  1. White Walkers are absolutely terrifying creatures on 'Game Of Thrones'. Their extent of powers is not known yet and they're capable of waking the dead to fight for them. However, each time they successfully achieve a conquest on the show, they leave behind a visible dent in the shape of the storm. So far, there has been more than one instance of this mark being left. In the first episode of season 8, Tormund, Beric, and Edd saw it firsthand, and there exists a tonne of Reddit theories about the Night King's symbol on Game of Thrones. This particular mark was made by nailing Lord Umber (now a wight) to a wall of House Umber with limbs of the other slain Northerners around him to make a spiral symbol. The dead have been used multiple times to make this spiral. So what does the spiral exactly mean? Why align the dead in this particular way? It is interesting to note at this point that it's also present in the cave drawings at the Dragonstone. This is an important marker of identity for the Whites. Some of the suggestions analysing what it could mean include: 1. Kill All The Men © HBO The Children of the Forest created the White Walkers to kill the First Men. Remus88Romulus's theory suggests that the symbol is a kind of rune or spell that the White Walkers follow that instructs them to kill people. So once the army of the dead has followed their orders, they create the symbol again to show they've accomplished their mission. 2. A Ritualistic Symbol From The Children Of The Forest © HBO Helmer1134, another Redditor, suggests that the Night King could be extorting power from the roots by using a symbol used in the rituals by the Children of the Forest. This very symbol was present when the Children of the Forest were creating the Night King by shoving a dragonglass in his heart. 3. A Possible Sign That The Night King Wants To Be Human Again © HBO The Night King's life was taken away from him by the Children of the Forest, maybe he's still not over how unfair it all was. That's what Moeez_Malik considers with the theory that the Night King is using the symbol to mark his way home where he might be able to become a man again. 4. The Night King's Sigil © HBO All the houses within the Seven Kingdoms have sigils that represent their identity and honour. His name is "King" after all, the Night King might've created this sigil long ago to represent his presence as Crowd_Chatter guessed. Although this theory from Mtolivepickle suggests that the Night King's sigil is a raven's skull with an eye in the center is equally plausible. 5. The Night King Was A Targaryen © HBO The sigil for House Targaryen is a three-headed dragon and for some reason, it looks strikingly similar to the White Walker symbol. Also, because resurrecting a dragon came naturally to him and the dragon happens to like him too. A couple of Redditors think that this could only mean that the Night King is a Targaryen. 6. King's Landing & Where The Mad King Stored Wildfire © HBO UCJAgent discusses how the symbol could signal where the "caches of wildfire" are in King's Landing. Jaime told Brienne back in Season 3 (and Cersei utilized in Season 6), the Mad King Aerys II Targaryen had stored wildfire "all over the city — beneath the Sept of Baelor and the slums of Flea Bottom. Under houses, stables, taverns. Even beneath the Red Keep itself." UCJAgent theorized that the Mad King purposefully placed the wildfire in a way to match the Targaryen sigil — and that this wildfire will be what eventually destroys the Night King. He carries the hints of his destruction with him and yet no one has figured that out. 7. The White Walkers' Blood Magic © HBO Blood magic and fantasy are intertwined. And just like Mirri Maz Duur, Melisandre, and Maggy the Frog, maybe the White Walkers have their own type of blood magic or Wight magic. As Aixelsydguy theorized, the symbol could be part of a White Walker ritual that allows the White Walkers to revive corpses and use them to their favour. 8. It's The White Walkers' Final Destination © HBO The spiral could possibly also represent the weirwood trees. Reddit user bro8619 in nuanced theory noted how the symbols are actually representing the Isle of Faces in the Gods Eye Lake. Lame_of_Thrones thinks that the Night King and his army are headed to the Isle of Faces, which is an important location for the Children of the Forest and the First Men and is supposedly filled with weirwoods. Maybe that's their ultimate destination. Which theory do you think is more plausible?
