  3. In today's era of sports where fame is directly related to fortune, ESPN has come up with a list of 100 of the most famous athletes from all over the world who enjoy a great fan following. What criteria were taken into consideration while forming the list? According to the website, the list was based on the stats in three different areas: 1. Search Score: How often is the name of the particular sportsperson looked up on the internet. The list fixes Cristiano Ronaldo's score of 100 as the baseline and the rest of the athletes were ranked accordingly. 2. Endorsement Dollars: Based on the reports provided by credible sources such as Forbes on the athletes' monetary worth based solely on their endorsement earnings. 3. Social Media Followers: The total number of followers the athletes have across all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. However, keeping in mind that not a lot of the famous athletes are not present on every social media platform, the numbers of their most famous account has been taken into account. After going through such a gruelling yet organised method of research, here is the list of the 10 most famous athletes of the world: For the fourth year in a row, Cristiano Ronaldo tops our ranking of the biggest names in sports: ESPN World Fame 100. pic.twitter.com/z25QVCqTzD — ESPN UK (@ESPNUK) March 12, 2019 1. Cristiano Ronaldo 2. Lebron James 3. Lionel Messi 4. Neymar Jr. 5. Conor McGregor 6. Roger Federer 7. Virat Kohli 8. Rafael Nadal 9. Stephen Curry 10. Tiger Woods While the top four players mentioned in the list are without doubt deserving, the fact that Conor McGregor was ranked fifth, especially with athletes like Roger Federer and Virat Kohli's immense popularity, seems a bit odd. ESPN World Fame 100 - 2019 list: 1. Cristiano Ronaldo 2. LeBron James 3. Lionel Messi 4. Neymar 5. Mcgregor 6. Roger Federer 7. VIRAT KOHLI 8. Rafael Nadal 9. Stephen Curry 10. Tiger Woods pic.twitter.com/jiGj0FvWfs — Mohammed Ibrahim Farooqui (@iBM1105) March 12, 2019 We also have to keep in mind that the list comes after whatever actions the numerous athletes took back in 2018. McGregor's memorable bout with Floyd 'Money' Mayweather definitely catapulted his name's worth amongst the audience that followed sports other than MMA. Following that, the major rivalry between the Irishman and his Russian opponent Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov which became uglier after the fight, also must have played a huge role, especially in the 'Search Score' and 'Social Media Following' categories. Having said that, the Indian cricket team's captain Virat Kohli too had the best year of his career. Winning all the three top ICC awards for his brilliance in every format of the game, namely Men's Cricketer of the Year, Test and ODI Cricketer of the Year. He was also named the captain for both ODI and Test Team of the Year.
  4. Since 2000, German films have won more Oscars in the foreign language film category than any other. This clearly indicates that German cinema has always given value to creating films that leave a lasting impact and have captivated the attention of the audience globally. From the '30s to the modern times, there have been a good number of German films that set benchmarks. A few like 'Downfall' have become a matter of discussion for critics and cinema lovers. Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's debut is an 'art' film created against a political setting. The film has got an intimate hue to it added by Ulrich Mühe (who plays a Stasi officer Gerd Wiesler). Gerd spying the lives of Sebastian Koch (a popular playwright performed by Georg Dreyman) and his lover Christa-Maria (Martina Gedeck) faces extreme personal and professional conflict. Released 17 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the viewers and critics were stunned by the accurate atmosphere created in the film and the depiction of East Berlin. (2003) Directed by Wolfgang Becker, this German tragicomedy narrates the story of a family and their struggles at the time of the 1989 revolution. Set in East Berlin, 'Good Bye, Lenin!' received strong positive reviews and numerous award nominations including BAFTA and European Film Awards. It went on to win German Film Award for Best Feature Film. The movie resonated with a larger audience in Germany at the time of its release. 3. Downfall (2004) 'Downfall' is a historical war drama directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel set in the backdrop of World War II during the Battle of Berlin. Starring Bruno Ganz, Alexandra Maria Lara, Corinna Harfouch, Ulrich Matthes, Juliane Köhler, Heino Ferch, Christian Berkel, Matthias Habich, and Thomas Kretschmann, the film outlines the final days of Adolf Hitler (played by Bruno Ganz). The film's director used eyewitness accounts and survivors' memoirs in addition to many important historical sources to add accuracy to the film. Das Boot (1981) 'Das Boot' is one German movie that has always found its place amongst the best foreign language films of all time. Directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starring Jürgen Prochnow, Herbert Grönemeyer, and Klaus Wennemann, the film portrays how German U-boat U-96 and its crew, set out on a dangerous patrol in the Battle of the Atlantic. The film inspired many film-makers to come up with their own versions of films and TV series based on the same theme. With highly positive reviews and six Academy Awards nominations, the film is now seen as a pioneer in the category of war films. The film also holds a record for the maximum number of Academy nominations ever received by a German film. 5. The Counterfeiters (2007) Written and directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky, the Austrian-German drama is a product of high-end research and fine scripting. 'The Counterfeiters' is a story based on Operation Bernhard during World War II (the largest counterfeiting operation in history). It brilliantly narrates the horrors of the concentration camps in Nazi Germany and chronicles the life of Solly (the counterfeiter). 'The Counterfeiters' received outstanding reviews from the critics. Some even put the film amongst the best films of 2007. The film went on to bag the Best Foreign Language film at the 80th Academy Awards. 6. Apart from five German Film Awards that it won, 'Nowhere in Africa' also won an Oscar in the foreign language film category. 7. Run Lola Run (1998) Starring Franka Potente as Lola and Moritz Bleibtreu as Manni, 'Run Lola Run' follows the story of a woman who finds herself in a race against time to save the life of her boyfriend. Though it was made decades later, it depicted various allusions to Alfred Hitchcock's film 'Vertigo'. The film touched on philosophical themes including the butterfly effect and determinism. Directed by Tom Tykwer, the German thriller has got many accolades to its name including seven German Film Awards. The film was also Germany's official submission for the Best Foreign Language Film category. 8. The Baader Meinhof Complex (2008) Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 81st Academy Awards, 'The Baader Meinhof Complex', depicts the story of the Red Army Fraction, or Red Army Faction, a.k.a. RAF from 1967 to 1977. Directed by Uli Edel, and written by Bernd Eichinger (who also produced 'Downfall'), much has been taken in the film from a book by investigative reporter Stefan Aust who always had connections to those inside the RAF. The film portrays the events that took place in a decade with precision and objectiveness and thus stands out when compared to other films in a similar niche. 9. M (1931) Master storyteller Fritz Lang's German thriller-drama 'M' is one film that established itself as a classic over a period of time. Starring Peter Lorre, the magnum opus is based on the story of a serial killer and how both the police and the underworld try to get a hold of him. The film holds highly positive reviews by the critics and is considered a must watch in the psychological thriller category. Many instances from the film have been used in various other films including the 1940 Nazi propaganda movie 'The Eternal Jew'. In 2010, the film was ranked at number 33 in Empire magazine's list of 100 Best Films of World Cinema. Not only this, but the film has also been adapted into a radio show and comic book series. 10. Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) Out of the many cult films Germany has given to the world cinema, 'Aguirre, the Wrath of God' stands in its own glory. Written and directed by Werner Herzog, the epic historical drama follows the journey of Spanish soldier Lope de Aguirre (Klaus Kinski), who takes his group of conquerors down the Amazon River on a quest to El Dorado. The film uses a minimalist approach to dialogue and storyline, at the same time succeeds in leaving a lasting impression at the audience. Rolling Stone put the film on its '100 Maverick Movies of the Last 100 Years' list. 'Aguirre, the Wrath of God' went on to inspire films like 'Apocalypse Now', 'The New World' and a few others. It also won a few accolades including the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Cinematography.
  5. Air Pollution has been a major concern in the Delhi-NCR region for the past couple of years, and it only seems to be getting worse by the day. According to a new report, seven of the world's ten most polluted cities are in India and New Delhi has once again been ranked the world's most polluted capital. The Greenpeace and AirVisual analysis of air pollution readings from thousands of cities around the world, has found that 64-per cent overshoots WHO's annual exposure guideline for PM2.5. The report says that every single city measured in the Middle East and Africa exceeds the WHO guideline, so does about 99-per cent of cities in South Asia. © Greenpeace/AirVisual Here's where it gets interesting - If you look at the list, you will notice that it's mostly populated by Indian cities. Gurugram has topped the list for being the most polluted city in the world in 2018 with an average of more than 135 micrograms of PM2.5 per cubic meter throughout the year. That number is just insane! Ghaziabad sits right next to Gurugram with, again, more than 135 micrograms of PM2.5 per cubic meter. Other cities in the top 10 list include Faridabad, Bhiwadi, Noida, Patna, etc. Names like Faisalabad in Pakistan and Hotan in China can also be seen. Moving on to the capital cities, Delhi is up there on top, of course, and it's followed by the Dhaka and Kabul in Afghanistan. Cities like London, New York, and Melbourne, as you can see in the list, are far safer in comparison with the average readings less than 15.
