  1. The thing about SRK is, even if he steps out on the road wearing a sack, it won't matter one bit to anybody, and people still will freak out and faint, such is the charisma of that man via GIPHY Plus, whenever he dresses for himself, he has such class, that even after all these years and all these glamorous newcomers, his magic remains intact in terms of style. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani So, doing a fashion analysis on his style game is tricky, because he just knows how to make anything work. However, when it comes to his appearances in movies, there have been good style moves and not so good style moves, in terms of costumes. Let's explore this a bit, shall we? via GIPHY First, let us look at some of his iconic songs where his style game was on fleek. 1. Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaaoon - Yes Boss The ultra-relaxed, all black suit along with an overcoat is something we'd love to wear even today. They say style keeps coming back, and this outfit proves that. Perhaps we'd lose that tie, but the rest is totally 'high-street'. Plus, how comfortable! 2. Humko Humise Churaa Lo - Mohabbatein Those pastel turtlenecks and those sweaters have created more impact on the Indian male fashion psyche than any magazine cover. The fit, the cut, the functionality coupled with just the right bit of whimsy, his fashion game here is A grade. (No idea why Aish is wearing chiffon in sub zero temperatures but how dare you ask that question knowing it's a YRF production you noob?) 3. Tumse Milke Dil Ka Hai Jo Haal - Main Hoon Naa Okay he's a little extra here but DO YOU REMEMBER the craze that 2000s was all about? Plus looking back, even though it was all a little blingy, all of it is put together quite well keeping the Indian fashion canvas in mind. 4. Love You Zindagi - Dear Zindagi Not really a 'song' song but let's just say that his outfits here are so tasteful that one would want to take fashion therapy from him after messing up with too many colours and patterns. Those muted, crisp linens are everything! 5. Zaalima - Raees An all black, flowy pairing of Kurta and Patiala lowers along with a statement headgear should look just like this. Those shades, and everything else about the styling is perfect keeping a desert in mind, but there's no reason why men wouldn't want to just wear something similar to a wedding or engagement. 6. Gerua - Dilwale When this came out, it honestly felt like a tribute to the iconic 'Suraj Hua Maddham', but the outfits here are so much more wearable. All the layering, be it the leather jackets or the blazers, are all well done, and one can easily take inspiration from them for a fashionable fare. 7. Hawayein - Jab Harry Met Sejal This outfit is a classic. Remember how folding your shirt sleeve over your jacket or cardigan had become a thing back then? The zippered woolen cardigan on top of that button down has an appeal that's hard to put a finger on. You know you have worn it just like that if you consider yourself fashionable. Now, let us look at some of the not so well executed fashion moments that even the one and only Shah Rukh Khan wasn't immune from. 1. Love Mera Hit Hit - Billu Barber It's a cracker of a song and we still dance to it (if you don't you're just not cool enough). But what are those outfits? Let's just say any outfit that makes the great SRK or the incredible Deepika look awkward, is a questionable outfit. In this case, every single outfit in this song. Please no. 2. India Waale - Happy New Year An utterly forgettable movie that made us question a lot of things, including the outfits in this song. That horrid blue jacket is a massive red flag for any fashion conscious man. If you look carefully, every single jacket in this song looks poorly thought out and clunky, including Sonu Sood's. Sorry King, they did you dirty here. 3. Ajab Si - Om Shanti Om An iconic song, absolutely no doubt about that. But that outfit is a no-no. No one can carry off that many checks, that too huge, boxy ones in such alarming shades. It's a no from us. 4. Are Re Are - Dil Toh Pagal Hai This movie had pathbreaking fashion moments, we must say. Those who know, know. However, SRK's outfit at the starting of the sync dance scene is guilty of 'trying too much'. The unbuttoned yet tucked in shirt along with that chunky neck piece? In a movie where Karishma Kapoor has taught girls how to dress for the next 20 years or so? Nope. 5. Satrangi Re - Dil SeWhat a movie, what a song. Take a bow, Sonu Nigam, for no one can else could've done those vocals. However, SRK's desert outfit here is just too layered, without any shape or form because of too much fabric that's heavy, and does not do justice to the iconic song that it is. Gerua's desert outfit seems to be the edited version of this one, which actually worked beautifully, on the same man. 6. Yeh Mera Dil - Don 2 Another iconic song where Kareena sizzled like there's no tomorrow, but SRK's outfit failed to. Please never do silk shirts with patterns, and even if you do, NEVER pair it with a tie of the exact same fabric that ends up INSIDE the shirt. Oof. 7. Dance Pe Chance - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi An incredible song to dance to, no doubt. But let's just say if you're not a 14 year old who's trying to make a TikTok, please don't dress like this. Please. Having said that, we'll all forever be 'Jabra Fans' irrespective of how he dresses, because we are powerless in front of his magic. You do you, King. View the full article
