  1. Post the phenomenal success of Uri, Vicky Kaushal was on a short break in 2019 before he resumed filming again for various projects. The actor is now prepping for Karan Johar's Takht where he will be seen starring alongside Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor. So, now that he's back at the game again, Vicky Kaushal is making sure that he's also armed in the best way whenever he steps out. This also translates into his outfits. Kaushal's signature style can be easily described as accessible aesthetic, courtesy his stylist Amandeep Kaur. © Viral Bhayani Recently, he was spotted wearing a light blue coloured sweatshirt, grey track pants with a pair of really edgy yet vibrant sneakers. Take a look here: © Viral Bhayani Vicky is wearing the green colourway sneakers from the Sacai x Nike LDWaffle Collection. © Viral Bhayani In collaboration with Japanese high-fashion label Sacai, the silhouette is a hybrid in a double-themed design. This special-edition sneaker combines the elements: Waffle Daybreak and LDV. The sneaker also features double tongues, shoelaces, and swooshes on the side and a co-branded insignia of Nike x Sacai on the heel tab. The silhouette retails at 13,995 Rupees. © Viral Bhayani The interesting element of these sneakers is that they have an added wedge, so wearing them will definitely add a couple of inches to your height. Not that Vicky needs it. We wonder if he has to bend a little to enter through doors while he's wearing these sneakers. View the full article
  2. The Indian cricket team, the Men In Blue, the second best ODI team in the world according to ICC Rankings, felt more like a class 12th bully, insecure of his weaknesses and covering it all up with a facade of false toughness. On Tuesday, however, Aaron Finch and the Australian side saw right through the pretense and gave the kind of beating Team India had coming, for a long, long time. The âclass-12-bullyâ analogy seems to make more sense than youâd imagine. Ever since their ICC World Cup 2019 ended in disappointment, India have been facing teams like the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and South Africa. These teams, although historically good, are currently in the nascent stages of rebuilding and their education is still far from complete. For India to crush them in their ways, mostly at home, sure would have given a solid boost of confidence to Virat Kohli and Co. They were clearly the best of the lot, the dominating ones who could do whatever they wanted, who could defeat all the Lasith Malingas and Kieron Pollards in their sleep. © AP But then something happened. These class-12 bullies graduated from school and entered college. Suddenly, the senior most batch of kids became âfreshiesâ and the Australians were the third-year students, looking forward to all the ragging. This is the big league. For the first time in seven months, India were up against a top-four ODI team of the world and the result was more obvious than a lot of people would have imagined. Wankhede witnessed absolute humiliation of the hosts as Aussie openers David Warner and Finch chased down a total of 255 runs on their own and made Kohli taste one of the worst defeats since he became captain. © AP With no loss of wickets, the Finch-Warner duo successfully met Indiaâs not so impressive total in just 38 overs and finished the game off in style with a boundary towards the mid-off on a full ball by Mohammed Shami. Other than a formidable 74 by Shikhar Dhawan, there was nothing good to take from the Indian batting lineup. During the second half of the game, our bowlers ran around like headless chickens. From newbies like Shardul Thakur to Jasprit âThe Best That We Haveâ Bumrah, all were treated with equal love with an overall economy of 7.78 by the pacers. Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav did comparatively better (combined econ: 5.33). © AP The Indian skipper rightfully mentioned that his boys were outplayed in all three departments of the game and the men from Down Under made a mockery out of them. This beating that our âfreshiesâ took was an important lesson. It had to be done. The loss only goes on to show how far away we are from being good enough to even think about winning a World Cup, regardless of the format. Yes, we have been experimenting with our players and giving an opportunity to the youngsters to make an international appearance but it is about time we settle in, focus on one team. A set group of 15 men must be established and start working on the chemistry between themselves, just them. © AP Credit to Team Australia as well, for showing up and giving the Men in Blue a wakeup call. Although this was just the first of three ODIs the two sides are going to play during the series, the sheer one-sidedness cannot be ignored. We are not ready for big games and no matter how many records our cricketers may have broken in the latter half of 2019, it only goes on to show that none of it would matter if we fail to do good in the matches that matter. 3. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt became the talk of the town after they were sighted at the prestigious Golden Globes’ award ceremony side by side this year, seated at tables only feet apart. However, the former couple did not really make an appearance together at the glitzy award night and left their fans craving for more. To treat their fans today, we stumbled upon an old video of the former flames attending the Golden Globes together, and supporting each other in taking home the coveted award. The video dates back to 2003, two years prior to when Jen and Brad called it quits on their marriage. It shows the loving husband cheering his ladylove on, as her name gets called out amongst the nominations for 'Best Actress TV Series Musical or Comedy' category for her role in hit sitcom Friends. As Jen beat actresses like Sarah Jessica Parker and various others, an elated and gleeful Brad looked at her from the audience as she delivered her acceptance speech. An overwhelmed and speechless Jen began by thanking her co-stars, “I have to thank these five people; Matthew Perry, David Shwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc. I love you guys. You started out as my colleagues, and you are my friends, and you are my family,” she said. Jen added, "This wouldn't be even happening if it was not from what I learn from you guys everyday," while paying tribute to the creators and writers of the show too. “I love my job,” Jen ended her speech as Brad applauded from the audience with a warm smile on his face.
