  1. Some PC gamers are legit creative and you can easily find some drool-worthy PC builds if you scour the internet. But we bet you'll never come across a PC that's made out of pasta. Yes, the good ol' pasta that comes in lots of cute shapes. We've truly seen it all now. This obnoxious PC was built by a YouTube creator who goes by the name 'Laplanet Arts'. He says he started working on this project after his wife joked about making a PC of pasta. Well, this is what he made - © YouTube So, the machine which he built is based on the hardware from an old ASUS Transformer convertible tablet. He stripped out his convertible and built it into a new case made entirely out of lasagna and rigatoni. Also, you see the tomato sauce and melted cheese there on the build? Ya, that's not really tomato sauce or melted cheese. It actually hot glue that's painted red, because using tomato sauce and melted cheese would be ridiculous. Even the PC that he made isn't overly powerful either. It's got aged specs. You can watch the video to find out more.
  2. The Time's list of Most Influential People)is out and obviously, there are a few Indians who're making the country proud by being among so many incredible people from all over the world. Last year, Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli, Ola co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal, and Microsoft's Indian-born CEO Satya Nadella were named in the list and it was great to see so. This year, Mukesh Ambani and lawyers Arundhati Katju and Menaka Guruswamy, who quashed Section 377, have made it to the list. Along with them, Indian-American comedian and TV host Hasan Minhaj is also part of the 100 Most Influential People. Anand Mahindra took charge of writing about Mukesh Ambani) and had nothing but praises for the business tycoon. He talked about Dhirubhai Ambani, Jio, and how Mukesh Ambani did keep all the promises he made. He said, “Mukesh Ambani's father Dhirubhai was a visionary in Indian business, whose Reliance Industries conglomerate pioneered ways of targeting global scale. But Ambani's vision is now even more ambitious than that of the father whose blessings he unfailingly invokes at the launch of each initiative. The scale of his Reliance Jio mobile-data network, which has already connected over 280 million people in India with low-cost 4G, is impressive by any standard. But what is truly jaw-dropping is the way it will allow Reliance to potentially dominate a staggering array of new businesses. When its enormous retail division is married to the Jio network for e-commerce, it will give Amazon a run for its money. When the media entities Ambani owns begin leveraging Jio, he could create India's default entertainment destination. The mind boggles at the possibilities.” Lastly, he said, “Back in 2003, Ambani promised Indians in a well-known advertising tagline that his company would “put the world in the palm of your hand.” It won't be long before he delivers on that promise.” Coming to Arundhati Katju and Menaka Guruswamy, the badass lawyers responsible for the decriminalisation of homosexuality and quashing 157-year-old Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. Writing about them and praising them was none other than Priyanka Chopra. She said, “'I am what I am so take me as I am,' said the Chief Justice of India as the Supreme Court struck down Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code in a unanimous vote. An outdated legacy of the British colonization of India, Section 377 rendered all sexual activities “against the order of nature” punishable by law. This landmark judgment, overturning a 157-year-old law, was the outcome of a long-term campaign orchestrated by two amazing public-interest litigators, Arundhati Katju and Menaka Guruswamy. The fight has been hard. The LGBTQ+ community has battled on both legal and social fronts for decades-—for their fundamental rights, for privacy, for dignity, for safety and for love.” She went on, “Armed with a well-planned strategy that went beyond their well-researched legal arguments, Arundhati and Menaka became beacons of hope for the Indian LGBTQ+ community. Their perseverance and commitment led an entire community to a historic win by humanizing their struggles and giving them the freedom to love. As the Chief Justice said, “Constitutional morality cannot be martyred at the altar of social morality.” Arundhati and Menaka have helped take a giant step for LGBTQ rights in the world's largest democracy. In their committed fight for justice, they have shown us that we as a society must continue to make progress, even after laws are changed, and that we must make an effort to understand, accept and love. It is who we are as people.
  3. In 2018, a depleted Indian cricket team snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the Nidahas Trophy final in Sri Lanka. The thrilling victory against Bangladesh will be remembered for two things: Dinesh Karthik's match-winning knock and Vijay Shankar's struggles. While the former turned the tide in India's favour with a stunning batting display, the latter's sluggish innings almost cost his side the game and trophy. Following India's emphatic triumph, while Karthik was being hailed for his batting prowess, Shankar became the subject of immense criticism on the social media. Since that match, a lot has changed. © Twitter The 28-year-old might have not have had very good memories from that final, but he hasn't allowed his forgettable international debut to affect his performances on the field. Making most of the limited opportunities he has got so far, Shankar has, time and again, proved his worth with both bat and ball. And, that's exactly why he has been included in Team India's 15-man squad for the all-important ICC World Cup 2019. A versatile batsman who is more than capable of batting at any position in the middle-order, Shankar's ability to mould his innings according to the situation is what makes him a valuable addition to the Indian line-up. In case of a collapse, the Tamil Nadu cricketer can hold the fort at one end in pressure situations, and, if need be, he can accelerate the innings in the later stages of the game with plenty of big strokes in his armoury. © Twitter If his artistry with the willow adds value to the Indian middle-order, Shankar's medium-paced deliveries further bolster his side with an extra bowling option. Though he might still be fairly inexperienced and doesn't have much runs or wickets under his belly, Shankar is still a vital cog that provides the much-needed balance to the Indian team as they chase glory in England & Wales. Many did argue his selection ahead of Ambati Rayudu, who has performed more often than not, but it is Shankar's ability to contribute in all the three facets of the game that makes him a safer and a better bet than the specialist batsman. While we can't really predict if Shankar would occupy the hotly-debated No. 4 slot or not, his addition to the Indian squad by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) surely got the cricket fans excited on social media. This means the #No4 debate is still open. Options now are Vijay Shankar or Virat Kohli with Rahul at no. 3. People who watch a lot of domestic cricket really rate Vijay Shankar. Happy for him but his temperament will be tested. — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) April 15, 2019 Jadeja and Vijay Shankar both make the cut as I thought. Overall, very balanced side. Must feel for Pant though. Lost out marginally. But also lesson for him to improve his wk skills https://t.co/7Hqz0XSMLe — Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) April 15, 2019 What vijay shankar offers is 3 dimensional...batting, bowling and can field. Rahul can open if Rohit/Dhawan have a lean patch or injury. Vijay Shankar's bowling isn't threatening but he offers a seam bowling all rounder option if Pandya isn't playing. Jadeja is the joker in the pack to perform the team balancing act. — cricBC (@cricBC) April 15, 2019 Congratulations to Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik who have been named in #TeamIndia's ICC #CWC19 squad. Send in your wishes for the duo! ð¸-BCCI pic.twitter.com/Iolf7Pc4gm — TNCA (@TNCACricket) April 15, 2019 Vijay Shankar batted beautifully in whatever chances he got. I believe Virat Kohli at 4 is the most viable option we have. Team should be in a position to not get shattered by the loss of early wickets. CT 2017 Final should be the first and only mistake — Ravi Maestri (@ravimaestri) April 15, 2019 Rishabh Pant could have replaced DK not Vijay Shankar. Vijay Shankar is better than Pant in rotating the strike — DS Raajjð®ð³ (@draju_tarun) April 15, 2019
  4. On Thursday, when Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings came to play at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium, it wasn't just another match of IPL 2019. It was a match that saw a fan-idol duo turn into rivals, in order to inch closer to winning the IPL trophy. We're talking about Riyan Parag, who made a promising debut with Rajasthan Royals; and MS Dhoni, who is leading CSK from the forefront. Twitter This 17-year-old cricketer hails from Assam and was all of six, when he first met and clicked a picture with his idol MS Dhoni. In fact, when MS Dhoni made his international debut in 2004, Riyan was 3. Fast forward to the present and Riyan not only made his IPL debut but also played against MS Dhoni. Cute!#RRvCSK ##IPL2019 pic.twitter.com/IrXAtEZsrs — Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) April 13, 2019 In fact, on Thursday Riyan got out scoring 16 runs after he was caught behind by Dhoni. Ever since the two met, this picture of their 'then and now' started circulating on social media and is now making people go crazy. Twitter Riyan is a right-handed batsman and leg spinner, who was also a part of the Indian team that won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2018. He also featured in two tests for the Indian U-19 team in England and holds the record of the second fastest 50 in U-19 after Virat Kohli. Twitter Riyan's father is Parag Das, a former cricketer and mother is Mithu Baruah, a national level swimmer.
