  1. The Indian Government has banned a flurry of Chinese applications that include some games as well, and many gamers were pointing out that PUBG Mobile was not targeted. Out of all the applications that were banned, the biggest hit came to social media application TikTok which had over 200 million users in India. Other popular apps like Cam Scanner, Mi Video Call, Likee, Mobile Legends and others were also banned citing national security reasons. For the people who donât know, PUBG Mobile is published, distributed, and developed by Chinese multinational company Tencent Holdings. While the PC version of the game was developed by Bluehole; the mobile version of the game has been licensed to Tencent for the mobile port of the game. Recently, Tencent also invested in âKrafton Game Unionâ the holding company that owns Bluehole. Having said that, many were questioning why PUBG Mobile was spared even while other games were banned by The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). MeitY banned 59 apps that were described by the Ministry to have "engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order." While the game did not get the axe from the government yet; fans of the popular battle-royale game tweeted their relief with memes: #tiktokbanindia Meanwhile #PUBG players to each other : pic.twitter.com/38ynXbJbJy â HARSH ð®ð³ (@Nationalist1110) June 29, 2020#PUBG players checking the list of banned Applications.#TikTok pic.twitter.com/mJRnJdykWE â RaHul SiNgh (@_gohan4) June 29, 2020"59 chinese apps including #TikTok gets banned by India Goverment ". * PUBG users rn : pic.twitter.com/8MITimtLFI â Faizan Ansari (@Faizzsome13) June 29, 2020Tiktok & all other Chinese apps are banned in India expect PUBG. 2. Indiaâs Vande Bharat Mission is being touted as one of the biggest rescue missions in the worldâs recent history. As problematic and unfortunate as the situation may be - remember that the pilots who are flying the stranded passengers home, have not been paid properly for months - it still is a moment that leaves Indians like us feeling proud. © PTI With that being said, the passenger themselves are certainly not having it easy. There is no doubt that the pandemic has wreaked havoc in the lives of billions of people. One would imagine that now that the stranded passengers are finally home, things would be a little easy for them. Well, that is not the case. © AFP In a video that was taken at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, an officer from the CISF was seen addressing the repatriated people and informing them of the rules and regulations that they had to abide by. The passengers being addressed were the 230 odd people who were brought home from Singapore. Have a look. This, for obvious reasons, is for passengers who are showing no symptoms of the virus at all. People with even a fraction of the symptoms for the novel coronavirus would be put straight into a quarantine centre. © AFP In the video, the CISF officer informs the passengers that they have to foot the bill for their stay at the hotel of their choice, which includes properties like Taj Palace Hotel, Shangri-Laâs Eros Hotel and Le Meridien, according to Economic Times. Apart from them, about 1,200 rooms are available in hotels across Karol Bagh. © Reuters They also reported that Le Meridien is charging Rs 4000 plus taxes on single occupancy rooms, and Rs 4800 plus taxes for double occupancy rooms. The charges include all meals. The main reason why this is being done is to keep a track fo the passengers and to keep a check on their health, as it would be nearly impossible for doctors to visit the repatriated passengers if they were allowed to leave for their homes. © Reuters As for the people from other states, they too will be put in a similar quarantine of sorts, once they are collected by the representatives of their state. © PTI As practical, and well-meaning as all this is, it is a scary situation for a lot of the people involved, be it the passengers themselves, the hotel staff, the pilots and the flight crew involved in these operations. No to mention the CISF personnel & healthcare professionals as well. Truly, this entire situation is becoming more like a scene straight out of World War Z with each passing day. 4. Owing to the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country, which has crossed the 9000 mark so far, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to make an official announcement on extension of the lockdown till April 30 tomorrow at 10 am. After requests from states to extend the current nationwide lock down, PM Modi is widely expected to announce about the lockdown extension in his address to the nation tomorrow, while also mentioning about the measures to restart the economy. 5. Basically, the entire world is under lockdown right now because of coronavirus and people are allowed to leave their homes for only essentials in most of the countries. While we all are probably risking our lives even when we go for a grocery run to our local store, a guy decided to actually go to a different country to buy his most essential supplies for the lockdown. Apparently a guy walked from France to Spain just to buy cigarettes, and I get it, a smoker would consider cigarettes an essential item, but going all the way to a different country for them? Now that seems excessive. © Pexels He not only risked coronavirus but also the safety regulations put in place due to the virus just to buy 'cheap cigarettes'. Too bad he had to be rescued from the Pyrenees and then got a fine of 135 euros, or about â¹11,000. I'm guessing that amount is much higher than whatever he was saving on Spanish cigarettes. Reportedly, he first set out on the journey in his car but since there was a checkpoint, he decided to continue on foot but he fell into a stream and brambles and got lost before contacting rescuers. We are fascinated by the mention of the presence of life on other planets on our solar system and cannot seem to get over the mysteries that surround our beloved natural satellite, Moon. © Facebook But while most of us interested in astronomy donât end up going beyond star-gazing or owning a professional telescope at home, others turn it into their vocation and continue to fuel their curiosity for years. 