  1. Dogs are the best beings and none of us can deny this. All they seek is love and at times we just somehow fail to reciprocate the amount of affection they give us. Recently, a video of Irelandâs President Michael D. Higgins giving belly rubs to his dog between an event for Womenâs Day has left the internet happy. © Unsplash The heartwarming video showcases the Irish President D. Higgins's dog named Brod wandering at the venue of the event trying to find his master. The President appears busy during a social gathering but the dog casually walks towards him for some love. While walking towards the President, a lot of people are seen admiring the cute dog. After reaching his owner, the dog is seen laying on his back and asking the President for some belly rubs. However, the President gives him belly rubs and he calmly enjoys it. Check out the video here- I am glad I live in a country where the President is constitutionally required to give belly rubs even when heâs very busy. from r/awwThe video was initially shared by a journalist Ibrah Razan on Twitter and has now garnered over 1.76 Million views and has been going viral since then. The reactions in the comments section show how delighted people were with the dog's innocent reactions. So, here are a few reactions by the people on the internet for the cute doggo video that has been curing our Monday blues. Aww⦠All the wonderful people who came to visit were the real stars. 4. Ever since the CAA and NRC were announced in India by the Government, the nation has been witnessing a state of turbulence, finding itself divided into two ideologies - one that supports it and the other that totally shuns it. Just recently, comedian Jaaved Jaaferi shared a piece of news on social media that talked of a resolution moved in Europe against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Resolution moved in Europe against CAA https://t.co/3wKiCxvfra â Jaaved Jaaferi (@jaavedjaaferi) January 26, 2020 A Twitter user condemned his post saying, âWhy donât you move to Europe. We donât need traitors in our nation.â Why don't you move to Europe. We don't need traitors in our nation â Rohini #BharatHinduNation (@RohiniShah73) January 28, 2020 On this, Jaaved responded, âYOUR nation ??? Kab kharida aapne ma'am ?? Last time I read the constitution it spoke of democracy, equality, and right to dissent. Wouldnât know if you have made any changes privately though..kindly update.â YOUR nation ??? Kab kharida aapne maâm ?? Last time I read the constitution it spoke of democracy, equality and right to dissent.. Wouldnât know if you have made any changes privately though..kindly update â Jaaved Jaaferi (@jaavedjaaferi) January 28, 2020 Former Member of Parliament and BJP leader Narendra Swaikar also replied to Jaavedâs tweet, âClap Mr. Jaaved. How does it matter? I hope you are aware we are an independent, sovereign Republic. Indians will do whatever that is in their interest & the nation. @jaavedjaaferi,â The two, then, indulged further in a banter that just got more intense. Take a look at it: Clap Mr. Jaaved. So why discuss NRC? Issue of Constitutionalty is before SC. Lets wait for the outcome. Why jump to conclusions? â Narendra Sawaikar नरà¥à¤à¤¦à¥à¤° सावà¤à¤à¤° (@NSawaikar) January 29, 2020you actually believe that the NPR- CAA-NRC are not linked ??? And are we really wanting changes in the amazing constitutions 14,15,16? The students have been expressing their displeasure over the current CAA argument. Following the protests, many Bollywood celebs have also spoken on the matter, asserting how they do not approve of the violence in the country. View the full article
  5. Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s net worth will leave you shocked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have sent shock waves within the British royal family after they announced their decision of stepping down as senior members and moving to Canada. While this is no hidden secret, that when it comes to the royal family, money and fortune is in abundance. Forbes in 2017, reported that the family as a whole is worth $88 billion. However, how much is the actual worth of Meghan and Harry? Read on to find out: Meghan Markle’s net worthMeghan Markle’s wealth is accredited to her former career as a successful actress in Los Angeles. The former Suits star, who played the role of paralegal Rachel Zane, is worth a whipping $2.2 million based on the salary she earned for Suits, according to Forbes. Prior to marrying Harry, Meghan also featured in movies like Remember Me and ran her own lifestyle blog, The Tig, all of which contributed to her wealth massively. Did you know Harry is as rich as his brother Prince William?Contrary to popular belief, Prince Harry is as affluent as his elder brother, Prince William. As per Money in May 2019, the Duke of Sussex’s net worth is estimated to be somewhere between $25 million and $40 million. Both Harry and William have inherited money from their mother, Princess Diana, and from the Queen Mother, their great-grandmother. It is also said that Harry inherited a bit more than William from their great-grandmother because he isn't the future king. Forbes also went on to reveal that Princess Diana gave $10 million to her sons, which they received as annual dividends worth about $450,000 per year until 30 years of their age. Moreover, Harry’s income also comes from the Duchy of Cornwall, which covers Prince Charles, his wife, his sons and their growing families' expenses, having assets worth $1.3 billion. Not only this, Harry also earned a salary from his time as a British Army captain, where Town & Country reported he made around $50,000 per year.
