  1. There are kids, and then there are pure geniuses like 8-year-old Niall Thogulava from Chennai. Remember the time when cartoon shows, playing with friends 5 hours a day and coming home at the end of a school day used to be our biggest points of interest? Well, Niall is an example of how the generations, since ours, have evolved. This child prodigy from Southern India has portrayed exceptional talents when it comes to reading, writing and speaking hundreds of languages from around the world. Niall is an inspiring polyglot who can read and write as many as 106 languages! *WOAH* © NDTV How did he do it in such a short time of being around? Well, blame it on the internet (just like this year's CBSE 12th topper). Niall took the help of the internet, especially YouTube, to learn all the languages he has mastered today. As per an ANI report, Niall also knows the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), which allows one to transcribe the sound of any spoken language in order to ascertain its pronunciation. Niall told ANI, "I do not know how my interest in languages began. I can read and write over 106 languages and can fluently speak 10 languages. I am currently learning five new languages." © ANI Niall's father, Shankar Narayanan, is a proud man when he says, "Last year, he started developing an interest for new languages and from there he took a great leap. Making use of the internet, he started learning one language after another." Niall is proof that if you set your heart on something, and work hard to see it through, anything is possible and age is no bar for it.
  2. The Battle of Winterfell was brutal, however, the main characters came out unharmed (oh, well mostly). The trailer for the upcoming episode 4 shows Daenerys Targaryen addressing the crowd for a battle that matters: A war against Cersei Lannister, who could possibly be the real villain of 'Game of Thrones'. But from the new photos of Season 8 Episode 4, that released yesterday, Queen Cersei has quite a bit of manpower awaiting the dragon queen. Take a look: © HBO Besides Euron's Iron fleet and a handful of the Lannister Army, Qyburn's shady science experiments including the dragon killer army, there is now the Golden Company sans elephants, of course, and there are ships full of men waiting to wage a war. In 'A Song Of Ice and Fire' novels, the Golden Company is a mercenary army from Essos and is made up of 20,000 men, horses, and potentially elephants. (The elephants couldn't make it, sadly. Nonetheless, the army is a major force to be reckoned with.) Now, with the already exhausted and steadily depleting army of the Dragon Queen, Cersei's army will be... ahem quite a heavy wrecking ball to deal with. © HBO The Golden Company has been mentioned a couple of times on 'GoT'. In Season 4, Ser Davos suggests Stannis hire the Golden Army. In season 7, Euron went off to hire "the most powerful army in Essos" to help Cersei keep the Iron Throne and it appears they've finally arrived. So, who do you think is going to win the war that matters?
  3. It's been 10 years since 'Game Of Thrones' has been building up to the battle with the 'White Walkers' from the very first episode of the series. It's been 8 seasons now and we finally got to see the battle everybody had been waiting for. 'The Long Night', aired yesterday and even though it was a directorial marvel for a TV show, it was lacking in almost every way. Many fans of the show were left disappointed simply because logic and story arcs didn't add up. If you haven't watched the episode, this post contains spoilers, so avoid reading further. Currently, the third episode of Season 8 sits at 74% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the third lowest rated episode in the show's history. Here's why we feel the 'Battle of Winterfell' was disappointing. There are plenty of plot-holes and some scenes defy logic based on what was set up in the very same episode. Here's our deep analysis: 1. The Night King's Death © HBO If you've seen the episode, you already know that Arya kills the Night King with her Valyrian “CatsPaw” dagger. Just to make it clear, Arya killing the Night King was a true badass moment and is a great example of women empowerment in movies and TV shows. In fact, many other franchises could learn a thing or two from this particular episode. Our problem has nothing to do with who killed the Night King, its to do with how Arya got there in the first place. Just a few minutes ago, Arya was involved in a stealth scene hiding from Wights by hiding behind bookshelves and under a table. In the scene, the wights could hear her blood drops hitting the floor and could find the source of the sound. A few scenes later, are you trying to tell us that a horde of silent wights and white walkers could not detect Arya jumping 30 feet to kill the nightwalker? They could not hear Arya sneaking around in the bushes or the snow? Considering that a few moments ago they could hear blood drops but not her sneaking around in the middle of all the White Walkers? You could say that she's been trained by the “Faceless Man” and may have acquired some mind-blowing stealth tricks, but the scene prior to that totally negates her abilities. 2. This Is 'Game Of Thrones', Not a Disney Movie © HBO The one thing that made 'Game Of Thrones' special was its ability to be bold, daring and risky when it came to killing off characters. The show has unexpected moments where it doesn't fear killing off key characters in the most brutal manner. That's what sets 'GOT' apart from other fantasy franchises. In 'The Long Night', possibly the biggest and most brutal battle in the show's history, almost every named character survives. From 60,000 souls defending Winterfell, only Jorah Mormont, Berric Dondorrian, Lyanna Mormont, Edd and Melisandre died? Are you kidding me? (c) HBO If there were at least double the deaths, this would classify as a classic 'GOT' episode. However, HBO opted to play safe and made sure almost all the main characters survive. This isn't a Disney movie, this is 'Game Of Thrones'. What defies logic is that Jorah Mormont, a skilled knight who defended himself from every Wight that came his way till the very end; died, but someone like Sam Tarly who was literally flat on his butt for the entirety of the episode survived? What were the show-runners smoking? Where is the logic? Where are the loremasters when you need them? Is this a result of simply rushing the TV show and playing it safe at the same time? © HBO We all know White Walkers have taken inspiration from just about every Zombie movie, TV show and book possible. We were expecting some of our favourite characters turn into a wight; which never happened. We expected one of the characters witnessing their loved one die and convert right in front of them and having to kill them. It would have been a very emotional moment but we never got to see that. It's the simplest trope you get to see in every Zombie movie but HBO never ventured that far. 3. There Was No Tactical Strategy © HBO In the history of warfare, when you are defending a siege, you do not break the line and send out the cavalry to sacrifice themselves in the battlefield. It seems like HBO probably did not use any warfare advisors for this episode as it's simply not logical to send out the cavalry to test your opponents. It's suicide and we got to see the very same thing happen in this episode. In 'The Long Night', the Dothraki were ordered to charge at the incoming onslaught. This move is called 'Custer' but generally ends up in major losses. 'GOT' could have taken a cue from other movies that have dealt with similar scenarios. For example, movies like 'Braveheart', 'LOTR', 'Kingdom of Heaven', and countless others all have similar scenarios where they defend a position and these movies depicted battles as accurately as possible. Hell, even in the 'Battle of Bastards' it was pointed out that charging at an enemy that outnumbers you is suicide. Seriously, I'm done. 4. There Was Nothing Long About This Night A TV series that has literally spent an entire season to kill major characters ended the most anticipated battle in just 82 minutes? I mean if 'The Long Night' is depicted in just 82 minutes then we need to re-define what 'long' really means. This was a battle that has been anticipated from the very first episode of the show and all we got was a disappointing end to the battle. HBO should have spent more time to depict one of the most epic battles in the show's history and not concluded the battle in just one episode. We wanted to see some epic fights, some emotional scenes and some shocking moments. We got to see none of that and many fans simply reacted to the episode with “meh.” 5. We Couldn't See A Thing #GameofThrones s8e3 spoiler without context pic.twitter.com/lw3ipGS4Zi — 9GAG (@9GAG) April 29, 2019 In the post-episode interview, the show-runners said that they wanted a realistic feel to the episode where everything was dark. What baffles me is that there's literally nothing real about 'GOT'. It's a fantasy fiction show where we deal with dragons, zombies, incest and whatever else you can think of. We wanted to see an epic battle depicting one of the most defining moments of TV history. There was no need for keeping the entire environment dark when you could simply represent it in many other ways. 'LOTR' did it in the "battle of Gondor", 'Avengers: Endgame' did it effectively in their final battle; then what was the need for keeping everything dark? A Redditor claims that HBO simply used this tactic to hide special effects. In fact, this episode probably didn't have enough extras to show off a horde of 100,000 wights. I mean why wouldn't you show off one of the greatest armies assembled in the history of TV? Why would you hide a majority of your special effects unless something is really wrong? Unless someone forgot to bring a lighting rig, I can't think of any other excuse for this goof up.
