  1. Ranveer Singh can literally turn anything into an eyebrow-raising outfit. The fact that the inspiration for his outfits comes from everything around him is what makes his outfits out of ordinary. Case in point: pulling off an outfit inspired from the film Joker. Who would have thought that a brilliant film like Joker could be an inspiration for Ranveer Singh but not just in terms of acting? © Viral Bhayani Now, for a recent event, he wore a head to toe Gucci outfit with vibrant red three-piece with a coordinated green tie, he finished the look with a matching red beret, a pair of shades and derbys, all by Gucci. However, the whole vibe of the outfit matched Joker's aesthetic from the scene wherein he had lost all morality in the film. The outfit references to this scene in particular wherein the Joker kills his coworker and struts across the streets of Gotham. © Joker Ranveer Singh's look clearly holds a striking resemblance to this look. This is not the first time Ranveer Singh has worn something bizarre. He usually chooses pieces to curate an outfit that is outlandish. In fact, he's the trendsetter when it comes to bizarre, over-the-top fashion and has made these trends acceptable here which is a commendable achievement.
  2. There must be a lot of out-of-the-box' ideas to prevent students from cheating during exams, but this particular 'out-of-the-box' idea is putting kids in a box, literally. During an exam at Bhagat Pre-University College in Haveri, Karnataka, someone had the genius idea of making all the students wear cardboard boxes on their heads. Yep, legit boxes on everyone's head with just a cutout in the front so they could just see their papers. It already sounds so hilarious - and just a lil bit sad - but what actually makes it better is that there are pictures of it. It's the best thing anyone will see today, I can guarantee it. Karnataka: Students were made to wear cardboard boxes during an exam at Bhagat Pre-University College in Haveri, reportedly to stop them from cheating. (16.10.2019) pic.twitter.com/lPR5z0dsUs — ANI (@ANI) October 18, 2019 Apparently, during last year's exams, students didn't stop cheating even after repeated warnings, so this was the solution that the college came up with. I mean, there could have been more steps before resorting to literally putting people in boxes, but oh well. The incident, obviously, went somewhat viral and the pictures are gold, tbh. There are so many hilarious reactions and at least the students' suffering wasn't in vain. Legendary behaviour, truly. Deputy Director of Public Instruction Department, SS Piraje said, "We have clearly told the management to give a written explanation and if this kind of incident is repeated in the future, the department will cancel the license of the school." Well, I guess this was the first and last time something like this would happen.
  3. One of the biggest accolades in the world, The Nobel Prize is given to those who excel in the field of academics, from around the world. It's held annually and the work that's recognised, stands out when someone receives this incredible honour. The awards are given to people for academic excellence in the fields of chemistry, physics, literature, physiology, medicine and promoting and building peace. The award was first designed around the will of the first Swedish chemist, engineer and industrialist Alfred Nobel, when the first 5 Nobel prizes were awarded in 1885. The awards are given by the Swedish and Norwegian institutions in recognition of academic, cultural, or scientific advances. © nobelprize.org That's all you really need to know about the origin of the Nobel prize and some other facts related to it. What we really want to tell you is that Indians haven't been far off in receiving such a prestigious honour. Indians, both from India and around the globe, have received the Nobel Prize in various fields, with one winning it quite recently actually, in the field of economics. We thought we should list down these 9 Indian geniuses, even though most of them don't reside here, but still make the country proud of the kind of talent we possess, globally: (1) Rabindranath Tagore The first Indian who won a Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. © nobelprize.org Celebrated artist and poet. Tagore won the Nobel prize for “his profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse”. Also famously known as Gurudev, Tagore was one of the greatest literary figures India has ever had. He even composed the National Anthem of India and Bangladesh. Even today, his stories, poetry and his art are cherished amongst the cultural community of India. (2) C.V. Raman The Indian who won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1930. © Finacial Express Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman, won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1930 “for his work on the scattering of light and for the discovery of the effect named after him”. He is best known for discovering the 'Raman Effect', which was a path-breaking milestone in the field of physics. (3) Mother Teresa Indian citizen who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. © BCCL Even though she wasn't born here, Mother Teresa moved to India at the age of 19 and made it her home. She spent the rest of her life here as a Roman Catholic missionary, helping the poorest of the poor. Her humanitarian work led her to establish the congregation of the Missionaries For Charity, which, in turn, recognised her with a Nobel Peace Prize. (4) Amartya Sen Indian citizen who won the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 1998. © nobelprize.org Dr Amartya Sen was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences “for his contributions to welfare economics”. Having studied economics, Dr Sen went on to teach it in many reputed institutions in the U.S. and the United Kingdom. His research papers on welfare economics and social justice are studied even today and surely did get him a lot of awards, including the Nobel, of course. (5) Kailash Satyarthi Indian citizen who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. © nobelprize.org Kailash Satyarthi from Madhya Pradesh was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for his “struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education”. The man has spent his life battling corporate for using child labour and has done it away from the spotlight all this while. He also put the child's right to education on the map, in India, through his work with UNESCO. Towards the end, he earned a Nobel Peace Prize and shared the same with Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan. (6) Har Gobind Khorana Indian citizen who won a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1968. © BCCL Har Gobind Khorana an Indian-born American biochemist was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1968 along with Marshall W. Nirenberg and Robert W. Holley “for their interpretation of the genetic code and its function in protein synthesis”. (7) Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar Indian citizen who won a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1983. © nobelprize.org Sir Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar was born in India but he eventually moved to the United States and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics "for his theoretical studies of the physical processes of importance to the structure and evolution of the stars”. He happened to be the nephew of another Nobel Laureate C.V. Raman, so we guess it quite literally ran in the family! His discoveries led to the establishment of the physical processes involved in the evolution of stars. (8) Venkatraman Ramakrishnan Indian who won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009. © nobelprize.org Indian-born American-British biologist, Venkatraman Ramakrishnan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry “for studies of the structure and function of the ribosome”, along with Thomas A. Steitz and Ada E. Yonath. (9) Abhijeet Banerjee He won the Nobel Prize this year, 2019 in Economics. © BCCL The India-origin American based economist did us proud this year by winning a Nobel Prize in economics for fighting poverty. Abhijit won the Prize for his “experimental approach to alleviating poverty,” and the world can't help but take note of this 58-year-old development economist, who has been a trailblazer when it comes to meeting poverty head-on, and helping the needy rise above it. So, there you go. In case you set foot into the outside world, you will have something to show off and take pride in, definitely. From literature to medicine, to economics and even peace, India has shown the world that we are here to fight the good fight, by slowly progressing toward a suitably developed global impact.
