If it is hard for a newcomer to make an impact with their first movie in Bollywood, it's harder, considerably more so, when one gets launched in a movie and has to share screen-space with a super established actor. This was precisely what Rohan Mehra had to face, when he made his foray into the big bad world of Bollywood, that too alongside a giant like Saif Ali Khan. However, that did not stop the lad from making an instant connection with the audience with his effortless charm and acting chops - something he seems to have inherited from his father, the iconic Mr Vinod Mehra. © MensXP Outfit Credits: T-Shirt: H&M Bomber: Nor Black Nor White Trousers: H&M Eyewear: Burberry at Luxottica It may only be the beginning for Rohan when it comes to Bollywood, but he already has established himself as a style icon among the youngsters of the country. 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is one of Farhan Akhtar's best-remembered pieces of acting. However, his later performances have not only just received a mild reception but have also failed to leave a mark on the audience's mind. Be it as a lead actor in 'Lucknow Central' or as a supporting actor in 'Dil Dhadakne Do', Farhan didn't quite succeed in winning over his audience with his performance, which was the complete opposite to the phenomenal response to the biopic under Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's direction. © ROMP Pictures While fans have been waiting for Farhan Akhtar to reclaim the silver screen one more time with his acting potential, there's a piece of good news regarding the same that awaits them. After an earlier announcement stating the release of Farhan's first official Bollywood movie 'The Fakir Of Venice' this Friday on 18th January, the 'Rock On!!' star has now made another happy announcement about his upcoming acting project, which will be helmed by none other than Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra! Farhan took to Instagram to break the news to his fans. Here is what he said exactly: View this post on Instagram Thrilled to share that 6 years after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, @rakeyshommehra and I are reuniting to create #Toofan .. a heartfelt story of a boxer. âªHope for your best wishes as we embark on this new journey. It is a fictional story scripted by Anjum Rajabali. Farhan fell in love with it as soon as he heard it. Rakeysh has already started with the prep and Farhan will be training extensively in boxing. He is looking forward to working with Rakeysh again. The film should roll this year.” We really can't wait to see what the pair will whip up this time around.

While we all are eagerly awaiting the release of the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ which addresses the sanitation problems and issues related to building toilets, there is one director who is actually turning it into a reality. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who is known for creating marvels like ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, is currently busy working on a film based on lack on toilets and has been building toilets in the slum where he’s shooting. The film he is working on is titled ‘Mere Pyare Prime Minister’ and is being shot in a slum in Ghatkopar. Mehra, in fact, got a NOC from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to build 20 toilets, including separate toilets for men and women. So far he has built nearly 800 toilets. © Facebook In fact, Mehra has joined forces with ‘Yuva Unstoppable’, an NGO, and together they have been building toilets for the past four years, thus transforming the face of the slum area. Mehra said, “We don’t just build toilets and walk away but we also make sure the locals maintain them. We’ve been having meetings with slum-dwellers and corporators of the area, urging them to put one rupee in the donation box so that the community workers can be given their dues.” Mehra further said that his contribution is “not even a drop in the ocean.” On one hand where some directors are creating awareness through their movies, Mehra has already set an example in the real world. © Flickr He took inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s model toilets at the Sabarmati Ashram, and these toilets are said to be as good as the ones that private buildings have, with proper pipelines and tap extensions. Mehra has reportedly moved shooting to a slum behind the Powai Lake and he is planning to build toilets in that area as well. Talking about his film, it revolves around four kids living in a Mumbai slum where one of them wants to build a toilet and appeals to the Prime Minister for the same. We salute Mehra for working towards the betterment of the society. It seems that Bollywood has finally taken a fancy towards civic issues and let’s just hope that people don’t just watch it in theatres but also implement it in their real lives. Source: DNA
Rohan Mehra was a promising contender on this season of Bigg Boss and was loved by the audience. He played a fair game and even made it to the top 4 in the house. It was at this top 4 point that both Rohan and Bani J were nominated. Since they both have huge fan followings, the competition was expected to be tough. But according to a video shot by a follower of the show, it seems that the voting process was rigged. The video in question recently came to light as Rohan himself shared it on his Twitter account. The video shows the person in the process of voting on the Bigg Boss app and every time he tried to vote for Rohan, a message popped up saying ‘Cannot vote at the moment’ but at the same time accepted votes for Bani J with a pop-up window saying ‘Thank you for voting.’ The video also shows how multiple votes for Bani J were easily accepted but votes were Rohan were not processing at all. I have nothing else to say after watching this video on the day of voting.just want to get over BB now ...peace ✌️ pic.twitter.com/MOqK10CeaX — Rohan Mehra (@rohan4747) February 14, 2017 The makers of the show probably have some explaining to do.