  4. First things first, 'Avengers: Endgame' is an absolute masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, this plothole I'm going to talk about doesn't make the movie any less amazing. In fact, I didn't even notice it till I watched it for the second time. No one did. I guess we were all just blown away by the epicness of it all. But, once the dust settles, and I could think clearly about everything I had just witnessed, there was only one question that popped into my head. Be warned, there are SPOILERS AHEAD! If you are part of the select few who haven't watched 'Avengers: Endgame' yet and want to go into it without any spoilers, STOP READING right here! Don't say you weren't warned. Don't go crying in the comments about how I ruined your experience by giving out spoilers. You're the idiot if you keep on reading from here on out without watching the movie. © Marvel Studios Okay, now that the spoiler alert is out of the way, let's get right to it. The two main characters get very different endings. One, Iron Man, gets to save everyone and finally rest while, the other, Captain America gets his happy albeit kind of selfish ending. Iron Man's journey has come full circle from the events of 'The Avengers.' All he wanted to do from the first Iron Man movie onwards was save the world and he finally did it. He lost his life in the process and that's just one of the reasons it is a huge sacrifice. He also gave up his perfect life (with Pepper and Morgan) so that everyone else who had lost their loved ones could get another chance at happiness. The perfect story arc for his character who started off as selfish and arrogant. © Marvel Studios As for Captain America, he has always been the selfless hero who puts everyone else ahead of himself. His own needs are always secondary and every single decision he takes is for the greater good. He is infallible in that sense and is everything a hero and the leader of the Avengers should stand for. So, you could forgive him for being selfish for once and choosing to stay in the past with Peggy Carter after returning all the Infinity Stones. No complaints here either. But then, old Captain America shows up on the bench where Bucky, Sam and Professor Hulk are waiting for him to return through the Quantum tunnel. At first, you enjoy this scene with Bucky's knowing smile and Sam's shocked expression when Cap passes his shield to him. Then you see Cap getting his dance with Peggy and the movie ends on the perfect note. The first Avenger is also the last one you see on screen. Can't see anything wrong with these scenes, can you? Well, there is one problem. How the hell did old Captain America end up on that bench? Answer this question and I will be forever grateful. © Marvel Studios The answer is not simple. Let me break it down into multiple reasons supporting this ending and why they aren't possible: The Rules Of Time Travel Every movie uses what it considers it's own rules for time travel. 'Avengers: Endgame' did the same thing. The rules are simple. Time is relative. So, if you go into the past and change something, your present won't change. You will be creating an alternate timeline. The past will become your future, your present will become your past which can't be changed by the new future you're creating, as Professor Hulk eloquently puts it. © Marvel Studios The Ancient One adds to this saying that when you remove a single Infinity Stone from a particular timeline, you create an alternate timeline where that stone ceases to exist. Professor Hulk has a solution for this. Return every single Infinity Stone to the exact time they took it for. That makes sense and that's where Captain America's final mission leads him. To return every Infinity Stone to the exact moment in time they took them from. If he just showed up on the Quantum tunnel at the end of the movie as Old Captain America, things would have been fine. Captain America Gets Benched It's safe to assume that Captain America is proficient enough to return every Infinity Stone to the right time and place. After that, he decides to live out his life with Peggy Carter. Basically, take the long road to the future. But, how would a timeline where there are two Captain Americas suddenly merge at the end, where he shows up on the bench in the original timeline? It's just not possible. © Marvel Studios If they let him live his life with Peggy Carter in a world where he dismantles Hydra before it infiltrates SHIELD, rescues Bucky before he can cause so much damage, helps the Avengers defeat Loki and take down Thanos, while still leading a happy life with Peggy, I would have been satisfied. But, he shows up on the stupid bench and ruins this theory. Captain America Has Mastered Time Travel Here's another one. Captain America has become a master at time travel. He makes sure he stays with Peggy Carter but lives a very reserved life without impacting any of the major events that take place in the world since he knows there's another Captain America out there handling stuff. The first problem with this is that Captain America, the bravest and purest Avenger would have to sit back while Hydra infiltrates SHIELD, Bucky dismantles governments and murders Tony's parents among others and all the other gruesome things that take place in the main timeline without doing anything. That's not the Captain America we all know and love. © Marvel Studios But, even if he does manage to do that, there's another problem with this theory. Even the smallest of changes could have a huge impact on the timeline and hence create an alternate one. For example, he still has to eat. That's food that would have otherwise gone to someone else. All the food he has eaten over 70-80 years. That's enough to create a new timeline. Time travel isn't as simple as you'd think. The One That Might Just Be True Here's the last one. It's the most plausible of the lot. Still pretty unbelievable. But, it could be true. So, Cap returns all the Infinity stones and then lives his life with Peggy Carter. Once he's done with that life, he takes out the Quantum time travel device Tony Stark created and uses it to travel back to the main timeline with his shield. But, instead of showing up on the new Quantum tunnel he shows up near it. © Marvel Studios He then walks to the place he remembers his friends were waiting for and sits on that bench. That's when everyone sees him and everything else happens as we see at the end of the movie. Although highly implausible, this is the only thing that makes sense. Is there any other explanation? Please help me! I'm losing my mind…
  5. We're almost at the finish line. 'Avengers: Endgame' is so close and yet so far. The movie will be the final movie, the culmination of 11 years and 22 movies, and I don't even need to tell anyone how emotional it is to possibly saying goodbye to a lot of characters. The actors themselves have come a long way and have actually made what Marvel Cinematic Universe is today. So, as a way of remembering all the movies and showing some more appreciation for Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johannson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner, here are all the OG Avengers through the years, from their first Marvel premiere to probably their last. 6. Amidst the madness of the Indian Premier League (IPL) taking over a country of cricket-crazy people, news of the Indian squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup being announced about a week from today, has caught people's attention. According to a Times of India report, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Indian skipper Virat Kohli have made plans to meet next Monday in Mumbai to sit and pick a roster that will represent the country in the tournament starting 30th May. Rohit Sharma believes that the final team will only be selected once the thoughts and ideas of Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri have been taken into consideration by the Board. “I think we are pretty much settled. There are a few spots (undecided) which everyone knows about but again that depends on what the captain and the coach and the selectors think whether they want to go for the extra seamer or the extra spinner or extra middle order player or a reserve opener. “It also depends upon the conditions. The last time we were in England, the conditions were quite dry. I don't know how things will be. So if it is like that, then you take an extra spinner, as simple as that. If it's not then probably take the extra seamer,” the 'Hitman' said in Mumbai. The last portion from Sharma's quote is worth paying some heed to. It is well established that the fourth spot in the team is the most uncertain position. While currently in the hands of former allrounder Ambati Rayudu, it is highly probable that the Guntur-born will be asked to give it up, considering his below average performance against Australia in the ODI and T20I series last month (and let's not even talk about his IPL journey so far). Basing the argument on Sharma's take, if the conditions in England and Wales consists of heavy moisture, the number four spot could go a batting allrounder like Vijay Shankar who usually goes to the pitch as the fifth batsman and somebody like Hardik Pandya can be inserted in the fifth slot. Alternatively, Dinesh Karthik becomes an ideal candidate for number four adding to the powerful middle order batting line up with Pandya taking away Shankar's place from the roster. On the other hand, if the weather conditions continue to remain dry like the last time Men in Blue had visited England, bowling allrounder, Kedar Jadhav becomes one of the foremost picks for Kohli. Also, if the captain and the coach really want to try something that they haven't in the last two years, bringing back Ravichandran Ashwin does not appear to be a bad thought either. While positions for batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, and bowlers like Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah can be considered to be a confirmed lock, the spots for allrounders are what will be a major part of the discussion between Kohli and the BCCI on Monday.