  4. Kartik Aaryan has made it pretty clear that his style statement usually revolves around relaxed outfits, unless it's a red carpet event or his movie promotions. But this time, his style took a new turn that made our jaws drop. Currently, he is gearing up with Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday for the release of their upcoming movie Pati, Patni Aur Woh. The movie promotions are in full swing and the trio walked the ramp on 16th October for Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, in their reel characters from the movie. Kartik made an avant-garde statement in an embroidered kurta but his pearl juttis are what grabbed eye-balls. Exhibit A: © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Kartik usually gets papped in his favourite Hummel sneakers but this time, he shined bright with pearl juttis instead. With festivities around the corner, if you are on a hunt for a pair of shoes to go well with your traditional ensemble, give these juttis a good look. The actor's recent avatar added an oomph factor to the ramp. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Kartik was at his ethnic best in an embroidered white kurta paired with churidaar and layered with a pink sherwani designed in fine mirror work, while Bhumi and Ananya looked surreal in beautiful lehengas. © Viral Bhayani The first poster of Pati, Patni Aur Woh is out now and we can't wait to see this trio together. The film is a remake of the same name where the story revolves around a couple and how the Pati gets involved with his secretary. The movie is all set for release on 6th December 2019. 5. There's a reason why a dog is a man or a woman's best friend. They're the actual healers we need in our lives and if times are not so good for us, they know how to make us feel better for sure. Don't believe me? Well, Hank the dog certainly did something extraordinary for his owner and the Twitter user recently shared his story with the internet , and it truly melted our hearts. This story surely teaches us to be patient with our pets, as they might do things to annoy us but will also do heroic things to compensate for their bad behaviour. So, we really shouldn't be too quick to punish them. © Twitter So, if you have a dog and he or she is up to some mischief, always resign to the fact that they will act intelligently when they really need to, if they have to save your life. Dogs are quite clairvoyant like that. Ever noticed, if you're sad or low, they usually come sit next to you, and you feel better? That's because they figure you're sad and they come to cheer you up, kinda like saving your life, isn't it? Well, Hank actually did save his owners' life, even after getting a scolding. So, if you have a dog, give them all the love they deserve and yes, make sure you have some fire-fighting apparatus at home, always. People online really loved the story and vouched for more show-chewing days for Hank!
  6. If you are to name the best fictional womaniser of all the time, Joey 'Casanova' Tribbiani would be among the top three, to say the least. Just a “how you doin?” from his side and there was a sure shot “yes” from the other side. It (almost) never failed. Let's try to decode the character of Joey and see some of his qualities and flaws. • Great Friend Joey was probably the best when it came to maintaining a selfless friendship. He tried to tolerate Janice for the sake of Chandler, the woman he absolutely despised. He offered Rachel a place to stay, knowing that her baby would turn his dating life upside down. He let Chandler keep the foosball table when he moved out. How he kept Monica and Chandler's relationship a secret and often took the blame for their misdeeds (the *** tape). He was a true friend, the best one can have! • Dumb If Joey completely lacked something, it was intellect. Who can forget when he got Chandler and himself robbed? Or the time when he bought an encyclopaedia so he could also be a part of the intellectual discussions which his friends had. He had his fair share of dumb moments, which he always accepted unapologetically. • Womaniser Call it quality or a flaw, but Joey sure was one heck of a womaniser. Every woman he met, he saw as a potential conquest. He picked women with such ease that could put even Ranbir Kapoor to shame. Scoring dates is an art, and Joey sure was the master of it. Though he took it too far and ended up without a stable relationship, nevertheless, he was the man! • Wouldn't Share Food Have a drinking game with this dialogue and you would be hammered for the night. Joey never believed in sharing food. Regardless of who wanted it or how much hungry the other person might be, he wouldn't budge. Not just this, but he wouldn't mind eating off other people's plate (the one with the date and the dessert). Not just food, Joey didn't even share his soft toy with Emma, the girl he loved very dearly. Clearly, he wasn't the sharing kind. • Unapologetically Secure Joey was always himself, and we never saw him changing for anyone or trying to be someone who he wasn't. Whether it was about trying a ladies' bag or admitting that Tribbianis aren't the smartest, he did it without any insecurity. He accepted the fact that he loved food and won't mind if he becomes fat. Whatever he did in his life, he was unapologetically secure about it. Joey Tribbiani is someone every guy wishes to be. It has been more than two decades since the show aired but he still is one of our favourite characters.
  7. The world of entertainment and sports have found their way to each other far too often to ignore. From Bollywood beauties getting married to sportsmen or wards of sportsmen getting into the entertainment industry, their fates have been intertwined since time immemorial. But, did you know that there are a few celebs who could have been professional cricket players but chose to be a part of Bollywood instead? Read about 5 such Bollywood stars here: 1. Suniel Shetty © Instagram A self-confessed sports lover, Suniel Shetty actively played cricket before switching gears to acting. Suniel Shetty has even teamed up with Zaheer Khan to launch India's first nationwide cricket league for amateur cricketers named Ferit Cricket Bash (FCB). 2. Angad Bedi © Instagram Son of renowned cricketer Bishen Singh Bedi, Angad has played for Delhi in Under-16 and Under-19 level. However, Angad was always more interested in acting. 3. Saqib Saleem © Instagram Saqib was an ardent follower of cricket and even represented his state Jammu and Kashmir while he played! The actor even shared that he used to play cricket with Virat Kohli during his childhood. 4. Aparshakti Khurrana © Instagram We have heard Aparshakti confess that he wanted to be a cricketer for the longest time, and what's more, the actor even captained the Haryana Under-19 cricket team at one point in time. 5. Harrdy Sandhu © Instagram Punjabi rockstar Harddy Sandhu began his career as a cricketer but an elbow injury broke his cricket dreams. The singer-cum-actor has played with the top cricketers of India, including Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara.
  8. PUBG Mobile hype is causing some serious trouble in countries like India where a lot of people are currently dealing with gaming addiction. While some people have been arrested, others have even lost their lives or ended up with broken marriages. But PUBG Mobile developer Tencent Games, on the other hand, is enjoying by cashing in on all the hype. According to a new report from intelligence firm, Sensor Tower, Tencent has crossed $4.8 million a day in May. Yes, the company literally made $4.8 million a day i.e. over Rs. 33 Crores a day from PUBG Mobile and it's clone called Game For Peace that it launched in China. © PUBG Mobile With that, Tencent is now said to own the world's highest grossing mobile app and the highest grossing mobile game, which is just insane. Do make a note that these are just estimates, but even the exact value is expected to be somewhere in the same ballpark. The total amount is said to be 126-percent higher quarter on quarter in comparison to the $65 million that PUBG Mobile grossed in April 2019. It's also worth pointing out that the estimate excludes Android revenue from China. Of the total revenue earned by Tencent from PUBG Mobile and the new Game for Peace, over $101 million came from Apple's App Store and $45.3 million from Google's Play Store. The revenue from both games, when put together, is about 17-percent more than $125 million made by Honor of Kings, which is yet another smash hit title published by Tencent. © PUBG Mobile Sensor Tower's Head of Mobile Insights, Randy Nelson, who shared all this information, said, “App Store and Google Play users worldwide spent an average of $4.8 million per day last month between both PUBG Mobile versions. The chief rival to both of Tencent's titles, Fortnite from Epic Games, had its best month so far in 2019 on iOS, but its total player spending of $43.3 million was only about 43 percent of Game for Peace and PUBG Mobile's combined take for May.”