  4. If you have been wanting to get a VR headset that doesnât make you look weird, Panasonic may have an answer for you. The Japanese company launched a new VR headset that has a very steampunk vibe and looks less bulky than any VR headset we have seen until now. image 2 Panasonic claims that it is âthe worldâs first HDR UHD virtual reality eyeglassesâ and are the most advanced glasses ever made. The design of the VR headset certainly reminds us of a pair of sunglasses and is very different from the usual VR headset we have seen so far. image 3 The company says that with the growth of 5G, it can expand the uses of the VR glasses. Panasonic said in a press release, âWith the anticipation of the forthcoming full-fledged commercial services of the fifth-generation (5G) mobile communications system, a number of new services using VR glasses are expected to be offered, including for VR sports viewing and engaging virtual travel experiences.â Panasonicâs VR glasses sport a 1.3-inch OLED panel for each eye and can deliver a picture resolution of 2560 x 2560. The VR glasses need to be connected to a PC which means it does not have any on-board processing capabilities. image 1 The current VR glasses weigh around 300g which may sound heavier than usual but Panasonic is going to reduce the weight by half for the final product. Currently, the VR glasses are in the prototype stage which means there is no telling when the final product will be available to purchase. VR headsets are mostly used in virtual experiences and gaming. Currently, there are a plethora of games available on Steam that support VR and in 2020 we expect even more games to release with virtual reality support. Would you buy Panasonicâs less bulky VR glasses? What do you think of the design and how does it compare to VR headsets youâve seen before? Let us know in the comments. View the full article
  5. Fortnite is still the biggest game in the world and there's no denying that. While we really don't need any numbers to prove it, but there are solid figures that tell that the battle royale game made more money in digital sales than any other video game in 2019. That's right! Fortnite was once again the top-grossing online video game of the year. It's not really a surprise since it topped the list last year as well, and we hardly saw any other game running to snatch that title this year. © Reuters According to the data revealed in a report, Fortnite managed to bring in a staggering $1.8 billion in revenue in 2019. That's a lot of money for a game that's technically free-to-play. Even the premium titles fail to scoop that much. That being said, it's worth pointing out that the overall sales figure is down a quarter from 2018. In 2018, Fortnite earned a record-setting $2.4 billion, a number that's still hard to fathom for an online free-to-play multiplayer game. If anything, then it should tell you that Fortnite's popularity is setting in. Fornite has become a household name now, and there's hardly anybody out there on the internet who's not familiar with Fortnite. © Epic Games Part of the reason why people spend money on Fortnite is because of the content. The folks over at Epic Games managed to strike some of the best partnerships. The company teamed up with the likes of musician Marshmello, Marvel's Avengers, Nike for Air Jordan, and ended the year strong with Star Wars content. It's things like this that make people want to hand out money and buy new items. The more items you have on the store, the more battle passes and cosmetic items you're going to be selling. It's as simple as that. With its numbers, Fortnite also managed to beat out titles like FIFA 19, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, Candy Crush, Pokémon Go, and more. Fornite managed to dwarf even the world's largest PC game, League Of Legends, which brought in $1.5 billion last year. Source: Superdata View the full article
  6. A heartwarming video of an elderly man rescuing a cat has surfaced on the internet and is winning hearts. In the video, we can see the cat has climbed on top of a tin roof over a shop, wherein it got stuck. One elderly man spotted the cat and decided to help. So, he took a chair and held it over his head so that the cat could jump on the chair and then could be freed. Soon, the cat jumped on the chair and ran away as soon as it was brought to the ground. The video has already been viewed around nine lakh times on Facebook and has also created a lot of buzz on Twitter. 7. More often than not, politicians end up making some really weird claims, with no scientific reasoning behind it whatsoever, and we laugh at them until we realise these people are actually running the country in a way. Yep, that realisation brings us back to reality about how screwed up the country actually is because people like these are in power. But, unless and until there is an IQ cutoff implemented to becoming a politician, all we can do is laugh at them and hope that they think not twice but at least thrice before opening their mouths. With the year ending, here is a list of all the outrageous claims made by some politicians. 1. Speaking Sanskrit prevents Cholesterol and Diabetes © Reuters Starting with the latest one, just a few days ago BJP MP Ganesh Singh had the best idea to prevent cholesterol and diabetes. According to him, people just need to speak in Sanskrit to fight those serious diseases. Wow, the solution was always right there, I feel bad for doctors right now, looks like they're out of a job now. 2. Every desi cow's milk contains gold © Reuters Another 'golden' comment, literally. Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh loves desi cows so much he honestly believes they contain gold. His entire quote is a wild ride, tbh - "Our desi cows have a special characteristic. There is gold mixed in their milk and that is why their milk is golden. There is a blood vessel that helps produce gold with the help of sunlight. So, we have to keep those cows. If we drink desi cow milk, we will become healthy and can prevent diseases." John Mayer may have said 'your body is a wonderland', but Dilip Ghosh is saying 'our stomachs are a goldmine'. 3. Cows exhale oxygen © Reuters Now, I'm convinced that these people really consider cows are like some super beings. What else would explain so many hilariously bizarre claims relating to cows? Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat really thought - probably still thinks - that cows exhale oxygen. We've learned so many new things this year, the things we never even learned in school. 4. Wanting to make roads in Bhopal 'chakachak, just like Hema Malini's cheeks' © Twitter Well, this one is not a 'scientific claim', but it's still so outrageous that it deserved a place on this list. Madhya Pradesh minister PC Sharma the roads in Bhopal would soon be 'chakachak, just like Hema Malini's cheeks' Kailash Vijayvargiya's cheeks'. Even though the comment is about cheeks, it's not cheeky at all, it's just straight-up creepy. 5. PM Modi brought 'bad luck' to Chandrayan-2 © Reuters Remember Chadrayaan-2 and how things went wrong when contact was lost with just 2kms to go for the touchdown? Well, ex-Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy decided to put the blame on one person - PM Narendra Modi.He said, "He came here (Bengaluru) to advertise that he is responsible for the success of Chandrayaan. Once he set foot in ISRO centre, I don't know if it turned into bad luck for scientists. Scientists have toiled for 10-12 years. It (the moon mission) was approved by the cabinet in 2008-09 and funds were released the same year. Modi came here to claim that he was behind the launch of Chandrayaan-2." Bonus point 1 - Kauravas were test tube babies © Twitter This one is not said by a politician but it needed to be here, because someone literally claimed Kauravas were test-tube babies. Doesn't get any more worse. Basically, G Nageshwar Rao, the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, claimed, "We had hundreds of Kauravas from one mother because of stem cell research and test tube baby technology. It happened a few thousand years ago. This was science in this country...Mahabharat says, 100 eggs were fertilised and put into 100 earthen pots. Are they not test-tube babies? Stem cell research in this country was present thousands of years ago." I have no words. Bonus point 2 - PM Modi's tweet I want this Government to be criticised. Criticism makes democracy strong: PM @narendramodi — PMO India (@PMOIndia) April 18, 2018 Leaving it here without any comment. View the full article
  8. What makes Saif Ali Khan an inimitable celebrity is his ability and willingness to experiment. Right from Sacred Games to Laal Kaptaan, and now Tanhaji, this man has proved that he can pull off any role with equal panache, even if he has to go through extreme transformations for them - physical and otherwise. He just proved it again with the poster of his latest film, Jawaani Jaaneman. © Pooja Entertainment The poster is out, and to begin with, his face was not visible in the poster. We could only see a well-built man lying down on his bed, with the background of a seemingly 'eventful night'. Eventually, the version with his face was released, and we can't get over how the 49 year old doesn't look a day over 29 in the poster (even though apparently he plays a 40-year-old dad in the movie). Here are five grooming hacks that effortlessly sliced 20 years off from his age. © Pooja Entertainment 1. Flawless skin Boys, please start taking care of your skin. Although the debauchery shown in the poster suggests against it, flawless skin requires discipline in terms of a good lifestyle and diet. Also, please wash your face with a mild face wash every night, before going to bed. 2. A sharp haircut Messy hair is great, but not everyone can pull it off. The safest thing to do to look great: just get a basic sharp fade or crew that will have your back, every time. 3. A quirky tattoo It may sound incredibly basic and cliched, but tattoos can look really cool. Want to add that edgy factor to your demeanour (at least superficially)? Get a cool tattoo. It sure helped Saif. 4. Accessories Accessorize well, please. Saif's neckpiece, his watch, and his rings add that calculated but sufficient burst of oomph, that will set you apart in a crowd. 5. Fitness Okay, this one is basic, and some of you probably are angry to see this on this list. But trust us, fitness can change your fashion and grooming game instantly. A little bit of discipline goes a long way. Saif wouldn't be looking 29 at the age of 49, if he weren't fit. View the full article
  9. 2019 saw India take a huge leap from being just a cricket crazy country to accepting the diversity of sports that Indian athletes are actually good at. While some of these moments were completely based on the gravity of the titles won by numerous Indian sport stars, others were more about making a statement and taking a stand against wrong social norms and coming out victorious. Here are the five greatest Indian sporting moments of 2019: 1. PV Sindhu Wins BWF World Championships Pusarla Venkata Sindhu etched her name as one of the finest in the history of badminton when she won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. But when she became the first Indian to win the BWF World Championship gold in 2019, she created a class of her own. Sourav Ganguly Becomes BCCI President (2019) October 23, 2019 saw the 'Prince of Kolkata' become the ruler of Indian cricket. After successfully running the Cricket Association of Bengal for years, Sourav Ganguly was appointed as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), albeit for a period of just nine months. It's official - @SGanguly99 formally elected as the President of BCCI pic.twitter.com/Ln1VkCTyIW — BCCI (@BCCI) October 23, 2019 Ever since assuming the position, Ganguly has been able to bring about some brilliant and much-needed changes in Indian cricket, with the introduction of Day-Night Test cricket in the country being the biggest so far. 3. Pankaj Advani Wins 23rd World Title (2019) If you'd listen to Pankaj Advani talk about the difficult situations under which his family was forced to move back to India during the Gulf War and how his mother raised his brother and him, you'd realise what a prodigy he was. View this post on Instagram The smiles say it all ðð.. IBSF World Team Snooker Champions ð.. Fantastic team effort and huge congrats to my teammate @adit147 for your maiden World Title ðð #Champions #worldtitle #snooker #elated A post shared by Pankaj Advani (@pankajadvaniofficial) on Sep 25, 2019 at 10:24pm PDT Falling in love with the game of snooker by watching his brother play in a parlour, Advani's relationship with the sport led him to winning his 23rd International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) world title in September 2019, making his name appear on every title that the federation had to offer. 