  7. “Work hard in silence. Let your success be your noise,” a statement once given by Frank Ocean is completely justified by the English all-rounder, Sam Curran. As a budding cricketer in his school days, Curran had an opportunity to meet his idol Chris Gayle, and now, when he is 20-years-old, he has earned his opportunity to share the dressing room with the Gayle Storm. Recently, Gayle shared a collage of two pictures (then and now) in which on one side, he is seen posing with a young Curran dressed in his school uniform, and on the other, on the right, the latest photo with the 20-year-old all-rounder in his Kings XI Punjab jersey. View this post on Instagram This is a special moment for any youngster! All I can say is remember what get you where you at today, @samcurran58 #DreamBigger #GetStronger #BrightFuture #Multitalented - I think in the pic I'm looking young but you're looking younger ð𤣠#Kings ðªð¿ A post shared by KingGayle ð (@chrisgayle333) on Apr 4, 2019 at 10:39am PDT “This is a special moment for any youngster! All I can say is remember what got you where you at today. I think in the pic I'm looking young but you're looking younger,” Gayle wrote. Even Curran replied saying: “Thank you Legend @chrisgayle333 excited for the season ahead playing and learning from you.” Talking of form, both batsmen have been in sublime form in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL). On one hand, where Gayle has consistently been providing a good start to KXIP, Curran on the other, has been crowned as the youngest player ever to take a hat-trick in the league. We hope we see the youngster and his idol play together in the next match when the team goes face to face with the defending kings of the IPL trophy, Chennai Super Kings, on 6th April.
  8. Another account of cultural and religious hate based on pure ignorance surfaced, when Instagram comedian Jess Hilarious, aka Jessica Moore boasted about how she allegedly got 4 turbaned Sikh men 'kicked off' a plane because she felt 'threatened' by their presence. (c)Twitter The comedienne was rightfully slammed for her Islamophobic comments by lots of people on Twitter and a compilation of the comments she made, was posted on Twitter by activist Simran Jeet Singh. Take a look: Four innocent Sikhs were kicked off a plane today because this woman was scared of how they looked. Please watch and share this video to understand how hate hurts us all. (see thread below for more info on the Sikh religion and identity) pic.twitter.com/xg8vSfgsYm — Simran Jeet Singh (@SikhProf) 17 March 2019 After the video was out, a bunch of people took to Twitter to verbally bash her hatred and absolutely ignorant and racist rant. Hi @jess_hilarious, I hear that you're fearful of people who look like me. Let me know if you ever want to chat. I'm happy to show you we're normal(ish) people and that you have nothing to fear. peace, a sikh https://t.co/RTmwziDeO5 — Simran Jeet Singh (@SikhProf) 18 March 2019 I thought I'd reshare this after @jess_hilarious managed to get 4 Sikhs off of a plane because she confused them with Muslims. I think it's disgusting that she would not only do this, but share that she did this and then think it was something we'd find funny after recent events. https://t.co/2VChRhI7BB — Kat Blaque (@kat_blaque) 17 March 2019 It's really hurtful that some people see turbans and view that as something to be afraid of. Sikhs wear the turban/have long hair as a way to be publicly identified as in service to others. The idea is if you see someone in a turban, you'd know you could go up and ask for help. — Aditi Juneja (@AditiJuneja3) 17 March 2019 The fact that Jess hilarious thinks it's funny to be 'threatened' by 4 Sikh people entering the plane because she thought they were Muslim and bragging about them being kicked out after the New Zealand incident is disgusting. pic.twitter.com/LjBxSyuB5T — yas (@Adoomies1) 17 March 2019 Jess Hilarious' anti-Muslim rhetoric sheds light on a very important topic; Islamophobia within the black Christian community — dylan (@dylanthegypsy) 17 March 2019 4 innocent Sikh passengers kicked off a plane cos celebrity @jess_hilarious was uncomfortable with their APPEARANCE What a shame Airline company acceded to her request! The airline should have drop kicked her ass off the plane. https://t.co/Z7fySepfDn — rolandsmartin (@rolandsmartin) 18 March 2019 So while we mourn 50 Muslims who were gunned down in New Zealand and Muslims face Islamophobic harassment across the country on the streets and online, Jess Hilarious targets 4 Sikh men for wearing turbans and gets the removed from flight because she's afraid of Muslims. — Margari Aziza (@Margari_Aziza) 17 March 2019 When she was slammed with rhetoric hate comments about her behaviour towards 4 Sikh men, the woman went on a rant over a video cussing people who were speaking up against her. She justified her actions saying “F*** y'all, I feel how I feel. I felt threatened and that was it. F*** y'all." (c)Twitter This probably isn't the first time Sikhs have faced racist hate all over America. Post 9/11, there were attacks on the Sikh community as they were misunderstood for radical Islam fundamentalists. But the fact that 9/11 was 18 years ago and yet people live in absolute ignorance is quite sad TBH. There are some latent lessons due about how not all Muslims are terrorists and how the Sikh community is not religiously fanatic or a threat, to have them evacuated from an airplane! But because she probably thrives on irrational content that she assumes is funny. She thought she could take a dig at calling someone out as a threat just for fun, and she'd get away with it. Well, that's not how it works sista! (c)Twitter Moore did post a video on her Instgaram handle apologising for her behaviour but you know, sometimes an apology doesn't really hold any merit, once the damage is done. Here, take a look at it anyway: Please don't believe everything you see and hear, this is what it really is. A post shared by Jess Moore (@jesshilarious_official) on Mar 18, 2019 at 7:27pm PDT The woman has also offered to donate $15,000 to the victims of the New Zealand tragedy. Well, that's great Jess, but maybe it's time to get schooled again for your lack of knowledge! Jess Hilarious is blatantly ignorant lmao, first off those were Sikhs on the plane and besides, had they been Muslims why would you behave that way despite having Muslims in your family? ð¤¦ð»‍âï¸ pic.twitter.com/0GOMnSo8b7 — Too $hort (@sukhisofly) 17 March 2019 All we can say is that Jess Hilarious is not really hilarious after all and we hope her ignorance doesn't get her into any more trouble!
