  1. On last day of test, in-form Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq went out to bat but Sri Lankan spinners proved why they are lethal at home
  2. The eyes of the whole country were on Virat Kohli as he stepped on the field for his 100th Test match and joined the elite list of Indian legends. The majority of the crowd at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali had come to see the Indian superstar unleash himself on the Sri Lankan bowlers in his landmark Test appearance. A special for @imVkohli #VK100 @Paytm #INDvSL pic.twitter.com/HVmPEY7erw — BCCI (@BCCI) March 4, 2022 Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the stands were not filled to the capacity but when Kohli walked in to bat after the dismissal of Mayank Agarwal, the whole stadium went berser and the supporters greeted him with a grand ovation. Nobody was disappointed with Agarwal’s dismissal, all they cared for was Kohli and they kept chanting his names until he occupied the crease and got ready to face the delivery. .@imVkohli all set for his 100th Test.#VK100 pic.twitter.com/yGwKeP0Fvo — BCCI (@BCCI) March 4, 2022 With it being his 100th Test match, the expectations from Kohli were sky high as people hoped to see him end his two-year-long century drought and breach the three-figure mark for the first time since November 2019. After a shaky start, Kohli got into his groove and started playing shots all over the park. Having smashed five boundaries in his 45-run knock, he was looking in an ominous touch. © Reuters Many thought he would make it big this time around and treat all his fans with his 71st international hundred. He was completely deceived, against the run of play, by a Lasith Embuldeniya special delivery that spun away, missed the outside edge, and clipped the top of off-stump. The whole stadium was distraught at Kohli’s dismissal but it was skipper Rohit Sharma’s reaction that became a talking point on social media. Kohli was batting so well that nobody expected him to get out and Rohit’s reaction showed exactly that. © Twitter/BCCI As soon as the ball clipped the stumps, Rohit, who was standing inside the room, held his head with both hands and his facial expression was enough to tell how disappointed he was with Kohli’s departure. He didn’t react animatedly on his own wicket that he did on his predecessor’s fall and that reflected the special bond both these players have and how much they care for each other. The way Rohit reacted to Kohli’s wicket just shows how much they admire each other’s game and want each other to succeed like true friends. View the full article

  4. England all-rounder Ben Stokes is among the big names of world cricket who will not be going under the hammer at the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru this weekend. Given their ability to affect the match with both bat and ball, the all-rounders have always caused a huge stir in the auction, with teams not shying away from splashing huge amounts of money to acquire their services. A CENTURY with a SIX for @benstokes38. What an innings this has been from Stokes.#Dream11IPL pic.twitter.com/JkUmK6M6GA — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) October 25, 2020 Stokes has always been among one of the highest paid cricketers in the tournament. His previous contract with Rajasthan Royals was worth Rs 12.5 crore and before that he was signed by Rising Pune Supergiant for a whopping Rs 14.5 crore. For any player, it’s a huge amount of money and it’s not easy to just let go of it. Given his skillset, there was no doubt that the 30-year-old cricketer would have attracted huge bids had he entered the auction. Jordan with the much-needed breakthrough for #KXIP. I wouldn’t be fair on any team I signed up for if I wasn’t totally focused on things out there,” Stokes wrote. Like his other teammates, the fast-bowling all-rounder could have easily played a major part of IPL 2022 as England don’t have any international fixtures lined up. But he decided to make himself unavailable so that he could play in the County Championship and get back into the groove before England’s upcoming series against New Zealand and South Africa. © Twitter ICC “The Test team is where it is at for me right now and I want to give as much of my time and energy to that as possible. I think the Test side will benefit more from me playing a number of County Championship matches this summer and getting myself as best prepared as possible for the challenges of New Zealand and South Africa.” In this day and age when so many players are choosing franchise cricket over their country, what Stokes has done is like a breath of fresh air. After all, we don’t see many players doing that, especially with so much money at stake. © Twitter ICC Hailing him as one true role model, the fans felt that the Indian players also need to learn from him and start focusing on playing domestic cricket, especially those who are out of form and want to make a comeback to the team. Where people are skipping national duties for ipl he prioritized test cricket — Ruchika Mehta (@MRuchika15) February 8, 2022Recently, there was a huge debate on social media when all-rounder Hardik Pandya decided to skip the Ranji Trophy matches ignoring Sourav Ganguly’s advice who wanted him to play domestic cricket and prove his match fitness. Mind you, no one is asking players to skip the IPL but it’s time that they get their priorities right. View the full article
