  1. Ever wondered why they call it a fitness 'journey'? The obvious answer to it may be because we can't get that dream body overnight. But in all honesty, we all know there is more to it than meets the eye. And this journey, is in many ways, testing and teasing like all the others, and it is as much to do with a healthy 'body image' as it is to do with a healthy body. © Getty Images However, it would be a lie to call this journey regular, because it is certainly not and will never be. The journey to fitness is marked by many challenges, which are physical as well as psychological. The very decision to kickstart a fitness journey deserves many accolades in itself, and then comes in the constant battle we fight with ourselves over shedding those extra kilos and squeezing in another hour of sleep instead. From the dietary adjustments, to other long term compromises we are expected to make and a myriad of other miscellaneous things we are expected to abide by, makes this journey a real struggle. © Getty Images But then there exist some people who show us the real face of a fitness journey at their own expense, and it seems so true, every Indian guy would come to relate to it. Using Arjun Kapoor and weight loss in the same sentence may provoke a lot of you to break into laughter. But, can we spare a moment to consider that every “weight loss journey” is different from the last one you came across? That every individual who is on this journey is making a lot of effort to stop making excuses and charge towards a healthier body. © Twitter Well, if you are looking for an example to guide you on your own journey to a fitter you, then that's the man you should look out for. His isn't the most glitzy fat-to-fab story, it definitely doesn't make for a perfect example of a fitness journey either, and that is exactly what that makes Arjun's journey more real, more believable and therefore more inspiring. We witnessed Arjun Kapoor's drastic body transformation for his debut movie 'Ishaqzaade' back in 2012. When, as an aspiring actor, Arjun weighed 140 kgs, the dream of being a Bollywood actor seemed too far-fetched for him. But it was reportedly during his time as an assistant director for Nikkhil Advani's 2007 film 'Salaam-E-Ishq', that Salman Khan inspired him to lose weight, after which Salman allegedly also supervised Arjun's training sessions. Over the next three years, Arjun lost close to 50 kg before his big launch. © Instagram But hours ago, Arjun revealed his fitness journey over the years, and how his struggles with obesity have been a constant in his life since he was a child. Owing to many mental and personal reasons that always came in his way one way or another, Arjun has constantly battled with the weighing scale over the years. But nothing could make him give it all up, not when he knew what he is capable of. Read about his journey here. View this post on Instagram It's been a tough journey for me ever since I was a kid when it comes to my battle with obesity. Everyone has their own struggles I have had and continue to have mine. But the whole point of life is that we fall, we get back up and try again... efforts will pay off eventually if not today then in a week month or even a year... I started training with @shivohamofficial this January and slow and steady we have managed to At least lay a foundation during our prep for Panipat. I vowed never to give up in the 3 years it took me to lose 50kgs when I was 20 years old & I sure as hell won't be giving up and letting go now... keeping the belief is key, u gotta keep at it and one day you will reap the benefits... we all gotta keep the faith and keep at it cause what we do today will echo in time and reflect within us eventually... A post shared by Arjun Kapoor (@arjunkapoor) on Jun 17, 2019 at 11:18pm PDT Arjun's earnest and honest ways of always being candid about his weight issues and how he struggles and deals with it, is something most of us will relate to. Getting those 6-pack-abs and chiselled face comes at a cost, but how many people have been completely honest about their backstories, instead of posting daily gym selfies with sappy 'motivational' one-liners? © Instagram But, this guy here, brings forth the real story, and it will do us good to acknowledge it that while we are trying to get fit, it's okay to chase after it at the cost of your mental peace and happiness in general. The idea is to have a healthy body, that's the goal we are after.
  2. I know the first thing that pops into your head is “I can make a decent gaming PC build for cheaper, why would I buy this?" Well, to be honest, that is a very valid and warranted question considering you can build your own PC for cheaper. Having said that, the Aurora R8 is not only a powerhouse but also comes with benefits that you may not get while building your own PC. The version we tested comes with an RTX 2080, 32GB RAM, NVMe SK Hynix 256 GB SSD and an Intel Core i9-9900K processor. However, the Aurora R8 also comes for a cheaper configuration that comes with Intel Core i5 9600K processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX1060 (6GB graphics), 8GB RAM and a 2TB hard drive which costs Rs 1,40,880 in India. Our review units cost Rs Rs 2,80,120 which is not far from what we managed to build last year. The only difference being here is that we built it from scratch with a different processor and an RTX 2080 ti. Design The new Aurora R8 doesn't look any different from its previous models as it has the same UFO-inspired chassis. It has the same aggressive angles and minimal RGB lighting. The Alienware logo on the front lights up and can be in sync with the other RGB lighting on the cabinet. These lighting colours can be controlled from the Alienware Command Center application. In terms of ventilation, both the front and left side of the cabinet has holes. The cabinet also has ventilation holes at the top, which is quite a staple in any PC cabinet today. Having said that, for something that costs almost Rs 3 Lakhs, we would have preferred to see a premium finish on the cabinet. It feels very plasticky, which is never a good feeling, even though it has been reinforced with metal. It would have been awesome to see a more premium finish rather than having it mostly made out of plastic. © BCCL The case remains the same with the supplied keyboard and mouse that comes with the Aurora R8. We would recommend you use your own keyboard and mouse, as neither were fit for long periods of gaming. The mouse was not ergonomic enough for a firm grip while the keyboard felt very flimsy. © Dell When it comes to ports and connectivity options, the Aurora R8 has three USB ports, a headphone jack, one USB Type-C port just at the front of the cabinet. At the back, there are 8 USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, an Ethernet port, an SPIDF port if you want to connect a home theatre, and a display port. The number of ports available on the Aurora R8 is enough for any PC gamer but is also handy if you want to stream or become a content creator. With so many additional ports, you can plug-in many types of accessories such as a USB Microphone, a Webcam and other peripherals such as an Elgato Stream Deck. © Dell One of the most essential features of a desktop gaming PC is to have the ability to upgrade your components. The Aurora R8 is fairly easy to get into, however, you will need a Phillips head screwdriver to get going. Cable management looks neat and in order to get access to the rest of your components, you need to unlock two additional switches. You can then access your GPU, PSU, RAM, CPU and cooling components. What's cool is that you can upgrade any of the components without having a fear of voiding the warranty. Performance Our review unit came with an RTX 2080 which we reviewed last year when it launched in India. It is a powerful GPU that can deliver impressive FPS at 1080p and 2K resolution. We tested the Aurora R8 with Battlefield 5 and Metro Exodus. With ray tracing on the game ran between 45 - 50 FPS at 4K with ultra settings, however, the FPS would average about 112 - 125 FPS on 1080p (FHD) resolution with the same settings. On Metro Exodus, the Aurora R8 was able to achieve 87 FPS in FHD and around 53 FPS in 4K resolution. Please note both games were running with high ray tracing settings and on the latest Nvidia drivers. © MensXP According to our Afterburner data, the CPU reached an average clock speed of 4.2 GHz and had an average temperature of 52 degree Celsius. The RTX 2080 would hit around 75 degree Celsius which is similar to what we experience with the FE RTX 2080 earlier in the year. If you are looking to use the Aurora R8 as a content creator, you will be happy to hear that this machine can render videos with impressive performance. In our handbrake tests, we could transcode a 4K video to 1080p in less than 8 minutes. The read and write speeds are also one of the fastest we've experienced as the machine was capable of copying 5GB of data in precisely 7.8 seconds. The Final Say While it is cheaper to build your own desktop with similar specifications, you do, however, lose out on Dell's customer service and guaranteed warranty. The Aurora R8 may cost a bomb for most users, this gaming desktop PC is for people who do not want to build their own PC and want added benefits such as good customer service. Personally, the fun lies in building your own PC, but the Aurora R8 is for someone who does not want to take the extra headache and want something personalised out of the box.