8. While POCO, as a brand, made a comeback with the POCO X2, it wasn't the flagship that we all had been waiting for. However, now it looks like the POCO F2 is happening after all. If the report by the folks at XDA Developers is something to go by, then Xiaomi's new Redmi K30 Pro may debut as the POCO F2 in India. Obviously, there's no official confirmation from POCO themselves, but XDA has uncovered some codes from the MIUI camera app which suggests that the Redmi K30 Pro may launch in India under the POCO brand. © Xiaomi One of the XDA members dug deep inside the camera code and found that Redmi K30 Pro also displays the watermark âSHOT ON POCO PHONEâ. Yes, it looks like the phones contain the string "SHOT ON POCO Phone". This makes us believe that the Redmi K30 Pro may have POCO branding in India. Honestly, this isn't all that surprising because the Redmi K30 4G was launched as the POCO X2 in India. And the fact that the Redmi K30 Pro has "Pro" flagship specs, it may land as the true successor to the legendary POCO F1. © Xiaomi In case you're wondering, the Redmi K30 Pro sports a Snapdragon 865 SoC and it's coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. In terms of the camera, it has a triple-camera setup which includes a 64MP primary sensor. In addition to all this, the Redmi K30 Pro has a lot going for it, so it'll be interesting to see if it makes its way to India as the POCO F2. Source: XDA Developers View the full article
  9. It's high time that everyone does their part to try and prevent the community spread of Coronavirus. It's a very scary time right now and if the virus spreads exceedingly in a heavily-populated country like India, the results would be devastating and could end with an alarming death toll. In the video, shared from Dhawan's Facebook page, the man says: “Hello everyone, today I came back to Delhi from Germany and approximately 70km far (from the airport), the government has quarantined all the passengers.” “The entire building is being sprayed with sanitizer, DM (District Magistrate), SDM (Sub District Magistrate), all the senior officials are present here. Mind-bending trailers of The Vanishing and Gone Girl had that effect on me. Just this morning, the steadily growing OTT platform MX Player dropped the trailer of Samantar, and boy was I shook! I mustâve watched it thrice on loop, primarily because of the mysterious plot. Take a look at the trailer: From what we see, Samantar isnât a traditional thriller. For starters, could the plot get any more baffling & gripping? The protagonist is on a relentless quest to track down Sudarshan Chakrapani â a man who has a similar destiny as his own. The life that the protagonist is living is one that Chakrapani has already lived. Freaky, right? MX Player It all starts when the protagonist of the show, Kumar Mahajan (played by Swwapnil Joshi) makes an unplanned visit to the astrologer as both his personal and professional life have hit rock bottom. However, this visit turns rather eerie when the astrologer says, âMaine yeh haath pehle bhi dekha haiâ. In an astonishing discovery, the protagonistâs future is another manâs past. Bringing this mind-boggling plot to life is the heartthrob of Marathi cinema â Swwapnil Joshi. In addition to working in popular Marathi films like Duniyadari and Mitwaa, the actor has also been a part of the Bollywood movie Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! MX Player Based on the famous book âSamantarâ by Suhas Shivralkar, this MX Original brings together astrology, mystery, and thrill â one that will keep you hooked from the word go. 15. Yes, that's true. You can search, "chat.whatsapp.com" on Google and you'll start seeing hundreds and thousands of links for WhatsApp group chats as results. This means, literally anybody can access those links and join those groups which are meant to be private. So exactly how did this happen? Well, Google indexes anything it can on the web. This means Google has probably indexed the WhatsApp group links if you've ever shared them online i.e., in the open web. Your private groups aren't that private after all, yeah? Your WhatsApp groups may not be as secure as you think they are. The "Invite to Group via Link" feature allows groups to be indexed by Google and they are generally available across the internet. With some wildcard search terms you can easily find some⦠interesting⦠groups. pic.twitter.com/hbDlyN6g3q â Jordan Wildon (@JordanWildon) February 21, 2020 This problem was brought to light by a journalist in Germany named Jordan Wildon who tweeted about it on Friday. His tweet said, "Your WhatsApp groups may not be as secure as you think they are.â He found out that any group link that is shared outside of secure, private messaging can relatively easily be found and joined. The worst part about this problem is that Facebook knew about this issue beforehand. They were notified about the problem last year in November. But they said it's not Facebook's problem because they're not responsible for what the search engine crawls. View the full article

  20. What's the cutest thing you've seen the internet go all gaga over? Baby Yoda of course. What's cuter than baby Yoda? A little puppy who looks like baby Yoda! Yes, there's one out there in the world and we can't stop gushing over it. Mork, a young pup who was rescued recently from going to China for meat trade, is the internet's favourite dog currently and we can't get over this very lucky puppy. The Yoda look-alike with big expressive eyes and pointy, floppy ears, weighed only five kgs when he was first rescued. He was hospitalised for intestinal problems and made it through his severe sickness, to begin his new life in Los Angeles. © Instagram Mork was rescued by an organisation called HarbinSHS, who intercept dogs bound to China for meat trade, where dogmeat is still very much legal. A lot of dogs are illegally sent from the USA and many other countries and HarbinSHS do their best to prevent that from happening. A woman named Nikki Carvey, the founder of non-profit rescue shelter Roadogs, was sent Mork's details after the rescue mission and she immediately fell in love with him. âThey sent me a photo of Mork, and I said, âI love that dog. I will take himâ,âshe said in an interview with a popular publication. He has a special diet of lentils and various supplements. Heâs an expensive little guy to feed. He probably eats better than I do. Heâs still extremely underweight, and he gets fed four small meals a day,â Nikki told a popular publication in an interview.