  2. Call Of Duty Mobile has been a massive success where the game earned $10 billion for Chinese developer TiMi last year alone. However, a new Call of Duty Mobile game is in the works that is going to be handled by an in-house mobile studio at Activision. © MensXP Activision has already started to hire for key positions for a studio called Activision Mobile. New job listings show that the next title will indeed be a Call of Duty game for both Android and iOS. The studio is based in Santa Monica, CA and the company has stressed that the new roles will be remote due to the ongoing pandemic. Much like the previous Call of Duty Mobile game, the next iteration is said to be free as well and will incorporate in-app purchases as well. A job posting for the System Designer role read “You will work directly with the Creative Leaders to conceptualize, implement, and maintain mobile monetization systems, social systems, and adapt designs based off of live data“. What we know so far is that the next game will be free-to-play and will have in-game events for live operations and social systems. The job listing does mention what they are looking for in candidates though: “We’re looking for great talent from mobile, console and PC backgrounds passionate about their work, who share our belief in what AAA experiences on mobile can and should be.” © MensXP Activision may have started to hire for new positions to develop the next Call of Duty game which means it’s quite far out as of now. We don’t expect to see the new game anytime soon as Activision may not have started the development process as of now. What would you like to see in the next Call of Duty mobile game? Would you like it to incorporate different modes and maps from Warzone or would you like it to be a standalone game? View the full article
  3. As with most movies in The Conjuring universe, The Devil Made Me Do It claims that it is based on a real-life incident. While this is true, it would be foolish to think that whatever we see in the film is historically accurate. © Warner Bros. Pictures In fact, the makers have taken a lot of liberty while making the movie. They have also omitted quite a lot of things that would have made the film a whole lot more interesting. Needless to say, it is actually interesting to find out, how accurate is The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. © Warner Bros. Pictures Here are 7 things that filmmakers Michael Chaves, James Wan & Peter Safran left out in the movie, about the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson. 1. The First Case In US History Where The Defense Was “Not Guilty Because Of Demonic Possession” © NBC This was the first case where the defence lawyer presented a plea of Not Guilty because of demonic possession. Arne Johnson’s lawyer was called Martin Minnella, who would later go on to become a best-selling author for a book he wrote on his role in the case. 2. The Mysterious Old Man © NBC The movie starts with the scene of David Glatzel’s exorcism. Prior to the exorcism, David had often seen and been attacked by a “demon” who had taken up the shape of an old man. During one of the many interviews that Arne gave to the press, during and after his trial, Arne had also spoken of this old man who would say him to do certain things. Lorraine Warren also spoke of seeing the apparition of an old man standing near David, when she met him for the first time. 3. A Possessed David Predicted Arne’s Manslaughter © Warner Bros. Pictures Gerald Brittle, who worked as an assistant to the Warrens and would often set up the cameras and recording devices, wrote a book about the exorcism of David Glatzel & Arne’s trial. As per his book, during the exorcism, a possessed David, had predicted that Arne would commit manslaughter. A show made by The Discovery Channel, A Haunting, which also covered the case, spoke of this prediction. However, the filmmakers completely skipped this. It was because of this recorded prediction that Lorraine Warren, had asked the local police to reach Bono’s kennel before the stabbing was reported. © Wiki Commons 4. Both Arne & Bono Were Drunk At The Time Of The Stabbing © Warner Bros. Pictures One thing that the film got completely wrong was the sequence of the stabbing. On the day of the murder, Bono had taken Arne’s girlfriend Debbie, her cousins, and Arne out for lunch, where the two men drank a lot, and got visibly intoxicated, as recorded in the court documents and the police report. The party then drove back to Bono’s kennel, and stayed there for some time, during which the two men were drinking again. 5. Before The Murder, Arne Got In A Heated Argument With His Landlord Bono © Warner Bros. Pictures Debbie’s youngest cousin, Mary, wanted to get some pizza when they were at Bono’s place. When they returned, Arne was apparently in a trance, not knowing where he was. Debbie suggested that she should drop the kids back home, and asked everyone to leave the room. At this point, an agitated and intoxicated Bono grabbed Mary. Arne re-entered the room and began shouting at Bono, although Mary and all her cousins testified that he was growling instead of shouting. At this point, Arne took out a pocket knife, flung himself on Bono and stabbed him repeatedly. Bono had been stabbed about 10-12 times, not 22 as the movie claims. Of this 10, 4-6 were around his vital organs, and it was these stabbings that killed him. 6. The Jury Was Not Allowed To Consider The Demonic Possession Defence © Wiki Commonsg 3 Missed The judge clearly from the start of the case that “Demonic Possession” was a defence that he would not entertain. As a result, Minnella had to come up with a defence that would imply that Arne had lost his self in the heat of the moment, and had gone temporarily insane. During the course of the trial, Minnella tried a number of tactics that would give the jury members, that Arne was in fact possessed by something other than himself. One of the biggest mistakes that Minnella made, however, was that they did not plead temporary insanity, and that cost them. 7. If Allowed To Consider The Demonic Possession Plea, Arne Would’ve Been Acquitted © Warner Bros. Pictures The prosecutor for the case pushed for the death penalty for Arne. However, Arne and Minnella were able to charm the jury. Even though he did not plead temporary insanity, Minnella was able to convince the jury that Arne was not himself on the day of the stabbing. Furthermore, reporters back then described Arne to be gentle, soft-spoken and docile. After the verdict, one of the jurors said in an interview that they wanted to acquit Arne, but simply couldn’t because they were specifically ordered to not consider Demonic Possession as a plea, and the fact that defence never plead temporary insanity. As a result, instead of first-degree murder, they found Arne guilty of manslaughter, a hugely reduced offence. The judge then gave Arne a jail term of 10-20 years, of which, Arne had to serve just 5, because of his good behaviour behind bars. The Bottom Line… Historical inaccuricasies notwithstanding, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is a pretty good film to watch if you like the Conjuring franchise of films. It may not be the best horror film, especially given what we have nowadays, but it surely does the trick of keeping you glued to your seats. View the full article
