  1. Just a day after sharing the teaser, Mumbai Saga makers have now released the first song of the film Shor Machega. The foot-tapping number has been sung by none other than Yo Yo Honey Singh and also, he has composed the track along with Hommie Dilliwala. The song takes place in the jungle-themed bar and it takes you back to the era of the 80s and 90s as the movie is set in that time period. You do get to see Emraan Hashmi and John Abraham in the song but it’s mostly the artists themselves conquering the screen. After listening to the song, we were a tad bit disappointed and felt the song was respective to a point where it started to feel stretched. Here’s the song: There were people who loved the song and are calling it a hit. © Honey Singh Instagram © Honey Singh Instagram Then, there were people who echoed our emotions and felt the song wasn’t up to the mark. They, in fact, went to say that Honey Song has lost his charm and he has got the ‘Tony Kakkar virus’. It’s because even Tony has the habit to repeat his lyrics and has a particular style. People want the old Honey Singh back in the game. © T-Series YouTube © T-Series YouTube © T-Series YouTube Sharing his journey with us, Honey Singh had exclusively told us, “It's been a long journey and I think mein ek jawab mein isko sum up nahi kar sakta. Keeping it short, I would want to tell you that I started as a music producer and I had never imagined that I will be pursuing singing. In the initial stage, I was serving the Punjabi music industry for a good 5 to 6 years and during that time, I bagged quite a few awards as a music director. And then dheere dheere, I started writing songs for other people and then finally, my team decided that we should start singing. Well, I, then, launched myself as a solo artist. I made Brown Rang in 2011 and shot in 2012. The song started to trend and from there, there was no looking back. I think I haven't really struggled. I believe the struggle is when you have the talent and you still are not getting your due. I have been lucky as I have got opportunities since the beginning.” Talking about Mumbai Saga, the film follows the story of John’s character Amartya Rao who has only one goal in life - to rule the city. Amartya rose from the streets of Mumbai and wanted to own the city as a ruthless gangster. He had a stronghold but things change for him after he murders a top industrialist. A prize of Rs 10 crore is announced for his life and it’s Emraan Hashmi who plays the cop that takes up the challenge. Excited about the movie? Let us know in the comments below! 2. The title is pretty evident and if you clicked while crooning to Brown Munde just like I am playing it in the background as I type this, then here are 10 recommendations that might have missed your radar and are perfect for that evening ‘gedi’ with yaar dost: 1. Excuses AP Dhillon is that new dude on the block who is making waves across the globe with his ‘desi’ hit Brown Munde. His new release Excuses is about a dude explaining a girl how heartbreak will feel like once she experiences it. While he’s as it, he’s ensured there’s some dope music added to the lyrics which is perfect for a long drive. 2. Riri Trust Diljt to win hearts like his name, literally. The Punjabi king, who has taken the nation by storm by extending his support to the farmers' protest and has taken upon him the responsibility to impart moral lessons to a certain Bollywood actress, has come up with another track for international pop queen, Rihanaa. Only Diljit can talk about buying Punjabi ‘jutti’ and ‘salwar kameez’ for miss Fenty, and make a chartbuster out of it. 3. Hukam Karan Aujla is back with another musical banger which has touched over 18 million views in less than 4 days. The music video is also pretty cool, like all his musical outings. 4. Mexico Koka Another Aujla track on our list which is not as fresh as baked bread from last night, but then a little more Karan Aujla hurt no one. This one has a different vibe and a feel to it. 5. Dooja Pyaar The magical voice behind everyone’s favourite Khwaab, Akhil is back with another song laced with emotions. This one is about second love and the whole nuances around the experience. 6. Titliaan Warga This one is here only because it must be on our Punjabi list for the beginning of the year. Last year’s crazy hit’s sequel sung by Hardy Sandhu and penned by the prodigal Jaani is still ruling all charts and playlists. 7. Kadi Te Hans I guess if a legend like Atif Aslam even records his musical breathing, it will end up on our lists permanently. So when he took a classic number and gave it a twist of his own, it obviously had to go viral and also find a top spot on our ‘gedi’ list. 8. Pagal Nahi Hona The Mummy Nu Pasand singer, the gorgeous Sunanda Sharma’s new song starring Sonu Sood is a nice background score for some evening ‘car-o-baar’ outing. 9. Possessive Every once in a while, a song releases about the girlfriend either being possessive or demanding a ‘lehenga’. No idea why the writers are so obsessed with these demanding songs but this one has the melodious voice of Raashi Sood which is soothing. 10. Just A Dream This one is a great addition to your list in case you still haven’t managed to listen to this one. Sung by Prem Dhillon, this is stamped by Sidhu Moosewala himself . 3. Apple is harshly being criticised for not accompanying the iPhone 12 with a charger or earphones. In fact, even the older iPhone will now be sold without a charger or a pair of earphones in the box. The company says it's a decision to reduce its carbon footprint. While people are still divided over this particular decision, a lot of manufacturers have come forward to mock Apple. But we think one of the best responses to this came from Xiaomi. Here's what Xiaomi tweeted - We unboxed the #Mi10TLite - Atlantic Blue variant You'll get all the essentials, just with less plastic waste. Starting in Europe, we've committed to reducing plastic packaging by about 60%. pic.twitter.com/ai1yq3YR92 — Xiaomi (@Xiaomi) October 20, 2020 Xiaomi is clearly taking a jibe at Apple here with this particular tweet. That being said, we like what Xiaomi has decided to do. Instead of removing an essential accessory from the box, Xiaomi has decided to reduce plastic from its packaging. The company says it has decided to reduce plastic packaging by about 60-percent from its phones starting in Europe. We think this is much better to show your commitment to saving the environment without upsetting your customers or costing them more money. Not to mention, Xiaomi's solution will also help them save money on packaging. Other in-box accessories like the charger, earphones, and a TPU case are still very much present inside the box. © YouTube/Marques Brownlee Xiaomi is definitely making most of the controversy but they're also doing things in a more sensible way. What do you think about Xiaomi's response? Do you think it makes more sense than what Xiaomi is trying to do? Let us know by dropping a line in the comments below. View the full article
