  1. TV actors in the Indian industry are not just about good acting or playing second fiddle to lead women in 'saas bahu' dramas anymore. With the evolution of content on Indian television, the quality of acting and the way our actors portray themselves have remarkably changed in the last few years. Rajat Tokas, who is best known as Prithiviraj Chauhan and is currently seen in 'Naagin 3', has undergone quite an unbelievable transformation in the recent times. © Instagram Yeah, that's the same guy, with a better body and even better acting skills now. While his fans have been wondering how did this happen, Rajat has managed to surprise everyone continuously when he became super ripped for his stint in 'Naagin 3'. View this post on Instagram It's so disappointing that after so much hardwork, there's different angles to make you look good or bad. A post shared by Rajat Tokas (@rajattokas19) on Sep 30, 2018 at 1:53am PDT View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rajat Tokas (@rajattokas19) on Oct 23, 2018 at 3:16am PDT Get it? How they hell he manages to work round the clock and maintain that crazy physique is beyond our understanding but the talented actor is not letting anything stop him now. Rajat recently shared a picture of his ripped self urging Marvel Studios to actually cast him as the next Wolverine and well, the man's got the abs to back it up as well. View this post on Instagram @marvelstudios all I need is one opportunity to prove myself. And trust me I won't disappoint. Never have, never will. Will literally live and breathe the character... A post shared by Rajat Tokas (@rajattokas19) on Feb 7, 2019 at 9:33pm PST Wonder what Hugh Jackman has got to say about Rajat being in his shoes! © Marvel Well, if the hunt is indeed on, we'd love to see our 'desi' Wolverine get some claws and nail the character.
  2. Paul Wight, more commonly known as Big Show, has been in the business of bursting his opponents' chests with open-arm slaps and knocking them out with a direct punch to the face with a fist as big as a freaking frying pan for a little over 24 years. Making his not-so-impressive debut with the World Wrestling Association on 24th December 1994 - a match he lost by countout - Big Show made it to the big stage a year later with the World Championship Wrestling. Getting into some of the greatest duels with the biggest names of the wrestling world like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage, Big Show soon became one of the top in-ring performers in the world. According to his fellow wrestlers, an extremely 'safe' wrestler to perform against, the 7-feet-tall Show had constant health issues because of his massive size and heavy weight resulting in major medical problems such as having an irregular heartbeat, chewed out joints and constant agony for years. Shifting between 'fat' and 'less-fat' body types, over the years, Big Show often asked the typically jacked colleagues like Triple H and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson about their diet plans but could never get a definite response out of them. “When you take the time and do the research (about nutrition) it's more about what suits you, not what suits everybody,” Show spoke out on Conan O'Brien's chat show. One fine day, in what was a comparatively short conversation between Big Show and John Cena, Show talked about how weird it would be for the giant to have abs and Cena said: “Yeah. A giant with abs. That wouldn't be marketable at all,” as he walked away. Cena's words brought a reality check for the wrestler. He realised that coming up with a complete transformation would not only bring him better health, it could also bring along a new in-ring life for the athlete who was desperately searching for his lost mojo. “You don't make the transformation I've made without a serious commitment to changing 40 years of improper diet and improper training,” he told WWE.com. “I wanted to make a change, and I was given the time and opportunity to make a change, so I took advantage of it.” While in the initial days of Show's new determination to transform himself, his body didn't respond to his efforts uniformly, but as the kilos dropped, his muscular physique soon began to come out, which further motivated the big man to do better. The result? Hey @Shaq...glad your training!! Because so am I! #GiantAbs #WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/1WepdkHqWj — “The Big Show” Paul Wight (@WWETheBigShow) January 15, 2017 Show's heaviest was 244 kg. He brought it down to 210 kg and finally Show's current weight is a phenomenal 170 kg! What's really worth marvelling at is the fact that Show not only lost so much weight but also kept his muscles. And guess what, a giant with the giant abs and giant biceps looks a lot more terrifying (a lot more sellable) as compared to a blob moving around the ring with a broken hip in his black tiny spandex! We hope to see Paul 'Big Show' Wight back on the WWE roster soon. Until then, let's leave the big guy to himself with a small 'Happy birthday' note.

  4. Instead of the Avengers assembling, this time we had a pure moment of Marvel fans assembling to make a dying man's wish come true. A 33-year-old Marvel fan from Australia named Alexander is suffering from liver cancer, mouth cancer, and the rare genetic disease Fanconi anaemia which affects the bone marrow, and he thinks he could die before the official release of the movie 'Avengers: Endgame'. Being a huge fan, he decided to try his luck and asked people to help him get an early screening of the movie with a post on Reddit. But, he also noted he's “not a child or anyone with a particularly tragic story”, just a normal guy. He thought he would make it to April, but his “bone marrow is toast”. It's good to see that even with so much happening, Alexander hasn't lost his sense of humour since the Reddit thread is called “Dying Before April: My Endgame”. Obviously, anyone would do anything to catch an early screening of one of the most awaited movies, but this is a special case and all the Marvel fans united to get Marvel and Disney to take notice. The internet came together and the hashtag #Avengers4Alexander spread on Twitter. With an update on the original post, he informed everyone that even apparently Chris Hemsworth, God of Thunder himself is aware of the situation because “Australia is a small place, turns out I know a guy who knows a guy who is chums with Chris Hemsworth”. With so many well wishes coming his way, he also wrote, “I don't know what the outcome will be but this has been amazing. If it doesn't pan out don't sweat it - I'll carry your kind words with me and that's worth far more.” He also took a cheeky shot and said, “Lastly, I don't mean to be greedy but since I'm triple dying can we throw Captain Marvel into the mix?” With this request, he also shared a picture of his dog as a bribe. And then, it finally happened, Disney reached out to him and the whole thing turned into one of the those rare, beautiful internet moments where everyone works together. Sharing the exciting news, his last update on the Reddit post is - “Disney have reached out and we are discussing options. I cried when I read their email. It's everything I hoped for and I owe it to all of you.” People on Twitter are also very excited about his wish come true and have nothing but appreciation for everyone who held make it happen. A man will get his dying wish fulfilled. Thanks to the beautiful internet. 10 years back this wouldn't have been possible. This is some good stuff that we have achieved.https://t.co/xacO9U6KKc#avengers4alexander#avengersforalexander#AvengersEndGame #10yearchallenge — Anuj Godase (@dahelmetguy) January 19, 2019 Sometimes, it is. 5. It would not be wrong to say that the saviors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have done an incredible amount of work in the year 2018, thus adding a significant number of new age fans to a saga that has now turned a decade old. via GIPHY Films like 'Avengers: Infinity War', 'Ant-Man and the Wasp', 'Black Panther', and 'Deadpool 2' are responsible for grossing almost one-third of the total box office revenue worldwide this year. While these films have turned out to be highly commercial, they have also made the fans go crazy as phase 4, which is also the last phase of the MCU is going to mark its initiation in 2019. Information in bits and pieces is being given to the media so that the storylines could be avoided from getting leaked. Fans are expecting the bigger and larger than life version of their superheroes in the upcoming set of Marvel films. via GIPHY Though we don't really know the certainties of the future team Avengers, we may surely get a major hint in the 2019 release, 'Captain Marvel'. via GIPHY After digging a few sources and a lot of research, we have come up with a high-end scoop about the upcoming Marvel films (releasing in 2019). If you are a die-hard Marvel fan and missed something amidst so many films in production, this post is for you. Read ahead and know about what's coming up from Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future. Let us tell you that there is