  5. Indian skipper Virat Kohli is quite animated, he is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. We all know that. There are countless people who love the passion with which he plays his cricket. And, at the same time, there are several people who don’t like him showing too much aggression on the field and being in the face of the opposition all the time. As much as his batting, Kohli keeps making headlines for his on-field antics from time to time. Being the start player that he is, everything that he does on the field becomes a huge talking point. His remarks in the stump mic on the Day 3 of the Cape Town Test have left people divided on social media, with some justifying his comments and others ridiculing it as ‘unacceptable behaviour’. Former cricketers from across the globe have described Kohli’s behaviour as immature and slammed him for attacking the official broadcasters. Going a step ahead than everybody else, former England captain Michael Vaughan has urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to intervene and take strict action against India's Test skipper. Speaking on Fox Sports, the England legend opined that under no circumstances a player can be allowed to behave in the manner that the Indian leader did and go unpunished. He urged the world cricket governing council to take the matter in its hands and hand him a severe punishment in order to teach him a lesson for life. View this post on Instagram “You can't act like that whether you're frustrated or not. We all have our moments on the field where we think something is going against you. You absolutely have the right to feel frustrated as you're a human being. But when you act like that as a captain and a leader of our game, the ICC have to step in. They can't allow that to happen. He needs to be fined.. potentially be suspended,” Vaughan said on Fox Cricket. “Decisions go with you, they go against you, that didn't go the way they think it should have gone. Virat Kohli is a legend of the game, but that's not the way to act, that is not the way to act in a game of Test match cricket. The ICC have to stamp this down, they have to stamp down on the Indian side, you can't get away with talking down the stump microphone like Ravi Ashwin has done and the Indian captain has done,” he further added. Kohli and Indian players on the stump mic #SAvIND pic.twitter.com/fXs6x8RFtD — Xolani (@ThatXolani) January 13, 2022 Kohli’s reaction came after a controversial DRS call that gave South Africa skipper Dean Elgar an early reprieve off Ravichandran Ashiwn. Not just the Indian skipper, several other players, including Ashwin and KL Rahul, lost their cool as well and openly accused the official broadcasters of rigging the ball-tracking technology and their comments were caught on the stump mic. Several Indian players are most likely to be reprimanded by the match referee for how they behaved throughout this series finale. Given that it was a bi-lateral series, it would be a huge surprise if the ICC takes the matter in its own hands. View the full article
  6. The two alpha-males of Indian cricket not looking each other in the eye. Stories like these have made headlines since time immemorial in Indian cricket. In the 80s, it was Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev and in the 90s it was Mohammed Azharuddin and Navjot Singh Siddhu. In the last decade, the focus shifted to Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni and in recent years it’s Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. © Reuters A few of these stories did have some truth but the majority of them were nothing but fantasy. No matter how deep we go in the history books, there is no end to such cooked up stories. Kohli and Rohit are two pillars of Indian cricket and have contributed immensely in helping Team India scale new heights. But sadly some people just can’t digest that, all they want is to convince people that something's not right between them. © Reuters Kohli, on multiple occasions, has reiterated that there is nothing wrong between him and Rohit and they both are fully committed to serving Indian cricket for as long as possible. Before leaving for South Africa, the Indian Test skipper