  9. The Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week just started at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, and Suket Dhir's collection was the highlight, when it comes to menswear. The collection was all about minimalistic layering silhouettes made out of delicate 'Jaamdani' weave, with a contemporary aesthetic. 10. In the aftermath of one of the worst terror attacks on Indian soil, where over 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in Pulwama, the Indian Air Force (IAF) launched pre-dawn airstrikes on Pakistan-based terror camps of Jaish-e-Mohammad, which was responsible for the attack on the CRPF convoy. India's Foreign Secretary, Vijay Gokhale confirmed the airstrikes by the IAF in a press briefing, "in the early hours of Tuesday, India struck the biggest training camp of JeM in Balakot." Twitter (For Representation) He further said, "In this operation, a very large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and groups of jihadis who were being trained for fidayeen action were eliminated." The airstrike took place around 3:30 AM and 12 Mirage 2,000 fighter jets were used for the attack, and 1,000 kg laser-guided bombs were dropped on the terror camps, completely destroying them, according to reports. Twitter (For Representation) Hours after the attack, people began flooding the social media with their reactions on the airstrikes that reportedly neutralised over 300 terrorists. The official account of the Indian Army tweeted a poem. 11. One of the first prerequisites to date someone successfully is seeing how you're first date ever went with them to give them a second chance! That's how dating life get's a lifeline if you don't screw up on the first date or avoid a 'red flag' situation; then there is a bright chance for you to be a part of the second date. (c)Thinkstock/Getty Images So, in order to have the 'perfect' first date, here are 5 prominent red flags you can and should avoid and get to see the girl you really like for the second date! (1) Don't Act Miserly It's a date for heaven's sake, not a night out with the boys! So, if you do get the bill and you're splitting it, don't become a miser for the last rupee she may have left! What I mean is stop splitting the bill to the T and making sure she pays every penny of the split. Offer to pay and if she wants to go dutch just let her decide how she would like to. Either by paying cash or splitting the amount on the debit card is her call and you don't have to do severe math and waste time on the bill! (c)Pintrest (2) Do Not Treat The Wait Staff Like Shit If you're out and about and don't show any decency to the support staff at restaurants and hotels then you're in for trouble my friend. Let me tell you, the biggest red flag is unkindness and if you act like an entitled man where you shouldn't be acting like one, she's definitely going to strike you out. Women determine a man's character by the way he holds a conversation with other people as well. So, if you treat someone poorly, she's going to show you the door! (c)Pintrest (3) Don't Force Anything Women have a mind of their own and they like to speak it whenever necessary. So, there isn't a point in you telling her what to do or how to do it really. In fact that's a big turn off. Of course decide the evening unanimously, I am not saying let her take charge of the evening but steer clear of the things she rather not like you do. Understand consent and what it really means before taking any steps forward. If she doesn't want to come back home with you or invite you to hers, don't force her to do the same, it'll really not go down well. Have fun on your first date, don't dictate terms or be forceful. (c)Thinkstock/Getty Images (4) Keep A Check On Your Alcohol Intake First dates are markers for the second date. It's a good time to realise for both you and her whether or not you'd like a second date. So, it's best to keep your inhibitions in check and maybe not splurge on alcohol and get absolutely wasted. I mean if that's the plan to have some unadulterated fun, then go ahead but if you really want to get to know her and remember it the next day, it's wise to hold your drink. If both of you decide to get wasted then I guess that makes for a successful good first date too! (c)Pintrest (5) Misogyny Is Never Welcomed Misogyny could come under any form. You describing your ex in bad taste, you generalising other women, showing off about your work and putting others down, it takes all forms and shapes and more often than not we don't realise when we're being misogynists because of our conditioning. So it will be good if you're mindful of how you structure your words during a conversation with her. Even saying something as simple as ' you're not like the other women' can be termed as misogynistic. You may not realise it and you may think you're praising her but in reality you're insulting all the other women. Honestly, it's offensive to say the least. Give her more prominent compliments and keep the misogynistic comments in check! (c)Pintrest There are other red flags such as bad grooming and table manners, lack of confidence etc. but these 5 are very prominent because they tell a woman a lot about your conditioning as a man and talk more about your basic inherent mannerisms. A girl does judge a man by the most basic and fundamental manners he may possess and if you have these all sorted, you're definitely a liable candidate for the second date!
  12. The Pulwama terror attack has shaken the entire nation but the ones most affected by the consequences are the ones who lost their loved ones in the attack. Over 40 CRPF jawans were martyred and while everyone can understand the magnitude of the loss, we cannot fathom the endurance that their families have to cope with the death of their lost loved one. © Twitter Major Vibhuti Dhoundiyal, who hailed from Dehradun, lost his life in a recent encounter with terrorists in Pulwama and his mortal remains were brought to his family in his hometown for cremation. It is not the full military honours that he got or the presence of his family that painted a painstaking picture, but the sheer courage that his wife showed to pay him a tribute before his heavenly abode, is what gave us goosebumps. #WATCH Wife of Major VS Dhoundiyal (who lost his life in an encounter in Pulwama yesterday) by his mortal remains. #Dehradun #Uttarakhand pic.twitter.com/5HWD6RXwnO — ANI (@ANI) February 19, 2019 Major Vibhuti's wife Nikita showed nerves of steel as she maintained her calm and whispered 'I love you' to him and gave him a flying kiss, while not shedding a single tear. The couple married last year in April 2018 and Major Vibhuti was bound to return home in April for their first anniversary. Before his remains were cremated, his wife bravely and proudly shouted 'Jain Hind' before breaking down as she cried 'I love you' to her brave husband. While these visuals will remain etched in our hearts for a long time, we can't help but wonder that we don't know what courage or real bravery is until we have seen someone display it as Nikita did. She is a woman of steel and will continue to inspire us with her undying spirit.
  13. In 2019, you should focus on being the best version of yourself. This means aggressively chasing your goals, asking out that crush of yours and most importantly, taking care of yourself. Here's the thing, looking good directly factors in feeling good. This means you should put significant effort into taking care of yourself. This will also help you stand out in a group of people who don't care for themselves. 1. Not Dismissing Manicure & Pedicure Sessions Traditionally, seen as something that only women care for. However, if you have nails that often end up looking like this. © Instagram They will not only drive away your crush but also come off as dirty to your fellow colleagues and boss, and the worst case scenario is that no one will be willing to share food with you during lunch. Now, before that happens, go for a manicure/pedicure session. You'll be surprised to discover the wonderful packages that exist out there. Some of them include massages and a completely calming session. You could even turn this into a date. © Instagram 2. Making The Concealer A Part Of Your Everyday Routine © Instagram The concealer is not a gendered product. Repeat this after me. A concealer is a blessing. We're talking about the racoon eyes that you get from partying all night, acne scars, huge pimples and the hickeys that you don't want to show to anyone else. It conceals everything with one stroke. You can easily steal it from your girlfriend's beauty kit or just simply ask her for it. Additionally, here's a list of other super helpful products you could steal from your girlfriend. © Instagram 3. Investing In A Skincare Routine © Instagram Try to consciously try to look after your skin. Now lathering a skin cream every now and then is not taking care of your skin. You need a regular and fixed routine in place with products curated that suit your skin type. For example, if you have dry skin, choose moisturizing cleansers and creams or if you have acne-prone skin go for anti-acne products. Also, you could make the whole routine fun with face sheet masks and that is literally no effort at all. © Instagram Even celebrities like Ansel Elgort vouch by fun face masks. For a good skin care routine, you ideally need a cleanser, a good moisturizer, essential oil and a weekly face mask and a scrub. 4. Always Carry A Pocket Mouth Wash Or Mints © Instagram Bad breath is imminent if you don't take care of your oral hygiene. Bad breath can be a big turn off at a date or off-putting at an office meeting. It's best to always have mints or a pocket mouth face wash handy. 5. Make Sure To Use A Roll-On After Shower © Instagram While taking regular showers is a good thing, it's also important to supplement it with a roll-on to make sure you don't have a case of body odour throughout the day.
  14. Folklore (and Bollywood) has always taught us that the royalty is good-looking. However, as we grew up, we realized that's not essentially true, and the fact that royal blood has nothing to do with good looks. So, whenever we come across someone from the royalty who fulfills that criteria, we can't help but be transported back to our childhood, where life is like a fairy tale. Jaiveerraj Singh Gohil, the Prince of Bhavnagar, sure is one of them, and the fact that a few people know about him, makes his existence even more alluring. 15. When life becomes dull, it's not easy to find your spunk and fight back. In order to succeed in life, one has to make it fun, positive, and full of motivation! If you find your life boring and unmotivated, you simply won't be able to make any progress. There are many reasons why you might not be feeling any enthusiasm in your life. And there are even more ways to overcome it. Following are 4 such reasons why you might not be feeling motivated and ways to overcome it: 1. Lack Of Purpose It's very important to have a goal, to have a purpose in life. Following it keeps you sane and sorted. If you don't have a purpose, you won't find any reason to move forward in life. Set a goal, fix a target! When you wake up, you should have a goal in your head, and if you are able to successfully create one, you'll be automatically motivated to achieve it. 2. Procrastination This is the worst thing you can do to yourself. When you start postponing your affairs & chores, your mind adapts to procrastination. You won't be doing any work on time and would always feel too tired and lethargic to do so. Procrastination kills the motivation to do anything. Luckily, it's not difficult to come out of this state. Remember two things – 'the 5-minute rule' & 'schedule'. Apply the 5-minute rule in your life. Whatever task can be done under 5 minutes, don't postpone it. Do it as soon as it comes to your mind. You will see a big change in your life by applying this small rule. Small chores will be done, your mind will be happy after completing a task, and slowly, it will start to procrastinate the procrastination. Next is, schedule. Fix a schedule and strictly follow it. Decide at what time you're going to wake up, have breakfast, leave for the office, and every other thing in your everyday life. Give some time for light exercise. Sticking to a schedule would make you punctual, as you would be completing all the tasks within the deadline and this would eventually push you to aim for higher goals. 3. Lack of Money Believe it or not but lack of money can also be de-motivating. If you have gotten accustomed to a lower salary or lower returns, then you won't need the feel to work hard. You would trick yourself into thinking that two square meals & a roof above your head are good enough for you. If that has happened to you, you should become a little materialistic. Set your eye on something, something out of your budget. Convince yourself that you should buy it. You'll see yourself wanting to work harder to be able to buy it. And you would have it eventually. When that happens and you get your motivation back, work smart. Set another milestone, and in your free time, look for other sources to earn. Pick a hobby and try to turn into a profession. You would not only be enjoying your time but would be utilizing it in the most perfect way. A little extra cash would be great for your savings account or for the latest Play Station. Leave the TV Shows and booze for the weekend. On weekdays, focus on improving your income. It is not that hard to find a hobby and become good enough in it that it starts paying you. You just need to be determined. 4. Social Circle Your social circle makes a huge impact on your life. If you surround yourself with positive & happy people, you would also feel happy and motivated. However, if your friends and colleagues are unmotivated and have negative opinions on everything, then this would impact you on a great level. Their constant criticism of the world would make you look at the world the same way. You would start finding fault in everything which would give your brain a great excuse to become slothful. This is when your motivation to do anything would die and you would just spend your time doing nothing. If this is happening to you, you need to get out of such a company. Join some activities like trekking, or dance classes, or yoga classes, basically anything which would help you meet new people. This change will bring a positive impact on your life as you would not only be interacting with new people but will also be joining an activity. This will bring back the motivation you need in your life. Now that we have told you every major reason why you might be becoming an always tired – demotivated person, you should start doing the aforementioned things to achieve greatness in life. Everyone can be a hero, you just need to fight your battle and come as a winner! May the force be with you!