  3. It has been more than two years since the Men in Blue lost by a massive 180 margin to Sarfaraz Ahmed's Pakistan cricket team in the final of the 2017 edition of Champions Trophy which took place at The Oval in London. Considered to be the most dominating force in the world of international cricket, Virat Kohli's boys were being viewed as the tournament favourites and were expected to take home the title for a record third time. But the Pakistan side were focused and had come to lift the trophy. After losing the toss, Pakistan were asked to bat first and thanks to some brilliant innings played by openers Fakhar Zaman (114) and Azhar Ali (59), their team total mounted up to 338 in 50 overs. On the other hand, bowler Mohammad Amir dismissed the best batsmen of the Indian side in Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, while Dhoni was dismissed by Hasan Ali. © Reuters Under such circumstances, when India desperately needed someone to control the bleeding and score big runs, all-rounder Hardik Pandya entered the field and was nearly successful in turning around the game in favour of his team. Hitting four 4's and six 6's during his innings, Pandya scored 76 runs off just 43 balls. However, a tiny miscommunication between Pandya and teammate Ravindra Jadeja led to the extremely unfortunate dismissal of the in-form batsman. In the 27th over, both batsmen came out of the crease for a single but Jadeja quickly turned his back on Pandya and saved himself, leaving Pandya in the middle of the pitch with Mohammad Hafeez running him out. This led to a fuming Pandya being forced to exit the field, visibly upset at his teammate. “When you are in that situation, nothing goes through your mind. That time it was just anger because I was in the zone… I went into the dressing room and started throwing things.” Pandya admits in the video interview with the International Cricket Council (ICC). “I went to 'Jaddu' and said 'I am extremely sorry. It was not intentional, no matter what happened, I am not that guy'.” “He is kind of a chill person who doesn't take a lot of pressure on himself,” Ravindra Jadeja praised Pandya in the same video. “He is kind of a rockstar, I would say.” It is such a camaraderie between the members of the Indian cricket team, one of the most effective and powerful sides in international cricket, that continues to bring in success for them.
  4. We all had limitless aspirations when we were all kids. Some of us aspired to be doctors, engineers, scientists, actors etc. But kids nowadays are a lot more innovative with their career choices and make sure they voice them out as creatively as they should. © Twitter/ANI Meet Abeer Magoo, a nine-year-old student of class IV, who has an avid interest in aviation and wants to be a pilot when he grows up. His interest in aviation, flying and aeroplanes is so pronounced that he loves making models of different airports and collecting miniature aeroplanes. And recently, he put in all his hard work and created a replica of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport, his favourite amongst all, and it's quite something. His uncle, Amit Agarwal, went on to Twitter to share his nephew's hard work and everyone loved it. Hand made @DelhiAirport by my 10yr nephew. We were going somewhere when he saw a woman pilot and wanted to be like her. He then started to collect aircraft models. He would only pick them and not toys. We now realise that this is his calling.”- Abeer's mother told Times of India in an interview. This surely took a lot of time and patience for Abeer to construct because the attention to detail is flawless. Which also means, he's thoroughly studied the structure inside out, before creating it, and he's just 9. © Twitter Apart from the peeps on Twitter admiring his model and complimenting him on his talent, the replica caught the attention of DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, who extended an invite to young Abeer, to celebrate his 10th birthday at IGI airport, Delhi. That's the sweetest gesture, ever! Dear Amit, as Abeer turns 10 on the 10th of June, we wanted to give him a 10/10 for his fabulous model of #DelhiAirport. 5. MS Dhoni is too old to still be playing for Team India. He can no longer hit the ball at will. The finisher that once enthralled fans is finished now. Just look at the number of deliveries he eats up in his innings. He's surely a liability for the Indian team. Dhoni is just occupying a Team India spot which can very well be used to accommodate a player that actually deserves it. Surely, we can't win the ICC World Cup with Dhoni in the side. All these comments haunted the former Indian captain in 2018, making it almost imperative for Dhoni to call it quits. But, there is a reason why this man is called 'Captain Cool'. The Jharkhand cricketer is one of those rare breeds of cricketers who thrive under pressure. You knock them down, they get right back up. You push them back, they come forward with rediscovered strength. For someone who remains India's most popular and definitely the most scrutinised cricketer (barring Sachin Tendulkar), Dhoni was out of form and sorts before he travelled to Australia for the three-match ODI series earlier this January. With the critics watching his every move, waiting for him to fall, right before embarking on 'we hate Dhoni' bandwagon; the 37-year-old had everything to lose - his career, place in the side and, more importantly, a chance to play the 2019 ICC World Cup. © Reuters But, in the past four months, Dhoni has not only managed to silence his critics with a brilliant showing, but has rightly made the World Cup spot his own. More recently, his exploits in the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) almost powered Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fourth title, if it wasn't for a rampaging Mumbai Indians (MI) brigade. Apart from a rediscovered form in his batting, Dhoni has so many other roles in the team which makes him a vital cog in India's dreams of capturing their third World Cup title. Here's a look at what makes Dhoni a key ingredient in India's title aspirations at this year's World Cup: Middle-Order Stability © Reuters Unlike the T20 version, the ODI format is an extension that cannot be dictated just by hammering the ball out of the park. It demands the batsmen to rotate the strike and stitch crucial partnerships in the middle overs before launching the all mighty attack on the opposition bowlers in the final stages of the game. While India might boast of a strong batting line-up, no one is best suited to stabilise the innings than Dhoni. The Jharkhand cricketer might not be the finisher we once knew, but, as India's batting line-up evolved over the years, so did Dhoni's role. From being the most consistent finishers in the sport, Dhoni has now adapted to his new role of being a sheet anchor for the team. The new-age MSD allows the batting to revolve around him as he holds the fort at the other end. And, once the game nears its end, Dhoni swaps his role and the finisher takes over. Going into the World Cup, India have thrived on the form of their top three, with the middle-order yet to be tested, which makes Dhoni's presence furthermore crucial for Kohli's men in England & Wales. Lightning Quick Glovework © Reuters Cricket, like other sports, is a game dictated by rules and there are numerous ways in which the coaches emphasise on its importance across the globe. Technique does not end with batting alone, as noticed with wicket-keepers who are equally expected to follow certain guidelines to reap better returns. Amongst others, one major rule related to wicket-keeping or fielding, in general, is inertia. With the ball travelling to the fielder's hands at a rapid pace, a cricketer is expected to catch the ball and let it slide with the momentum for some time before resisting the motion. The idea is to absorb the momentum of the ball slowly in a bid to avoid chances of it popping out of their hands. While most wicket-keepers follow this tactic against seamers and spinners, Dhoni follows a completely different ideology. He believes in attacking the ball and throwing his hands at the stumps as quickly as possible. When he keeps to the spinners, Dhoni