  9. We were invited by Realme to check out how their smartphones are made in the OPPO facility in Shenzhen, China. Realme, a sub-brand of OPPO, is manufactured with utmost scrutiny and standards just like their own branded smartphones. In fact, OPPO is amongst the top five manufacturers in the world and runs world-class facilities where they manufacture and test smartphones before it hits the market for customers. We got to see everything in the production line and how smartphones are made from the ground up. Right from how PCBs (Printed Circuit Board) are made to the final device that gets drop tested for durability. So here's how Realme smartphones are made in OPPO's facility in Shenzhen: Realme Manufacturing © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Be it any smartphone, you first build a PCB which is later built into the motherboard of a smartphone. The PCB is probably the most important component of a smartphone which houses all the essential components such as processor, storage modules, RAM and everything else you can think. Once the PCB is manufactured, it is inspected and surveyed up to OPPO and Realme's standards. This entire process is called SMT manufacturing or surface-mount technology. The entire production line is automated with robots but it is closely monitored by humans. Each line is capable of churning out 10,000 of PCBs in a single day. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla There are around 71 lines and takes about 1 hour for the entire process to be completed. The process involves various steps such as having the operating system installed on the ROM to having each and every single component attached to the PCB before it moves on for the testing and quality control phase. Testing and Quality Assurance © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Once the assembly of the smartphone is done, devices need to be tested to make sure it is ready to hit the streets. Much like every other manufacturer, smartphones are selected at random for testing and quality assurance. Roughly 10 percent of the total output (each batch) is tested to make sure the smartphone does not have any problems. If the smartphone has issues in the PCB or a physical defect, the company then inspects the entire batch to look for similar issues and find the root of the problem. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Once the smartphone is cleared from this phase, it then has to go through rigorous physical tests such as drop tests, tests in different environments and other durability tests. One such test was the test of the smartphone being rubbed off against a swatch of denim. The smartphone is rubbed off to simulate daily usage patterns of users when they slide a smartphone in their pockets. This test basically tries to determine the scratch resistance of the smartphone. Similarly, many sample devices are repeatedly dropped from different heights and at different angles. For example, we witnessed the Realme 3 Pro was being tested for durability when dropped on the edges, back and front of the smartphone. Even the buttons are tested at a force of 1KG. Others tests included the durability of the USB port where it was suspended on a pendulum type device and was subjected to repeated twists and turns. These tests are carried out for one simple reason, to simulate real-life usage of customers and see the after effects. Every single piece of data and results are stored that are later analysed to improve the device. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla When it comes to near real-life drop tests, the smartphone is dropped from waist height and it isn't one drop either. The smartphone is dropped approximately 2800 times and each drop is inspected by a worker. These drops are again subjected to utmost scrutiny as these drops are to simulate daily customer usage. A tumbler machine is also used where each test device is tumbled for about 150 times to see the after effects for scuffs and physical damage. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Since Realme phones are sold in different regions, the smartphone has to be tested for environmental resilience. OPPO has numerous temperature controlled cabinets that simulate different conditions such as humidity levels and temperature levels. Each smartphone is tested in environments of 55 degree Celsius to -15 degrees Celsius. It is important to test devices in different environments as the temperate of your environment changes, so does the temperature of your smartphone. Realme and OPPO have to make sure that their devices don't get too warm as it can lead to dangerous situations. One Final Check © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Once the entire inspection and testing procedures are completed, each phone is checked by workers before it can be shipped to stores These tests include checking the phone for various components such as display functionality and quality, software checks, camera tests and other basic tests. This is the final crucial phase of testing and quality assurance that makes sure that the end user does not get a faulty device. Final Thoughts Manufacturing smartphones is not an easy task and it is hard to imagine the amount of work that goes into making a phone. It was quite exciting to see the complicated process of manufacturing and the testing phase. It was an up close and personal experience where we got to know what goes into making a smartphone before they are shipped to your home, or even to a store.
  10. It was an eventful evening yesterday as millions of households across India switched on their TV sets to watch the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony which every news channel was carrying for its viewers. India met its new set of cabinet ministers under Modi government 2.0, as they were called onto the stage to take their oaths. However, there was a sudden shift in energies when this frail-looking old man with a flowing beard and wind swept hair made his way to the stage, wearing a pair of plain white kurta pajama and greeted the President before taking his place behind the podium. © Twitter Many people in the audience, and even the ones watching the old man on their TV sets were unaware of his identity. Interest piqued and within a span of few minutes Pratap Chandra Sarangi began trending on social media. But the entire episode didn't come as a shock to the people of Odisha, especially those who live in and around Balasore when they saw 'Nana' Sarangi taking his oath as Minister of State in the Modi government last evening. © Twitter The newly elected MP from Odisha's Balasore, 64-year-old Pratap Chandra Sarangi isn't a regular politician. Sarangi lives in a hut, rides a bicycle and his combined assets amount to just 5.5 lakhs. Sarangi thinks of himself a social worker, and supports himself through his pension and agricultural income. In his affidavit Sarangi declared that he does not own a vehicle, jewelry, and has no liabilities. Sarangi has always led a simple life, living on little income, caring for his ailing mother, as he worked out of a small hut and bridged distances and differences riding on a bicycle. © Twitter However, this exactly how Sarangi had planned his 36 years ago. As a 28-year-old he had wanted to become a monk at the Ramakrishna Math, but the head Swamiji at Ramakrishna Mission didn't accept his request, because that would have left his mother alone with no one to care for her. It was at that point that Sarangi decided to join the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and became a sevak, to work as a social worker. It was only later that he got associated with Bharatiya Janata Party. A two-time MLA from the Nilgiri assembly, Sarangi won the seat in 2004 and 2009. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, Sarangi defeated two popular rivals, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Rabindra Jena and Navajyoti Patnaik of Congress by a great margin. © Twitter As for why Sarangi is so popular with people, it's because he has been actively working for the people in the area. Sarangi opened many Ekal Vidyalayas (village schools with single school teacher) in the interiors of Odisha. He has had an active involvement in local protests, such as anti-liquor movements and the likes. He also opened Samrkara Kendras in tribal villages in Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts. This time as a Minister of State, Sarangi wants to turn Balasore into a tourist destination as well. © Twitter Sarangi has come a long way. From being a simple man who has been invested in people's welfare, to becoming a Minister of State in Modi's government by winning Lok Sabha elections from his constituency by campaigning through a hired auto rickshaw.
  11. The greatest honour in the world of cricket, for which every aspiring cricketer lusts after ever since they first dreamed about playing for their country and their colours, the ICC World Cup trophy is designed to perfection and feels worthy of a championship winning team. Coming after the era of World Cups trophies which were named after the primary sponsors of the quadrennial tournament through the years, the current trophy is the sport's first ever permanent reward that first came into existence in 1999. But how is the silverware actually made? “To be involved with the Cricket World Cup, to help bring the piece to fruition, is a real privilege for a manufacturer, a British manufacturer as well,” Steven Ottewill, the Trophy Director said in an interview with the International Cricket Council. How do you actually make a trophy like the @cricketworldcup? Ahead of the #CWCTrophyTour, here's a peek into its manufacture! pic.twitter.com/M7QYWmrYm8 — ICC (@ICC) August 22, 2018 “The piece weighs about 11 kilos. Its height is 650mm tall. The base is a hardwood base – with any concept trophy, we have to render, draw to scale. We either draw freehand or pen work. That's the starting point.” Dimensions and calculations are taken extremely seriously while the trophy is designed. After all, it is not only about drawing a mere sketch on a piece of paper, now is it? “It's a lot of responsibility,” says Zoe Clarke, the Design Manager. “You need to be artistic, and try to produce a nice, organic looking design. But then you need to also have the math behind to work out how it's being made, and to the drawings.” The thickness of the three columns shaped as stumps and bails, the curvature of the two hollow semi-spheres that complete the large globe atop the cup and the small details present at the base of the trophy are very important to Ottewill. He does not settle for anything less than a shiny, scratchless, 100 per cent balanced cup. Ahead of the #CWCTrophyTour, we're learning about how the @cricketworldcup trophy was made. Meet David Bedford, the man who engraved the trophy. He talks us through an art that allows no room for error. pic.twitter.com/GODCqGygHN — ICC (@ICC) August 21, 2018 Probably the most essential feature of the cup has to be the detailed engravings on the central globe and Ottewill knows just the man to get that done. “It's been near on 50 years, it's been my life. And a passion too – my wife says, 'I don't think you'll ever retire fully',” says David Bedford, the Hand Engraver who got into this profession way back in 1965. “You must be able to draw. Anything we do, to be able to cut it, you have to be able to draw. It's all done free-hand first – drawn, then scribed, then cut. Drawing skills are essential,” Bedford says. “I've got a selection of cutters here that I use for different projects,” he says. “Some of these handles are probably 200 years old, maybe. You can pick a cutter up and it just will feel correct – it's in you, it's in your hands. Years and years of concentrating, you pick up a cutter and you can just do it.” What goes into the design of an iconic trophy like the ICC Cricket World Cup? Ahead of the #CWCTrophyTour, we asked the team who made it! â¶ï¸ https://t.co/RipOnE3pKG pic.twitter.com/2WwLdNaYcl — Cricket World Cup (@cricketworldcup) August 19, 2018 As far as tradition is concerned, the original trophy which is prepared every four years does not get out of the ICC head office in Dubai, ever. Its replica, however, goes home with the champions. These copies aren't exactly the same. While the original cup consists of the names of the previous champions and consists of the ICC logo, the replicas only have the current winner's name engraved along with the logo of that particular event. The craftsmen involved in the process of converting metal into such a masterpiece echo the emotions of millions of fans of the game when they laughingly say: “It has to be perfect,” as it truly is.