  16. Every man who is a part of the armed forces and serves the country has a story behind his journey. The story depends on his walk of life and how he perceives it, to fulfil his duties. Compassion is an ardent part of any army-man's life, without which protecting one's nation is absolutely redundant. An altogether heroic and compassionate stance was also taken by Major Shashidharan Nair before he breathed his last at the LoC last week and we're as gutted as we're proud about his story, to keep up all his responsibilities well intact. (c)Times Of India Major Nair was a native of Khadakwasala and studied from Fergusson college in Pune. He was a kind and compassionate soul, full of love and armoured responsibility and he did his best to fulfil the ones he wore proudly on his shoulder. One of them was obviously love and he met the love of his life, Trupti in Pune through some mutual friends. Their friendship nurtured into love and they soon got married to fulfil their dreams together. Trupti was a working woman with a masters in computer application and Nair boasted of being a 'captain' and they started living their life like they had planned to. But it wasn't easy for them. It never really is, is it? (c)Twitter Just a few months into them being engaged, Trupti was diagnosed with multiple arteriosclerosis. Arteriosclerosis is the hardening and narrowing of arteries which can lead to heart conditions and strokes and that's exactly what happened with Trupti. Everyone around Nair was against him getting married to someone suffering from a disease like that, but love made Nair stick to his guns and he finally married Trupti in 2012. But their happy married bliss was short-lived, when a few months into their marriage, Trupti suffered a stroke, which paralysed her lower body completely. (c)Twitter But that never deterred their spirit to love each other unconditionally and stand by each other through thick and thin. especially for Nair, who was a constant pillar to her weaknesses--both physical and emotional at the time. Their love story stands out as a well known romance in the army and everyone remembers their love and the fondness they had for each other, very well. They would often attend parties together, with Major Nair wheeling Trupti or carrying her in his arms, throughout, with valour. (c)Twitter Unfortunately, like I said it wasn't easy for them and their love was short-lived. Before joining back on duty on January 2nd, Major Nair took leave to spend a month with his wife. He went back to the LoC where he was posted in Nowshera, Jammu & Kashmir. Trupti being a concerned wife was a little sceptical about his posting there, but he like any ardent and caring husband promised to be back home soon. And he did live up to his promise. But not like how we'd expect him to. (c)Twitter Turns out, the promise he made to his motherland overpowered the one he made to his wife when he laid down his life for the nation, while on patrol on the LoC. He was the victim of coming in between an IED (improvised explosive device) laid down by terrorists there, and he breathed his last, at that very moment, with another Indian army soldier. (c)Twitter His body arrived at the National War Memorial in Pune, wrapped in the tricolour and Trupti sat there, quietly, bidding her pillar of strength a final goodbye. (c)Twitter His demise broke many hearts. His family and friends were left devastated but that's the thing about the men in the forces. Somewhere deep down you have to know that one day they may never come back and finally make peace with that fact. I believe Trupti did the same. Although, she counted on him to return and be with her and share a happy life but somewhere inside her heart she knew he may never return and she would have to carry on with life without him. That's the power of love. Withstanding every challenge that may come your way and step up and be invincible together, for as long as two people can and we definitely found that invincibility in Major Nair and Trupti.
  17. The Indian cricket team created history by becoming the touring party in 71 years to secure a Test series win on the Australian soil. Virat Kohli-led India achieved the feat following their 2-1 win in the four-match Test series. While the visiting team would've fancied their chances in the fourth Test (which resulted in a tame draw), Kohli & Co would still take immense pride in what they've achieved Down Under. Owing to their historic triumph, the social media was buzzing with congratulatory messages and wishes for the Indian cricket team. From former cricketers, prominent politicians to popular celebrities, the Indian side received plaudits from every corner of the country. Amid all the praise, there was one from Bollywood diva Preity Zinta who is also the co-owner of Kings XI Punjab. Taking to Twitter, the Bollywood actress showered praise on Kohli's men for etching their name in the history books. “Congratulations to the boys in blue for being the first Asian team to win a test match down under@cheteshwar1 take a bow#AUSvsIND #victory #ting #TeamIndia #IndianCricketTeam @BCCI”, she had tweeted. While her interest in cricket continues to grow, Zinta's knowledge about the gentleman's game was questioned following her gaffe in the tweet. Unfortunately for her, India are not the first Asian team to win a Test in Australia - they are actually the first side to win a Test series Down Under. Highlighting her error, cricket fans took turns to troll the Bollywood star who later deleted the questionable tweet. While Tom Holland who was also seen in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' would play the protagonist in the sequel, it has been reported that Jake Gyllenhaal might play the villain. via GIPHY However, we are just not sure as to how Peter Parker would make his return after the end of 'Avengers: Infinity War'. The direction of the film will be handled by Jon Watts who also directed 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. Dark Phoenix In September this year, 20th Century Fox released the trailer of another 'X-Men' film and named it 'Dark Phoenix'. If we talk about the 2016 film 'X-Men: Apocalypse', it was the young Jean Grey who saved Professor X (James McAvoy) from getting killed at the hands of the Apocalypse, ultimately discovering her superpowers. via GIPHY 'Dark Phoenix' will feature Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) as the protagonist and will be a mix of her present and past lives. Though 'Dark Phoenix' is believed to be a forceful attempt to bring twists and turns into the already saturated series, the film seems to be losing its charm even before its release. Reason – The two major characters of the entire 'X-Men' franchise i.e. Logan and Professor X have already died in the 2017 film 'Logan'. 'Dark Phoenix' may only mix things up, as fans have already seen how Jean Grey died years back. via GIPHY Other than Sophie Turner, actors including Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Nicholas Hoult would also be seen, maybe for the very last time if this film has to be the end of the 'X-Men' franchise. 'Dark Phoenix' is directed by Simon Kinberg and will hit the theatres in June 2019. The New Mutants The 'New Mutants' is one film Marvel and 'X-Men' fans are eagerly looking forward to. As the title suggests, the film explores the horror-superhero genre and displays the story of teenage mutants getting a grip of their superpowers, while being captive at a secret facility. via GIPHY The film-makers have finalized a stunning cast for the film including actors Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Alice Braga, Charlie Heaton, and Henry Zaga. Earlier, the film was scheduled for April 2018, however, it has now been pushed to August 2, 2019. As per a few reports, certain scenes of the film are now being reshot to add the pinch of horror to it. In fact, major parts of the film are being shot again taking in view of the horror angle. The rating of the film has not been decided yet. 'The New Mutants' is being directed by Josh Boone. via GIPHY It will be interesting to see these teenage mutants getting to understand their powers. Remember, how it happened for the first time with the likes of Logan, Scott, Storm, and Mystique? via GIPHY Got any interesting scoop about these films? 19. There is a saying, 'to save your throne, you must win every battle ahead of you,' but we must thank the almighty that this saying doesn't apply in the world of football. Here you might get defeated, but the one who shows true character till the very end, gets to have the last laugh, and not to forget, the throne...!! Something similar happened last night when the two giants of the Premier League confronted each other. Yes, Matchday 21 got to witness the biggest clash of 2019, Manchester City Vs Liverpool at the Etihad. With both the sides vying for the title, it was merely impossible to predict who would come out on top. An absolute screamer of a goal in the 40th minute by Sergio Aguero did send the home crowd into a state of delirium. But, a side like Liverpool, even when they're trailing, cannot be underestimated. And, as expected, a Roberto Firmino header saw the visitors levelling the proceedings in the 64th minute of the game. With both sides levelled and eager to deliver the killing blow, it was eventually Man City who restored their lead through Leroy Sane's left-footed strike in the 72nd minute. Trailing 1-2, Jurgen Klopp's men tried to breach City's defence but to no avail. In the end, Sane's strike became the decider which finally brought an end to Liverpool's marauding 21-match unbeaten run. With two of the Premier League's biggest teams in play, the match was full of exciting events which had the spectators' hearts racing. Here's a look at four major talking points from the game: John Stones Being The Saviour For City © Reuters The first save of the match, which technically should have been by City's goalkeeper Ederson, was done by the defender John Stones in the 17th minute. A brilliant play by Mo Salah and Firmino led the ball the towards Sadio Mane who could only aim the crossbar. But the drama began after that when in the process of clearing the ball, Stones hits his own goalie, Ederson, and the ball got deflected towards their own net. Showing great presence of mind, the 24-year-old youngster produced a sliding clearance, just before the ball could go behind the goal line. It's needless to say that, if it wasn't for sliding Stones, City would have surely found themselves trailing early in the game. 