once again rubbished all reports of any rifts between him and Rohit and said that he was “tired” of repeating the same thing again and again. © Reuters Maybe Kohli should change the way he handles such questions during a press conference. Perhaps take a lesson from the great MS Dhoni, who also came across similar questions about possible rifts on various occasions throughout his career. After Kohli’s recent press conference, an old video of Dhoni shutting down a scribe for asking about an alleged fight between Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan with an iconic response started doing rounds on social media. This is how dhoni answered when someone asked is there a rift between Dhawan and kohli Next time when someone asks kohli about Rohit , he should answer like this #viratkholi pic.twitter.com/dBuoji6jqu — Sandy (@Scrummaaster) December 15, 2021 During India’s tour of Australia back in 2014, there were rumours that Kohli and Dhawan were involved in a fight in the dressing room and things became so worse that they both had to be separated from each other by the then-team director Ravi Shastri. Instead of getting angry over the stupid question, the wicketkeeper-batter gave a rather sarcastic answer and agreed that indeed was the case and said: “Actually that was the case. Virat used a knife. He stabbed Shikhar, who just recovered out of that, then we pushed him to bat.” © Reuters Listening to Dhoni’s response, the whole room burst out laughing and they got the point he was trying to make. “These are all stories. Marvel, maybe Warner Bros or somebody should pick up this and make a nice movie out of it. “If somebody from the team has actually told you this, it’d be interesting if you could give us the name. Because his imagination is really brilliant and he should be working for one of the movie companies. © Reuters “He doesn’t deserve to be in our dressing room, because he has entirely created something that has not been there at all. Stuff like that makes good stories for the tabloid and maybe it helps them sell it. As far as the reality is concerned, there’s been nothing like that,” he added. Perhaps next time when someone asks Kohli if there is any rift between him and his Test deputy, he should also come up with an answer like this. That would be fun to watch. Wouldn’t it? 7. Pakistan should also say no to coal-fired power plants as it will represent clear stance and political will of the state to genuinely reduce carbon emissions
  8. After suffering a narrow defeat to Australia, Pakistan’s dreams of becoming only the second team after the West Indies to win two T20 World Cup titles came to an end. However, the Men In Green should be mighty pleased with the way they performed throughout this campaign. They were the only team that reached the knock-out stage of the tournament winning all their group games. The Babar Azam-led side also broke the nearly two decade old jinx as they defeated their arch-rival India for the first time in World Cup history after 12 failed attempts. Well played, #Pak You should be extremely proud of your campaign. Plenty of positives. But the people in Pakistan must also remember that nobody drops a catch on purpose. It’s the better team on the night that wins the match. What needs fixing is your mindset. #T20WorldCup — Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) November 11, 2021 They also defeated a strong New Zealand side, who finished second behind them but reached the final after beating the reigning 50-over world champions England in a nail-biting contest. Throughout their campaign, the Pakistani players, who came into the tournament after tough last two months, which saw New Zealand and England calling off their tour to their shores, showed great grit and determination and made the whole world take note of their talent. Later, it was revealed that Rizwan had spent the last two nights in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to chest infection and was released from the hospital on the day of the final. View this post on Instagram “Mohammad Rizwan developed a severe chest infection on November 9th after which he was admitted to the hospital. He spent two nights in the ICU recovering,” the Pak team doctor Najeeb Somroo told reporters after the match. “He made an incredible recovery and was deemed fit before the match. We can see his great determination and tenacity that shows his spirit of performing for the country. And we can see how he performed today." “The decision regarding his health was made by the whole team management. This was regarding the morale of the whole team and therefore we kept it within the team,” he added. Skipper Babar Azam also heaped praise on his opening partner calling him a “team man” and describing his knock as “exceptional". Babar Azam regarding Mohammad Rizwan "He's a team man. The way he played today, it was just exceptional. When I saw him, he was a bit down, but when I asked him about how he was and his health, he said, no, I will play" #T20WorldCup #PAKvAUS — Saj Sadiq (@SajSadiqCricket) November 11, 2021 “Definitely he's a team man. The way he played today, it was exceptional,” Babar said at the post-match press conference. “When I saw him, he was a little bit down, but when I asked him about his health he said, no, I will play. And the way he played today he showed that he's a team man. And I am very confident about his attitude and his performance,” said the Pak skipper of his partner-in-crime Rizwan. Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to play down the issue of mental health but the fact that players complained of the issue after losing the match sounded more like an excuse more than an actual justification. © Twitter/Virat Kohli As much as the BCCI was responsible for not providing them with enough rest, the players also played an equally important role in making their calendar compact. With the IPL being a domestic tournament, the players had the choice to withdraw their name but they didn’t, prioritising IPL money over country. Even legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev slammed the players for choosing IPL’s big paycheck over playing for the country. © Twitter/Kohli Unlike Indian players and team management, the Pakistani support staff decided to keep Rizwan’s illness news to themselves so that it doesn’t affect their preparations ahead of their big knock-out match. The Indian players must learn from Rizwan that no matter how much money that you make playing in domestic leagues, respect is only earned by doing well for your country in international cricket. 9. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave the whole country a huge surprise by announcing former India skipper MS Dhoni will join Team India as a mentor for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Bringing an experienced leader like him into the dressing room for the marquee event was described as a masterstroke by many cricket pundits around the world. Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar, who is one of the most respected names in world cricket, was also delighted with the news but at the same time, he was worried that the move could backfire if Dhoni and head coach Ravi Shastri clashed over issues like tactics and team selection. © Twitter/Ravi Shastri So, everyone was waiting to see how Shastri would react to Dhoni’s inclusion as a mentor of the team. Contrary to Gavaskar’s apprehensions, the 59-year-old former all-rounder welcomed the BCCI’s move with open arms, saying he “couldn't have asked for anything better”. When asked “The team couldn’t have asked for anything better. The BCCI has thought this out extremely well and put the plans in place. Having MS Dhoni in the dressing-room and the dugout will be a huge shot in the arm for the boys. It’s a great move,” Shastri told the Times of India. “We all know what experience he brings to the table. What more can the team ask for? When I first heard from the secretary I was absolutely thrilled at the idea. In the end, it's about India’s aspirations, not individuals. In that, we should look to put our best foot forward,” he added. Gavaskar was appointed as the team consultant in 2004 but he was not welcomed by the then head coach John Wright, who felt insecure about his own position in the team, and the ‘Little Master’ assumed Dhoni might also face the same issue as he did more than a decade ago. There shouldn't be any ego clash, as it's a short term arrangement — Saransh (@CricSaransh) September 10, 2021 However, Shastri’s comments are a lesson for Gavaskar that the team dynamics is completely different than what it used to be back in the day. Most of the senior players in the current squad made their debut under Dhoni’s leadership and have immense respect for the former captain. © Reuters Not to forget, Dhoni has only retired from international cricket but is still active in the Indian Premier League , where he leads Chennai Super Kings. He has no interest in coaching the team, so there shouldn’t be any clash of egos because it’s a short-term arrangement for a one-off tournament. View the full article