  12. How funny is it to see a goofy Ranveer Singh bickering with Alia Bhatt over hotel and flight booking discounts and how sweet was it to see Deepika and her mom talk about learning from failures and moving forward as they spoke about what “ander se strong” meant for them in a certain toothpaste advertisement? The Indian advertising industry has found its winning formula in India's obsession with celebrities and anything (and everything) they say or do. From making top Bollywood A-listers endorse everything from toilet cleaners, to undergarments and anti-dandruff shampoos, we have seen it all. © Twitter However, given how much Indians worship celebs and eat out of their hands as they try to sell them some commodity or service, it's no wonder that the industry is booming and sort of becoming a source of major side income for these stars. 2018 was especially a landmark year when it came as close to spending 1000 crores on celebrities for brand promotions. It was Bollywood's 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar who toppled every other star, including the Khans who have dominated the industry for the longest time, by bagging 100 crores through brand endorsements last year. © Twitter While the shift has already begun and brands are more actively seeking out Bollywood's young brigade for the youth connect, some old-timers have managed to hold the top spot after Akshay. 1. Ranveer Singh © Twitter Claiming the second spot right after Akshay is Ranveer Singh who made Rs 84 crore through advertisements last year. 2. Deepika Padukone © Twitter In the third position is Bollywood's leading lady and Ranveer's SO Deepika, who bagged Rs 75 crores through endorsements alone in 2018. 3. Amitabh Bachchan © Twitter Next up, Bollywood evergreen 'Don' Amitabh Bachchan who added Rs 72 crore to his bank balance through ads. 4. Alia Bhatt © Twitter Claiming the fifth spot in the top five is Alia Bhatt, who took home Rs 68 crore through her many advertisement projects.
  13. April Fools is far away, and yet we came across one of the best and sweetest pranks ever to be played on mommy dearest. A girl from Pakistan recently saw 'John Wick 3' and rekindled her love for Keanu Reeves, obviously, because he's so goddamn awesome! So, anyway, Zahra Haider, 32, fooled her 'Ammi' into believing something really improbable. What, you ask? Check it out here: Also I know none of you asked but here we are âºï¸ pic.twitter.com/04klmcbVYz — zeher (@haiderzs) 21 May 2019 She decided to prank her mother by texting her and telling her she's dating Keanu Reeves. And of course, her mother completely believed it because she has no idea who Keanu Reeves is! TIL that my mom has no idea who Keanu Reeves is, and I took full advantage. pic.twitter.com/gEVuEPwLlB — zeher (@haiderzs) 20 May 2019 (c)Twitter She described Reeves in the most fascinating way ever to her mother. She told him he doesn't believe in religion and is a bit 'older'. We're really cracking up here. (c)Twitter Imagine a desi mom being told the same. You'd be ducking from a flying chappal right about now. Ammi read her daughter's messages and in her naivety, said the sweetest thing ever! (c)Twitter Isn't she just so adorable? When Zahra posted these screenshots on Twitter, the online community loved her mother's response and gave her an apt celeb status. (c)Twitter Isn't she the coolest mom ever? Well, the Twitterati surely agrees. The level of acceptanceðð I would've gotten flying chappals — Mehreen Talha (@dramallama212) 21 May 2019 want a mom like that — Im Abeer. 14. The Lok Sabha Election results have been termed as TsuNaMo and Modi Wave 2.0, and we all know why that is. The clean sweep win for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been the biggest topic of discussion since yesterday and sure enough friends and foes of the winning party have come forward to have their say. © Twitter But if there is one thing about such events that keep common people on their toes, it's the prospect of finding out what the opposition parties and celebrities have to say about it. And surely, many politicians and celebrities have voiced themselves since the results came out. While reactions to the such a major event are to be found in abundance, what's the fun in that? So instead of doing what is most obvious, we decided to bring you 5 very interesting things celebrities have said about the election results. Gul Panag © Twitter This is turning into a Shok Sabha for the opposition! — Gul Panag (@GulPanag) May 23, 2019 Well, what can we say, but it did turn into a shok sabha for Congress and AAP eventually. Thankfully, they haven't been the kind of sore losers everyone was expecting them to be. Vishal Dadlani © Twitter This was my prediction, a few hours before exit polls. It's not about Pulwama. Nor about development, nor Mandir/Masjid nor any such. The narrative that has truly worked is "if not Modi...who?". No opposition party was able to provide an answer with any resonance. Truth. https://t.co/o6RWu4cFpt — VISHAL DADLANI (@VishalDadlani) May 23, 2019 Known for his honest opinions when it comes to politics and rights of citizens, even Vishal laid down the bigger truth as it was. India chose its leader and the reasons are in front of us to see. Siddharth © Twitter #Congress should consider changing their team name like #DelhiDaredevils. There are only so many thrashings under an incapable leader and self goals that any party can take. Is the grand old party of Independent India on its death bed? #IndianElections2019 — Siddharth (@Actor_Siddharth) May 23, 2019 If there is one celebrity who has constantly been very verbal with his objections, it has to be Telugu actor Siddharth. However, after the Lok Sabha Election verdict, even Siddharth urged the opposition to introspect. Shashi Tharoor © Twitter As my lead nears 50,000 with 72% counted, i feel like a batsman who has scored a century while his team has lost! It's a bittersweet emotion I will take some time to reflect on. #TharoorForTvm — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) May 23, 2019 This post of the wordsmith was so on-point, we couldn't help but agree to it. It's sad to see that Shashi Tharoor couldn't celebrate his hatrick win the way he wanted to. Shekhar Kapur © Twitter The world does not want to believe the Indian Voter has a mind of its own? The rubbish I have been reading makes them look like sheep following a herd. 85 million are first time voters who voted for a better future. The results will declare who they believe will give it to them — Shekhar Kapur (@shekharkapur) May 23, 2019 Again, it's time we all accept and respect the verdict that's come about regardless of whether it goes with our personal beliefs or not.