  4. India has a long and rich tradition of poems and lyrics. It wonât be farfetched to say that we have produced some of the best lyricists ever to have walked the earth. Be it Javed Akhtar, or Gulzar sa'ab, or even someone like Sahir Ludhianvi, we have had so many great lyricists, with such a wide body of work, that it is actually impossible to keep a track of their greatness. © BCCL Still, why not make an attempt at it? We have jotted down the names of a few lyricists who have produced an amazing body of work over the years, and whoâre still going at it. As a result, we cannot factor in the greats like Anand Bakshi, or Majrooh Sultanpuri. © Filmfare Now, we have to address the fact, that there have been blotches every now and then, especially with the current crop of âartistsâ who think that they have revolutionized Indian music with their music and cringe-worthy lyrics. © Twitter/its_badshah But by and large, we have a rich and colourful history. Here are a few lyricists that have contributed immensely to that history. Javed Akhtar (About 1200 Songs) © BCCL Javed Akhtar has been writing since the 70s, an era where scriptwriters werenât given credit in a film, so naturally, lyricists were far down the pecking order. Only when a really notable poet would write lyrics for a song, would it get publicised. In a career spanning almost 5 decades, Javed Akhtar has given us some seriously amazing lyrics to some of the most iconic songs. We reckon that he has probably given us more than 1500, or perhaps even 1800 songs. However, because giving credit to struggling writers wasnât even a consideration back in the 70s, we cannot say for sure. Shitala Pandey aka Sameer Anjaan(Over 4000 Songs) © Wiki Commons If you grew up during the 90s and could read, anytime you picked a cassette case, and read the name of the lyricist of any given sing, you would always find the line âLyrics By Sameer.â So much so, that there was a joke which said that Sameerâs first name was âLyrics By.â Lame jokes aside, Sameer Anjaan has the most credits as a lyricist to his name. As of 2015, he has written songs for over 650 Bollywood films, and a total of 3500 songs. As of 2019, he has over 4000 songs to his credit. Gulzar (Over 1000 Songs) © BCCL Gulzar saâab has a way with words that is simply mesmerising. You really cannot explain effect his lyrics have, they are something that you just have to experience. He has been writing lyrics since 1961. That is a career spanning nearly 60 years. A part of the Progressive Writers Association, Gulzar saâab has always chosen quality over quantity, and weâre really glad for that. Till date, he has written songs for well over 200 films Prasoon Joshi (Circa 400 Songs) © Wiki Commons The man who has given us some of the most iconic advertisements in India, and who now heads the CBFC, Prasoon Joshi had a rather short career as a proper lyricist. We genuinely wish that after his stint as the chairperson for CBFC, he starts writing lyrics again. In spite of being immensely popular, and very much in demand, Prasoon Joshi was very selective with his projects. In total, he has written songs for about 50 films in total. Irshad Kamil (Over 450 Songs) © IMDb Next, we have Irshad Kamil. Irshad is a poet who has been writing lyrics since 2004. Of the current lot of lyricists, he is one of the most in-demand lyricists. He started his Bollywood career with Sudhir Mishraâs Chameli so that should tell you enough, just how capable he has been. Amitabh Bhattacharya (Over 300 Songs) © IMDb And finally, we have Amitabh Bhattacharya, one of the most promising lyricists that we have today. Although he wanted to be known mainly as a singer, it was his lyrics that actually made the mark for him. He remains one of the most celebrated lyricists ever and has also won the prestigious National Film Awards for his work. Because he started out in 2008 and has mostly worked with a very close circle, the number of songs he has written is as high. However, weâre pretty sure that weâre just seeing him getting started. 5. As Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team are busy contemplating on ways to defeat Kane Williamson and the New Zealand cricket team in the two-match Test series after facing a whitewash in the ODI series in 22 years, there is another man, who has the nation on its toes, especially when it comes to his future with the squad. Former Indian captain and wicket-keeper batsman, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has made no announcements about his plans as an international cricketer, but is clearly having the time of his life spending some quality time with his ex-teammates, Parthiv Patel and Piyush Chawla. In a recent video shared by Viral Bhayani from his Instagram account, the 2011 World Cup winning captain can be seen listening to some old Hindi songs in a menâs washroom with some of his close friends, including former international cricketers Parthiv Patel and Piyush Chawla. View this post on InstagramBathroom Atmos (trademark to be registered ð¤ªð) @MSDhoni enjoying singer @Ishaankhanblive singing is the best thing you will see. @MSDhonifansclub @DHONIism #Bollywood #Music @BliveProductionA post shared by (@viralbhayani)Ever since Indiaâs unfortunate ouster from the ICC World Cup 2019, MS Dhoni has separated himself from the game of cricket for one reason after another. First, it was his decision to go on a two-month sabbatical to fulfil his duty as a part of the Indian Army, then he further extended it till November. Then in the final week of November, Dhoni said âJanuary tak mat poocho (don't ask me till January),â thereby further extending his off days by two more months. We are halfway through February and still no MS Dhoni. "Okay bye, Don't ask me till January" This is how Dhoni responded when reporter questioned about his future plans at yesterday's event. ï¸ pic.twitter.com/XT1uB8D7Tt â DHONIsmâ¢ ï¸ (@DHONIism) November 28, 2019While there is no update on Dhoniâs position in the international squad, he made it very clear that he will be returning to Chennai Super Kings for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League and add to his efforts making it the most successful franchise in the history of the league. Having lost to Rohit Sharmaâs Mumbai Indians in the finals last year, this season has to be all about redemption for âThalaâ. However, even before the season begins, Dhoni can be seen headlining another major event as he will be joining forces with Virat Kohli and Sharma to participate in the IPL All-Star Game which is scheduled to take place on March 24. 