  6. US Defense Secretary Mark Esper. Photo: File WASHINGTON: Pentagon chief Mark Esper denied on Monday that American forces would pull out of Iraq, after a US general's letter told the Iraqi government that troops were preparing to depart "in due deference to the sovereignty" of the country. "There is no decision whatsoever to leave Iraq... There has been no decision made to leave Iraq. Period," the US defence secretary said, one day after the Iraqi parliament voted in favor of ordering the US military out. "That letter is inconsistent with where we are right now," Esper added. The official letter from US Brigadier General William Seely, the commanding general of Task Force Iraq, indicated clearly that US forces were readying for departure. "In deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, CJTF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement," he wrote, referring to the coalition force fighting Daesh in Iraq and Syria. "We respect your sovereign decision to order our departure," said the letter, whose authenticity was confirmed to AFP by both Iraqi and US defence officials. But Pentagon Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley said the letter was only a "draft" that shouldn't have been sent. He said it was "poorly worded" and was actually meant to indicate the US was shifting troops between bases, and not withdrawing. "It was a mistake, an honest mistake, a draft unsigned letter, because we are moving forces around," Milley told reporters. "This was a mistake," Milley said. "It shouldn't have been sent." On Sunday the Iraqi parliament — angered over a US drone strike two days earlier that killed a powerful Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani, while he was in Baghdad — voted to support the US exit. Caretaker prime minister Adel Abdel Mahdi slammed the US strike as a "political assassination." In reaction President Donald Trump warned he would impose "very big sanctions" on Iraq if moved to expel US troops. "If they do ask us to leave — if we don't do it in a very friendly basis — we will charge them sanctions like they've never seen before," Trump said. Esper said on Monday that many Iraqis, including lawmakers who did not take part in Sunday's vote, appreciate the US presence. "I think the Iraqi people don't want us to leave. They know that the United States is there to help them become a sovereign, independent, prosperous country," he said. "It's a terrible situation the Iraqi people face in their country where they don't have control, where their country is being whipsawed by Tehran."
  7. Photo: Reuters BASRA: US citizens working for foreign oil companies in the southern Iraqi oil city of Basra were leaving the country on Friday, the Oil Ministry said, after a US air strike killed a top Iranian commander in Iraq. Hours after the killing of Iranian Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was with him, the US embassy in Baghdad urged all its citizens to leave Iraq immediately. Iraqi officials said the evacuation would not affect oil operations, production or exports from the country, the second-biggest producer in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries with output of about 4.62 million barrels per day (bpd), according to a Reuters survey of OPEC output. Read more: Pompeo phones Gen Bajwa to discuss 'defensive action' of killing Soleimani Oil company sources told Reuters earlier on Friday that dozens of foreign workers were expected to fly out of the country. A Reuters witness saw a number of foreigners, including US citizens, queuing to check-in at Basra airport and described the atmosphere as relaxed. Some were traveling to Dubai on airline FlyDubai and others were checking in at the Qatar airways counter. A spokesman for BP, which operates the giant Rumaila oil field near Basra, declined to comment. Rumaila produced around 1.5 million bpd as recently as April. Italian energy group Eni said the Zubair oil field, which produced around 475,000 bpd in 2018, was “proceeding regularly”, adding it was closely monitoring the situation. US energy group Exxon Mobil declined to comment on whether it was evacuating staff but said production “continues normally” at its West Qurna 1 oil concession in the south of the country near the Iranian border. “We continue to watch the situation closely,” a spokeswoman said. Exxon removed around 60 foreign staff from West Qurna last May after attacks near its oil facilities. The employees returned about two weeks later after the government agreed to provide additional security. Also read: Iran and 'free nations of region' to avenge general's killing: Rouhani Ian Bryant, Chief Executive of Canadian oilfield company Packers Plus said he was “more concerned than ever about the safety of our staff in Iraq”, adding he was worried that US, British and Canadian citizens might get caught up in any unrest. Genel, an oil producer in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in northern Iraq, said its operations were continuing normally. It did not comment on any staff movements. Gulf Keystone Petroleum , which also operates in Kurdistan, said “while these events are taking place...Gulf Keystone is closely monitoring the situation and operations at (the Shaikan field) are carrying on as per usual”. Norway’s DNO did not immediately reply to a request for comment. Oil services firm Petrofac, which operates in Iraq, was not immediately available for comment.