  10. When only 64% of women say they had an orgasm in their last sexual encounter, and a whopping 91% of men had it their way, we know there is a problem. In fact, some researchers peg the orgasm inequality at a far, far higher number. Porn, mainstream media, and movies comprise most Gen Z & Millennials' source of information when it comes to ***. But clearly, men have been doing it all wrong if most women don't even orgasm. So behold, all men! As the world celebrates female orgasm day earlier this week, Skore has decided to make you more ‘cliterate’! Presenting The Cliteracy Drive - an initiative to educate Indian men about the female clitoris - aka the house of female orgasms. This drive will tell you everything you need to know about pleasure, stimulation, and how to have a great fu**ing night! But, first, what is a clitoris, really? We all know it as an organ that gives us sexual pleasure. But do you really know where it is? Well, according to a 2013 research report, 44% of men said that they can’t find a clitoris. Or even if they find one, they are not quite sure of what to do with it in order to make a woman orgasm. Shocking, right? So, we decided it’s time to spread ‘Cliteracy’ and have put together 5 fun (yet informative) facts about the clitoris that will help you navigate through the body of your lady love! Read on friends, this will definitely come in handy! A clitoris is two times more sensitive than a *****With over 8000 nerve endings, the clitoris is touted to be two times more sensitive than the *****! Giphy It’s not a button, it’s an iceberg! We didn’t say it, artist Sophia Wallace did, in her piece called ‘Cliteracy’ in 2015. The clitoris is much bigger than most people think and only a quarter of it is visible. A clitoris literally exists to make a woman feel goodUnlike a *****, the only function of a clitoris is to give you orgasms. No reproduction, no urination - no other use. Just pleasure, friend. Just pleasure. Over 75% of women need clitoral stimulation to achieve orgasmWhile there is more than one kind of orgasm in women, they are much harder to achieve as opposed to clitoral stimulation. And Skore has just the right product for this. Skore’s Oh! Pleasure Gel has been specially formulated to increase the sensitivity of her intimate areas and intensify her climax. Just a few drops and you’re ready to go. Giphy Female orgasms last three times more than male orgasmsClitoral stimulation can give you an orgasm that can last for over 30 seconds. Contrary to that, a male orgasm lasts for not more than 10 seconds tops. And did you know, when it comes to *** or foreplay, they say that wetter is better? So, to up the game in your bedroom, it’s time to step out of the box. Oh! Pleasure Gel truly ticks all the boxes. Are you ready to up your bedroom game? View the full article
  11. Just like how Ross on Friends always raises his concern when Rachel or other friends speak wrong English or make grammatical errors, there are many 'Grammar Nazis' who don't take a moment before criticising others. Globally, most of the population speaks English to explain their perspectives and ideas, but it's often forgotten that English is not the official international mother tongue and that it's not mandatory for everyone to be an expert in it. It has got nothing to do with intelligence, and not knowing every bit about the widely-spoken language is sometimes acceptable. © Netflix However, some Sesquipedalians make sure to point out mistakes when the language is spoken incorrectly. While it's okay to give an opinion when asked, it's not a great idea to 'school' others unless required. The latest example of an English-stickler is that of Minimalist co-founder, whose name also went in Forbes 30 Under 30, Sahil Vaidya. © LinkedIn/Sahil Vaidya Sahil took to Linkedin and wrote, "When someone says “Your screen is getting stucked, I cant able to see it”, you wonder what to fix first: the screen or their grammar." Take a look. © LinkedIn/Sahil Vaidya Even though it was meant to be a joke, the co-founder received a lot of backlash. Users on Linkedin and even on Twitter were quick to respond to his 'classist joke' and called him out for being privileged. The post looks like it was for someone whose English speaking skills are plausibly not up to the mark. However, letting the world know about it, in a mocking way, seemed like a bad idea, especially on a job-searching platform. This one post, attracted a countless number of responses, with people pointing out Vaidya's attitude. Some went as far as to point out mistakes in his post itself. © LinkedIn/Sahil Vaidya No doubt, his comment received a lot of ire. Arti Gupta, the co-founder of Stylenook asked him to 'fix his judgement' while pointing errors. She mentioned, "Jokes apart - it's easy to poke fun at other people's grammar. I would understand if this were a remark about a marketing tagline, but it is a jibe at someone trying to do their job and communicating clearly. As long as communication is lucid, in our time and age of a diverse and global economy, one is better off leaving judgment at the door." The post also made its way on Twitter and within no time, everyone started criticising Vaidya. This guy got schooled on Linkedin and how!! pic.twitter.com/G57tRYBO68 — Sritika Dhar ♌ (@Sritika_) July 19, 2021 One user wrote, "It's a subconscious subservience to colonialism and the western culture