6. Talk about turning back the hands of time and there is probably nobody better than Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo to do so. In the first week of the new decade, Ronaldo is already looking to give us throwback goals not only with the way he was playing against Cagliari Calcio on Monday but even with the technology that he brought along to the Allianz Stadium. It's 2020 and Ronaldo's still rocking the iPod Shuffle 𤣠@brfootball pic.twitter.com/jBvZROY7Rz — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) January 6, 2020 Ahead of the game, when the 34-year-old arrived at the stadium and was interacting with the fans, he was spotted with a retro iPod Shuffle which first came out in 2010. Known for its unique ability (or disability) to not let the user decide which song to play, the tiny music device with its 4GB (approximately 1,000 songs), became extremely popular 10 years ago. And even though the Shuffles were discontinued in 2017, there demand didn't seem to fade and were easily available on resale for less than Rs. 2,000. However, it wasn't just the iPod that looked like something from a decade ago. The Juventus Forward too looked like his old self as he registered his first hat trick of 2020 against Cagliari and made it an easy sail for his side. Ronaldo's first game of the decade. Ronaldo's first hat-trick of the decade. Are you not entertained?! ð pic.twitter.com/PiMoQw3ljX — ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) January 6, 2020 While being dominating in the first half of the match, the reigning champions were only able to get on the scoresheet in the 49th minute when Ronaldo stole the ball away from the defenders thanks to a massive blunder at the hands of Ragnar Klavan right in front of his goal. The 2018-19 Serie A MVP scored his second goal off a penalty given to him thanks to some excellent dribbling by Paulo Dybala in traffic, which proved to be too much for the Cagliari defence to handle without fouling. Ronaldo finished his hat trick, which is also his first in the history of the tournament with an easy grounded shot off a Douglas Costa assist in the 82nd minute. After a 4-0 win at home, Juventus are now second in the Serie A standings behind Inter Milan with 45 points a piece. View the full article
  7. If you've never heard of the French acoustic engineering company called Devialet, then you're either not into sophisticated audio equipment or you're not the kind who'd spend freaking Rs 1.3 lakh on a speaker. Either way, I won't blame you, but I'd like to introduce a fantastic piece of technology today. Meet, the 'Phantom Reactor 900' by Devialet. A tiny speaker that literally packs a surprising amount of punch. It's one of those speakers that'll make you appreciate the music that you're listening to. The folks over at Devialet let me borrow a Phantom Reactor for a couple of weeks and here's what I think about it - © MensXP Tiny Alien Egg From The Future! As you can see, the Devialet Phantom Reactor looks like a tiny alien egg. Not going to lie, I've never seen a speaker so pretty that I don't even feel like tossing it off aside unlike most other speakers that I have. It's something that you'd want to keep at the forefront like a showpiece. I got the Matte Black colour variant of the speaker to use, but it also comes in an "Iconic White" colour, which has a glossy surface. I would, any day, prefer the white variant over this one, but that's just me. © MensXP Although the overall footprint of the speaker is small, it's surprisingly heavy. It's over 4kgs, which is why I'd say it's not exactly portable. I mean, you can unplug it and carry it around in your house or to your backyard, but it's not ideal to be carried outside. It doesn't have a battery too, which means it'll always be hugging a power outlet. Overall, I'd say it's one of the most beautiful looking speakers out there. If you have a minimal setup at your home, then the Phantom Reactor would blend in seamless without sticking out like a sore thumb. The iconic egg-shaped design of its big brother, Phantom, adds a lot of personality to it. It looks straight out of a sci-fi movie, to be honest. © MensXP Impressive Sound The Phantom Reactor looks cool and all, but what about the sound quality? Well, it's fantastic. In fact, it's loud and exquisite, to be precise. Yes, that's how I'd put it. I was blown away by the output coming out such a small package. I mean, who'd have thought a small speaker like this would piss off my neighbours? It's one thing to listen to music, but it's a completely different experience to feel it. The Phantom Reactor will make you feel the music. Be it underground music, a mainstream EDM rave track or a pop title, the speaker sounds phenomenal. The bass response is the first thing that stands out. It's also a lot of fun to look at the bass drivers wobble. Here, take a look - via GIPHY The bass is super smooth and it leaves a kind of impact that no other speakers have been able to match, at least for me. Playing titles like Ricko James' "A Samurai's Death" or "Moon Face" that sends waves across the drivers is truly a sight to behold. What's interesting about the speaker is that there's no vibration on the speaker's body or its surroundings. You won't feel a thing if you touch the speakers, which is quite impressive. Besides the bass, there's another driver that handles the mids and the highs. The output for that comes from the grille on the front and it's said to output sound in a three-dimensional form. See that fancy grille on the front? Yes, that's it. I don't think it handled the whole 360-degree output very well, but if you place it appropriately in the room, then it'll fill very easily. It's all about the placement. © MensXP You can also choose to pair two of them and have a stereo effect. But that'll, of course, cost you a lot of money. But hey, good audio is expensive. There aren't a lot of speakers out there that'll make you feel like you're in a concert hall. It has a 900W peak power, after all. Connectivity The Phantom Reactor comes with an app that can be used to connect and lay music. You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker or sync it to a local network and play it via AirPlay, Spotify Connect or UPnP. There's a 3.5mm jack for input too in case you want to use that. The Phantom Reactor has touch-sensitive controls on the top and you'll be prompted to use these while setting up. You can also just tap the Bluetooth button to pair on the go, and that's the easiest way to connect to the speaker and play music. The Devialet app also works well, but for some reason, it asked me to set up the speaker every time I closed and opened the app again. © MensXP The setup process, mind you, takes quite a bit of time, so it's quite annoying to see it happen all the time. The companion app definitely needs some work, but otherwise, I really like the UI and the way it lets you control everything. The Final Say So, is the Phantom Reactor worth buying? Well, in case you don't know, the Phantom Reactor costs Rs 1,29,000 in India. Yes, that's Rs 1.3 lakh, which makes it one of the most expensive speakers that you can buy in the country. Assuming that you're willing to splurge that much on a speaker, I'd say you won't regret it. © MensXP Powerful and punchy bass is Phantom Reactor's forte and it'll truly make you feel like you're in a concert hall if you turn the volume all the way. It'll truly change house parties for you, and you'll never want to go back to normal speakers again. The Phantom Reactor looks fantastic and sounds incredibly good. Save for a couple of minor issues with the app, I'd say it's a damn good speaker. Buy it, if you want to feel and experience the song instead of just listening to it. View the full article