  15. Those of you who have been on the extremely popular (and super addictive) video-sharing platform YouTube, will agree that the time has come to officially declare 'Power of YouTube' as a legit phenomenon. I mean, who are we even kidding by second-guessing this completely obvious move, especially with regard to the Indian subcontinent? Wasn't it only last year when India overtook the United States of America to become the top country with the most number of YouTube audience in the world? For the uninitiated, yes it was. With over 265 million active monthly users, India broke all records to claim the top spot in 2018. © Instagram So, it is only natural that one of our country's top YouTubers, Ajey Nagar aka 'CarryMinati' would prove it to the entire world that the 'Power of YouTube' can bring people from around the world to converge at a single point on-screen to laugh together. Ajey was just 10-years-old when he put out his first YouTube video, and nine years down the line and aged 19, he has been named amongst the '10 Next Generation Leaders 2019' by famed US publication TIME magazine. © Instagram How this glorious moment came to pass, is a tale that is nothing less than inspiring. Once you get to know about Ajey's journey, you will believe that anything is possible, as long as you keep dreaming and follow your passion. The Backstory Just like any of us, Faridabad resident Ajey was an avid YouTube video consumer and it is during one such viewing that Ajey decided he wants to be on the other side of the screen too. Following the lives of successful YouTubers and partaking the awesome content they put out on the platform, inspired Ajey to create a similar life for himself. © Instagram With a wish to create quality content for his audience, that would entertain and educate people all at once, Ajey started churning out roasts and sketches on his YouTube channel 'CarryMinati', which enjoys close to 7 million subscribers today. The Beginning It was back in 2016 that Ajey finally found his niche in creating “diss tracks” on “weird and cringey” user-generated videos on Facebook and TikTok. Ajey cashed-in on his desi swag and started producing content in Hindi, which reached thousands of viewers who enjoyed the videos so much, that soon 'CarryMinati' became one of India's most followed YouTube channels. The Ultimate Breakthrough © Instagram However, it was in January this year when things changed completely for Ajey. One of Ajey's diss tracks against infamous YouTuber PewDiePie went viral. The video titled 'Bye PewDiePie' where Ajey addresses PewDiePie and tells him that one day India will rule the world, came as a response to one of PewDiePie's videos mocking the broken English of an Indian man, which had offended Ajey. The video garnered a million likes in a jiffy and there was no looking back for Ajey after that. The Bigger Picture © Instagram In his interview with TIME, Ajey shared that his ultimate goal is to inspire people, help them take pride in their culture and embrace their identity, no matter where they are. That's the reason why Ajey chose to create videos in Hindi instead of English. He is reaching out to those who dare to be different and still manage to create a dent with their quality work. © Instagram Ajey takes pride in his roots and wishes to make the best of the desi swag we Indians are known for. 'Be yourself' is Ajey Nagar aka 'CarryMinati's ultimate success mantra. What a proud moment for the young man and our country to have such gems amidst us, who are constantly making India proud globally.
  16. With 28 seasons already gone, 'The Simpsons' remains one of the best and most popular animated series in the history of television. When there was actually nothing to look forward to, there was 'The Simpsons' and we're glad it stuck around dealing with infinite worldly issues, giving us survival hope, all the time! © 20th Television But apart from watching 'The Simpsons' for the thrill of it and because it was good animation, the show also made sure the future was foreshadowed all along. The show has made some crazy predictions in politics, tech and now, 'Game of Thrones' and we really don't know how these guys do it! From predicting autocorrect fails to now predicting the 5th episode of 'Game of Thrones', it's a show you should watch if you really want to strategise your way of living in this world. Because what the Simpsons know in the future, clearly we don't! And they always happen to predict it through an episode, years before it actually happens! © 20th Television Don't believe me? Just recently, about two years ago, when 'Game Of Thrones', Season 7 had finished airing, 'The Simpsons' aired an episode in October 2017, called the 'Serfsons'. The episode was related to 'Game of Thrones' and in a scene, they showed a dragon burning down the family's village, which was actually synonymous with Daenerys Targaryen burning down King's Landing in episode 5, Season 8 of 'GoT', which aired last week! So, 'The Simpsons' had already given us major spoilers almost two years ago and predicted the ending well in advance! Here, take a look! The simpsons wtf !!!!ðð¥ #GameofThrones pic.twitter.com/U1hK8UvmG5 — خاÙد (@ilkh_) 13 May 2019 The episode was actually a 'GoT' parody and featureD Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa, who were recast as feudal peasants, trying to deal with Marge, who is bitten by an 'Ice-Walker'. And of course, Twitter lost its sh** after watching the prediction made by 'The Simpsons' about 'Game of Thrones'! Well I be damned they predicted the future again#gameofthrones #GOTS8E5 #simpsons #Daenerys pic.twitter.com/7rE9nR2bun — larissa (@cuddlemetria) 13 May 2019 Why does the @TheSimpsons theme song work perfectly with @GameOfThrones opening. ð¤ #GameofThrones #Simpsons pic.twitter.com/hyJ7NL8wfO — Gerry Rushe (@gerry_rushe) 10 May 2019 But that's not all what 'The Simpsons' have predicted for the future. There are many things and as time progressed we started discovering how precious each episode of the show really is. Here are 5 future predictions that 'The Simpsons' has really made: (1) Donald Trump's Presidency Season 11, Episode 17: Bart To The Future Predicted: 2000 Came True: 2006 Bart is experiencing adulthood in this episode and Lisa becomes president, who inherits 'quite a budget crunch', from the predecessor Donald Trump. In 2016, writer Dan Greaney told an popular news publication that the Trump joke was a warning to America and said “That just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom, it was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane." At the beginning of the scene you can see a 20th Century Fox sign, and underneath it, it says 'a division of Walt Disney Co.' And guess what? In December 2017, Disney reached a deal to acquire Fox for $66.1 Billion. Fun fact: @TheSimpsons' Milhouse once predicted MIT Prof. Holmström would win a #NobelPrize. Today, he was right! https://t.co/CC0LRk1avy pic.twitter.com/syhMiJBK2A — Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (@MIT) 10 October 2016 (5) Greece's Economic Crisis Season 23, Episode 10 Predicted: 2012 Came True: 2015 Remember Greece's big economic crisis about 4 years ago? Well, in this episode, Homer appears as a guest commentator and there's a ticker running below on the screen which says 'Europe puts Greece on eBay'. Well, this actually happened when Greece became the first developed country to face fierce debt with the International Monitory Fund, putting the country in a grave economic crisis. The show has made other popular predictions, which are heavily technical in nature and they've all come true and how! Let's just stay tuned to the show because we now think 'The Simpsons' will soon predict how the world will eventually end and it'll definitely come in handy!
  17. Developing games is not an easy task, especially for Apple where everything published on the App Store needs to follow set guidelines and respect a user's privacy. In fact, publishing an app on Apple's platform involves a lot of hard work, paperwork and quality control. In order to help budding app developers, Apple has a dedicated “App Accelerator” that helps people in developing applications that don't only meet Apple's standards but also help in the development cycle. © SmartHunch Meet Namit Nangia, founder at Smarthunch who developed a very unique game that was launched on Apple's App Store in March earlier this year. The game is called “What the Fish!” That is essentially an auto-running game with a very unique feature. Players are able to control their character by simply blinking. In order to jump over obstacles, players have to blink so that the little fish is able to keep going forward. The game is able to easily identify and differentiate between regular blinks from forced ones as it follows a custom physics engine. The character in the game would only jump when a user blinks longer than 180ms. Alternatively, if you don't want to blink, you can always use the touch mechanics to play the game. The game is currently available for iPhone Xs, Xs Max, XR & X and iPad Pro 2018 (at 120 frames per second) and uses the TrueDepth camera system to track your blinking patterns. 'What The Fish!' Currently sells on Apple App Store for Rs 160 but the biggest challenge remains is the game's growth in India. India heavily relies on free mobile gaming however with Apple's new Apple Arcade service right around the corner, there is a chance we might see games like "What The Fish!” as a part of the service. This will enable gamers to play undiscovered games like “What The Fish!” and countless others for a single fee. So How Does Apple Help Developers? © SmartHunch When speaking to Mr Nangia, he said: “It isn't hard to incorporate the TrueDepth's API in a game, however, it is hard to get it approved by Apple.” This is where Apple's App Accelerator comes in as it helps developers to understand and learn new advances in Apple ecosystem from Apple experts directly. The Cupertino giant has one in Bengaluru, India that enables developers like Mr Nangia to better understand the iOS platform and take advantage to create new games and applications. It helps developers understand platform-optimised frameworks or advise in creating a great user experience. Apple hosts presentations for developers and it's free to attend. Following guidelines that involve developing apps that use Apple's ARkit or the TrueDepth camera is even harder. “Since it is harder to follow these guidelines, Apple helped me with feedback and understanding the guidelines better” Are you a developer looking to publish your own app or game on Apple's App Store? You can also take advantage of Apple's App Accelerator for free to get feedback, mentorship and guidance.