  8. Some people took to paddling in small rubber lifeboats or tyre inner-tubes to get around. AFP/RezasIndonesia's disaster agency warned Thursday of more deaths after torrential rains pounded the Jakarta region, triggering floods and landslides that killed at least 29 and left vast swaths of the megalopolis underwater. Tens of thousands fled to temporary shelters across the capital region — home to some 30 million — with scores of houses damaged in the deadliest flooding in years, after torrential rains on New Year's Eve. Images showed waterlogged homes and cars covered in muddy floodwaters, while some people took to paddling in small rubber lifeboats or tyre inner-tubes to get around. In Bekasi, on the outskirts of the city, receding waters revealed swampy streets littered with debris and crushed cars lying on top of each other — with waterline marks reaching as high as buildings' second floors. "I saw the water coming and it just kept getting higher and higher," said Deddy Supriadi, after a local river overflowed on the first day of 2020. "It swept away 40 or 50 cars that were parked right here," he told AFP. Baby rescuesRescuers used inflatable boats to evacuate residents trapped in their homes, including children and seniors. TV images showed the dramatic rescue of a baby saved by disaster personnel who waded through chin-deep water to the family's home and carried the infant away to safety in a small plastic tub. "We've been rescuing newborns, mothers who just gave birth and babies trapped in houses without food," said Yusuf Latif, spokesman for the National Search and Rescue agency. "In some places, the rescue operation was quite challenging and difficult. The water was deep with a strong current. Some alleyways were so narrow that it was hard for our inflatable boats to pass through," he added. Across the city, kids took the opportunity to swim in the floodwaters while some people grabbed fishing rods. "I saw people were fishing here so I followed them," said 28-year-old Agung Rosiadi. "There were lots of fish before but I don't know why they're all gone now," he added. 'Without warning'At least 26 people died in greater Jakarta, while three more were killed by flash floods in neighbouring Lebak regency in the south of Java island, according to the local disaster agency. Police in Lebak said Thursday they were searching for as many as eight people who could still be missing. "We hope the toll won't keep going up," Social Affairs Minister Juliari Peter Batubara told reporters earlier Thursday. Around Jakarta, an eight-year-old boy killed in a landslide and an 82-year-old pensioner were among the confirmed victims. Others died from drowning or hypothermia, while one 16-year-old boy was electrocuted by a power line. "The floods hit without warning," Munarsih, who goes by one name, said from her waterlogged neighbourhood in Jakarta's western outskirts where dozens of families fled to safety. "The water came very fast and it rose quickly. We couldn't manage to get our stuff out, including my car," she added. Monsoon rainsStories about animal rescues went viral online, including a dog chained to a fence that was plucked from certain death, while a drenched rat was filmed taking refuge on a floating plastic sandal. On Wednesday, electricity was switched off in many Jakarta districts to prevent more electrocutions, with some train lines and one airport also shut. By Thursday, most service had returned to normal. The disaster marked Jakarta's worst flooding since 2013 when dozens were killed after the city was inundated by monsoon rains. Jakarta is regularly hit by floods during Indonesia's rainy season, which started in late November. Authorities said Thursday that some 31,000 people had been evacuated, but that figure did not include residents in Jakarta's satellite cities.