The new 1MORE portable Bluetooth speaker, as you can see, has a very simple design. It looks very similar to, say, the Google Home Mini or Amazon's Echo Dot speaker. 10. Apple announced a brand new iPod touch yesterday with a familiar design targeting a familiar audience. Apple has always been deeply involved with music and if you love to listen to music on-the-go, the new iPod touch is for you. The iPod touch is probably the only comprehensive portable music device you can buy right now and Apple has updated it with some great features and hardware. Apple customers may already own an iPhone but not everyone has upgraded to the latest device and are taking advantage of some exclusive features such as Augmented Reality games and the ability to use AirPods without any hassle. The iPod touch is the perfect gadget for someone who doesn't really need a new phone but still wants access to his/her music. The iPhone SE is also a great option to look at; however, storage space can be an issue as it maxes out at 128GB. So here are some of the reasons why you should think about buying an iPod touch if love listening to music: Upgradeable Software The new iPod touch comes with A10 Fusion chip which means you can upgrade the firmware of your iPod touch to at least iOS 14 when it comes out. Apple does a great job at optimising iOS for devices with older chipsets and the iPod touch will be no exception. It's More Than Just Music The iPod touch comes with Apple's A10 Fusion chip which basically enables Augmented Reality (AR) features, Group FaceTime and iMessage communication. Since the iPod touch is not a full-blown smartphone, you can use the iPod touch for various purposes such as gaming, basic communication and internet browsing. Gaming © Apple Since the iPod touch has Apple's A10 Fusion chip, it can handle most graphics intensive games and will be an integral part of Apple's upcoming Apple Arcade subscription platform. Apple Arcade will have the ability to people play games offline, and if you love to game on-the-go, the iPod touch is perfect for you. Augmented Reality © YouTube If you are interested in Augmented Reality apps, websites and games, the iPod touch is capable of delivering the same experience as the iPhone. It is by far the cheapest product by Apple if you want to use it for playing AR games. Augmented reality is also being used as a great tool for educational applications it puts virtual items in the real world around you. Music © Apple The primary purpose of having the iPod touch is for having the ability to store music on your device for offline play. You can also take advantage of music streaming by using Apple Music or Spotify and keep your favourite music locally downloaded on your device. If you love streaming radio, you have access to countless apps from the App Store or you could always listen to my favourite Beats 1 channel on Apple Music. It Has A Headphone Jack The iPod touch is one of Apple's latest devices that has a headphone jack. If you have invested in a nice pair of cans or earphones, you finally have a small device that is deeply integrated with Apple's ecosystem and enjoy music the way you want to. Using wired headphones always deliver a better audio experience and you can read more about it here It Works With AirPods If you are one of those people that prefer convenience over sound quality, you can pair Apple's AirPods seamlessly with the new iPod touch. This is partly thanks to the A10 Fusion chip and it was the same chipset that enabled the feature on the iPhone 7.
  11. Taking steroids to make your physique look a certain way has become as common as sipping on BCAAs in the gym today. Youngsters have started using it as a supplement and have normalized it beyond stupidity. A lot of gym trainers openly promote and sell these steroids to young kids to make a quick buck. Not only do they understand the downsides, but they also do not have the medical background or a degree to be recommending this. © Getty Images Before digging into fools who advise this, let me give you a brief on steroids. What Are Steroids? The definition of steroids is man-made oil testosterone, the male hormone. They integrate protein and help promote muscle growth. Types of steroids include anabolic and growth hormones. The definition of an anabolic steroid is, "Any drug or harmful substance, chemically and pharmacologically related to testosterone (other than estrogens, progestin, and corticosteroids) that supports muscle growth, burns fat, any drug or hormonal material that stimulates the endogenous result of steroids in the human body which acts in the same manner". Now Let's Check The Downsides Of Using Steroids: - Your heart health, kidney health, and liver health can go for a toss. - Your natural sperm production may get shut forever. - You can go bald. - You can develop breasts. - You will get acne. - The list can go on... Steroids can also affect you psychologically, as they can push you towards a state of depression, aggression, and can make you very hostile. Some bodybuilders and users are so aggressive that they have to use tranquillizes when not competing so they keep themselves calm and cool. People who advise you to take steroids are alarmingly not educated in this field. Who are they? 1) Bodybuilders: A lot of bodybuilders are not experts in the science of exercise and nutrition. They have coaches and they follow what's on their plans. Their knowledge is absurd and certain pieces of advice from them can harm you and aren't sustainable. © Getty Images Here are some gems of advice coming from them which do not make any sense: 1) Eat 6-7 meals: Well you don't have to eat 6-7 meals, because it's all about net calories. You can eat 4 meals per day and still gain muscle. 2) Train single muscle per day: Well, to grow muscle and recover you can train your all muscles 2x/week because our muscles recover within 24-72 hrs. You can put quality work for each session. 3) Eat a ton of protein to grow muscle: Well you don't have to consume a ton of protein. Muscle grows if you consume 1.8g-2.0g/kg/day. What actually is helping these bodybuilders build muscle? ANABOLIC STEROIDS. 2) Gym Trainers: Most gym trainers are a pain in the ass, as they will sell you literally anything just to pull money from your pocket. For them, money matters and why? Because through your money they can buy their steroids. It's like a toxic business circle. Let's understand a few facts: 1) You can build a good physique without taking steroids. As you read the disadvantages it can really harm you in many ways. 2) You are not a professional bodybuilding athlete and your earnings do not depend on it. 3) The steroid lifestyle is not sustainable cannot be done on a regular basis by many of you. 4) You need a huge amount of money in your bank account, to deal with regular checkups and various other requirements. 