But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off her nose." JP leader Ram Kadam had called his statement "shocking". In order to contain the issue, Saif had to apologise for his comment about portraying the demon king Raavan in a "humane" manner. He said, "I've been made aware that one of my statements during an interview, has caused a controversy and hurt people's sentiments. This was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologise to everybody and withdraw my statement." "Lord Ram has always been the symbol of righteousness and heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions." View the full article

  4. There’s no denying the fact that nepotism exists in our industry but why overlook the stories of people who entered the industry as outsiders and are now part of the same Bollywood. Apart from Kapoors and Bhatts, some people are running the industry and they managed to break through the biased industry norms. Only based on their talent and dedication, they turned their fate and their stories are so inspiring that they can be turned into stand-alone movies. 1. Shah Rukh Khan View this post on Instagram He might be the king of Bollywood now but he was a nobody when he saw the dreams of conquering Mumbai. SRK quit his masters in Mass Communication to pursue his acting career. With no connections, he made it big. From TV to Bollywood, his rags to riches can be an ideal script for a movie that has both romance and drama. 2. Akshay Kumar View this post on Instagram Akshay Kumar dropped out of college during higher education and went to Thailand to learn martial arts and be a chef. He had no money to even stay at a rented accommodation and now, he is probably the most business-minded in the industry. With his movie, we might get an insight into how he changed his fate and became one of the bankable stars. 3. Boman Irani View this post on Instagram Today, Boman Irani might be one of the versatile actors we have but he started his journey as a waiter. In his own words, “As a kid I had a speech defect, I had a lisp, I used to actually talk like my character Virus from 3 Idiots. To make matters worse I was dyslexic, who was not good at academics. People used to call me Boman the duffer. So I decided to do a course to be a waiter and joined The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel as a waiter. I worked there for 2 years and put my heart into it. My granny used to say – ‘gali ka mochi bano, toh bhi sabse acha mochi bano’, basically be the best in anything you do and that has stayed with me always.” When his mother met with an accident, he started to sit at his ancestral bakery story. In an interview, he said, “I started sitting in our shop. I sat in the shop for over 14 years. It was a long time. So imagine sitting in a shop and saying to myself that I think I am a creative person, I think I need to do something with my ability to either write, or to understand, or to put down words, or to break down a screenplay and understand it…I think I am passionate about all that. Actually, I have been a student in cinema since I was 12-years-old. As a kid, my mom used to encourage me to see films every day, over and over again. She told me to observe cinematography, acting, music, camera movements, lyrics, lighting… everything. I used to watch movies 30 to 40 times at Alexander theater, so I was passionate about cinema. So what do I do? At 32 nobody was making me an actor because that’s a funny age, you are neither too young nor too old to play characters. So what’s the next best thing to do? I bought a camera from the money that I had saved from the tips I got at Taj as a waiter and decided to become a photographer.” It was quite late in life that he made it big so his story can actually be a perfect plot. 4. Nawazuddin Siddiqui View this post on Instagram From a watchman to an actor that many take inspiration from is surely a story that we would want to see on the big screens. In an interview with DNA, Nawaz shared his journey and said, “belong to a family of farmers. We are based in this village called B-U-D-H-A-N-A, in district Muzaffarnagar of Uttar Pradesh. There wasn’t much scope for education there. But somehow my siblings (7 brothers and 2 sisters) and I managed to study. In my village, only three things work ,gehu (wheat), ganna (sugarcane), and gun. The fear this gun culture instilled made us move out of our village. It was much later that I started taking interest in theatre. After completing my studies, I took up jobs like that of a chief chemist in Baroda. Then I joined a theatre group in Delhi. Since there is no money in the theatre I had to take up a job as a watchman. All these things happened simultaneously. Then I enrolled myself in the National School of Drama (NSD), passing out in 1996. I worked in Delhi for four years before finally moving to Mumbai in 2000.” 