  9. The entire country, from Delhi to Chennai, is peacefully protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act at the moment and it's great to see how everyone has united to fight bigotry. Among the lakhs and lakhs of protestors was Jakob Lindenthal, a German guy studying Master of Science (Physics) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He, along with thousands of people, held up signs and took part in a bunch of protests in his city, but now because of that, he's being kicked out of the country. © Twitter While talking to The Federal, he revealed how immigration officials confronted him about his participation in protests and how he was asked to leave the country. Recounting the entire incident, he said, "I went there and the initial conversation was friendly. So I told them everything. Soon, they started confronting me on why I participated in protests held against the Citizenship Act in Chennai. Only then I realised things were getting serious." © Twitter He went on, "They told me the protests held in the city were all without permission. And of all, I do not have any permission to participate in such protests as I have come here on students' visa. Only then I came to know that all the protests that took place in the city were illegal. I have come here on a student visa. According to its rules, whatever I do apart from studying is a violation of the visa. So, I cannot take part in such protests." He tried to apologise, but it was in vain. Overall, he was unhappy with how the immigration officials handled the situation. He said, "There was a leaflet on the table. I expected them to give it to me. But, when asked, they refused and asked me to leave. I did not even know the name of the immigration officials who spoke to me." © Twitter No official reason has been given by the immigration department, but it's not a coincidence that this happened right after he took part in protests. Moreover, one of his classmates said police had collected his details when he was protesting outside the campus. Another friend of his said, "He did not only protest inside the campus against the amended law but also participated in the demonstrations organised in Valluvar Kottam and other places in Chennai." People are obviously not happy about it. It shows our sick mindset to deport foreign students like Jakob Lindenthal, MS exchange student from Germany in department of Physics at IIT Madras for his participation in the anti CAA protests. 10. If you're someone who has done their homework when it comes to Winter skincare, that's great. However, there are certain commonly-believed-to-be-true myths out there that can actually do more harm than good. So while taking care of your skin is great, one shouldn't expose the skin to products/habits that can, in fact, reverse the good. These include: 1. Using Lotion Or Body Cream © Getty Images Using body cream or worse lotion on your face will do a terrible job on your face. The old runny consistency of these products isn't going to cut it anymore. These products aren't meant for your face. Make sure you're using a face cream, not a lotion. If you've been using a product at night, double it up and make it twice a day and use it both in the morning as well as at night. 2. You're Moisturising At The Wrong Time © Getty Images It makes a huge difference to moisturise immediately after bathing than not applying moisturiser at all or applying it long after the shower. A good idea is to stash your face moisturiser in your shower so you can apply it directly to damp skin before you step out of the washroom. 3. Using The Wrong Cleanser © Getty Images Avoid soaps that have an alkaline pH that can inflame the skin, as this further prevents hydration. Instead, use hydrating skin cleansers that are gentler on the skin barrier and leave the skin soft and moisturised later. 4. Your Moisturiser Has A Missing Ingredient © Getty Images One could be using moisturisers with the wrong ingredients without knowing. Look for skin-repairing ceramides, which fill in the cracks between skin cells and help the skin heal itself. The key is to always look for products with skin-soothing ceramides and glycerin. 14. If you are a wrestling fan who's been following the matches and performances of some of the biggest names of the industry such as The Undertaker, The Rock and John Cena, you would have discovered lately that the kind of shows the World Wrestling Entertainment is producing lack the oomph they had maybe 10-20 years ago. The storylines are weak, the promotions aren't good enough and to be honest, there isn't as much wrestling involved in the company that used to thrive on it once. Seth Rollins did his finisher 10 times in this clip. 10 TIMES! And after every single one, the boos got louder. It's crazy but no one wanted him to win. Worst ending EVER. Horrible booking by @WWE @VinceMcMahon @WWEBrayWyatt #HIAC pic.twitter.com/pWRyHWOCoa — Jason (@RollingLoudVet) October 7, 2019 It is because of this reason that despite having big pay-per-views and a roster loaded with some of the most familiar faces in the wrestling world, the fans of the show are slowly moving away from the industry-giant and towards smaller but fresher brands. One of the upcoming companies in terms of having the biggest impact recently is the All Elite Wrestling or the AEW, that has not only managed to draw in former WWE superstars like Chris Jericho and Dean Amdrose but also their former commentators like Jim Ross. Chris Jericho is killing it tonight ð#AEW #AEWDynamite pic.twitter.com/utycbJqW5F — Get The Tables (@GetDaTables) October 24, 2019 With the financial backing of Pakistani-American billionaire Shahid “Shad” Khan and a television contract with one of the biggest networks in the US in the TNT, the AEW looks like it is here to stay. Under such circumstances, the 9x WWE Champion, Randy Orton threatened to leave the company and go join AEW after the WWE delayed in renewing the star's contract extension. View this post on Instagram tick tock tick tock @scottdawsonwwe @dashwilderwwe @thislukeharper @riddickmoss @americannightmarecody @chrisjerichofozzy @iameliaswwe A post shared by Randy Orton (@randyorton) on Oct 20, 2019 at 11:37pm PDT “Tick Tock Tick Tock [sic]” read the post, presumably Orton counting the number of days before he jumps ship. His friend and the current AEW Champion Chris Jericho - who's also tagged in the post, replied by saying “Send in a tape and some pix and I'll see what I Can do....” Whether it is Orton's cheeky way to getting a major raise ahead of his contract renewal with the WWE or does he actually want to leave the company and move on to AEW is still a mystery which will only be revealed in the coming weeks. However, the fact that a single man can throw his weight around the company and make Vince McMahon actually listen to his qualms says a lot about the current situation of the brand.