5) You will lose your gained muscles as soon as you come off steroids. Being natural will help you to keep those muscular gains forever. If your goal is to really look good with your shirt off, do this instead: 1) Proper customized nutrition which supports you to lose fat and build muscle. 2) A training plan which supports you to lift heavy and do more overall work overtime aka Progressive overload and high volume. 3) Manage training fatigue by taking some light week sessions and managing life stress. 4) Sleep 7-8+hrs daily to recover well so that you can build muscle. 5) Be consistent and have patience. It takes time to build a good physique. 12. Admit it, working overtime is never fun. Actually, it might be a little fun if it happens only once in a while, and we are adequately compensated for it too. But then, many would say it's too much of wishful thinking because obviously, such a thing does not really exist. As it gets more and more difficult for new-age employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance, owing to the ever-rising demands on their professional front, even a stray comment in encouragement of working overtime can be a pretty huge buzzkill. (c) Reuters Something similar happened very recently when China's richest man and one of the world's largest e-commerce companies Alibaba's founder Jack Ma spoke up in defence of the laborious overtime work culture in Chinese tech companies. What's even saddening is his belief that working overtime is nothing less than a “huge blessing” for young workers. All of this transpired during a speech that Jack Ma delivered to Alibaba employees encouraging the “996” work schedule, which basically refers to the 9 am to 9 pm daily work timings, for six days a week. (c) Reuters Insane, right? We agree! But if you are wondering where this logic stems from for the e-commerce magnate, read this, “I personally think that being able to work 996 is a huge blessing. Many companies and many people don't have the opportunity to work 996, if you don't work 996 when you are young, when can you ever work 996?” How about “never”, Mr Jack? Never at the cost of our physical and mental well-being at least. (c) Reuters But in his defence, Jack Ma thought the following excuse might be a valid justification. “In this world, everyone wants success, wants a nice life, wants to be respected. Let me ask everyone, if you don't put out more time and energy than others, how can you achieve the success you want?” We are all for working hard, and going that extra mile to get the job done to perfection, but what Jack Ma seems to have ignored in this entire monologue is that, there is a difference between working to achieve our dreams, and slogging to get to the nearest grave sooner. (c) Reuters Working overtime is by no means to be encouraged, especially at a time when millions around the world are struggling to maintain their mental well being, due to constant pressure and stress at work. Aspiring for a nice life might mean surviving through some sleepless nights along the way, but that surely doesn't mean giving up the peace and very life in order to live it. So, thank you for the suggestion Mr Jack, but we think we'll pass.
  13. 'Koffee With Karan' almost always manages to make the most unexpected become a reality. Why you ask? Because the latest episode of the show saw Prabhas' first ever talk show appearance, as well as three of Telugu film industry's biggest names SS Rajamouli, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, share the couch on the show! However, while the episode had been one cracker ride for the viewers, with much banter and inside scoop from the times of 'Baahubali' making its way to an excited audience on the other side of the camera, it is however the details of the rapid fire round on the show that caught our attention. View this post on Instagram The iconic pout has its admirers in the South too! #KoffeeWithKaran #KoffeeWithTeamBaahubali A post shared by Star World (@starworldindia) on Dec 23, 2018 at 8:42am PST Rana was the first to go, and said that Deepika Padukone is the hottest actress currently, while he would like to set up Prabhas with Katrina Kaif. On the other hand, when it was Prabhas' turn, he admitted that Deepika is indeed the best actress in Bollywood, but it is Trisha he would set up Rana with. Another point that cause some curiosity was the duo's mutual admiration of Telugu star Anushka Shetty, whom the pair crowned as the sexiest actress in the Telugu film industry. Opening up about the recent rumours around Prabhas and Anushka's romantic relationship, Prabhas said that those were really rumours after all. 14. In the last few years, a lot of companies have started skipping the headphone jack. It started with the iPhone 7, as Apple said there just wasn't enough space thanks to the taptic engine and that it wants the future to be wireless. While technically we do have wireless charging, the technology is still in its early stage and is not practical for day-to-day usage. After the launch of the iPhone 7, many other companies followed the trend by removing the headphone jack and then complemented the same with their wireless earbuds. In their defense, waterproofing does get a lot easier for companies, but then you still have to deal with the charging micro USB or USB-C. For the consumers, it meant you'll have to use a dongle to use your wired headphones. And the worst part is, you won't be able to charge your phone and see a movie simultaneously. The removal trend is now slowly being observed in the midrange segment as well. So, if you are an audiophile or just dislike carrying a dongle, these are the phones you shouldn't consider: 1. Every iPhone Since The 7: © Akshay Bhalla Like we said earlier, all the iPhone since the 2016's model skip the headphone jack. Apple announced the launch of AirPods along with the removal announcement and boy, people weren't happy. Truly, wireless earbuds like the AirPods are expensive and need to be charged separately. While the AirPods or almost every other earbud case has a portable battery backup available, you'll still have to charge it at some point. And this is the biggest problem of going wireless. You do get the convenience of not having to worry about wires, but then you need to look out for dead batteries. 2. Pixel 2 / 2XL: © MensXP Even Google followed the trend and decided to remove the headphone jack from its 2017 flagships. Google announced the launch of Pixel Buds as an alternative to the dongles, and that's when Android fans too lost their cool. Google, the king of Android, removing the headphone jack and following Apple? What sorcery is this? 3. Nokia 8 Sirocco: © YouTube The stunning Nokia 8 Sirocco too skips the headphone jack. Luckily, all other Nokia products launched this year sport one, except for the international flagship. The phone is among the most attractive phones of 2018 and is a part of the Android One program and runs on stock Android like all other HMD Global designed products. 4. Xiaomi Mi A2: © MensXP The Mi A2 was launched in India this week at a very attractive price, but it loses out on one essential functionality, the headphone jack. Xiaomi has made sure that the Mi A1 successor has a kick-ass camera, and we have to give it to them, the phone is near perfect in the midrange. The phone even has a USB-C connection, but no love for the 3.5mm jack. 5. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2: © MensXP The phone with one of the best edge-to-edge display, also misses out on the headphone jack. It is also the first phone in the Xioami portfolio to skip the legacy connector. In fact, Xiaomi's flagship Mi 8, that was launched last year, also skips the headphone jack. Though we must admit, the removal of the jack has forced companies to work on cheaper as well as better quality wireless buds. Read Also: Best Affordable Wireless Headphones in India