moves his hands towards the ball and - without moving his hand back for even a second - guides it to the stumps. So what does he achieve by doing that? As noted on one of his stumpings, a reaction time of a staggering 0.38 seconds. When it comes to run-outs, Dhoni has evolved from traditional techniques even more. While the age-old wicket-keeping technique would state that a keeper needs to be behind the stumps to collect a throw, the Jharkhand cricketer feels otherwise. Rather than standing behind, Dhoni stands right in front and flicks the ball onto the stumps using the momentum of the throw. That technique might not be listed in any rule book, but the Indian wicket-keeper has made it work over the years. Setting Up The Field © Reuters A wicket-keeper enjoys the luxury of having one of the best views on the field. And, Dhoni makes the most of it with his shrewd awareness behind the stumps. Keeping a close watch on the contest between the bowler and the batsman, Dhoni is often seen setting up the field according to the situation. Such has been his know-how of the game that Dhoni, almost like a seer, ends up predicting the shots which are yet to be played by the opposition batsmen. There have been numerous instances where, after anticipating the batsmen's shot selection, the former Indian captain's field settings have led to a breakthrough. And, that added skill-set is likely to come in handy for India in England & Wales. Guiding The Bowlers © Reuters The close proximity of a wicket-keeper with the bowlers allows them to pass on vital information about the batsman's play. If the batsman falters in footwork, the wicket-keeper is probably the first one to notice and advise the bowler to use it to his own good. And, Dhoni is no different. The Indian wicket-keeper has been the guiding force behind the rapid rise of Indian spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and YuzvendraChahal in limited-overs cricket. The stump-mic chatter from numerous ODI games India has played in the past has been a testimony to how Dhoni has helped the Indian spinners to get the better of the Proteas. "From behind the stumps, Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) always keeps advising you. He knows what the batsman is going to try. It makes it easier for us," Chahal has been quoted as saying in the past. India's Go-To-Man For DRS © Reuters With the advent of the Decision Review System (DRS), the cricket teams have an option to challenge on-field decisions. While most teams have struggled to properly use the review, India seems to be doing pretty damn well - thanks to MSD. Such has been his awareness behind the stumps that he has developed a knack for getting the review right, almost every time. His impeccable judgement on the DRS has aided Team India on multiple occasions in the past. While many of his teammates, including captain Virat Kohli, have struggled to identify a potential opportunity, Dhoni has made DRS his own forte. In the modern era of cricket, where every opportunity is crucial in the bigger scheme of things, that is one additional skill a keeper needs and Dhoni leads the way, yet again.
  6. It has been more than a decade since the trash talking, middle-finger raising, beer-drinking, hell-breaking, Texas Rattlesnake, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin made an entry to a pro-wrestling ring to the sound of shattering glass (discounting all the guests appearances he has made since his retirement) but the spirit of Austin 3:16 lives on in the hearts of millions and millions of the wrestler's fans who grew up watching him chugging on Budweisers and hitting his opponents with the Stunner. Austin's charisma is unbeatable and even after so many years of him hanging up his boots, people want to be like him and even want to make his gimmick a part of their happiest occasions. Here's this lad, Danny White who entered his own wedding with Steve Austin's entrance music playing in the background while guzzling down on a couple of cans of beer. Soon after, the groom to be, locks his target on his friend who was apparently his groomsman. Dodging a botched arm swing by his buddy, White turns around, kicks him in the torso and sends him flying with a 'Stone Cold' Stunner to the chin. Haha share this video! #xrp wedding time stone cold steve Austin pic.twitter.com/EgVnUr5bmC — Steve (@fortch15) March 31, 2019 While all of this was obviously staged and despite the beers being real, the two friends initially looked in control, the falling groomsman was unaware of a woman standing next to him. Falling on her knees, the guy swept her off her feet, causing her to crash on the ground like falling timber. Giving credit where it is due, the lady quickly got to her feet, brushed away the dizziness, picked up the horrible actor of a groomsman, and disappeared into the confused crowd who saw the whole thing unfold in front of their eyes. 7. Starting up a business in a field that is already dominated by big shots is not an easy task. You need to have a unique strategy and products in order to stand out from the crowd. Big companies generally tend to be the number one barrier for new entrants but a wristwatch company from India is giving competition to big shots like Titan, Citizen and even international brands like Casio. © Tsar Watches Ever since e-commerce websites emerged in India, it has opened up doors for other small companies like Tsar Watches to get noticed. You could have a unique product but you still need to compete, especially since everything is now online. You sometimes have to resort to tactics that your competition may not be using, and that's exactly what Tsar Watches had in mind. © Tsar Watches Abdul Kadir Bhandari and friends Haider Ali Lashkar and Abbas Akbari founded Tsar Watches in September 2015. Being ardent watch collectors, they came up with the idea and concept of wooden watches, which nobody else was doing at the time in India. Your first thought would be that wooden watches are detrimental to the environment, however, the founders wanted to serve fashion and luxury with a sustainable and an eco-friendly product. Since the watches are made out of wood, the founders already made a conscious effort to contribute towards the environment. For each watch the company sells, the founders plant a tree. So far, the company has been responsible for planting 1500 trees and plan to keep contributing. If you want to know more about their initiative, you can read more about it here. So What's The Secret to Tsar Watches' Success? In order to stand out from the crowd, Tsar Watches had to implement a strategy that would get the company the eyeballs it needed. Being an online-only company, Tsar Watches had to break through the crowded space with smart online marketing strategy. Tsar Watches today sell their products to a worldwide audience, which did not happen by accident. Speaking to Abdul about it he said, “We extensively used Google Primer to get noticed by customers in India and all over the world and create the demand we needed” © Google Google Primer is a tool by the search engine giant that enables businesses to digitise and grow without being location agnostic. The company was also able to expose their online ads for the intended target audience. Being a Google tool, the tool used by Tsar Watches didn't only work exclusively on Google platforms, the exposure of the brand extended to social media platforms and e-commerce websites as well. Abdul spends at least an hour every day to learn something new and enhance his marketing approach to get the desired outcome. The beauty of Google Primer is that it is absolutely free. You can find it on Google Play Store and it even works offline. The app offers lessons on business planning, sales, digital advertising, social media marketing, SEO tactics, branding and analytics. The app also enables its users to learn and apply strategies for online businesses in under five minutes, but one can always spend more time to learn new tactics. Google Primer is available in Hindi, Telugu, English, Bahasa and other languages. It's probably one of the most essential apps any new business owner needs to create brand awareness and learn new strategies to make a mark in a crowded market.