  18. The Hindi film industry has evolved leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, with some really good content making its way to the big screen. Of course, a few senseless entertainment ('SOTY 2'...ahem) flicks also manage to slip through, but overall, Bollywood has managed to keep movie-goers engaged with quality films such as 'Raazi', 'Padman', 'Hichki', 'Parmanu', '102 Not Out', 'Andhadhun', 'Manto', 'Badhai Ho', 'Uri', 'Gully Boy' and the likes striking a chord with the audience. © Instagram The streak of quality content from Bollywood promises to continue with the release of some recent first looks, which have left the audience intrigued as well as excited for what's to come. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan shared the first look of his upcoming film 'Chehre' and the picture has got the grapevine working overtime, owing to the similarities between Big B's look in 'Chehre' to iconic 'Harry Potter' series character Dumbledore. © Twitter Well, the look has also made his fans anxious about what 'Chehre' is all about, since we have never seen Amitabh Bachchan in such a look. As per the latest reports, this much-awaited film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi is being produced by Anand Pandit and directed by Rumi Jaffrey. The shooting for the film has already begun in Mumbai. Reportedly, 'Chehre' also stars Kriti Kharbanda, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor, Dritman Chakroborthy, Raghubir Yadav and Annu Kapoor. It is scheduled to release on 21st February 2020. © Twitter Apart from Bachchan Sr's look in 'Chehre', the first looks of these 5 upcoming Bollywood films also made us go 'oh teri!'. Check them out here: 1. Vicky Kaushal in 'Sardar Udham Singh' © Twitter We recently got to behold the first look of Shoojit Sircar's upcoming directorial project 'Sardar Udham Singh' starring Vicky Kaushal. The pictures showed Vicky Kaushal shooting in Russia as the titular character, who was an Indian freedom fighter. 2. Deepika Padukone in 'Chhapaak' © Instagram Deepika's first look from 'Chhapaak', which is being directed by Meghna Gulzar, grabbed quite a few eyeballs when it was first released. Based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, people commended Deepika's look because it looked so convincing. 3. Kartik Aaryan in 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' © Instagram Kartik's look from his upcoming film 'Pati, Patni Aur Woh' which is a remake of the 1978 movie by the same name, left fans gawking at their screens. Also, starring Ananya Pandey and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, Kartik as Chintu Tyagi in the film looked nothing like the dapper star and excited the audience for whatever is in store. 4. Ayushmann Khurrana in 'Dream Girl' © Twitter Recently, when the filming began for Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer 'Dream Girl', Ayushmann took to his social media account and shared his first look and said, “As whacky as it can get! Here's the first glimpse of my look in and as #DreamGirl. Thoughts?” Of course, his fans had lots of thoughts to spare, because obviously! 5. Bhumi Pednekar & Tapsee Pannu in 'Saand Ki Aankh' © Twitter Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar's upcoming movie garnered a lot of buzz when they transformed into famous “Shooter Dadis” for Anurag Kashyap's 'Saand Ki Aankh.' Based on the lives of sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and Prakshi Tomar, who learnt shooting at the age of 60, the audience is looking forward to this one hitting the screens.
  19. Luxury brands should stick to what they do best: make luxurious products that are often well designed and are (mostly) overpriced. Some luxury companies have tried to get on the wearable bandwagon by launching their own smartwatches and even bracelets. While they may look awesome, they don't work as well as something that costs Rs 1,500 maybe. © Twitter Luxury brand Louis Vuitton has now made a handbag that is an odd fusion between technology and fashion. It was presented as a part of its 2020 cruise collection and has OLED screens on a duffle bag. The company also presented a bucket bag that also has OLED screens on each side. © Twitter The company describes it as a fusion of “cutting-edge technology with the Maison's signature savoir-faire, the new canvas displays moving images while taking the form of some of Louis Vuitton's most iconic bags". We would like to give LV full marks for the effort but the design of the bag simply looks ghastly. Why would anyone stitch OLED screen on the side of the bag? The OLED screen on the duffle bag shows video clips of different cities. The bucket bag comes with screens on each side and the OLED panel on this bag can also be used as a touchscreen. Both bags from LV simply do not exude luxury but simply looks like something a knock-off store would make in the fake goods markets in South Asia. © Louis Vuitton The OLED panels on the bags are said to be flexible but I guess the people at LV didn't hear about Samsung's fiasco with foldable smartphones. These bags are going to experience the same problems as the foldable phone and look ugly at the same time.
  20. Fitness is a growing scene in India and many people have even started taking it seriously as a career choice. There are many good trainers and coaches globally who put evidence-based fitness practices to use and help their audiences. Like everything else, this good comes with a bad side as well. There are trainers who make claims that are more absurd than the Flat Earth theory and make evidence-based practitioners like me want to cry tears of blood. © Getty Images Here are five foolish claims made by gym trainers and gurujis: 1. High Repetitions For Fat Loss & Low Repetitions For Muscle Gain: This is absolutely stupid. Your goal, at any time, should be to gain or maintain strength. Doing high reps with low weights could actually make you lose your gains. Truth – Fat Loss / Cutting is achieved by following a calorie deficit nutrition plan, combined with adequate protein (1.6 g.kg – 2.2 g/kg) and progressive resistance training. 2. Consume Protein Shake Within 30 Minutes Post Workout: This is based on the belief that there is a magical window of opportunity and if you do not drink a protein shake in that, you will lose muscle. Truth – The anabolic window is not so short that one will lose their gains if they postpone their meal after the workout for some time. Especially, when the Pre-Workout meal (rich in protein) was consumed close to the workout. 3. Changing Hormones For Fat Loss: You need to diet in a certain way to control your hormones like insulin, testosterone, and growth hormone to lose fat or build muscle. Truth – It's true that hormones play a role in Fat Loss/ Muscle Gain. But the problem is, we can't do much about it. Changing hormones is complex and can only be done by Doctors who have studied this field for endless years. Instead, fixing our nutrition and lifestyle would be our best bet. 4. Restricting Salt & Condiments For Fat Loss: I cannot tell you how stupid it is that they say this. Stop salt for fat loss or to reduce salt intake. Truth – It's true that sodium contained in Salt causes us to hold water. However, this is purely normal and required by our body to sustain its normal functions. Instead, add them to your diet and make your meals tasty. 5. Shock And Confuse Your Muscles In Every Workout: It is said that your muscles get used to certain exercises and that you need to keep changing exercises to shock your muscle. © Getty Images Truth – Changing training program frequently would not do any good as muscles don't grow in the initial period of starting any new exercise. The real gains come after you start progressing on these exercises after 2-3 weeks. It's this time when your muscles start to grow. Summary – With zero filtration rate in the fitness industry, frauds will prevail in every field. It's the duty of the audience to research about a particular belief multiple times and then follow that advice. Author Bio: A strong believer of the no-nonsense approach when it comes to fitness, Rachit Bir has been fortunate enough to learn from the brightest minds in the industry. 