  1. How do you usually buy your perfumes—online or offline? Buying a perfume used to be a simpler experience. Spray, let it sit, smell it and decide whether you like it enough to purchase the bottle or not. These days, we’re typing the OTPs left, right and centre. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it but it’s a hit and trial situation with fragrances. What helped me make the right purchase every single time was the understanding of the top, heart and base notes of a fragrance. You too can learn how to pick the perfect perfume, even when you can’t test it. 1. Top Notes: The First ImpressionAll the notes you can detect in perfume after the first spray are the top ones. Headnotes consist of smaller, lighter and more volatile molecules that evaporate quickly. Top notes usually linger for the first to fifteen minutes. Their purpose is to set the mood and then transition smoothly into the middle notes. Citrus scents—like lemon, orange and bergamot—light floral notes of lavender and rose, basil etc. are often used as top notes. __ECOMPRODUCT__3168__ 2. Middle/Heart Notes: The Foundation Middle notes’ aka the heart of a fragrance’s function is to retain some of the top notes’ aroma while introducing new scents to deepen the olfactory experience. Heart notes make up 40-80% of the total scent and last longer than top notes. They serve as a buffer for the base notes, which may not smell pleasant on their own. Aromatic florals like geranium, neroli, ylang-ylang, jasmine and spices like pepper, lemongrass, cinnamon and cardamom are often used as middle notes. __ECOMPRODUCT__2702__ 3. Base Notes: Lasting ImpressionBase notes are calming and slowest to appear. They’re deep, rich, comforting and warm in nature. They kick in after about thirty minutes and can last for hours. Base notes sink into your skin and make a lasting impression on anyone who stands close to you. Vanilla, amber, musk, patchouli, oud, moss and woody sandalwood and cedarwood are some of the popular base notes. __ECOMPRODUCT__3171__ How To Choose Your Perfume Without TestingThe lighter the weight of the molecule, the quicker it will evaporate off your skin, into the air and then into your nose. So when you can’t test a fragrance before you buy it or are overwhelmed by the variety, focus on base notes. Your second priority should be the middle notes. Do not buy a perfume for its top notes. 2. I have a tough job. Or so I thought up until a few moments ago when I realized that sitting in the comfort of your house and reporting on events across the world isn’t half as challenging or difficult as opposed to actually being part of those incidents that people like me write about. View this post on Instagram For context, I must add that this is coming from a certain incident that took place in the UK where a pilot had to land an airplane in the middle of a storm that is currently wreaking havoc in the country. Captain Khalifa Al-Thani was travelling from Doha, Qatar, to London, England when he was caught in the middle of the chaos that storm Eunice was spreading in the UK. Landing Boeing 777 during Storm Eunice wasn’t going to be an easy feat, but even the odds didn’t deter captain Khalifa Al-Thani who maintained his calm until he had landed the aircraft and everyone in it safely to the ground. Amazing - here’s my friend Captain Khalifa Al Thani landing his Boeing 777 in #StormEunice at a windy London Heathrow Airport today…a side-by-side video with BigJet TV’s now famous commentary pic.twitter.com/lVGJzsBo8m — Alex Macheras (@AlexInAir) February 18, 2022 Several videos were being shared of the chaos in the air where airplanes were struggling to land, and Big Jet TV managed to release one such video that has now gone viral owing to the overwhelming landing of the Boeing 777. In fact, Al-Thani went ahead to post footage of himself during the landing, where he could be seen proceeding with both- calm and caution. Sharing the video on Instagram, Al-Thani wrote, “Storm Eunice Landing - Huge thanks to ‘Big Jet TV’ for the awesome coverage today and the exterior footage.” And what came next were lauding comments from people who called the pilot one with ‘nerves of steel’. One handed . Respect to all those pilots today, they were amazing — Debbie Try (@debbie_try) February 18, 2022He’s a strong man. So cool to watch. Must have nerves of steel. — Mary Harris (@maryharristw) February 18, 2022Having grown up with a Dad and two brothers as pilots and being endlessly tired of their flying chat... now have a new found appreciation! https://t.co/COBHHPcWFH — Amy Voce (@amyvoce) February 19, 2022One user wrote, “Scary to watch but excellent handling,” while another one went ahead and commented, “Star quality landing in this storm which is the worst we have had for quite a while. Nerves of steel you have.” I’ve never seen that before and it’s absolutely amazing. I never imagined all the movement, I expected the steering to be really steady and actually it’s all over the place — Becca M - ADHD (@SparklyB) February 19, 2022Few things more satisfying than to watch a skilled craftsman at work! https://t.co/ZRDj5kjDdk — Neil Garratt AM (@NeilGarratt) February 19, 2022The video was also shared by an aviation analyst who wrote, “Amazing - here’s my friend Captain Khalifa Al Thani landing his Boeing 777 in #StormEunice at a windy London Heathrow Airport today… a side-by-side video with BigJet TV’s now famous commentary.” View the full article