  5. The trailer of this year's much-awaited film, 'Student Of The year 2', just dropped and is making everyone jealous with their exaggerated fanciful Saint Teresa college which looks bigger than London's Buckingham Palace. via GIPHY The first one marked the debut of three promising actors - Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra - who have come a long way. Varun and Alia are currently busy promoting their film 'Kalank'. This time around, the expectations are extremely high from the film and the 'Batch of 2019'. via GIPHY Well, at least they have successfully managed to retain one thing from the first movie - 'SOTY 2' is as exaggerated and larger than life as the first one. Seriously, who organises such extreme sports events? And which sporting event has a dance competition as one of the winning criteria? Dharma Productions Most parts of the trailer were owned by Tiger Shroff and his abs and his veins popping out of his arms. Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday too were a part of the trailer in their own 'blink and miss' ways. Dharma Productions Talking about the storyline, Tiger Shroff plays Rohan who has his heart set on the 'Dignity Cup', an inter-college sports championship. He is however expelled, so he joins another college to participate in the same competition to beat his rivals (Also, this is not a spoiler, it's there in the trailer). Amidst all of this, Tiger has to also deal with a complicated love triangle going on between him, Tara and Ananya. Tough life, I must say! Directed by Punit Malhotra, 'Student Of The Year 2' is releasing on May 10.
  6. When you think of an 'Alienware' gaming laptop, your brain starts showing you pictures of thick, beefy, loud and colourful machines with sharp corners and glowing alien cranium. Oh god, the mere thought of lugging that thing around makes your back hurt, doesn't it? Well, what if I told you that the company tried making an entirely new breed of gaming laptop, and the m15 is what they came up with. The m15 is Alienware's thinnest and lightest gaming laptop ever, and as someone who has used their laptops in the past, I can confirm that it stands out from the rest of their chunkier machines. It's also the cheapest Alienware gaming laptop on sale on Dell's website in India starting at Rs 1,51,190. But is it just as good as the other Alienware machines or did joining the thin-and-light league come with lots of compromises? Well, I've been using the Alienware m15's top of the line variant for the past few weeks now, and I think Alienware has successfully managed to cram a beast into a svelte body. Anyway, here's my full review of the Alienware m15 RTX gaming laptop. Design & Build Quality An extraterrestrial chic! Yes, as cliché as it sounds, those are the words that come to my mind when I look at this laptop. Yes, technically it's still too big to qualify as a true 'thin-and-light' gaming laptop, but I must say that it's surprisingly portable. It's just 0.83-inch thick and weighs just 2.16 kgs, so I can safely say that it's the thinnest and the lightest Alienware laptop. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla That being said, the m15 will still look familiar to anyone who has seen an Alienware machine before, especially this 'Nebula Red' variant which we have for review. It's just that Alienware got rid of all the extra chunk and retained just enough to house the cooling elements to keep the guts from overheating. BTW, it's still built like a tank. The lid is made from anodized aluminum, and our red variant here has soft-touch paint, which feels incredibly soft to touch. The lid can be opened with one hand and opening it will reveal a keyboard deck that's coated with a lush, black soft-touch finish. The top of the deck, however, is made up glossy plastic with an alien head right in the middle. You can also see some vents directly below the power button, and it has this funky honeycomb pattern. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla Honestly, the Alienware m15's design has grown on me during the course of my testing. Of course, it's still very much an 'Alienware' design, but I am glad that the m15 doesn't belong to that obnoxious-looking pack with flashy RGB lighting all over it's body. The m15 is still something that I'd be very confident walking into a corporate meeting room with. Display It's not 4k, but boy is the Alienware m15's 15.6-inch 144-Hz display good! It's an awesome display for content consumption, be it watching movies, TV Shows or playing video games, which I happen to play a lot. While watching videos, the colours just seem to pop with excellent viewing angles, and the 144-Hz refresh rate kept the gaming action particularly smooth. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla One of the games which I really enjoyed playing on this laptop is 'Far Cry: New Dawn'. Seriously, that game has a lot of colourful and vivid visuals, and it was such an awesome experience. In fact, the game looked so good on this display, that I kept exploring different parts of the map instead of playing through the main missions. Look, the point that I am trying to make here is that Alienware has some of the best displays in the business, and the m15 is no exception. From brightness to smooth frame rates, everything was on point. Yes the laptop has huge bezels, which I found annoying at first, but it didn't really bother me that much mainly due to the fact that the display itself is enjoyable. Keyboard & Touchpad I really enjoyed the Alienware m15's keyboard and trackpad. Typing on this keyboard felt absolutely great, thanks to a solid amount of key travel and good response from the keys. I effortlessly hit my 70 words-per-minute average on the 10fastfingers typing test, so it's all good. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla As you can see, it's a full size keyboard with numpad and 4 macro keys at the top. The keyboard, of course, lights up in pretty colors, and the backlighting is nice and bright. Also, the backlight is powered by AlienFX, which means you can play around with four different zones of lighting and sync with other Alienware peripherals or even games. It's a lot of fun tinkering with these lights. As for the trackpad, I was kinda surprised to see that Alienware had ditched the discrete buttons in favor of a unified pad. Not a deal beaker at all, but still something to point out. The trackpad is excellent. The Windows 10 gestures were fast and accurate, and even the buttons are nice and clicky. Ports Though the m15 has a slimmer profile, Alienware hasn't made any compromises when it comes to ports. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla The laptop has a pair of USB 3.0 ports on the right with another pair on the left, which is accompanied by a Gigabyte Ethernet jack, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a noble lock slot. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla But that's not all. There are more ports at the back side. There's an HDMI port, a mini Display port, a Thunderbolt 3, a power jack and a proprietary port if you happen to have deep pockets to afford an Alienware Graphics Amplifier. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla Audio Before I discuss the performance, let me talk about something which I feel took a hit in this laptop: The speakers. Like I said, I've used quite a few Alienware laptops in the past, but I was a little surprised by how low the speakers on this laptop sound. Don't get me wrong; it's not a bad speaker by any means. In fact, whatever I am able to hear is very crisp and clear. It's just that it's not the kind of Alienware speakers that I am used to. I also hate the fact that the speakers are bottom firing, which means they're not going to sound exceptional even if they did their best. From listening to music to watching movies, I'd say everything was a little underwhelming. Again, the speakers aren't bad, but they're just a little too small for my liking. I like laptop speakers that can fill my entire room at least at max volume, and the m15 speakers are clearly not the kind that I like. I did try playing some games with just the laptop's speakers as my audio output, and it was fine. I mean, I could hear the noise of crumbling leaves and whipping winds, but I still recommend you put on your headphones while playing games because there are lot of other things like fan noise, etc. Performance The Alienware m15 is available in several configurations in India. Every single one of them, however, have the same Intel Core i7-8750H processor with speeds up to 4.1GHz w/ Turbo Boost. The amount of RAM and storage between models. The variant which I tested had 16GB RAM and 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD, which is just absolutely insane. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla As for the GPU, I had the privilege of testing the m15's top-of-the-line variant with RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6 GPU with Max-Q Design. If you are tight on budget, then you can also choose to go for the base variant that offers RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 GPU. The base variant of the laptop starts at Rs. 1,51,190. Now let's talk performance. As soon as I got my hands on the laptop, I started installing all the games that I had in my library. From popular online multiplayer titles like Apex Legends to some of the most demanding titles like Metro: Exodus, I gave the m15 a tough time. But I must say that I was very impressed by the performance. With an 8th-gen Intel Core processor and 16GB RAM, I already knew what to expect from this laptop when it comes to benchmarks. In m15 recorded a single-core score of 4,851 on Geekbench 4, whereas the multi-core score came in at a huge 19,713. It's among the highest that I've seen for a gaming laptop. While playing some CPU-intensive titles like Monster Hunter: World, I got frame rates over 80 FPS with significantly slashed loading times. Just like CPU, the GPU benchmark results were impressive, too. The 3DMark: Time Spy benchmark test gave out a result of 6,171. You can check out the benchmark results below for more info. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Moving on to gaming, the Alienware achieved an average frame rate of over 55FPS when playing Metro: Exodus in Full HD at its highest graphics setting including Ray tracing. I also tried using custom graphics settings just to see how smooth the game can run Not just Metro, I pushed this machine to play other ray-tracing enabled games like Far Cry New Dawn at highest settings, and got some impressive results. Check out the benchmark scores below to get a better understanding. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Thermals The Alienware m15 has a bunch of fans that kick in quite often if used in “balanced” mode. You can change the fan speed, etc. from the Alienware Command Center, and I always found myself sticking to the balanced mode, as it does a great job of keeping things cool for me whenever it's needed. Do make a note that the fans are noisy. Like, seriously. That's part of the reason why I said you should be using headphones while playing games. As for the thermal performance, I'd say the Alienware m15 does a decent job of keeping things cool even when it faces a lot of load. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla Not going to lie, the laptop gets a little toasty at times, but that's given considering the fact that the processors and the RTX GPU runs hot inside the small chassis. That being said, at no point did I face thermal throttling. I even tried playing Metro: Exodus for over 5 hours straight with graphics settings set to extreme, and the m15 managed to maintain stable frames throughout the gameplay, which is very commendable. Worst comes to worst, you can always get yourself a cooling pad and rest the laptop on it while gaming. Battery Life The Alienware m15 comes with 60WHr battery, which is just so-so when it comes to performance. With moderate usage like web browsing, drafting a couple of articles, etc. I was able to push the m15 for about 4-4.5 hours on a single charge, before reaching out for my charger. That's not really a surprise since this is a gaming laptop, and there's a lot going on both, inside as well as the outside. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla The laptop has to push powerful internals, and then there's fancy keyboard lighting with rainbow effects and what not. Don't worry though, you won't find yourself hugging a socket all the time, but you'll really be away from it only for a few hours, sadly. The Final Say Alienware took its time to come up with a 'thin and light' gaming laptop, but I'd say that it has hit the sweet spot. The m15 is equal parts flashy and powerful. Despite being different from the other Alienware laptops, the m15 has managed to retain it's attention-grabbing factor that makes it so desirable. It's also the first Alienware laptop which I could realistically use as a work laptop and then turn to it for some intense gaming session when I am back home. Seriously, that's what most laptops with a Max-Q design are supposed to do, and the m15 takes good care of that. The only downsides, in my opinion, are the battery life and the somewhat limiting thermals. But if you don't mind spending some time near a socket and use it on a desk with, say, a cooling pad while gaming, then the m15 is a supremely powerful and a surprisingly portable gaming laptop. The Alienware m15 starts at Rs. 1,51,190, and at that price, I think it's a great choice.
  7. Apple has now started to manufacture the iPhone 7 in India which makes it the third device by the company that is being assembled locally. Previously, the company was assembling the iPhone SE and iPhone 6s in India as a part of the company's 'Made in India' initiative. © MensXP Apple said in an email to our sister website ET “We are proud to be producing iPhone 7 in Bengaluru for our local customers, furthering our long-term commitment in India,” According to Apple, two variants of the iPhone 7 i.e. 32GB and 128GB models will be manufactured in India and will sell for Rs 39,990 and Rs 49,990 respectively. The smartphone is being manufactured by Wistron, a Taiwanese contract manufacturer that will be assembling the iPhone 7 models. While making the iPhone 7 in India reduces the cost of manufacturing considerably, the Cupertino giant is not looking to slash the prices and instead use the extra funds for an aggressive marketing strategy in India. Previously, Tim Cook has admitted that the company has faced a decline in iPhone sales in emerging markets like India. The CEO attributed the struggle to issues like foreign exchange and “weak macro-transactions” which contributed towards slow iPhone sales in countries like India, Brazil and Russia. © MensXP iPhone 7 was launched by Apple in 2016 and features a 4.6-inch Retina HD Display. The smartphone is water and dust resistant and has a rating of IP67. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner called “Touch ID” at the front and is powered by Apple's A10 Fusion chip. 8. The crackling chemistry between Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in 'Gully Boy' sent the audience in a frenzy, and fans couldn't wait to see these two fiery artists light up the screen again. Well, much to everyone's delight, this cute video by MakeMyTrip just got released, and it seems to have become the talk of the town! In the first commercial, Ranveer Singh introduces us to hotels best suited for business trips, with early morning check-ins, hot breakfast and of course a zero cancellation policy. While he plays the perfect loving and considerate husband, Alia is tongue-in-cheek with her comebacks. The romantic chemistry between the two is definitely something to watch out for! The second commercial focussing on family travel is no less adorable. 9. A couple of days ago, we decided to ask you to choose from a set of 22 cricketers who essentially belonged to different eras of the Indian cricket team. These name ranged from the timeless leg-spinner Anil Kumble to the fearless bowling all rounder Hardik Pandya with the obvious legends of the game like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli being in the mix as well. We gave two options for every spot in the squad and here are the results: Opener #1: Virender Sehwag vs Rohit Sharma In the 251 ODIs played by Viru, he has batted with an average of 35.06 with a fairly decent strike rate of 104.34 while scoring a total of 8273 runs. When compared to Sehwag, the current opener for the Men in Blue has played in 206 ODIs with an average a lot higher that Sehwag (47.4) but a relatively low strike rate of just 87.95 and 8010 runs till now. © MensXP 65% chose Virender Sehwag over Rohit Sharma Opener #2: Sourav Ganguly vs Gautam Gambhir The decision to choose between Sourav Ganguly and Gautam Gambhir was a lot more difficult than that between Sehwag and Sharma. Albeit, Gambhir played in less than half the ODI games played by Dada, but his ability to stick to the crease and score big runs at the time of the need made him an appropriate alternative option to Ganguly. © MensXP 53% chose Gautam Gambhir over Sourav Ganguly God of Cricket (One Down): Sachin Tendulkar vs Virat Kohli The contest for the position of the third batsman in the lineup had to be an obvious one. Probably the most talented players to choose from, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli were made to up against each other with an additional honour of being called the 'God of Cricket'. 65% chose Sachin Tendulkar over Virat Kohli © MensXP All Rounder #1: Yuvraj Singh vs Yusuf Pathan Two huge hitters with enough skills as bowlers to fool their opponents to give up their wickets, Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan were booked for the fourth place on the dream team. © MensXP 89% chose Yuvraj Singh over Yusuf Pathan All Rounder #2: Hardik Pandya vs Irfan Pathan While the spot for the all rounder position between Yuvi and Yusuf were decided keeping in mind their abilities as spinners, this spot would have gone to the pacer from either Hardik Pandya or Irfan Pathan, both of whom were instant run-machines and could have easily hit the deliveries out of the park. © MensXP 55% chose Hardik Pandya over Irfan Pathan Wicket-Keeper: MS Dhoni vs Rahul Dravid If the selection between MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid had to be done solely on the basis of their batting skills, it would have been a tough one. However, as a wicket-keeper, Ranchi-born MS Dhoni has been on another level throughout his international career and easily took the spot in the dream team. © MensXP 91% chose MS Dhoni over Rahul Dravid Off Spinner: R. Ashwin vs Harbhajan Singh Two of the greatest off spinners of different times, it was only fitting for one to choose between R. Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh for this category. In fact, it has widely been accepted as a fact that Ashwin was the one to take Bhajji's spot in Team India. © MensXP 58% chose R. Ashwin over Harbhajan Singh Leg Spinner: Yuzvendra Chahal vs Anil Kumble Chahal has proven his worth as a leggie in the recent games against Australia and New Zealand but needs to cover a lot of distance in order to take over the man who took all ten wickets in a single innings. © MensXP 69% chose Anil Kumble over Yuzvendra Chahal Fast Bowler #1: Jasprit Bumrah vs Zaheer Khan The choice between Jasprit Bumrah and Zaheer Khan was the most difficult to make according to the stats. While the former is the best bowler in the world in ODI rankings, the latter was known to have got Team India out of trouble on a number of occasions, the 2011 ICC World Cup being one of them. © MensXP 52% chose Jasprit Bumrah over Zaheer Khan Fast Bowler #2: Ashish Nehra vs Mohammed Shami The similarities between Nehra and Shami are uncanny. Both struggled to make big careers in the first stint with the Indian cricket team, suffered horrible form and made a comeback to international cricket after a year to take the entire world by storm. © MensXP 57% chose Ashish Nehra over Mohammed Shami Fast Bowler #3: Ishant Sharma vs Javagal Shrinath While it is a fact that Ishant Sharma is considered to be a 'rhythm' bowler, he is still one of the scariest bowlers to have participated in international cricket from the Indian side. Srinath, on the other hand, has been considered to be one of India's finest fast bowlers who also holds the record of being the first Indian bowler to have bagged 300+ wickets. © MensXP 65% chose Ishant Sharma over Javagal Shrinath Coach: Ravi Shastri vs Gary Kirsten At the end, we also provided you with the option of choosing the ideal coach for your dream team and you could have chosen between the all-time great Gary Kristen and the current coach of the Men in Blue, Ravi Shastri because, why the hell not? © MensXP 61% chose Gary Kirsten over Ravi Shastri Final Dream Team squad: Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni, R. 10. Alright, I know the Galaxy Note 7 jokes are a thing of past now, but I couldn't help it. Samsung's subsidiary brand has made a flower vase that also doubles up as a fire extinguisher? Seriously, how can this not remind you about the Note 7 debacle? Called 'Firevase', the vase essentially works as a fire extinguisher when you throw it at a fire. The outer chamber is filled with potassium carbonate that quickly cools and suppresses oxygen when the vase is thrown at the fire like, well, a grenade. Don't worry, it also has an inner chamber to hold water for your flowers, so it works fine both ways. According to architecture and design magazine Dezeen, only 100,000 firevases were originally produced to promote the use of home fire extinguishers in South Korea, where having at least one home fire extinguisher per home is mandatory since 2017. © firevase - YouTube But since the promotional campaign was a success and it helped increase the number of homes with an extinguisher by 8 per cent, the company decided to produce more.