  6. For someone who has developed a knack for shattering records at will, Virat Kohli romped his way to yet another individual milestone as he brought up his 40th hundred in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on 5th March. Carrying the baton for his side, Kohli led from the front as he hammered the opposition bowlers all around the park during his strokeful innings of 116 runs including 10 fours against Australia in the 2nd ODI in Nagpur. In the process, the Delhi lad became only the second man to reach 40 ODI hundreds after great Sachin Tendulkar who currently leads the list with 49 tons. King Kohli scores his 40th century against Australia in Nagpur. ð¯#INDvAUS https://t.co/7V5ywUDPMl — Twitter Moments India (@MomentsIndia) March 5, 2019 Coming out to bat, with India reeling at 0/1 following the early dismissal of Rohit Sharma, Kohli held the fort at one end as he stitched crucial partnerships with his teammates to stabilise the innings for his side and ensure they managed to post a competitive total of 250 runs. As he reached the 22-run mark, the 30-year-old also reached 9,000 international runs as a captain. He achieved the feat in 159 innings while breaking Ricky Ponting's record that was notched up by the Aussie great in 203 innings. ð¯ Stand up and applaud. The Run Machine brings up his 40th ODI Century ðð What a player #KingKohli ð#INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/9s2ziwh6kR — BCCI (@BCCI) March 5, 2019 Kohli also became the sixth player to score 9,000 runs in international cricket as captain. Graeme Smith (220 innings), MS Dhoni (253), Allan Border (257), Stephen Fleming (272) are the other former captains in the list. Later, Kohli also brought up his 50th ODI fifty and now boasts of over 10,570 runs in the 50-over format with a brilliant average of over 59. #KingKohli Has Completed 9,000 International Runs As Captain ð®ð³ 159 -- Innings* 9000 -- Runs 66.66 -- Average 35 -- ð¯ 4515 -- Test 3879 -- ODI 606 -- T20i#INDvAUS #AUSvIND @imVkohli Congratulations skipper #ViratKohli ðððð pic.twitter.com/cWGLiNBNJ4 — KARTHICK (@KarthickS_31) March 5, 2019 Overall, it was Kohli's 7th ODI hundred against Australia, two less than Tendulkar, who also leads the list of most hundreds by a batsman in India-Australia ODIs. For a man who had a sensational run in 2018 where he scored 11 tons across formats, Kohli appears to be in ominous form this year. Already touted as one of the greats, Kohli has been enjoying a sensational run ever since he took over MS Dhoni as India's captain in 2017. The right-hander has slammed 18 hundreds while leading India in ODI cricket. As many as 24 of his 40 ODI tons have come while chasing - something that proves how efficient he has been under pressure. On a day, when other Indian batsmen failed to get going, Kohli stepped up to the task and aided his side with a brilliant knock. There was no surprise to see 'King Kohli' drawing plaudits on the social media following his majestic innings. Top innings. Another day at work. 7. What makes a person successful? Is it luck? Is it beauty? Brains? Or money? The answer is none of these and also all of these. But yes, there is one thing successful people have in common: they are unconventional. They do not particularly conform to social conventions. They do have to face a lot of flak for the same and hardly ever are they recognized in their time (Phoebe Buffay, anyone? :P). Their way of doing things and their thought process is much ahead of their times. The truth about being conventional is that it constricts people to think in a certain way, it makes them remain shackled in a dictated way of living life or having ideas. You are expected to act a certain way, do certain things, behave in a predetermined way. There is never room for imagination. Therefore, when one tries to break free of the societal conventions thrust upon them, they are faced with resistance. Change is never welcome and when someone tries to change a preconceived formula, it is always looked down upon. The same happens with every entity we come across: people, books, movies, TV shows, music and the list goes on. When was the last time you saw a movie and were absolutely blown away by its unusual story and eccentric characters? What is so different about these movies? These movies question the archaic rules, break stereotypes and make a niche arc for themselves. Yes, everyone might not appreciate the brilliance of the story, the avant-garde themes and the work behind these movies but if you give these a chance, they might open up recesses of your mind which have been long shut by the wax of societal convention. Planning to watch an unconventional movie? Here are 7 such movies on Netflix which you can watch: 1. The Lady In The Van (2015): © TriStar Pictures/BBC Films/Sony Pictures Releasing/Netflix Maggie Smith stars in as the eponymous lady, Miss Mary Shepherd, with a secret; a terrible past which has led her to live as a vagabond on the streets. The only solace she has is her Bedford van which she believes is blessed. When writer Alan Bennett, fresh off the success of his latest play, moves into the neighbourhood, little does he know how his life is going to change after getting acquainted with the aforementioned lady. As Alan gets to know more about Miss Shepherd, they form an unusual bond of friendship, propelled by Alan's gesture to accommodate her in his driveway. In due course, Alan begins to perceive the real, sad person behind the eccentric, perennially annoyed, unhygienic Mary. As the movie progresses, we see Alan constantly struggle with the idea of Mary, a fact cleverly portrayed through debates between his two identities: the writer and the real. His conflicted emotions make him miserable and he keeps comparing the two women in his life: the lady in the van and his mother. No one plays eccentric and prudish characters better than Maggie Smith (Remember Professor McGonagall and the Dowager Countess?), and she does it again here. She is adorable in a funny way, bringing alive the pathos of Mary. Alex Jennings is excellent as the harried writer in two minds. Based on a true story from one of Alan Bennet's memoirs, the movie encapsulates the beauty of human relations and emotions, and the power of friendship through its exceptional writing and excellent portrayals. It makes us ask ourselves about the eternal question: why can't we be more compassionate? 2. Band of Robbers (2015): © Tom Sky Entertainment/Gravitas Pictures Just imagine if Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer were still looking for buried treasure! Intriguing, isn't it? Well, Huck and Finn are back with a modern upgrade! Directed by the Nee Brothers, Band of Robbers is a reimagination of the classics: Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Heavily borrowing from the books, it plays high on the nostalgia but not in an overcompensating way and stands on its own. The borrowed incidents do not influence the entirety of the movie, an ode to the genius of the Nee Brothers. Huck (Kyle Gallner) and Tom (Adam Nee) are now adults, but they haven't forgotten their “heroic” ways. When Huck, who has been in jail for some time is released, he is greeted by his best friend, Tom, who is now a down-on-his-luck police officer. Tom is still ambitious about their childhood dream of finding and claiming the Murrell treasure and has hatched a plan to finally lay his hands on it. A reluctant Huck gives in and they are then joined by their awkward and scatterbrained friends, Joe and Ben. As they start their adventure, they run into old acquaintances and with the omnipresent clues and the mysterious hints which are a trademark of the Twain novels, they seem to be a step closer to finding the treasure. Injun Joe makes a comeback along with all our favourite characters from the books. Prepare to relive your childhood! A true masterpiece in parallel thinking. Most definitely recommended! 3. Tramps (2016): © Animal Kingdom/Rooks Nest Entertainment/Netflix When two aspiring crooks cross paths on a job not done well, sparks are bound to fly. Callum Turner stars as smart mouth Danny who gets embroiled in a heist for his brother who has recently been incarcerated. His task is simple: switch a briefcase with another at the subway. All hell breaks loose when he realizes that the briefcase was not given to the intended recipient. Armed with just an address of the person with the briefcase and an unwilling partner-in-crime, quick-witted Ellie (Grace Van Patten), these teens traverse New York City using various modes: the subway, the bus, stolen bicycles, et al and embark on a crazy joyride which both of them had never anticipated. With stunning New York as a backdrop, it is reminiscent of those '70s movies with similar themes of a romance bubbling between two con artists but that is where the similarity ends. What is different is the pure brilliance of the plot, which shifts between romance and pragmatism effortlessly: two strangers find something on their wayward journey which may or may not result in something more concrete. A hauntingly beautiful background score and engaging performances by Grace Van Patten and Callum Turner make this one of the most intriguing movies on the list so far. Sometimes, temporary meetings can change you forever. 4. The Invention of Lying (2009): © Radar Pictures/Universal Pictures/Warner Bros. Pictures/Focus Features Imagine a world where there were no lies and you couldn't lie. Could you imagine? But this is the world which Mark Bellison (Ricky Gervais) lives in. In this alternate reality, you cannot lie and there is no such thing as fiction, everyone speaks the truth; a utopian society which tells the truth without thinking about its ramifications. When things start to go horribly wrong for him at work, where he works as a screenwriter, owing to the fact that his movies are historical 14th-century flops and his personal life goes for a toss, he discovers the art of lying and he can do it quite well. Things start getting better once he starts lying and he soon discovers that lying can be beneficial to others as well! His crowning glory comes in the form of the ultimate lie he cooks up: God! Eventually, he faces a moral quandary and what he does sets the tone for the rest of the movie. The movie is funny, though it has its share of flaws, is a satire on faith, religion and the entire concept of truth. Is honesty always the best policy? Ricky Gervais is funny as always, more so as the unfortunate Mark, and so is Jennifer Garner as the snooty socialite, Anna. Unconventional and thought-provoking, its humour is its best-selling point. 5. Paddleton (2019): © Duplass Brothers Productions/Netflix Directed by Alex Lehman, the comedy-drama movie revolves around two middle-aged neighbours, Michael (Mark Duplass) and Andy (Ray Romano), who are best friends: eating pizza, watching dubbed Kung-Fu movies and playing “Paddleton” (a mix of paddleball and badminton) and living their best lives. Tragedy strikes when Michael gets diagnosed with terminal cancer which sets both of them to take a hard look at their lives, especially Andy. When Michael asks Andy to assist him in ending his life, they set out on a road trip to get the drugs and on the journey discover what they desperately crave. Fringing on the indie-film boundary, with mumblecore elements, this movie is one of those exceptional ones which truly open your eyes to the truth of being human. Without being too preachy, the movie stresses on our perceptions of friendship and life and how far will one go to save someone they care about. Andy and Michael have the perfect bromance, platonic with just the right amount of “sweet old couple fighting” but that doesn't change the fact that they absolutely love each other. The dialogue is efficient and economical, there are no big speeches on friendship or mushy declarations of love, just two people who care about each other and have finally realized their own mortality. The humour is top-notch, and its self-deprecating tone is one of its greatest triumphs. Mark Duplass and Ray Romano portray their characters with such nuance that watching them will make you realize the sadness we all carry with ourselves and the armour we put up for the world so that no one sees the vulnerability behind the façade. Ray Romano is best remembered as Raymond from “Everybody Loves Raymond” and so it is nearly inconceivable to imagine him in some other role. Seeing him portray an intense character so well blew my mind and will do the same for you! 6. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018): © Blueprint Pictures/Netflix Adapted from the novel of the same name, it focuses on a successful London writer, Juliet Ashton, who gets intrigued when a letter arrives from Guernsey along with the news of a much-beloved childhood book which happens to be in the possession of the sender, Dawsey Adams. Dawsey and Juliet start a correspondence via letters as the story behind the book club, whimsically founded by Dawsey's friend, Elizabeth McKenna, and four others in an attempt to resist arrest while the island was under the German occupation, piques Juliet's interest. Juliet then visits Guernsey to meet the people behind the odd named literary society and is fascinated by the colourful characters and their unique tale of how they survived during the occupation. Juliet plans to write a book about the society, but things start to unravel as she expresses her desire to the people of Guernsey, guided by the conspicuous absence of Elizabeth which seems like a mystery. Lily James' intricate portrayal of the determined and soft-spoken author, Juliet, who has a sad past is memorable as it is heartwarming. Michiel Huisman as Dawsey Adams seems to be tailor made for the role of the homegrown, down-to-earth farmer from Guernsey. All the members of the literary society are charming people in their quirky ways, especially Isola. A beautiful and delightful story of the power of human imagination. Truly marvellous! 7. I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016): © Paris Film/Zed Filmworks/Netflix “Even the prettiest things come to rot.” A hauntingly terrifying story told through dreamy cinematography, top-notch camerawork and eloquent dialogue delivery. This new genre of horror is better than you ever expected. We go back to gothic suspense roots as newly appointed nurse, Lily (Ruth Wilson), the self-proclaimed pretty thing, takes us through the once opulent house, one step at a time, where she is supposed to take care of the once famous and now demented, reclusive author Iris Blum (Paula Prentiss) who refers to Lily as Polly. Strangely, Polly (Lucy Boynton) happens to be the name of the protagonist of Iris' best-selling novel, The Lady in the Walls. As Lily recounts her story, she tells us how she chanced upon the novel and how things started to unravel thereafter. As the movie progresses, we keep shifting from present to the past and meet the real Polly on whom apparently Iris based her book. Things take a drastic turn when Lily starts to realize that the reality of the book might be something grotesque. Not your typical brand of horror, it isn't about a fearless protagonist or ghosts which trouble you but provides a compelling narrative of the three main characters, all thanks to the genius of Osgood Perkins (the director). It surely transports you a horror world akin to the ones created by directors like Stanley Kubrick and Roman Polanski. It isn't a run-of-the-mill horror, but what makes it so unconventional is that you are left to your own devices to judge the veracity of the narration, the elusiveness of the story makes it more compelling. Appearances are deceptive: what you find pretty might not always be pretty. So, which one are you planning to watch?