  8. The more I watch the ending of the last episode of 'Game of Thrones', the more convinced I am about a few revelations that will make a breakthrough in the next episode. Well, they can't leave us with unanswered questions on how Arya flew all the way, in the sneakiest way possible to kill the Night King, or how the Dothraki just disappeared in approximately 10 seconds. Everything from the 'darkest' episode in the history of TV series was a blur and we're really looking forward to some closure. © HBO A lot of fan theories are going about on the internet and we caught hold of one which made a lot of sense. Because we do need a close ended scenario here! So, do you remember the scene when Jon is trying to fight the zombie dragon, towards the end? Well, to be honest Jon didn't do much throughout the episode. He was either flying his dragon with his lover or fighting a dead dragon. But now it seems like he was helping Arya out in the end. How you ask? Well, according to a fan, while Jon was fighting and screaming at the dead dragon, he wasn't just randomly screaming at the dragon. Then what was he screaming at? © HBO Here's what the fan posted on Reddit about this theory: "Jon screamed at the undead dragon to distract it so Arya can run past and kill the Night King. The undead dragon was protecting the entrance to the Godswood. Watch it again, you can actually hear him scream 'GOOOOO – GO – GO.' 10 seconds later the scene you can see the hair of a White Walker flying up when Arya sprints past the group of White Walkers. Jon once again was ready to sacrifice himself to kill the Night King." So, basically, the dragon was manning the entry to the Godswood, so to distract him Jon started fighting him and yelling 'GO' to Arya at the same time. That'll be one interesting theory if it does come true. It'll certainly give us a fair amount of closure if nothing else! Which also means, everything was plotted and planned carefully in order to kill the Night King. But how does Arya fly all the way over to him and how is it that no one hears her coming? © HBO Well, take a look at the ending anyway, just so you can get a clearer sense of it: So, let's also add the fact that Jon was probably sacrificing himself to make Arya the last hero. Is that a fact? I want to certainly believe it because let's face it, it's Jon! Since this seems quite probable, I am really hoping they break certain revelations to us in episode 4, so we can be at peace and forgive HBO for forgetting to add enough light to watch the damn episode.
  9. Earlier this year, the whole world was talking about a certain Rozi Khan from Pakistan. Why? Because he looks strikingly similar to actor Peter Dinklage aka Tyrion Lannister from 'Game Of Thrones'. © HBO On one hand, where people were losing their minds over 'Game Of Thrones' that has now entered its final season, Khan wasn't even aware of Dinklage or the show or the popularity that he was enjoying for being his doppelganger. © AFP However, things have now changed and how. From being someone who had never heard about the show to making his acting debut as Tyrion Lannister; Khan has come a long way in a really short time. You read it right! © YouTube Rozi Khan, who is a waiter by profession, just got a lead role in a food commercial in Pakistan. In the commercial, he is seen dressed as 'Tyrion Lannister' with people coming to him to click selfies and get autographs. In fact, the makers of this advertisement sure knew how to cash in on his popularity and that of the show, as they included references from 'GOT'. The ad shows people walking up to him and saying things like 'Winter is coming', 'Please tell, what happens at the end?' and 'I heard, you always pay your debts'. We wonder what the real Tyrion Lannister will say once he sees this commercial.
  10. The Battle Of Winterfell is done and dusted with. However, do you really think that all the business with the Night King is over? I mean, sire, the battle with Cersei matters more and is probably central to 'Game Of Thrones'. But do you really think that the Night King and his Army of the Dead, which was hyped since season 1, would go down this easily? But here's the thing, the great Battle of Winterfell was not without flaws of its own. Like, what was Bran up to while Theon was fighting away the dead. Why would Bran willingly send off Theon to his death? Why are all the main characters or at least the characters whose storylines matter, dead? Wasn't 'Game Of Thrones' built on the principle of catching the audience off guard killing people off who mattered? That's the alarming part and we're not even getting any answers. However, there is a new theory that suggests the unthinkable. So, far, we've thought of Cersei, Sansa, and even the Dragon Queen Daenerys as evil and a possible threat to the Iron Throne. But, what if it's none of them but Bran? What if Bran is the villain everyone should be afraid of? In a Reddit post from user ColdBeing titled “Something just doesn't feel right,” ColdBeing expresses suspicion about the Night King's demise (something that outraged most fans after the third episode of GOT). “They hyped up The Night King for seasons upon seasons, years upon years and this is how he goes out? There's just no way,” the Redditor wrote. They also questioned why Bran warged for so long while Theon was defending him. “Could he have been making a deal with The Night King?” Then, here's a tweet that complicates everything: How did the #NightKing change Craster's babies? By touching them. How did he change Viserion? By touching it. What did Bloodraven say to #BranStark in the cave? "He touched you."#foodforthought#nightking #GameofThrones — Vladimir Furdik (@Vladimir_furdik) April 28, 2019 The theory notes how strange it is that Bran appreciated Theon Greyjoy for being a good man right before he ran to his death. Even when he knows, all the trauma has made him, well a little aloof. © HBO So, while it was great to see Arya plunge the Valyrian steel dagger in the Night King's heart, something isn't quite adding up. And the thing is, Game Of Thrones is good at this sort of a thing where they surprise the audience out of nowhere. Could this be why Bran has been straight off cold and stoic this season? Or the fact that it's just Bran's body and the three-eyed Raven's soul, but then at what point did Bran leave the body? We will only find out in the next episode, hopefully.