'Kompany's Tackle Worth A Red Card' © Reuters From being a star in the first 20 minutes, it didn't take much time for Stones to be presumptuous of his game as he gave away an extremely loose pass to Vincent Kompany in the 31st minute. Going one-on-one with one of the best players in the world, the City skipper was not left with any other option other than pulling out a tackle on the Egyptian Messi. Being the last man standing it could have been a red card, but Anthony Taylor had a different point of view on it and showed Kompany just a yellow card. Later in the post-match-interview, Jurgen Klopp gave the same reaction stating “How on earth is that not a red card.?” Guardiola Fumes Over Tackle On Sterling © Reuters In the latter half of the game, while Man City was building another attack, Raheem Sterling was manhandled by Andrew Robertson inside the Liverpool box, for which he was not even penalised. On one hand, where Guardiola was getting agitated, it seemed like match referee Taylor was just settling scores to make it more balanced for the teams. Alisson Saves Liverpool The Blushes © Reuters Without any doubt, the goalkeeper is the most important person in any team, and the Reds might not have had a lucky day at the Etihad, but are surely blessed with one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Alisson. Despite nearing their defeat, Alisson pulled off some awesome saves and especially the one at the 90th minute by Bernardo Silva. A terrible pass from another of Klopp's players, Shaqiri, could only find Silva thumping a shot at the near post to be later saved by Alisson.
  20. Whether it was the Asian Games, Women's World T20 or the recently-concluded Hockey World Cup for men, the year 2018 has been full of sporting events. While the various tournaments this year produced numerous moments of brilliance, there were also some controversies that rocked the sporting world. If success is measured by wins and losses, stats and superlatives; then, understandably, no possible point of contention goes unnoticed - which, in turn, paves way for controversy in sports. Just like politics and cafeteria lunch specials, everything has two 'sides' in sports. The ongoing year, too, witnessed it's fair share of controversies and scandals in sports where some of the biggest sportspersons on the planet found themselves in a peculiar position. Here's a look at some of the major controversies that rocked the sporting world in 2018: 'BCCI Broke Rules For Virat Kohli' © BCCL Virat Kohli's popularity took a major hit when his untenable differences with Anil Kumble led to the former resigning from the position of Team India's head coach in June, 2017. If that wasn't enough, the allegations over Kohli about playing a key role in Kumble's ouster further dented his reputation in international cricket. While the conflict dates back to last year, it was once again brought to the limelight by Diana Edulji - a key member of BCCI's Committee of Administrators (CoA) earlier this month when she revealed how the Indian skipper arm-twisted the Indian cricket board into firing Kumble and hiring Kohli's preferred man Ravi Shastri for the top job. "Mr Kumble a legend in his own right was subjected to loss of face and made to look like a villain. He was gracious enough to move on for which I respect him. There also, rules were broken and I had raised objections back then," Edulji, a senior administrator, claimed. 'Coach Ramesh Powar Humiliated & Embarrassed Me' © BCCL In what arguably turned out to be one of the biggest controversies in Indian women's cricket, senior player Mithali Raj opened the can of worms by accusing their then coach Ramesh Powar of humiliating and discriminating her during the women's World T20 in the Caribbean last month. Mithali, one of the most respected cricketers in India, claimed: "My issues with the coach started immediately as we landed in the West Indies. At first there were small signs that his behaviour towards me was unfair and discriminatory but I did not bother much about it". She further alleged that Powar, in a bid to insult Mithali, barred her from being a part of the team huddle before the second innings of their semifinal against England. In response to Mithali's allegations, Powar submitted a 10-page tour report to the BCCI, including nearly a five-page assessment of India's Test and ODI captain. "I was saddened by her attitude and it gave me an impression that Mithali Raj comes first and then India. She threw a lot of tantrums and created a lot of chaos," Powar stated in his report. “I hope Mithali Raj stops blackmailing, pressurising coaches and also stops putting her interest first than team's. I hope she will look at the bigger picture & work towards betterment of the Indian women's cricket,” he added further. 'Those Admiring Foreign Cricketers Should Leave India' © BCCL Virat Kohli became the subject of immense criticism after he opined that those who admire overseas cricketers should leave India. The incident came to the fore last month when the Indian captain had a run-in with a cricket fan on the social media. Launching his mobile app on his 30th birthday, Kohli read out social media messages and seemed to have lost his cool after reading a particular tweet. "Over-rated batsman and personally I see nothing special in his batting. I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians," Kohli read out the tweet from a fan during his app launch. "Okay, I don't think you should live in India then...you should go and live somewhere else, no? Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don't mind you not liking me but I don't think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right," Kohli replied. Kohli's retort evoked a strong response from cricket fans and sports personalities alike. After witnessing a major backlash, he tweeted: "I guess trolling isn't for me guys, I'll stick to getting trolled! I spoke about how "these Indians" was mentioned in the comment and that's all. I'm all for freedom of choice. Keep it light guys and enjoy the festive season. Love and peace to all". Sergio Ramos 'Deliberately' Injuring Mohamed Salah Earlier in May, Real Madrid romped their way to the UEFA Champions League for the 13th time in the history of the competition. The Madrid side managed to overcome the in-form Jurgen Klopp side to seal a thrilling 3-1 win in Kiev. While Karim Benzema and Gareth bale scored the goals for Madrid, it was captain Sergio Ramos who grabbed all limelight for all the wrong reasons. The Madrid captain faced the wrath of football fans across the globe after his challenge on Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's best player that season, in the 26th minute of the game. Many believed that Ramos purposely locked arms with Salah who eventually dislocated his shoulder before being ruled out of the key clash. But if that wasn't enough to frustrate Liverpool supporters, then the sight of Ramos laughing and joking with the assistant referee as Salah walked off the pitch in tears certainly did. While Ramos rendered an apology and wished Salah a speedy recovery post his team's triumph, football pundits and fans called it a sham before slamming the Spaniard. Rohit Sharma Likes Tweet Questioning BCCI's Dual Standards © BCCL Back in August, the Indian cricket team was busy negating the England bowlers in their much-anticipated tour. They had defeated the hosts 2-1 in T20Is and lost the ODI series 1-2 ahead of a sterner test in the five Test matches. Before the first Test, the Indian High Commission in London hosted Virat Kohli & Co for a special gathering. Later, the BCCI shared a photograph of the Indian cricket team and their coaching staff with the High Commission officials. But, amongst those in the picture, there was one particular individual - Anushka Sharma - whose presence attracted a lot of criticism. Many fans questioned Anushka's presence in the company of Indian cricketers, especially when there was no other WAG (wives and girlfriends) present there. @ImRo45 void is filled up by @AnushkaSharma ð I believe WAG's are not allowed till 3rd test. Different rules for different players! — Kevin Mario (@imkevmar) August 8, 2018 Amid all the backlash, Rohit Sharma, who was overlooked for the first three Tests despite back-to-back hundreds (in the last T20I and first ODI), stirred up a storm after liking a fan's tweet that had questioned BCCI's dual-standards for cricketers. "@ImRo45 void is filled up by @AnushkaSharma I believe WAG's are not allowed till 3rd test. Different rules for different players!" the tweet read. Interestingly, Rohit's next like is a tweet calling for his inclusion in the Test squad. "Rohit Sharma averages 58.19, batting at no 6 in tests. That is more than any batsman playing currently in the world," read the tweet which had a thumbs-up from Rohit.