  9. The 91st Academy Awards got off to a fantastic start, thanks to a memorable performance by the surviving members of the iconic band 'Queen' and Adam Lambert. A rocking performance which included them singing the classic 'We Will Rock You' from 'Bohemian Rhapsody' saw the crowd engage immensely with the aura of their music. The so called 'hostless' Oscars' stage was then taken over by Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph. The trio's 'Not Your Oscar Hosts' opening was received with a huge roar of laughter from the crowd. Moving on, just like every year, this year's 'Biggest Night Of Hollywood' was another memorable affair. From winners to reunions to special moments, here are some highlights from 91st Academy Awards. 1) Making India Proud © BCCL Oscars 2019 proved to be a historic night for India as Guneet Monga's 'Period. End Of Sentence' won 'Best Documentary Short Subject' at the awards. The film based on menstruation was competing with the likes of 'Black Sheep', 'End Game', 'Lifeboat' and 'A Night at the Garden'. 2) Real Life Captain © Twitter/9gag Chris Evans had a real life 'Captain America' moment because of his chivalrous act towards 'Best Supporting Actress' winner Regina King. Evans helped King up the stairs proving him to be the leading candidate for 'Best At Supporting Actors' award. 3) Wayne's World Reunion © Entertainment tonight Mike Myers and Dana Carvey had a reunion (which we're not worthy of) at the Oscars. The duo's coming together reminded people of the iconic friends headbanging violently while singing along a Queen song in the car scene. Mike and Dana came together to introduce 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. 4) 'Wa-kanda' Awards © Bustle After the amazing year that Marvel has had, many people questioned, “Wa-kan-da awards Marvel hasn't won?” It turns out it was the Oscars. Marvel ended its barren run of the prestigious awards by winning not one, not two, but three trophies as 'Black Panther' won awards for 'Best Costume Design', 'Best Production Design' and 'Best Original Score'. 5) Cooper And Gaga's Show What stole the show was Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's intimate performance of their song 'Shallow' from the movie 'A Star Is Born'. We cannot be thankful enough for a performance like that. Shallow also led Lady Gaga to her first ever Oscar in the 'Best Song' category. 6) Brian And Melissa's Parody Brian Tyree Henry and Melissa McCarthy performed a subtle parody by putting on a fashion show when they came out to announce the category for 'Best Costume Design'. McCarthy stepped out in a mash-up of 'The Favourite' and 'Mary Queen of Scots' in bunny rabbit couture, completed with a bunny hand puppet, while Henry rocked a 'Mary Poppins Returns' look with lots of lace and a dress to match. Below is the list of all the winners of the coveted trophy. Best Picture Green Book Best Director Alfonso Cuaron, Roma Best Actor Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody Best Actress Olivia Colman, The Favourite Best Supporting Actor Mahershala Ali, Green Book Best Supporting Actress Regina King, If Beale Street Could Talk Best Original Screenplay Green Book Best Adapted Screenplay BlacKkKlansman Best Cinematography Roma Best Film Editing Bohemian Rhapsody Best Sound Mixing Bohemian Rhapsody Best Sound Editing Bohemian Rhapsody (John Warhurst and Nina Hartstone) Best Original Score Black Panther, Ludwig Goransson Best Original Song "Shallow" A Star is Born (written by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, Andrew Wyatt; performed by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga) Best Animated Feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Best Costume Design Black Panther (Ruth E. 11. The official websites of Pakistan's Foreign Ministry and the Army were hacked on Saturday night, making them inaccessible for users outside the country. Later, several other websites were hacked and defaced. The hackers left behind a message stating "We will never forget #14/02/2019". © Reuters According to the report in Pakistan's Dawn, the government websites were working fine within the country, but users from other countries were unable to access them. Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Faisal said, "The website is functioning without any issues in Pakistan. However, visitors to the website from Holland, Australia, Britain, and Saudi Arabia are facing difficulty opening it." © Reuters Several media reports say a list of the hacked websites is being circulated on WhatsApp and other social media platforms claiming that "Pakistan has faced it's worst cyber attack in history, in last 72 hours". A lot of these websites have been brought back to normal now. "The IT team is currently occupied in thwarting the hackers onslaught," Faisal added. These cyber attacks by Indian ethical hackers come after over 40 CRPF personnel were killed on 14th February 2019 in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Previously, fingers were pointed to India-based hackers when the official website of PPP was found defaced in June 2017. © BCCL Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack, and the group is known to be shielded by the Pakistani administration. The Indian government has slammed Pakistan over its terror links, but the neighbouring country has denied charges. Over 50 countries have condemned the barbaric attack and expressed support to India in its fight against terrorism. Immediately after the attack, India withdrew the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status, which was accorded to Pakistan in 1996.
  12. Rick and his motley bunch might be the most famous bunch of zombie-wranglers to ever get a prime-time spot. But excellent as 'The Walking Dead' is, it's not the only awesome zombie show around. So if you've already binged on 'The Walking Dead' and need more to satisfy those cravings for 'braaains', check out any of these: 1. Z Nation The zombie apocalypse is in full swing and it's not just the undead you need to worry about, but also the rather-more unscrupulous living. But no, don't for a minute assume Z Nation's some sort of low-budget attempt at riding 'The Walking Dead' wave. This is a bonafide cracker in its own right. Over-the-top action, zany humour, and nail-biting suspense, it all comes together in a gleefully bloodthirsty romp as our heroes make a last-ditch attempt to discover a cure. Zombie strippers? A giant zombie cheese wheel bulldozing everything in its part? A zombie baby? Zombies getting stoned? You'll find it all here. Best of all, this SyFy show doesn't shy away from getting rid of fan fav characters. 2. Santa Clarita Diet Say hello to Sheila Hammond (the effervescent Drew Barrymore). She and her husband Joel (played by the master of facial expressions, Timothy Olyphant) are regular folks from the suburbs. Regular folks with a regular life. Staying outta trouble, raising a kid, and in general, just being a regular family. But things are about to change when Shiela upchucks enough vomit (and what looks like an organ) to cheer up your average, gross 10-year-old on the night before a math exam. You guessed it - sweet and quiet Sheila Hammond is now a zombie, with some unfortunately timed craving for living flesh. Join the Hammonds as they try figuring out what happened, and also deal with a wave of adversaries - everything from nosy neighbours and mad scientists to talking heads and corrupt cops. See, who said the suburbs were boring? 3. iZombie Parties are fun. Unless you're at the wrong one, like Olivia Moore, and get scratched by a zombie who's tripping on something downright evil. Luckily, she's a doctor. Which means she can get a job as a Medical Examiner and can chomp on the dead instead of wandering the streets looking for brains like other, less privileged zombies. Now, while it's no fun being a zombie (you don't enjoy 'normal' food, relationships can be hard, and you need to keep it all under wraps for fear of vigilantes), there's an unintended side benefit: Liv can 'see' the last moments of those she eats. Which means even Sherlock Holmes can't hold a candle to her in solving crimes. She's also got her own crime-fighting posse: colleague Dr Ravi Chakrabarti, and homicide detective Clive Babineaux. Together, they solve crimes and at the same time, go up against drug (and brains) dealer Blaine who's usually up to nothing good. 4. Helix A team of scientists find themselves investigating a mysterious disease at an Arctic research station. But the chaps who run the station would rather bury the problem than let the outside world discover they've created, what are in effect, zombies with the speed and bloodthirstiness to make it tough going even for seasoned commandos. Nothing seems to work, and there seem to be loads of secrets floating around. Watch Helix for its fantastic aura of foreboding and doom. The icy wastes of the Arctic and the blue-tinged atmosphere of the research station make this seem almost like a new outing of the Resident Evil franchise. And we mean that in a good way! 5. Ash vs Evil Dead Once upon a time, there was a horror movie called The Evil Dead. It grew up (or rather, spawned sequels), and by the third film in the franchise, it was an all-out comedy (Army of Darkness). Never heard of it? Turn in your horror fan card. Ash (Bruce Campbell) from the movie returns in this TV show set 30 years after the happenings in the film. Unfortunately, it wasn't all happily ever after for our hero, who still works a dead-end job and lives in a crappy trailer. But evil won't sit still and it's up to our very politically-incorrect, chauvinistic warrior-hero (assisted by some new friends) to ward off never-ending legions of 'Deadites' (think of them as demons that inhabit corpses). Yes, it's not a zombie TV show in the strictest sense of the term - the Deadites are far more conniving and dangerous than a half-eaten zombie shuffling along - but it's fun (and very, very gory).