going to be the latest, more evolved versions of the old superhero characters that will be associated with these films: Captain Marvel With 'Captain Marvel', Academy Award winner Brie Larson is getting ready for the release of the most awaited female superhero film of 2019. via GIPHY By playing the lead in the film, which is also the alter ego of cosmic hero Carol Danvers, Brie Larson is making her debut for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film's powerful trailer which was released in September has already exceeded our expectations. Let us tell you that Captain Marvel has remained an accomplice to the Avengers, the glimpses of which would also be seen in the upcoming 'Avengers: Endgame'. The film also stars, Quentin Tarantino's favorite Samuel L. Jackson, actors Annette Bening, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, and Clark Gregg. Not to be forgotten, 'Enemy at the Gates' star Jude Law is also in the film. via GIPHY The film is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. From the trailer, one can easily figure out that the film is set in the 90s and Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) is dealing with amnesia. via GIPHY The protagonist finds it difficult to recall her past and leaves the viewers stunned, amidst an unpredictable dialogue, “I am not what you think I am”. While, Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) background monologue explains much about the film's theme, which definitely includes aliens, one looks forward to the film, especially when Captain Marvel is a female at the center of the narrative. We are getting 'Wonder Woman' vibes though! Avengers: Endgame While 'Avengers: Infinity War' was believed to be the biggest Marvel film ever, the audience gave a mixed reaction to the film. Let us tell you that the biggest Marvel film is yet to come and is already in the making. via GIPHY 'Avengers: Endgame' will conclude the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will be a follow up to 'Avengers: Infinity War' and is also considered to be closely linked. The film will also be giving the final touch to many plots. via GIPHY The team of 'Avengers 4' is working day and night to take the Avengers game to the next level which also means that one would get to see the best from the MCU through this film. via GIPHY The flick will be releasing on May 3, 2019. The principal cinematography for the film started in 2017. The makers of the movie had earlier named it 'Avengers: Infinity War Part II', however, it was later discarded. 'Endgame' is being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Spider-Man: Far From Home Though Spider-Man has always remained one of the favorite characters for Marvel fans, the superhero's popularity might see a major rise due to his inclusion in the upcoming Avengers films. via GIPHY It would not be wrong to say that Spider-Man is here to stay and entertain us for a good number of years. For now, Marvel and Sony have teamed up for a sequel to 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' which is temporarily being called 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' (as per Tom Holland's Instagram post). via GIPHY Let us tell you that the film has been scheduled for the release on July 5, 2019. This would also mark the initiation of phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Tom Holland who was also seen in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' would play the protagonist in the sequel, it has been reported that Jake Gyllenhaal might play the villain. via GIPHY However, we are just not sure as to how Peter Parker would make his return after the end of 'Avengers: Infinity War'. The direction of the film will be handled by Jon Watts who also directed 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. Dark Phoenix In September this year, 20th Century Fox released the trailer of another 'X-Men' film and named it 'Dark Phoenix'. If we talk about the 2016 film 'X-Men: Apocalypse', it was the young Jean Grey who saved Professor X (James McAvoy) from getting killed at the hands of the Apocalypse, ultimately discovering her superpowers. via GIPHY 'Dark Phoenix' will feature Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) as the protagonist and will be a mix of her present and past lives. Though 'Dark Phoenix' is believed to be a forceful attempt to bring twists and turns into the already saturated series, the film seems to be losing its charm even before its release. Reason – The two major characters of the entire 'X-Men' franchise i.e. Logan and Professor X have already died in the 2017 film 'Logan'. 'Dark Phoenix' may only mix things up, as fans have already seen how Jean Grey died years back. via GIPHY Other than Sophie Turner, actors including Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Nicholas Hoult would also be seen, maybe for the very last time if this film has to be the end of the 'X-Men' franchise. 'Dark Phoenix' is directed by Simon Kinberg and will hit the theatres in June 2019. The New Mutants The 'New Mutants' is one film Marvel and 'X-Men' fans are eagerly looking forward to. As the title suggests, the film explores the horror-superhero genre and displays the story of teenage mutants getting a grip of their superpowers, while being captive at a secret facility. via GIPHY The film-makers have finalized a stunning cast for the film including actors Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Alice Braga, Charlie Heaton, and Henry Zaga. Earlier, the film was scheduled for April 2018, however, it has now been pushed to August 2, 2019. As per a few reports, certain scenes of the film are now being reshot to add the pinch of horror to it. In fact, major parts of the film are being shot again taking in view of the horror angle. The rating of the film has not been decided yet. 'The New Mutants' is being directed by Josh Boone. via GIPHY It will be interesting to see these teenage mutants getting to understand their powers. Remember, how it happened for the first time with the likes of Logan, Scott, Storm, and Mystique? via GIPHY Got any interesting scoop about these films? Comment below and let us know your thoughts on the upcoming Marvel films!
  6. “MenXP, are you using internet explorer?” “Admin, the trailer came out like 10 days ago.” “Admin, keep up, we already know everything, you're late.” Before anyone comments anything like this, I'm saying sorry, yes everyone did the story as soon as the trailer comes out and not 11 days late like us, but at least better late than never. Thank you. The trailer is tragic, obviously, but it's still brilliant. I mean Marvel finally gave us the trailer but they made the trailer in such a way that you still can't figure out exactly what's happening. This has given rise to plenty of fan theories already and if you want to read about some of those, we'll have you covered, just check MensXP in the next few days for those. Coming back to the trailer, here are some things that stood out for me after watching (and rewatching, and rewatching, and rewatching…) the trailer and the things that might have been missed by some people when they watched the trailer. 1. The A in the title reveal 'reassembling' The title reveal in the trailer is pretty cool, to say the least, and it might be giving us a hint because Marvel doesn't do anything randomly, it's all calculated. Okay, just look at the A coming together, or rather reassembling, so it could be pointing to all the characters who turned to dust coming back together. Basically, the trailer might be telling us for sure that everyone will come back and honestly, that's the kind of positivity I need in my life. 2. Whose hand is that? The trailer sets it up to look like it's Nebula's hand on Tony Stark's shoulder but we all know Nebula's hand doesn't look like that and we all also know how misleading Marvel trailers can actually be. Well, my guess is that it's Captain Marvel there to save Tony since she's going to play a huge role in the movie. 3. Shuri also turned to dust in Infinity War It's kind of a blink and you miss it moment but when Bruce Banner is looking at Scott Lang's picture in the missing people database, you can see a slide with Shuri's face which quickly turns to Peter Parker. This kind of contradicts the assumptions people made about how Tony was getting help from Shuri because of some set pictures that showed Tony somewhere that looked like Wakanda. 4. Whose hand is it? Part two Seeing Peggy Carter's picture in the trailer was unexpected to say the least and again the trailer sets it up to look like Steve is actually holding that. But come on, it's not Steve's hand but rather a woman's. Could it be Natasha holding it? Is it foreshadowing Cap's death? 5. 'Endgame' has been mentioned not once but twice before 'Avengers: Infinity War' is still fresh in everyone's mind and so are Dr. Strange's words foreshadowing the title of this movie - “We're in the end game now.” But, it has been referenced in the Avengers movie preceding Infinity War as well. Yep, Tony said the line “That up there, that's the endgame” in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.