  11. Apple's 'Show Time' event last night was packed with a lot of surprises. The company launched a Netflix-killer, Oprah Winfrey was there, and Tim Cook burst into tears. But you know what else was exciting? Apple has now become a bank, and it has launched its own credit card too. That's right. Apple has introduced a new service called 'Apple Card', which is essentially a credit card that will live both virtually in Apple's Wallet app and in the physical world as this slick-looking card made out of titanium. Here, check it out - © Apple Apple says it wanted to eliminate the things that people don't like about credit cards. So with Apple Card, there's no late fees, no annual fees and no international fees. It's like the perfect credit card that's made to kill the actual credit cards. Additionally, Apple says it will also offer cashback rewards on a daily basis to Apple Card users. I mean, who would have thought that Apple, out of all the companies, will offer cashback rewards? Like, seriously. The customers using the Apple Card will be able to get 3-per cent cashback for purchases made directly with Apple. You'll also get 2-per cent via the virtual card and 1-per cent when usingthe physical card. The transactions are also a lot safer as it uses Apple's FaceID or TouchID for authorizing the payments. The laser-etched titanium credit has no credit card number, CVV, expiration date or signature. All the information is stored directly in the Apple Wallet app. The company is partnering with Goldman Sachs for the card, and Mastercard will handle the payment processing. Apple's credit card will only be available if you're an iPhone owner. iPhone users can sign up for a card in the Wallet app, and the qualified users will be approved for an Apple Card. Sadly, the Apple Card is currently limited to the US, but the company is expected to bring it to other countries where Apple Pay is available. Sadly, India isn't a part of those countries right now, but let's hope that changes soon.
  12. Apple's 'Show Time' event was surprisingly packed with some great announcements. The highlight of the show, however, was the emotional moment towards the end when Tim Cook hugged Oprah Winfrey with tears in his eyes. via GIPHY Yes, Apple's star-studded show ended with Apple's signature “One last thing..” surprise, which was Oprah Winfrey. The megacelebrity took the stage at the end to announce two of her new documentaries including one called 'Toxic Labor', which deals with sexual harassment in the workplace. Her second documentary hasn't been named yet, but it looks like it will explore topics like mental health, addiction and more. The event brought together a rare collection of Hollywood stars like directors Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams, actress Jenifer Aniston, singer Sara Bareilles, and more. However, Oprah entered the stage in the end and literally stole the show. An unforgettable day. pic.twitter.com/7p3WXjwpgg — Tim Cook (@tim_cook) March 26, 2019 “There has never been a moment quite like this one,” she said. “We have this unique opportunity to rise to our best selves in how we use and choose to use both our technology and our humanity. That's why I have joined forces with Apple.” Once she was done addressing everyone, Tim Cook, who was visibly emotional, entered the stage and hugged Oprah. “Thank you, I will never forget this”, he said. In addition to the shows, Winfrey also noted that she'll be bringing her book club to Apple's streaming service. The new Apple TV Plus service will be home to Apple's original shows and is all set to take on the likes of Netflix, Prime Video, etc. starting this fall.
  13. At a time when kids around us are losing their touch with innocence and almost constantly fighting a losing battle to seize the good ol' times of undiluted childishness that we attached to young kids, all thanks to the skewed influences brought in by the idiot box and social media, there has emerged a “woke” and “humane” young mind which has sent netizens into a frenzy. A Twitter user recently shared a photo of a math answer sheet that belongs to a class 7 student, and the student and his answer have since gone viral on social media for the “humane” and hatke approach to the math problem. It is a Maths question. But look at the last line. This student is thinking beyond arithmetic. Teacher who shared this with me; her joy is unbound ð#education #criticalthinking #reasoning pic.twitter.com/q1kUAUK4Xr — Rajagopal (@rajagopalcv) March 12, 2019 Though the student's identity and school are not known, the student's awareness and empathy are being lauded by one and all on social media. As can be seen in the shared picture of the answer sheet, the question gives the amount a woman earns over a span of 15 months, which comes to Rs. 18,000. On further inspection, it can be seen that the student has also calculated the woman's earnings in a month, seven months, as well as the amount of time it would take her to earn Rs. 30,000. © Thinkstock/Getty Images We presume that the calculations and the conclusive answer were correct, but that isn't what has won a million hearts online. The student's end remark is what that did it! The kid has concluded his answer with a remark that reads “This woman worker is underpaid”, and it is this awareness, empathy and sensitivity of the class 7 student that the netizens are lauding, and rightly so. © Thinkstock/Getty Images It is good to see that young minds are still thinking loud and clear, despite all the external noise that is constantly trying to distract them. The student has not only made his/her teacher and parents proud but has also given us a sense of hope for our future as an empathetic and caring society. 14. Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan happen to be one of the biggest names in the Bollywood industry and theirs is the kind of bromance that most of us grew up watching. While today the world mostly talks about on-screen chemistry in relation to the lead male and female actors in a film, Akshay and Saif's chemistry, back in the day, evoked similar sizzle on-screen, with its ability to strike a chord with the flamboyant, young male audience. © BCCL From amongst the handful of movies that Akshay and Saif did together, from 'Yeh Dillagi', 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi', to 'Keemat', 'Aarzoo' and even 'Tashan', 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' remains their greatest entertainer. So. when Akshay recently shared a hilarious anecdote related to the film, during a chat with film critic and entertainment reporter Rajeev Masand, fans couldn't hold back their guffaws. Recalling their chemistry and friendship from the days gone by, Akshay told Rajeev that during the premiere of 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' in Delhi, he made a funny mess on-stage and that left Saif in splits. © United Seven Creations Talking about the incident, Akshay said, “I also have a very good memory about when we had gone for the premiere... it is very funny what happened that day. Rageshwari, Shilpa, me, Saif... We had gone to Delhi. Now suddenly on stage, this guy comes and says: 'Ab Akshayji, aap ko AIDS ke baare mein kuch kehna hai'. I didn't know the whole premiere was for charity for AIDS. Mr Ratan Jain (the producer of the film) didn't tell us; he forgot. Because I am the senior, they have called me first. Saif is looking at me and he's laughing, he knows I am nervous, he knows I don't know what to say suddenly. And guess what I must have said; I can never forget what I said.” © Yash Raj Films Yes, trust Akshay when he says that what he said that evening is unforgettable, but kudos to his presence of mind which may have ultimately saved the day, because he came up with the most hilarious thing to say. “I had no idea what to say and I just went and I said: 'Doston, anari mat bano, condom istemal karo aur khiladi bano.” Can you beat that? He was unprepared and came up with this, imagine what a more prepared Akshay would have come up with? We bet it couldn't beat this on any given day, because it is so on point.
