  1. Pankaj Tripathi made his Bollywood debut in the year 2004 with a minor role in the movie Run. He is an actor par excellence who has proved his mettle as a versatile actor in many impactful roles over the years. His turning point in his cinema career was his power-packed performance in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur that showcased his acting prowess. Since then there was no turning back. Adding one more feather to his hat, Tripathi even won the National Film Award – Special Mention for his role in Rajkummar Rao starrer Newton that was India's official entry to the Oscars. Here we have curated a list of some of the lesser-known impactful performances of Pankaj Tripathi over the years that made him the star that he is today. 1. Mithya © pankaj tripathi The 2008 film Mithya featured Ranveer Shorey and Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles. Creating a niche audience for itself, the film had a unique take on the famous Don story (that originally starred Amitabh Bachchan and was recreated with Shah Rukh Khan). Pankaj Tripathi had a small role to play in the film, yet he managed to prove his mettle as an actor par excellence, even while sharing screen space with seasoned actors like Saurabh Shukla, Harsh Chayya, and Vinay Pathak among others. 2. Dharm © Netflix This 2007 film starred Supriya Pathak and Pankaj Tripathi (in a supporting role as Suryaprakash). Dharm garnered a lot of critical appreciation and received a National Film Award for the best feature film on national integration. The movie was helmed by debutant Bhavna Talwar who courageously questioned the true meaning of religion through the film. You can stream it on Netflix. 3. Gurgaon © Netflix Another finest example of Pankaj Tripathi's innate talent is Gurgaon. The film is actually a testament to his talent as an actor, that despite playing characters that appear similar on paper, his performance on screen never feels repetitive. In this film, Pankaj completely internalized the character's emotions and gave a restrained performance as the real estate tycoon whose daughter gets kidnapped. You can watch this too on Netflix. 4. Powder © Yash Raj Films No one can forget his strong performance as the crime lord in popular film Gangs of Wasseypur. However, did you know Pankaj Tripathi played this role for the first ever time in Powder that showcased his acting prowess? As Naved, Tripathi's performance was layered, and he managed to create a villain that people were scared of and yet unwittingly sympathized with. If you haven’t watched it, go watch it on Netflix. 5. Coffee with D © Apex Entertainment This film didn’t do well at the box office. However, it was widely appreciated for the blazing performances of seasoned actors like Sunil Grover, Zakir Hussain, and Pankaj Tripathi among others. The satirical drama, that deals with an ambitious news anchor and his hunt for an 'ideal interviewee', was appreciated for the subject choice but not the treatment. 6. Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa © YouTube Interestingly, Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role, never got a commercial release in India; however, it premiered at the 2013 BFI London Film Festival. The movie also starred Pankaj Tripathi and Ananya Chatterjee, and marked the return of director Buddhadeb Dasgupta to Hindi cinema. The film’s plot is about a detective who decides to investigate his own life and the results that ensue. 7. Maazii © YouTube This thriller drama, starring Sumeet Nijhawan and Mona Wasu in lead roles, and Pankaj Tripathi, Zakir Hussain, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in supporting roles received great critical acclaim but failed to rake in moolah at the box office due to its limited release. Helmed by debutant Jaideep Chopra, the film was lauded for being an exceptionally well-crafted thriller and revolved around a family's struggle to deal with an unexpected tragedy. You can stream this online on YouTube. 8. Global Baba © YouTube This satirical comedy film is based on the spiritual babas that are so unique to Indian culture. The film stars Abhimanyu Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, and Ravi Kishan among others in pivotal roles. According to critics, this film greatly benefited from a dependable starcast 'led by Pankaj Tripathi', although some reviewers did believe that the idea did not translate well into the script. You can stream this on Prime Video. 9. Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal © Zee This lesser-known drama series featured Shiny Doshi, Mohit Sehgal and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles. The show’s plot revolved around the struggles of the lead character against the patriarchal setup of the family she is married in. Even though Pankaj Tripathi played the antagonist, he shined in his role without resorting to melodramatic performance - a feature common in many Hindi soap operas. He absolutely stoodout among other actors in the show. 10. Doosukeltha © YouTube Finally, here we talk about Tripathi’s Telugu film, which is a romantic drama. Titled Doosukeltha, the film was commercially successful and it featured Vishnu Manchu and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles. Pankaj Tripathi played the role of the antagonist Minister Dilleeswara Rao and his nuanced performance was widely appreciated by audiences and critics alike. That is Pankaj Tripathi for you. He was also widely appreciated for his role of a godman in the second season of the popular Netflix series Sacred Games. He will now be next seen in Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl which features Jahnvi Kapoor in the lead role. He plays her father in the upcoming film which is directed and co-written by Sharan Sharma. 2. We’ve been compiling the greatest smartphones from each company from an era when phones used to be bold and experimental with their designs. It was a time when healthy competition resulted in great phones from every company, and one of them was Sony Ericsson. We’ve featured some of these phones in the past for being ., however, the company deserves its own list for having produced some of the greatest phones of all time. This article is all about remembering the legacy of Sony Ericsson and how it gave Nokia tough competition: 1. Countries tend to use different bands in network connectivity in different countries and this was the first phone to support it. It set a precedent for every other phone that has launched ever since, as users could use their phone in any part of the world. The phone did not even have an on-board camera, it was sold separately and could be attached for taking pictures. It was also the first phone to support two-way MMS, use an email client and compose their ringtones. 