21. While most of our teenage years revolved around juggling and complaining about the after school hours labour our schools passed off as “homework”, or making fancy strategies to decimate the other team on the playground, recent times have shown a tremendous change in the kind of teenagers growing in our midst. Gone are the days when fun and games ruled the lives of teenagers (apart from truck-loads of studying), now young geniuses have replaced regular teenagers - making the likes of us feeling pretty insignificant. © Getty Images From setting up their own businesses, to winning international competitions and creating mind-boggling devices, these young minds have achieved extraordinary feats. Not only have they inspired millions of people but have also made Indians proud through their impeccable achievements. Akshat Singh, the kid who had first become famous for shaking a leg with his idol Salman Khan on the iconic song 'Hud Hud Dabangg', went on to charm people with his moves on multiple reality shows in India. Later, we saw him make India proud on the popular US show 'Ellen Degeneres Show', with his wit and talent. © Akshat Singh Come 2019, and the young 13-year-old has rocked the entire city of London with his 'golden buzzer' performance on 'Britain's Got Talent'. His stellar dance performance compelled the judges to give him a standing ovation, while the hosts went ahead and pressed the golden buzzer for him. Talking about these experiences Akshat told MensXP, “Very few people get the chance to represent their country on such global platforms. I got the chance to make my nation, my parents and my school proud which makes me feel very lucky and happy.” © Akshat Singh Currently in class 9th, Akshat works hard to manage his studies and his passion, but he has no complaints about it. He says, “I usually study while travelling and between shows, but my only motive is to make others happy(through my work). I wish to become an actor in the future and want to tell others that nothing is impossible in life if you work hard and believe in yourself.” Merely a teenager, but Akshat's words of wisdom will leave you speechless. What's more, we shall soon be able to watch Akshat's performance on 'Britain's Got Talent' on Colors Infinity. 22. So, Game of Thrones season 8's episode 4 aired earlier this week, and it quickly went viral because of the Starbucks goof-up. In case you've been living under a rock, this week's GoT episode had a coffee cup in one of the scenes. Yes, there was a coffee cup in front of Daenerys Targaryen during the post-battle celebrations. It's hilarious. While the HBO folks updated the episode by removing the coffee cup, it looks like the coffee chain made $2.3 billion worth of free advertising. © Reuters According to CNBC, Starbucks received an estimated $2.3 billion in free advertising in the days before it was updated. That's a lot of money for a production goof-up, isn't it? Stacy Jones, CEO of marketing company Hollywood Branded, told CNBC that Starbucks got 10,627 mentions online, on TV and on the radio. But do you know what's the most hilarious part? Well, it wasn't even a Starbucks coffee cup. Yes, it's not the brand's iconic green siren on the cup. It was a coffee cup from the production's craft services. What? This coffee cup goof-up, by the way, isn't the only mistake we've spotted on the GoT episode over the years. You can check out the list of all the mistakes on GoT episodes here.
  23. This copy contains Massive, Major, Mega spoilers, so please walk away if you still have not seen 'Avengers: Endgame'. Okay. So, I've seen 'Avengers: Endgame' three times already over the weekend? Can you blame me? You can't consume all that awesomeness in one sitting. I mean, the first time I watched, pretty sure I blacked out at some point and could barely hear anything over the sound of my own screams. The second watch helped me process the movie a little better, and the third time, I was just sitting back and enjoying the reaction from the audience at all those moments where I had lost it during my first watch. By the time I saw 'Endgame' a third time, a few quotes and one-liners had already stuck by me, and for a very good reason too. Given the kind of reaction these dialogues got from the audience, pretty sure they enjoyed it as much as I did. So, here are 20 quotes, quips and one-liners from 'Endgame' that blew my mind, along with the rest of the audience's as well: 1. Before You Didn't Have Me. © Marvel Part of Carol Danvers' awesomeness comes from her insane confidence, which was on full display in this quote. We have the distressed Avengers discussing their next plan of action after Thanos wipes of 50 per cent of the planet, and Bruce Banner tries to reason with the team when they decide to go against Thanos one more time, saying “how do we know it's going to end any differently than it did before?”. To which Captain Marvel responds with this badass quote. 2. Let's Go Get This Sonofabitch. © Marvel Is there any better sound in this world than Captain America using profanities? When the Avengers decide to go kick Thanos' butt again, we have Steve Rogers saying this, and I couldn't help but yell “LANGUAGE!” 3. I Went For The Head. © Marvel I will not lie, I punched myself in the face here. I did not see it coming, man. Thor slicing the head off Thanos in one clean stroke, damn! Also, this quote is super significant given that Thanos had taunted Thor in 'Infinity War' when he struck the Titan in the chest, saying “You should have gone for the head.” 4. DAB! Who would have imagined seeing the Hulk dab one day? Not me. Which is why watching 'Professor' Hulk dab along with a bunch of kids and taking selfies was such an unbelievable yet adorable thing. The best of Bruce Banner + the best of the Hulk = Professor Hulk. 5. I Just Want Peace. © Marvel When Tony Stark finally figures out Time Travel successfully and rushes to the Avengers Headquarters, you see him being greeted by Captain America, who looks a little taken aback given their previous encounter, where Tony had flatly refused from participating in any Time Travel-based missions. As a justification for changing his mind, Tony simply holds up a peace sign with his finger and says this sassy line. 6. What's Up Regular-Sized Man? Man, I just love Scott Lang, ever since the first 'Ant-Man' movie. His comic timing is so on point that I can't even. However, this time, the tables turn when Rhodey lands in his War Machine suit right in front of Scott's face, and the poor guy almost gets a heart attack. 7. You Look Like Melted Ice-Cream. © Marvel I must say, watching overweight Thor walk around dejected and depressed with that jiggling beer belly damn near broke my heart. Sure, it was funny when Rocket made fun of him with this quote, but still, some sympathy would have been nice. But hey, who am I kidding? If I want sympathy, Rocket is the last racoon I'm gonna get it from. 8. You Want To Go To Space, Puppy? I'll Take You To Space! Rocket really let Scott have it with this condescending quote, but can't really blame him. Scott was being rreeallly painfully slow here when the Avengers were discussing the locations of the Infinity stones across space. So, when Scott says, “A planet? Like in outer space?”, Rocket rips him a new one. 9. Hail Hydra. © Marvel Ohmygod! This was so cool. When these words left Captain America's mouth, I went partially deaf thanks to the screaming bloke next to me. It was bloody brilliant though. Cap playing along with the Hydra infiltrators instead of just kicking their ass like he did in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', was epic. 10. I Can Do This All Day. Yeah, I Know! © Marvel When the Present Captain America faces Past Captain America, well, fireworks were expected. However, no one expected it to turn downright funny when Cap from the past shoots his infamous line at, what he thinks is Loki in disguise, to which the present, more jaded Cap replies less enthusiastically. 11. I Am Still Worthy! This was super emotional for me, I must confess. After watching Thor being at his most dejected self, which has clearly taken a toll on him both mentally and physically, this moment when he finally redeems himself, was brilliant. Thor goes back in time to Asgard to retrieve the Reality Stone, when right before leaving for the present, he has a stroke of brilliance and summons Mjolnir (still intact as Hella has not arrived yet). You can see the joy he feels when he is reconnected with his old hammer which leads him to say these powerful words. 12. Let's Kill Him Properly This Time. © Marvel Thor reminds the Avengers that 'this time', while they are facing Thanos again, they will have no option but to take him out for good, unlike the last time in 'Infinity War' where Thor did not go for his head. 13. I KNEW IT! Watching the audience losing it was nothing compared to Thor's reaction when Captain America wielded Mjolnir. I swear, it was the most badass moment in any Marvel movie I have ever seen. Electric Captain America. God, I was not ready for it. 14. Avengers, Assemble Another orgasmic moment from the movie. You're lying if you're telling me you didn't clap, whistle or hoot like a maniac when Captain America said these words, as all the dusted superheroes came back after the snap was undone by Bruce. Thanos did not see this coming! 