  15. From the looks of it, 'Made In Heaven' is about two wedding planners, Tara Khanna (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur) and the shenanigans that come with planning a big fat Indian wedding. But that's just the surface of it all. MIH is just as much about everything else Bollywood has been brushing under the carpet all these years. The choice between aspiration and self respect, the price you pay for freedom and what it really takes to stand up for yourself – MIH is basically Bollywood growing up. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Alankrita Shrivastava, and Prashant Nair, the show is spread across 9 riveting episodes, each following the protagonists as they sign up for a new wedding, each pulling you deeper and deeper into their personal lives, making you feel their darkest truths so convincingly, you're reminded of your own. © Amazon Prime This isn't your typical 'rich people dealing with rich people problems' narrative. The characters are polished (well, most of them) but the storytelling is as raw and unadulterated as it gets – to the point that it makes you uncomfortable with its unabashed reality. Even though there are a myriad of new characters introduced in every episode, the prolific writing makes them all stand out well. They're not just distinct from each other, they're too damn real, be it the starry-eyed Jazz who fancies everything rich or the already rich Adil who's unapologetic about having an extra marital affair. These are people we know, the people we see, the people we are - in all their glory and all their flaws. © Amazon Prime SPOILERS AHEAD: At one of the weddings, the father of the bride is caught molesting a 'mehendiwali'. The bride offers her Rs 2 lakh as a compensation. Just when you think the show would make a strong point against it, “5 lakh” the mehendiwali blurts out nervously. And that's the kind of bold this show is. Bold not visually, but because they raise uncomfortable conversations that happen around us all the time but are never acknowledged. Can money really buy everything? How far would you go to live a life you've always aspired for? How sacred are marriages really anyway? © Amazon Prime The show not just normalizes relevant subjects like mental health, sexual assault and homosexuality but goes one step ahead in their representation. For once, a gay character isn't reduced to an effeminate caricature used as a device to evoke humour. The gay community is represented as is. Even when the show raises an important point about the criminalization of homosexuality, it does so without seeking sympathy or preaching. There's no deliberate attempt to make Karan's homosexuality a plot twist or use it to titillate the audiences. Gay people are treated just like their straight folks on the show – as people. Karan, one of the two protagonists, is a man who's sure of his sexuality and very much in touch with his sexual desires. Karan's sexuality isn't what the show is about, it's just one of the many parts that make him who he is – and that's normalization in its truest sense. It's not that Bollywood hasn't seen films on this subject before. But MIH gets spot on in the nuanced depiction of how homophobia goes deeper than shame – it sometimes makes you do things that you regret for the rest of your life. © Amazon Prime What the show also gets right is the cast. Each and every actor on the show, however much small their screen presence may be, is splendid. Arjun Mathur's Karan is probably one of the finest portrayals of a gay character ever in Bollywood. Arjun has pushed the envelope and how! His vulnerability moves you to tears. Sobhita as Tara shines as the lower middle class girl who's crossed over to the other side and now, can't decide who she identifies as anymore. Even with all her flaws, she makes you root for her like nobody else. Jim Sarbh is a revelation as Adil. He's so effortless and real, you're convinced of his dilemma even without him having to spell it out for you. Shashank Arora and Kalki Koechlin also do complete justice to the characters they play. Shivani Raghuvanshi as Jazz is a treat to watch. Hers is probably of the most well-written characters and her performance adds several more layers to the writing. The cast also boasts of some brilliant actors like Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, Deepti Naval, Vinay Pathak, Neena Gupta, Vijay Raaz, and Vikrant Massey who leave a mark even in the little screen time that they get. © Amazon Prime 'Made In Heaven' is easily one of the best shows ever made in India. You've got to watch it to know what Bollywood has been missing out on all these years. It's a master class in screenwriting for the Indian film industry. Thank you for this, Zoya Akhtar!
  16. Over the years, the concept of women empowerment has been soaring in the sporting arena, making female athletes touch spheres of greatness in every aspect. While a lot of male athletes are earning in crores from their athletic careers, female stars like PV Sindhu have also matched up, for example bagging a Rs. 50 cr. deal with Li Ning is a massive accomplishment for an athlete so young. Talking of Women's Day, here are a few top female athletes of our country who have made our nation proud with their achievements: 1. Jhullan Goswami © Instagram/smriti mandana Jhullan Goswami, a world-class allrounder who has contributed to the Indian Women's cricket for more than a decade now and continues to be a valuable asset for her side. Her number one rank in the ODI format, that too at the age of 36, is itself a testimony to that. Starting off from the age of 15, Goswami has been an inspiration to many young talents around the globe. Earning laurels such as the ICC Women's Cricketer Of The Year, Fastest Bowler, Arjuna Award and Padma Shri, Jhullan stands out to be as one of the biggest stars in Indian Sports. 2. Mary Kom © Reuters “Do not say you're weak, because you are a woman,” a statement given by Mary Kom proves she's a force to be reckoned with. Being the only woman to win the World Amateur Boxing Champion for a record sixth time, she faced gender discrimination at some point of time, to which she handed a k.o and moved on. The fact that 'Magnificent Mary' gave birth to twins in 2007 and then to another son in 2013, and then went ahead to defy all naysayers by making a magnificent comeback to her winning ways, proves her mettle. The nation is proud to have such a fierce warrior. 3. Saina Nehwal © Reuters The former World no.1 in women's badminton is another star of our country who has constantly been a role model for many upcoming female athletes. Kicking off at the age of 16 as the U-19 National champion, Nehwal has never bothered to look back and has been strong in her journey till now. Winning over 24 world titles in her journey so far, the shuttler has inspired people at every step of her life. We hope she goes on to win many more laurels for herself and for the country too. 4. Smriti Mandana © Instagram/@Smriti Mandana Smriti Mandana is yet another Wonder Woman in the Indian Women's cricket team. Taking inspiration from her role-model Jhullan Goswami, Madana has out-performed everyone in recent times, bagging the ICC Women Cricketer of the year and ICC ODI Player of the year awards this year. The 22-year-old herself faced a lot of discrimination in her early days as she was not given admission in any coaching academy just because of her gender. But her parents were the ones who made a proper pitch just for her to practice, believed in her and helped her to reach where she is today. 5. PV Sindhu © Twitter/@pv sindhu PV Sindhu, another superstar in the International Badminton circuit, has worked her way to the top of the Indian sports industry. Being the true example of a star, she has not only excelled in her field but has also given tough competition to many male athletes. Soon after Indian skipper, Virat Kohli signed an eight-year endorsement contract with Puma for around 100 crores, Sindhu also raked in a massive 50 crore deal with Li-Ning for mere four years. Adding to her laurels, she became the first woman to co-pilot Tejas in a recently held Aero India Show.