  15. Every good student has to develop a routine in order to perform well in exams. I have personally seen my colleagues in school and college going through elaborate rituals in order to score well in exams. From eating chocolates to reciting the 'gayatri mantra' exactly eleven times, I've seen it all. But this story of a guy bringing a record player to the exams is on a whole another level. Eric Saueracker was conducting the physics mid-term exams when he spotted an eerie looking device in front of one of his students. On inspection it turned out the device was a record player that the student had hooked up in the classroom as the teacher had banned cell phones for they could be used for cheating. Students are taking their Physics Midterm exam today. I said no cell phones, not even for music since they could be used to cheat. This student brought in a record player and is bumping Kanye in his headphones right now... pic.twitter.com/p57iMIal7D — Eric Saueracker (@esaueracker) April 11, 2018 The teacher later revealed on Twitter that the student in question actually did pretty well in the exam while listening to Kanye's West popular track 'college dropout'. As a follow up: @TheItalianPacca did ace the test whilst listening to college dropout... — Eric Saueracker (@esaueracker) April 12, 2018 Wyatt Prutch (@theitalianpacca) was also tagged by the teacher in her post later on and received a reply from Kanye Podcast who gifted him a copy of the Yeezus book for being such a fan of the mad rapper. 16. While the multi-million PNB scam involving Nirav Modi continues to grab eyeballs and the country lets out a collective sigh at the audacity of wilful defaulters, here is a beautiful anecdote from the past that is in stark contrast to the present situation. In 1964, former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri had taken a loan of Rs 5000 from PNB to buy a Fiat car. His son Anil Shastri reminisces, “We went to St Columba's School on a tonga. Once in a while we used the office car but my father did not allow us to use it regularly for any kind of private work. There was a demand at home that we should buy a car.” © TOI And so, they decided to buy a Fiat that cost Rs 12,000. Mr Shastri, who was known for frugal living, applied for a loan of Rs 5000 from PNB since they only had Rs 7000 in the bank. However, two years later, in January 1966, the-then prime minister passed away suddenly while on a trip to Tashkent. The loan was yet to be paid. Not one to shirk away responsibility despite tragedy, his wife Lalita repaid the loan with the pension she received. Anil Shastri told TOI https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/when-pm-shastri-took-a-car-loan-from-pnb-and-his-widow-repaid-it/articleshow/63002151.cms , “The loan remained unpaid. It was repaid by my mother (Lalita) from the pension she received after my father's death.” While the number of wilful defaulters in the country keeps increasing, this incident is a lesson in ethics. According to reports, there are 9339 wilful defaulters who owe over Rs 111,738 crore to banks in the country. The figures are in painful contrast to the number of suicides by farmers for loans amounting to only a few thousands. H/t – TOI
  17. There are only a few things in life you ought to remember until your deathbed and listening to Sennheiser's Rs 45 Lakh headphones is one of them. The HE-1 took 20 years to develop and when the headphones were handed to me, I felt genuine fear when holding them for the first time in my life. These headphones cost a lot of money, and the sense of nervousness creeps in because these headphones are pretty much triple the amount of my car. © YouTube The HE-1 are not like your ordinary headphones, these are electrostatic headphones which use a coil attached to a magnet to transfer audio output. The magnet is attached to a diaphragm and moves it to create the final output that hits our ears. If you do a generic Wikipedia search on Electrostatic drivers, you'll discover that sound is created through a very fine film that is a part of the headphone drivers. The film is the reason why one can hear crisp clarity which you cannot find in any run-of-the-mill headphone. The headphone itself is attached to an amplifier which uses eight vacuum tubes that are attached to a block of Carrara marble. The reason why Marble is used as the base is simply because the surrounding airborne noise can interfere with the tubes. #Orgasm #HE1 #headphones A post shared by Akshay Bhalla (Bhallanator) (@editorinchief) on Sep 22, 2017 at 3:25am PDT As I was walked into the room, I was given a brief rundown about the HE-1 and we got straight into it. An iMac was sitting right next to it through which the sound was being routed via USB. The tracks used for the test were Michael Jackson's ‘Thriller' and Strive's 'Amber Ruth'. In order to experience the full potential of the HE-1, WAV files were used that offer the highest digital quality possible. © Sennheiser Obviously, it's hard to describe the experience in words, however, there are a few things that need to be talked about. The sound on these headphones could pick up the lowest of frequencies possible and sounded clear and crisp. There was a moment when I was listening to “Thriller”, my emotions got the best of me and I felt a sudden burst of goosebumps. One could notice the panning from left to right as if you were sitting in a theatre. The bassline on “Thriller” is timeless and I could hear atmospheric tones which I would have never noticed on a normal pair of cans. Towards the end of my session, I noticed that I was staring into the vista cross the window and thinking deeply about the music I was listening to. It was as if I was lost in my own world, not blinking and time had stopped altogether. The perfection of the sound was so unequivocal that I did not even feel like leaving the room and subsequently went home and threw every pair of headphones I own straight into the trashcan. They really spoilt me with this one.