  7. We owe everything to Robert Downey Jr. No, seriously. Do you remember a time where we went without like at least two spectacular superhero movies in a year? Me neither, all thanks to Marvel and DC. It's really hard to imagine not getting kickass movies with our favourite characters everywhere and we all know who we have to thank for that, even our very own Aquaman, Jason Momoa knows. During an interview with The Toronto Sun, Jason gave the credit where it's due when he was asked about why it took so long for a mainstream solo 'Aquaman' movie to happen. Yeah, we have had Batman and Superman for ages and even the interviewer pointed it out. But Jason gave all the credit to the one character who gave birth to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man. He said, “The only thing about it now is, people want more. They've heard those other stories, and there's plenty more to tell, but they want new ones. When Batman v Superman came out and it introduced Wonder Woman, she came in and blew it open. I feel like Marvel, in its own right, has been blowing the door open with other new characters as well. I mean look what Iron Man did. That was amazing. Who knew what the hell Iron Man did? I definitely didn't. I feel like I knew more about Aquaman, and I barely knew anything about Aquaman over Iron Man (laughs). Robert Downey just came in and destroyed it. So there are all these beautiful, modern mythologies that people get inspired by and it's nice to see something different.” We all love Batman and we still do, but come on, we need more heroes, and Marvel and DC have been delivering that for so long now and the audience is loving it. It's hard to believe now but before 2008, Iron Man was not even a mainstream superhero and now it's a household name. Comic book movies have come a long way and it all can be kind of traced back to RDJ since he's the one who brought the character out of the minor leagues. What Iron Man did for Marvel ten years ago, that's what Wonder Woman did for DC. As Jason said, she came in and blew it open!
  8. We all knew Captain Marvel was the last resort and also the last saving grace for the Avengers, when a disintegrating Nick Fury 'paged' her in the end credits of 'Infinity War'. Her importance in the upcoming 'Avengers: Endgame' shot by leaps and bounds following the incredible trailer of 'Captain Marvel', where we got a fair sense of what she is capable of – which is basically mind-blowing, boundless power. Even though I have been following Captain Marvel for a long time through comic books, and am fully aware of her powers, I can't help but confess that I was a wee bit doubtful if she would be of any help at all. Especially with Thanos now in possession of all the Infinity Gems- Soul Stone, Reality Stone, Mind Stone, Space Stone, Time Stone and Power Stone. However, Brie Larson, who is playing Captain Marvel just said something insanely awesome to put my doubts to rest and also confirmed that she is definitely going to bring the pain right to Thanos' doorstep. In an interview to TNT Brasil, when asked that even though Captain Marvel was among the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Universe, Thanos could probably give her a run for her money, Larson simply shrugged and said with a nonchalant expression, “he looks kinda shrimpy to me.” OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! MIC DROP!!!! Look at that face! Look at the confidence! That's the face of someone who KNOWS she is gonna kick some purple ass! Look at the choice of her words. 'Shrimpy'! I mean, come on. This is Thanos we are talking about. The dude who single-handedly wiped off like half of the MCU. Even Thor's Stormbreaker had zero effect on Thanos when the axe was embedded in his freaking chest (why didn't you go for the head? Goddamnit Thor!) So, given Larson's statement, I have no trouble believing she has something seriously terrible planned for the Mad Titan and is probably just counting the days for her encounter with 'shrimpy'. What do you guys think? Captain Marvel can take on Thanos? Or, is she also going to turn to crumbs? Let us know in the comment section.
  9. DC vs. Marvel is the battle that will never end. We have equally enthusiastic fans on both sides that have their valid points to prove who is better. But there is one superhero that no one hates. The one who is admired by all! We can safely say that he's the Rahul Dravid of the superhero franchise. Yes, we're talking about the one and only, 'Batman'! Let's try to decode why he is loved by all: 1. The Relatable Humanity In the super-heroic world full of demigods and super-humans, we have a human being who is doing everything he can to save his city – Batman. We like him because he's fully human. He's the superhero who doesn't have any superpowers and still rose above all. He neither comes from an alien planet nor does he have a magic ring to give him superpowers. He is just a man who fought his weaknesses to be compared to the mighty superheroes. Not just compared, but he did beat the God himself! Remember 'Batman vs. Superman'? 2. The Self-Made Man Kal-El was gifted with the strength of steel which made him Superman. Peter Parker got lucky and became Spiderman. But Bruce Wayne became a superhero on his own. He overcame his fears, fought his demons, left his lavish home, learned martial arts and came back to save his city as Batman! Bruce saw his parents getting killed. He was raised by his butler. He had more money than anyone could think of. Yet he chose a different lifestyle. Remember how Nolan's Bruce maintained a playboy image to avoid suspicion of him being the Batman? That was because people expected him to be a millionaire playboy! And no one would have blamed him had he been one. But he chose a different path and served his city. 3. The Never Say Die Attitude It is easier to fight when you're a demigod or a superhuman as you know it is next to impossible to kill you. But fighting, getting defeated and getting up again to fight when you're human, is commendable. Bane almost broke Batman. Not just his spine, but his spirit too. Yet, Batman came back, stronger than ever. “I do fear death. I fear dying here while my city burns and there's no one to save it.” 4. Being The Dark Knight Batman has his own shades of life. He has his flaws and limitations. His darkness is quite alluring. The 'man' has comrades who can fly, run faster than light, read minds and yet he is the one who intimidates them when he walks into the room. Such is his persona! Batman could have been a vengeance-seeking hero who kills people. But he controlled his inner darkness and didn't let his human side go. That's what we love about him. He didn't leave his roots, he didn't forget what his father taught him. He still remained a human, despite being a superhero! As we grow up, we realise that there's no magic in this world which can make our problems go away. And there's no sky out of which a man in blue will come to save us. It is us who have to get up, take a stand, and fight our battles. Just the way Batman did. Maybe that's why we can relate to Batman more than any other superhero. Maybe that's why we love Batman more than any other superhero!