  21. Ishaan Khatter made an impressive entry with 'Dhadak', and even though the movie couldn't keep up with its original Marathi version, everyone was convinced about Ishaan's acting prowess. Ever since his entry, it was expected that he would be compared with his big brother Shahid Kapoor, and let's just say he was. However, acting was not the only area where the young lad made his bro proud. When it comes to fashion, he proved that he is as gutsy and comfortable in his choices as Shahid, and here are 4 instances where we saw that. 1. 22. Hershey's - the name evokes one of the most powerful forms of sweet cravings that mankind might be aware of. Be it Hershey's Kisses or Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, each one of us has some sentimental emotion attached to this brand name. Hershey's Kisses are more than mere chocolates, they became declarations of love while we were growing up. When we think about chocolate syrup, that's the name that pops into our mind by default, because we associate so many of chocolatey memories with Hershey's! © Wikipedia Such a known brand name, yet, how many of us know anything about the man after whom the chocolates bear their name? Milton S. Hershey is the name of the man with the magical hands, who blessed us with the milk-chocolate sweets that we all love so much. But did you know that Hershey had to overcome multiple failures to create something that would remain popular across many generations? Hershey didn't taste success the first two times he tried to turn his dream of making the best candies into a reality. He went completely bankrupt, but came back fighting for his dream and ended up beating all odds to build his own town from nothingness. The Backstory Hershey was born in the small town of Derry in Pennsylvania, and since his family was always on the move, because of his father's constant “get rich quick” schemes, Hershey didn't receive a very good education. © thefamouspeople He had attended six different schools by the time he was 13-years-old, and even though he was a smart kid, his mother decided to take him out of school after fourth grade, so he could learn a trade. Hershey started out as an apprentice to a printer, but didn't enjoy the job. After two years with the printer, his mother found him a new apprentice job with a candy making - and that was his first brush with what was to become the love of his life. Learning The Tricks Of The Trade Working at the Lancaster confectionary shop, Hershey learnt about the art of candy making. From caramels to fudge and peppermints, he tried his hands at everything, and thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience. He had finally found his passion. © Wikipedia The Big Leap & Failure Having found something he wished to do for the rest of his life, he decided to open his own candy business at the young age of nineteen. He borrowed money from his relatives to set up his business in Philadelphia. But as luck would have it, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't make any profits. Soon, he ran out of money and had to close shop. The Second Fall Despite failing the first time, Hershey continued to chase his dreams and didn't give up. He moved to a different city and started to work with a candy maker. He gave another shot at his dream, and opened another candy shop in New York City. Unfortunately, he failed the second time as well. The Homecoming Hershey finally moved back to Lancaster, and started a new candy business, which specialised in making just caramels. This turned out to be a very successful venture for Hershey. Soon, he would open many candy-making factories and branches all over the country. This time, Hershey tasted sweet success. © hersheypa Inception of Hershey's Chocolates Post this success, Hershey decided to go even bigger. And he knew just how to do it. Chocolates! He sold his caramel business for 1 million dollars and invested all of it into making chocolates. His aim was to produce affordable chocolates for the common man, that was delicious too. So he decided to build a factory for the same in the countryside. But the new roadblock was where would he settle the workers who for in his factory. The Town Of Hershey Hershey decided to build a large factory in the countryside, along with a town settlement around it. People called him crazy, but Hershey went through with his plans. He established the town of Hershey in Pennsylvania. It featured lots of houses, a post office, churches, and schools. The chocolate company was a huge success. Soon Hershey's chocolates were the most famous chocolates in the world. That's the story of a resolute person who changed his own destiny, lived his dream and gave us the best chocolates we enjoy to this day.
  23. I entered the movie hall with a mixed perception in my head, thanks to some of the reviews (spoiler-free) I ended up reading online a day before. However, being a Potterhead I knew that not even one second would disappoint, but what I did not expect, was to keep getting the wind knocked out of me in intervals right unto the last goddamn moment! via GIPHY I had booked a Thursday night show, for which surprisingly not a lot of people showed up. So it was literally 30 odd people in the hall, who turned out to be diehard Potterheads like me. At one point after the intermission, we all ended up sitting together. Strangers yet united in love for the fandom. The unanimous “Ooooohhh” and “Aaaaaaah” and “F*****ck” was proof that we were all on the same page, as we tried to take in revelation after revelation and punched each other at every Harry Potter reference that was made. (I have a purple bruise on my arm now.) via GIPHY Look, I am not a severe critic. I don't make 'in-depth' analysis and break down the movie frame by frame and look for what went wrong. If my jaw is on the floor by the end, or I am a sobbing mess, or I am left with unending questions...that's proof that the movie has burned itself into my brain. And that is exactly what happened with 'The Crimes of Grindelwald'. via GIPHY Don't worry, I am not going to give out a single spoiler in this, however, I will let you in on a tip: The trailers are useless. Do not go into the movie hall with a very exciting notion about a particular clip you saw in the many trailers. Trust me when I say, the trailers do not give away literally anything from the movie. Yes, there is Nagini. Yes, Credence is back. Yes, Grindelwald and Dumbledore were 'closer than brothers', but that's about it. The rest of the movie, despite giving you the knowledge of these crucial things, will hit Potterheads like a freight train. via GIPHY A lot of reviews have called this movie 'miserable', 'disastrous' and 'muddled' and I just have one word for them: Muggles. via GIPHY So I have decided to list out things that, in my opinion, make this movie, a worthy sequel to 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them'. via GIPHY Eddie Redmayne continues to be a pure delight as the gentle, eccentric beast-loving Newt Scamander, who now finds himself burdened with a pretty massive mission by Albus Dumbledore. The kind-hearted Newt finds himself having to some touch decision which he never thought he would have to make, and I found myself sympathising for his dilemma. via GIPHY Jude Law almost steals Redmayne's thunder as the young, brilliant and ever so charismatic Albus Dumbledore, who finds himself facing his old friend-turned-nemesis Gellert Grindelwald. But, as you've seen in the trailers, he “can't move against” him, however, the reason may not be what you are thinking. © Warner Brothers There are a bunch of new beasts, who look absolutely incredible, but the entire hall collectively lost it when the baby Nifflers appeared on the screen. I swear, I thoughts Nifflers were freaking adorable, but nothing prepared me to see an even cuter version of the creature. And now, yes, getting to the part I know you want me to talk about: Credence and Nagini. How the two find each other is not as important as what they do when they are at the crossroads of their destiny. © Warner Brothers Credence is now fully aware of his powers but lands in Paris in search of answers to his past, and that is where Grindelwald comes in. He finds solace in Nagini, the Maledictus, who like him is 'different' and hates how she is forced to do someone else's bidding. Of course, every Potterhead knows that Grindelwald was not more terrifying than Voldemort, however, this movie makes it very clear, especially in one particular scene, that the dark wizard is equally capable of committing unspeakable horrors with a simple gesture, just “for the greater good”. via GIPHY Johnny Depp is brilliant as Grindelwald, channelling the dark wizard's calm yet ominously powerful presence, as