3. Hrithik Roshan is known as the ‘Greek God’ of the industry and he is also a heartthrob of Bollywood. He has given us some amazing films like Super 30 & War recently but in the past, he has done blunders just like any other Bollywood actor. He is one actor who has surprised us by keeping a well-toned body throughout his journey in Bollywood. Also, his fitness regime has often motivated his fans to become better and make a better physique. He gave his Bollywood debut with Amisha Patel in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and the movie turned out to be a hit. The film left the audience impressed but then, he gave some flops that were total disasters and made the audience think twice before watching his films. Mohenjo Daro The film starred Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead role. The storyline of the film revolved around a dance teacher who marries an immigrant woman so that they could get a green card. But, when they meet again, they fall in love with each other. Mai Prem Ki Diwani Hun The Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan starrer film are still talked about and made fun of as both the actors overacted in the film. The film’s story wasn’t that bad but the movie turned out to be a cringe-fest due to Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan’s overacting in it. Mujhse Dosti Karoge The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji in the lead role. The film’s plot revolves around a bizarre storyline of how Raj falls in love with Tina after she writes him emails every day after he has moved overseas with his family. You can’t be this victim who has a sad story at every given point of time, to tell how you have been terrorised by the bad world of the industry. Leave it." He also added "Who is forcing you on a gunpoint to be in the movies, leave, do something else,” And obviously, after hearing such bitter words for the actress, it became a talking point for the netizens and they are leaving no opportunity in slamming Karan for his insulting remark. Here's what everyone is saying: Look how he is smiling with an attitude after insulting their own industry talents. This is the first& foremost wish of karan to fill the entire industry with only starkids and that only starkids get all appreciation, fame& recognition not only in this industry but also worldwide. — Trishna Sharma (@Trishna82233652) July 18, 2020 WOW, I dont understand why are people applauding?! 6. From calling a rescue operator a “pedo guy” on Twitter, to smoking weed during one of the most-watched podcasts, and naming his child a seemingly random combination of characters, Elon Musk surely knows how to stay in the news. However, if there is one celebrity billionaire who is actually, at the face of it, seemingly working for the betterment of human lives, it is Elon Musk. © Reuters We have come to recognise him as that eccentric billionaire who has successfully privatised space travel and is making us rethink cars and personal automobiles, thanks to Tesla. Some of us, who have followed the man know him since his days at X.com or what came to be known as PayPal. What most of us don't know, is how he came to be the billionaire that he is. © Reuters Well, technically, we know how he earned his billions; what most of us don't know, is how exactly he earned his first billion dollars, the milestone that is the hardest to crack into. The thing is, once you have your first billion, it becomes relatively easy to expand your fortune - most billionaires have said so in a number of interviews. What one really needs to be careful about, is how they invest their money, and that they do not squander it away on pointless things. So how did Elon Musk manage to do it? Making the first billion for him was indeed difficult, as compared to the rest of his $54 Billion. © Reuters 1. Starting Out With Odd Jobs © Reddit/r/muskclan Musk got his first paycheck for $500 when at the age of 10, he developed a computer game. When as a teen, he moved to Canada from South Africa, is where he really started working. Before enrolling in college education, he worked as a lumberjack and would cut trees for a lumber company. During this time, he would also work a number of odd and hazardous jobs that would be paying high, like cleaning out the rooms where the logs were disinfected and cleaned, just because no one was willing to do it. Imagine a guy with degrees in Economics and Physics doing such odd jobs, today. 2. Establishing His First Company © Reddit/r/muskclan Borrowing some money from his dad, Elon and his brother Kimbal, during the Dot Com boom, started a company called Zip2, a company that provided real-time maps to media outlets. This was one of the first rudimentary GPS systems that was easily accessible for the common public. This company was bought by Compaq for about $310 Million, of which, musk got about $22 Million. The brothers went on to open up X.com the world's first digital payment and online bank that allowed international transactions. X.com bought a software security company called Confinity, the real founders of PayPal. Soon, the venture was renamed as PayPal. 3. Selling PayPal © Reddit/r/muskclan Contrary to popular belief, Elon Musk did not become a billionaire when e-Bay bought PayPal. All Musk earned from that venture was $180 Million. E-Bay made that acquisition for $1.5 Billion, but because there were a lot of investors, and partners in X.com, Elon got just over 10-12 per cent of the deal. 4. Establishing SpaceX © Reuters With the proceeds he got from the sale of PayPal, Musk started his 3rd company, SpaceX or Space Exploration Technologies. Within 6 years, it was regularly getting contracts from NASA to deliver cargo to the International Space Station. During this time, NASA also outsourced the development of some major projects to SpaceX. This is the business venture that vastly contributed to Musk's personal wealth. 5. Establishing Tesla Incorporated © Reuters Musk was always interested in the physics of energy, and had even gotten into Stanford University's doctoral program before he started his first company. After establishing SpaceX, Musk founded Tesla. Although we know Tesla today as one of the most valuable automobile companies in the world, automotive is just one of the many aspects of the company. There was a time when a majority of the company's cash flow came from providing plans and components for solar power plants and high volume electricity storages that were sustainable in nature. It was Tesla's energy division, which was earlier called SolarCity before it was acquired by him, that really earned Musk his first Billion. © Reuters Tesla won a number of government contracts, especially outside the USA regarding his energy storage solutions. We're talking about massive storage systems, ones that could power entire cities for days without end. From here on out, Musk went completely bonkers - he founded The Boring Company, which shares, invested more into his Hyperloop project, and invested in his AI company. View the full article