5. Arshad Warsi View this post on Instagram Arshad has had a life full of hardships. He was 14 when he lost his father and everything just downhill for the actor. He dropped out of school in 10th grade to earn a living. From being a door-to-door salesman to working in a photo lab, Arshad had worked hard to sustain. Even though he has been a part of the industry for a long, he still hasn’t got the due. His life journey should surely be shown on the big screen. 5. As the saying goes that 'everything is fair in love and war' , a Chhattisgarh man has just proved that right. Well, as 'dabangg' as anyone could ever get, this man married two women at the same time in the same “mandap” in presence of family members and villagers with all the rituals and formalities. The 24-year-old Chandu Maurya, as per the news reports, solemnised his marriage with the two women, both his lovers, at a ceremony attended by 500 people on January 5, HT reported. “I decided to marry both of them because they both loved me. I can’t betray them. They agreed they both will live with me forever,” Chandu told the newspaper. Meanwhile a video from the wedding ceremony and the invitation card of the function have gone viral on social media. Here’s the most unusual love story Maurya, a marginal farmer and laborer in Maoist-affected Bastar district, said he had fallen in love with Sundari Kashyap, 21, in Tokapal area when he had gone there to install electricity poles. The two planned to marry each other, but a year later, Haseena Baghel entered the life of Maurya. The 20-year-old was attending a wedding in his village Tikralohnga when the two met and fell in love. HT reported that Maurya told Haseena that he was already in a relationship but that did not stop her from wanting a relationship with him. “Both Haseena and Sundari came to know about each other and agreed to have a relationship with me,” he said. Well, it didn’t stop there. In fact, the three also started living together at Maurya’s house, where he lives with his parents and two siblings. The family members of Haseena came to attend the marriage ceremony but Sundari’s family skipped the function, said Chandu. Did you know this is not the first time that a man has married two women at the same time? A man in Madhya Pradesh has married two women at the same ceremony last year. In 2020, Sandeep Uike, a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Betul, had married two women at a ceremony on July 8. One of the women was Uike’s girlfriend and the other was a bride chosen by his parents. The wedding was held with the approval of all three families. Tell us your thoughts on this in the space below. View the full article
  6. After Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death, Rhea Chakraborty faced the brunt of the public as they held her accountable for his demise. Following which, Sushant’s family had filed an abetment of suicide case against her. She was also arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on a drug-related charge in a case linked to the actor’s death. View this post on Instagram Now, Rumi Jaffery, who was set to cast Sushant and Rhea in one frame, has spoken in favour of her and also said that he is positive that she will make a comeback in Bollywood in 2021. “I am confident she will get through this phase. Everybody around will advise you to be brave, but only the one going through [the ordeal] knows how difficult it is. Time is the best healer; with time, she will be fine. She is a talented artiste and will be ready to bounce back,” he told Mid-Day. He also added that he has high regard for those who stood by her and supported her in her troubled phase. “People drew their own conclusions on the matter. Ideally, we should wait for the judiciary [to give its verdict]. Every coin has two sides, but Rhea should also get a fair trial. I have the highest regard for those who supported her then,” said the director. He had recently met Rhea and revealed that she is not her usual self and was withdrawn and quiet. She didn’t speak much and he can’t blame her after what she has gone through. He also added, "Let the heat and dust settle down. I’m sure Rhea will have a lot to say.” View this post on Instagram Do you support Rumi’s point of view? Let us know in the comments section below. View the full article