  10. There's only one thing Mark Ruffalo is known for more than playing the character of The Hulk. Well, any guesses? It's an easy one. Giving out spoilers of course, and if you are a Marvel fan, you know how seriously Marvel and the Marvel fanbase actually takes spoilers. But, we all still love Mark, even though he f*cks up sometimes, he's like a little puppy that you can't stay mad at. Instead of showing disappointment, let's all celebrate this man and how much extra information he gives all the fans, accidentally of course. Here's us looking back at all the times Mark didn't know when to shut up - or shut off his phone - which probably landed him in hot water with Marvel and Disney. The first, and the arguably the best, Mark screw up till date has to be the Instagram live incident at the premier of 'Thor: Ragnarok'. The poor guy was just trying to do something nice for the fans by going live on Instagram but didn't realize he never ended that live. Oh, Mark. So, he ended up 'leaking' his own movie at the premier itself and over 2000 people heard the starting of the movie. Oops! He also revealed how everything went down at the theatre later on as well. Basically, his phone was blowing up with people trying to inform him he was still live but he didn't want to check his phone while watching a movie and here's when his manners shouldn't have mattered. Disney had to literally send someone to yell at Mark to turn off his phone. Then comes an 'Avengers: Infinity War' spoiler that no one even realized was a spoiler at the time. I would like to apologize for bringing up the ending of that movie but it's important. While we were aware that we would see many characters die in this movie, no one expected the list to be that long. It was impressive to see how Marvel kept this all under wraps but then an interview of Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle with 'Good Morning America' from last year resurfaced and became really relevant again because obviously Mark really couldn't help himself from giving out a major spoiler. Classic old Mark, tbh. Uh oh, @DonCheadle, is @MarkRuffalo going to get in trouble with @MarvelStudios now!? #InfinityWar #D23expo pic.twitter.com/WR5C1QCBTb — Good Morning America (@GMA) July 16, 2017 While talking about 'Thor: Ragnarok', “Every other Marvel movie, it doesn't end well for the superheroes.” Well, he should've stopped at that but of course, he added, “Wait till you see the next one, everybody dies.” Oh, Mark. Don's reaction probably summed up Marvel's reaction as well. And then comes the time when he was 'fired' from MCU after giving out spoilers during an interview with Jimmy Fallon. The best thing about Mark, though, is that he at least tries to cover up his mistakes and that's what he tried this time as well. But, since he doesn't think before speaking about multimillion-dollar movies, he obviously doesn't think before tweeting about it as well. .@JimmyFallon, I trust that you will cut my spoiler slip on the show tonight. That was “off the record” homey. Please don't get me in trouble with Marvel (Barry) again. DM me back. What is “DM”? https://t.co/GMds1hGO8X — jimmy fallon (@jimmyfallon) October 5, 2018 But, it was too late. The Russo brothers got to know about it before Mark could fix it, and well, now you know the reason if The Hulk does not show up in the next Avengers movie. Mark, you're fired. — Russo Brothers (@Russo_Brothers) October 6, 2018 He also did some damage control. Guys... can we talk about this? https://t.co/PYe56UiUgO — Mark Ruffalo (@MarkRuffalo) October 7, 2018 In the end, I would just like to say that Mark please never stop giving us spoilers, we're all waiting for anything about 'Avengers 4'. So leak something already. Thanks.
  11. hree words – Robert Downey Jr. You know who he is. You know what RDJ loves more than anything in this world? Marvel, of course. It's no secret that the role of Iron Man literally changed his life and even we can't imagine anyone other than him as Tony Stark. To be honest, he was born to play the superhero and he embraces that fact fully. His online presence is mostly just about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's not just about promotion or anything, because let's be real, Marvel don't need no promotion. 12. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always been guilty of some of its half-hearted romances, given the female characters from the MCU play very 'unlike female roles', for them to build a stronger romantic narrative. Of course, this view is very subjective but the bit about half-hearted romance not so much. When Stan Lee wrote most of the characters for the MCU, he carefully crafted their relationships and gave them very distinct dynamics. Be that of brotherhood, a mentor/mentee, siblings, frenemies, or even lovers; each equation was build on trust and history, that moulded their dynamic separately. While I am not sure if Lee was an ardent believer of love and romance, he surely did create some relationships based on pure fierceness and love, that never made them leave each other's side. © Walt Disney Studios In recent film franchise, we've seen the MCU get a little better at the love thing though. I remember watching the first Spiderman movie that was released with Toby Maguire and thinking 'wow, this guy's a wimp in the romance department but even so, he gets the damn girl'. Something very co-relational to Lee's interpretation of Spiderman and MJ's dynamic in the comic books. I did enjoy their relationship though. He always chose his responsibilities over loving her, or allowing her to ever get hurt, by revealing his identity or even by leaving her for doing what's right. I always imagined a love like that could never really die! And it didn't. It probably evolved along the way. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures So, keeping the love alive, and Lee's memory intact in all the future frames Marvel produces, here are some of the most iconic romantic relationships shared between two people in the MCU, both from the movie franchise and comic books. (1) Tony Stark & Pepper Potts (Iron Man) The relationship between Pepper and Tony has not just been well developed but sustained throughout the franchise, with additional scenes from 'Infinity War' and 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. Pepper is the person Tony has always relied upon and even during his character build-up during 'Civil War', he's seen to be grieving her absence. The fact that she takes care of his needs and wants, gives the two characters so much heat and builds the basis of love between them. © Paramount Pictures While Ironman does entertain the people with humour, sarcasm and his wit, I don't think enough attention is paid to the developing romance between Tony and his woman. I also think the romance bit was an important crux for Ironman and if you see the subtlety of it, Pepper is always the antithesis of Tony. When the audience is losing hope in him she's always there to remind people to be patient and have enough faith in their hero and of course, she does the same for him. It's a beautiful narrative of their subtle love for each other. I guess men can learn to be true to their 'heart' and keep their love going in abundance just like Tony has for Pepper, over time! (2) Peter Parker & Mary Jane (Spiderman) Peter Parker and Mary Jane are one of the most iconic stories in both comic book lore and the movies. They've had each other's back for a long time and have gone through Green Goblins, Doc Oc's and Civil Wars together and survived. Jane was Parker's childhood love and that's the purest love that can ever exist and building a narrative of that through a comic book, is an exceptionally well-kept romance! © Marvel Comics The love they had had for each other was so precious that Mephisto wanted it as barter. That's when Jane made a deal with Mephisto that resulted in Peter and her never getting married. Well, you win some, you lose some! Ultimately they don't really end up together or get married, but Jane did tell Parker that their love was so strong that it would find its way back, eventually! Sigh! Remarkable