  11. Sansa Stark has had her share of worries throughout the series and we've all been wary of it. She's gone through the most out of all the characters and has come out unscathed and alive and transformed rather beautifully to become one of the strongest characters in the series. Her relationships in the past with a few men though haven't been very pleasant and each one she's fathomed has been more challenging than the last. It all started with her courtship with Joffrey, where she was promised to him in the form of an alliance. When it didn't work out, she was seen as a fit match for Tyrion Lannister, as Tywin thought it would serve him well if he married his son off to a Stark. When that fell through, Little Finger piled her over to Ramsay Bolton who was absolutely ruthless and gruesome in his ways. Somewhere in the middle, Sansa dealt with Little Finger's obsession and mind games which he paid for later. (c)HBO If we look back now, her trajectory has been rough and when in Season 8 she meets Tyrion again, we see a form of relief in her demeanour. It seems like she's been through the worst and now she's in a place in her life where she can make her own choices with some sensible people around. There isn't much interaction between the two until they're found together in episode 3 of the same season. The two take refuge with the other women and children in the crypt during the battle of Winterfell and they go way back in time to when they were actually married. It's believed in Westeros that if you don't consummate your marriage, you're not technically married and the two never did. But even so, if you've seen the episode, the two discussed the 'elephant' in the room while down at the crypt and delved into the 'what ifs'. (c)HBO Of course, Sansa and Tyrion didn't get to say goodbye to each other the last time they were 'officially' together. The two had immense respect for one another and that was fairly visible from their interaction. The conversation started with the awkwardness of the fact that Tyrion is currently the Hand Of The Queen, whom Sansa is disapproving of. Sansa also said that if they were married now, 'it would have never worked out', as Tyrion's alliance was towards the Dragon Queen. She also mentioned that he was the best out of the lot, to which Tyrion snarkily said it doesn't really account to much. (c)HBO Having said all that, Tyrion and Sansa did share an emotional and tender moment when the dead were attacking the crypt. Both hid behind a tomb and before they were getting ready to face their enemy, Tyrion took Sansa's hand and kissed it. We were worried that either wouldn't make it alive post the zombie apocalypse but since the Night King was defeated, all the main characters, except a few are alive, including Tyrion and Sansa. (c)HBO Now what remains to be seen is a little confusing. Yes, Tyrion and Sansa did share a moment of brief intimacy when they were being attacked. But was that because they both believed they were going to die and it was a sweet farewell or was it because both realised they may have feelings for each other and it wasn't just a sham marriage? Sansa's concern is the Dragon Lady, of course, but she wasn't absolutely opposed to the idea of Tyrion when the topic was being discussed. Can we talk about this scene between Sansa and Tyrion? this change everything! the board is moving... #GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/4Dj3u6s7ns — Re'lar Fer (@LuisFernandoSR) 29 April 2019 Could Tyrion and Sansa fall in love? I mean, judging by the men Sansa has been with, who were not so nice to her, Tyrion was like a breath of fresh air. He took care of her and always let her have her way. Since a little girl, Sansa has always dreamt of the perfect man, a handsome prince who would ask for her hand in marriage and that's why she was always disgusted by the prospect of marrying Tyrion. But now, because he's been the man that no one could, could she fall in love with someone she never dreamt of falling in love with? this scene with sansa and tyrion was one of the best parts of the episode. they have one of the best dynamics on the show and they truly thought they were going to die together. so fucking heart wrenching. #GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/boOdt3plkT — ðð ‎âï¸ (@briesstark) 29 April 2019 Well, with Theon gone, if Sansa was to end up with anyone in the series, Tyrion would make the most sense. The two were married before, they know each other well, they respect each other and they're part of one of the greatest houses in the Seven Kingdoms. The only thing left to see is that if this does unfold, will Tyrion change his allegiance from Dany and Snow towards Sansa, while Sansa rules the North or will Sansa change her opinion on Dany's position in power, and give in to what Dany wants so that Sansa can make things work with Tyrion? Well, it's all left to speculation but Sansa better hurry. I don't think there are many men left after the Battle of Winterfell anyway!
  12. Apple has updated its line of smart battery cases for the current generation on iPhones and the Cupertino giant has not only refined them but made them work in the favour of iPhones. The iPhone XR already has an impressive battery life and with the addition of the new Smart Battery Case, we were astonished as to how many hours our iPhones lasted. We got the smart battery case for the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR and couldn't be happier with its performance. The new iPhone Smart Battery Case costs Rs 11,900 in India and here's our detailed analysis to let you know why it's worth it. How Does It Look? © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Apple follows a similar design ethos as the original Smart Battery Case. However, there are a few design features that have changed from before. It has the same soft silicone material as the normal covers but has changed ergonomically. It has micro-fibre in the inside so that it keeps your iPhone clean and now has a light that lights up when you charge the case separately. The hump at the back is now evenly distributed and extends to the bottom of the case. At the front, Apple has also removed the chin so that you can now use gestures easily to navigate on your iPhone. The top end of the Smart Battery Case is bendable which you use to slip in your iPhone. Do make sure that you slide in the phone rather than popping it in as you can damage the lightning port inside the cover. Having said that the Smart Battery Case is refined ergonomically, the case does make your phone heavier. It's also quite thick which can be an issue for people who like to wear tight fitted jeans/bottoms. How Does It Work © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Smart Battery Case is integrated with iOS and you can see the status of your battery on the lock screen or on the battery widget. The Smart Battery Case has a dedicated Lightning port which means you can charge the case and iPhone at the same time. The case offers Lightning Passthrough which makes it easier to charge both devices at the same time. You should note that it will charge the iPhone first and then the Smart Battery Case. You can even fast charge both devices as the Smart Battery Case also supports USB-PD (power delivery). You will need Apple's fast charger and USB-C to lightning cable in order for this to work. © Apple You can even charge both the case and the iPhone wirelessly as it works almost the same as it does via the wall charger. The iPhone will get the priority and then it will charge the Smart Battery Case. How's The Battery Life? When it comes to battery discharge, the Smart Battery Case keeps the iPhone charged to 100% for almost an entire day. The iPhone first consumes juice from the smart case and then starts to use its own battery when the juice on the case is depleted. This effectively made the iPhone XR last up to almost two full days (42 hours) on a single charge and the iPhone XS Max for around 38 hours. Do note that we used both the smartphones as our daily drivers that included hours of browsing, GPS navigation, a little bit of gaming and a lot of emails. If you are the kind of iPhone user who spends most of the day on your phone and your life depends on it, this accessory is a no brainer. Sure, it's expensive but it is probably the most comprehensive and reliable battery case you can get. It's integrated with iOS and has smart charging features that you won't find in any third party smart battery cases. It works wirelessly and can also be charged rapidly with Apple's fast charger. iPhone cases are our favourite accessories for the phones, and if you are planning to buy one soon; why not extend your battery life while you're at it?
  13. We woke up to news about the Galaxy Fold suffering damages to the screen when it was handed out to journalists. Early impressions of the smartphone were great but it turned out that some of the devices were suffering from display damage. Even though there were complaints from reviewers, the damage was partly due to user error. © Twitter_MKBD The Galaxy Fold comes with a protective layer that protects the foldable smartphone from scratches and debris. In fact, many of the reviewers voluntarily removed the protective layer wig make the smartphone susceptible to damage. It may have been a genuine mistake because Samsung does not clearly warn users from not removing the protective layer. PSA: There's a layer that appears to be a screen protector on the Galaxy Fold's display. It's NOT a screen protector. Do NOT remove it. I got this far peeling it off before the display spazzed and blacked out. Started over with a replacement. pic.twitter.com/ZhEG2Bqulr — Marques Brownlee (@MKBHD) April 17, 2019 To be honest, the protective layer on the phone was doing the job it was supposed and we finally got to see what would happen when removed. Samsung will now give a clear warning with the Galaxy Fold so that other users don't end up making the same mistake. © The Verge_Twitter In a statement, Samsung said “A limited number of early Galaxy Fold samples were provided to media for review. We have received a few reports regarding the main display on the samples provided. We will thoroughly inspect these units in person to determine the cause of the matter. Separately, a few reviewers reported having removed the top layer of the display causing damage to the screen. The main display on the Galaxy Fold features a top protective layer, which is part of the display structure designed to protect the screen from unintended scratches. Removing the protective layer or adding adhesives to the main display may cause damage. We will ensure this information is clearly delivered to our customers.” The foldable smartphone will go on sale and is on track but will now come with prior warnings about the protective layer. The Galaxy Fold will also be coming to India soon as it was confirmed by DJ Koh at the India Samsung Galaxy S10 launch.