4. Special Olympics Bharat Dominating World Games (2019) What makes a sporting moment “great”? Is it the number of people talking about it or the kind of prize money the winner earns from it? Or is it the essence of the dedication and hard work of the athletes, their supporting teams and their families put behind them that make it a true success? .@SpecialOlympics athlete Manali Manoj Shelke shows us that if at first you don't succeed... Try, try again ðª pic.twitter.com/Vy88d8Vpjt — ESPN (@espn) March 15, 2019 One of the most underrated and least talked-about Indian sports stories of the year belongs to our athletes with intellectual disability, our special olympians, who dominated the 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi in March earlier this year. With 368 medals, the Indian contingent went on to set such massive national records and proved that their sportsman's spirit was no less than that of a Virat Kohli or a PV Sindhu. 5. Dutee Chand Opens Up About Same-*** Relationship In May, sprinter Dutee Chand revealed in an interview that she was in fact homosexual and had been in a serious and a happy relationship with her partner for some time now. While she refused to identify her partner because she didn't want to make her the "the centre of undue attention," Chand did become the first Indian athlete to come out and make her same-*** relationship public. Dutee Chand(to NDTV) on her family's opposition to same *** relationship: Mann rahega Kisi ke paas, body rahega Kisi ke paas? — vijaita singh (@vijaita) June 10, 2019 Despite facing some serious opposition from her sister, who even threatened to “put her in jail” for being homosexual, Chand showed utmost courage, stood her ground and became the beacon of hope for all the homosexual athletes who wish to go public. 10. Arguably one of the strongest sides in the world, the Indian cricket team witnessed pretty much everything this year. Virat Kohli and his men tasted success on some occasions and suffered heartbreaks on other. But, barring a couple of patchy months in the middle of the year, there is nothing the Indian cricket team or their fans wouldn't be proud of. The Indian team won seven of the eight Tests they played this year, with one of them ending in a draw. There were 19 One-Day International (ODI) wins in 28 matches, and nine Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) victories out of 16 clashes. Kohli-led India also reached the semifinals of the ICC World Cup where they eventually suffered a heart-breaking exit at the hands of New Zealand. While the Men in Blue earned their success by playing as a unit, there are numerous heroes across multiple series who stepped up and aided their side in dire situations. While the Indian batsmen are generally credited with the team's success, this year also saw some brilliant performances from the bowlers who rose to the occasion by pulling off some unbelievable hat-tricks. Here's a look at the Indian bowling sensations who made the ball do the talking by claiming hat-tricks this year: 1. Jasprit Bumrah © Reuters Arguably one of the vital cogs in India's bowling set-up, Jasprit Bumrah might have struggled with his lower back stress in the past few months, but the right-arm seamer has had his fair share of glory this year. The Indian bowling spearhead is currently the no. 1 bowler in the ICC ODI rankings. His bowling genius was in full display on August 31, when he dismissed Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase on consecutive deliveries during the 2nd Test between India and West Indies in Jamaica. In the process, Bumrah became only the third Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. 2. Mohammed Shami © Reuters Another key figure in India's pace battery, Mohammed Shami found himself battling family woes and weight issues at the start of the year. But, overcoming those problems, Shami has fared really well in what has arguably been his sensational comeback to the Indian cricket team. However, it wasn't that easy. Shami was consistently overlooked by the Indian team management at the ICC World Cup earlier this year. But, after patiently watching from the sidelines for three games, Shami made the opportunity count when he was roped in for the group game against Afghanistan. On June 22, the Indian seamer dismissed Mohammad Nabi, Aftab Alam and Mujeeb Ur Rahman on consecutive deliveries to become only the second Indian after Chetan Sharma to take a hat-trick in World Cups. 3. Deepak Chahar © Reuters A classical swing bowler who backs his bowling skills with a clever mind, Deepak Chahar has slowly, but gradually established himself as a viable option for India in the shortest version of the game. But, his most-impactful and brightest moment came on November 10, when he skittled Bangladesh out with a bowling performance to remember. During the 3rd T20I in Nagpur, the 27-year-old helped his side to a 30-run win and became the first Indian bowler to claim a hat-trick in T20Is. He eventually ended his spell (3.2 overs) with impressive figures of 6-7 and went past Ajantha Mendis (6-8 in 2012) to register the best bowling figures in the history of T20Is. 4. Kuldeep Yadav © Reuters For someone who has established himself as one of India's premier spinners, Kuldeep Yadav struggled with consistency as his performance dropped significantly since the Indian Premier League (IPL) which was also in full display during the ICC World Cup earlier this year. But, after enduring what proved to be frustrating 10 months, the Indian chinaman redeemed himself with a fine performance. The 25-year-old delivered a match-winning spell on December 18 to help India level the three-match ODI series 1-1 against West Indies. He dismissed Shai Hope, Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph on consecutive deliveries in the 33rd over of the Windies run-chase to bag his second hat-trick in international cricket. While his figures of 3-52 helped India in registering an emphatic 107-run win, Kuldeep's clinical bowling display saw him joining the likes of Lasith Malinga, Wasim Akram, Chaminda Vaas, Saqlain Mushtaq and Trent Boult in the elite list of bowlers who have picked up more than one hat-tricks in ODI cricket. 