he is on a mission to bring Purebloods to power and gather as many wizards as he can on his side. via GIPHY There is a lot going on in the movie, from Hogwarts flashbacks to the backstories of many crucial characters, which is why I must advise you this: ensure you are fully focused at all times. You cannot afford to miss out on anything, because everything is connected. You also need to know the books back and forth to be able to make most of the connections. via GIPHY God, I am dying to tell you the 'big thing' that happens, but of course, I won't. But believe me when I say that none of you will be ready for it. I along with the rest of the Potterheads in the hall was practically falling off my seat and clutching my head in disbelief when that particular scene unfolded. Okay. I won't say anything else. Gah, this is hard! Okay, NOW proceed with caution, as the copy has MAJOR SPOILERS. (Read on, only if you have watched the movie.) I have been holding myself back in this entire copy, and now I am going to pour out all the major questions I had by the end of the movie: . When did Abernathy switch with Grindelwald in the prison? Was Abernathy under the Imperious curse or was his allegiance genuine? How in the name of Merlin did he get a forked tongue?? . Why was the symbol of Grindelwald not splashed everywhere? In the last movie, he gave a chain with a pendant sporting his symbol on it to Credence, so why did we not see it anywhere in the movie, except that one time when Leta Lestrange goes back to Hogwarts and looks at her old desk, where the symbol is carved in there. . Did Grindelwald's henchmen actually seek out Queenie or did they stumble upon her in Paris? Did they want her on their side because she was a Legilimens, or because she was the sister of an Auror? Why was Grindelwald bent upon having her on his team? (Watching Queenie go over to the bad side broke my heart.) . Did the Mirror of Erised scene with Dumbledore and Grindelwald confirm their 'closer than brothers' relationship? Also, how did Dumbledore already have the Elder wand when they were young and were friends? . What the **** was that skull/hookah pipe thing Grindelwald was carrying around? Who did it belong to? What was its purpose and its power? . Okay, the big one now…Credence is revealed to be…Aurelius Dumbledore! (I nearly passed out when this happened). How is he related to Albus? In no way is he his direct brother if you know your timeline, so how are they 'brothers', if we go by what Grindelwald tells him. Oh, God is he lying to Credence? But then how did the Phoenix appear? 24. “Women! Can't live with them, can't live without them.” Well, it is true! It's not easy to understand women. You can almost never figure out what is going on in a woman's mind. If you happen to be in a relationship, then I'm sure you would understand. How many times a day do you tell her she's being overdramatic? How many times a week you really can't figure out why she's upset? I'm sure many! That's because women are complicated. And there's only one way you can make them happy: by being the best version of yourself. They don't need much, just keep reminding them that you're there for them and you will always be. If you can't figure out what you can do better to make your relationship work, here are 5 TV characters which were (almost) perfect boyfriends (or husbands). You can surely learn a thing or two from them: 1. Chandler Bing – 'FRIENDS' Over the years, I think it was Chandler's character that matured the most among all. From being an under-confident and commitment-phobic person to a married and settled guy, his journey was full of lessons and experiences. Remember the time when he rejected the advances of a beautiful colleague and flew to his wife on Christmas? Or when he requested the surrogate to choose them and told her that it kills him he can't give Monica a baby as she is already a mother without a baby? That is what we can call a true love! On top of that, he was funny too! Things to pick up: Sense of humour, loyalty, and caring nature. 2. Ted Mosby - 'How I Met Your Mother' Our 'lover boy' here had some great boyfriend qualities. Apart from being hopelessly romantic, which most girls dig, he actually showed that it is possible to love someone selflessly. Ted was always in love with Robin and still, he not only let her go but was also okay when she decided to marry Barney, Ted's best friend. Ted always saw Robin's happiness first, ahead of his own. He understood Robin as no one else could. “You said 'nah, it's stupid', which is Robin's version of 'it's important.' – Ted to Robin Who wouldn't want such compatibility? Besides this, he always accepted people for who they are, and never wanted to change anyone, be it his girlfriends or friends. Things to pick: Selfless love & understanding. 3. Hank Moody – 'Californication' “At the end of the day, it's all about her. It has always been about her.” – Hank Moody. Those of you who have watched the series must be wondering how a man-whore can come under the 'near-perfect boyfriend' category. Well, under his casanova and drunk lifestyle, there's a hopeless romantic lover. No matter how many girls he has slept with, the man never cheated when he was in a relationship with Karen, the love of his life. If you notice closely, whatever he did in his life, everything always revolved around her. Despite being in countless relationships, we don't even hear once the 'L' word from his mouth except when it came to Karen. He always tried to make himself a better man just for her. Hank Moody; a writer, a drunk, and a lover! Things to pick: If you love someone, never give up; or don't love at all. 4. Derek Shepherd – 'Grey's Anatomy' The McDreamy here is one of the most dedicated on-screen boyfriends. He was shown to have a serious relationship with two women and he did his best to make both of them work. The guy never cheated, he was always there for his partners (in sickness and in health), and his commitment was always rock-solid. Remember when in S02E17, Derek visits Meredith after the bomb incident and they're standing at her door talking like exes who are sort of friends? Meredith tells him she can't remember their last kiss, to which Derek turns to leave but then stops and says “You kissed me, soft. It was quick. Kind of like a habit. You know, like we would do it every day for the rest of our lives.” If that isn't romantic, I don't know what is. Things to pick: Patience, forgiveness, and the 'I'm always there for you' part. 5. Cameron Tucker – Modern Family Cam is one of the most supportive boyfriends ever seen in TV shows. He's emotional, would do everything he can to help out his boyfriend Mitch, and is full of entertainment. Be it Mitch's conservative-ish dad, or Mitch's not-so-smooth professional life, or the tantrums of Mitch when he's upset; Cam always stood by him through thick and thin. He never worried about making himself a fool just to see Mitch smile. If a relationship that can be called rock solid, it's theirs. Things to pick: Supportive behaviour, entertaining & fun loving attitude.
  25. When love comes to town, there's a certain music in the air you simply can't miss, and this seems to be the case for Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar, who made their relationship public very recently. It was at the beginning of September when Shibani shared a photo on her Instagram feed, where she was holding the hand of a “mystery man” who was facing away from the camera. View this post on Instagram photo cred @anuragrao A post shared by Shibani Dandekar (@shibanidandekar) on Sep 1, 2018 at 8:12am PDT The entire nation switched their detective-mode on and began speculating who the man in the photograph might be. From celebrity tabloids to the fans, everybody was seen pinning their guesses on Bollywood's multi-talented celeb Farhan Akhtar. As it would later turn out, with Farhan sharing the same image on his Instagram feed last week, complete with a 'heart' emoticon, that the “mystery man” in Shibani's life is indeed Farhan himself. Fans had taken this post to be a “public confirmation” of sorts. However, it is this latest video that Shibani shared on Instagram that's become the talk of the town. Singer Meiyang Chang also commented on the post saying, “I see your love for Farhan Akhtar will never fade :D". Post the surfacing of allegations against Farhan's cousin Sajid Khan in the #MeToo movement, people started bashing Farhan for not speaking out about his cousin sooner, or taking a step against him. During this time too, Shibani came forward to stand beside Farhan on social media, and said that blaming family members for not knowing isn't justified or fair. Shibani seems to be doing well both as a partner and a lover, won't you say?