  14. We are less than two weeks away from experiencing the end of an era when the final piece of the current phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 'Avengers: Endgame' drops in theatres worldwide on 26th April 2019 and nerdy people like us from all around the world have dedicated their lives to predict what the three-hour long movie has in store for us. Such a responsibility, therefore, leads to the formation of numerous theories and speculations ranging from “meh” to absolutely bizarre reactions from the audience and a seemingly endless flow of discussion. One such theory talks about the final outcome of 'Endgame' and the role of Doctor Stephen Strange, who's currently in the 'dust' form on Thanos' home planet of Titan. Before Peter Quill a.k.a. the main reason behind the destruction of half the universe, decided to ruin the ad hoc Avengers' plan to get the Infinity gauntlet out of Thanos' hand, Strange spoke of about 1,40,00,605 scenarios in the future and that there was only one favourable possibility for all of humanity. And during the events of 'Infinity War', Doctor Strange was forced to choose between the life of Tony Stark and his beloved Time Stone and he decided to keep Iron Man alive while giving the Infinity stone to the 'Mad Titan'. Strange later told Stark that it was important for him to stay alive if that one possibility were to come true. via GIPHY Now, if you rewatch the scene from the movie when Strange gives the Time Stone to Thanos, you'd notice that it is glowing and that too not a dull, smouldering glow but the kind each of the stones glow when they are being actively used. via GIPHY This suggests that Stephen Strange might be using the Time stone while surrendering it, maybe even to create a time loop as he did to trap Dormammu and protect the rest of the planet from danger in “real-time”. A couple of months ago, a Redditor by the name of RahulVijh had forward a theory according to which Strange had trapped the Avengers and Thanos in a similar time loop at this point to ensure that they finally reach that one outcome, regardless of how many retakes goes into getting there. The glowing of the stone, therefore, might signal the starting point of the loop. What also gives this argument further weightage is how the trailers for 'Endgame' have been including a lot of footage from the previous movies in the timeline. Also, directors, Anthony and Joseph Russo have admitted to tweaking some clips from older movies to make them look a little different than each other, suggesting all the minor differences that may have occurred in the various times that particular event took place. via GIPHY The more you pay attention to the theory, the more sense it makes and with Dr Strange probably being the only person on the good guys' side, who has the ability to see the future outcomes, the conjecture might be worth putting some thought into.
  15. One of the most prolific batsmen of the Indian team, KL Rahul, went on to achieve yet another milestone by scoring his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) ton against the mighty Mumbai Indians (MI) on 10th April. Not being able to perform in the opening two matches, Rahul has been on fire ever since. Scoring three half-centuries with a staggering strike-rate, the Karnataka boy made a point to carry on his fine form and convert his healthy start into a three-figure individual score against the Mumbai Paltan. Setting the tone well for the game from the very beginning, Rahul alongside 'Universal Boss' Chris Gayle got KXIP to a flyer with a 116-run opening stand. Once the 'Gayle Storm'was averted on 63, Rahul carried the baton for the visitors, notching up his maiden IPL ton in mere 64 balls and propelling his team to a competitive total of 197 runs. © AP Despite being aided by some brilliant batting performances from their star batsmen, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) couldn't restrict Gayle's Caribbean counterpart -Kieron Pollard - from snatching the game away from them. Scoring 83 runs in 31 balls with 10 massive sixes, Pollard played a classic captain's knock which also earned him the 'Man of the Match' award. But nonetheless, we still believe that KL Rahul played a game-defining innings for his team but they couldn't capitalise in the end. With some amazing performances in the first seven matches itself, Rahul not only earned the second place in the race for “The Orange Cap” with 317 runs to his name, but might have also booked his berth in Team India's squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup which is expected to be announced on 15th April.
  16. Nothing is too difficult or unachievable when you set your heart to it and every other day, someone or the other proves this right with their inspiring stories. In today's edition, we'll talk about the inspiring story of Brijmohan Meena, a gardener's son from Jaipur who cracked this year's UPSC exam. Before the UPSC results were out, people would rarely notice Murlidhar Meena. For most people, he was a man quietly watering plants at the BJP headquarters in Jaipur. But today, people know him as Brijmohan's father and are congratulating him for his younger son's achievement. Pexels This was Brijmohan's second attempt wherein he got the 713 rank, but he says that he will appear for the exam next year again and try to improve his rank. Brijmohan said, "I wanted to become an engineer but my father and brother coaxed me to sit for the UPSC exam. I am grateful to my family for their support." He added, "My parents have made a lot of sacrifices for us. Though we were not rich, my father never denied us anything. He struggled to give us the best he could. I want to make my father and my family proud and happy." According to a report in Hindustan Times, 57-year-old Meena who studied up to class 5, is employed as a gardener in the PWD department and says that it was a dream to watch his kids become IAS or IPS officers. He said, "I was posted at the secretariat, the state legislative assembly and other government offices during my tenure. I used to see all the officers and I realised that if I could give a good education to my sons, they too could become officers." Twitter Brijmohan has cleared UPSC and his elder brother is a senior auditor in the Accountant General's office in Goa. Meena takes immense pride in his job as a gardener and says that he will continue doing his job, "I will continue to work. One should not give up working. I don't want to be a burden on my sons. Gardening is my passion. Even after I retire, I will continue to do something." When I call Brijmohan a gardener's son, I am in no way trying to demean him or his father. But, the point I am trying to make here is that when most of us are busy looking for an excuse for not being able to achieve our dreams, there's someone somewhere achieving their dreams despite having limited resources. Brijmohan and his father are two such inspiring people.
  17. Amazon founder and world's richest man, Jeff Bezos, has finally settled the long talked-about divorce with wife MacKenzie Bezos, making it the world's most expensive divorce ever. L'Oréal's Francoise Bettencourt Meyers is the world's richest woman with 52.9 billion dollars to her name, while Walmart's Alice Walton is the second-richest with 45 billion dollars in her bank account. All in all, MacKenzie Bezos would be the world's 26th richest person after her expensive divorce from Jeff Bezos. © Twitter We wonder where this leaves Jeff Bezos now. It has been announced that Jeff will continue to retain 75 percent of his stock in the company following the divorce. The divorce shall not take away Jeff's influence over the workings of Amazon. He will continue to be the largest shareholder in the company. © Twitter While Jeff Bezos is one of the world's most successful businessmen with Amazon, MacKensie, too, is an accomplished author who won an American Book Award for her debut novel 'The Testing of Luther Albright'. We wish the couple well for the future that awaits them.