  8. Remember Kai Po Che!? Of course, you do, if you are a fan of Bollywood. There is very little doubt that Kai Po Che is one of the finest films that were made in the last decade. Apart from a great story, the film also gave us three very promising actors who had the potential to do great things. One of those actors is Amit Sadh. © Viral Bhayani Although Amit Sadh made his debut in 2010, with Phoonkh 2, and gave a stunning performance in Kai Po Che! and Guddu Rangeela, it was only after appearing with Salman Khan in Sultan, did people actually started noticing him as a force to be reckoned with. This just goes on to show how we as an audience have been. © Amazon Prime Video There is no doubt, that Amit Sadh is one of the most reliable actors Bollywood has, if it is pure acting capabilities one is looking for. People with Amitâs talent and tenacity, often make it big and establish themselves in the industry, even if it takes some time. However, life hasnât always been that easy for Amit. © IMDb As heâs preparing himself for the launch of his next venture, Shakuntala Devi, we look at a few incidents from his struggle story, and how he overcame several hindrances to become an actor that one simply cannot afford to ignore. Washed Dishes & Worked As A Security Guard © IMDb Much before he made his television debut, Amit Sadh worked as a security guard. There was also a point of time when he used to wash utensils and dishes at peopleâs homes to make ends meet. The actor says he has been seeing a tough time since from a very young age and is now almost immune to anything that life has to throw at him. Lived on the footpath © UTV Motion Pictures Immediately after moving to Mumbai, Amit Sadh found it really difficult to find any work that would allow him to sustain. This was the time that he started taking up odd jobs. Things were so bad that at one point in time, that he was homeless and had to live on the footpath because he had nowhere else to go. Started Off In Television Before Moving To Films © Twitter/TheAmitSadh Amit Sadh too started off acting in a television soap opera called Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar, which lasted for 105 episodes. For an Indian television show, thatâs a really short life. Following that, Amit acted in a number of shows, from 2002, till 2007. During this time, he also participated in the first season of Nach Baliye, Bigg Boss, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. Had No Work After Kai Po Che! © UTV Motion Pictures After making his Bollywood debut in 2010, Amit again found himself with his back against the wall. In Phoonk 2 he had a minor character which almost went unnoticed. He eventually landed Kai Po Che! Which earned him, along with his co-stars, Sushant Singh Rajput, & Rajkummar Rao, great reviews. The film worked wonderfully, commercially as well. Things started to look good for the three lads, especially Amit. However, much to his surprise, people simply did not offer him any films, or any roles for that matter. People Deliberately Refused To Offer Him Films © Yash Raj Films Things for some surprising reason were so bad, that people went out of their way to not offer him roles. In an interview, Amit said, âI will be honest, and I have no shame in saying that after Kai Po Che!, I did not get chances. Some people didnât understand what to give me, and some people went out of the way to not give me work. Now they call me and apologise, but there have been people who said, âWe didnât like you then, but we like you now.ââ Making It Big © UTV Motion Pictures Fortunately for Amit, things started taking a positive turn after he appeared alongside Salman Khan in Sultan. Ever since that film, he has been a part of some really fine films, that exceptionally well at the box office, and were critically acclaimed. These films include the likes of Sarkar 3, Gold, Akira and Super 30. He has also carved a space for himself thanks to his OTT ventures like Breathe. Now, heâs gearing up for his next film, Shakuntala Devi, where Vidya Balan plays the lead Hereâs wishing him good luck, and some wonderful films ahead. View the full article
  9. Bollywood is known to have deep connections and influence, as far as the fashion industry is concerned. When these celebrities ace a particular style, it instantly becomes a sartorial statement that also inspires us to experiment. But in some cases, even these celebrities have made fashion blunders which honestly didn't go unnoticed. From wearing satin shirts to showing off overly long pants, here's a look at all the real gaffes of these celebrities. 1. Shahid Kapoor In Kismat Konnection © Youtube/Rahul Arora Kismat Konnection failed at the box office for multiple reasons but one of them was definitely the costumes of this film, mainly the song Move Your Body Now. Shahid wore a satin grey shirt teamed over satin pants and three satin ties. We have no explanation either. 2. Aamir Khan In Secret Superstar © Youtube/Bollywoodfolks Aamir Khan's brilliant acting skills in Secret Superstar made it a massive success. But that aside, one can't fail to look at Aamir's outfits in the movie dressed in tight fitted jeans, emblazoned with blingy patches on his T-shirts or sweatshirts. Even though it was meant to be a character trait, it can easily be labelled as a cringe-worthy fare. Add to that, his heavily gelled hair with blonde-coloured spikes. 3. Dil Dance Maare - Tashan © YRF Films Tashan, despite being a multi-starrer movie, failed massively at the box office. Even though the songs of this movie were able to make an impact on the audience, a quick scroll through their looks in the song, and you would notice the worst outfit pairing and disastrous colour combinations. Moreover, the accessories used in this song were just unnecessary and over the top. Quirky fashion, gone too far? We reckon. 