dedication and pure honesty is what true love is all about after all. Every man should definitely learn how to love in the purest sense, despite the responsibilities overburdening his shoulders. (3) Peter Quill & Gamora (Guardians Of The Galaxy) While there has been a romantic liaison between Peter and Gamora in the past, there has been some serious romantic development between them in Infinity War. They exchange their 'I love yous' but Gamora also tries to convince Peter to kill her just so she doesn't fall into the hands of Thanos. He, of course, can't kill his one and only love, can he? Of course, he can. He does take his gun out to kill her while she's in Thanos's grip but bubbles instead of bullets come out of his gun. Any guesses why? Not only did he respect Gamorás wishes, he even sacrificed his one true love for what she willed when the time had come How many men do that nowadays? © Walt Disney Studios (4) Storm & T'Challa (Black Panther) Yup, we've usually seen Storm single in the movie franchise and T'challa with Nakia, but in the MCU comic series, the relationship between these two was great. They were actually married to each other for 6 years before they separated. They were also very similar in many ways. Both were warriors, both lost their parents at a very young age and they both understood what it was like to have the weight of the world on their shoulders. The only problem was that their relationship wasn't given much importance in comic books and it was fast-tracked and there was a giant jump from the time when they met as kids to when they fell in love as adults. Even after their separation, Storm and T'challa worked on their relationship and didn't let it die down immediately. I guess the only lesson men can take from T'challa is to always support their lady love, no matter how the relationship is going! © Marvel Comic (5) Vision & Wanda-Scarlet Witch (Civil War) I think they had a very twisted dynamic in all of MCU, which was worth a mention here. It's actually a romance between two unlikely characters. While in the movie it may seem like a fairytale, the comics depict a different picture altogether! In the comic series, he used to be a synthezoid automaton, created by one of Avenger's greatest enemies and she was a spell caster, who was always on the wrong side of the law. © Marvel Comic When Vision and Scarlet both joined the Avengers as outsiders, they both had a troubled past. When they got together, it actually made their equation quiet unexpected and adorable, to say the least. ' He was a robot who wanted to feel everything human and she was a mutant looking for acceptance. It actually fit perfectly and that's the dynamic we see in 'Civil War' and later in 'Infinity War' as well. I can only sum up this equation by qualifying it as 'twisted love'. © Walt Disney productions MCU has a string of other 'sweet romances' that I haven't listed. For example Hulk and Black Widow, where their relationship was more philosophical and seemed a little forced in an already stuffed 'Age of Ultron'. It just felt like an unnecessary distraction. But other than that we have Luke Cage and Jessica James, T'Challa and Nakia, Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter, to name a few, all filling in major gaps in the romance department of the MCU! So, all in all, the MCU is not just Stan Lee's heartless power force, but a subtle meltdown of action, love, romance, responsibilities, eccentricities and of course power. I suggest you read some comic book romances if you really want to understand the dynamic the romantics shared in the invincible MCU.
  13. The world came to a standstill when the newsflash hit everyone's phones: Stan Lee had passed away. Honestly, I had to check across multiple portals to check if this was a hoax or not, but once this gut-wrenching piece of news was confirmed, the first thing that popped in my mind was- “Oh my God, Marvel movies without Stan Lee in it? How will this even work?” via GIPHY I don't know if I am the only one who does this, but whenever I see Stan on the big screen making a badass cameo out of nowhere, I instantly go into fanboy mode without giving a damn if the dude next to me is judging me or not! via GIPHY The cheers, clap and whistles just come pouring out as soon as I see him making a trademark sarcastic comment about superheroes. This is my personal favourite. via GIPHY Now that he is gone, it is hard to imagine a Marvel movie without him. I mean, of course, it will still be mindblowing, but I won't be eagerly waiting for Stan anymore to pop on the screen and shoot a snarky line…and that breaks my heart. via GIPHY Stan was probably the biggest fan of his own work, as evident by his dedicated appearances at every movie premiere, comic book conventions and public signings. © AP Keeping in mind that this was a man above 90, who like his peers, should've been resting or just be on the down-low and spend his time golfing, it was incredible how enthusiastic he always was. Stan was the biggest personification of the quote “age is just a number” and a walking contradiction to the common notion, that 'old people' are not cool. via GIPHY It does make one wonder that why did not take a break from his movie career? I mean, it would not have been out of the norm. Actors his age often silently walk away from the spotlight, but Stan was always there and never broke under the pressure of the industry. Back in 2016, Stan told the Hollywood Reporter the reason behind him not retiring, and the answer is typical Stan. “When you retire, you have a chance to do all the things you've always wanted to do. I've been doing all the things I've always wanted to do. I've always wanted to be involved in entertaining people.” Wow. If that's not the most incredible thing you've heard, then I don't know what is. via GIPHY The man knew what he and his work meant to his fans. He knew the importance of the universe that he had created and always reminded himself, that in a way, he was helping people. “I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: entertainment is one of the most important things in people's lives. Without it, they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you're able to entertain, you're doing a good thing.” Stan once told the Washington Post. via GIPHY His life and his works are proof that you won't hate your job if you love what you do. It goes without saying that Stan Lee is irreplaceable and that his loss will take a while to sink in. Until then, fanboys like me are waiting for the next Avengers movie, where we're going to yell our lungs out when we see him on the screen again! via GIPHY
  14. Stan Lee, the father of Marvel comics, is better known to the world as the creator (read god) of a galaxy of superheroes, that every millennial has grown up with vivid memories of. We have had our share of Iron Man's grit, Hulk's bulk that's representative of his emotions, Captain America's towering presence, besides discovering the many facets of all the other memorable characters that Lee created, over the years. He breathed his last on 12th November, at the age of 95. Social media is abuzz with a gazillion people sharing their personal encounters with the jovial star, while others have simply joined in to bid him a sad goodbye. While the entire world mourns the loss of a legend, actors who brought Lee's creations to life on the big screen came together to pay their tributes in their own special ways. 15. 'The MCU has a CGI problem' and 'why is Marvel overusing CGI?' – this is something I've come across online a few times and I totally agree. Yes, why doesn't Marvel just build huge spaceships and just make new planets to shoot their movies? Why do they use CGI when it's so easy to spend millions of dollars to make sets and destroy them? And surely, they can easily get actors to play different characters? Stop taking roles away from talking trees and raccoons, Marvel. Okay, keeping all the sarcasm aside, Marvel relies on CGI for obvious reasons. While we love all the cool effects and everything in the movies, seeing some of the characters without any CGI probably has the potential to ruin anyone's day. It's so expected and unexpected at the same time and not to mention, hilarious. But, before that, everyone needs to watch this on loop. Hollywood jumps without CGI Okay, not that we've see Benedict Cumberbatch's awkward jump, let's come back to the characters with CGI. I think this is the most common picture. 