The director and producer of Dhaakad also tweeted to confirm that the film was very much happening. Later, Rangoli revealed that Ahmed called Kangana to apologise and said that he was misquoted, but they were still sending him a legal notice for claiming that Dhaakad was shelved. 10. Even though Johnny Depp has played more iconic roles than probably any other actor, the one that will always stand out is Captain Jack Sparrow. Johnny Depp's portrayal of the legendary pirate is something he'll always be remembered by and that's why it's a shame that he won't be making a cameo in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. © Disney Now, Disney is pursuing a reboot starring Margot Robbie instead. A report released by The Hollywood Reporter said, "Disney had already backed away from a Pirates future with Depp well before the U.K. trial, even if it never formally severed ties. Bruckheimer, who has been one of Depp's biggest champions and once suggested the finger injury happened because "he got it caught in a car door," was hoping to at least bring the Captain Jack Sparrow character back briefly in the next outing — said to be a female-centric incarnation fronted by Margot Robbie. Disney balked." View the full article
  11. After action, romance, comedy and patriotic dramas, the new formula to guarantee box office success is a biopic. From MS Dhoni to Mary Kom, filmmakers have monetized the stories of popular people and the audience has also lapped up the idea of biopics. And now, a biopic has been announced on Indian chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, which would be directed by filmmaker Aanand L Rai. Yesterday, trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “BIOPIC ON VISWANATHAN ANAND... A biopic on #Indian chess grandmaster #ViswanathanAnand has been planned... 12. As the decade comes to an end with 2020 closing in on us in a few days, reminiscence is probably a good or a bad idea, depending on what you are reminiscing. As far as music is concerned, the latest remake of Husn Hai Suhana got me thinking about all the iconic 90s dancing songs we all continue dancing to. Here are 15 such tracks that we absolutely love: 1. Husn Hai SuhanaThe new version of this song has been trending since yesterday but nothing beats the charm of this original track. 2. Sona Kitna Sona HaiAnother Govinda song on the list which had all of us dancing to this song from Hero No. 1. 3. Saat Samundar PaarEven today, I don’t recall one single party which ends without people grooving and clapping to this one! 4. Main Kudi Anjaani HoWho can forget the gorgeous Sushmita Sen swooning to this refreshing track! All the girls went crazy copying this number at weddings. 5. Ole OleAll guys loved and wished it was their background life track for real! 6. Kisi Disco Main JaayeI have been personally dreaming of converting this song into reality throughout the pandemic because all I want to do is go to a disco, or go out and eat! 7. Tamma TammaBappi Lahiri’s gift to all our play lists which continues to play even today. 8. Mehendi Laga Ke RakhnaOkay this might be a wedding number avidly, but we all have danced to this track while growing up so obviously it had to be on our list. 9. Chaiyya ChaiyyaHaven’t we all dreamt of dancing on a train like SRK when this iconic dance number broke all records when it was released? 10. Yeh Kaali Kaali AankheinYepp, I know you sang ‘Tu ru ru’ and completed this sentence before I could. So I basically don’t need to tell you why it's on my list. 11. Chunnari ChunnariThat shimmy, flowing red scarf and just imagining dancing to this one with a good looking human was my inspiration for playing it all through my school life. 12. Tera Rang Balle BalleFor some weird reason, I recall this playing on every 90s birthday party, especially when we played musical chairs as the music stopped right when we shouted ‘naiyo naiyo’. 13. Kay Sera SeraI love this track and I am pretty sure you do too! Still feels like it was released yesterday. 14. Tan Tana TanThis one was repackaged and released again when the movie was remade but isn’t it still fun to dance to this iconic song from the 90s? 15. Jumma ChummaThis list would have been incomplete without this song, so it obviously had to be here. View the full article
  13. A lot of money is spent when movies are made and besides the intriguing set of the movies, it's also the costumes, hair and makeup that are considered to redeem the look and feel of the movie. The directors already have the makeup department, do some tasteful work on actors, so that they are able to portray their character on-screen well. This has sometimes failed though to reach the hearts of the audience. Hence, here we take a look at the worst hairdos of male actors as seen on the big screen. Check it out. 1. Bradley Cooper In American Hustle © Columbia Pictures In the movie American Hustle, Bradley Cooper was seen in permed hair. Russell's goal here was to create the look of seventies glamour for the star and he had his hair perfectly curled for the same. The look was time-consuming and though distinct, it didn't match well with his character on-screen. 