  15. Alright, if you think you've seen all the crazy PUBG Mobile addiction stories, then just wait till you hear this one. Ready for it? So, a 19-year-old woman from Ahmedabad wants to leave her husband to go live with, wait for it, her new-found PUBG gaming partner. She started playing PUBG a few months ago and got hooked to the game. There's nothing wrong with gaming, but this woman is seriously addicted. She called up 181 Abhayam women helpline seeking help to get a divorce. Falguni Patel, a coordinator at Abhayam said, “The girl called 181 and told us that she wants to be at a women's observation home as it is not working out with her husband nor she wanted to go to her parents' home as they had taken away her cell phone”. But when she was told that she won't be allowed to use her mobile phone inside the home, she dropped the idea. Later, during a counselling session, she revealed that she wanted to move in with her gaming buddy who she met in-game while playing PUBG. Apparently, Counsellor Sonal Sagathiya advised the woman to reconsider her decision. She was told that this 'man', who she met online, wasn't predictable and she was also advised to give her extreme step a thought as she had a baby to take care of. © PUBG Obviously, as a helpline, the Abhayam counselors didn't force a decision on the woman. They just advised her and gave her alternate options to consider. Well, we just hope she did the right thing and decided to stay back with her husband and take care of the kid. This kind of addiction isn't anything new, as people have literally gotten arrested and even lost their lives while playing this game. While the game developer Tencent is taking active measures to save kids from addiction, we think even adults need to keep their usage in check. Source - Indian Express
  16. Beating the heat can be really tough, especially when you know that the second you will step out of the house, you'll face the harsh heat. In this weather, breathing is a task. Surviving through the day is like surviving a long drawn out battle. But understand this, taking care of yourself, like wearing the right clothes and carrying water is crucial, however, taking care of your skin is equally important. The hot Summer winds can leave a deep tan on your face. They can even leave your hair brittle and dry and in the worst case scenario, an allergy that might need medical attention if your work involves long hours under the harsh rays of the sun. So, here are some products that you most definitely should apply before stepping out of the house: 1. Prep Your Skin With Sunscreen © nykaa Start by taking some sunscreen and dabbing it gently all over your face. A regular work week means long hours of exposure under the sun which means you need to prep your skin with sunscreen to save your face from the exposure of the harmful UV rays. A good SPF doesn't just prevent a burn or a tan but saves you from toxic UV that is known to cause skin cancer. Also, remember to use the sunscreen thirty minutes before you step out in the sun for maximum effect. 2. Carry A Balm Stick With You © nykaa The harsh rays of the sun don't just affect your skin. They also affect your lips. And if you don't take proper care of your lips, you might end up with chapped lips that look unattractive and unhealthy. To nix that, carry a lip balm that you can use whenever you feel dryness. 3. A Face Mist/ Face Wipes © nykaa © nykaa After long hours outside, if you find yourself, sweating profusely use a face mist or face wipes. It's not practical to constantly find a washroom to wash your face in situations like these. A face mist or wipes do the job and freshen up your face in seconds. 4. A Good Moisturizer © nykaa It's important to not just moisturize your face before stepping out in the sun but also your entire body or at least the parts that will be exposed in the sun. This will help fight the dryness. Keep your arms, elbows, knees, feet etcetra moisturized.