16. When it comes to superheroes, most of us have our favourites from either Marvel or DC. This is a rivalry that was created long back and will always be open to debate. When it comes to movies, Marvel is the clear winner, if we consider box office performances, while DC is struggling with scripts. The last movies of a DC superhero that I truly loved was the Batman Trilogy, although they weren't the part of DC cinematic universe. Despite the below par performance of DC movies, I still enjoy them more than I enjoy the ones by Marvel, though. Following are the reasons which strengthen my argument that DC is better than Marvel: 1. Character Depth It was a delight to see the transformation of Bruce Wayne from the 'Batman Trilogy to 'Batman vs. Superman'. Where Nolan's Bruce was younger and more optimistic, DCEU's Bruce was mature and slightly darker. This transformation was brilliantly scripted because usually when we see a superhero, there's hardly any change in the character. But the character development here was astonishing and overwhelming. © Warner Bros. This is where Marvel lacks. Except for suits & the beard of Captain America, Marvel has barely changed anything in its superheroes. The cocky-ness of Iron Man is great but eventually, it gets boring seeing it again and again. 2. Toughness I would like to blame Disney for this one. Remember 'The Incredible Hulk'? He was scary! One would think twice before messing with him. Then Disney came into the picture & suddenly the Hulk turned into a PG-13 version of his former self. © Universal Pictures What we saw after that was a soft Hulk and a series of 'childish' movies. Apart from Logan, no other movie of a Marvel superhero is good enough for an adult fan. They are soft, the storyline is not deep, and they barely scratch the surface when it comes to dark villains. Against the entire MCU, just one guy from DC is enough – Superman. 3. Posters Posters from Marvel movies are, well, boring! They are clean, quiet & again, lack the depth. On the other hand, posters from DC movies are stirring and dark, like the franchise itself. © Marvel From the Marvel posters, we get the feel of a family film which we should watch with kids. And that is certainly not a compliment if you're a diehard superhero fan. 4. Embracing The Dark Side Marvel is all about fighting against villains and saving the world. DC is much more than that. DC openly shows the struggles of superheroes. Remember 'Justice League'? Batman knew he was old now. Contrary to his popular belief, he accepted he can't work alone. © Warner Bros. Remember 'Wonder Woman'? The movie was more about her internal struggle to stay home or to be set free in the outside world and less about defeating the villain. You don't see such depths in Marvel movies. Maybe in 'Infinity War', but it was still an 'Ohh, there's a bad guy. Let's defeat him' kinda movie. Marvel needs to grow up! 5. TV Series If we compare the first season of 'Arrow' and 'Daredevil', the former was way better. I'll tell you why! 'Arrow' developed the character from scratch. There was a background associated with each and every move that he learned. A flashback where we got to see how our superhero learned various techniques and his struggles to survive torturous conditions. © The CW When I watched 'Daredevil', all I found was some blind guy who trained some blind kid. That's it! There was no 'how.' That's why I found Season 1 of 'Daredevil' to be one of the most overrated seasons. To sum it up, Marvel lacks maturity. It is no longer the world where superheroes are just for kids. I can't say that I could ever find Iron Man better than Batman, but at least Marvel can try to make films keeping the adult audience in mind.

When you open Netflix these days. pic.twitter.com/z0JawlbLPm — Bade Chote (@badechote) August 27, 2018 Talking about Netflix, can you guess what's common between Netflix and Marvel? If you're thinking the answer is Radhika Apte, you're wrong. It's their love for the Indian diaspora and enjoying a huge fan base here. I mean the success of 'Avengers: Infinity War' speaks volumes about how much people love Marvel superheroes. And it is this love that has now enticed Marvel to create India based content, with major emphasis on Indian culture. © Marvel In an exclusive interview with Indian Express, Marvel's VP-Creative Development, Stephen Wacker spoke about Marvel's plans for its Indian audience and while we don't know about the story plot, we do know which actor is going to be a part of that project. Stephen said, "If we make Indian content, we have to put Shah Rukh Khan. He has to be in it." He further added, "I can't speak for the movies. 18. Ever since we saw the symbol of Captain Marvel blinking on Nick Fury's pager in a particularly traumatic post-credit scene of 'Infinity Wars', we knew what was coming and could smell the impending awesomeness. Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel is MCU's newest superhero, and we would be lying if we told you we're not psyched to see her blow our brains out in the upcoming movie. The stand-alone 'Captain Marvel' movie will be a period film set in the 1990s, tracing the journey of Carol Danvers and her transformation into becoming a superhero. Those of you who are not familiar with her story, you'd better read this quick roundabout of 17 important facts about the most powerful superhero there is. Besides the fact that she is pretty much the strongest superhero in the MCU, what makes Captain Marvel so important is that she is a crucial link between the 'Avengers' and the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' films. Also, this is the first solo, female-led movie in the MCU. The hype for this movie is only increasing by the day, mostly because of its significant role in the MCU. And now, a newly-released bunch of photos from the film and the first look of Oscar winner Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has left fans salivating. The future is female! He's younger than we've ever seen him (Jackson was digitally de-aged for the role), and perhaps most shocking of all, he's missing his signature eyepatch,”- EW. 9. Carol Danvers- The Badass Air Force Pilot © EW “Even before she became Captain Marvel, Carol was an accomplished Air Force pilot, and Larson spent time with actual pilots for research.” – EW 10. She's a top-notch Air Force pilot with the call sign “Photon,” and she's also a single mother to a young daughter.”- EW.
  19. Marvel superheroes have joined forces, not to fight Thanos, but bring a smile on the face of a young boy named Josh. Australia's 17-year-old Josh has been battling with Leukemia since he was 5. Two years ago, he was diagnosed with glioblastoma. Unfortunately, according to his doctors, Josh has barely a few months left to live. © Twitter Josh is a huge fan of Marvel superheroes, particularly Deadpool and to fulfil his dying wish, his mother, friends and other family members started a campaign, asking his favourite heroes to send him a message and looks like their prayers have been answered. PLEASE SHARE THE HELL OUT OF THIS! I also think that's kinda funny, for one particular reason..." I'm already in touch with Josh and his family. Thanks! — Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) August 13, 2018 He further said, "After hearing about you and hearing about your story and everything that you're going through, you know, I think it's pretty much a fact that you have more courage and more strength in your pinky finger than any superhero does in their entire body." Earlier this year, Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds responded to the request of a young boy who wanted a greeting from his favourite superheroes. It is heartwarming to see how all these actors turned into real-life superheroes, just to bring a smile on their young fans' faces.