2. Chris Tucker In The Fifth Element © Gaumont Tucker throughout his time on the famous talk show, was seen sporting some crazy hairstyles with insane costumes. Earlier the looks for The Fifth Element weren't supposed to be so OTT but turns out, to give it more characteristic, the plan changed and so did his hairstyles, giving us nightmares for years to come. 3. Brad Pitt In Johnny Suede © Amazon Do you remember Brad Pitt's look from his 1991 movie, Johnny Suede? Well, the actor was seen showcasing his inner Johnny Bravo. While this hairstyle was pretty popular back in the day, with big bulky hair thing going on top, Brad Pitt's look only made us hope that his hair doesn't fall on his face. 4. Javier Bardem In No Country For Old Men © Scott Rudin Productions Javier Bardem was the bad guy of the movie No Country For Old Men, but when he entered the scene with a horrific bowl haircut, he looked like an Amish girl, to say the least. He himself said that he was distressed with the 'bob' look. "It was just depressing to look in the mirror and see that haircut. I had to live with that! It wasn't a wig. It was my hair! You go to the market to buy your milk and people get weird, like really scared." That's all! 5. Keanu Reeves In I Love You To Death © Tristar Pictures Keanu Reeves is quite an attractive man, but even he couldn't make his rat style, patchy hair look work in the movie, I Love You To Death. Too cringey! 6. Tom Cruise In Magnolia © Ghoulardi Film Company Tom Cruise tried to ace the luscious long hair look for the movie Magnolia but the hairstyle looked extremely ludicrous on him if we are being honest. Cruise should stick to his short sides and back, that's always the best look on him. 7. Taylor Lautner In Twilight © Summit Entertainment Yes, Jacob black character's was loved by everyone but one can't deny the teen wolf's long coiffure, in the first instalment of the series. His hair itself was giving a tough competition to Kristen Stewart's hair in the movie. We are so glad he decided to chop it all off for the subsequent parts! 8. Dwayne Johnson In Be Cool © Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Our very own Dwayne Johnson now sports his shaved noggin, usually with a full beard or a goatee and that's the look we adore him in. But, the time when he pulled off the cowboy-meets-gangster look with a light goatee in Be Cool, it stirred in some real guffaw for all of us. View the full article
  14. When you are an actor who is trying to own up the look of a character, one of the most challenging things to keep in mind is the aesthetic appeal. Many films demand characters to don a certain ‘look’ which is very different from the natural look of the actor playing the part. So to keep the secrecy intact and ensure that the audience is surprised when they watch the movie in theatres, actors keep their movie look under cover and take extra precaution while stepping out in public. Here are 5 such actors who tried their best to ensure that their movie look was literally kept under a garb and kept the fans guessing: 1. Amitabh bachchanWhen he took on the challenge to play Auro in Paa, there was major hype around the prosthetics and the make up that was used to create this look for him. It was very difficult for the actor to ensure that the look was kept a secret and he tried his best to keep away from any cameras on the set that could leak the look. 2. Ranveer SinghRight before his super hit Bajirao Mastani was released, the superstar was always spotted with a handlebar moustache and a hat. This was his public appearance look for almost a year as he was supposed to keep the whole look under cover. Surely, this worked for him as we were indeed surprised to see the final look on the big screen. © Instagram 3. Shahid KapoorKnown to own up every role he takes up, this amazing actor went the extra mile in keeping his hair look as a big secret for Haider as well Udta Punjab. Shahid’s hair experiments were worth the wait as both the looks were a big hit amongst his fans. © Instagram 4. Ranbir KapoorWhen he was shooting for Rockstar, his ‘Jordan’ look was kept under the wraps for the general public. Cameras were strictly prohibited on sets and while the look was never leaked when he was shooting in India, during the Prague schedule, his look was leaked and fans went into a frenzy. © Instagram 5. Abhishek BachchanHis much-awaited look from his upcoming movie Bob Biswas got leaked today and the actor looks absolutely unrecognisable. Earlier, he had managed to keep this look under the wraps but post looking at it today on social media, it is safe to say that AB baby fans are excited for this one to drop soon. © Instagram View the full article