4. Honey Singh In The Xpose © Youtube/Bollywoodmasala Honey Singh did wonders in so many of his songs, but wait till until you watch Xpose. His marvellous looks in this film. where he is seen emulating Pran, is as hilarious as it can get. We don't even want to get started on Himesh Reshammiya's looks for this movie! 5. Salman Khan In Judwaa and Tere Naam © MD Productions Salman Khan has made us cringe, not just in one but many movies. Remember, Judwa when he wore a cropped Ganji with leather pants and a golden belt? Yeah, we feel your pain too. Then comes Tere Naam, where his greasy hair with middle parting made us want to bang our own heads. 6. Akshay Kumar In Kambakkht Ishq © Pinterest/Gia Even the Khiladi of Bollywood has proudly shown us some of the worst trends in movies, case in point, Kambakkht Ishq, when he wore tight scarves in a lot of scenes, studded jackets, long pants and ugly boots that didn't fit his persona, at all. Also, the idea of wearing neon pants back in the day for Aflatoon and the trend of sheer T-shirts, unless you're doing an avant garde editorial shoot, is just a big NO. 7. Aamir Khan In Rangeela © Youtube/Eros Now Even though the movie name says it all, whether it was absolutely essential for Aamir to dress like a canary, is a topic we continue to debate from time to time. 8. SRK In Duplicate © Dharma Productions In Duplicate, we digested the double role concept, but not the outfits. Dungarees were seen a lot back in time but the weird usage of it with cheetah print, leather dungarees and long necklaces still take our sartorial senses to a dark place. View the full article
  10. Nokia, in the early and late 2000s, made some incredible phones with designs that can be described as iconic. We instantly recognise them even if we saw it twenty years later. However, there were some equally cringe phones launched by Nokia that were just an eyesore. While this is our list of the weirdest phones launched by Nokia in the past, do let us know in the comments whether you liked these phones or have suggestions of your own: 1. Nokia 3650 © Wikipedia Commons The Nokia 3650 wasnât particularly an ergonomic phone neither pretty to look at. It was just weird and the phone was supposed to be a âbusinessâ phone as well. It was also very heavy because of the larger battery and had a very weird rounded bottom. The keypad layout is by far the strangest thing weâve seen by Nokia that resembled a rotary landline phone. Using this phone wasn't particularly fun nor easy which makes this phone a part of this list. 2. Nokia 3200 © Youtube_Adria_n Alco_n Z_urawka Yet another phone that had a strange keypad design and awful colours that didnât really appeal to everyone. The keypad was laid out in a square sequence where two buttons were joined together which wasnât a great idea. Thankfully, you could get rid of the weird colours with an interchangeable cover to make the phone look more presentable 3. Nokia 5510 © Wikipedia Commons The Nokia 5510 was meant for people who loved to text and stay connected with their friends and family. It had a QWERTY keyboard that was present all over the phone which, in turn, made it look extremely ugly to look at it. Ergonomically, the phone did not have any grooves or curves for the fingers to rest and was quite heavy to use. Users would also have to hold the phone flat to their face as the ear speaker was placed at the bottom right of the device when holding in landscape mode. 4. Nokia 7600 © Wikipedia Commons The Nokia 7600 was particularly an odd phone by the Finnish company as it didnât really adhere to any phone design. The teardrop-shaped phone was more like a small box and make it impossible to use with one hand. Calling was always difficult and the keypad layout was very unconventional. Nokia definitely missed the mark with this one. 5. Nokia N-Gage © Wikipedia Commons Although weâre big fans of the second iteration of the phone, the original N-Gage was a disaster because the phone design was not completely thought through. The phone was targeted towards Gameboy Advance users who wanted a gaming phone. The odd thing about this phone was that the phone had to be held on its 90-degree edge to make calls that made everyone look like an idiot in public. This led to Nokia redesigning the phone and launching the N-Gage QD later on. View the full article

  12. Xiaomi is an extremely popular brand in India. However, the company is mostly known for its affordable phones than anything else. But did you know that Xiaomi sells a ton of really cool products overseas? Some of these gadgets are so good that you won't think twice before dropping all your money on them. Here's a quick list of products we wish were available in India. Note: Xiaomi sells a lot of these products under its sub-brand, so you may not see the "Xiaomi" branding on most of these gadgets. Wine Bottle Opener © Xiaomi Xiaomi's automatic wine bottle opener is one of the most sophisticated products we've ever seen. Using it is so convenient that there's almost no excuse to not buy it. All you got to do is align it with bottle, press the open button, and press down forcefully to open the bottle. It's as simple as that. If only it was available in India. It only costs $26.99, which is roughly about Rs 2,100. Smart Rear View Mirror © Xiaomi The rear view mirror is probably one of the most important parts of your car. Imagine having a smart rear view mirror that can make your life a lot easier. The one from Xiaomi sports an 8.8-inch display and it comes with a ton of features like GPS, Full HD video recording, 3G/4G connectivity, lane departure warnings, and more. It's as good as it gets. You can find a good deal for this on the internet and get it for around Rs 15,000. That's not too bad for your car. Mi Key © Xiaomi This is probably one of the most underrated Xiaomi products. The Mi Key, besides acting as a dust plug for your phone's headphone jack, also gives you a new button that can be reassigned to pretty much anything like opening up the camera, launching certain apps, etc. It's a no brainer if your phone has a headphone jack. You can grab it for as low as $1, so it's not going to cost you more than Rs 100. Xiaomi TDS Pen © Xiaomi This particular Xiaomi device would be of great use to people living in areas with sub-standard drinking water. It's a device that can be dipped inside the water to calculate the total dissolved solids in it. Really cool, isn't it? As for the price, you can grab one of these for just around Rs 700, which isn't too bad considering how useful it is. Xiaomi AI Translator © Xiaomi If you are someone who tends to travel a lot, then you'd absolutely love this gadget. It's an AI translator that can translate into 14 different languages in realtime. It also has a super sleek design, so it's easy and convenient to carry as well. You can get a good deal on the internet for this and get one for as low as Rs 5,000. There are a ton of other really cool products from Xiaomi but we couldn't possibly fit all of them here, so be sure to let us know about the ones you know. View the full article