  13. Some men view it as an inconvenience and try to avoid it altogether, while some view it as an essential part of their everyday routine. It's even possible that you fall somewhere in the middle of these two opposing viewpoints and do it occasionally. Regardless of what your personal opinion on shaving is, the fact of the matter is that it's something almost all of us do. And at a time when bushy beards are all the rage, the clean shaven look can be seen as a breath of fresh air, which is why you'll find several celebrities and A-listers championing it at work, on the red carpet, and even on the sports field. As it happens, even the most bushiest of beards needs its fair share of maintenance, which requires even the whiskered gentleman to display a certain level of competence with the razor and invest in the best grooming products in order to maintain the tag of 'well groomed'. Why Do You Shave? Before you head off to shop for shaving supplies straightaway, you need to make sure you're stocking up on the right stuff. Whether you're shaving your whole face or carefully detailing around your beloved beard or moustache, the products you use can make quite a difference. If you're a fan of the clean shaven look and are willing to invest the time it takes to give yourself the smoothest possible shave everyday, you should look into finding a good shaving cream. However, if a couple of minutes before you rush off for work is all you can spare for your daily shave, then the right shaving foam is what you need. Why Shaving Foams? The major characteristic of a good shaving foam is that it allows for a quick, time-saving yet efficient shave, which is perfect for a man constantly on the go. Just splash your face with water and with a couple of sprays of the can, you instantly have a light, airy lather which is incredibly easy to apply, remove with the blade, and rinse away with the next splash of water. 15. Everyone loves Stranger Things and Black Mirror, but you'd be doing your inner geek a great disservice by ignoring the oh-so-many more fantastic sci-fi shows out there. Which is why we've come up with a list of series that should make you as happy as a mad scientist who's cracked the secret of time travel: 1. 12 Monkeys Move over Hollywood, TV's doing it better. That's the lesson you draw from '12 Monkeys'. Sure, the 1995 movie (directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt) was a fun watch, but this show really takes time travel adventure to the next level. via GIPHY An incredibly detailed plotline, a lot of old-fashioned action, characters you grow fond of, and even dollops of zany humour (We bet Emily Hampshire's Jennifer Goines will become one of your fav characters in just a few episodes) make '12 Monkeys' one of our fave shows. 2. Altered Carbon It's the 24th century and technology has evolved to the point we can now store human consciousness in a small disk, making us pretty much immortal. But that doesn't mean humans will stop being human - yup, people still get murdered. How do you deal with that? via GIPHY Well, if you're rich beyond imagination, you wake up in your new body, and then you hire a former rebel to track down your killer on the gritty streets of future LA. Sounds a bit like 'Blade Runner'? The debt it owes to that seminal flick is obvious. But that doesn't make it any less deserving of praise - it's a great blend of cyberpunk futurism and old-school film noir. 3. The Expanse You know a TV show's got something going for it when Jeff Bezos announces Prime Video will be picking it up. That's what happened when 'The Expanse' was cancelled. Fans screamed out in anguish, but Bezos swooped in to the rescue. And no, he wasn't playing the indulgent billionaire - if anyone knows what's a good deal, it's the chap who owns freakin' Amazon. via GIPHY 'The Expanse's' astonishingly accurate science will make physics nuts swoon, the space scenes are jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and the intrigue and tension can make an Oscar-winning drama look tame. Utterly brilliant storytelling and filmmaking, that's what 'The Expanse' is. 4. Travelers In the future, the planet is dying, and humanity's not really having a great time. But our descendants have figured out the secret of time travel. No, they don't use their newfound tech to go make a killing on the stock market. Instead, they do the wise thing and send in teams of 'Travelers' back to our present. via GIPHY Travelers who hide amongst us by only occupying the bodies of people when they're about to die - they're from the future, after all, so they know that stuff (duh). And what's their task? To subtly nudge humanity away from a path to self-destruction. But all's not what it seems - there are factions trying to stop this, and even fellow Travelers with an axe to grind. 5. Westworld Science Fiction meets cowboys in this highly addictive HBO show. Set in the future, 'Westworld' is the tale of an amusement park where the rich can go live out their fantasies of being back in the Wild West. via GIPHY But things take a darker turn when the androids that work there begin to show signs of sentience. It's smart, it's fun, and it's got enough emotional depth for even those who don't like most sci-fi shows. We can't recommend this enough! 6. Misfits From 'ol Blighty comes this new-age tale of superheroes. A bunch of teenage delinquents, stuck doing community service for various anti-social deeds (teenagers, we tell ya!) find themselves granted mysterious and hard-to-control superpowers. via GIPHY But these aren't one-dimensional superheroes of yore - they're just kids stuck in a strange situation and they need to save themselves before anything else. 7. The Man in the High Castle Based on a book by the legendary Philip K Dick (Blade Runner, anyone?), 'The Man in the High Castle' is a riveting romp through an alternate world - one where the Axis powers won World War II. It's set in the sixties, but one without hippies, the Rolling Stones, or the Mustang. via GIPHY Instead, the United States has been divvied up between the Germans and Japanese, and to say they rule with an iron fist would be an understatement. But there's hope: A band of rebels is fighting against the occupying forces as well as they can (and not faring too well), and there are signs reality may not be as fixed and predetermined as we all fear. 8. Firefly Older readers amongst us will be intimately familiar with this rollicking space western. To the younger reader, we can only describe it as 'Star Wars' for the TV era. via GIPHY Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' only lasted one season, and that was a decade-and-a-half ago, but it's just so much fun, you need to go watch it. And when the credits of the final episode start rolling, take a second before you start cursing the exec who cancelled 'Firefly', and thank your stars that Whedon also made a movie ('Serenity') that acts like a sequel (or second season).
  16. When stories of the wars fought in human history started turning stale, film-makers decided to turn some real, some fictional accounts into unforgettable films. War films have inspired us, somehow made us more patriotic and even changed our perception towards those who suffered. War films transport us to an era that we have never witnessed; however, by the means of great storytelling, one can feel the terror of the bombings, the pain of the Holocaust and the joy of victories. In this post, we have listed the greatest war films that have ever been made: 1. Saving Private Ryan (1998) Steven Spielberg's esteemed project that bagged a gigantic five Academy Awards win is at the top of our list. 'Saving Private Ryan' is one of the most realistic war films ever made. The film is set up at the backdrop of Normandy invasion during World War II and the combat scenes of the D Day are one of the most expensive war scenes that have ever been shot in a war film. In the movie, Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) is on a mission to find Private James Ryan (Matt Damon), who happens to be the only surviving brother of the four brothers killed in the war. The film chronicles the journey of war heroes and how bravely they fight the bloodiest battle in human history. 'Saving Private Ryan' fills you with deep emotions, shakes you to the core and gives you a clear glimpse of what a war looks like. 2. Dunkirk (2017) Though Christopher Nolan's 'Dunkirk' snub at the 2018 Oscars jolted many, his World War II drama inspired by the 1940 evacuation of allied soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk proved that Nolan is the master of all genres. When you see 'Dunkirk' you forget everything that is going around in the world outside the film. Shot on a large format film and released in 70mm projection, 'Dunkirk' instantly takes you to the war era and effortlessly makes you a part of it. While you tear up at the end, you do not only see the film as a mere spectator but as a witness, in a hope that the soldiers would see their way to home. When the war genre got almost saturated with run-of-the-mill-storytelling, Nolan breathed a fresh air by making 'Dunkirk' a masterpiece. 3. The Pianist (2002) Roman Polanski is now bereft of all the Oscars he earned in his entire lifetime, except the one he got for directing 'The Pianist'. The World War II drama based on the struggle and survival of Polish Jew musician Wladyslaw at the peak of the war is a powerful story of human resilience. Based on the autobiography of Wladyslaw Szpilman, the film pertinently narrates the horrors of the Holocaust. Adrien Broody's stint in the film got him huge critical acclaim ultimately making him the youngest Academy Award recipient in the Best Actor category. 'The Pianist' by all means is a simple yet pre-eminent depiction of a survivor's journey and how he manages to escape the Holocaust on the basis of his will to live. 4. Schindler's List (1993) In November 2018, Steven Spielberg's pièce de résistance 'Schindler's List' marked its 25th anniversary. Based on the world famous story of Oskar Schindler who saved twelve hundred Jews during the time of the Holocaust, the film bagged the Academy Award for Best Picture and also happened to be Liam Neeson's career-transforming performance. The film's black and white tone and a 72 days filming remained in talks for a long time. The film is also a cinematic marvel of its time and has remained one of the most accurate and heartbreaking films about the war. 5. Apocalypse Now (1979) Francis Ford Coppola's Vietnam War drama has got the war madness in it. Starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall, Sam Bottoms, Laurence Fishburne, and Dennis Hopper, the film is a sheer delight for war film aficionados. 'Apocalypse Now' is well-documented, hellish, and puts forth an epic saga. The film represents the brutalities of war with precision and with time the significance of the film has only increased. 'Apocalypse Now' somehow overpowers other war Vietnam War films including 'The Deer Hunter' and 'Platoon'. 6. The Deer Hunter (1978) Michael Cimino's valuable project took more time for completion and therefore the film turned out to be a three-hour long story. Starring Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Christopher Walken, John Savage, George Dzundza and John Cazale (in his final role), 'The Deer Hunter' is a story of three friends who went on to fight in the Vietnam War. This is one film that truly belongs to its actors. It has been pronounced culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant by the United States National Film Registry and went on to win five Academy Awards including the one for Best Picture. 