  17. One of the most celebrated cricket leagues around the world, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has covered almost half of its journey so far. With all teams fighting hard for a spot in the top four, the real game is yet to unfold. Currently, all the teams are playing with their full bench strength, but what if we remove most of the foreign players from the equation? Yes, as the ICC World Cup 2019 approaches, most of the big names such as David Warner, Chris Gayle, Johnny Bairstow will leave to play for their country. More or less, all the big teams except India and Australia are playing one or more bilateral ODI series before the World Cup. The main reason behind this is to bring the teams back into the groove ahead of the main tournament. While West Indies will be playing Ireland and Bangladesh from 5th May, England, on the other hand, will be hosting Pakistan from 5th May itself. All this comes down to many players including Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer who are currently playing in the IPL, leaving right away in the second half of the tournament. Here is how the teams could potentially stack up following the departure of their foreign players- 1. Kolkata Knight Riders View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kolkata Knight Riders (@kkriders) on Apr 19, 2019 at 9:32pm PDT Kolkata Knight Riders will be one of the most worst-affected teams in the final stages of the tournaments. They will have to depend solely on their local strength as players like Sunil Narine, Carlos Braithwaite, Joe Denly, Lockie Ferguson and many more will be leaving for national duty. The only ones that haven't been selected in the World Cup squad or the teams for upcoming tournaments will play in the IPL. Chris Lynn, Harry Gurney and Matt Kelly will be amongst the foreign players left with KKR. 2. Sunrisers Hyderabad View this post on Instagram A post shared by SunRisers Hyderabad (@sunrisershyd) on Apr 23, 2019 at 1:01am PDT Another team which will be bear the brunt of the World Cup preparation will be the SunRisers Hyderabad as their entire top order will collapse with the departure of Warner, Bairstow, Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson. Not only this, even their spin department will take a major blow when their Afghani duo of Mohammed Nabi and Rashid Khan along with Shakib-Al-Hasan will leave in the middle of the tournament. 3. Delhi Capitals View this post on Instagram A post shared by Delhi Capitals (@delhicapitals) on Apr 17, 2019 at 10:04pm PDT The table toppers at the moment, Delhi Capitals, could have been one of the least affected teams after the departure of its foreign players but unfortunately, their key bowler, Kagiso Rabada will also join the list. Playing for South Africa, Rabada will leave as soon as the national camp begins. Along with him, Colin Munro and Trent Boult will also be expected to leave in the middle of the season itself for the same reason. 4. Chennai Super Kings View this post on Instagram A post shared by Chennai Super Kings (@chennaiipl) on Apr 20, 2019 at 7:07am PDT The defending champions might not face that big a problem because most of the foreign players they own are not included in their national squad except for the South African duo of Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir along with Mitchell Santer and David Willey. Tahir would be their only worry as he is their leading wicket-taker and both main spinners leaving at the same time might cause some problems, but even for that, they do have Harbhajan Singh and Ravinder Jadeja as backups. 5. Rajasthan Royals View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rajasthan Royals (@rajasthanroyals) on Apr 23, 2019 at 4:30am PDT Rajasthan Royals should be expecting a lot of trouble comings its way, as a majority of foreign players are performing in their team and soon, even they would leave. While the new skipper, Steve Smith will leave for Australia, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler will depart to play against Pakistan at the beginning of May. In the end, they would be only left with Liam Livingstone, who has just played one game till now and Ashton Turner, who is currently going through a nightmare of a season. 6. Mumbai Indians View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mumbai Indians (@mumbaiindians) on Apr 20, 2019 at 7:16am PDT The three-time champions, Mumbai Indians will have to face the drums as most of their star-performing players would leave the MI camp as the World Cup comes closer. The first name will be Quinton de Kock, followed by Alzarri Joseph, Lasith Malinga, Adam Milne, Jason Behrendorff and Mitchell McClenaghan. The one player that is doubtful is Kieron Pollard who also might leave if selected in the West Indies World Cup Squad. It will be a real test for Rohit Sharma and his men to perform in the conditions in which they have never played before. 7. Royal Challengers Bangalore View this post on Instagram A post shared by Royal Challengers Bangalore (@royalchallengersbangalore) on Apr 19, 2019 at 9:00pm PDT The Virat Kohli-led RCB currently has a lot on stake, and with the WC approaching, things might get out of hand for them, as a few of their key players might leave early for national duty. The earliest one to leave will be Moeen Ali as England is playing Pakistan before the main tournament. The next in line would be Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, Dale Steyn, Colin de Grandhome and Tim Southee. Already being on the 8th spot, it will become even more difficult for Kohli and AB de Villiers to help their team do any good. 8. Kings XI Punjab View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kings XI Punjab (@kxipofficial) on Apr 22, 2019 at 3:12am PDT The lions of Punjab are among the lucky few teams that might not be adversely affected by this exit as most of their home players are doing well. The only sad news for Punjab fans would be the desertion of Chris Gayle and David Miller for their respective nationals teams. Apart from that, KXIP contains an awesome pool of young local talent including Mayank Agarwal and Sarfaraz Khan who will surely help the team in making it to the playoffs.