  18. An integral part of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years, Kieron Pollard hasn't quite come to the party as far as the ongoing season is concerned. While the likes of Andre Russell, Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo have made an impact, Pollard has struggled to get going in the initial stage of the tournament. The right-handed batsman couldn't score more than 21 runs as Mumbai succumbed to a 37-run loss in their opening match. While Mumbai bounced back in the second match with a six-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Pollard was only able to add a six-ball five to his team. The big West Indian's struggles continued in the third match where he was dismissed for a nine-ball seven against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Twitter/@IPL Struggling with the bat and not getting a chance to bowl, Pollard's batting slump attracted immense criticism, with the cricket pundits suggesting he should be dropped for the crucial tie against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 3rd April. But, Rohit Sharma and Mumbai's team management continued to trust Pollard and the Trinidadian didn't disappoint. Repaying the faith of his captain, Pollard was part of a carnage that was finished by swashbuckling Hardik Pandya. While the West Indies cricketer slammed a seven-ball 17, Pandya ran riot during his eight-ball 25. The duo hammered Dwayne Bravo all around the park to score a staggering 29 runs off the final over. But, timing his jump to perfection, the Mumbai all-rounder produced enough airtime (something that would surely make Michael Jordan feel proud) that it allowed him to pluck the ball in thin air during an incredible one-handed effort. While Mumbai brought an end to Chennai's three-match winning streak after an emphatic 37-run triumph, Pollard's unbelievable fielding effort earned him plaudits on the social media. Helps to be tall! 19. The latest tiny teaser of the final season of 'Game Of Thrones' dropped on us casually last evening. It had no characters running on the screen, no fire, no dragons; but yet, it has left everyone scared and boggled with a few questions. Now some of us GOT fans have probably read through the lines and seen the unseen and some of you out there probably are getting excited for the final season to just dawn upon us. Anyway, if you still are looking for any clues, allow us to help. Here's a detailed analysis of what the trailer probably wants us to fathom: There's a dragon glass that we spot in there which is the only tool that can possibly help a human take on a White Walker, so you know the epic battle is going to be gruesome. © HBO Around 10 seconds into the trailer, you'll spot the tiny 'hand of the King' which we all know belongs to Tyrion. So something has happened to him, or maybe not? © HBO We also spot Arya and Bran's sword and wheelchair frozen in time and in snow, so clearly more destruction is in store. © HBO The scary part is when you see Jamie's hand frozen and just casually lying there. We'll be sad to see him dead, TBH. © HBO Also, towards the end of the teaser when we see this scene with the sword, you can see a shadow forming around it, and a lot of Reddit users believe that it's the Night King himself. © HBO Well, until now, we have been programmed to believe that this guy is the ultimate enemy of the world right there. However, the poor guy might have some backstory which led to his doom and now why he'd pledged he just wants an army of dead people. This teaser sure turned our beloved Winterfell into a Wintehell actually but the whys and the hows will only be answered in 10 days now.
  20. A couple of years back, a relatively unknown – at least in the Indian subcontinent – Hasan Minhaj furthered the politician-comedian parentification (don't look up the dictionary; the meme below explains the meaning of this word better) through his White House correspondents' dinner address. He took digs at the bigotry of Donald Trump & Co, but that didn't make much of an impact in India because, of course, we're stuck in deep shit of our own. © 9gag Over the course of this weekend though, the American comedian of Indian origin finally turned towards the subcontinent in an outright courageous, half-an-hour long episode about the upcoming Indian general assembly elections, on the second season of his Netflix original 'Patriot Act'. And since it touched a lot of nerves, India is kinda…umm abuzz. “Since [Narendra] Modi came to power, India has grown more hostile to minority groups. There's been a resurgence in religious nationalism, specifically Hindu nationalism, the idea that India is a Hindu nation,” opens the monologue. Ha! How dare? A bunch of trolls on my Twitter, and some of you reading this on MensXP (judging by the quality – or the lack of thereof, of a lot of comments on our Facebook page), would disagree. But the bad news for you guys is that he backs it up with solid facts (not Whatsapp forwards and 4Chan theories) to tell you how almost 300 people have been physically assaulted (including the 50 killed) in cow-related violence in India. But I don't expect this lot to understand, let alone be empathetic. After all, I was called a 'cow-eater' just last week on a metro ride to work, because I had put on a kurta (serious offence in this day and age of pigeonholed points of view). So Hasan's Pakistani (then Qatar and then Iran) spy joke hits home instantly. Me reading the comments on the latest episode. https://t.co/dSUYanFAuD pic.twitter.com/btFPPyvoE4 — Hasan Minhaj (@hasanminhaj) March 18, 2019 That's not the only talking point from the episode. An unflinching Minhaj goes on to poke fun at the Indian TV media community that is drawing the ire of international compatriots, especially for its role in the coverage of the recent Indo-Pak tensions. More TV anchors let out war cries than the concerned people and more TV studios were turned into battlefields than the actual ones. If truth be spoken, sane debates – both on air and off it, seem like a distant memory. Trust me, I'm an ex-Muslim man in the 'media business,' and get to physically interact with maybe more people than the average Indian bhakt. In his own style, Minhaj also interviews Indian National Congress' outspoken Member of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor for the episode (FYI, he failed to get a response from the Bharatiya Janata Party and, going by his Twitter handle, Chowkidar Narendra Modi, 'who is the first PM in the country to never hold a press conference'). The comedian goes on to revive the age-old joke of the direct proportionality between an Indian politician and the number of criminal charges against them. For crying out loud, he confronted Tharoor about his wife's murder during their interview. It's a real moment of pride when this is the actual state of Indian media at present. And finally, he also addresses the He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named of Indian politics, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) (yes, my name is Khan and I'm not a terrorist). Minhaj calls upon their problematic history and Narendra Modi's close ties with them, with reference to the rise of right-wing politics across the world in the recent past. Apart from Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adiyanath's 'Aap Ki Adalat' appearance with Rajat Sharma (another TV anchor with dicey political ties), former chief MS Golwalkar deciding to name his book 'A Bunch of Thoughts' also became the butt of his jokes. I didn't listen. #NowStreaming pic.twitter.com/7fnuDuaImW — Hasan Minhaj (@hasanminhaj) March 17, 2019 The Twitter troll army, surprisingly, did stay away from going all-out in harassing Minhaj (at least in the first 24 hours of the episode's release), despite him poking ample fun at Modiji & Co. That's, in some ways, a testimony to the narrative's middle-of-the-road approach, and in a lot of ways an unlikely masterclass for Indian TV media. Well, these were my bunch of thoughts on the show and how Minhaj's rational, hilarious, and neutral take on the Indian political climate, and the dire state of our TV 'journalism'. For Lotus Fashion Week 2019, Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, a renowned campaigner against child labour, led a group of designers to pledge a child labour-free production in the Indian fashion industry. © Twitter "There are about 500 million children in the world who are forced into child labour. Through this pledge, we promise to stop hiring children at workplace," Satyarthi announced. © Twitter The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has collaborated with Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation (KSCF) to launch #Notmadebychildren campaign. The campaign aims to stop child labour in India's fashion and textile industries. This movement, according to Satyarthi, and the initiative is the "start of a new movement in India". © Twitter Designers like Rina Dhaka, Rahul Mishra and Reynu Taandon were a part of the pledge ceremony.