  13. Kim Jong-Un is alive, guys! After weeks of speculation about his health and even rumours about his death, it turns out the dictator of North Korea is happy and healthy and back to work. People were already convinced that he's gone after news of him being hospitalized broke but apparently, it's not that easy to kill evil. He made his first public appearance after weeks yesterday as he attended the opening of a fertilizer factory. Or actually, it's also comparable to Jon Snow as well and I wouldn't be surprised if he has his own Melisandre who brought him back. © HBO There were so many jokes about how Kim Jong Un seems like the person to fake his own death to see how people would react and then take revenge on everyone who were even slightly happy about it. 14. Say what you will, but Chris Hemsworthâs Extraction is one cracker of a film. The internet is genuinely unable to stop talking about the film. The reason why we all love the film and cannot seem to get enough of it, is the sheer manner in which films based on rescue operations make us cling to the edge of our seats - the genre itself is anxiety-inducing. © Netflix That got us thinking, what are some other rescue op films that were as good as Extraction. Well, it turns out there are tons actually. However, we pick our favourite 5. Saving Private Ryan, 1998 You had to see this coming. Saving Private Ryan was not just a cult classic, it was a masterpiece. It had some stellar performances by Edward Burns and Matt Damon, but the highlight of the film, Tom Hanks, just stole the show. And can you really forget that monologue that Damon delivered, once he was rescued? © Smithsonian Although the manner in which Hollywood does World War II films is problematic, in the sense they take a lot of artistic liberties, and often twist the real incident beyond recognition, the cinematography in Saving Private Ryan and direction was powerful and poignant. What else can you expect from someone like Steven Spielberg? Is it any wonder that it is a part of the curriculum in a number of film making institutes all over the world. And do we need to remind you of the furore when it lost out on an Oscar for best film? Dunkirk, 2017 I will be the first one to say that Dunkirk certainly does not represent the abilities that Christopher Nolan has, and what his fans have come to expect of him. However, as a rescue op, and as a war film, it certainly is one of the best. As audiences, you genuinely feel the uncertainty that comes to mind when your survival is at risk, and a gruesome and brutal death is all but certain. © Smithsonian The beauty of the film lies in the performances that Nolan has extracted out of actors like Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan and of all people, Harry Styles. And of course, there is Nolanâs technical skills, which makes the cinematic experience a joy to behold, no matter how gruesome the scene is. Captain Phillips, 2013 Yet another film that captures the paralysing anxiety of rescue operation that can go horribly wrong. Tom Hanks, very effortlessly, conveyed what the real Richard Phillips must have had to go through for those 5-7 days when he was held captive by Somali Pirates. © Reuters Even though pretty much the entire world knew what had actually happened on the Maersk Alabama, the ship that Captain Richard Phillips was commanding, the filmmakers and the actors were able to tie them up in suspense. Truly, the hallmark of a great film. Argo, 12 Now, there were a lot things wrong with the film, especially some of the dialogues that we heard Ben Affleck speak, and again, the misrepresentation of certain key facts that the film was accused of. However, the real-life incident, as well as the film were so fantastically bonkers that we had to include it in the list. © AFP Imagine you are stuck in a hostile country, that wants to kill you, and your government sends in your rescuer who pretends to be film executive from some other country who wants to make a film on a fictional character in the hostile land. Sounds unbelievable, right? Well, watch the film and see how they actually made it quite believable. 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, 2016 And finally, we have 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi or simply 13 Hours. John Krasinski is surely shaping up to be one of the best action stars that we get to see in Hollywood and in 13 Hours you get to see where exactly things started turning for The Office star. © AFP Yes, the film is a little cliched and formulaic when it comes to your rescue/survival op films, but whatever it does within the box, it does it right. There filming and the storytelling is fast-paced and you actually donât get a single slow moment. A definite must-watch, if you ask us. View the full article
  15. Itâs always a sight to see whenever a new teardown video by JerryRigEverything shows up on Youtube, but this time, it is special. The OnePlus 8 Pro launched recently and in case youâre not aware, the smartphone comes with new hardware and features like wireless charging. While the smartphone is yet to launch in India, it is still exciting to see what the phone is actually made of. The OnePlus 8 Pro also comes with an IP 68 rating which means the innards of the phone have to be tightly packed as well. © JerryRigEverything The smartphoneâs teardown shows the OnePlus 8 Pro has a very neat and almost artistic design even from the inside. It shows that OnePlus designed the inside of the smartphone keeping everything in mind and with good planning. The smartphone was not easy to open because the back panel was helped by a strong adhesive, something OnePlus may have decided to use for the IP 68 rating. The phone is rated for water resistance which means the design of the smartphone cannot let any water seep in that can potentially damage the motherboard and other hardware components. There are even rubber caps on the SIM card tray to prevent water from getting in. © JerryRigEverything Once the panel is opened, the first thing you notice is the massive golden copper coils. These coils are used for wireless charging support which was a long-demanded feature by fans. The OnePlus 8 Pro supports 30W wireless charging via their proprietary charging stand. You can also see the massive camera sensors being used in the OnePlus 8 Pro which includes a 48MP main camera sensor in the middle, a 16MP ultra-wide camera and an additional macro sensor. The OnePlus 8 Pro also did well in JerryRigEverythingâs durability test where the smartphone was not easy to bend and did not crack in the process. The smartphoneâs display was also exposed to flame for 30 seconds that left permanent damage but was still usable after the test. If you are interested in seeing the full test for yourself, check out the video below: View the full article