  17. Why don't most people know how to apologize after making a mistake? It's a genuine question. Most of the time, an apology by a famous person goes something like this - “I'm sorry what I said offended a lot of people, I didn't mean it like that.” Honestly, that's not really an apology. If the person was actually sorry, it would go something like, “I'm sorry for my ignorance, I realize I made a mistake when I said that offensive thing. I will try to learn from this and better myself.” It's that simple, tbh, and a lot of people still don't understand. I apologize for the mini-rant but Trevor Noah has gone and done it again, and he needs to be taught a lesson. If you remember, he made a racist and extremely insensitive joke about the tensions going on between India and Pakistan and the possibility of a war between the two countries. If someone actually found it even slightly funny, they should honestly take some time to reflect on their own racism. This was a widely discussed topic and Trevor was thrashed on Twitter left, right and centre for this unfunny bit from his show 'The Daily Show'. Finally, he must have realized the backlash he was getting and tried to justify his comments, and ended up giving a half-assed apology. Someone tried to bring up how sad it was for him to joke about violence like that, when he's seen violence in his family first-hand and can probably understand how wrong it is. It's sad when someone who's had a violent past mocks war through a Bollywood stereotype. @Trevornoah 's mother was shot in the head by her husband(Trevor's stepfather).Imagine someone making fun of it with a Xhosa stereotype - the tribe his mum belongs topic.twitter.com/pUFrm3Iavv — Zainab Sikander (@zainabsikander) March 2, 2019 Replying to this particular tweet, he said making jokes is how he deals with “pain and discomfort” but “I'm sorry this hurt you and others”. Please refer to the mini-rant in the starting, thanks. Actually if you watch my stand up you'll see that I did make jokes after my mother was shot in the head. As a comedian I use comedy to process pain and discomfort in my world but I am sorry that this hurt you and others, that's not what I was trying to do. https://t.co/OuVnkHyIfG — Trevor Noah (@Trevornoah) March 2, 2019 He followed it up by another half-assed tweet, trying to justify his actions, again. It's amazing to me that my joke about the conflict in India and Pakistan trended more than the story of the actual conflict itself. Sometimes it seems like people are more offended by the jokes comedians make about an issue than the issue itself. — Trevor Noah (@Trevornoah) March 2, 2019 Who's gonna tell him that his racist remarks were a minor story here compared to everything going on between India and Pakistan? Looks like he tried to again downplay the potential war by saying that no one is even talking about the conflict, instead they're offended by his joke more. People again had to call him out, even though he's proved that it doesn't matter to him and he will continue to be a jerk about the entire thing. Mate, your racist joke was criticised by a small section of people on social media. Don't be under the impression that it mattered more than the conflict itself. Most people don't even know you here. People have lost lives. — Siddharth Singh (@siddharth3) March 3, 2019 What a hypocrite. This is a seriously shitty take. Also factually incorrect. In the nations that were involved in potential conflict, the soldiers trended far more than your “joke”. It's surprising to see that racist stereotypes aren't a problem for you when it comes to other cultures. — Sandhya Ramesh (@sandygrains) March 3, 2019 So ironic. This response coming from someone who has made a living out of calling out others for racism and racial stereotypes and has provided the fuel for the whole "perpetual outrage factory" is possibly the most genuinely funny thing in this whole affair. — Arnab Ray (@greatbong) March 3, 2019 Not funny at all. You are still being a dick about a sensitive issue which involves 2 countries which are in a tense situation. You made fun of Indian armed forces without knowing how after a terror attack 44 Indian security force personnels lost their life. No it was not funny & very racist joke. — Abhishek Jain (@iabhishek_j) March 2, 2019 Ooh, that's gotta hurt. You are no better than the fascist nuts you make fun of. Insensitive little prick. — Gabbbar (@GabbbarSingh) March 3, 2019 Very surprising. Yo, the Apu accent and joking about Bollywood when it comes to India became old last century. I'm surprised you didn't throw in a butter chicken joke alongside to make it the holy trinity of the stereotype Indian gag. — Nishtha (@RootKanal) March 2, 2019 Yep. ð pic.twitter.com/Vq7cz64f5s — **** da SuperBowl, #Free21Savage! (@Tenji95) March 2, 2019 Don't do it, man. The joke might or might not have been offensive/funny, but this right here is a damn shitty thing to say. Don't do this Trevor ð¤¦ð½‍âï¸ — Sucharita Tyagi (@Su4ita) March 3, 2019
  18. Despite the stories of The Undertaker dying 7-8 times only to return to WWE, it may come to a lot of people as a huge surprise (maybe even an emotional trauma) that wrestling is NOT REAL. The in-ring performers do not have real life rivalries (not usually) against each other and let's face it, nobody in their right mind would want to have a personal beef with someone as massive and scary as Brock Lesnar. No, Kane didn't roam around with a scary mask back in the day, nor is Dean Ambrose a real-life 'lunatic fringe', going around the city with a cane stick. In wrestling terms, these are gimmicks and are known as 'kayfabe characters' that wrestlers don in order to entertain the audience as good or bad guys. While in a sector as competitive as WWE, wrestlers tend to work on their characters time and again in order to stay relevant with time, there are some stars who struggled to relate with the wrestling fans initially but finally found their calling in some of the most unique personas that anybody had the imagination to come up with. Here are the top 4 times WWE wrestlers changed their in-ring gimmick that led them to all the fame and fortune in the world: Rocky Maivia To The Rock You know that we aren't kidding around when we start our list with “the most electrifying man in the business”, Dwayne Johnson who is not only one of the biggest names in the wrestling world but also a Hollywood icon and his gimmick as The Rock had a major part in propelling him to such heights. His charisma and the ability to come up with the greatest of insults instantly got him his millions and millions of followers. But before he became 'The Rock', he was 'Rocky Maivia', an over-friendly guy with noodles for his hair (his words, not ours) who was literally hated by the WWE Universe so much that they'd chant “Die Rocky, Die” everytime Maivia stepped inside the ring. Evil Dentist To Kane The Big Red Machine and The Undertaker's brother Kane was a scary big man with a mask and the physique which was that of a monster. Never the one to spend too much time behind the microphone and not indulging too much in comical backstage cuts was Glen Jacobs thing and it worked for him like a charm. But before being one half of the Brothers of Destruction, Kane was known as Dr. Isaac Yankem, an evil dentist employed by Jerry 'The King' Lawler in a mid-90s feud with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. With rotten teeth, curly hair and an awful French beard, Jacobs admittedly hated his character of Dr. Yankem to its core. The Ringmaster To 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin Beer drinking, limp-walking baldy with an ego probably bigger than WWE as a business, that's the Texas Rattlesnake 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin for you. The leader of the 'Attitude Era', Austin's feuds with Vince McMahon and The Rock continue to be fan favourites and had led WWE to the pinnacle of its weekly viewership. However, Austin 3:16 wasn't always the egomaniacal badass we remember him to be. Before donning the jeans-shorts and scary knee braces, he used to be known as 'The Ringmaster', a clean shaven wrestler who used to fight in green tights and was hired by Ted DIbiase 'The Million Dollar Man' as the next of kin for his Million Dollar Belt. The Ringmaster was a disaster. The Prototype To John Cena Probably the closest wrestler to command a reaction as dynamic as The Rock, John Cena has been on top of the food chain in the modern PG era. His brilliant physique combined with his microphone skills and the ability giants like Mark Henry and Big Show on his shoulders for an Attitude Adjustment led him to creating his own Cenation of John Cena fans. But that wasn't always the case for the Champ. Before coming into WWE, Cena was known as 'The Prototype' which basically meant that he was more of a cyborg. Forced to move like a robot, Cena had to talk like a machine as well. Cena described his 'Prototype' gimmick as “50 percent man, 50 percent machine, 100 percent crap”.
