An intense, gripping, and powerful story of the truth behind the functioning of the newsrooms - this is what you can expect from Kartik Aaryan’s latest outing Dhamaka. Director Ram Madhvani, who has directed Neerja and series Aarya in the past, gave powerful stories to both Sonam Kapoor and Sushmita Sen respectively. Both the projects turned out to be game-changers for the actors and he has done the same for Kartik. Kartik Aaryan was just an ordinary person looking for his place in the industry and like any other outsider, he followed the conventional path and moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams of acting. He hasn’t been an overnight success and it’s been a roller-coaster ride as he has had to face rejection, stay in rented accommodations with other flatmates, and the likes during his days of struggle. Kartik marked his debut with Luv Ranjan's Pyaar Ka Punchnama and he was stereotyped as a guy who can deliver monologues and only do movies like the Punchnama series. He was even targeted for the misogynistic approach of the franchise. But, he also proved he can play a character with an emotional arch in movies like Love Aaj Kal, Silvat, and Akaash Vani. I knew this is the script that would allow me to explore a different side of me as an actor. I can’t wait to transport myself to Ram sir’s world and see his vision translate on the big screen. This is also the first time I am collaborating with Ronnie and RSVP, and I am looking forward to this journey,” Kartik said in a statement. His direction is restricted in one room but he has managed to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. 3: The Angst Of A Common Man View this post on Instagram If you have watched A Wednesday, Ram Madhvani has also tried to follow the same template. Without giving away any spoilers, we would want to tell you that movie does focus on how a common man gets affected by the political power-play and how politicians attract people to vote them in power with their cobweb of lies. 4: A Climax That Will Stay With YouKartik’s Dhamaka has very well managed to leave a cathartic effect on us as the climax will stay with you and make you question the functioning of government and if media is actually ethical. The climax does beautifully sum up the movie and as media personnel, we surely relate to the loopholes in the news system. 5: Camera Work View this post on Instagram When you are restricted in one room, you can’t leave loose ends when it comes to the camera work. It’s one of a kind movie as the film was shot in 10 days using multiple cameras. The camera work is done so accurately that you do get the sense of the tension in the newsroom. However, lately, even though his films make a lot of money at the box-office, the audience has been largely disappointed as there is a lack of logic. Content is king these days and still, we find many illogical films making money. Salman Khan has often played toxic ‘awara aashiq’ roles that were liked back then but make us cringe now. So, here we go- Tere Naam The character which Salman Khan is playing in the film has a bad temper and a lot of behavioural issues as well. But, no matter what, remember how every other guy rocked the Radhe haircut? Radhe harassed Nirjara in a really terrible way and most girls today would have never fallen for a guy like him. He was extremely toxic and stalked her as if he owned her. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam This is a film that is never going to get old and stars Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgn in the lead role. Now, this film will definitely make you cry if you have ever fallen in true love and that’s how exactly we perceived this one. As a kid we enjoyed watching this film; however, Salman Khan’s character in this film was nothing more than a guy that every girl’s mom warns them about. Hum Apke Hai Koun Salman Khan falls in love with Madhuri Dixit in the film. However, fate has other plans when Madhuri’s sister unexpectedly dies and she is expected to marry her brother-in-law. Salman Khan loves her but both of them don’t fight enough to stay together and it’s just disappointing to watch. Love If you haven’t watched this film, you need to watch this one! The film’s story revolves around how Prithvi and Maggie fall in love and decide to get married but Maggie’s mother, looking at Prithvi's past, says no to him. Internet Explorer is finally going to meet its demise after 25 long years because nobody really liked to use it in the first place. The company announced this week that it will end support of the browser on June 15th 2022. © Reuters Microsoft’s final nail in the coffin comes after it started to promote other products like the Edge browser and removing features from the ancient internet browser. The company gradually removed features from the explorers and even removed support from its other products like ‘Teams’. Other apps like Microsoft 365 will also no longer work with IE from this year. The Internet Explorer was once the most used web browser, however, its market share fell below 50% due to competition from Google’s Chrome and Mozilla’s Firefox. What’s surprising is that Microsoft finally acknowledged in a press release that IE is slow and no longer practical for or compatible with many modern web tasks. The company also confirmed that IE is far less secure than modern browsers. © Reddit Microsoft is already looking to the future though thanks to its latest browser that is based on Google's open-source Chrome code. The Edge browser has gained more traction in recent years than Internet Explorer did in the past few years. Microsoft usually funded IE with Windows, however, it is unclear at the moment