  17. A lot of memes come from cringe content, of course, and that's something India never has a shortage for. We have had some iconic moments of viral videos and it honestly doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Why should only desi people suffer? We have the most over-the-top daily soaps and it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that any reality show produced here is a goldmine for memes. Bigg Boss alone has blessed us with so many gems over the years, and I think we, as a nation, would forever be thankful for that. Sometimes, way less often than I would like, these hilarious videos cross the border and get the international fame it so desperately deserves and I'm so happy about it. So, I thought I would make a list of all the instances where desi videos ended up going viral all over the world. 1. Pooja, what is this behaviour? Hands down, the most iconic Bigg Boss video of all time. People know the entire conversation by heart and honestly, that's legendary status right there. And, the fact that our beloved Pooja changes her accent like four times will never not be hilarious. Please do yourself a favour and watch this video again, you deserve it. © Reddit 2. How can she slap? Another great moment in Indian TV history and I really hope this one lives on forever, it's just that funny. The violence, the drama, the titular slap? It has something for everyone. An iconic video, out and out. © Twitter 3. Gopi bahu washing the laptop Oh no Gopi bahu, what are you doing? I can't believe this level of comedy originated from a freaking saas-bahu serial but oh well! Moreover, I love how it became relevant again recently after people were using this video as joke about cleaning their laptops because of coronavirus. © Pinterest 4. The curtain slap I really find it so hard to believe that this is genuinely a scene that exists and it's not intended to be something hilarious. I mean, just look at her, what the hell is she even doing? Who goes and wraps a curtain around their neck like this? Indian TV peaked with this, tbh. © Youtube 5. That phrase is recognised all over the world and is probably the first thing people relate with India, and I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing. View the full article

  19. Over the years, cricket as a sport has been often labelled as the gentleman's game. But, ask an ardent fan and you'd quickly realise that the lines of being a gentleman in cricket have for long been blurred. We've seen players using expletives against each other. The game has witnessed cases of spot-fixing and ball-tampering. There also have been a rare case of a cricketer almost beating a fan with his bat. While the International Cricket Council (ICC) continues to monitor such situations and has managed to curb such incidents that may bring disrepute to the game, the demon of sledging and verbal abuse, every now and then, somehow manages to crawl back into the sport. Thanks to the ever-increasing levels of competition in cricket, every team including some players resort to verbal exploits to upstage the opponent. The strategy of putting sledging to good effect has been associated with Australia's aggressive brand of cricket for decades, but, today, it is a widely common practice that allows teams to upset the temperament and disrupt the focus of the opponents to gain an upper hand. But apart from sledging, there have also been those occasional and rare moments where teammates, too, have been seen engaging in verbal exchanges on the field. From hurling verbal abuses, pointing fingers at each other, charging in anger to heated exchanges, here's a look at six Indian cricketers who lost their cool at their own team members on the field: Nehra Blasts Dhoni Ashish Nehra is undeniably the name that automatically comes to our mind at the first mention of an Indian cricketer abusing his own teammate. The exploits of a furious Nehra during the 2005 ODI between India and Pakistan might have been almost 15 years old, but the fact that he abused none other than MS Dhoni remains one of the hardest pills to swallow for fans. During the 4th ODI at Ahmedabad, Dhoni, who was fairly new on the international circuit, had done his part with the willow, scoring 64-ball 47 in India's 315-run total. But, during the fourth over of Pakistan's run-chase, Shahid Afridi, who was batting on 10, edged a delivery outside the off-stump and the ball flew past Dhoni who was keeping behind the stumps. The left-arm Indian seamer was clearly miffed with Dhoni's efforts before giving him his piece of mind with some expletives. While Nehra recently rendered his apology claiming he was not proud of his behaviour, the fact that Dhoni went on to become one of the most popular and successful cricketers in the country, further makes this incident unforgettable. Laxman Fuming At Ojha Who would have seen this coming? Throughout his career, VVS laxman was known for his composure and grit that reflected in his invaluable innings more often than not. An orthodox batsman who appeared like a diligent pupil of textbook strokes, Laxman was and is still considered to be a man who can do no wrong, let alone lose his temper and blast a fellow teammate. On the final day of the Mohali Test between India and Australia in 2010, tension was soaring at an all-time high in the frenetic closing stage of the match. The hosts were just six runs away from a memorable win against the then World Champions. But, sadly for India, the team had just one wicket in hand, with Laxman and tail-ender Pragyan Ojha at the crease. Batting despite back troubles, Laxman, who was batting with Suresh Raina as his runner, was India's only hope and knew he needed to tread with caution. Keen on retaining the strike, Laxman drilled the ball to mid-off and called for a single, but Ojha, standing at the non-striker's end, got confused and refused to run. Ojha's antics left Laxman fuming at the other end as he screamed more than a few words at his teammate in absolute rage. Luckily