that is still residual in our psyche which automatically establishes an intelligence hierarchy through fluency of English or lack thereof. Unfortunately, none bats an eye if the vernacular grammar is wrong." while another one said, "Looks like in his haste to be in the 30 under 30, he skipped some Grammar classes himself!" Take a look at the raging responses. The biggest grammatical mistake lies in the last part of sentence "the screen or their grammer" ...it should be " the screen or his grammar"... because 'Someone' is a Singular entity..not Plural — devarshi shukla (@devarshi9283) July 21, 2021I’ve been working with Spanish, Chinese, French, Danish colleagues (including top mgmt) and their grammar is not that great. But in this country, the prime metric to judge intelligence is the fluency and immaculate grammar. — Vishal sharma (@Vishal_VS4) July 20, 2021It's a subconscious subservience to colonialism and the western culture that is still residual in our psyche which automatically establishes an intelligence hierarchy through fluency of English, or lack thereof. Unfortunately, none bats an eye if vernacular grammar is wrong. — Anik Mukherjee (@anikmukherjee93) July 20, 2021Looks like in his haste to be in the 30 under 30, he skipped some Grammar classes himself! — Trupz (@trupz) July 20, 2021Wrong takeaway. The point is, correcting someone's grammar and English proficiency is a terrible way to be judgemental and lord it over someone, esp someone for whom English is a second language. — somebody nobody and mad (@nefertitillated) July 20, 2021These 30 under 30 and 40 under 40s are a total waste — Sahil Sayed (@sahilsayed85) July 20, 2021 Some even thought Forbes 30 Under 30 was a joke... 12. Father! What's the first thing that comes rushing to your mind when you hear this word? For some, it is their first bike ride, for some it could be the first bicycle and for few it could be even 'papa ki daant' if anything goes wrong! Whatever it might be, the fact remains that fathers are special. In a world where fatherhood has become an increasingly important and sensitive moment in most men’s lives, let’s see what some of our favourite celebrities have to say about their relationship with their fathers: 1. Farhan Akhtar View this post on Instagram “When you really love and respect a human being then it is very difficult to point out one best memory. I feel fortunate that he is my father. I have learned a lot from him about life, work, relationships, culture, etiquettes and languages. I will keep learning from him, so I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be my father.” 2. Aparshakti Khurana View this post on Instagram “My father means everything to me and especially all my work ethics come from him. All the discipline which Ayushmann and I are trying to follow at work comes from him. He is a workaholic. We have never seen him taking off from work. I think that is what keeps us going as well. I think he is busier than me (laughs) and I think that is what brings out the best in us.” 3. Ali Fazal View this post on Instagram “My father always had a habit of making sure everyone got cards even if it wasn't a festival or an occasion that called for it. I learned the art of writing post cards and letters from him. I've barely spent time with my father in the years ive lived. So i cherish the few where he tried his best to teach me things - the short versions compressed in school holidays when I'd visit him. I'll never forget the effect that a personalized card has. You can’t achieve that with emails and fonts on the web.” 4. Shahid Kapoor View this post on Instagram “Initially, he was strict, but that was 15 years ago. He is a strong-minded person, which I admire a lot. Over the years, we have come to understand one another a lot more. Emotionally, we have become very close and when you become emotionally intimate with someone, you can’t be scared of them. The fear is of only hurting them.” 5. Arjun KapoorTo the coolest Kapoor in our family. The original big daddy. I love movies because I saw them thru his eyes... A family man, a true friend & a complete man’s man.. someone who puts others above himself always.. He is a staunch supporter of my work and is my greatest role model. While he has always let me make my own decisions, he has also given me constructive feedback and suggestions. My dad is someone who always motivates me to become a better person in life. Here is wishing him a very happy Father's Day". 7. Hrithik Roshan View this post on Instagram “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn’t miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. .Love you Dad.” We’re glad that these Bollywood celebs have such rich memories with their fathers. Goes to show their importance in our lives! View the full article