  4. Think that Bigg Boss is the worst reality TV show ever made? Boy oh boy, are you in for a big surprise. Heck, it isn’t even the worst reality TV show in India. © Colours TV Ever since we started getting reality TV shows of our own, we have had some good, shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati, some decently made shows such as Dance India Dance, and then, some really bad shows like MTV Roadies & Bigg Boss. © MTV But, there are a few shows that are at the bottom of the barrel. These reality TV shows represent the worst of the worst qualities about Indian TV. Yes, these shows, were far worse than Bigg Boss itself. They either had really bad production, some bizarre episodes and rules, or were a bit too controversial for no good reason. © MTV We take a look at 6 such shows that represent the worst that were on Indian television screens. Emotional Atyachar © Bindaas The only good thing that has come from this show are the endless memes. The show started out with a good concept, of testing suspicious partners and finding out if they were faithful. However, soon enough you had some really bizarre stuff happening on the show, just to make things sensational. Heck, there episodes where partners bit each other, when they were angry. Superdude © Bindaas This was proper garbage. This show was full of f*ckbois & emobois before they were a thing. The basic concept was teaching a group of guys how to impress women. And guess who was the teacher? Ashmit Patel. Who, Ashmit Patel, you ask? Exactly our point. Moreover, the “tricks” that they were being taught, and the tasks, all of them made the guys look like super douches, rather than super dudes. Entertainment Ke Liye Aur Bhi Kuch Karega © Sony India And yes, kuch bhi they did. The show was a headless chicken. Imagine America’s Got Talent, but shot on the sets of a cheap comedy show. There were a few good performers and participants, but most of them did not proceed anywhere. Seriously, this show was just a pain to sit through. India's Raw Star © Star India Long before Gully Boy came along there was this horror on Indian Television. And guess what, who was the judge of the show? Yo Yo Honey Singh. Basically, the aim of the show was to find the next rapper rockstar, if that is how you see Honey Singh. The show was a proper cringe-fest. Is Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao © Sony India Another show that was actually a copy of a British reality TV show, just like Bigg Boss, was this gem of a piece. The only reason that the show was on air was for the profanity-laced heated arguments between the contestants, the bizarre things they had to eat, and the fact that the makers decided to regularly show the women contestants bathing under a waterfall, on television. This seriously was a proper sleaze fest. The Swayamvar Series © Colours TV The worst show however of them all had to be the Swayamvar Series. These were our version of The Bachelor & The Bachelorette. In true Indian fashion, everything, and we mean everything about the different series were way over the top, and gaudy. Heck, the sets looked like they were made by low-budget wedding decorators at times. And guess who were the “celebrities” who were looking for their partners. Rakhi Sawant, Ratan Rajput, and Rahul Mahajan. Enough said. The bottom line… Still think that Bigg Boss is the worst show on Indian television? Just do one thing then, pick any one of these shows here, do a quick google search and try and watch a few episodes. We bet that you will have the worst migraine of your life, that’s how bad they were. View the full article
  5. PlayStation is known for doing great collaborations, especially with apparel brands to extend its brand recall and loyalty. We’ve already seen a sleek pair of sneakers by the company that was made in collaboration with Travis Scott and Nike. However, a new collaboration with a luxury label is turning heads everywhere. Balenciaga, a Spanish luxury fashion house, launched a t-shirt and a hoodie that costs more than the actual PlayStation 5. © Balenciaga The PS5 branded t-shirts are available in black or red with printed branding of the luxury fashion house. The design of the t-shirt also has the sacred symbols of PlayStation and a 'nov 2020 collection’ design indicating the November release day of the PlayStation 5 console. The hoodie is only available in black with the same design and face button printed on the sleeves. When taking a second look at the t-shirt, it actually looks like something the PlayStation sales staff would wear at a store. View the full article
  6. The Suo Moto case that was argued in the Supreme Court Of India this week, regarding the government’s handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic has gone viral on Twitter, newsrooms and social media. © BCCL Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, the justice heading the three-judge bench hearing the case, made a series of scathing remarks that spoke volumes about the manner in which the government has managed the pandemic, and how it is managing the vaccination drive. © BCCL We list out some of the statements that Justice Chandrachud made at the hearing. © Wiki Commons Bharat is a union of states.Justice Chandrachud: I was reading the Constitution. Article 1 says that Bharat is a Union of States. When the Constitution says that, then we follow the federal rule. Then Government of India has to procure the vaccines and distribute it. Individual States are left in a lurch. — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021 One of the opening remarks that Justice Chandrachud made was in response to the fact that states have been asked to procure vaccines on their own, as the central govt maintains