11. As kids, our imagination was out of this world and inexplicable. There was nothing that our young minds couldn't dream of and there was nothing we couldn't achieve. As kids we've almost experienced being everything. Pilot? Sure, that cardbaord lying around was our plane. Astronaut? Why not. You just need a dark room and those neon stickers for stars. Doctor? Hell yeah, all you need is a stethoscope and a friend who's willing to be your patient. As we grew up, reality started hitting us and our childhood got buried under the burden of adulthood and bills. But, thanks to these kids, who took us on a nostalgic trip with their innocent yet crazy concert that is now melting hearts of people on social media. Where will this Rock Band playing on Saturday Nightð¤ð ?? This rock band is actually imitating holding a guitar, with the kid in the middle holding a stick and the other two just moving their hands to pretend they have a guitar. While we can't understand what exactly they're singing; people are loving them anyway and are willing to spend all their money to attend their concert. 12. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa. Photo: File Outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on Friday said that a campaign seems to have been launched to defame him and the institution of judiciary. He made the remarks ahead of his farewell speech as chief justice during a full court reference. He also clarified news reports attributed to him regarding the special court's verdict in the high treason case against Gen (retd) Pervez Msharraf. Disputed remarksA special court, formed under the orders of the Supreme Court, had awarded a death penalty to Musharraf for high treason. Soon after Tuesday's short order was issued, news channels had reported that Justice Khosa had spoken about the verdict. Justice Khosa noted that he was accused of supporting the Musharraf verdict in a meeting with journalists when he had never done so. "The truth will prevail," he said in comments released to media before his speech to the full court. 'Did what I think was right'In his speech during the reference, the CJP said he always did what he thought was right and was worth doing and it did not matter to him as to what the reaction or consequences would or could be. "I believe that a judge, besides being just and fair to all, should have a heart of a lion, nerves of steel, wisdom of a sage, expression of a man of letters and approach full of empathy and compassion. These were the ideals that I strived to follow but I do not know how successfully," he said. "I can, however, confidently say, and Allah Almighty be my witness for it, that I always tried to be true to the oath of my office. I gave my hundred percent to the job, tried to perform beyond the call of duty, never raised my voice, spoke mainly through my pen, never delayed a judgment unduly and after giving the best years of my life to this public service I lay down my robes today with a conscience which is clear as crystal. "I, however, in all humility at my command, seek forgiveness from all those in whose cases my judgment might have gone wrong unwittingly and also from those whose feelings I might have hurt unintentionally,” he concluded.
  13. Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth. Photo: FileWhen the detailed verdict, of the high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf, was made public, one paragraph stood out. In it, Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth, who headed the three-member bench, ordered the former army chief’s corpse to be hung in a main square for three days. Politician and lawyers were aghast at the severity of the judge’s words. Others judges on the bench also disagreed with denying a convict dignity after death, as enshrined in the constitution. A few hours later, Pakistan’s law minister held a press conference to excoriate Justice Seth, zooming in on the single para rather than the other 169 pages of the judgement. The minister called the judge ‘mentally unfit’ and ‘incompetent’. He then announced that the government will be filling a reference against the judge to restrain him from discharging any administrative duties. If the government is to press ahead with it, the president will need to send a direction to the Supreme Judicial Council to probe the matter. Read also: 'Ridiculous, barbaric': Paragraph 66 of Musharraf verdict draws outcry What is the Supreme Judicial Council? As per Article 209 of the constitution, the Supreme Judicial Council consists of five members — the chief justice of the supreme court, the next two senior most judges of the apex court and two senior judges from the high courts. The Council may initiate a probe, on the request of the president or on its own, if it suspects that a judge may be incapable of properly preforming his/her duties by reason of physical and mental incapacity. Or, a judge maybe guilty of misconduct. All proceedings are in camera and are not open to public. In either case, if a judge is charged with the above, a reference against him/her will be sent to the president, who will then remove the judge from court. Musharraf treason case: All evidence points to crime of high treason, court says How is ‘misconduct’ and ‘mental incapacity’ defined? The Supreme Judicial Council Procedure of Inquiry 2005, which lays down the rules for the functioning of the Supreme Judicial Council, defines ‘misconduct’ as: conduct unbecoming of a judge, disregarding the code of conduct under Article 209 and someone who is found to be inefficient. Incapacity is described as ‘all forms of physical or mental incapacity which will render the judge incapable of preforming his duties in office.’ How would the case against Justice Seth proceed? If the government plans to make its case against Justice Seth on the basis of him being ‘mentally unfit’, therefore a case of ‘incapacity’, the Council may summon any expert, states the Procedure of Inquiry, to probe the ‘incapacity’ of the judge and order a medical examination by a local or foreign expert. The opinion of the majority judges will prevail. However, the Procedure of Inquiry also clearly states that incase it finds ‘the information or evidence provided to it was false or with the sole intention to malign a judge, or scandalizing the court or to undermine it in any form whatsoever, it may direct action against all those who are found to have provided the said information, or evidence as the case may be.’
