  1. One of India's most loved 'older' social media stars, multi-millionaire Anand Mahindra's active social media presence, and regular engagement with his followers has made him super popular with young and old alike. Mr. Mahindra always makes sure that he posts about things that are not just related to his work and industry, but also initiates interesting conversations on social media. © Reuters While many of us must have already noticed that Mr. Mahindra's Twitter account is sprinkled with numerous posts that are informative, entertaining and inspiring for his audience, he recently took to his Twitter account and shared a video of a man talking in sign language over a video call. © Twitter Sharing the video, Mr Mahindra underlined that everything has its pros and cons, and while today people are quick to condemn the growing and excessive use of technology, it is also helping millions to live a better life. This is what he had to say, "We often criticise the way in which mobile devices have taken over our world… It's good to remind ourselves that these devices have also OPENED up a whole new world of communication for many of us.” We often criticise the way in which mobile devices have taken over our world.. It's good to remind ourselves that these devices have also OPENED up a whole new world of communication for many of us... pic.twitter.com/kricI2dNeG — anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) December 27, 2019 Of course, like all the other times, Mr. Mahindra succeeded in opening up a conversation over this video. Good & bad use of any tool depends on the the user and not the technology itself. We criticise because we don't like to blame ourselves or accept that we have lost control on our own senses. Efforts has to be taken to learn to control senses and not growth of technology.#yoga — Anu Kushwaha (@KushwahaAnu) December 27, 2019 Many agree with you Mr. Mahindra. Thanks for this sharing @anandmahindra. I'm deaf as I have used communication with family and friends using mobile device through video call. It is not barriers. Thanks new world and new technology. 2. Sometimes to bring an end to a bad day, you need to go through your social media feed to feel lighter with all the useless humour thrown your way. The kind of stuff you find online is sometimes rather funny and definitely puts an end to your mundane day. Just recently the Michigan police released a video of a CCTV footage of a thief robbing a store and trust me, it ended fairly terribly for him. For us though, it was quite a laugh! So, the thief goes in to rob a mobile shop and gets trolled heavily, in the process. The CCTV footage released by the Westland Police in Michigan shows a man wearing a tan coloured jacket enter a mobile store. He then goes ahead to pull something out from the shelf where the mobile phones are displayed. © YouTube But alas, as soon as he tries to pull the phones out with all his might, the entire shelf falls on his head, making him seem rather stupid. It's quite a hilarious moment to witness actually and we're glad it was caught on camera. © YouTube However, he picks himself up, with a few mobile phone boxes and gallantly tries to walk out, pretending like nothing ever happened. Watch the full video here: I don't know about you guys but this incident actually made us laugh like crazy. Well, what goes around comes around I guess.

  4. E3 2018 is currently taking place in Los Angeles, where major publishers reveal their latest games for 2018 and the following years. The video game trade show is known for showcasing new games and hardware, that will eventually become a part of the everyday life of gamers. Microsoft and Electronic Arts showcased a new technology at their press conferences, to showcase streaming services that will be coming to various devices. These streaming services will be able to offer console-level games that were not possible on smartphones previously. © Electronic Arts Smartphones and their GPUs are often limited to offer a complete gaming experience due to many constraints like the silicon chip itself. This has prevented publishers from releasing AAA level games on smartphones that may be overcome, thanks to the new streaming services by Microsoft and EA. Even though both companies did not reveal the launch date of the service or pricing details, one thing is certain, it is coming in the near future. Microsoft's Phil Spencer confirmed last night that the company's cloud technology team is working hard to build a platform that will let smartphone users play games with console-level graphics quality. Spencer said Microsoft is “dedicated to perfecting your experience everywhere you want to play; your Xbox, your PC and your phone.” EA's teaser was somewhat similar, where the service will host games like FIFA, Battlefield and other titles on its streaming service. © Electronic Arts The smartphone gaming business is very lucrative as the player base is bigger than traditional gamers on consoles. It will not only make games more accessible to audiences all over the world, it will also result in huge profits for the two companies. Imagine playing FIFA 18 on your smartphone that works exactly how it does on consoles and PCs. The new streaming service will be a paradigm-shifting move for the industry as a whole and will take the game to a whole new level. Will it be practical? It most definitely will be. Indian telecom companies have already started investing heavily in broadband and OTA services that will make game streaming possible. It's quite possible that these gaming services will rely on 5G networking technologies which will be rolled out soon in various countries. It's no secret that gaming streaming services will use up a lot of data which can be problematic for Indian smartphone users. Regardless of all the hurdles that will be faced by these companies, it sure is a move that a lot of people will love and appreciate.
  5. The medals which will be used in the next Olympics, to be held in Tokyo, will be made out of recycled mobiles and gadgets, according to the organizers. Tokyo is set to host the Games in 2020 and this step will make the competition a more environment friendly edge. "Medals made with recycled metals from discarded mobile phones and other gadgets can be a symbol of sustainability and public participation," spokeswoman Hikariko Ono told reporters. © Facebook Although, Ono added, that whether some or all medals will use recycled material will be decided later on. Ono further said that the Games have been using recycled material for medals since the Vancouver Winter Olympics since 2010. Even this year’s Rio Olympics used recycled metal Gold and Bronze medals. © Facebook The cost efficiency of these medals remains unclear though. According to experts, the total budget of the Games could reach USD 30 billion - four times the initial estimate and almost triple that of the 2012 London Olympics.