  14. Rahul Dravid, who practically has zero haters in the world of cricket and outside of it as well, who is continued to be recognised as India’s finest in the longest format of the game, who is the primary example of the “gentleman” in the “gentlemen’s game”, made his international debut today, exactly 25-years ago. However, based on the kind of legendary status he has achieved and still enjoys two and a half decades later, it is difficult to imagine how he got dismissed for just three runs and had to walk back to the pavilion after just four deliveries. Walking to the middle of the Singapore Cricket Club stadium after skipper Mohammad Azharuddin got run out at 9, Dravid was expected to make an impact from the first match itself. However, it took the brilliant Muttiah Muralitharan just three deliveries to figure out the 23-year old and on the fourth ball, Dravid’s wicket was his. A disappointed and quiet Dravid took off his helmet, walked back towards the Indian dressing room with his eyes fixated on the ground. The times were different. Dravid was the one with a tiny moustache while Muralitharan, clean-shaven. #OnThisDay exactly 25 years ago, Rahul Dravid made his ODI debut. Batting at No.4, he was dismissed for 3. He eventually ended with 1⃣0⃣7⃣6⃣8⃣ ODI runs for India, only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly when he retired. pic.twitter.com/261yUQoWWj — Wisden India (@WisdenIndia) April 3, 2021 Over the next 25 years, whatever Dravid did both, as a player and a coach, continues to leave an impact on the Indian cricket fraternity and fans are well aware of it. The various talented cricketers he raised during his time as the head coach of the U-19 and India A teams like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Prithvi Shaw are set to become the future of the Men in Blue. His time as the head of the National Cricket Academy right now, has also made the Bengaluru institution more than just another “rehabilitation centre” for the players, it has truly evolved into a valuable asset that prepares promising athletes to get ready for the high level of competition this game has to offer. INTERVIEW: We’ve managed to get better results by not stressing on outcomes: Rahul Dravid The India A coach reflects on the successful tour of the UK and his behind-the-scenes role to keep the feeder line bursting with talent.https://t.co/vunvQ1tOKb pic.twitter.com/yqPSyFaej5 — BCCI (@BCCI) July 22, 2018 Very often, we let some sort of an initial hurdle become the reason to give up on our dreams. When things look to go against the way we’d imagined and everything seems to be falling apart, that is when it is important to remember the reason you started walking on this path. The ‘WHY’ becomes of paramount importance. 'Why do you wish to do whatever it is that you are doing?' ask yourself this and look for an answer, within. It is easy to lose hope… everyone does that. But do you know what happens to those who hang on to their dreams? They make them into reality. Don’t ignore Rahul Dravid’s failures, embrace them, just like the failures of your own. 16. In another inspiring story with a shining example of breaking the glass ceiling, a transgender person in Bangladesh debuted on national television for the first time as a news reporter. Tashnuva Anan Shishir delivered a three-minute news bulletin on the private Boishakhi TV channel. Shishir says she discovered in her early teens that she was trapped inside a man’s body and was later sexually assaulted and bullied for years. © BCCL She said, “The bullying was so unbearable I attempted suicide four times. My father stopped talking to me for years.” “When I couldn’t cope with it anymore, I left home… I couldn’t stand the neighbours telling my father about how I should act or walk in a masculine way,” she added. She expressed that she fled from her home and lived alone in the capital of Dhaka and also lived in the central city of Narayanganj. © BCCL There, she also underwent hormone therapy, changed many jobs and worked for charities, and also acted in theatres. She did all this while she was studying for her studies. In January, she also became the first person to study for a Master’s in Public Health at the James P Grant School of Public Health in Dhaka. Shishir’s broadcast on Monday was for International Women’s Day. Shishir said that she went for auditions on other channels as well but only Boishakhi was brave enough to hire her for the job. © Twitter “I tried to think of stage dramas I’ve performed in and follow the techniques I’ve learned there. But I was shaking inside,” she said. “I don’t want any members of the (transgender) community to suffer. I don’t want them to live a miserable life. I hope they will find work according to their skills,” she added. This is a great step towards change for the transgender community across the world and especially, in South Asia.