  14. When Chadwick Boseman, I mean T'Challa said, "Wakanda forever", looks like the US government took it way too seriously and actually believed in it so much that they made the country their trade partner. Yep, apparently a fictional country that only exists in Marvel's cinematic universe is USA's trade partner. Black Panther was such a great movie, and turns out way too realistic, that it made even USA believe it's real. This is the power of Marvel. This hilarious piece of information was discovered by Francis Tseng and he was kind enough to share it with everyone on Twitter. Wakanda is listed as a US free trade partner on the USDA website?? pic.twitter.com/xcq1OFTIPh — Francis Tseng (@frnsys) December 18, 2019 Turns out USA is trading ducks, donkeys, and chickens, among other things, with a made-up country. Oh no, that's a lot of wasted resources. ??? pic.twitter.com/YwRf7aQj3h — Francis Tseng (@frnsys) December 18, 2019 *Jake Peralta voice* No doubt, no doubt. fwiw, the US would no doubt try to liberalize Wakanda's markets and flood it with cheap subsidized corn — Francis Tseng (@frnsys) December 19, 2019 Does this mean the US has access to vibranium? That definitely is not a good idea. Also, is this proof that Wakanda is real and is actually hidden? Are they keeping their advanced technology to themselves? Is Bucky still chilling with his goats there? Guess we'll never know. Soon after the tweet went viral, Wakanda's name was removed, for obvious reasons, and a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) spokesperson clarified that Wakanda was added to the list by accident during a staff test. There's some sense of humour from their side as well. 15. When it comes to cooking, we all love to experiment. After all, an extra packet of masala in Maggi or an extra spoonful of nutella on waffles don't hurt anyone. But, just like too many cooks spoil the broth, too much creativity with food is dangerous for health and, in some cases, disgusting. While people are still not done fighting over pineapple on pizza, others have gone on to commit major crimes by making food combinations that will make you throw up, without even trying it. One such recipe is this 'santra Maggi' or Maggi with oranges that has left the people on internet fuming with anger. For the first time, a 'comfort food' is making people uncomfortable. 16. With the wedding season, Christmas and New Year around, everyone seems to be on a high. Even onions. While we're high on life and partying, onions are high on price and don't seem to sober down anytime soon. As onions continue to make people cry at the mere thought of buying them, people have found some strange and bizarrely-innovative ways to deal with the price hike. Remember, how recently a couple in Tamil Nadu got a bouquet of onions as a wedding gift? While it was a joke until a few days ago, people have now seriously started considering using onions at weddings and not just in salads. © Reuters Thanks to the skyrocketing prices of onions, a couple in Varanasi ditched flowers and exchanged garlands made of onions and garlic at their wedding. According to news reports, during jaimala, the couple chose to go for garlands made of onions and garlic and apparently wanted to make a symbolic statement and highlight the rising prices of vegetables. This sure is the most expensive wedding of this year. Truly! Kamal Patel of Samajwadi Party told ANI, "Prices of onions are touching the sky from last one month so now people have started considering onion as precious as gold. In this wedding, the bride and groom used the garland of onions and garlic. The prices of onion have risen to Rs 120 per kg." UP: Bride and groom exchange garlands of onion, garlic Read @ANI story | https://t.co/6uQiIbQIe2 pic.twitter.com/9Y5d5Xcmgo — ANI Digital (@ani_digital) December 13, 2019 In fact, that's not it. The guests at the wedding too gifted baskets of onions to the newlyweds. Given that the prices of onions are touching over Rs.120 per kg in some places in India, onions are not any less valuable than gold or diamonds. Let us know your thoughts in this in the comments section below. View the full article

  19. After the super-famous rant from Pyaar Ka Punchnama that put Kartik Aaryan squarely in the middle of the collective consciousness of Indian men, the trailer of Pati, Patni Aur Woh did it again. This time though, it comes with a side of controversy. Notwithstanding that, one thing is for sure and it's that the man knows how to make headlines - be it with his roles, or his fashion game.  He just attended a promotional event for Pati, Patni Aur Woh, and even though his whole outfit was one was for the fashion books, we couldn't but help focus on his boots. Take a look. Even though they look really worn out, dirty, and discoloured in places, they are not. They are in fact a brand new pair, and the worn-out look is a new fashion statement - let's just say, something like ripped jeans but in the footwear department? Kartik is wearing a statement pair of boots from Premiata, whose SS19 collection boasts of this unique aesthetic. Take a close look at the aesthetic here. When it comes to the rest of his outfit, Kartik is wearing a statement jacket from Polo Ralph Lauren, Scotch Official jeans, and shades from Burberry. Clearly, The Vainglorious is on top of their game here. 20. Yes, we're still not done talking about the masterpiece of a movie that is Joker. People deal with it. The movie about the iconic villain has received overwhelmingly positive reactions and Joaquin Phoenix's performance has been praised by one and all. He perfectly embodied Arthur Fleck, everything from how he felt the rejection from everyone the society to his descent onto becoming the Joker. Overall, his performance was nothing but brilliant, even a man suffering from the same pathological laughter condition thought Joaquin Phoenix played it accurately. Even after being released in the same year as a movie like Avengers: Endgame, Joker was also talked about as much as Endgame, if not more. That is honestly a big thing considering how Endgame is literally the highest-grossing movie of all