  3. He is unfiltered, unapologetic, never shies away from putting forth his opinions and steers clear of the privilege that the 'Deol' tag offers him, particularly in his career. We are talking about none other than Abhay Deol here, the man who took his sweet time to carve a niche for himself in the industry, solely based on his acting prowess. View this post on Instagram While most actors were busy ensuring the fact that their box office scores kept soaring, we had Abhay on the other side, churning out meaningful stories with his power-packed performances. He is surely among the rare breed of sorted actors we have in the industry right now. Be it 'Dev D' or 'Aisha' or 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', Abhay has never failed to impress us with his brilliance in his craft. He has come a long way and invested into a beautiful house for himself in Goa in the midst of a forest. Abhay gave a home tour to the team of Asian Paints for their show Where The Heart Is. View this post on Instagram The outskirts of Abhay’s house looks like a greenhouse and the actor called his home a ‘a glass house in the middle of the forest’. He said, “It’s a plot in the middle of the forest. And I really wanted to basically bring the environment into the house. So it is essentially a glass house in a forest." © Asian Paints While giving the tour, he mentioned that he specified to his architect that he doesn’t want windows in the house but large sliding doors. He said. "So my brief to my architect was I don’t want any windows. I want opening doors, of glass, and ceiling so high that if I’m standing and looking at a person, I can’t even see the ceiling. That’s how high I want it." © Asian Paints © Asian Paints The dining area of the house is styled very simplistically. The granite and the dark wooded pattern look both elegant and royal. The house gives a rustic feel with dark granite flooring and wooden elements. His large living room provides a beautiful view of his front garden and the forest behind it. It’s this area where he loves hosting his guests. © Asian Paints © Asian Paints The kitchen of the house is also very minimalistic. Through the kitchen, you can also see the lush garden outside his house which is probably the setting of his home as you feel very close to nature in every nook and corner of the house. © Asian Paints © Asian Paints The house also offers a beautiful swimming pool area. © Asian Paints You can watch the full video of the house here: It’s a dream house if you want to step out of the hustle bustle of your city life. 4. Tom Holland is one such actor who really wears his heart on his sleeve. The Spider-Man star is, as everyone knows, dating co-star Zendaya, who plays Mary Jane in the film. © Marvel Studios And well, their love story too, is not very dissimilar to what Peter Parker and Mary Jane have in the movies as well as the comics. Recent interviews and public appearances have shown that Tom is smitten by Zendaya and it's the other way around as well. Now, the latest incident of this was when Tom was walking on the Red Carpet of his latest Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: No Way Home . As it turns out, the actor was scheduled for an interview and was in the middle of it, just when he suddenly stopped right in the middle of it. Why? Because he spotted Zendaya! Yeah! According to the video of the interview, it looks like he either hears the fans echoing Zendaya's name or he catches a glimpse of her. But the British actor suddenly glitches just at the thought of Zendaya! We obviously loved every bit of it. And you will too, once you watch this adorable video. This is truly cute and we love the fact that he is totally head over heels for her. © Reuters The two actors will obviously be seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it looks like that if all goes well, we might be seeing more of them soon, with Marvel head Kevin Feige reportedly wanting Tom back for another Spider-Man trilogy. During the Red Carpet interview, Tom even spoke about how overwhelmed he is with the reception that the upcoming movie seems to be getting. "I honestly feel a little bit numb. This has been the most incredible experience. This whole journey from the day I got cast. My agent's here and we were just talking about the moment I got my first callback, and we thought, 'Oh, wow, maybe I could actually get this film.' And here we are promoting Spider-Man 3. I am blown away. To share it with my friends and my family. Honestly, this means the world." Spider-Man: No Way Home releases in theaters worldwide on December 17 and in India on December 16. 5. We all have a little bad or evil inside of us that often comes out in ways of savage comebacks or in a rebellious nature. But it would be safe to say that this badassery might be a little more apparent in some people more than in others. © Phantom Films And it seems like, one thing that can help us differentiate between them is a little bit of cosmology that can tell us through an astrological perspective about people’s most dominant personality traits. Which is why, when you go out wondering what drives that badass streak in you, it could be quite possible that it is your zodiac sign. Especially if you belong to any of the following: 1. Scorpio © iStock One sign that should never be taken lightly, Scorpios are known for their bossiness and their sass. They stand for always getting their way and for that, they seldom ever resort to being decent. For them, the only way to live life is on their terms and by being brutally honest. 