  2. Before you start reading about one of the most important symbols in 'Game of Thrones', this is your last chance to turn away as there will be spoilers ahead. If you've already seen the previous seasons of 'Game Of Thrones' and the premiere of the final season, carry on reading. We don't know much about the White Walkers, their origin and the Night King's intentions; however, we've seen the dead army's stamp time and time again. It's called the “Death Swirl” and we got to see it again in the first episode of Season 8. It is probably the scariest swirl we've seen yet as it consists of limbs and Ned Umber bang in the centre. The swirl gets discovered by Edd, Beric and Tormund and we get to know more what it may mean. Beric tells us that it may just be a message from the Night King. But before Beric could tell us more about the swirl, Ned Umber comes back to life and interrupts Beric's explanation. We all know that the Night King was created by the Children of the Forest thanks to the Three-Eyed Raven's visions of the past. The swirl was created by the Children of The Forest as confirmed by David Benioff in an interview. © HBO "There are certain symbols and patterns that recur throughout the show. The first time we saw that was in one of the very first scenes in the pilot when Will the ranger sees the Wildling body parts in an odd pattern displayed by the White Walkers. We see it again north of the Wall with the dead horses displayed in a spiral pattern, and then you see it again here and learn where these patterns come from, that they're ancient symbols of the Children of the Forest used in their rituals, and the Children of the Forest created the White Walkers,” said Benioff. From what we can gather, the pattern is symbolic to The Children of the Forest and the message the Night King is trying to send is that he remembers, he knows his purpose and he won't stop until he achieves it. The Night King's intentions and purposes are still shrouded in mystery so we will know for sure when it's revealed. This is not the first time we've seen the swirl as the symbol has made an appearance in various scenes before. We see the symbol for the very first time in the very first episode of Season 1. It was made up of wildling bodies and limbs that were arranged in the pattern of the Death Swirl. © HBO The next time we see the swirl is in the third episode of season three when Jon revisits “Fist of the First Men”. His fellow Night's Watchmen were murdered by the white walkers and their horses were mutilated to form the pattern of the symbol. The horse's heads were arranged in a spiral giving us a confirmation that this symbol plays some form of significance in the Night King's story arc. The last time we saw the Death Swirl before Season 8's premiere was in Dragonstone and was discovered by Jon Snow. It was discovered when Jon was mining for Dragonglass under the forgotten outpost. This discovery is probably the most crucial hint towards the symbol's significance as murals on the walls of the cave depict the Children of The Forest working together with the First Men at the first battle of the Long Night. They were the first to defeat the White Walkers and the death swirl is carved in the cave paintings with much significance. The prominence of the swirl painting on the walls is a major hint that it played a vital role even during the first Long Night. The death swirl according to some theories has to do with some form of magic and maybe some kind of a reminder about how the White Walkers were created. Other theories suggest that the symbol has something to with the weather. The further south these symbols are created, the further winter would envelop these lands. Other theories suggest that it may hold the secret of defeating the Night King. © HBO The Night King was created by the Children of The Forest by piercing a man's chest with Dragonglass. Dragonglass is one of the materials that can also destroy white walkers. If this swirl played a role in the creation of the Night King, just like Dragonglass, it may just also hold the secrets of defeating the Night King. We can't entirely be sure what the Death Swirl means until it is finally revealed in the final season but we can be certain that it plays a crucial role. It may be related to the Night King's ultimate fate or it may just be bigger than that altogether. Remember, George RR Martin has already said in past interviews that the ending to the series will be bittersweet. It's best we forget the traditional “Good Vs. Evil” concept and start preparing for some major shock in the final season of 'Game of Thrones'.
  3. For a team that finished fourth under the leadership of a new captain last season, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), with Dinesh Karthik at the helm of affairs, have come into their own to establish themselves as serious contenders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. The Shah Rukh Khan co-owned franchise has won four out of the six games they've played so far in the tournament. With just two defeats and eight points for their showing, KKR are currently placed at the second spot, right behind defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), in the IPL points table. However, despite a series of clinical performances this season, Kolkata aren't taking any chances when it comes to fixing the chinks in their armour. In fact, in what appears to be a crucial addition to their squad, the Knights are set to introduce Matt Kelly as a replacement for their South African recruit Anrich Nortje who has been ruled out due to a shoulder injury. Welcome #MattKellyð Our pace armoury just got more fiery with this addition ð¥#ComeHome2KKR#KKRHaiTaiyaar#VIVOIPLpic.twitter.com/gY9PMV9Sag — KolkataKnightRiders (@KKRiders) April 11, 2019 While Matt Kelly isn't a name that would straightaway ring a bell, at least in India, his lack of popularity shouldn't overshadow the bowling might this Australian T20 specialist brings to the table. Born in South Africa before moving to Australia at the age of four, Kelly has already proved his credentials with Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. The uncapped Aussie has also played 16 First-Class matches, five List A games and 12 T20s so far in his budding career. But, what makes him a deadly addition to KKR is his ability to outwit the opposition batsmen in the death overs with cunning variations and a mean yorker. That's the length âhttps://t.co/GlqmcKF8Q5 — Brett Lee (@BrettLee_58) April 11, 2019 The 24-year-old's success with the ball has also impressed former Australian greats including Mark Waugh who had earlier described him as a "bolter" with the ability to consistently bowl yorkers at the end of the innings. Waugh further claimed that the youngster deserves to be in the mix for Australia's squad for the ICC World Cup in England and Wales. Dislodged from the top of the points table after a meek surrender to Chennai in their last game, KKR will hope young Kelly comes to the party when they lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) at the hallowed Eden Gardens on 12th April.