time. Talking about this unbelievable success, Joaquin Phoenix opened up about what he thought was the best thing to come out of Joker. He said, "It's not the box office but the reception that's been vindicating. It's the fact that I get emails from people telling me that the movie made them look at their sister who suffers from schizophrenia in a different light." It's making people more empathetic, now that's truly a victory. He went on, "Ultimately, the movie is about the power of kindness and the lack of empathy in the world and the audience seems to have picked up on that. It's amazing that a movie that was supposed to inspire, as they put it, mass mayhem really has just inspired a bunch of people dancing down staircases. I think that speaks more to our times than anything." He summed it up better than anyone else could. Everyone was concerned about how Joker was going to make an army of incels start causing chaos, but nope, it's just people dancing on a staircase in a red suit. "The movie is about the power of kindness and the lack of empathy in the world" - I feel like that's actually a great way to put it. We can perfectly see how unempathetic Gotham was throughout the movie, especially towards Arthur who didn't get the help the needed to deal with his mental issues, but ultimately, got brutally beaten up all the time for something he couldn't control. The audience understood the message, they understood how everything actually causes Arthur to become the Joker and even if they did empathise with him, they could separate his violent actions from that. 21. Bollywood celebs are major sneakerheads - this should not come as a surprise to anyone who follows them on Instagram. From Someone like Shahid Kapoor's futuristic sneakers from Dolce & Gabbana, and his really off the hook pair of White Salomon's, to Arjun Kapoor's pair of super dirty sneakers from Saint Laurent, we have seen it all. © Instagram/theanisha However, there have been some pairs that not only caught our attention because of how zany and quirky they looked but because they downright made us look at our bank balances and cry ourselves to sleep. © Instagram/arjunkapoor Here are some of the most expensive trainers that celebrities from Bollywood have worn this year: 1. Badshah And His Versace Sneakers © Instagram/badboyshah As far as hypebeasts go, perhaps no one comes close to Badshah. From some really expensive Balenciaga's to some really zany pieces from Dior Hommes, the Tareefan hitmaker seems to know where to shop. © Versace However, the pair that really caught our eye were these Chain Reaction 2 Baroque print sneakers from Versace. These normally retail for just under $1,400 or Rs 1,00,000. Made primarily of leather and rubber, these are one thick chunky-soled sneakers. 2. Shahid Kapoor's Maison Margiela © Viral Bhayani Sneakerheads just have to follow Shahid Kapoor and his stylist, Anisha Jain on Instagram. If not for the latest trends that are in style in a given season, then definitely how wild sneakers can actually get. © Maison Margiela Spotted at an airport, here Shahid is seen wearing a pair of Maison Margiela's that are legit made of duct tapes and hot glue. Thanks to its molten crayons aesthetic, they have a very post-apocalyptic vibe to it. The price of such an avant-garde piece? About $1,700 or Rs 1,22,000. 3. Hardik Pandya In Louis Vuitton © Viral Bhayani It should not come as a surprise that Hardik Pandya is on the list. If a man can, very casually may we add, wear a set of co-ord pyjama set worth over Rs 1.65 lakhs to a family dinner, then you know at a social gathering or an event, he will be flexing his muscle. © Highsnobiety Seen here at the party that Karan Johar organised for Katy Perry, Hardik is seen wearing a pair from Louis Vuitton's SS19 collection, their first summer and spring collection under Virgil Abloh. Launched back in 2018, these were limited edition pieces. From what we have heard, these sneakers retailed for just under $2,000 or roughly Rs 1,45,000. Go figure. 4. Maniesh Paul In His Supreme Sneakers © Viral Bhayani For most people, Maniesh Paul's name on this list may come as a surprise, but those people who actually follow him on Instagram, know just about how big a sneakerhead the man really is. © Highsnobiety He has often been seen in a pair of a rather cool pair of Nike X Supreme Air More Uptempo Supreme "Suptempo" Reds. These sneakers used to retail for as high as $1,260 or just shy of Rs 91,000, back when they were in production. However, since they went out, there have been tons and tons of really good cheap knockoffs for as low as Rs 4, 000. We, however, wouldn't really recommend paying that much for knockoffs. 5. Shahid Kapoor In His Rick Owens © Instagram/theanisha Given how big a sneakerhead Shahid Kapoor actually is, it should not come as a surprise that he is on this list twice. © Rick Owens This time around, he's here for these rather badass high top sneakers from Rick Owens. Called the Black & White Hiking Sneaker Boots, these sneakers retail for just shy of Rs 90,000, and are made from some really exquisite and exotic materials such calfskin leather and specially treated rubber. Clearly, our B-Town celebs love splurging on shoes. It would be really interesting when some of them take us around their closets, don't you think? View the full article

These boots are not just affordable but also have an inspiring message for us. © Viral Bhayani © Timberland Vicky is seen wearing Brooklyn Side Zip Sneaker Boots by Timberland. This pair comes with a premium leather upper and well, the mesh lining is made of recycled plastic bottles. The bottles can be melted and then are spun into fibres. Furthermore, they are weaved into flexible materials that can be used in shoes and clothing as well. © Timberland © Timberland Making a decision to buy shoes from brands that are actively working on solving the biggest global crisis, proves that we need more such brands to take such an initiative. We love how Vicky is sending out such a clear message with his boots here. It's November and right now if you are hunting for a pair of boots to get you through the chills of this season, this pair will be your safe bet. © Viral Bhayani As far as the price of these sneaker boots is concerned, they retail for $150 which sums up to Rs. 10,754 in India. © Viral Bhayani Coming to his outfit, he wore a basic t-shirt with a hoodie and coupled it with crushed cargo pants. The overall ensemble is understated yet has a classic touch to it, thanks to Vicky's boots. Going green in today's time has become more of a necessity and actors wearing environment-friendly styles is hands down inspiration for many. View the full article