that health is a “state” matter. BMC has more funds than a state. What about states like UP? Will you be negotiating or will they be left on their own?Justice Chandrachud: Look at BOMBAY Municipal Corporation. They have funds which could be more than a State. But, what about States such as UP ? Will you be negotiating or will they be left on their own ? The amicus can formulate the issues and you can respond to that. — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021 This was again in light of the fact that state governments have been asked to procure vaccines on their own. This statement highlights the budgetary disparity between various states, and whether the central government will allay these disparities. Why do the states have to pay a higher price?Justice Chandrachud: If this is the rationale, why do the States have to pay a higher price ? You have to ensure that vaccines are available at the same price across the nation. You can’t have a price at the Centre. #SupremeCourtofIndia #COVID19 — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021 This is a sentiment that has been shared by a number of state heads, as well as political pundits. Is it realistically possible for people in rural areas to start registering on this app?Justice Chandrachud: What about the digital divide ? Everyone has to register on COWIN. Is it realistically possible for people in rural areas to start registering on this app ? How do you expect them to do that ? Our own law clerks and friends have tried. — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021 This becomes a scathing indictment of the manner in which the CoWIN & Aarogya Setu apps have been made mandatory to get vaccinated. Seriously, what becomes of people who aren’t able to register themselves on either of the two platforms. You keep saying Digital India, Digital India, but you are not aware of the ground realities.Justice Chandrachud: You keep saying that situation is dynamic, but you have to keep your ears on the ground. You keep saying digital India, digital India, but you are not aware of the ground realities. A poor worker from Jharkhand has to go all the way to a common centre ? — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021 While Digital India was an exemplary initiative it has its drawbacks and limitations. Justice Chandrachud pointed that out with some great effect. You can’t just say that you’re the Centre and you know what’s right.Justice Chandrachud: We are not framing policy. There's an order of 30th April that these are the problems. You will be flexible. You can’t just say that you’re the Centre and you know what’s right. We have a strong arm to come down on this. — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021 This was a very serious comment on the supposed symbiotic relationship that the Central Government and State Governments are supposed to share. Digital literacy in India is far from perfect.Justice Chandrachud: If we say there is a problem, we expect you to look into. Digital literacy in India is far from perfect. I am the Chairman of the e-Committee. I have seen the problems which afflict this. You have to be flexible and keep your ears on the ground. — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021Again an indictment of the fact that in order to get vaccinated, one has to rely on technology that is inaccessible to a large portion of the population. Justice Chandrachud decided to speak from his personal experience to emphasise his point. I don’t know if a sedition case has been filed against the news channel for showing that.Arora: Why can’t the govt provide some semblance of ritual, which is also for health purposes ? Bench: We saw a picture of a body being thrown in river. Justice Chandrachud: I don’t know if a sedition case has been filed against the news channel for showing that. — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) May 31, 2021 This was a loaded comment on a number of levels, but most importantly, it was an indictment of the number of sedition cases that journalists have been charged with. This was also a statement on how the government viewed COVID-19 reportage by the media. View the full article
  7. There is some serious trouble brewing down under! China and Australia haven't really been the best of pals in recent times, and well, this time things have gotten so bad that Aussies have threatened to stop eating chocolates over it. © Istock Nah, they aren't cutting out extra calories as part of a fitness regime to take on the Chinese in martial arts tournament, no. What they are doing is planning a major boycott of the Snickers chocolate bar in the country after finding out that the popular chocolate is made not in Australia, but in China. Yikes! © Istock For some of you who don't know, Australia and China have seen their relations deteriorate after having a series of economic and diplomatic blows at each end. © Istock Not only had Australia scrapped agreements that were tied to China's massive infrastructure project, the Belt and Road Initiative, but it has also chosen to ban Chinese firm Huawei from building the 5G network in the country. Until now Aussies were casually going around, eating whatever chocolates they liked while attending concerts and other events in a well-maintained Coronavirus-free environment. However, things took a real turn after a TikToker, Jeremy Toh, while shooting a video at a supermarket store in Australia found out that the Snickers that they ate in their country, was actually made in enemy territory. © Tiktok/Jeremytoh © Tiktok/Jeremytoh Some of Australia's most beloved chocolates including Snickers and Maltesers being made in CHINA | Daily Mail Online Australians have hit out at Mars Australia over decision to move production lines Twix bar is made in Egypt Maltesers in China https://t.co/WThyd3LbMr — ☘️Maureen says G’Day🏻‍ (@826Maureen) June 1, 2020 Australia's second-largest confectionery giant, Mars, which produces Snickers, also has brands that include Maltesers, Twix, and M&Ms, with many products coming from China, Egypt, and other countries. © Istock A spokesperson from Mars, in the company's defense, said that the decision to source the product from China was temporary as their own facility in regional Victoria, was undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade. 9. Ravindra Jadeja is like having three elite-level players for the price of one and whatever team he plays for, be it the national squad of the Chennai Super Kings side of the Indian Premier League, they should be thanking their stars for having found such a talent. A fielder batsmen consciously try to avoid, a bowler who can get you crucial wickets when it matters the most, and a batsman who is unafraid to take responsibility, manage to keep his shots in check and go for the big ones when his team needs it, the 32-year old can do all things. Ravindra Jadeja had an unbelievable night out in #IPL2021 - dropped on zero, 37 runs off the one over on his way to a 28-ball 62, plus three wickets and a direct hit run out! 