yesterday in the US and we finally know how much it'll cost to buy the most powerful Mac Pro. Turns out, it's more expensive than what was estimated earlier. © Apple If you head over to Apple's website and configure one with the most powerful pieces of hardware, then it'll add up $52,599. Yes, the most powerful Mac Pro costs over $50,000. That's just insane because it roughly translates to about Rs 38 lakh. The price tag makes it most expensive Mac ever. The base price of the Mac Pro starts at $5,999. That'll get you an entry-level machine with an octa-core Intel Xeon CPU, 32GB of RAM, a Radeon Pro 580X graphics, and 256GB of SSD. But if you keep adding on better components, like a 28-core 2.5GHz (turbo boost up to 4.4Ghz) Intel Xeon W that costs $7,000, the price naturally goes up. Top of the line GPU add-on, for instance, will add another $10,000 and so on. So you add all of that and the fully decked out Mac Pro will cost you $52,599. It's worth pointing out that the new Pro Display XDR isn't included in this price. That'll be an additional $5,999. © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee Well, you can't pre-order one in India just yet. Apple's website clearly tells you to check back later for availability details. But looking at the pricing in the US, we won't be surprised to see a super-premium price tag here too. We'll be back with India-specific details very soon, so stay tuned. Source: TheVerge View the full article
  14. The National Basketball Association (NBA) have a norm of starting out every game with the national anthem of the United States of America (the Canadian national anthem is also sung when a game takes place in Toronto). As a member of an American basketball franchise, every teammate must stand in the line as the anthem plays in the background, even if you are not an American. You aren't forced to sing the anthem along, you aren't forced to stand still, you aren't forced to not look anywhere you want. This makes sense. What doesn't make sense is the way the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) is trying to shove Chinese patriotism down the throats of those who do not even belong to that country. Recently, a former NBA player and one of the top French athletes to make it to the top of the game, Guerschon Yabusele, was fined by the CBA for not looking at the Chinese flag during the national anthem ahead of the game. View this post on Instagram Crazy game last night #BuzzerBeater #2020 ð A post shared by Yabusele 𧸠(@guerschony) on Dec 7, 2019 at 5:52am PST The Nanjing Tongxi Monkey King Power Forward has been given a “serious warning” and fined 10,000-yuan (Rs. 1 Lakh approx) for what they felt was a disrespect to their national pride. It wasn't even as if Yabusele was challenging the Chinese sovereignty or protesting the norm. Television footage shows that the athlete was standing in line with the rest of his teammates and it was just that he had kept his head down, which by the way, all NBA players (American or not) do all the time. A game is about to start, players have tons of things going on inside their brain. Even if they knew that they weren't supposed to hang their head, it is okay to forget about it sometimes. This act of enforcing patriotism by making foreigners “respect” your nationality is simply shameful. And while Yabusele has made no comments about the whole situation, it is rather disappointing to see the French government not stepping up and dealing with the injustice that they saw happening to one of their own. Amongst the counterfeit products, it was found that products like Mi Powerbanks, Mi Neckbands, Mi Travel Adaptor with Cable, Mi Earphone Basic with Mic, Mi Wireless Headsets, Redmi Air Dots, Mi 2-in-1 USB Cable and others were being sold at a number of stores. © Xiaomi According to Xiaomi, “The police found out upon interrogation that the four suppliers have been managing this business for years now. In most cases, consumers can identify a fake product by looking at the packaging, quality of build materials, branding and logo details. Some products now come with a barcode or a serial number that can be double-checked from the company's official website. “Illicit suppliers and retailers attempt to seize the opportunity to cheat consumers and introduce fake products in the market. It is strictly advised to all customers to purchase authorized products from authorised stores of the brand and partner outlets and also to be cautious and aware of purchase decisions.” Xiaomi said. That being said, there's a good chunk of the population that prefers using a good old feature phone. I personally prefer using a dumb feature phone instead of a smartphone to stay away from all the buzzing notifications. However, there are things which you simply can't do on a feature phone. Making payments, for instance, is a huge pain. Although that could change very soon as NCPI has now partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates foundations to help create an app for the same. Exciting opportunity for #innovators worldwide to build payment solutions for feature phone users in India! Congrats to @CIIEIndia, @NPCI_NPCI & @gatesfoundation for launching the Grand Challenge. More details here - https://t.co/L52lNwLTvb — Nandan Nilekani (@NandanNilekani) November 22, 2019 NCPI (National Payments Corporation of India), for those of you who don't know, are the same people who brought us BHIM, which is a UPI-based payment. And they've collaborated with CIIE.Co