  22. Life is too short to give in to the whims and negativity that pervades the virtual space today. Trolls can be found lurking in abundance at every click of the mouse and turn people's lives into a living hell with their unsolicited hate comments and opinions. It doesn't take much for online trolls to attack unsuspecting people on social media platforms, and they don't spare the individual on the other side of the illuminated screen, whether that is a man, woman or child, or even a celebrity for that matter. The only thing a troll knows when they set out to troll the shit out of an individual is this wrong belief that they somehow have the authority and upper hand to spew hate and negativity directed at an individual. © Pinterest All of which may or may not have come from any personal impact or motivation, these trolls go about brandishing their sharp words and wound people. Though majority of people who get trolled choose to “stay mum and ignore” such nuisances, every once in a while we also come across those who step up and give the trolls a taste of their own medicine. © Twitter Recently, India Today released a preview of its latest episode of 'Jab We Met' on Twitter featuring host Rahul Kanwal and guest Ananya Birla, the heiress of the Aditya Birla Group and daughter of Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla. The short video showed Ananya, a UK club level footballer in a football faceoff showing off her skills. It's a football showdown between @ananya_birla & @rahulkanwal this weekend on #JabWeMet. Ananya is also a UK club level footballer and has given a whole new meaning to the word multi-talented. Reporter reporting on millionaires daughter — GurpreetSgill (@gurpreetgill) March 10, 2019 The user left a comment stating “reporter reporting on millionaires daughter”. This didn't go with Ananya and instead of ignoring it she called out her troll and gave him a piece of her mind, by not only pointing out that every person has their individual merits to show for, but also that he is wrong in calling her father a “millionaire” since he is actually a billionaire. So? I'm human too ð we achieve things on our own esteem too and we must share that. And just btw, my dad is a billionaire not a millionaire. ðð¤ sorry not sorry âð½ https://t.co/YtX4YM05Rm — Ananya Birla (@ananya_birla) March 10, 2019 We think Ananya had the perfect response for her troll and we sure need more of such approaches when dealing with trolls who have nothing more to do with their lives than drop baseless opinions everywhere they go.
  23. The twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League is about to start in less than a month and the hype is escalating on a Godly level. To add fuel to the fire, the new promo has been launched and it surely does justice to all the madness that surrounds an entity that is potentially the most loved league in the country. 8 teams, 1 motto - 1 trophy ð The countdown to the 2019 #VIVOIPL begins ð§®âï¸ðð ARE YOU READY? pic.twitter.com/rk9h1gd8ng — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) March 5, 2019 In the new promo, a creative parallel has been drawn between the professional cricketers who represent the country on the international level and the young enthusiasts who keep the craze going on the streets. The minute-and-a-half footage deals with the two sides trying to fight against each other over the desire to play the game of cricket they both love equally. Both try to crush the other side behind the wall and acquire as much of the playing space as the can. There's a moment when the 'gully boys' are gaining advance over the Men in Blue, who are now dressed in the colourful jerseys of the cities they will be representing in the upcoming season and Thala aka Mahendra Singh Dhoni, makes an epic entry for his boys, driving a massive road-roller into the equation. This may be a tribute to Mahi's ability to show up in the clutch and like a superhero, single-handedly finish the game in favour of his side. MSD, however, also shows other characteristics of a superhero as he gets rid of the 'wall' that divided the young fans from the players, bringing the youngsters to his side. When one of the aspirants comes forward to introduce himself, the captain of Team India and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli stops him in his way and says: “Name chhodh… Game dikha.” This seems to be the narrative that is going surround this IPL season. With numerous new striplings making their way to all the glitz and glamour, it is their game that will help them make their name in the cricketing world. Fans on Twitter are running out of ways to praising this new promo: BEST IPL ADDDD EVER......ð¤©ð — Rahul Chakrabarty (@rahulchoco7) March 5, 2019 @iamkarthi_V Best promo till date. :) — Prabhu Kandasamy (@PrabhuK_PK) March 5, 2019 Entry of msâ¤ï¸ — Vamshi (@svamshi183) March 5, 2019 ð¥ð¥ð¥ðð — Ràjá RãjPûT (@Prabhat17605793) March 5, 2019 Brilliant!ð ð¶ðµð§ðµð¶ — Kedar Kulkarni (@outwidit) March 5, 2019
  24. Yes, the Indian cricket team lost the two-match T20I series against the visiting Aussies and yes, it is for the first time in 40 months that the Men in Blue have lost a series on their own soil. It's just one of those things you can't and mustn't complain about. This is where the sportsman spirit steps in: to be equally content in wins and losses. Major props to Glenn Maxwell who delivered under extreme pressure to seal the deal for the Australia cricket team and also made a case for himself before the selections of the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 as he scored an unbelievable 119 off just 55 deliveries. But we are here to talk about 'Thala' himself! Mahendra Singh Dhoni, at 37 years of age continues to show the batting and fitness abilities of a 25-year-old athlete. Flexible Dhoni â¤ð¥ 2.14m ðpic.twitter.com/fTnSwULGTP — Ponraj (@goking2000) February 28, 2019 In the 11th over of Team India's innings, Dhoni went of out the crease to try and hit a big one but Adam Zampa's delivery went on to be wide, completely out of the Indian batsman's range. His wicket-keeping instincts quickly took over as he extended his right leg for an astonishing 2.14 metres to get inside the line to avoid being stumped by Australian keeper Peter Handscomb. The third umpire gave a decision in favour of the batsman as the replay showed that Dhoni was too quick and well inside the crease for Handscomb to knock the bails off. Mahi had shown off his flexibility once before as well in a match against New Zealand in November 2017. Forming a solid partnership with Indian skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed scoring just a single, Mahi gathered a much-needed 44 in just 22 balls and it was as if the number of Dhoni haters suddenly dropped to zero. 25. The Indian Army is the largest standing volunteer army in the world, which is not only known for its bravado and daredevilry when it comes to standing guard over their motherland, but its soldiers also inspire awe and unceasing respect for their selflessless service towards the nation. All of us feel strongly about these men and women who dare to face death in their line of duty. After all, we owe so much of the life we're living to them. It is their sacrifice and selfless passion to serve the country and its people, that allows us to enjoy the kind of safe and fun life we lead, day after day. © Twitter But how often do we stop to acknowledge their service and pay homage to their sacrifices? Well, a martyred soldier's 6-year-old daughter recalls her papa's lessons on the Indian Army, and it will remind you to take a moment and appreciate the numerous lives that constantly look death in the eye, so that innocent lives can be saved. © Honourpoint On 29th November 2016, Major Akshay Girish Kumar and Major Gosavi Kunal Mannadir were killed in an ambush in Nagrota, along with five other jawans. Two years since his passing away, Akshay's little daughter was seen recalling her father's teachings about the Indian Army in a video, which has since been actively circulated on social media. In the video Akshay's daughter Naina can be seen telling us what her father told her about the Indian Army. Check out the video here: A year after Akshay's martyrdom, Naina recollects conversations with her papa. Here she teaches us what 'Army is...' This random video captures innocence and faith. Love is an emotion. Her papa's love for the Army and Countrymen also stays within her.