🤯 : BCCI-Sportzpicshttps://t.co/RvTNacWntt pic.twitter.com/OyICDBiamy — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) April 25, 2021 While his expertise in the fielding and bowling department allowed him to achieve success early in his life, while winning the U-19 World Cup under Virat Kohli’s captaincy in 2008, he remained an on-and-off member of the senior roster ever since making his international debut in 2009. During India’s World Cup 2015 campaign, the southpaw was struggling to prove his worth for a spot in the top-roster. In the eight matches played by the team, he had only managed to scalp nine wickets while failing to make an impact on the batting end. View this post on Instagram For Jadeja to reach his true potential, he needed to add that third angle to his game, he needed to become the chaotic yet organised hitter that he is today. In a conversation with The Indian Express, India’s favourite all-rounder explained how a small piece of advice after the 2015 World Cup loss from his former captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, allowed him to make himself the complete package, which the Men in Blue were dying to have onboard. View this post on Instagram “I remember he said that I was trying to hit shots against balls I shouldn’t be attempting. Shot selection was something I also felt I was doing wrong. My judgement at the start wasn’t right. I would be in double mind. ‘Should I go for the shot, or no?’ These days, I like to take my time and I am clearer in my mind. I know I can always cover up the runs later. That change in thinking has helped,” Jadeja said. “About bouncers, yes when you hit a six against short ones, the confidence increases. I never had a problem against bouncers – as in I don’t remember getting out too many times to it or thinking I can’t play it. It was about the selection of shots and my balance,” he added. View this post on Instagram Having recovered from a severe thumb injury that he had picked during India’s tour of Australia, Jadeja looked in form during the first half of the Indian Premier League before it was suspended due to a break in the bio-bubble. 10. Last week, a YouTube content creator, Paras Singh made a video that had racial remarks against Congress MLA Ninong Ering and the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Singh was arrested and handed over to Arunachal Pradesh Police for the remarks he made in the video and is now being given lessons in the history and geography of Arunachal Pradesh by the police. © Facebook_Paras Singh Paras was taken into custody and brought to Itanagar by air by the SIT (Special Investigation Team) of Arunachal Police and was given lessons to make him understand that the state is a part of India and shares a border with China. "He was shown the virtual world map to make him realise his mistake. He was also shown videos about tourism landscape of Arunachal Pradesh, various tribes and their rich culture. Although he admitted that he made the controversial video in order to get more views on YouTube for monetary gains, we believe his ignorance about the state and its people was also responsible for such insensitivity," a police officer in Arunachal Pradesh's capital, Itanagar said. Paras made a video in response to a letter shared by MLA Ninong Ering to Prime Minister Modi calling for a ban on the upcoming ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ game. In the video, Singh alleged that Arunachal Pradesh is a part of China and made racial comments about the people of the state. © screen-post-unsplash "Paras was probably upset with the letter as he made many of his videos on PUBG which got huge views and he was earning money. Also, he probably made the controversial comment in the new video in order to get attention and more views,” Rohit Rajbir Singh, SP of the special investigation team told reporters. “After taking him (Paras) into custody, the police took him on a virtual educational tour on the history, geography and demography of the state. We showed him videos of the state’s diverse tourism landscape and he was also made aware of the different tribes and cultures of Arunachal, including their songs and cuisines,” Rohit Rajbir Singh told EasyMojo. 12. There are many shows that make it to our favorite list but some characters ruin the show for the audience. We love the storyline and are thrilled for the release of the next season but we aren’t happy about some characters that appear in the show. These characters don’t have depth, or their dialogues aren’t well researched or their acting is just beyond our understanding. We watch these shows but we could totally do without these characters. So, here’s a list of five characters from popular Hindi shows who were annoying AF- Tamanna in Bandish Bandits Bandish Bandits starred Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhry, and Naseeruddin Shah. The show revolves around Radhe played by Ritwik who is a singing prodigy determined to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. Tamanna played by Shreya is a rising pop sensation desperate to become India's first international pop star. However, the series was very well received by the audience and the lead actor’s performance was praised. Tamanna’s character in the series was phony and immature which often made it difficult for us to concentrate on the good part. Umang