and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to give away a huge reward to folks who make a working payments app for feature phones. They've essentially come together to announce a competition, in which they're calling out developers to provide innovative solutions to make this happen. The winner of the competition will walk away with $100,000, which roughly translates to about Rs 70 lakh. That's indeed a lot of money for making an app. That and think about the exposure which you will gain from this particular gig. Vishal Anand Kanvaty, Chief of Innovation at NPCI noted that a significant chunk of population in India still relies on feature phones. And he thinks a solution is necessary to move India into a cashless economy. “Feature phones hold a significant share of the mobile user base in rural and semi-urban populations to anchor India's move to a cashless economy rapidly. With the help of the government and the payments ecosystem, it is crucial that we should focus on providing smart and simple payment solutions to feature phone users," he said. © Reuters Obviously coming up with a proper solution isn't going to be an easy job, but that's exactly what the competition is all about. Winners will also get support from CIIE.Co Bharat Inclusion Initiative, that provides support to sustain startups in the country. If you think you have it takes to come up with a solution or if you think you somebody who can then let then ask them to do the needful by clicking right here. View the full article

  21. What do you do if you're an actor, have the entire world at your feet and are having the golden run anyone has seen in over a decade? Well, apart from giving some really memorable films, and making one resounding style statement after the other, you indulge in some of the finer pleasures that life has to offer. Well, that's exactly what Ayushmann Khurrana has been doing this year. © Instagram/ayushmannk The man has been dropping one style statement(https://www.mensxp.com/fashion/celebrity-style/57981-ayushmann-khurrana-makes-a-statement-with-breezy-airport-look.html) after the other at award ceremonies, film promotions, and even airports. © Instagram/ayushmannk Just recently, he was seen in one of the hippest camouflage athleisure outfits that we have seen this year. However, one of his accessories simply walked away with the proverbial cake, for it is, quite simply, one of the most insane backpacks that we have seen this year. © Viral Bhayani But first, let's get to his outfit first. Ayushmann is wearing a rather cool sweatshirt from Adidas. The sweatshirt in question is the R.Y.V. Camouflage Crewneck Sweatshirt and it retails for just under $80 or Rs 5500. © Adidas The track pants are also from the same line and are called the R.Y.V. Camouflage Track Pants, and they retail for about $90 or Rs 6500. Although the track pants and the sweatshirt are sold separately, they do make for one hell of a co-ord set. The set has been paired with a rather dope looking pair of sneakers, from Adidas' Originals lineup. © Adidas But what really stole the show for us, is the leather backpack from Gucci that Ayushmann's carrying with panache. The Signature Leather Backpack is made completely from leather and has the classic GG, Gucci logo engraved all over itself. © Gucci What makes the bag so exquisite (and therefore so expensive) is the fact that it's made in Italy, and the inner lining has a very fine, suede-like fibre that keeps whatever you store in the bag, scuff and scratch-free. © Gucci The price for all this goodness? Well, the bag retails for $1,890 or Rs 1.31 lakh. © Viral Bhayani All we'll say is that be ready to pay some hefty taxes and duties if you are planning on buying this anytime soon, considering the exorbitant taxes one has to pay when importing luxury items such as these. 22. Do you have a “kind and friendly” face? If yes, you have a chance of getting instantly famous and earning around Rs 92 lakh. Wait, don't get all excited yet! It can happen only if you are cool about being the face of a new “humanoid robot”. Imagine your friend calling and telling you that she saw you in London while you were sitting here in New Delhi, drinking bad filter coffee in the office. Well, according to news reports, a British engineering and manufacturing firm known as Geomiq will make you richer only if you are interested in becoming the face of thousands of mass-produced "state-of-the-art humanoid” that is currently working along with an unnamed company. © Reuters In a blog post about the project, Geomiq say, "This will entail the selected person's face being reproduced on potentially thousands of versions of the robots worldwide." The manufacturers have been working on the design from the past five years and the robots will be a companion for senior citizens. Isn't that brilliant? The news reports suggest that the unnamed company, behind the manufacturing of robots, has been privately funded by many independent VCs and a leading fund based out of Shanghai. © Reuters According to the blog post shared by Geomiq, the robot will act as a virtual friend for elderly people. Their manufacturing, suggested the blog, will begin from next year. Besides, they are currently making therapy robots for senior citizens and army veterans to make them feel less lonely. While you're getting all excited about the offer, what if there is a breach of confidentiality and the data is taken by *** robot makers? We see uncountable data thefts daily, and this isn't something that sounds impossible.