'The Deer Hunter' is a gripping tale, one that can't be forgotten and aptly depicts the monstrosities of the Vietnam War. 7. Lawrence of Arabia (1962) Amidst a good range of films based on World War II, there exists one of the finest classics of all time. 'Lawrence of Arabia' is not only a World War I movie but one of the greatest films that have ever been made. Directed by David Lean, this is an epic historical drama film based on the life of T. E. Lawrence and chronicles his journey in the Arabian Peninsula during World War I. The film went on to win a total of seven Academy Awards including the one for Best Picture and Best Director. The film also gave Peter O'Toole an international recognition for his portrayal of T.E. Lawrence. 8. Platoon (1986) Oliver Stone's ambitious anti-war project starring Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, Charlie Sheen, Keith David, Kevin Dillion, John C. McGinley, Forest Whitaker, and Johnny Depp, is based on Stone's own experiences during the Vietnam War. The film earned Oliver Stone an Academy Award for Best Director and also huge critical acclaim for brilliantly writing his own story and ultimately turning it into a movie. The reality behind the film's very existence attracted large crowds to the theatres; people were moved to the core after witnessing how brilliantly the story unfolded. The achievement of 'Platoon' is seen to be of much greater value when seen in terms of the best Vietnam War films that have ever been made. 9. The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) In 1958, 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' swept seven Academy Awards including the one for Best Picture. Directed by David Lean, the film is a British-American war drama based on the novel Le Pont de la Rivière Kwaï (1952) written by Pierre Boulle. Actors William Holden, Jack Hawkins, Alec Guinness, and Sessue Hayakawa worked on the historic construction of the Burman Railways. When war heroes built a bridge across the Kwai River, a never seen before story certainly got the world's attention. The film chronicles a valiant tale and keeps power to move the viewers. The movie also became the 11th greatest British film of the 20th Century as per the British Film Institute. 10. Full Metal Jacket (1987) The last film in our list is a Stanley Kubrick production. 'Full Metal Jacket' narrates the journey of two privates of the U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. The film depicts how under hard-bitten conditions, Joker (Matthew Modine ) and Pyle (Vincent D'Onofrio ) struggle to get through the boot camp, especially when they are met by an abusive drill instructor (R. Lee Ermey). The film received huge critical acclaim and also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
  17. Comedy is just a funny way of being serious but there is nothing harder than doing comedy. Laughter is a big part of our lives, we must try to laugh as much as possible because life is too short to be grumpy and irritated. In recent years, TV Series' have become an essential part of our lives. A heartfelt thanks to all the writers and actors who put a smile on our faces with their humour and wit. Comedy isn't only about being funny, it is a perspective on greater problems in a jovial way; it questions the long-standing, archaic human emotions. Feeling low? Watch a funny show, you will feel positively better. Whenever it comes to comedy shows, 'Friends' and 'Seinfeld' among others always take the cake. But, there are a lot of other shows which don't get their due because of not enough fanfare or publicity, even if they are funny and have good material. Under the more popular opinion, these shows tend to get underrated. Being a 'Friends' fan myself, I can't possibly think that there is some other show which might come at par with it; this is where I stand wrong. If you only eat a particular type of food, you wouldn't get to experience the taste of others. So, branch out! Here are six of the best comedy shows (unfortunately underrated) which deserve a much bigger fanbase and greater popularity: 1. Grace and Frankie (2015-): What would you do if you found out that your partner of 40 years was gay? This is what happens to Grace Hanson and Frankie Bergstein who are well into their early 70s and find out that their respective husbands, Robert and Sol (played splendidly by Michael Sheen and Sam Waterston), are gay and have been cheating on them with each other for the past 20 years. Crazy, right? To top it off, Robert and Sol want to divorce their respective wives and get married. © Netflix / Skydance Television / Okay Goodnight This starts a series of hilarious incidents with Grace and Frankie leaving their husbands and moving into a beach house owned by both families. What follows is a funny train wreck. With starkly opposite personalities, the prim and proper Grace and eccentric, scatter-brained Frankie who hate each other and have never got along well, clash at every opportunity which ends up with comedic results; Frankie being declared officially by government offices, Sol becoming a theatre artist, Grace exploring her sexuality and dating pool, eventually Grace and Frankie becoming best friends and starting a vibrator business! If you think what a show with two old women could have in store for a young person like you, then you will be mightily surprised by the comedic elements and situations of the show; which is the main theme. Just give it a try! Why do we recommend it? - Jane Fonda is superb as Grace Hanson, the no-nonsense, uptight intelligent blonde and Lily Tomlin as the lovable, doofus, hippie-inspired Frankie Bergstein and they carry the whole show on their shoulders. - Their comedic timing is impeccable and their camaraderie from the “9 to 5” (another movie in which they starred together) days is fun to watch and effortless. © Netflix / Skydance Television / Okay Goodnight -An ensemble cast with June Diane Raphael and Brooklyn Decker as the Hanson daughters and the Ethan Embry and Baron Vaughn as the quirky Bergsteins are a hoot. - It shows how you don't need to worry about age to have fun and start afresh. Nothing more to be expected from Marta Kauffman, who gave us 'Friends'! You are sure to get a lot of 'Friends' vibes. No. of seasons: 4 Total no. of seasons: 5 (4 released, 1 to be released in 2019) 2. Schitt's Creek (2015-): Don't judge a show by its title! :D © CBC / Not a Real Company Productions When the uber-rich Roses lose their multi-million fortune to tax evasion, they are forced to leave their mansion and settle in a town, Schitt's Creek, which they once bought as a joke for their son's birthday. Follow the Roses as they try to adapt to their new life in this dilapidated town in America; starting with living in a descript, cheap motel and the town's horde of quirky characters; Roland Schitt, the creepy mayor and his innocent wife, Jocelyn among others. The series further follows the lives of the individual characters, and how they evolve; Johnny Rose: The patriarch, previous owner of a chain of video stores, Rose Videos, who is trying to come to terms with his loss and his new business ventures which mostly have funny repercussions. Moira Rose: A former TV star of a mildly successful show called 'Sunrise Bay' who can't cope with the sudden shift of fortunes and is still trying to maintain her lifestyle, complete with her over the top costumes and precious wigs (which she has individually named). Alexis Rose: The spoilt, slightly dumb and utterly selfish daughter who has breezed through life till now and been everywhere in the world, with her various rich boyfriends and is trying to be okay with her situation because she likes the vibe. :P David Rose: The gay, sassy son of the Roses, who needs everything in order and is not very happy with how his life has turned out and is trying to find some direction in life and also friends and love (and does so with the motel receptionist, Stevie Budd). © CBC / Not a Real Company Productions Why do we recommend it? -The iconic pair of Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara, who play Johnny and Moira, gives the laughs and the feels for the show. Their camaraderie is unbreakable. Catherine's Moira is superlative. Only she can pull off all those different accents and the whole uptight, classy lady act. For all the troubles they face, the love for each other doesn't diminish in the slightest. Eugene is Eugene, the affectionate dad from American Pie. -The episodes are funny and earthy; they have captured the essence of human relations and portray them through comic scenarios. -“Eww David!”, Alexis' (Annie Murphy, who plays the character brilliantly) catchphrase will make you laugh every time and will make sure that you won't be able to say and hear “David” normally again. Stevie (Emily Hampshire) and David (Daniel Levy) are friendship goals; they are adorable together. -Chris Elliot as the mayor, Roland, provides the creepiness required which is balanced by his counterpart, Jocelyn, played by Jennifer Robertson. No. of seasons: 4 Total no. of seasons: 5 (4 released, 1 to be released) 3. Full House (1987-1995): Even though it was a popular show, I somehow find that it doesn't get its fair share, being termed as a family comedy. A comedy about a recently widowed guy, Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), who along with his best friend, Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), and cool brother-in-law, Jesse Katsopolis, tries to raise and care for his three daughters. © WB Television / Miller Boyett Productions The series focuses on the crazy antics of the Tanner family and the hysterical situations they fall into owing to the kookiness of Joey, the OCD which Danny has and his obsessive nature and the cool dude factor of Jesse. The girls, DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, aged 10, 5 and six months, add to the charm of this family comedy. Why do we recommend it? - Before Joey Tribbiani was asking women how they were doing, it was Jesse, played by John Stamos who was making women go weak in their knees with his “Have Mercy!”