Singh in Four More Shots Please Umang Singh is played by Bani J and she plays the role of a lesbian who is trying to find herself. However, her dialogue delivery is extremely off in the show and her acting skills should also have been better. Samar Pratap Singh in Tandav This is a political thriller series and the role of Samar Pratap Singh is played by Saif Ali Khan and he acted extremely well in the show. However, the character, in general, has very few likable qualities and at times makes us question his decisions. Anmol Malhotra in Mismatched The character, Anmol Malhotra, can be seen using a wheelchair, in a series that is not primarily on disability. Against the usual practice of including disabled characters only in films that have an underlying theme on disability, this romantic drama features Anmol Malhotra as one of the supporting characters, without over-emphasizing his disability. Ayesha in Bombay Begums This Indian drama web series was created by Alankrita Shrivastava. Ayesha plays the role of a bisexual and belongs to Indore and is new in Mumbai. The series explores drug abuse, blackmail, broken dreams, and aspirations of these characters. However, she is just going with the flow and often messes up most of the things. View the full article

  14. Regardless of whatever the critics have to say, the fact remains that the Indian cricket team has been very, very good with Ravi Shastri as the head coach. From T20Is to the longest format of the game, the former skipper has seen his squad achieve some exceptional feats under his tutelage. Case in point, the iconic Indian tour of Australia and arguably the best Test series win in the history of the game. As Ravi Shastri turns 59, here are 5 times his candid nature made Team India fans fall in love with him: 1. Goti Muh Mein Tha Come on. You know we had to start off with this. We know you were already thinking about this moment. During India’s tour of Australia back in December 2018, the Men in Blue were frustrated with the lower-order resistance shown by the hosts during the first match at Adelaide and according to Shastri, the fear of an unexpected defeat at the hands of “batsman” Josh Hazlewood had begun to creep up in their minds, although, in the end, Ravichandran Ashwin was able to take his wicket. However, the way Shastri admitted being coiled in nervousness during the final moments of the match became immortalised when he said, “Sach bole to Goti muh mein tha (To be honest, we almost had balls in our mouth),” during the post-match presentation. 2. Tracer BulletNo matter how great of a head coach Ravi Shastri already is and regardless of how many more achievements he will go on to earn at this position, what people can’t argue with is the fact that he will always remain an even better commentator. His trademark “Like a tracer bullet,” compliment must feel like every batsman’s dream and not everyone can mimic what the Mumbai-born started. 3. Bhaad Mein Gaya Pitch In an era when the pitch report has become an extremely important point of discussion when it comes to the success or failure of a squad *looking at you, Michael Vaughan* Ravi Shastri said ‘screw this’ and was absolutely thrilled when his boys dominated the South Africans 3-0 despite having favourable turf for the touring side. “Our motto was to take pitches out of the equation. ‘Bhaad me gaya pitch’ (to hell with the pitches). Whether it’s Johannesburg or Melbourne or Mumbai, we want to take the pitch out of the equation. With the batting line-up we have, if they post big totals and then we have bowlers who can take 20 wickets – we can keep taking those world championship points we’re after. Rahane was never going to go anywhere, he had to rediscover his touch which he’s done,” Ravi Shastri told Star Sports after the match. 4. Have A Drink On My Name.@RaviShastriOfc reacts to his memes doing the rounds #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/pNvZxKgUmM — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) March 7, 2021 Following India’s dominating series win against the touring England cricket team in a four-Test clash, the former Indian skipper got in front of the camera for an online interview and addressed the numerous social media posts that revolve around him and his fondness for alcoholic beverages. "It's banter all the way. They do it to have fun. It's at my expense, but it's okay," Ravi Shastri said in the post-match press conference the day after his Men in Blue thrashed Joe Root and CO. in just two and a half days to win the series at the newly inaugurated Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. "Have a drink on my name. When you post those kinds of things, so many people have a laugh," the India coach said. "Enjoy, it doesn't affect me.” 5. The Audi 100 Winning the Audi 100 continues to be one of the greatest prized possessions in Ravi Shastri's trophy room and the legendary all-rounder says that he still gets goosebumps thinking about the moment he earned this award, especially against some tough competition in Pakistan’s Javed Miandad. He won it in 1985 after beating Pakistan and had said that Miandad "had no chance of getting the Audi," but the Pakistan captain "had to needle" him so that he "would get distracted." The car is still with him and is in pristine condition. View the full article