  23. 22-year-old Kinsey Wolanski took the footballing world by storm as she invaded the pitch during this year's Champions League final. The American model stormed the pitch in a black swimsuit that sported the name of the adult website run by her boyfriend and YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy. She was immediately arrested by authorities in Madrid after her antics, before being released later. It has now come to light that as further punishment, she has been fined €15,000. According to reports, she has been handed a €5,000 (almost â¹4 Lakh) fine for storming onto the pitch and an additional €10,000 (almost â¹8 Lakh) fine for illegally trying to advertise her boyfriend's website. $3.97 million: Value, in equivalent advertising time as of 5:30pm ET, garnered by Vitaly Uncensored, an adult site featured on the clothing of streaking model Kinsey Wolanski, according to @ApexMGAnalytics. Wolansky is girlfriend of YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who owns the site pic.twitter.com/R3obTmdKYU — Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) June 1, 2019 However, the fine is a small sum to pay as the website has reportedly garnered â¹27 Crores in publicity through the fiasco and apparently, membership on the website has grown to 32 million members. Meanwhile, Wolanski's social media handles blew up predictably, before being taken down. In a rather uneventful game, in which a Mohamed Salah penalty in the 2nd minute and a surprise goal from Divock Origi was enough for Liverpool to clinch their 6th European Trophy, Wolanski's antics were the biggest talking point. © Reuters After the story broke, reports have come out saying that the cost of legally advertising a brand during the UCL final is close to $4 million (â¹27 Crore), ie, a little more than the revenue generated by the website through the stunt. Surely a fine of in and around â¹12 Lakh for â¹27 Crores worth of publicity is a small price to pay...
  24. No matter how bizarre a hack is, as long as it works it's absolutely fine. At least that's what I have learned from people around me. And we Indians seem to have acquired the special talent of being a pro at 'jugaad'. Think of the most unimaginable hack possible and chances are that an Indian would have tried and tested that hack to his benefit already. Just like this hack of using cow dung to keep a car cool in the scorching heat. And when I say use it, I mean changing the car's colour to brown. FYI, the car in question is a Toyota Corolla Altis, the road price of which starts from Rs 16 lakh (approx) © Facebook In what can be rightly called the 'coolest' hack ever, a woman in Ahmedabad coated her entire car with cow dung, as the temperature shot up to 45 degrees. Thanks to Facebook user Rupesh Gauranga Das for sharing the pictures with us, and enlightening us with this ingenious hack. According to his post, the car owner is from Ahmedabad, but the car's number plate states that the car is from Maharashtra. South Bombay to be specific. Das wrote in his post, "Best use of cow dung I have ever seen. It's in Amdavad. To counter 45 degrees heat temperatures and protect car from getting hot, Mrs Sejal shah has plastered her car with cow dung. Getting cool." For those wondering how effective the trick is, cow dung is actually a kind of insulator that blocks the heat of the outer surface from getting into the inner surface. That's the reason a lot of people in rural areas coat the outer walls of their houses with cow dung, to keep their house cool. And here we thought parking our car under the shade of a tree will do the job.
  25. Arguably one of the greatest English footballers of all time, Frank Lampard enthralled fans with his long-range screamers on the field and, a calm and composed demeanour off it. With 29 goals for England and a record 211 goals for Chelsea (in all competitions), Lampard was undoubtedly the best midfielder of his generation. Cherished by fans and respected by opponents, Lampard bid a teary adieu to his professional footballing career in 2017. But, the Chelsea legend couldn't stay away from the sport as he returned to football, this time in the managerial role, when he joined Championship club Derby County as their manager in 2018. And, for a man who thrived in the role of a midfielder, Lampard seems to be carving his own niche in the managerial role with the same vigour that once saw him capture the imagination of fans as a footballer. The 40-year-old has been having the time of his life with Derby County. And, more recently, he enjoyed his best night as a football manager on 16th May. © Reuters Building on, what is turning out to be a terrific season for them, Lampard guided Derby County to the Championship playoff semifinals after finishing sixth in the league. After losing the first leg 1-0 at Pride Park, Lampard helped Derby in staging a spectacular comeback in the second leg as they hammered Leeds United 4-2 to ensure they are now just a win away from joining the big boys in the coveted Premier League next season. ð¤©#FridayFeeling pic.twitter.com/n74XgRafGa — Derby County (@dcfcofficial) May 17, 2019 Incredible scenes as the Derby players sing “Stop Crying Frank Lampard” in the changing room ð ð¥ @dcfcofficial pic.twitter.com/0kmOIuULh9 — ODDSbible (@ODDSbible) May 15, 2019 The thrilling comeback win understandably called for celebrations which, as expected, went long into the night. Derby County players and staff celebrated their triumph at the King's Head in Duffield. The pub also shared a video of them celebrating their playoff victory. And, if that wasn't enough, the fact that Lampard and his boys wracked up a 2,800-pound (over Rs 2.50 lakh) bill in their post-match celebrations, shows what victory really meant to this bunch. ð» - 209 beers ð¥ - 75 Jaegermeisters ð¸ - 64 shots of Vodka ....and 1 diet coke! 𥤠@dcfcofficials's Frank Lampard took his players out after their play-off semi-final win over @LUFC and it looks like they certainly enjoyed themselves...ð pic.twitter.com/aujxl99JUn — Sky Sports Football (@SkyFootball) May 17, 2019 But, it was Lampard, once again, who ran away with all the praise - this time for being the responsible manager. It has been learned that Lampard took care of the hefty bill that was accumulated through 209 beers, 75 jagers, 54 sambuca shots and 38 tequila shots. Well, if that's how the Derby is going to celebrate in the Championship, we can't help but wonder what this lot will do once they come to play in the Premier League.