  4. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's wedding became national news last year, and even a glimpse of their wedding photographs sent the entire nation into a frenzy. And now, 2019 seems to have started no differently for the couple, what with Ranveer's mega success making the transition to 2019 utterly memorable for the newly-weds. The pair doesn't seem to be able to stay away from the limelight for long, and lately, they made headlines for coming forward and declaring loud and proud, that neither of them will be changing their surnames post marriage. © Instagram In this case, the newly-wed couple was met with the same fate as any other Indian couple. That is, as soon as two people decide to tie the knot, the raging question that arises is, whether the woman will change her surname post marriage. Deepika shared a similar fate, and ever since her wedding in November last year, gossip columns were populated with artfully written pieces speculating if Deepika Padukone will thenceforth be known as Deepika Padukone Singh, Deepika Padukone Bhavnani or some such other variant. © Instagram But as we have already gathered from an HT report, neither Deepika nor Ranveer have any plans of changing their surnames, much against popular buzz doing the rounds. Calling her own comment in an interview, about Ranveer changing his surname pose marriage, a “candid joke”, Deepika further added that, “It's not true. In fact, after that interview, I realised that it's a conversation Ranveer and I've never even had. So, we haven't been like, 'oh, do you think you should change your surname?'” © Instagram She went on to explain that the question about changing her surname came as a surprise since she and Ranveer had never considered it important enough to discuss it. “It has never crossed either of our minds. When I was asked about it, I was like, 'oh, we haven't even thought about it'. Maybe because it's not important. Also, I've worked extremely hard to create my own identity and so has he. So, my question is, why would he have to do that?”, said the 'Padmaavat' star. At this point, I would prompt you to re-read that last statement by Deepika once more. I would have preferred to highlight that bit with a highlighting pen for you, if it was possible. But you get the point. I simply wish to draw your attention to the keywords here - “not important”, “own identity” and “why”. © Instagram And I have the same question, why is it expected from a woman to change her surname once she becomes someone's legally wedded wife? Also, why is it so that a man is seen as a submissive or less powerful when his wife decides to stick to her maiden name after getting married? Why do we as a society wish to meddle with others' personal choice to change or not change their surnames, so as to just carry forward medieval societal “norms and traditions” that secure patriarchal egos and position? © Instagram Changing the surname is often seen as a symbol equivalent of belonging to a community, family or household. Needless to say, the 9th-century 'Doctrine of Coverture' played a role in altering people's mindset in this regard, since such a practice was unheard of before then. But again, this is the 21st century and surely, we ought to leave behind such malpractices in our past and look at women as an independent, fully-functioning individual who is more than someone's wife, mother and daughter-in-law. © Instagram Why do we want to work ourselves up with this need to maintain that a woman must always “belong” to someone? That she needs to be labelled, which would then act as her marker should she get mixed up/misplaced in a country with a population spilling onto the 2 billion mark? Why do we as a society treat it as our birthright to overlook the identity a woman creates and maintains before she decides to get married and share the same with another human being, who also happens to have a 'unique identity' of his own? This is not to say that women who 'choose' to take on their husband's surname after getting married are bartering their identity, or furthering senseless patriarchal norms. Like anybody else, even they have the right to consciously and freely choose for themselves, regardless of the motivation behind it. So my point is, just like Deepika pointed out in her comments, that all of us, both men and women work very hard all our lives to create our own identities that are attached to our personal achievements and histories. And I believe it is utterly unfair for anyone to expect that a woman or a man should change that identity attached to their names, for any reason whatsoever. What do you guys have to say about this? Let us know in the comments section below!