  20. Whatever any avenger can do, Thor can do it better. Arguably the strongest avenger, Thor always knows how to steal the thunder and that's why he's called the god of thunder, true story. So, here's a way to relive all of his epic entrances because this dramatic superhero needs even more appreciation. Just a suggestion, but you should play this while reading this article because this song is Thor's song now, thanks to Ragnarok. 1. Avengers: Infinity War Thor's entry in Wakanda has to be hands down the best entrance by any character in any movie ever. I mean, you can just tell that by how loudly everyone cheered in the theatre when the god of thunder made the epic descent to earth, that too at the most crucial moment. All the fighters on the ground – Captain America, Black Panther, Bruce Banner – are getting overwhelmed by the number of Outriders that they were having a hard time fighting. In that moment, the hero comes to save the day (not really, but it did give us false hope that everyone will be alright now) and the lightning blue axe flings through the Outriders, saving the other Avengers. Then, the Stormbreaker returns to Thor as he stands with Rocket and Groot. What a goosebumps inducing moment! The guy lost everything and almost died because of Thanos, obviously he's here for revenge(r) and the first thing he says is 'Bring me Thanos'. Brb, need to watch Infinity War again. 2. Thor: Ragnarok Even with one eye, Thor stuck the landing! Ragnarok is honestly one of the best movies by Marvel till date, if not the best one and even though it was quite hilarious, that did not mean they compromised on all the action and superheroes kicking butt. While fighting his evil sister and saving the people of Asgard, Thor really gave us one of the best fight sequence ever and the 'Immigrant Song' playing in the background just made the whole thing hundred times better. 3. Thor: The Dark World Leave it to Thor to always be extra and dramatic. Actually, we've been talking about Thor's entrances, but the bigger hero is Mjölnir(RIP) which comes before Thor does. The movie starts with Thor and his friends and warriors Fandral, Volstagg, and Sif fighting marauders on Vanaheim, as the final battle in a war to pacify the Nine Realms following the reconstruction of the Bifröst. Okay yes, The Dark World is pretty forgettable but at least Thor made sure to leave his mark. 4. Thor: The Dark World (again) Look at this dramatic asshole making another extra as **** entry in front of Malekith. 5. The Avengers Well, this is how Thor's first meeting with Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow went. Look at that hair, tho. So flowy! Thor are you in a superhero movie or a shampoo commercial. But, the best part of this scene is Cap's dialogue because it never gets old - “There's only one god ma'am and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that.”
  21. The unparalleled madness behind the 'Avengers' franchise has no comparison, and even though we have to wait for almost a year before we finally get to see what happens in the next instalment, Marvel Studios is making sure that it keeps us busy with something or the other that has our 'fan brain' occupied. Marvel Studios posted an 'Infinity Stones' video and then quickly deleted it, severely irking fans across the globe. The official video was about the individual powers of all the six Infinity Stones including the much-debated Soul Stone, which means that it is was obviously hinting at a possible plot development for the next instalment. The Space Stone allows travelling across dimensions, the Time Stone allows peeping into the past and the future, while the Reality Stone lets one shape reality the way they want. The Power Stone, as the name suggests, helps one exercise the power to destroy anything and the Mind Stone alters the consciousness. Lastly, the Soul Stone allows the control of life and death. © marvel After a few possible pictures from the next instalment leaked online, the theory of time travel has become a legit belief. Another unofficial plot synopsis revealed that “a culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it”. So basically, the deleted video, according to fans, officially explained the power of the stones and hinted at how it will add to the plot of the next instalment.
  22. Marvel Studios just released 'Ant-Man and The Wasp' as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas. We all know that the movie is set somewhere between 'Captain America: Civil War' and 'Avengers: Infinity War'. What's interesting to see, is how the 'Ant-Man' series is linked with the events of 'Infinity War'. Given the culmination of 'Infinity War' at a point where half of the Universe get disintegrated, everyone wants to know what new elements and theories the latest 'Ant-Man' film has to add to the MCU. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures While there are different theories, the most common belief is that the movie explores the Quantum Realm - where the concepts of time and space do not hold any relevance. Maybe this is how Ant-Man will help the Avengers reverse the chaos that Thanos has created in the Universe? © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures With this film, we also get to meet a new superhero, the Wasp. Evangeline Lilly's character is rumoured to be crucial to in 'Avengers 4', which is due for release on 3rd May 2019. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures On a separate note, Dr. Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas) may also offer some insight into his work with subatomic particles and his association with Howard Stark (Iron Man's father) and S.H.I.E.L.D. Furthermore, the film is about bringing back his wife, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), from the Quantum Realm. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures We can expect the above answers in 'Ant-Man and The Wasp' and it will also play an important role in linking the 'Ant-Man' series directly with 'Avengers 4' and adding some new interesting facts and tech to the MCU, which may just be necessary to defeat Thanos. So, instead of skipping 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' why not give it a watch? You may just find the answers to some of the questions you've been asking since 'Avengers: Infinity War.'