  19. It's 2019 and a lot of people - and comedians - still haven't got the memo that if they need to be insensitive and not politically correct, then they're not as funny as they think. The lastest, most unexpected person who needs to hear this is Trevor Noah. Trevor Noah, the host of 'The Daily Show', ended up making a very untasteful joke about the Indian-Pakistan tensions on an episode of his show recently. We know how the turbulence between the two countries are at an all-time high right now, and that absolutely nothing about this situation is a joke. So, Trevor's racist take on the situation, obviously, did not sit well with the desi people. He started off by saying that if India and Pakistan did go to war, “it would be the most entertaining war of all time”. Umm? What? Does he really think he can make a joke about war? And, call that war “entertaining” for crying out loud? © YouTube He then followed with his reason why it would be entertaining. He said, “Cause the Indian soldiers would run out on the battlefield and be like - 'Time for you to die'.” The last part is said while singing in a very bad, racist accent, think Apu from The Simpsons, but 10 times worse. It was then followed by some random singing for some reason. Yeah, because every war has background music right? Then, keeping up with this racist narrative, he also thought it would be the longest war of all time because of all the dance numbers. Yes, Trevor, all the soldiers here are practising new dance numbers, that's what a war is, of course, it's not serious. For the longest time, India has been stereotyped as the nation with just dancing and singing and for years, people have been making fun of that because obviously, real life is just like a Bollywood movie, right? What's disappointing is that it's still going on, it's about damn time people stop with the racism. This whole controversy has obviously enraged every sane person, and people aren't holding back while calling him out. Moreover, even with everything going on between India and Pakistan, people from both sides have united to drag him. Even though this is against India and I am a Pakistani, this is still pretty racist @Trevornoah We may have our issues but **** you for racism.pic.twitter.com/qxN9ORh9Dl — Waqas (@waqas_x) February 28, 2019 So disappointing. How tremendously disappointing, @Trevornoah. War is NOT a form of entertainment. You spend 80% of your time criticizing Trump and the violence he could be stirring, but the possibility of India and Pakistan engaging in actual war is a filmy song and dance to you? https://t.co/dlR0gdvHQU — Riddhi Chakraborty (@thisisridz) February 28, 2019 Everyone should be worried. Usually I like @Trevornoah but his remarks on the India-Pakistan situation really irked me. You cannot compare an ongoing enmity originating back to the British empire to a petty squabble between two rappers. 20. It's never too late for anyone to follow their dreams. India's Mohammed Shami has proven that to be a true as he has made a historic return to the Indian cricket team after more than a year and a half and has flourished against the toughest of rivals the Men in Blue have gone against ever since. The year 2018 was extremely tough on the Indian pacer had he was not only on his way to recovering from a career-threatening knee injury but was also being slammed by the media and the judicial system for the ugly divorce case was he going through. For an athlete, the mental impact of an injury as severe as Shami's can be a lot more devastating than the physical damage. Add to that the constant stress of the infamous case being broadcasted nationwide and the results can be beyond repairable. Thankfully for Mohammed Shami, who not only won the case against his ex-wife but also was able to make a fantastic comeback, overcame the demons in his head and now is one of the more dependable bowlers for the Indian roster who has a great chance of getting a berth in the World Cup roster. But what led to the heroic comeback of the pacer? According to his interview with India Today, Shami was able to return to his glory days because of the sudden change in the culture of the team. “The fitness awakening that we have had has had a huge impact on me. I looked at others and worked on my game. I have enjoyed it fully. The fitness culture that we have in our team is amazing, you cannot even think about it,” said the cricketer. Taking inspiration from the more athletic teammates with the likes of Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, Shami, who had failed the famous 'Yo-Yo' fitness test last year, not only passed by also became one of the top performers ahead of India's long multi-national tour began in late 2018, according to the team's head coach, Ravi Shastri. In the series against Australia and New Zealand, Shami was not only one of the most successful Indian bowlers but also became the fastest Indian bowler to take 100 ODI wickets (56 matches) breaking Irfan Pathan's record of 59 matches. 100 ODI wickets and counting for @MdShami11 ðð#TeamIndia #NZvIND pic.twitter.com/3RVvthg1CH — BCCI (@BCCI) January 23, 2019 “I am thankful to God that I have been able to make this record. There are many reasons behind it. Biggest is the unbelievably brilliant atmosphere in the dressing room, followed by the confidence that I have in ability right now and also the things that I continue to learn from our coaches,” said Shami. “Everything has contributed and combined to take me to the another level. There are many minute things which bring in a lot of confidence and help us to get into the rhythm. For instance, not just on the ground, have a look at the way we (Indian players) treat each other off the field too. We enjoy every little thing. This helps a great deal,” said Shami. Shami is named for the final squad for the five-match ODI series against Australia and will also be playing for King XI Punjab in the 12th edition of the Indian Primier League (IPL) this season.
  21. The thing that made 'Gully Boy' such a huge success is that it's a character-driven piece of cinema, where every character got its fair share of screen time, as well as importance in the storyline. Of course, all the actors gave their heart and soul to make it a success, and it happens very rarely in Bollywood. Out of those characters, MC Sher of course was able to win hearts as soon as he made his entry, but there is one more character that people remember and love, because of the sheer intensity and realism involved in its execution. The character of 'Moeen Bhai' was played by Vijay Varma with such honesty and grit, that it will be remembered by Bollywood for a very long time. Now, Vijay Varma's effortless screen presence has already made its mark, but did you know the man is just as effortless as a fashionista? Don't believe us? Here are 10 pictures that establish our claim. 1. Look at him teach us the true meaning of how to be cool in this pleated jumpsuit. 22. 'Gully Boy' may have taken the box office by storm, but actually, it's the hearts of the audience that the movie seems to have captured. Given that it was one of 2019's most anticipated movies, Bollywood fans couldn't contain their excitement, and all the hype around the film ensured that fans were kept primed for the 'real deal' from the very beginning of the year. Now, with the film's release on Valentine's Day last week, the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer has been topping every chart that there is, including its box office collection, which has already crossed the 70 crore mark with four days, and the audience cannot seem to get enough of its songs, characters, plot and what not. (c) Excel Entertainment However, if there is one thing in particular that people cannot stop gushing about after a viewing of 'Gully Boy', it is the tremendous effect the supporting cast of the film has on the entire experience. Movie-goers simply cannot stop praising the impact and dimension the supporting actors have lent to the film, heightening the movie-watching experience even further. Viewers have even picked their favourites amongst the leading supporting actors and have gone on to add how each of them carries the film forward on their shoulders, supported by their talent and stellar acting. 1. Siddhant Chaturvedi (c) Excel Entertainment MC Sher is so realistic a character on-screen, and the man behind the character is an equal marvel. Talented and a natural in front of the camera, Siddhant performs the role of the guru and confidante perfectly in the film. He inspires trust and admiration with his character and we love that he stands beside Ranveer like a pillar of strength, all the way. Um, Gully Boy, scratch that, Bollywood needs more of Siddhant Chaturvedi — Chavvi (@chavvim) February 18, 2019 Siddhant Chaturvedi is the next big thing in Bollywood! Stole every scene he was a part of! #gullyboy — Abhijeet Dash (@AbhijeetDash9) February 17, 2019 2. Vijay Raaz (c) Excel Entertainment The man needs no introduction, yet Raaz's new avatar in the film had us sitting on the edge of our seats the whole time. Gone was the funnyman, and here was a violent and abusive husband and father, and his constant fight against defiance almost makes you hate him, until you behold the man suppressed within the layers of a human who has long lived a handed-down life. Also worth mentioning the terrific acting skills of Vijay Raaz. Have always been a fan. Such an understated yet powerful performer. Zoya Akhtar and whoever did the casting deserves as much applause as any other department. The casting for most parts is spot on. #GullyBoy — Ranjit Nair (@ranzzit) February 18, 2019 How good was Vijay Raaz in #GullyBoy?! Absolutely loved it. From 'Kawwa biryani' to this, man has come a long way. — HK. (@HammaadKhaann) February 18, 2019 3. Amruta Subhash (c) Excel Entertainment A regular face in the Marathi film industry, Amruta nails it as Murad's mother with her feisty and loud