if the company will stop bundling the browser with future Windows PCs and laptops. "We are announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge," said Sean Lyndersay, Microsoft's program manager for Edge. "Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications.” © Reuters The only reason why Microsoft has kept Internet Explorer alive for so long is that many businesses still depend on it for compatibility reasons. However, Microsoft Edge now supports an IE mode which will make it easier for corporations to make the transition. Growing up, I was as much of a Big Bang Theory fan as anyone else and had binged a lot of the seasons of the show when I’d first discovered it, despite how a lot of the plot points just generally made me super uncomfortable. But hey, repression is a thing, and I hadn’t learnt to be critical of the media I consumed by then! © Chuck Lorre Productions Having unintelligently spent hours upon hours watching a show that at best mocked the nerds it was aimed towards and worse, excused everything from sexism and harassment to the very stereotypes we seek to escape from for the sake of laughs, it’s safe to say that I have a complicated relationship with the Big Bang Theory. Still, after much thought and plenty of outside consultation, I’ve narrowed down 5 things that really ruined the experience for me (and a lot of others): 1. How they all treat each other © Chuck Lorre Productions From the beginning of the show, the characters are shown constantly taking digs at each other over everything from their habits, their fears, their inability to get a woman, or all the awful stuff that would generally lead a good friend to recommend seeing a therapist. Like when they sit around and gleefully read out mean tweets about Sheldon after he taught a class, and are more than happy to share the content of those tweets when Sheldon gets home with no sensitivity whatsoever. I’m sorry, are they actually supposed to be friends? Or… like, any scene at all where Howard mocks Raj’s Indian accent. Which is about half the show. 2. Speaking of that, how genuinely racist Howard actually behaves towards Raj Elephant and curry? Really? Wow, I’d never heard that one before, super original, Howard. Imagine your real-life friend saying that to you… I’d be sooner ending that friendship, thanks. 3. Plus, the show is just one big sexist joke, weakly disguised by painting the nerds as people who are somehow incapable of understanding basic human decency © Chuck Lorre Productions Consider this wildly inappropriate scene with Sheldon and Amy basically slut-shaming Penny for the people she may have slept with. Even with the laugh track, it’s easy to see how uncomfortable Penny is by the topic — but her pleas to change the topic of conversation are, of course, outright ignored. And how did anyone think this entire episode with Sheldon and Alex was ever okay? To be completely honest with you, this had been about the point I realised I couldn’t ignore what my subconscious had been telling me. ...yup, he called a black woman a slave! 4. The way the show enabled and excused contempt for and harassment of women is astonishing to me — and how it passed by most of us even more so Case in point, when Howard constantly objectifies Penny and makes unwanted advances, gets called out for being creepy AF and Penny is the one who somehow ends up apologising and consoling the guy getting his ego bruised. And he STILL doesn’t get the memo! Penny punches him for trying to kiss her against her will and all he has to say is that she’s halfway to sleeping with him just due to pity… Do you know what happens to men like that in real life? A court case. And I’ll let you judge this one yourself: I’m sorry, what did he just say about Marie Curie? 5. The laugh trackNow, before you say it, I know the show’s a sitcom and it’s supposed to have a live audience and a laugh track. But this show is just built around saying mean one-liners to each other and adding a laugh track to demonstrate that it’s all in good fun. For example, watch this scene without the laugh track: Yeah, without the fake audience to tell you what you’re supposed to find funny here, it kinda just looks like a group of guys bullying their female friend, especially considering the incredibly demeaning way Raj is talking to her throughout. But, of course, that’s brushed off as a personality quirk. And when it’s not one-liners, it’s kind of difficult to grasp what exactly we’re laughing at… that they’re able to speak? That they’re characters who like science? There’s something about them laughing at nothing that simply grates at the audience’s nerves, especially once it’s pointed out to you. Not to mention how being a nerd actually seems to be the butt of the joke in the entirety of the show, and how women are painted as “anti-geek” for some reason, when many women are, in fact, involved in geek culture themselves. © Chuck Lorre Productions All of this is not to say that I absolutely hate the show, even though I would be very reasonable in doing so. I do believe that things somewhat get better in the later seasons, though not perfect. © Chuck Lorre Productions Still, I would like for the show to not be equated as the epitome of nerd culture, and for the people who love it (as well as those who wrote it) to examine the kinds of stereotypes and harmful portrayals it has helped solidify in people’s minds over the years. Indian Idol comes with its own share of music-infused nostalgia. It was literally a treat to the ears, fresh format and visual appeal working in its favour. For those of us who had been musically inclined growing up, Sonu Nigamâs Sa Re Ga Ma Pa was the only other reality show