  24. The world thought Marvel was crazy to release 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' just a few months after 'Avengers: Infinity War.' The latter has earned more than $2 billion at the box office. It's safe to say that anyone who has even a mild interest in comic book movies has watched it. So, why would Marvel dare to release another comic book movie so soon? Stupid move, right? Wrong! Remember, when the trailer for 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' dropped just a few weeks into 'Avengers: Infinity War' releasing? It had a catchy song and was fun. Just what we needed after the mind-bender that was the ending of Infinity War. But, let's be honest, no one cared about it. The only Marvel movie we're interested in watching now is 'Avengers 4', right? Wrong! The biggest mistake you could make is choosing to skip 'Ant-Man & The Wasp.' It's a Marvel movie. You absolutely must watch it. Not a single Marvel movie since 'Iron Man (2008)' has let us down. So, why not give them a chance? They deserve one, right? Well, yeah! © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures But we digress, let's get back to 'Ant-Man & The Wasp.' This movie deserves much more praise than it's going to end up getting. Why? It's a bloody brilliant movie. But, we're all just suffering from a superhero hangover right now. So, here's my attempt at trying to convince you to watch the movie. If you are already convinced and just want to know what the ending was all about, skip to the end. We talk about it in detail. (Let this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsox4q5B8ps) play in the background while you read through the rest of it. Trust us, it will only make things better.) Comedy With Paul Rudd as the lead, the end result is bound to be hilarious. One thing Marvel has become really good at is making us laugh without letting us think we're watching a comedy where there are no stakes. 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' will have you laughing out loud (literally) on multiple occasions. But, it will not once take it to the point where you feel like it's unbelievable. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Not everyone laughs in the face of adversity. Why would you crack a joke if your life was on the line? Unlike many other movies who have tried it (looking at you DC) Marvel gets it right. They even managed to make Michael Douglas' most serious stare hilarious. That takes tact! Visuals If we were to name two Marvel franchises that stood out in terms of visuals alone, I'd choose Thor and Dr. Strange. Yeah, Dr. Strange is not yet a franchise and we only got those sweet-sweet visuals in the third Thor movie, but who would have thought 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' would be a visual masterpiece? © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Actually, when you think about it, we did get a glimpse of just how visually stunning the Ant-Man franchise could be in the first movie. We did spend a few seconds in the quantum realm in that one. This movie takes it up a notch. In fact, it takes it up multiple notches. Damn it, we'll say it, 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' has the best visuals we've seen in a movie in the last 10 years. Maybe more. Michelle Pfeiffer What can we say about Michelle Pfeiffer. She stole our heart as Catwoman in 'Batman Returns' and we never got it back. The woman is 60-years-old right now and still looks as beautiful as ever. She's so beautiful that it makes me break away from third person for a couple of seconds just to say that I'd sell one of my kidneys just to be in the same room as her. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures But, Marvel doesn't cast actors to be eye-candy. Not when they can act most of their co-stars under the table. We bet they have big plans for Pfeiffer leading up to 'Avengers 4'. She is going to be in the finale. Everyone already knows that. Good we got to spend a little time with her first. Paul Rudd Remember when Paul Rudd was best known for being Phoebe's boyfriend/husband on 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S.?' Those days are over. Paul Rudd is and forever will be known as Ant-Man from now on. Sorry, Hank. If the first movie was any indication of what a terrific choice Rudd was as the titular character, this movie just helps cement that thought. If you thought Rudd wasn't talented enough to be a Hollywood A-lister, just watch 'Ant-Man & The Wasp.' © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures As much as we'd love this to be an ode to Paul Rudd, we have a lot left to cover so we'll keep it plain and simple. Paul Rudd is great. Go watch every single movie he is in! Evangeline Lilly She's not 'Lost' anymore. That's for sure. In a universe where Black Widow is probably the best non-powered, human, female fighter, Hope Van Dyne could give her a pretty decent fight. Give her the suit and she would be unstoppable. Well, not unstoppable but pretty damn close. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures The thing about Lilly is, she's so damn pretty you don't really care what else she's doing. But, we love how Marvel have moved away from objectifying women in any way, shape or form. You won't have to go too far back to imagine a world where Ant-Man would wear fully covered bodysuit and the Wasp would wear a skimpy two piece. We're glad modern day storytelling has faith in the ability of their characters to sell movie tickets instead of relying on what was considered, for decades, to be the perfect formula. Kudos Marvel and kudos Evangeline. You go girl! Michael Douglas Michael Douglas was considered the bankable Hollywood star back in the 70s or 80s or that time when he was young. As much as he would love to relive those glory days and as much as modern CGI gives him a chance to digitally de-age, he needs to remember that he's not the star attraction anymore. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Unfortunately, when you're that damn good, it's hard not to steal every single scene you're in. There are times when we're sure he isn't even trying and still out acts everyone. Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer on-screen at the same time as husband and wife in 2018. No one would have believed you 20 years ago. Not because there's animosity between them, it's just that no production company has managed to cast them together in the past. Then again, Marvel loves doing the impossible. Back to first person for a few seconds. Going to let out a small, really tiny, subatomic spoiler here. If you're one of those who think something so small could ever be a spoiler or don't want to risk it, just skip to the next point. Ready? Okay, there was a point in the movie when the person I was watching it with was worried that Michael Douglas was going to die. You know what I said to her? You can't get Michael Douglas for your movie and then kill him. Michael Douglas doesn't die. Goes without saying I was, right. Well, kinda. *wink wink* Michael Pena One day, someone is going to write a book on the art of storytelling. That book is then going to be turned into a movie. That movie is going to go on and win an Oscar. You know who the book is going to be based on? Michael Pena. Why? The man is a genius. We got a taste of just how 'sublime' he can be in 'Ant-Man' and with 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' we get another look at the best storyteller on the planet. Yeah, he is the best storyteller on the planet!!! © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Whenever he's on screen, you'll have a smile on your face. This movie was Pena doing what he does best. Killing it with his comedic timing. Marvel could have cast just about anyone else in the world as Luis and they would have been a forgettable side character (T.J. Miller tries hard in 'Deadpool' but is just not good enough). But here, Luis is one of the stars of the show. Everyone in the world should tell stories the way Luis does. Every single person! Other supporting characters In a film with the above-mentioned big names gracing the cover, the odds of being a forgettable actor no one will think of twice are very high. But, Marvel doesn't just get actors who are okay being mediocre. They hire the best. Even if it's for 2 minutes of screen time. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Everyone in the movie from Laurence Fishburne to Randall Park put in a spectacular performance. Even the 10-year-old Abby Ryder Fortson showed us just how far child actors have come in a couple of decades. Bravo. Storytelling Remember how Marvel used 'Thor: Ragnarok' to close the plothole with the multiple Infinity Gauntlets? They did it again. Finally, a studio that watches its own movies and learns from its mistakes. Dare we call them mistakes. There are a few serious questions that we had on our minds at the end of 'Avengers: Infinity War' and in this movie Marvel gave us answers to every single one of them. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Everyone thought it was a really stupid decision to have 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' release after 'Avengers: Infinity War' but as you walk out of the movie hall you will realise that they were right. This is a movie that must be watched after Infinity War. It wouldn't have been the same otherwise. Yet again, Marvel proves that no matter how much we question their actions, they will prove us wrong at the end of the day. The Ending (Spoilers Ahead) All first-person for this one! I want to talk to you one-on-one here! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH there's so much I want to say. This movie has made me reevaluate everything I've done in my life till this point. I went in with absolutely no expectations. The movie turned out to be a fun superhero movie. The kinds that Marvel is known for. I had a good laugh throughout. The actor's performances were spot on. It was a solid 8 on 10. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures The movie finished. The credits started rolling. The mid and end credit scenes in the last few movies have been underwhelming at best so there was no reason to expect anything else from this one. The movie had been fun. I was happy, you were happy, everyone was happy. The good guys won. The bad guys lost. Yaay! Then, in a split second, Marvel reminded us that this was a universe where Thanos existed. If the snap of his fingers hurt us in the Infinity War, in 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' it killed us. You probably didn't even realise what happened for the first few seconds. Then it hit you like a 10 ton truck. Marvel is done with happy endings. We're in the real world now and in the real world, you lose people in a heartbeat (literally). © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Who would have thought Marvel would pull such a gutsy move? Hope, Hank and Janet Van Dyne, disintegrate when Thanos snaps his fingers and Ant-Man is stuck in the Quantum Realm with no way of coming back. Damnit! Can Avengers 4 come already? I am never going to get invested in a Marvel series ever again in my life (haha, what a lie). It's just too much excitement and anticipation. But then again, that's just the mark of a brilliant storyteller. Kevin Feige, you are indeed a LEGEND!