for India, Ojha managed to hold fort at the other end and the hosts eked out a thrilling win from jaws of defeat. Laxman, who remained unbeaten on 73, claimed that he apologised to Ojha for his behaviour, but never disclosed exactly what he said to him. Dhoni 'Abuses' Manish Pandey © Twitter/@BCCI Over the years, MS Dhoni has established himself as one of the most respected and iconic cricketers to have played the gentleman's game. Apart from his skills, Dhoni's calm and composed demeanour has earned him plaudits from fans and pundits alike. Thus, in 2018, in a rare incident when the camera caught Dhoni allegedly abusing Manish Pandey, no one really believed it. The 2nd T20I between India and South Africa saw Dhoni and Pandey stitch a crucial 98-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The final over of the Indian innings saw the stump mic picking up Dhoni having a crack at Pandey, who was standing at the non-striker's end, looking somewhere else. "Oye, Bho***ke, idhar dekh le. Udhar kya dekh raha hai? (Look here. What are you looking at there),â was the initial impression of Dhoni's stump-mic recording. But, cricket fans still remain divided over Dhoni's comments. While some believe he did abuse Pandey, others feel that he said: "Oye, Bhoot**ke, idhar dekh le. Udhar kya dekh raha hai?". Jadeja Riles Up Raina Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja are well-known for their close friendship and mutual respect for each other. The duo had thrived under the leadership of MS Dhoni in Team India and still remain the best of buddies. Thus, the sight of Jadeja and Raina exchanging verbal volleys and bickering in the middle ground in 2013. During the Tri-Series that featured India, Sri Lanka and West Indies in the Caribbean, Dhoni was sidelined during the group stages of the tournament. Amid Dhoni's absence, young Virat Kohli was asked to lead the Indian team during the clash against the Windies. During the West Indies innings, Raina had dropped Sunil Narine on two occasions. But, Jadeja dismissed the left-hander in the 34th over to make up for Raina's errors. After dismissing Narine, Jadeja walked up to Raina and pointed out his mistake. Unhappy with his fielding, Jadeja took it a bit too far by taking a jibe at Raina for losing Team India captaincy to Kohli. "Because you've lost the captaincy, you've also lost interest in fielding?," he reportedly told Raina. The comments left Raina fuming in rage as the duo continued to exchange words until Kohli intervened. "Raina and Jadeja have spoken to the team manager and tendered unconditional apology for their on-field behaviour. They have promised that this type of an act won't be repeated again. Both the cricketers have understood that their conduct is unbecoming of a national team cricketer," a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by TOI in 2013. Harbhajan Provokes Rayudu © Twitter/@IPL Ambati Rayudu and Harbhajan Singh might not have played a lot of games together in the Indian team, but the fact that they played with Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2008 to 2017 and played key roles in their team's three IPL title triumphs hints at the good rapport they share. The duo are still teammates while plying their trade for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But, in 2016, the two cricketers looked far from good mates on the field. During the 2016 season of the IPL, Mumbai Indians were playing against Rising Pune Supergiant when Harbhajan was bowling to Saurabh Tiwary. The left-hander had pulled the off-spinner to the fence where some confusion between Rayudu and Tim Southee saw the ball going past the boundary line for a four. Bhajji was unimpressed by Rayudu's efforts. Harbhajan, who had not conceded a single boundary in his spell till then, was livid as he gestured with his hands to Rayudu and emitted a loud yell evidently in uncharitable language. The verbal volleys of Bhajji provoked Rayudu who charged in from the fence towards the off-spinner as the duo exchanged a few words. Moments later, Bhajji tried to make peace with Rayudu by wrapping his arms around him, but Rayudu was having none of it as he shrugged off the reconciliatory gesture. While Mumbai Indians eventually won the contest on the back of Rohit Sharma's blazing 85, the unusual and surprising on-field spat between Harbhajan and Rayudu left a bit of a sour taste in everyone's mouth. Jadeja Takes On Ishant India's tour of Australia in 2018 will always be remembered for their historic Test series win - their first Down Under. But, during the Perth Test, the only match India lost in the series, Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma found themselves taking on each other in a heated on-field exchange. While there is no clear explanation behind their spat, it is believed that Ishant was apparently unhappy with Jadeja's fielding position. The two cricketers initially exchanged a few words from a distance before getting close while continuing to engage in the animated conversation. âWho knows what theyâre talking about, it does seem very animated, thereâs lots of finger-pointing. Things have obviously got a little bit heated between these two,â Ponting said while commentating for Channel 7. As Australia went on to win the Test by 146 runs, the incident of two Indian cricketers bickering on the field remained the topic of great discussion on social media amongst fans. But, the incident was eventually overshadowed - thanks to Virat Kohli-led India's triumph in the next game that saw them winning the Test series. View the full article
  20. Ever heard of the term âsmall winsâ? Itâs something thatâs extremely relevant in todayâs world and more so in this story. Yeah, I understand the effect this pandemic is having on the world. For most of us, small wins donât exist right now. But, for the few of us who are still hanging on to a little hope or trying to find the bright side of this alarming virus hereâs some good news. A little while ago, people started posting pictures of the Jalandhar skyline. While this might not sound like an alarming fact, whatâs alarming was what we could see in those pictures. © Twitter/@susantananda3 The Dhauladhar mountain range which is around 213 km away from the town was clearly visible on the horizon. Now thatâs something worth writing home about wouldnât you say? Well, no one writes letters anymore so I guess, worth clicking a picture of and sharing on Twitter. Some of these images are truly spectacular. I find it hard to believe they arenât photoshopped. But, donât come for my throat for saying this. We live in a world of fake news. So, Iâm just saying, these might be doctored images. Now, thereâs a huge debate to have about whether we should be celebrating the positive effects of isolation on the environment while there are thousands dying with hundreds of thousands at risk. But, letâs save it for another day, shall we? Itâs been a long and stressful week. Letâs just sit back, relax, and enjoy the fact that, even though weâre in the middle of the biggest catastrophic event most of us will ever experience, weâre healthy, weâre safe and we might just come out of this better people. Am I being insensitive? No! Iâm just trying to make a few people feel a little better. Everyone has different theories about why it happened and more importantly, how far Dhauladhar is from Jalandhar. So, take their opinions with a grain of salt. Even the number Iâve used for this article is based on what Google Maps tells me so, I might be wrong. Still, take out some time and enjoy this beautiful imagery. 