we held close to our hearts before this. © Zee TV But Indian Idol changed all of that by becoming a new-age reality show that âworked differentlyâ. Right from the auditions, to the theatre and piano rounds, to finally making it to the Mumbai studio, Indian Idol became a complete experience the contestants and viewers went through together. © Sony Along the way, we discovered real singing talents, some great performers and sappy backstories that added another dimension to the show. We found our favourites, rooted for them and waited with bated breath to see if that missed call vote from the landline kept them safe for another episode. We loved some of the winners, found others more deserving but often ended up being stuck on certain contestants we liked better than all the others. Here is a list of such Indian Idol contestants we liked better than (or just as much as) the winners! Season 1The first season was simply cool to say the least. And even though Abhijeet Sawant was declared the winner, and deserved it too, it couldnât take away from the popularity that runner-up Amit Sana and fellow contestant Aditi Paul enjoyed during their time on the show. Even though Amit is no longer very active in the industry, Aditi is still going strong. Season 2Sandeep Acharya gave some mind-blowing performances in Season 2 and ended up taking the trophy home. But Karunyaâs soulful notes and Antara Mitraâs captivating renditions left an indelible mark on the people's hearts. Though Sandeep's unfateful, sudden passing away in 2013 cut his career short, Karunya and Antara have established themselves as successful playback singers today. Season 3Prashant Tamangâs roaring win was predicted even before the results were announced, but two other contestants, Amit Paul and Meiyang Chang, rivalled him in terms of popularity throughout the season. Amitâs versatility and Changâs appeal wasnât something you got over easily. Season 4I wasnât a fan of this season, even though it gave the music industry some decent singers. While Sourabhee Debbarama won the title this season, fellow contestant Bhavya Pandit became equally popular and ended up signing a music contract with the makers of Priyanka Chopra starrer Whatâs Your Rashee. Season 5This season brought in a good mix of talent, tales and musical tug-of-war when it came to winning over the public. Sreeramaâs win in this season was totally well-deserved but co-contestants Bhoomi Trivedi and Swaroop Khan also deserve a special mention here. Season 6This season failed to create a great buzz for me personally, and even though it was Vipul Mehta who took home the winnerâs title, runner-up Devender Pal Singh from Punjab gave some very memorable performances throughout the season. Season 9Itâs true I didnât watch this season as religiously, but I do remember that Revanthâs win didnât upset me. I pretty much expected him to win anyway. However, fellow participant Rohit was also a popular contestant besides being the second runner-up of the season. Season 10The 10th season saw Salman Ali take the trophy home as the winner but in all honesty no other contestant in particular made the cut in this season anyway. Season 11The most recently concluded season of the show, winner Sunny Hindustani made a deserving claim to fame with some really stellar performances. However, 13-year-old wild card entrant Ankona Mukherjee also shook the audience with her tremendous talent. View the full article

Even if you haven't seen the movie yet, you will still know about it because this Korean movie has created history as the Oscars 2020 by winning four major awards. To refresh your memory, Parasite won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film. Like I have said earlier also and what Bong Joon Ho reiterated as well at the Oscars, the moment you cross the barrier of subtitles, the world will be your television where you can watch any foreign language content from any country without any troubles. If you've already crossed that barrier, loved watching Parasite and are now looking for more such films, then this list is what you need. We've shortlisted some of the most intriguing crime and mystery Korean thrillers that will leave you feeling empty. Confession Of Murder - 2012Starring Park Si-hoo and Jung Jae-young, the movie is about a police officer who failed to catch a serial killer 15 years ago and is still haunted by that failure. In the present day, he returns to solve the case after an author claims responsibility for those crimes in a book titled I Am The Murderer. © Dasepo Club Mother - 2009We've already seen the masterpieces that Bong Joon Ho's genius mind can come up with. Mother is one of them. As the name suggests, the movie is about a woman who takes matters of law in her hands when her son is unjustly arrested for a murder of a high school girl. To what lengths can a mother go to protect her child, weaves the rest of the plot. © 2cj entertainment Burning - 2018This movie is based on a short story called Barn Burning by Haruki Murakami. It was also selected as the South Korean entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards, although it wasn't nominated. © Pinehouse Film Forgotten - 2017Directed by Jang Hang-jun and starring Kang Ha-neul, Kim Mu-yeol, Moon Sung-keun and Na Young-hee; the movie is about a man who sets out to seek the truth behind his brother's kidnapping, when his brother returns as a different man with no memory of the past 19 days. But, turns out things are not how they are. © BA Entertainment Howling - 2012Directed by Yoo Ha, this movie is based on the 1996 book The Hunter by Japanese writer Asa Nonami. It's about two detectives, a male veteran cop and female rookie who find