  15. Had Twitter been banned in India this week, the one thing that most of us would have definitely missed the most would have been the witty tweets that we get to see from the Mumbai Police. © BCCL They legit have their social media game on point There have been countless instances when they have set Indian twitter on fire, all thanks to their smart and downright witty tweets. © Twitter/MumbaiPolice People think that they can troll Mumbai Police’s Social Media team. Well, such people have been served a brilliant lesson today, on how trolling Mumbai Police might backfire on them. A Twitter user who goes by the name Sunny Pandey asked Mumbai Police if he could step outside as his name is "Sunny." Sir, my name is Sunny. Can I go outside? — Sunny Pandey (@sunnyspandey May 23, 2021 Mumbai Police then gave a great, astronomically epic reply. We really have to commend the social media team's ability for word-play. This is one social media handle that’s absolutely worth following. The Mumbai Police Twitter handle certainly is turning out to be one of the best meme accounts on Indian Twitter. More importantly, though, they have been doing a really great job in convincing people to stay inside their homes and follow lockdown protocols. © BCCL All this, while giving us some really hearty laughs and chuckles. India is currently facing the wrath of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing people to stay at home at a time when the rest of the world is finally slowly returning to normalcy. © iStock © iStock Now, while the authorities have been responsible for lapses in containing the virus, it is also true that the Indian public has not abided by Covid-related protocol that has been suggested by doctors and health experts ever since the pandemic began. © iStock Whether it is keeping a safe distance between people, properly wearing one's mask, or not using make-belief Covid cures or remedies like cow urine, cow dung, or mustard oil, some countrymen refuse to listen to health care experts, meaning that it will still take us some time to get past the pandemic. Now, in another bizarre instance, a Sadhu in India could be seen wearing a mask made out of neem and Tulsi leaves. "Neem is very useful for any illness," he could be heard saying in the video. While talking about the mask, he said that apart from neem and tulsi leaves, one can also add lemon leaves to the mask in order to protect themselves from Covid. While Neem is indeed used to treat many health conditions, there is no scientific evidence behind it being successful in containing the Covid-19 virus. 17. Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi asking for a ban on the upcoming release of ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’. For the uninitiated, Krafton is relaunching an India iteration of PUBG Mobile with no ties to Chinese gaming company Tencent next month which has already drawn scepticisms from key stake holders. So much so, Krafton itself has asked content creators not to refer to ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ as PUBG Mobile in fear of getting banned again. © Facebook/Paras Singh However, multiple politicians are already asking the Indian Government to take action against the game for valid privacy and national security reasons. Now, Paras Singh, an YouTuber who has a channel by the name “Paras Official” has been charged for racist remarks against Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering. He posted a video on Sunday where he called Congress MLA Ninong Ering a "non-Indian" and apparently claimed the "state was a part of China.” Singh made comments reacting to the letter by Mr Ering who sought a ban on the upcoming Battle Royale game. Singh said in a now deleted video “Mujhe to nahi lagtha yeh (Ering) Indian hai (I don’t think he is an Indian)” while pointing out at the MLA’s profile picture on Twitter. The content creator then asked his viewers to check if Ering looked Indian and then proceeded to search for Arunachal Pradesh on a map. He then addedd, “Arre yaar yeh (Arunachal) to China ki side me hai (guys this is on China’s side)” and adds, “yeh China walon ka hi hai (It belongs to the people of China)” before saying “ek tarah se unhi k saath hi hai halka fulka touch hota hai, India me aata hai (in a way they are with them, (Arunachal is with China), touches India a little).” © Twitter/Ninong Ering While speaking to EastMojo, Ering said the comments made by Singh have not hurt him personally. He also added that “he is free to point out mistakes if any, but the racist remarks are serious and something which needs re-thinking.” The Arunachal Pradesh government has now filed a case against Singh for his racial remarks against the MLA. "A case has been registered against Paras for racial hatred and the cybercrime branch in Itanagar is investigating the matter," DGP R P Upadhyaya said. Chief Minister Pema Khandu condemned the racial slur on Twitter and said that the "video aims at inciting ill will and hatred towards the people of Arunachal Pradesh.” Singh has now posted a new video apologising for his comments. 18. If Ranveer Singh is left in a room full of fashionable people, we are certain his style statement would still stand out. The man knows his fashion game just right. Mostly seen wearing quirky, flamboyant outfits, Ranveer's sense of style demands all the attention. From the time he wore denim curtains to his overly long boots, he makes it pretty clear that he doesn't like to play it safe in the fashion department. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani There are very rare instances when Singh is seen in basic outfits. Even during these times, he still makes an eccentric statement. A perfect example to describe this would be his latest appearance. He was seen at the Mumbai airport with his wife, Deepika Padukone, who had tested positive a couple of weeks ago. The actress has now recovered and they were both seen heading home. In the midst of this, we couldn't help but gaze at Ranveer's ensemble. © Viral Bhayani © Dsquared2 © Dsquared2 Ranveer usually goes overboard with his accessories. For this look as well, he was seen with a black cap by Dsquared2, along with black squared sunglasses, camouflage mask by Balenciaga with another printed mask. The shiny neckpiece too cannot be ignored. © Farfetch Coming to his T-shirt, he is wearing a Fear Of Gods Essentials T-shirt. Last year, we spotted several B-town celebrities in several silhouettes by this brand. This piece in particular is worth almost Rs. 18,000. We also like the way Ranveer has paired it with black joggers by Adidas. It adds to the athleisure look he is trying to pull off here. © Dior The pièce de résistance here are definitely the sneakers. These are Dior's B23 High Top Sneaker in White Black Dior Oblique Canvas. The pair comes with comfortable lacing and rounded toe with a back tab reminiscent of the classic high-top style. Furthermore, it has transparent panelling that looks like plastic over Dior's signature on the side. © Dior As for the price of this pair, it retails for about $1,150 or roughly Rs 83,840 as seen on Dior's official website. Considering the innumerable times we have seen Ranveer wear sky-high priced sneakers, these aren't that expensive but they are not affordable for us. © Viral Bhayani Not just the shoes, but other elements from this outfit are equally outstanding. This is a job that only Ranveer can hit out of the park. Way to go, Baba. This is quite a bold move, we would say. View the full article