21. A pandemic is upon us and the only and most important thing people can do to stop it is just stay at home. It's that simple and it's great to see everyone who's able to stay indoors actually are. It's the bare minimum people can do to stop the spread of coronavirus. While most Indians seem to be following the protocol, there are some extra measures taken to keep people inside their homes. For example, just start re-airing a show that used to keep people glued to their TV screens even without a potentially world-ending event. Yes, because of popular demand, Ramanand Sagar's iconic show Ramayan has started airing on DD National from today, and there's so much nostalgia attached to it that people are over the moon about the recast. © Twitter To paraphrase the message, my dad was just reading aloud - "Back in the day when Ramayan aired, the roads would be empty because everyone was watching the show. Now that the roads are empty, they have started airing Ramayan again." It's like everyone has transported back in time and are once again glued to the TV to catch every episode of the legendary show. Full attendance infront of the TV @ 9am. 22. You ever see someone and just get this irrational urge to slap them? For a good portion of people in this country, that person is Kartik Aaryan. It's not like people seriously hate him, they just find him so annoying that they want to punch him, there's a difference. View the full article
  23. A simple Google search on âbiopicâ would tell you that a biographical film is a dramatic representation of the life of a non-fictional or historical person through a motion picture. Bollywood has a fair share of biopics to its name, be it The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Sarbjit, or more recently, Dangal. © Tips Industries Ltd With more than a few dozen highly successful biopics in its kitty, one would come to think that the Hindi film industry must be getting something right, but alas, how wrong we are to pin our hopes like so. Because turns out, Bollywood has been taking a bit too much of creative liberty in creating these biopics and distorting facts in the process. The exploitation serves the purpose of not only cashing in on the star status of these historical protagonists, but also to feed a gullible, public curiosity with a dash of masala that sells. Here are 5 such instances when Bollywood messed up important facts in biopics and made a fool of us: 1. Mangal Pandey: The Rising © Yash Raj Films The visual personification of Mangal Pandey by Aamir Khan in the 2005 biopic was historically inaccurate. If historical facts are to be believed, Aamirâs long, ishevelled hair look goes against the code of conduct for anyone serving in the military in the East India Company, that prescribed a specific uniform and prohibited religious markings. © Yash Raj Films Additionally, unlike what the film shows, history has no mention of Mangal Pandey being romantically involved and later marrying a prostitute named Heera. These are reportedly the directorâs creation. 2. Azhar © Balaji Motion Pictures Based on the life of one of Indiaâs most iconic cricketing figures from the 80s and 90s, the film showed Emraan Hashmi trying hard to whitewash Mohammad Azharuddinâs ruined public image. The film presented Azharuddin as a victim of circumstances, though the explosive CBI report would tell you otherwise. Even though Azharuddin eventually confesses to having been involved in major match-fixing incidents during his tenure, the film tries to evoke empathy from the audience 3. Sanju © Rajkumar Hirani Film This movie was yet another attempt of the creators trying to resurrect the lost glory of a fallen angel. The film tries to redeem Sanjay Dutt of every allegation and controversy that surrounded this star kid. Apart from presenting Sanjay Dutt as a victim of circumstances, he is also shown to be a devoted son who did a lot of things for his familyâs good. © Rajkumar Hirani Films For instance, when he was accused of carrying arms, he said it was to protect his family who was receiving threats due to his father Sunil Duttâs political journey. Or when the film tries to put the onus of Sanjay getting into drugs on a fictional character played by Jim Sarbh, however, during a candid interview Sanjay not only confessed to loving guns, but also that he started getting high as a boarding school student at The Lawrence School, Sanawar. 4. The Accidental Prime Minister © Rudra Productions Based on the memoir penned by Sanjaya Baru, who was former Indian PM Manmohan Singhâs chief media advisor and spokesperson from 2004 to 2008. One of the biggest follies the film commits is to misrepresent the associations between Baru and senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel. While the film shows Patel to be constantly plotting against Baru, the memoir states nothing of the sort. © Rudra Productions Instead, the only mention of Ahmed Patel in the memoir comes in Pg. 72 where Baru says, âI had very little to do with Patel and during the few times we interacted, he was always warm and friendly. I had only two substantive conversations with him during my time at the PMO.â 5. PM Narendra Modi © Legend Global Studio One of 2019âs most controversial releases, this one had many flaws of its own. The film claims PM Modiâs sudden rise to fame to be the reason behind the Indian Emergency in 1975, though we know that isnât just why. Additionally, it is also shown that PM Modi unfurled the national flag standing in the line of fire, whereas in reality, it was Murli Manohar Joshi who did so at Lal Chowk. © Twitter View the full article