2. Gemini © iStock This sign is often found treading along the line of right and wrong, especially since it is very strategic and manipulative in nature. Although Geminis only pull out their true badass self when they are challenged or pushed into a corner, because once that happens, there is no going back for them. 3. Leo © iStock Leos are probably one of the meanest signs on the list. They love to give people a taste of their own medicine and can often catch you off guard. ‘Savage’ could be their middle name more so because Leos enjoy having that power to tick people off whenever they want. And damn, are they good at it. 4. Aquarius © iStock One thing you should know about Aquarians is that they know how to play people. They can put on a show better than performance artists and when the time comes, they can shake the ground from underneath you. They are smooth at what they do, and destroying people who wronged them is one they get a kick out of. View the full article
  6. Coming from a small village in Haryana, javelin thrower Neerja Chopra, at such a young age, has achieved what many dream of. After releasing his biggest dream of winning an Olympic gold for the country, the 23-year-old athlete has fulfilled yet another “small dream” of his when he took his parents on their first-ever flight. A small dream of mine came true today as I was able to take my parents on their first flight. आज जिंदगी का एक सपना पूरा हुआ जब अपने मां - पापा को पहली बार फ्लाइट पर बैठा पाया। सभी की दुआ और आशिर्वाद के लिए हमेशा आभारी रहूंगा pic.twitter.com/Kmn5iRhvUf — Neeraj Chopra (@Neeraj_chopra1) September 11, 2021 For many it might not be that big of a big deal but for Neeraj it certainly was. The happiness on his face as his mother and father boarded a plane for their first-ever aerial journey knew no bounds. Sharing the pictures on the micro-blogging site, Neeraj wrote: “A small dream of mine came true today as I was able to take my parents on their first flight.” Ever since he became the Olympic champion, no other athlete has gotten as much attention as Neeraj did. Despite that, he has not forgotten his roots and that’s what people love about him. © Reuters This love has led to an unprecedented increase in his brand value that has gone through the roof, rising by 1000 per cent within a matter of a few weeks. According to reports, he is the second-most expensive athlete in the country only behind Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. Which means any association with this is going to cost brands 10-times more. © Reuters From a bright medal prospect to becoming only the second individual Olympic gold medallist for the country, Neeraj has come a long way. He has become an inspiration of millions of Indians who have a dream in their eyes of making it big one day. His story gives them hope that with hard work and determination, they can also achieve their dreams. Here’s how people reacted: Dream of every middle class person for their parents. The throw of 87.5m that won Neeraj gold medal at Tokyo Games has etched his name in the history of Indian athletics but, like all champion athletes, he isn’t satisfied. His next aim is to become a world champion and he knows what he needs to do to achieve that goal. View the full article

  10. Harbhajan Singh has to be one of the most beloved members of the Indian cricket team and his fan-following continues to be intact despite not playing as a ‘Man in Blue’ since 2016 and struggling to make an impact in the Indian Premier League in the past couple of years. However, a supposed fan, for some reason believed that ‘Bhajji’ has formed a certain bias in favour of the people who are rich and “verified” on social media while simply ignoring his middle-class and simple fans. @harbhajan_singh accept the fact sir you dont think about a middle class family u give reply or discussion everything for who have blue tick or have everything in their life but who really needs you dont reply Is this your humanity??? — ~DêäR ČoM®️aDe~ (@helpiinghandss) April 24, 2021 “@harbhajan_singh accept the fact sir you dont think about a middle class family u give reply or discussion everything for who have blue tick or have everything in their life but who really needs you dont reply Is this your humanity???” Twitter user @helpiinghandss wrote. And a lot of people actually believe that that was in fact the case. I think its not specific to Bhajji, all stars (Journalist, Politicians, Sports-Media personalities, officers) respond only to blue tick holders. — Prateek Gupta (@erprateekgupta) April 24, 2021 True. Harbhajan Singh has recently started a mobile laboratory for COVID-19 testing in Pune which was scheduled to get into action from Saturday onwards. “Indian cricketer Harbajan Singh had approached us a few days ago and offered help to contain the Covid-19 surge. The mobile lab for Covid-19 testing will start at Vadgaonsheri tomorrow,” said state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil on Friday, according to The Indian Express.