  21. People say money can’t buy happiness. Sure, but it sure can buy you some pretty weird stuff. Just look at some of the things that fans have bought at auctions and from e-bay to add to their personal collections. © iStock Auctions can get pretty weird at times, for they tend to target a very niche audience. With that being said, some of the pieces that have been auctioned, genuinely baffle the mind, especially whenever there is a celebrity involved. © Reuters Here are 6 super weird items that were sold at auctions, which will make you scratch your heads and ask, just how weird can fans get: 1. Britney Spears’ Chewed Gum - $14,000 © AFP Yup, a piece of chewing gum that pop star Britney Spears once chewed and spat, was sold for $14,000 on eBay. We’re just wondering who was it who picked it up and put it up on eBay. Moreover, who bought it, and why? 2. Scarlett Johansson’s Used Tissues - $5,300 © NBC We get why Scarlett Johansson has such a huge fan following. What we don’t get, is why would someone buy tissues that were used by her. Apparently, a couple of tissues on which she had blown her nose, sold for $5,300, again, on eBay. 3. Violin Case Front The Titanic For $1.2 Million © National Geographic Okay, this might be weird for some, but not for people who are into naval history, especially sunken ships. A violin case from the famous Titanic ship was once auctioned for more than a million dollars. Not much is known publicly about the case, as in who did it belong to, or where’s the violin. The auctioneer was requested to not disclose the details by the private buyer. 4. A Jar Containing The Air Brad Pitt Had Breathed Out - $340 © Reuters Seriously, don’t even ask us the logic behind this. Someone apparently, “trapped” a breath of air that Brad Pitt exhaled, in a jar. And someone actually bought it in an eBay auction, for $340. If you ask us, that’s $339 more than what it should be worth. 5. Justin Timberlake’s Half-Eaten French Toast - $3154 © AFP During a morning radio interview at a popular radio station in LA, Justin Timberlake left a half-eaten french toast behind, after he was done with the interview. The RJ put the toast up on eBay as a prank, but to his surprise, someone actually bid on the piece. Eventually, the toast was sold to a fan for $3154. The proceeds from the sale went to a charity, but it is surprising, just what all people will actually buy from eBay. 6. The Undergarments Of Queen Elizabeth II - Price Unknown © AFP Yup, this happened. Why did it happen is as much a mystery to us, as it is to you. Apparently, it went for an unbelievably crazy figure, but no one knows for sure. What we do know, that it was first bought by an artist named Baron Joseph "Sepy" De Bicske Dobronyi, whose estate auctioned it off again, after his death. The Bottom Line… If you thought celebrities are crazy, then just imagine how crazy their fans can be. Seriously, I would like to meet the people who bought these, and again, what were they thinking? 22. When it comes to cricket and the massive egos it gives to the players, the gentleman’s game seems to lose its essence and gets reduced to cheap, personal attacks that do more harm than good to the reputations of their own and the other guy. Here are three times cricketers made personal attacks on each other amid millions of social media fans: 1. Salman Butt Vs Michael Vaughan:No idea what the headline is ... but I seen what Salman has said about me ... that’s fine and he is allowed his opinion but I wished he had such a clear thought of mind back in 2010 when he was Match fixing !!! https://t.co/EkDWuH7Vi4 — Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) May 16, 2021 Let’s start with the most topical rivalry, shall we? The banter (although, it has blown into something a lot bigger) started with a simple question - who is the better cricketer - Virat Kohli or Kane Williamson. Since then, Michael Vaughan has decided to go after Salman Butt’s 11-year-old match-fixing charges out of spite because the former Pakistani opener had called his take on this whole issue “irrelevant”. 2. Aakash Chopra Vs Sreesanth:Back in 2017, Aakash Chopra was asked on Facebook whether he thought Sreesanth should get the opportunity to make a comeback to the Indian team after being slapped with match-fixing allegations back in 2013. In the comments section of a post, Chopra said that “any cricketer who is willing to sell his country for personal gains” should not get another chance. @cricketaakash how can u be so 2 faced?? Bro?? Ashamed to even call u that ..really sad to know (what have u replied?? Really..I will play pic.twitter.com/r4Ervw5sox — Sreesanth (@sreesanth36) February 3, 2017I hope ur comments about desh drohi.....etc,also includes the other 13 people who was charged Nd the unopened envelope.. — Sreesanth (@sreesanth36) February 3, 2017To this, Sreesanth called Chopra “two-faced” in a Tweet and said that he was ashamed to call him a “bro”. 3. Ravichandran Ashwin Vs Herschelle GibbsBack in 2018, Ravichandran Ashwin was promoting a new pair of kicks through his social media account when South African legend Herschelle Gibbs tried to crack a joke on the Indian all-rounder’s infamously slow running on the field. Hopefully you will be able to run a bit faster now ashwin — Herschelle Gibbs (@hershybru) February 19, 2018 However, Ashwin, who was clearly stung by the comment, decided to make it personal and played the “match fixer” card on the Protea. © Twitter - Ravichandran Ashwin Ashwin would later delete this tweet and put forward an explanation for doing so: What’s sensitive to me isn’t to someone else, and what’s sensitive to you isn’t to me. I want to respect my family of fans and hence pulled the tweet down, and now entertainment over for all my haters.