15. Don't Worry, She's Got Help. What a girl power moment, am I right? With Thanos from the past, wreaking havoc in the present-day Earth, trying to get his hands on the new gauntlet made by the Avengers with all the Infinity Stones, we have Spider-Man looking bruised and battered, clutching the Gauntlet for dear life, and who swoops in to take over? Captain Marvel. Peter looks a little unsure about her plan looking at the battlefield and says, “I don't know how you're going to get through all of that,” to which the confident Okoye responds with this kickass dialogue. And then one by one, all the other female MCU characters appear and man, what a scene! 16. I Am Inevitable. And I Am Iron Man. I am confident I was not the only one whose heart was in their throats at this scene! After Thanos tosses Tony Stark to the side after a pretty intense grappling session, now armed with the Gauntlet, he says “I am inevitable”, and for a moment, all is lost as he snaps his fingers. But lo and behold! The gems are missing and then we see Tony revealing how he had stolen the Stones and planted them on his own armoured glove during their fight and delivers this incredible line. Raise your hands if you got goosebumps! 17. We Won Mr Stark. You Did It, Sir. Remember, “Mr Stark…I don't feel so good?”, how we were all left an emotional mess and felt we could never recover? Well, this was a million times worse. After Tony snaps his fingers and turns Thanos and his army to dust, we immediately see the life beginning to sap out of him as the Gauntlet had taken a toll on his mortal form. Peter runs to Tony and tries to console his hero, his mentor, who is taking his last breath and dying right before his eyes. Sorry…brb…I can't …. 18. Tony, We'll Be Okay. You Can Rest Now. © Marvel Hands down, the most gut-wrenching scene from the movie. Tony is dying on the battlefield after defeating Thanos, and is surrounded by everyone he loves, and Pepper helps him go in peace as she holds him and assures him that he did his job and they were all going to be okay. You're made of stone if this scene didn't reduce to a blubbering mess! 19. I Love You 3000. Watching Tony be a dad in the second half was one of the most fulfilling and beautiful scenes in the movie. Even though Thanos destroyed half the world, from that darkness, Tony managed to find a slice of happiness in the form of a family, which included his baby daughter Morgan. She tells him at one point, that she loves him three thousand, which he then gloats to Pepper, saying their daughter clearly loves him more than her. So, when the Avengers are at Iron Man's funeral, they play a video Tony had recorded for everyone right before they went against Thanos, just in case he died, and he repeats his daughter's line right back to her. 20. Your Dad Loved Cheeseburgers. In one of the closing scenes, right after Iron Man's funeral, we see Happy sitting with Tony's daughter Morgan and asking her if she is hungry, to which she replies that she is indeed and that she would like to have a cheeseburger. A smiling Happy then delivers this simple yet powerful line and promises to get her all the cheeseburgers she wants. This took me right back to the first 'Iron Man' movie, when Tony returns home after he escapes from his captors and says there are two things he wants, a press conference and….you guessed it right… a cheeseburger! Clearly, this moment between Happy and Morgan was a nod to Tony making a complete turnabout in his life during that press conference where he announced to the world that he was not going to make weapons of mass destruction anymore, whilst having a cheeseburger. Oh God, the feels!!
  24. Millennials can attest to the fact that the good ol' idiot box has played a vital role in developing and exposing us to the world. Well, the times have changed now, and Samsung thinks it's time the TVs around us change too. The company has made a vertical TV in an effort to woo social media-addicted millennials. That's right. It's a real thing and it's called the Sero. © Samsung Sero is Samsung's new 43-inch vertical TV that ships with Bixby assistant built-in. According to Samsung, it made this vertical TV to appeal to younger buyers who want to watch vertical videos. Don't worry though. Sero is not just a vertical TV. It's possible to flip the screen and watch horizontal content too. The TV comes with a built-in screen mirroring functionality, so you can also beam videos from, say, your phone or tablet to the TV. There's also a 60-watt speaker for music streaming. © Samsung Sero, in case you're wondering, will be available in South Korea by the end of May, and it will carry a price tag of about $1,600. Should you buy it? Well, if you're into TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and other vertical videos on YouTube, then by all means yes. There's no info about its availability outside Korea, but it'll be interesting to see how it's received in other markets.
  25. It is Varun Dhawan's birthday today. The actor, who impressed everyone with his portrayal of Zafar in 'Kalank' (let's not talk about the fight scene with a CGI bull), the actor turned 32 today, by 'kicking in' his birthday in Thailand with Muay Thai. View this post on Instagram Kicking in the bday. Thank u for all the wishesð¤ð¼ A post shared by Varun Dhawan (@varundvn) on Apr 23, 2019 at 10:01pm PDT From Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Madhuri Dixit Nene to his girlfriend Natasha Dalal; almost all his friends in Bollywood had all the nicest things to say about Varun and wished him luck. Instagram However, it was actor Arjun Kapoor's birthday wish, who also happens to be Varun's 'chaddi buddy', which caught our attention. Arjun wished him in the most savage way and let's be honest that's what best friends do: they embarass you and make fun of you. But, you still love them and can't live without them. Although everyone thinks Arjun and Ranveer are best bros, here are some moments that prove Arjun and Varun are 'best friend goals' and have been constantly redefining brocode under our nose. 1. Their Mutual Hatred And Now Love For Katrina Kaif If you are someone who has never heard of 'I Hate Katrina Kaif' fan club, then chances are you were living under a rock all this time. And since you didn't know about the club, you wouldn't know that Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor were the proud founders or admins of this club. Recently they underwent a change of heart and turned the club's name to 'We Love KK' and gave her a Dalmatian trophy too. View this post on Instagram So @varundvn & I are starting a new fan club #WeLoveKK aka @katrinakaif !!! Here we are seen awarding her, for absolutely no reason whatsoever... PS - the Dalmatian trophy Katrina's holding represents our faithful friendship kyunki yeh dosti #firstclass hai !!! ððð A post shared by Arjun Kapoor (@arjunkapoor) on Mar 27, 2019 at 5:32am PDT 2. When Arjun And Varun Trolled Each Other On Koffee With Karan 'Koffee With Karan 6' was undoubtedly the most happening season of all time. While Arjun and Varun came seperately this year, they once appeared together and rocked the episode like no one else. For instance, when Arjun threw shade on Varun. Varun: "I was consistent in my performance." Arjun: You were consistently bad." Or when Varun revealed, "You have no idea what roles we've played in acting school. I've played a dog and he's played my master. I've played a waiter and he's played a coconut seller." Twitter 3. Their Bromance On Twitter This one time they walked the ramp ahead of the release of 'Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya' and Arjun wrote on Twitter, "How can anyone stay angry with Badri? Walking like a baausss badristyle!!!" To which Varun replied "Arjun bhaiya tum hamara bahut good friend ho." Twitter 4. They Always Have Each Other's Back In one of the interviews, Varun said "I am very open to criticism. Usually, I take criticism from my friends, family, Karan Johar. When you act with a lot of people, there are very few who would like to criticise you but I have got a few, like Arjun (Kapoor) would criticise me when he gets a chance, which is very often." No matter how much they troll each other or their acting, Varun and Arjun always have each other's back. Twitter 5. His Savage Birthday Wish Since we are talking about his birthday, how can we not talk about his birthday post. From calling him a coolie, marketer to the child who refuses to grow up, Arjun's birthday wish looks like our regular conversation with our bros. We'll give you weird names, make fun but will ALWAYS wish and want the best for you. View this post on Instagram My Brother from another Mother... Humare Guruji, our #VDin3D the street dancer, the coolie, the marketer, the child who refuses to grow up... Happy Birthday @varundvn hope u lay the smack down on this coming year !!!