  18. The names Mufasa, Simba, or Timon, Pumba and Rafiki tug at our hearts in a way that is capable of evoking a sense of deep-rooted belongingness and nostalgia from the years gone by. 'The Lion King' happens to be one of the best-est animated movies ever broadcasted for kids in the history of television. Our childhood was made special by Mufasa's kindness and playfulness, Rafiki's wisdom and great comic timing, as well as Timon and Pumba's crazy antics, besides a lot of other things! Just moments ago, Disney released the trailer for the much-anticipated remake of the 'The Lion King', and here are the 8 moments from the new trailer that made our jaw hit the floor really hard: 1. Baby Simba In The Elephant Graveyard via GIPHY Simba's appearance at the Elephant Graveyard is a pivotal moment in the story. His one-on-one encounter with the notorious Scar and the threats that follow it are some of the bone-chilling experiences we all recall all too (un)easily. 2. We Finally See Scar via GIPHY The teaser had given us a glimpse of Mufasa's arch-rival and notorious brother Scar, who wants nothing more than to kill off Mufasa and take his place as the king of Pride Lands. And he is still as intimidating and loathsome as ever. 3. Baby Simba & Mufasa Watching Over The Pride Lands via GIPHY A scene that is etched into our memory forever. Mufasa and Simba standing atop the Pride Rock overlooking the Pride Lands, and Mufasa imparting his biggest lessons to young Simba and telling him about the ways of the world, is truly precious. 4. Mufasa About To Die via GIPHY The impending death scene is dark, and even without it being shown in the trailer, we all know we are in for major heartbreak that is going to hurt far worse than any other, because seeing a part of your childhood die on-screen isn't something any of us want to sit through all over again. 5. Timon & Pumba Mentoring Simba via GIPHY Timon and Pumba aren't just two characters in the story who have been created to bring in the element of comic relief to the plot. Timon and Pumba turn into Simba's closest guides and mentors who see him through some of his toughest times. 6. Simba & Nala Falling In Love via GIPHY With bad comes good, and this goodness melted all of our hearts at one point. Even today, not much has changed, from their first sighting to the promise, a glimpse is all it takes to see the affection Simba and Nala share for one another. 7. Rafiki Finding Out Simba Is Alive via GIPHY Can we ever get over that moment? Especially with a background score that gives us goosebumps and ushers in the true king of the Pride Lands. More than the celebration, it's the hope for the future of Pride Lands that seeps right through! 8. Simba Climbing Up Pride Rock & Taking His Place via GIPHY If stepping into your dad's shoes needs a representation, nothing else would have done it better. The moment is too dear and loaded for us to not give it the kind of attention and ear-numbing cheer it deserves.
  19. A processor is a smartphone's heart and soul, and without it, a smartphone is left crippled. Apple's A-series processors are considered to be the best of the lot and it's all thanks to TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company). The company has been Apple's only supplier of processors and the A12 Bionic chip is considered to be the most powerful chipset out there. © TSMC Not many processors have managed to deliver a performance similar to the A12. Huawei's Kirin 780 has managed to come close and Qualcomm has closed the gap with its new 7nm processors. However, none of them has actually managed to beat the A12 in terms of performance and reliability. TSMC has now announced a 5nm process technology that we will see soon on Apple devices. The new 5nm process has even more improved speeds and this is what the company had to say, “Compared with TSMC's 7nm process, its innovative scaling features deliver 1.8X logic density and 15% speed gain on an ARM Cortex-A72 core, along with superior SRAM and analog area reduction enabled by the process architecture.” Early numbers on an Arm Cortex-Are 72 core suggests that TSMC's new process will be able to deliver 1.8 times the density and 15 percent hike in clock speeds when compared to 7n. TSMC also says that the second generation of EUV will simplify the manufacturing process and “present excellent yield learning”. © Apple Now that the new process is ready, Apple can now move forward with producing a 5nm chipset that can power future iPhones and iPads. We could see it as early as 2020 which is not that far if we think about it. We won't be seeing the new processor on 2019 iPhones as these devices are expected to be powered with the 7nm+ process. © Qualcomm For Android devices, Qualcomm has managed to bring the 7nm process to its chipsets but has not been able to replicate the same performance as the A12. Now that the 5nm process is made available, we could see new Snapdragon chips debut shortly after Apple's new processor. TSMC is now considered the leader in chip manufacturing and dethroned the once market leader, Intel. Companies are gradually losing faith in Intel as TSMC's new process are now the preferred process.