  18. It’s been an intense couple of weeks, honestly. There’s no better or worse way to put it. I’ve been travelling, yes. But, I’ve also been thinking… probably a little too much. This week’s playlist is basically a slightly more musical version of the puzzle that is my head. And it’s a shout out to all those who have been having grueling weeks, endlessly, to no avail. It’s an ode to all the overthinkers, romantics, clueless and confused souls who are too afraid to take the next step—in love, and in life—simply because they don’t know how to anymore, or because they’re too afraid to get hurt all over again. I am going leave it to the Universe and hope for good to come my way, as should you. In the meanwhile, you can listen to these songs. 1. Turn Blue – The Black Keys 2. Cry Baby – The Neighbourhood 3. Hold Me Down – Mansionair 4. The Less I Know The Better - Tame Impala 5. Little Bit Of You - Kevin Garrett 6. Surefire - John Legend 7. So Far From Me – Brett Dennen 8. I Found – Amber Run 9. Patient Love – Passenger 10. Till It’s Gone – Yelawolf
  19. After killing our ears in cold blood recently, Dhinchak Pooja is now a nation-wide sensation. Allegedly, she doesn't even stop her Riyaz for a single minute. But on the brightest side—while Apple Music is on the verge of including 'Selfie Maine Leli Aaj' to their global playlist, Justin Bieber too, regrets not singing a cover of the track at his recent concert in the country. Internationally—copyright clown, Taylor Swift is already in talks with her producers to copy Ms. Pooja's highly-intellectual track for her next big release. Jk! This isn't a song about boys or break ups, why the hell would she be interested? Moving on, the most crucial matter here is that living legend, Nana Patekar doesn't approve of Pooja's caliber! ©Instagram/Nana Patekar Fans At an event recently, that was playing Dhinchak Pooja's 'Selfie Maine Leli Aaj', Nana caused a major flare up, by giving the nightingale a piece of his mind. But here's the ultimate—he soon fired bullets out of rage, causing damage to property and bringing the event to a close. ©Instagram/Nana Patekar Fans Eventually, things got out of hand and Manisha Koirala turned into a mother to calm her teenager, Nana down. Don't believe us? Watch AIB's hilarious video here! Nana making sense. Like always. A post shared by All India Bakchod (@allindiabakchod) on May 26, 2017 at 2:43am PDT
  20. Mash-up, remix, and covers of original songs seem to be the latest fad in the music world. From ‘Kaala Chashma’, ‘Tamma Tamma’ to ‘Cheez Badi Hai Mast’, all these old songs have been turned into peppy numbers that we just can’t stop dancing to. Just like the Hindi ones, a lot of English songs too have been turned into ultimate mash-ups and Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ seems to be everyone’s favourite muse. © YouTube We have seen innumerable covers of this song by now, yet whenever a new one comes we can’t stop our hands from reaching out for the headphones. One such version is this epic Bhangra mix of ‘Do You Know’ and ‘Shape Of You’ by DJ Frenzy. Bhangra beats can uplift the mood of almost any party and when it’s our favourite singer Diljit Dosanjh crooning with Ed Sheeran, madness can only be an understatement for our excitement. At times when a Hindi song is mixed with a popular English song, both of them lose their essence and value in the process of mixing. But, this mash-up is by far one of the best we have heard. From feet-tapping beats to synchronized rhythm and tempo, this song packs everything we need for an epic Sunday party playlist. Although we found this fantastic video almost after two months, we are not regretting it one bit. Instead, we are listening to it on loop, to make up for the time we missed out on.
  21. It’s almost every day that I come across new music, through some way or the other. It’s like an addiction. Like when you’re out of your stash and you go out in search of some new stuff. That’s exactly what it’s like. And the thing about music is that it only gets better when it’s shared with everyone. So, here’s a list of the 10 songs that I’ve been listening to this week. Now, these are largely latest releases by current artists and bands. But, they’re either lesser known to most of us, or the music is insanely good enough to guarantee a spot on the list. So, in short, you should check it out. 1. Kissing Strangers – DNCE We know them from Cake By The Ocean; a song that is wild and crazy and all parts fun. Kissing Strangers is just as good if not better. The lyrics are smart and play out really well for the likes of us. You’ll even find a hint of their signature rhythm and melody in the groove. 2. Hard Times – Paramore Hayley Williams is back with her band Paramore after more than a year and we’re so glad to have her back, honestly. Before signing off the last time, the band gave us Ain’t It Fun and it was the best song on our playlists for a while because it appealed to our Rebel with a Cause side, blatantly. Hard Times is just as good and has a unique rhythm and tune of its own. Paramore knows how to change things up like that. 3. Emoji Of A Wave – John Mayer Where do I even start with this guy? I mean, his voice in itself can give women all sorts of spasms and men all sorts of complexities, no kidding. But, it’s the lyrics, the tune, the instruments and the feel of each of his song that sets you into a whole other zone completely. His latest album comes after John Mayer’s stint quite a few years ago and we’re so glad because The Search For Everything is gold! And it’s this particular song that is the magic of it all. 4. What Do I Know – Ed Sheeran Ed Sheeran’s Divide has been creating waves ever since it released, for obvious reasons. It’s by far, one of Sheeran’s best projects ever. And each track supersedes the previous one; I mean there’s so much variety in terms of music, lyrics, rhythm and genre that I’m pretty amazed at the versatility of Ed Sheeran as a musician. This is one of the lesser known ones, when compared to a Galway Girl, or Shape Of You but is so good it’s almost unfair you don’t know it yet. But, hey, what do I know? 5. Oh Man Oh Woman – London Grammar London Grammar is one of the sickest groups I know for the contemporary music, filled with soulful vocals and hard-hitting lyrics. You’d probably know Hey Now to be one of their most popular tracks. It’s been remixed by some of the best Dance musicians in the world, too. Their music is seriously something you should listen to if you’ve been looking for edgy and soulful with a hint of electronic that isn’t too obvious. This particular song by the group—one of their latest releases—is what’s on the charts right now and it’s as amazing as most of their previously popular tracks! 