  23. 2019 has been Keanu Reeves' year, for sure. Along, with John Wick, he has popped up in so many weird unexpected places and people, obviously, loved it because, well, it's Keanu Reeves and he's breathtaking. Looks like he's spent the year rounding up the Keanu Reeves Cinematic Universe, and his latest stint might be the most unexpected one. Today, when people started watching the SpongeBob movie trailer, they did not expect to see a tumbleweed with Keanu Reeves' face pop up but, oh well. Are you ready? The best part. "Call me Sage. I'm made out of sage and I am a sage, so it works out." How will we ever get over Keanu Ka Ghosla? For years, everyone has been waiting for him to maybe do a superhero movie and join DC or Marvel. Marvel even approaches him on a regular fan for every movie they do, but nope, this guy takes on roles like these. This is it, this why everyone loves him. 24. Would it be too much of wishful thinking to imagine a world wherein our elected political representatives come from a place of awareness and well-earned knowledge? Where logic and science is not defied every step of the way to make political statements, and retorts from opposition leaders doesn't sound like gibberish? Well, perhaps that's the reason why 'utopia' only exists within the pages of a dictionary. Because in the real world, these elected politicians have messed up their basic elementary level education and flushed it down the drain. It constantly makes us question the people we have chosen to lead us to a better future, and just to make our point here is the latest trigger. UP BJP Leader Vineet Agarwal Sharda claimed that the alarming state of air pollution in Delhi-NCR is because Pakistan and China are releasing “poisonous gases to pollute the air in India”. Here's exactly what he said. “Ye jo zehreeli hawa aa rahi hai, zehreeli gas aayi hai ho sakta hai kisi bagal ke mulk ne chhodi ho jo humse ghabraya hua hai. I feel that Pakistan or China are afraid of us. We must seriously consider whether Pakistan has released any poisonous gas.” The staggering absurdity of this statement is not lost on us, and we wonder where Mr Sharda had been during basic Environmental Science classes in school? Unfortunately Sharda isn't the only one to come up with such absurdities. These 7 Indian politicians have also said some absolutely logic-defying things and sent our brains into a coma. 1. Cows Give Oxygen Earlier this year, Uttarakhan Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat went viral on social media when he said, "Cow is the only animal that both inhales and exhales oxygen. This is why we have given it the status of the mother. Breathing problems can be cured by massaging cows, and tuberculosis can be cured by living in proximity with them.” Well, we wonder if CM Rawat has ever heard of Biology? 2. Internet Existed During The Time Of Mahabharat Last year during a public event in Guwahati, Tripura CM Biplab Deb claimed that, "India has been using the internet since ages. In Mahabharata, Sanjay was blind but he narrated what was happening in the battlefield to Dhritarashtra anyway. This was due to internet and technology. Satellite also existed during that period." We simply don't know what to say to that. Berners-Lee won't be happy about this. 3. Desi Cows' Milk Contains Real Gold Recently, Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh claimed that Indian cows' milk contains real gold. During a public meeting he was heard saying, "Our desi cows have a special characteristic. There is gold mixed in their milk and that is why their milk is golden. There is a blood vessel that helps produce gold with the help of sunlight. So, we have to keep those cows. If we drink desi cow milk, we will become healthy and can prevent diseases." What the actual ****? Did you ever set foot in a school as a child sir? Because we certainly doubt it. 4. Electricity In Villages Will Curb Growing Population Back in 2009, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that providing electricity in villages can help curb population growth because watching TV will prevent them from having ***. “In olden days people had no other entertainment but ***, which is why they produced so many children. Today, TV is the biggest source of entertainment. Hence, it is important that there is electricity in every village so that people watch TV till late in the night. By the time the serials are over, they'll be too tired to have *** and will fall asleep. Then they won't get a chance to reproduce. When there is no electricity, there is nothing else to do but produce babies.” *FACEPALM* 5. Virgin Means Unmarried & Pure Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey courted controversy when he tried to defend Patna's Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences' decision to ask applicants to declare their virginity. He had said, “Virgin, as per the dictionary, means an unmarried and pure girl. So all these words are not objectionable.” Which fucked-up dictionary did you refer to? Which law says that a woman who is not a virgin is not “pure” or that virginity is even related to being married? 6. The Sound Of Anklets Affect Boys' Studies Last year, Tamil Nadu's Minister of School Education KA Sengottaiyan said that, "Rings can be banned. They can go missing. Flowers, I am sure, would not be banned," he said, adding, "anklets should be banned. The clinking sound can distract boys. It can affect their studies and concentration." Aisa kaise hota hai? By that logic the girls should also get distracted when boys scratch their beards, no? 7.