comebacks. Initially a pawn at the hands of fate and her husband, she decides to get her own back when things get out of hand. She can be gentle and a tigress all at once and we loved how authentic she made it look on-screen. Vijay Raaz as Ranveer's father is excellent n drives the story forward.Vijay Maurya is a Fab actor n his dialogues are seamlessly stiched in the bylanes of Dharavi.Sheeba Chadha as Alia's mom is v good n Amruta Subhash as Ranveer's mom wins u over completely. #GullyBoy — Faridoon Shahryar (@iFaridoon) February 17, 2019 The supporting cast! Amruta Subhash and Vijay Raaz. Both freakishly good actors! Zoya did that! #GullyBoy — . (@grizzlyknope) January 9, 2019 4. Vijay Varma (c) Excel Entertainment What can we say about Moeen? He is probably one of those people in the film you feel hot and cold about. You can't hate him, and yet you can't love him either, but you do appreciate him for who he is and what he represents and stands for in the film. How he selflessly stands beside Murad, despite having ideological differences, is a testimony to true friendship. On second watch of #GullyBoy can I just say Vijay Varma is absolutely incredibleð¥ the jail scene was everything — N (@pakidillastani) February 16, 2019 The performances in gully boy were so good it is difficult to decide who was the best among the others. The winner was not so obviously, Vijay Varma. Insane performance. — Orgyinho (@Siddiotic) February 17, 2019 5. Srishti Shrivastava (c) Instagram Albina Albina Albina. She is the one who was dhoptoed by Sakeena in the film due to her overtures towards Murad. Her dialogues take you for a spin and you cannot help but notice the girl taking the role and making it her own in such a short period of time. OMG !!! Srishti Shrivastava is doing the character of Albina ð³ð I didn't knew it before ð She is my fav𧡠Well you deserve it girl, you are a very good performer & Proud of you ð Keep shining ð«ð«#GullyBoy — ð§Å³mi|♥ï¸| (@SumiD_tweets) February 14, 2019
  23. Due to a very rare genetic condition, this teenager was born without a right forearm and due to his condition, it encouraged him to build a prosthetic arm made entirely out of LEGO pieces. His name is David Aguilar, 19, who is currently studying Bioengineering in Spain. His dream is to design affordable robotic limbs for the differently abled. © Instagram "As a child, I was very nervous to be in front of other guys because I was different, but that didn't stop me from believing in my dreams," he told Reuters. In total, he has built over 4 arms. However, his latest red-and-yellow Lego arm is fully functional and can be bent at the elbow joint. Lego has been David's favourite toy since the age of nine and has become his choice of building material. "I wanted to... see myself in the mirror like I see other guys, with two hands.” © Reuters His latest models are marked with “MK” followed by a number which is basically a tribute to Iron Man and his MK suits. He even has a YouTube Channel called “Hand Solo”, where he aims to show people that nothing is impossible and disability cannot stop them. The video below shows his impressive creations at work. The MKII Prosthetic arm basically works with a Lego engine and a fishing cable. He added: "I would try to give them a prosthetic, even if it's for free, to make them feel like a normal person, because what is normal, right?” Source: Reuters
  24. One wink, just one wink was all it took for Priya Prakash Varrier to reach the star-status. Arguably the biggest viral sensation we've seen in this country last year, the actress became everyone's crush overnight and for weeks people couldn't stop talking about her. image1 It seemed like everything was going right for her, but something good doesn't last forever. This year, Priya's only been surrounded by controversies and has had an overall negative response from everyone, from her upcoming movie 'Sridevi Bungalow' to a kissing scene that has now surfaced online. A scene from 'Oru Adaar Love', the same movie where the famous wink scene comes from, is now online and it shows Priya and her co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof kissing while dressed in their school uniform. So basically, they're showing school kids kissing and it's obviously not sitting well with the very conservative Indian audience. Here's what everyone is saying. #PriyaPrakashVarrier #OruAdaarLove Stop creating bad influence among the school kids...will u accept if it happen to ur child... This is thumbs down from my side.ðð — Harshit Kabra (@harshitspkabra) February 8, 2019 Umm. Not here..!!#PriyaVarrier#PriyaPrakashVarrier — CyberSikandar ™ (@CyberSikandar) February 8, 2019 Why so much hate? Talent & hard work is what takes you forward in long run not lip locking or an eye wink. Grow up people! #PriyaPrakashVarrier #priyavarrier — Amit Yadav (@MythoughtsAmit) February 7, 2019 Yep. The reason why India isn't developed. So #PriyaPrakashVarrier an ACTOR playing a high school girl kissing her on screen boyfriend is matter of concern but women being raped and harassed isn't? yikes — Satyam Arora (@hellasatyam) February 8, 2019 Yes, it is. #PriyaPrakashVarrier became a national crush for her "wink" last year & now after a year she is being trolled for a "lip-lock" scene . Social Media is indeed scary — áµáµâ¿á¶Ê°â±â¡ (@lostpanchi) February 8, 2019
  25. What do you keep in mind when you're shopping for a new t shirt? Chances are, not a whole lot. In all fairness, when confronted with shelves upon shelves of t shirts that feature a mind-boggling array of fabrics and fits, it doesn't take long for this seemingly straightforward chore to turn into a Herculean task. It's around this time that we start wondering, “How important IS a t shirt, really?” before grabbing the first ones that fit, from the first store we enter, and then simply forgetting about them until we need new ones. As it turns out, buying the right t shirt is actually quite important - after all, there isn't a more dependable and durable article of clothing in your entire wardrobe. Whether worn casually on its own or as part of a more suave layered ensemble, the ideal t shirt feels like a second skin. So, it makes sense that your first point of consideration should be its fabric. And when it comes to looking for quality t shirt fabric that's light and comfortable while at the same time strong and durable, you can't get any better than supima cotton. Haven't heard of supima cotton before? Don't worry, we've done all the necessary research on why supima cotton is the ideal fabric for your t shirts. Read on, and we're sure you'll feel the same way when you get to the end! Supima Cotton Should Be Your Go-To T Shirt Fabric And Here's Why 1. It's Good For Your Wallet (No, Seriously) © Pixabay This isn't a sneaky ploy to get you to switch to supima, there's actually logic and reasoning behind it. It's all got to do with long term thinking - supima cotton is two times as strong as regular cotton, and produces products that are much more durable and resistant to daily wear and tear. So while you might not see the difference on the price tag, the extraordinary resilience of the supima cotton t shirts make them an ideal long term investment. You'll definitely notice the welcome change in your wallet in the long run, because you won't need to splurge on buying new t shirts as often! 2. It Makes For A Tee-riffic Fashion Experience © Pexels Thanks to its extra long staple cotton fibres, supima cotton makes for extra smooth products that feel sumptuously soft on your skin. Regular cotton fibres are about one inch long, whereas supima cotton's fibre averages one and a half, so it's an appreciable difference too! So, as we said earlier, the ideal t shirt needs to feel like your second skin, which is why it makes sense that it's made from a fabric that's soft, comfortable and breathable. They're also much more breathable than those made from regular cotton, so they won't stick to your skin annoyingly in the hot, sultry weather. As a welcome added bonus, while regular cotton products become increasingly rough over time thanks to countless washes, supima cotton products only get softer as time passes. 3. It'll Make Your Wardrobe Pop © Unsplash It's not just about the feel of supima cotton products - it's the look that's superior as well. The extra long fibres of supima cotton are not only more comfortable, they also absorb colour with a deeper, more lasting penetration. The enhanced shade depth elevates your wardrobe instantly, giving you the option of playing around with richer hues that are sure to make any outfits stand out. And while regular cotton products fade over time, you can rest assured that supima products retain their brilliance year after year, wash after wash. 4. It'll Help You Become A Friend Of Nature © Unsplash We've all heard horror stories of the trials and travails of farmers in remote parts of the world (especially India!) who work tirelessly in their fields to provide the really top-notch fabrics for our pleasure, only to be paid a pittance for their efforts. That's not the case with supima cotton, however - the utmost care is taken to ensure that there is minimum impact on the environment. GPS-navigated tractors are used to plant and harvest the cotton, and satellite technology and soil monitors are used to monitor the conditions. The result is the best quality cotton in the world which you can wear with aplomb, secure in the knowledge that the environment was not harmed in the process. 5. It Doesn't Need Any Extra Attention © Pixabay A running theme with the most exclusive items - be it the fabrics in your wardrobe, gadgets in your room, showpieces on your shelves - is that they need painstaking care to maintain them in all their glory. Not in this case - despite its clear and distinct superiority over regular cotton, supima cotton products do not require any special treatment and can be taken care of just like your regular cotton clothes.