6. Done – The Band Perry The Band Perry became popular for the hit track If I Die Young—a country song talking about death of a young soul. It climbed the charts so soon and stayed there and has come to remain one of the popular cult songs for youngsters, even now. It’s a beautiful song, really. But, this particular track takes a complete 180 spin on its predecessor. It’s country badass at its best—talking about breakups with a zero-fucks-given attitude. It’s bloody awesome. 7. Attention – Charlie Puth It’s deviously good. Puth is one of the contemporary young guys whose voice is as good, if not better than, his looks. And he does justice to it too. If you’ve heard See You Again, One Call Away and Marvin Gaye, forget about those tracks for a bit. Attention is much more mature, a song and gives you a peak at what Charlie Puth is actually capable of, aside from being the nice guy with the cutesy songs. It’s one of those songs you could imagine play at a sultry do. 8. Passport Home – JP Cooper His track, September Song is one that most of you would know to be more popular. Passport Home is one of his more recent tracks and it’s mellow, with a subtle punch of emotion. It’s very current in its rhythm; gives you a little of an old school R&B song. It’s really a soulful song with all the right words. 9. Spirits – The Strumbellas I stumbled upon this one on my brother’s playlist some weeks ago. And ever since this track has been stuck in my head. It’s not just the lyrics, or the way the song kickstarts. It’s about every break, the way it’s been sung and the way it hits you in the head. 10. No Regrets – Magic! They rose to popularity with Rude and it was a favourite for every boy and girl, hoping to elope the fun way. What I like is that these guys bring a very subtle variation to each of their progressive songs. This last one is all guitar and acoustic and it’s a beautiful song. Very different from Rude, or Red Dress. It’s something different and yet, you can almost tell it’s by them.
  22. If you haven’t been living under a rock or located in a place where the Internet is still a far-fetched dream, then you might have come across the hashtag, #strandedbae, trending on Twitter and how some people are going bonkers over a couple’s very public fight. Well, we tried to decode it for you and let’s just say that we will need a lot of alcohol to get over this hilarious exchange of tweets. Hold on to your seats guys, pour yourself some beer and close every other tab because this sh*t is going to take you to some extraordinary level of creepiness and leave you rolling on the floor laughing. Don’t blame us though, if by the end of this post your mind is f**ked up because we have already lost our shit wondering what exactly happened and who should be blamed for all this. At one point we even wondered if Ekta Kapoor was behind the keyboard, writing all these tweets, because this saga of love, deceit, hatred and unpredictable twists, perfectly fits the bill for a saas-bahu drama. However, if there was anything worth noticing apart from the protagonists, it has to be this girl’s bae @KashMoneyKanee’s mouse. He stole the whole f**king show with just one cameo appearance. Well, coming back to the woman in question, @_iamqueenk, her Valentine’s Day was ruined because she ended up stranded at the airport while her date was busy partying with his friends and didn’t give two flying f**ks to her. Clearly, after this Twitter spat, netizens were left in a fix as to which side to hop on and this entire fiasco gave all single people another reason to rejoice. Now that you have read the whole conversation, which side would you pick? We leave you with that burning question.
  23. When you are 6 feet 9 inches tall, weigh over 110 kilos and down approximately 10,000 calories daily, picking and tossing heavy weights becomes a habit. Icelandic strongman Hafthor Bjornson, also widely known ‘The Mountain’, is a glaring example of what we are talking about. You have the power, Thor’s power. A post shared by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (@thorbjornsson) on Nov 16, 2016 at 5:59am PST If you have been living under a rock, The Mountain is one of the world’s leading strongman athletes and is very popular for his role as Ser Gregor in the cult HBO series 'Game Of Thrones'. Now getting down to business, Thor’s squat record is 250kg, bench press record is 230kg and deadlift record is 420kg. Though these numbers are pretty old, they surely stand as a true testament to the brute strength this man possesses. The lift was as smooth as a hot knife going through butter. Effortlessly and with perfect form, Thor murdered 330 kilos! Check out the video below. Being a savage all day everyday is hard. Sometimes I just go to the gym and do work in a calm and relaxing environment. 330kg 3 sets of 2 with Adele in the background. 24. When it comes to gifting, men are always supposed to be the ones who randomly surprise their partners with the perfect gifts that they would simply fall in love with. When the roles are reversed and the time comes for men to receive a gift, it seldom happens that they find something that they would really enjoy. While some of the gifts are simply amazing, some are just completely useless. If only women could figure out what to gift us for Valentine's Day. Wondering how to ask for a receipt to exchange those dull gifts? Don’t. While we were whiling our time away on the internet, we stumbled upon this website that is hosting a poll that may just solve all our problems! The poll called Gifts Men Love invited men all over to vote for the top 5 gifts that they would love to receive. The extensive list of gifts included in the poll comprises of watches, whisky, perfume, shirt, sunglasses, shoes, headphones, wallet, tie and a jacket. With men all over the country casting their vote for the perfect gift, the message will be quite clear. In an attempt to help decode what #GiftsMenLove, TVF has come up with the perfect video to help the confused ones out! Hilarious as the video may be, the results are surprising. Leaving whisky behind at no 2, men have voted for watches as the gift they would love to receive and we are baffled! As we were rooting for whisky all along, we were a tad disappointed but happy nonetheless to know that it holds a strong spot in the top 3 gifts loved by men. Cheers to that! The other gifts that make up the top 5 gifts are jackets, sunglasses, and headphones. Here is the complete list of the poll results. Gifts Men Love Before you are stuck with some boring gifts this Valentine's Day too, we suggest you share this list with your partners to make your choice quite clear!