. The character is tailor-made for John, with his obsession with his hair and music, he is the cool uncle we want and the guy everyone wants to be. Get a few pointers from him but follow them at your own risk! :P - Joey and Chandler are iconic, no doubt about that but so are Jesse and Joey. Their bromance will make you laugh all the way through its 8-season run. You could say that they were the “Chanoey” of the 80s. Aunt Becky (played by Lori Loughlin), Jesse's wife, doesn't have a chance. © WB Television / Miller Boyett Productions - The show features the now reclusive Olsen twins: Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen as Michelle Tanner. Starting out at the age of six months, it was their stairway to success. Prepare to get sappy with their adorable acting and laugh at their fights with her on-screen older siblings. - Danny Tanner, with his penchant for cleaning, will remind you of Monica. They are basically the same person; Type A, nerdy, cleanliness freaks, I can go on and on. You will find yourself relating to him. - Dave Coulier's impressions are legendary, and you get to hear Ted Mosby's 2030 voice before it became cool, i.e. the voice of Bob Saget. No. of seasons: 8 Total no. of seasons: 8 4. Community (2009-2015): This show is what we would call the runt of the litter. Even though it has intelligent writing and superb performances, it doesn't get featured much on the comedy scene. It has an unconventional brand of humour, mostly meta humour which most people don't get or are not used to in the conventional sitcoms. It features a sarcastic former lawyer, Jeff Winger, who has been disbarred owing to his lie about having a law degree from Colombia University, as a result of which he enrols into Greendale College in order to obtain an authentic law degree. After starting a fake study group to spend more time with his new crush, Britta (Gillian Jacobs) who is an activist for various causes, his plans go awry as she invites other students into the group. © NBC / Sony Pictures What follows is a laugh riot comprising of his struggle to finish his degree with minimum effort and having to deal with a host of weird fellow students and teachers while trying to enjoy his time as a student. © Pinterest Why do we recommend it? - Joel McHale as the glib, manipulative, suave ex-lawyer, Jeff, is perfection. His chemistry with classmate Britta is believably sweet. - Abed and Troy are poster boys for friendship. Their scenes together are tummy-tickling funny and the best thing about them is that they bring out the best in each other, Abed's influence and pop-culture mania make Troy carefree and different from his bully demeanour and Troy helps Abed to become more sociable. -Ben Chang, the eccentric teacher who is constantly changing his behaviour, played by Ken Jeong (of 'The Hangover' and 'Dr Ken' fame) is hilarious. Also, Shirley and Annie add to the insanity with their antics. No. of seasons: 6 Total no. of seasons: 6 5. Psych (2006-2014): A detective comedy which centres around Shawn Spencer (James Roday), a crime consultant who has made people believe that he is a psychic and is then mainly hired by the Santa Barbara police department for solving complex crimes. What no one is aware of is that he is no psychic, but he has just heightened observational skills and a strong eidetic memory. He is joined by his best friend, the only one on the secret, Burton Gunser (Dulé Hill) who is extremely intelligent and apprehensive about joining him initially. Together, they solve crimes with hilarious incidents preceding it. © NBC Universal Television Studio / Universal Cable Productions Why do we recommend it? - The comedy is not derivative and very real. There is no canned laughter and the series relies on the comic timing of the leads completely. - The episodes are not over the top and unlike other comedies has a story. The stories are well-executed and don't drag on. - The episode starts with a memoir from the childhood of both leads usually ending with a life lesson which further helps them in cracking the case. © NBC Universal Television Studio / Universal Cable Productions No. of seasons: 8 Total no. of seasons: 8 6. Everybody Loves Raymond (1996-2005): Created by the talented Philip Rosenthal, with events inspired by his own life, it is an uproarious comedy about Raymond Barone (Ray Romano), a successful sports writer for the newspaper “Newsday”, who is sarcastic and irresponsible and as a result constantly finds himself in the middle of some or the other funny argument or jam, a creation of his own callousness. The constant struggle between his wife Debra and his mother, Marie, keeps throwing him in a tight spot, from which there is no easy escape without offending one of them. Yet again, if not these two women, he is bound to get in the middle of some familial argument, which doesn't go well for him due to his indecisiveness on any matter which sure entertains the viewer. Raymond's knack for joking even in serious situations also lands him in hot waters; he doesn't know when to crack jokes and this makes him adorable. © CBS / HBO Independent Productions / Where's Lunch Why do we recommend it? - The dry humour is a respite from the slapstick humour recent shows provide and are heavily dependent on. You are bound to get a 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' vibe while witnessing Debra (Patricia Heaton) and Marie (Doris Roberts) arguing. - The sibling rivalry between Raymond and his older brother, Robert, a giant of a man with a sweet disposition, who is not so famous and is clearly not the parents' favourite, will surely remind you of your sibling! They keep arguing throughout the show because Robert is constantly jealous of Raymond's celebrity and likability but loves him deep down. - The show explores how family is important and how much it matters to have a loving one and how it changes you. Frank Barone, typical of his American-Italian heritage is shown to be tough but is a loving father under the surly exterior; which Raymond has adopted in a way which is a bone for contention in his and Debra's marriage. No. of seasons: 9 Total no. of seasons: 9 Now that you know that there are better shows out there, go get your fair share of laughter!
  18. When it comes to quirky outfits, no one does it better than Ranveer Singh - except Karan Johar. KJo has been giving Baba a run for his money every day, and he casually steps out wearing stuff that are legit head-turners. For example, he just stepped out wearing a sweatshirt that reminds us of 'Scribble Day' - the last day of school when your buddies would leave you notes on your shirt. Remember? © Viral Bhayani Now, we like everything he's wearing here, but what we couldn't help but notice is the 'To-Do' list on his sweatshirt. This list is so on point, it might as well be KJo's actual 'To-Do' list, the one that he follows (and we wish we could). © Viral Bhayani It says: Get haircut, Buy socks, Laundry (well true because do you know how many clothes he owns?), Mani-pedi (which men should start doing regularly, please), and, well, who doesn't want to 'get trashed' after a long hard day? © Viral Bhayani We thought the sweatshirt is the most interesting part of the outfit, till we really noticed his sneakers. He's wearing the Versace Chain Reaction sneakers - a pair that's a must have for every sneakerhead. © Viral Bhayani © Versace The red shoes cost a whopping Rs 70K. (blinks) All we can say is, if you have that To-Do List, nothing is too extra. We're J, KJo.
  19. Face unlocking is now a major feature on smartphones that was first introduced by Apple's iPhone X. However, a new study shows that a number of smartphones' face unlock feature can be defeated by a simple photo. © OnePlus The Dutch Consumerntenbond organisation tested over 100 devices and found that over 30 of them could be unlocked by using a picture of the owner. There's a massive number of devices that aren't exclusive to any smartphone maker, as the likes of BlackBerry, Nokia, Lenovo, Sony, Xiaomi, Huawei were featured amongst others. Most of these smartphones that got fooled were budget smartphones and a few flagship smartphones such as the Huawei P20 Pro, Sony's Xperia XZ2 and the HTC U11 Plus. Smartphones that passed the test also feature a range of smartphones such as the Honor 10, HTC U12, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 6, Samsung's 2018 flagship smartphones and all 2018 iPhones. © Apple The organisation found that there were various smartphones that had could be unlocked straight away and some had more stringent face unlock settings. These stricter settings helped these smartphones to defeat photos. 21. Mark your calendars as the last and final season of 'Games of Thrones' is coming in 2019. The eighth season of the epic fantasy will premiere in April 2019, bringing an end to the decade-old saga. The most popular show in the history of the world television will feature the last six episodes in the coming year; an early trailer of the show was recently released. As the saga is nearing its end, fans are filling their social media feeds with all sorts of predictions and theories. Little has been revealed about the fate of each character by the makers of the show and George R. R. Martin himself. If you have watched all seasons of 'Game of Thrones' and you know about each of the characters, here is a definitive list of everyone who is going to die or come out alive by the end of season eight: 1. Daenerys Targaryen Status: Dead Reason: Daenerys has always claimed herself to be the rightful queen of the seven kingdoms. Since Season one, she has been fighting for the Iron Throne with her three dragons (now two). What would 'Game of Thrones' be without its strongest character alive? But, hold your horses, as most of the fan theories claim Khaleesi's death near the end of Season 8. Now when Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow are each other's new love interests, their alliance will further lead to the birth of the Targaryen baby and it is during her childbirth when Daenerys might die. Another theory which supports her death is her vision of Khal Drogo holding the baby, as she walks away from the Iron Throne. This also indicates that Daenerys might not become the ultimate queen of the seven kingdoms but save the seven kingdoms by devoting her life for the baby. In any way, Dany's death is the most heartbreaking but probable outcome fans are expecting. 2. Jon Snow Status: Alive Reason: The last time Jon Snow died, fans completely lost their minds and troubled the show makers with one single question: When is Jon Snow going to be alive again? And now it looks like the makers of the show have got some other plans for Snow. All we have to do is to wait for their (Daenerys-Jon's) baby. Maybe, he becomes the ultimate ruler. Jon has to remain alive anyway. Also, as per an interesting theory, Jon Snow didn't do what his cousin Rob Stark did. Rob was killed for his loyalty to Walder Frey. This is what Snow avoided when Cersei asked him to bend the knee. Maybe, Jon is destined to live long! 3. Sansa Stark Status: Alive Reason: Sansa is another lead character in the series. She is not going to die, not until she takes the ultimate revenge for her parent's death. It would also be interesting to see how Sansa would save herself from the army of the White Walkers. We wonder how nothing could kill Sansa till now, neither the harsh life in King's Landing, nor Ramsay Bolton's atrocities. She made it alive to Winterfell. It simply indicates that the lady of Winterfell will survive. 4. Bran Stark Status: Dead-Alive Reason: Bran's story has remained different from the others. Though Bran has already united with his sisters, he has somehow always been destined to become the Three-Eyed Raven. He may become immortal soon so metaphorically he will be dead but not really! 5. Arya Stark Status: Dead Reason: We are afraid that Arya won't be able to survive the attack by the army of the dead. In other words, the girl might indeed become 'No One'. It is a bit hard to accept her fate since Arya has been the ultimate survivor, living solely to avenge the death of her father, and to see her die for nothing would be heart-breaking. 