  5. Glute training or butt poses have become way too popular due to the female fitness models on Instagram flexing the muscle or selling booty bands or booty building programs. Due to this, there has been unnecessary sexualization of the booty, with men almost skipping booty work in the gym, as they consider it feminine or associate it with female fitness models. So, now that we have established the importance of developing the glutes, let's look at the top exercises that you can include in your gym routine right away: 1. The Barbell Hip Thrust © Stack You can also do this using a Smith machine if you are a total beginner and feel that it is overworking your lower back. Put your feet on the ground and set up the bar at your hips and your upper back is on the bench. Keeping your back straight, drive the bar off the floor with maximal power until you are at a 45-degree angle to the floor. Come down, pause for a bit and repeat. 2. Single-Leg Romanian Deadlifts © Stack Most people in the gym fail to do a Romanian Deadlift with a proper form. To them, this exercise should be done with extra caution or better yet, after learning the normal Romanian Deadlift properly. Hold a barbell in the top deadlift position, so that you are standing up with the bar in your hands. Now, slowly raise one of your legs off the ground in the opposite direction while lowering the bar down. Ensure that you are maintaining a straight flat back while doing so. Lower the bar until you feel a stretch in the hamstring of the leg planted on the foot and then come back to neutral standing position. This is one rep. Caution: Handling a barbell right from the first time you do this, may not be a good option. Start with a dumbbell, progress to an empty bar, and then move to the loaded bar. 3. Kettlebell Swings © HIIT This exercise will help you develop immense power and speed in your hips. Hold the kettlebell in a half squat position almost touching the ground and drive your hip forward swinging the kettlebell. The hip drive should be as explosive as possible and you should feel the movement in your hips. Ensure that the hip hinging is done and you are not taking the movement on your lower back. Start doing these exercises today and develop some mean and badass glutes. Author bio: Pratik Thakkar is the co-founder and director of GetSetGo Fitness, an online fitness company. 6. On days when Priyanka Chopra is not chilling with Nick Jonas, she is busy making headlines for the same and for the decisions she takes in her professional life. People still haven't stopped talking about her sudden exit from Salman Khan's 'Bharat' or why her movie with Chris Pratt has been delayed for an indefinite time. Instagram However, in all these years or since the time people started following her on social media, her fans have never seen her workout pictures or videos. So what's the secret behind her fitness? I am sure there's no magical fountain she is secretly sipping from. It's obvious that she works hard to be healthy and fit and her latest gym selfie is proof of the same. Recently, Priyanka suprised her 26 million fans with a gym selfie with the caption, "In between sets..#selfies#trainingday." In between sets.. #selfiefirst #trainingday ð¤¦ð½‍âï¸ð A post shared by Priyanka Chopra (@priyankachopra) on Aug 7, 2018 at 12:16am PDT But, that's not even the best part of the picture. The best thing about her gym selfie was a single comment that came from none other than her on-screen brother from 'Dil Dhadakne Do' Ranveer Singh. Being the prankster that Ranveer is, he couldn't stop himself from making the most out of this golden opportunity. He wrote, "PC working out? I have seen everything. What are you eating post workout? Chivda?" Now that sounds like a legit question, doesn't it? Instagram Priyanka Chopra was quick to reply to his comment, "Nahi yaar! I have learned focus and dedication from you!" Honestly, we are in love with this funny banter that's going on between the two. Instagram While everyone including us, her friends and stylist were shocked to see this selfie, it sure is a great motivation for those trying to get a perfect summer body, for 2019 since 2018 is almost over.

  8. Marvel Studios just released 'Ant-Man and The Wasp' as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas. We all know that the movie is set somewhere between 'Captain America: Civil War' and 'Avengers: Infinity War'. What's interesting to see, is how the 'Ant-Man' series is linked with the events of 'Infinity War'. Given the culmination of 'Infinity War' at a point where half of the Universe get disintegrated, everyone wants to know what new elements and theories the latest 'Ant-Man' film has to add to the MCU. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures While there are different theories, the most common belief is that the movie explores the Quantum Realm - where the concepts of time and space do not hold any relevance. Maybe this is how Ant-Man will help the Avengers reverse the chaos that Thanos has created in the Universe? © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures With this film, we also get to meet a new superhero, the Wasp. Evangeline Lilly's character is rumoured to be crucial to in 'Avengers 4', which is due for release on 3rd May 2019. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures On a separate note, Dr. Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas) may also offer some insight into his work with subatomic particles and his association with Howard Stark (Iron Man's father) and S.H.I.E.L.D. Furthermore, the film is about bringing back his wife, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), from the Quantum Realm. © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures We can expect the above answers in 'Ant-Man and The Wasp' and it will also play an important role in linking the 'Ant-Man' series directly with 'Avengers 4' and adding some new interesting facts and tech to the MCU, which may just be necessary to defeat Thanos. So, instead of skipping 'Ant-Man & The Wasp' why not give it a watch? You may just find the answers to some of the questions you've been asking since 'Avengers: Infinity War.'