out in their investigation that the serial killer they are trying to find is not a human, but a dog. © CJ Entertainment A Hard Day - 2014Directed by Kim Seong-hun and starring Lee Sun-kyun and Cho Jin-woong, the movie is an action thriller about two corrupt detectives who set out to stop each other, even if it means killing each other, from revealing their hidden crimes. The extent to which each one goes to hide their respective crime makes it an interesting watch. © Dasepo Club Helpless - 2012A man sets out to find his missing fiancee, who disappeared without a trace. As he continues to search for her, he uncovers some dark and shocking truths about her. © Filament PIctures The Terror Live - 2013Directed by Kim Byung-woo, this movie is about an ambitious news anchor who tries to make a grand comeback by monopolizing a live broadcast of a terrorist attack, after he gets a strange phone call threatening and eventually blowing up Mapo bridge, killing innocent people. © Lotte Entertainment The Chronicles Of Evil - 2015A detective with an impressive track record, kills a taxi driver in self defense when the driver tries to kill him. To save his reputation, he covers up the crime and hides the body. But, the situation soon turns worse when the driver's body is found hanging in front of the police station and the detective is hired to solve the murder. © CJ Entertainment Blood Rain - 2005Directed by Kim Dae-seung, this movie is based on a murder mystery set in 1808. The movie also touches base with historical prejudice against Roman Catholicism in the Joseon Kingdom. Recently, Chris Evans appeared on The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon and talked about lots of things related to Marvel and Captain America. Something that stood out was when he admitted what he preferred wielding more - Cap's shield or Thor's hammer? Turns out, Mjolnir is the winner! While talking about the iconic scene, Jimmy Fallon asked him what he liked picking up for the first time better, shield or hammer. To that, Chris said, "Hammer. Well, you know the shield was destined for the character. The hammer was kind of this period at the end of a sentence in terms of his worth, and it was nice. And the Russos really know how to build those moments. I'll say the hammer." Yeah, the shield is good and all, but Mjolnir is where it's at. But, while they were busy basking in glory, Indian cricket fans just couldn't understand why the iconic cricketer who had usually kept to himself, ended up liking such a controversial tweet - especially the one that talks about match-fixing. As many media outlets covered the story of Dhoni liking the controversial tweet, no one spoke about how or possibly why he did that. But, if anyone with an average IQ clicked on the link of the news article liked by Dhoni, they'd know the truth behind the whole controversy (if there's any). Contrary to popular perception (thanks to sensationalism), the article shared by @InKhabar has got nothing to do with any sort of match-fixing relating to the 2019 World Cup. In fact, theirs was just one of the prime examples of click-bait headlines which are aimed at boosting readership on the website. BCCL The article actually talks about how the former captains who have led Team India in the World Cups right after their wedding have ended up lifting the coveted trophy. And, according to @InKhabar, the hypothesis behind India winning the 2019 World Cup is pretty simple - Kohli who recently got married to Anushka Sharma fits the trend and is now believed to follow in the footsteps of Kapil Dev and Dhoni. While it's surely an interesting angle, but seriously guys, we are not going to believe that - do we? So, the next time you see a headline of a news article that seems too good to be true, trust your instincts, because you know better.

WASHINGTON: A tweet by former president Barack Obama about the violence in Charlottesville has become the most liked message in the history of Twitter, the company said Wednesday. The tweet by the country´s first black president quoted Nelson Mandela. "No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin or his background or his religion," Obama tweeted on Sunday, following deadly clashes in the Virginia city between neo-Nazi sympathizers and counter-protesters. As of 1300 GMT Wednesday, Obama´s message had been "liked" 3.2 million times, and retweeted 1.3 million times. The 44th US president has not spoken out on the violence except via quotes from Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid icon who died in 2013. A picture accompanying the tweet shows four babies -- including a black baby girl and a blonde baby boy -- in an open window as the ex-US president looks in. Two other Obama tweets without pictures had more than one million likes. "People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love... For love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. - Nelson Mandela," Obama wrote in two tweets, also on Sunday. A rally Saturday by neo-Nazis and white supremacists over the removal of a Confederate statue in Charlottesville erupted in clashes with counter-demonstrators. The fracas ended in bloodshed when a 20-year-old suspected Nazi sympathizer ploughed his car into a crowd of anti-racism protesters, leaving one woman dead and 19 others injured. On Tuesday President Donald Trump doubled down on his initial response to the white supremacist rally, saying there was "blame on both sides." The Republican president -- who one day earlier denounced racism and singled out the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis as "criminals and thugs" -- also hit out at what he called the "alt-left" over the weekend melee.