6. Cersei Lannister Status: Dead Reason: But before Arya is killed, she has to kill Cersei anyway. Remember, Cersei is still on Arya's list of people to kill. However, there could be another reason for Cersei's death. We believe her own lover cum twin, Jaime Lannister is going to kill her. 7. Jaime Lannister Status: Alive Reason: Though Jaime Lannister is the Kingslayer, there is no way his brother Tyrion is going to let him die at the hands of Jon Snow or Daenerys. Jaime saved Tyrion's life and the same could happen to him! He is the only person Tyrion trusts after all. 8. Tyrion Lannister Status: Alive Reason: He can't be dead. He is now Khaleesi's advisor and Jon loves Khaleesi, moreover, Jamie is his brother, so evidently, nobody is going to kill him or at least succeed in their attempts to do so. Tyrion's ultimate purpose is going to be for a greater good. Even suggesting his name for the list of dead people would be so much injustice. 9. Theon Greyjoy Status: Dead Reason: In his pursuit of saving his sister Yara from the hands of Euron, it may be possible that Theon might kill himself. Moreover, Ramsay Bolton has caused him so much physical and psychological damage that one can't possibly imagine what must be going through his mind right now. We are sure, Reek would keep coming back to him and that may be the ultimate reason for his death. 10. Yara Greyjoy Status: Dead Reason: Euron Greyjoy would kill her! Yara might not be able to see herself being saved by Theon. It was easy for Euron to capture Yara and make Theon run away. 11. Brienne of Tarth Status: Dead Reason: She is one character of utter importance in 'Game of Thrones' in all aspects. Brienne has pledged her life to Sansa and Arya, and there is no wayshe is going to leave them alone when the army of the dead reaches Winterfell. She would ultimately die fighting the war in the North. 12. Podrick Payne Status: Dead Reason: Who really cares if he is alive or dead? Podrick is a man without a purpose! 13. Samwell Tarly Status: Alive Reason: Sam has already faced the White Walkers and even killed one. He would go to any extent to serve his real purpose and save Gilly and the baby. Also, he is the cutest character in the series and Jon Snow's best friend. We aren't expecting his death. There is also a theory which states that the entire time, it was Samwell Tarly who was narrating 'A Song of Ice and Fire'. 14. Gilly Status: Alive (Maybe) Reason: It would be harsh to kill Gilly and let Sam be alone taking care of the baby. This is the only reason she might be able to come out of 'Game of Thrones' alive, however, things could take a different turn too. We have seen many unexpected deaths so far. 15. Little Sam Status: Obviously Alive Reason: Babies are harmless! 16. Lyanna Mormont Status: Alive Reason: She is fierce, unstoppable and a true lady. Not all queens are going to be killed, and she might be the one remaining untouched by death. 17. Jorah Mormont Status: Alive Reason: With Jorah Mormont finding a cure for his grayscale and back to helping Khaleesi and the team, we can't find any major reason for him being killed. As he would dedicate his life in fighting for the good, he might be the last amongst those surviving the war in the North. 18. Davos Seaworth Status: Alive Reason: The makers of the show have kept Davos alive till now and we believe he is going to survive further as well. Stannis could be killed but not Davos, people have got a different kind of admiration for him. 19. The Hound Status: Dead Reason: Cleganebowl, in an ultimate face-off! 20. Tormund Giantsbane Status: Dead Reason: He might die fighting the White Walkers. Though he has proved to be a medium between the Wildlings and the Crows, we are afraid he won't be able to last the fight. 21. Gendry Status: Alive Cause: What if we say that that Melisandre's magic is going to save him? 22. Bronn Status: Alive Reason: Since Jaime is going to survive, so does his best friend. 23. Varys Status: Alive Reason: Varys knows how to survive the worst. He has saved himself before from the wrath of Cersei, we believe he is going to stay alive to see his friend Tyrion's ultimate fate. 24. Ellaria Sand Status: Alive (For All We Know) Reason: Cersei is not going to kill her. Maybe, she stays alive, even if she has to watch her daughter die in front of her. 25. Edmure Tully Status: Dead (For All We Know) Reason: He may die in his cell! 26. Grey Worm Status: Dead Reason: He may die in a fight with the Golden Company only. Undoubtedly, he is a dedicated character. 27. Missandei Status: Alive Reason: We believe that Missandei is ultimately going to be the ruler of Meereen and Khaleesi would set her free from her role as Advisor to the Queen. 28. Daario Naharis Status: Dead (unclear) Reason: In season six, Daario and the Second Sons were left behind in Meereen and now when Daenerys has found her new love in Jon Snow, Daario's fate remains unclear. He would most probably be dead unknowingly. 29. Jaqen H'ghar Status: Alive Reason: Since he is 'No One', maybe he was already dead all this time! 30. Meera Reed Status: Alive Reason: She is the one who brought back Bran safely to Winterfell. Meera won't be seen in Season Eight, we are hoping that she will still be alive somewhere 31. Hot Pie Status: Dead Reason: Since the White Walkers would be taking over the North, Hot Pie might die without doing anything. 32. Grandmaester Ebrose Status: Alive Reason: No particular reason for him to be dead. 33. Beric Dondarrion Status: Dead Reason: Though his friend has saved him many times by bringing him back to life, he may be dead in the final season. 34. Melisandre Status: Dead Reason: The red woman is actually old anyway! Remember when she took off her red hood and necklace? She has given a second life to Jon Snow but we aren't sure if she has much left to her role. 35. Euron Greyjoy Status: Dead Reason: A complete villain, he is destined to die. 36. The Mountain Status: Dead Reason: Do we need to say Cleganebowl again? 37. Qyburn Status: Dead Reason: Being one of those on Cersei's team, he has to meet his ultimate fate and that is death. 38. Robin Arryn Status: Dead Reason: Why is he alive till now, especially when his parents are dead? He should have died when he humiliated Sansa! 39. Night King Status: Dead Reason: Season Seven was the first time we saw the Night King in full action. He effortlessly killed one of Khaleesi's mightiest dragons with his big icicle, convincing everyone that he is untouchable. However, one popular fan theory suggests that the Night King would ultimately win the war. He would later shatter himself to pieces as he sits on the Iron Throne (which is made up of a thousand valerian steel swords). If that has to happen, it would be one of the most bizarre endings to the show. 40. White Walkers Status: Alive Reason: The army of the White Walkers is so huge, that it is just impossible to kill them. Even if a major chunk of them die from the wrath of Khaleesi's dragons, there isn't a probability that all of them are going to be killed. As per the predictions, a major war is going to be fought between the living and the dead inside Winterfell and not all living will be able to kill the dead.

  23. Humans are said to be the most intelligent among all species; with a highly developed brain and thinking capabilities. Yet, more times rather than less, we tend to do things which can be construed as one thing- stupid. When these things happen, you are left to feel embarrassed by your own clumsiness and folly, trying to rectify them or salvaging the situation by mentally berating yourself and praying that no one gets to know about it. Nothing to worry, it happens to the smartest of us. These lead to hilarious anecdotes for which you are often teased about (if someone sees you committing these goof-ups) or reminisce on a later date, laughing about your incredible kookiness. The reasons for doing these things can be due to our scattered thoughts, inattentiveness, daydreaming or, sorry to say, dumbness. :P Do you think you are not guilty of doing such things? Well… Here are a few instances of dumb things that we do, either inadvertently or sometimes while being aware of it: 1)The Elevator Exasperation: Pressing the button for the elevator multiple times, even though it has already been pressed (thinking it will make it move faster). 2) The Refresher Remedy: Refreshing the computer screen even though knowing it'll do no good. 3) The Ensemble Escapade: Wearing the jacket/shirt/t-shirt inside out or the other way around or in some cases, forgetting to wear pants. 4) The Trial By Telephone: Calling a person and forgetting what you were about to say. 5) The Search Party: Call someone and then search for your phone in panic or holding the phone in your hand and then run around searching for it. 6) The Liquid Wonder: Trying to drink from a bottle with its cap closed. 7) The Computer Communicator: Talk to the computer/laptop screen, asking it to work faster. 8) The Telephonic Teleportation: Doing all sorts of unimaginable, weird things while talking on the phone. © Pinterest 9) The Forgetfulness Fortitude: Forgetting your favourite thing when someone suddenly asks you what it is. 10) The Online Oscillation: Ordering stuff online and clicking on “track package” immediately. © Pinterest 11) The Chocolate Catastrophe: Throwing the chocolate in the dustbin instead of the wrapper. 12) The Sudden Sunday: Waking up with a jolt, freaking out and then realizing it is Sunday. 13) The Walking Wonderment: Walking up a path, trying to overtake the slow-walking person in front of you, only to realize you had to go the other way. 14) The Dragon Breath: Eating exceptionally hot food, all the while knowing that it is hot and then blowing the steam out of your mouth like a dragon. 15) The Musical Mystique: Putting your earphones in, waiting for the music to start. Getting worried that the phone is broken and then realizing that you didn't click “PLAY”. 16) The Remembrance Revival: Walking into a room and forgetting what you wanted. 17) The Spectacles Tournament: Trying to find your spectacles, asking around, getting freaked, only to find it lodged on your head. 18) The Waiter Waltz: Saying “You too”, when the waiter at a restaurant tells you to enjoy your meal. © Pinterest 19) The Animated Apology: Apologizing to inanimate objects when you hit them. © Pinterest 20) The Honking Heroics: Honking at the person in front of you while being stuck in a traffic jam or a red light. 21) The Ouch Overlap: Inadvertently hitting someone else and saying “Ouch”. 22) The Seat Belt Massacre: Trying to get out of the car with your seatbelt on. 23) The Awkward Hug-Shake: Going in for a hug while the other person extends a handshake. 24) The Ignorance Ignorance: Texting someone even though you can make out that they are ignoring you. 25) The Information Inaccessibility: Forgetting information just when you need it. 26) The Transparent Trap: Walking straight into a glass door. 27) Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind: Keeping things in the most random places; like your stapler or shoes in the fridge or your phone in your closet. 28) The Earphone Eulogy: Getting up with your earphones still connected to the laptop. 29) The Waving Wavelength: Waving at a person only to realize they are not who you thought. 30) The Hot Plate Occurrence: Touching something hot even after being told it is hot and then cursing. Now, don't say that you're not guilty of any of these! :P