  20. While the desi internet is going into a frenzied state over the porn ban in the country, Amsterdam, on the other hand, has decided to step up their game by opening a new X-rated cinema. Truly impressive! The cinema, which has been set up in Amsterdam's Red Light District De Wellen, aims to complement your X-rated movie-watching experience by pleasing all five of the senses with the help of built-in contraptions. © YouTube The cinema is fitted with 3D enabled screen, motion seats, air jets and water cannon that all move or fire appropriately. There's only one screen, and it can seat 18 paying customers in a single viewing. The cinema opened last week, screening films made in collaboration with Dutch porn star Kim Holland. Natalie, the owner of the establishment, says the experience will leave you feeling full of beans. While speaking with the Dutch Review, she said, “We are definitely not just going after tourists for our audience. It's funny because in Amsterdam even the Dutch people have an interest in breaking free from the norm.” © YouTube Natalie compares the experience of watching a movie in her cinema to visiting an amusement park. “Have you been to an amusement park? It's kind of like that,” she said. “Lots of things happen so fast when you're in the audience that when it's finally all over you're left energised,” she added further.
  21. IAF wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman needs no introduction. While our B-town celebs are flocked by fans for their fictional representational of characters on screen, Abhinandan Varthaman is a real-life national hero who not only braved all odds to survive an extremely difficult situation but has won the respect and hearts of everyone in the country. © Twitter The squadron leader was captured by Pakistani army last month and he returned 2 days later and was advised to be on a sick leave. However, he surprised everyone once again with his determination when he decided to join back his squadron in Srinagar. The IAF pilot chose to go back to serving his nation instead of staying home. People on social media are lauding him by calling him a lion who's returned for the kill and a hero who is back to serve his nation. He has already expressed his desire to go back to flying fighter jets and hence a medical board is supposed to review his health before a decision can be made on the same. He was captured by Pakistan after his MiG-21 Bison was shot during an aerial combat and even though he was captured and interrogated, he continued to choose his loyalty towards his motherland over saving himself after he refused to give away any sensitive information about India.
  22. Just like planning out your Holi party is on the top of your list of priorities right now, taking care of your skin is equally important. Holi colours can leave a deep hue on your face for days post-Holi. They can even leave your hair brittle and dry and in the worst case scenario, an allergy that might need medical attention. So, here are some products that you shouldn't leave your house without applying before having fun with colours: 1. Prepping Your Skin With Sunscreen Start by taking some sunscreen and dabbing it gently all over your face. Holi parties mean long hours of exposure under the sun which means you need to prep your skin with sunscreen to save your face from the exposure of the harmful UV rays. © Getty images 2. Lots Of Oil For a festival like Holi, It's best to lather your entire body and hair with a thick layer of oil. We recommend sesame oil and coconut oil but you can also apply any other effective oil that you're comfortable with. This additional layer acts as a barrier against all the strong colours and prevents them from seeping into your skin by preventing direct contact. © Getty images 3. Heavy Duty Balms Heavy duty balms like Vaseline add an extra layer of protection for your lips and for your face. If you have sensitive skin, you should definitely not step out of your house without wearing a heavy duty lip balm. © Getty images 4. Face Moisturizer Face moisturizers may seem inconsequential for this, but it's not. Your face always needs a good moisturizer to guard you against pimples, blisters, and other scars. However, use the moisturizer ten minutes after sunscreen so that everything blends in seamlessly. © Getty images
