While Lilly Singh is a social media sensation across the globe, and enjoys huge following even in her motherland India, Diljit Dosanjh needs no introduction as such since his every other song has been doing all the talking for this terrific singer-turned-actor. View this post on Instagram New video coming today and can I just say I went to literal hell and back to make it happen. So stay tuned... unless a lightening bolt strikes my laptop and destroys it which is honestly not that unlikely at this point ð #IfBollywoodSongsWereRap any guess which song this is from?! ðð½ A post shared by Lilly Singh (@iisuperwomanii) on Mar 27, 2019 at 6:46pm PDT A popular YouTuber, Lilly Singh aka Superwoman was recently topping trends charts for her video titled 'If Bollywood Songs Were Rap' where she talks about women's rights and being Indian in a world dominated by men and the white man's burden. While our man Diljit Dosanjh has been in the news for his upcoming Bollywood project 'Good News' which also stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The first look of the film was released a few hours ago. View this post on Instagram Superwoman ... Gud artist .. God bless her @iisuperwomanii #diljitdosanjh A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Apr 30, 2013 at 1:28pm PDT However, today, Lilly and Diljit are yet again trending all over social media, and for a reason that is so desi, and so completely Punjabi that every Indian, regardless of their geographical location, will be able to relate to it. View this post on Instagram Toronto Di Lilly Te DosanjhanWala ð When Two Punjabis meet ð¤ð¤© @iisuperwomanii @humblethepoet A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Apr 4, 2019 at 8:43pm PDT The video is their take on what happens when two theth Punjabis meet each other, in any part of this world, in whatever company and under any given circumstance. The video is on-point and totally relatable. © Instagram Lilly's caption for the video pretty much sums it up perfectly well: “When you meet someone from the motherland. This is DEF how Punjabis greet each other, complete with a 5 minute long hand holding session and family tree check in. To be honest, @diljitdosanjh and I aren't even acting... someone was just rolling when we met up.” Lilly was recently in India for the YouTube Fanfest and met up with Diljit who happens to be an old friend. These two go back a long way, and we totally love what they have whipped up.
  2. Ranveer Singh's unbeatable energy and penchant for breaking into an impromptu dance is known across the globe. The amazing actor is known for snorting crazy in the form of his garish clothes and his 'bindaas' attitude towards all his fans. View this post on Instagram Launch day got me like A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) on Mar 28, 2019 at 4:04pm PDT Recently, the crazy in him met the energy power house called Lilly Singh at an awards night, and what followed was a night of madness and dancing. 3. I feel Lilly Singh is one of the OG YouTubers and while a lot of them have become very irrelevant now, iiSuperwomanii is still giving everyone original content and that too on top of getting her own 'Late Night' show. Yes, I know she's Canadian and not Indian but she's still desi - and fully embraces that - and it's a win for us also okay, thanks. Coming back to her videos, she just released a video that could end Bollywood. Not really, but it's pretty great. So, she reimagined a few Bollywood songs as raps and changed the lyrics up to make them so relatable, it's uncanny. Starting off with 'Choli Ke Peeche', she raps about body positivity and self-love. And, that dig at Fair and Lovely just made my day. Next comes 'All Is Well' and a rap about mental health and a lot of desi problems. Obviously, this had to be there. Last song was 'Aankh Maarey' and she turned it into a Bi-Anthem and it's so beautiful to see that. And, yes she did make the 'one more remix' joke. Here's the video: As soon as it released, people coudn't stop raving about it, obviously, because it's just so great. For sure. this is insane oh my god. besides all the amazing acting, rapping, production and editing, THE MESSAGE. the underlying messages!! you're a genius @IISuperwomanII one of your best videos for sure. https://t.co/lTiu2WkVMQ — ð¼ðªð½ð¿ð²ð´ðª â¡ (@singhxstark) March 28, 2019 So original. Always reinventing. Always brilliant. So much soul. @IISuperwomanII https://t.co/UTSQY7G2O8 pic.twitter.com/81GGkGGVkx — Vikas Khanna (@TheVikasKhanna) March 28, 2019 That part in particular is great. Bollywood rap by @IISuperwomanII is best video you will see today. "Your daughter wore a dress, what will people say, hopefully they're impressed... she don't skip leg day...." ððð #LillyRemixesBollywoodhttps://t.co/WzI60MwGFK — Asjad Nazir (@asjadnazir) March 28, 2019 Yes. @IISuperwomanII THIS CURED ME. Lilly is ONE whole icon. Go watch her latest YT video: If Bollywood Songs Were Rap. YA GIRL HAS SET FIRE. pic.twitter.com/8qgjkjdNw3 — Meghalee Mitra (@meghalee_mitra) March 28, 2019 That lungi tho. I fucking can't get over how good this is. And you in a lungi just made my entire year. I'm going to replay this video until my death thank you very much. — Samyuktha/21st Apr.⤠(@TeamSuperPipoca) March 28, 2019 The best of both worlds. @IISuperwomanII's new video is not only full of bops, but also promotes great messages, we have to stan — Nida loves Lilly (@Flowerstar_5) March 28, 2019 Yep. 4. What's up everyone? It's our girl Superwoman out there making India proud! Lilly Singh aka Superwoman has just become the first Indian-origin woman to host a Late Night talk show and basically the entire world is showing nothing but support for her. It's official. Ya girl is getting her own @nbc late night show... A Little Late with Lilly Singh. Thank you so much for being here. I am truly so grateful. â¤ï¸ Thank you @jimmyfallon @sethmeyers pic.twitter.com/h44HoPRtel — Lilly Singh (@IISuperwomanII) March 15, 2019 She started off her career online by posting YouTube videos on her channel ||Superwoman|| and quickly became a fan favourite on the website because of her hilarious and relatable content. Imagine going from making YouTube videos in your room to getting your own talk show down the line. Sounds like a dream, right? Does it make you want to go back in time and start a YouTube channel doing stupid things and posting it online? Coming back to her show 'A Little Late with Lilly Singh', she's taking over Carson Daly's 1:30 am slot on NBC and the show is expected to debut this year in December. This is not just important because she's Indian-Canadian, but also because she would be joining the few women hosts in a majorly male-dominated area. Moreover, she's also an openly bisexual woman, so it's like a trifecta of representation. Ever since the news broke online, all her fans and even celebrities have been showing excitement over this and are tweeting showing support. National jiju has spoken. YES! So awesome congrats! — Nick Jonas (@nickjonas) March 15, 2019 The shade was so good. Thanks bro in law! Appreciate you tweeting this while probably still celebrating your wedding haha!