  24. 2018 has been a great year for movie buffs. Where on one hand films like 'Avengers: Infinity War', 'Black Panther', 'Venom' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' did an incredible business at the box office, others including 'A Star Is Born', 'Crazy Rich Asians', 'A Quiet Place' and 'Hereditary' gave us some major storytelling goals. Many film-makers have kept the best of their works for the year-end and this winter, some amazing Hollywood films are being released. Below is a list of films you can't afford to miss before the year ends: 1. Aquaman 'Aquaman' is already making waves and has remained a much-awaited film this year. The film stars Jason Momoa, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, and Dolph Lundgren. The superhero movie by DC Comics has just broken the advance ticket sales record of all time leaving behind 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Venom'. The new trailer of the film reveals much about the story of 'Aquaman'. Directed by James Wan, 'Aquaman' will premiere first in the UK on December 14, 2018, and in India on December 21 this year. 2. Creed II Written by Sylvester Stallone, the second part of the 2015 sports drama 'Creed' is around the corner. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Florian Munteanu, Dolph Lundgren, Phylicia Rashad, Andre Ward, Wood Harris, Brigitte Nielsen, and Milo Ventimiglia, the film revolves around the life of Adonis Creed who meets his new adversary Viktor Drago (son of Ivan Drogo). The movie has been shot in Philadelphia and is expected to be a more blended version of 'Creed'. 'Creed II' is the eighth instalment in the classic 'Rocky' series and is set to be released on November 30, 2018, in India. 3. The Front Runner What is now being perceived to be Hugh Jackman's Oscar-worthy performance by the critics, 'The Front Runner' is surely a movie that is making much noise. Directed by Jason Reitman, the biographical drama is based on the book 'All the Truth Is Out: The Week Politics Went Tabloid'. Starring Hugh Jackman, Vera Farmiga, J. K. Simmons, Sara Paxton, and Alfred Molina, the film narrates the story of Gary Hart (played by Hugh Jackman) and follows his life during the 1988 presidential campaign, as his downfall began due to media reports about his extramarital affair. The film has been released on November 21, this year. 4. Mary Poppins Returns Looks like the makers of 'Mary Poppins Returns' have tried their best in making this holiday season a sweet treat for us. Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep have teamed up for the third time after working together in highly commercial films like 'Into the Woods' and 'The Devil Wears Prada'. In the film, the mysterious Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) comes back to the Depression-era London. Mary, who is an ageless nanny with magical powers recreates wonder in their lives and makes them see a world beyond imagination. So 'gird your loins' as the perfect ensemble cast with Emily, including Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, and Emily Mortimer is ready to make your winters the sweetest one. The musical fantasy is a late December release 5. Bumblebee Sci-fi flick 'Bumblebee' looks like one film that can't be skipped at all. The film is centered around a 'Transformers'' character of the same name. It is a prequel to the 2007 film 'Transformers'. 'Bumblebee' stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, and Pamela Adlon. The film is set in 1987 when the transformer hides in a junkyard, only to be discovered by a teenage girl named Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld). As the two become friends, they begin their journey of saving the Earth from the evil transformers. Directed by Travis Knight, the film is set to be released on December 28 this year. 6. Mary Queen of Scots Perceived to be the most feminist film of the year, Josie Rourke's 'Mary Queen of Scots' is making headlines these days. Set in the 16th century England, the historical drama is based on 'Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart' (John Guy's biography). Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan portray queens Elizabeth I and Mary Stuart, respectively in the film. This a film about how two women fight for the royal throne until one of them loses the battle and is later beheaded. The cast also includes actors Gemma Chan, Guy Pearce, David Tennant, and Jack Lowden. The film is a December 7 release in the US and can be seen on a few streaming platforms in India. 7. Destroyer Nicole Kidman is undeniably one of the best actresses in the world. Years back when she imitated Virginia Woolf and bagged her first academy award for 'The Hours', we knew she is a chameleon in the making! Years later, when Nicole is ruling both cinema and television, she has made sure to keep rediscovering her own self as she effortlessly slips into new characters. Nicole's latest flick 'Destroyer' is being discussed these days, so much so, that it looks like the film is resting upon her shoulders completely. Directed by Karyn Kusama, the film is centred around the life of an LAPD detective Erin Bell (played by Kidman) who suffers a breakdown during her tenure as an undercover agent. She later finds her way by taking down the gang leader, a process that completely redefines what a woman should be like on the silver screen. The film's initial release is scheduled to be on December 25, this year. 8. Robin Hood Leonardo DiCaprio has devoted his time and energy in co-producing the film called 'Robin Hood', which is now running in theatres. Starring Jamie Foxx, Taron Egerton, Jamie Dornan, and Eve Hewson, the action-adventure is majorly based on the epic of 'Robin Hood'. Taron Egerton plays 'Rob' and tries his best to outperform others who have worked in the earlier versions of the film. The makers of the film have tried to keep it new, though this is a story that we have heard of before. The film is directed by Otto Bathurst and has received mixed reviews. 9. Second Act The air in Hollywood was different this year, unlike the previous year when female-oriented films ruled the box office. In December, pop singer Jennifer Lopez is making her comeback to films with her rom-com 'Second Act', directed by Peter Segal. The film's cast also includes actors Vanessa Hudgens, Leah Remini, Annaleigh Ashford, Dan Bucatinsky, Freddie Stroma, Milo Ventimiglia, Treat Williams, and Larry Miller. The film revolves around a 40-year-old woman played by Lopez, who gets a second chance to revive her career. Everything starts with a fake Facebook page! This seems to be an interesting feel-good kinda film. 10. Ben Is Back The trailer of Julia Roberts-starrer 'Ben Is Back' released a month ago and without a doubt, the film looks promising in terms of storyline and performances. Directed by Peter Hedges, the story of the film which is majorly focused on Ben (played by Peter's son Lucas Hedges), takes a different turn when he returns home on a Christmas Eve and creates trouble for his family. His mother Holly Burns (Julia) tries her best to find Ben, as he runs away leaving her in the middle of nowhere. The film is an intense family drama and is set for release on December 7 this year.
  25. There's only one thing Mark Ruffalo is known for more than playing the character of The Hulk. Well, any guesses? It's an easy one. Giving out spoilers of course, and if you are a Marvel fan, you know how seriously Marvel and the Marvel fanbase actually takes spoilers. But, we all still love Mark, even though he f*cks up sometimes, he's like a little puppy that you can't stay mad at. Instead of showing disappointment, let's all celebrate this man and how much extra information he gives all the fans, accidentally of course. Here's us looking back at all the times Mark didn't know when to shut up - or shut off his phone - which probably landed him in hot water with Marvel and Disney. The first, and the arguably the best, Mark screw up till date has to be the Instagram live incident at the premier of 'Thor: Ragnarok'. The poor guy was just trying to do something nice for the fans by going live on Instagram but didn't realize he never ended that live. Oh, Mark. So, he ended up 'leaking' his own movie at the premier itself and over 2000 people heard the starting of the movie. Oops! He also revealed how everything went down at the theatre later on as well. Basically, his phone was blowing up with people trying to inform him he was still live but he didn't want to check his phone while watching a movie and here's when his manners shouldn't have mattered. Disney had to literally send someone to yell at Mark to turn off his phone. Then comes an 'Avengers: Infinity War' spoiler that no one even realized was a spoiler at the time. I would like to apologize for bringing up the ending of that movie but it's important. While we were aware that we would see many characters die in this movie, no one expected the list to be that long. It was impressive to see how Marvel kept this all under wraps but then an interview of Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle with 'Good Morning America' from last year resurfaced and became really relevant again because obviously Mark really couldn't help himself from giving out a major spoiler. Classic old Mark, tbh. Uh oh, @DonCheadle, is @MarkRuffalo going to get in trouble with @MarvelStudios now!? #InfinityWar #D23expo pic.twitter.com/WR5C1QCBTb — Good Morning America (@GMA) July 16, 2017 While talking about 'Thor: Ragnarok', “Every other Marvel movie, it doesn't end well for the superheroes.” Well, he should've stopped at that but of course, he added, “Wait till you see the next one, everybody dies.” Oh, Mark. Don's reaction probably summed up Marvel's reaction as well. And then comes the time when he was 'fired' from MCU after giving out spoilers during an interview with Jimmy Fallon. The best thing about Mark, though, is that he at least tries to cover up his mistakes and that's what he tried this time as well. But, since he doesn't think before speaking about multimillion-dollar movies, he obviously doesn't think before tweeting about it as well. .@JimmyFallon, I trust that you will cut my spoiler slip on the show tonight. That was “off the record” homey. Please don't get me in trouble with Marvel (Barry) again. DM me back. M — Mark Ruffalo (@MarkRuffalo) October 5, 2018 Here's the clip in question - I LOVE YOU @MarkRuffalo WITH OR WITHOUT SPOILERS #FallonTonight pic.twitter.com/ZSkPJfdp2v — αâÑ | IT'S MARK AND SCARLETT'S BIRTHDAY (@bannersfluff) October 6, 2018 This spoiler incident was obviously a joke and Jimmy kept it up as well. Dude, it's too late - already sent the final show to Burbank for air. Are you sure you're gonna be in trouble? We could maybe bleep it out. What is “DM”? https://t.co/GMds1hGO8X — jimmy fallon (@jimmyfallon) October 5, 2018 But, it was too late. The Russo brothers got to know about it before Mark could fix it, and well, now you know the reason if The Hulk does not show up in the next Avengers movie. Mark, you're fired. — Russo Brothers (@Russo_Brothers) October 6, 2018 He also did some damage control. Guys... can we talk about this? https://t.co/PYe56UiUgO — Mark Ruffalo (@MarkRuffalo) October 7, 2018 In the end, I would just like to say that Mark please never stop giving us spoilers, we're all waiting for anything about 'Avengers 4'. So leak something already. Thanks.
