  1. It is said that natural disasters are equalizers. They don’t discriminate between class, religion and gender. That is not entirely true
  2. Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik are among the biggest names to be a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad during the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both are gifted batters and are extremely important for the success of the squad but when it comes to their characteristics, they are miles apart. In a video that has been making rounds all over the internet, both the cricketers can be seen in a single frame, showing how they truly behave and function in their natural habitat and away from the facade that being a cricketer in India brings along with it. View this post on Instagram In RCB’s stunning victory against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday during which Karthik played an exceptionally important knock to chase down the total and remain unbeaten in the process. He took just 23 deliveries to score 44 runs while smashing seven 4’s and a 6 as well. Following the match, Karthik was being interviewed inside the RCB dressing room when the hilariously insightful video was taken and instantly became a fan-favourite. Aaag lage basti mein pic.twitter.com/yLRECzG0tT — Shivani (@meme_ki_diwani) April 6, 2022 In the video, Karthik can be seen talking about the match and his plan of execution like a well prepared, loyal student ready to take an exam. In fact, he even talks about his training as if he was preparing for a test with tough questions. And in the background of the same video, the former RCB skipper Kohli and his new massage partner, Glenn Maxwell could be seen dancing, chilling and casually having the time of their lives without a care in the world about what’s next, just like a couple of backbenchers in a classroom. Fans loved what they see and had some hilarious reactions to the two contrasting individuals doing their own things within the same video frame at the same time: Kitna masti khor h ye — Parinita (@imParinita18) April 6, 2022@imVkohli jaisa koi hardich nahi hai https://t.co/bByRqOfGFu — iwasimphone (@iwasimphone) April 6, 2022Topper - backbenchers https://t.co/t9vvI62Jrm — 𝐍𝐍 (@North__Nibba) April 6, 2022Virat is more happier this season I have ever seen! — hail hydra™ (@kirkitexpert) April 6, 2022Without captaincy pressure Virat feel too good https://t.co/rysa0Tdpps — ᏢᏆՏᎻᏦᎬᏔ⁴⁵ (@Rohitian_Ro45) April 6, 2022After losing their first match of the series, RCB have won the next two matches. With four points and a Net Run Rate of +0.159, the Bengaluru squad are currently perched at the sixth spot in the IPL points table between the newly introduced Lucknow SuperGiants at fifth place and Delhi Capitals at seventh place. 3. The road to their first Indian Premier League season has not been the most joyous one for Lucknow Supergiants. First, they were trolled by Indian cricket fans for making an unnecessarily huge marketing campaign around revealing the team’s name, then they were criticised for the mundane name that was given to the franchise and now that they have officially launched their jersey (which got leaked over a couple of weeks ago), the fans are on their case like white on rice. View this post on Instagram The Supergiants had revealed their jersey for IPL 2022 earlier this week while also compositing and releasing their team anthem featuring rapper and singer Badshah but fans were already disappointed with the way it looked and the colours that were used to make it authentic. Many went on to say that the practice jersey that they had shown its teammates wearing in the nets looked far better than the official ones and that all the “technology” that went into making the jersey material did very little to nothing in terms of making it look like a uniform. View this post on Instagram However, almost all the pictures and graphics that were shared by the Supergiants’ social media platform on the day of the launch were edited or shot under studio lights. So when a day after the launch, cricketers Avesh Khan and Shahbaz Nadeem were clicked wearing their full kits in natural lights, fans’ frustration with the jersey turned into an amusement and the people started trolling them for “taking design inspiration from nightgowns”. However, when literally thousands of people are trolling and agreeing to the fact that the jersey definitely looks like a cheap night suit, even the people who designed it must give in and accept the fact that they messed up. Back when the first season of the IPL was introduced in 2008, the jersey designs were a lot simpler but even those ancient designs have a better chance of being picked up by a cricket fan as opposed to this ugly-looking kit. Seriously guys, how was this designed even authorised to go into mass production? View the full article

  9. With oily skin, comes a dozen other skin problems. Dullness, acne, blackheads and whiteheads, among other woes. Although all skin types struggle with blackheads, people blessed with oily skin have more prominent and stubborn blackheads that just add to their already existing skin woes. © iStock Whether or not you have oily skin, if you have blackheads, there are ways to get rid of them and achieve spotless and smooth skin at home. You can rely on the natural and fail-safe ingredients to whip up some DIY blackhead removal masks that are easy, effective and don’t hurt as much as those eye-watering, viral peel-off masks you have seen on your Instagram feeds. Those are no friend to your skin. © iStock Here are three homemade masks that actually do wonders for your skin, while removing blackheads without pain or effort: © iStock 1. Oatmeal & Honey Mask © iStock Oatmeal is coarse and thus, can help exfoliate your skin while removing the blackheads and whiteheads effectively. It also leaves your skin moisturised and soft. Blend oats into a powder and add some honey to it to make a thick, sticky paste. Apply this mixture to the affected areas like your T-zone and let it dry. Scrub it off after 15-20 minutes and rinse with cold water. 2. Egg White Mask © iStock Egg white helps zap oil from the skin and because it’s sticky, it works as a natural peel-off mask that’s also incredibly easy to make at home. Separate egg white and yolk and whisk the white portion until it’s frothy and white. Apply it onto your face with a facial brush and cover it with bits and pieces of tissue paper. Once completely dry, peel it off and wash your face. 3. Lemon Peel Off © iStock Lemon is an excellent ingredient for oily and acne-prone skin and if you are dealing with clogged pores, there is no better face mask than the one with lemon juice as its main ingredient to clear excess sebum, dirt and extract blackheads. Take gelatin powder and warm water in a bowl and add a few drops of lime juice to it. Mix until it’s a gooey mask. Apply it on the blackheads and let it dry before you peel it off. Wash and moisturise. View the full article
  10. One of the few things most people notice when they first meet you are your lips. Chapped and dry-looking lips can be a major turn off and can imply that you don’t really take good care of yourself. You can invest in an expensive aftershave and a couple of moisturisers, but unless your lips look soft and moisturised, you are missing out on those brownie points, buddy. © iStock Getting yourself a good lip balm that keeps your lips hydrated throughout the day is extremely important. If you are big on homemade and natural stuff, you can whip up some good natural ingredients from your kitchen and make your own DIY lip balm. © iStock Believe us, it’s super easy and would save you so much effort and money. Here are 3 natural lip balms that you can totally make at home and keep your lips looking healthy and soft at all times: 1. Honey & Vitamin E © iStock Honey is an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and a moisturising ingredient that can save your lips from infection while keeping them soft and supple. Vitamin E, on the other hand, can lighten dark lips and keep them healthy. Get a Vitamin E capsule and squeeze out the oil. Next, mix some honey and grated beeswax into it. Pour it in an empty chapstick or a small jar and use it daily. 2. Coconut Oil & Mint © iStock You must be having a jar of coconut oil sitting on a shelf somewhere in your home. Put it to good use and make a lip balm out of it. Melt some coconut oil in a bowl and add a few drops of peppermint essential oil and some petroleum jelly. Let it cool and apply whenever your lips feel dry. Coconut oil is a natural moisturiser that keeps your lips nourished and heals chapped skin. 3. Vanilla & Almond Oil © iStock Almond oil is another beneficial natural oil that helps cracked lips. You can make your own flavoured lip balm by adding some vanilla extract to it. Take some sweet almond oil into a bowl and add a few drops of vanilla extract to it. You can also add some rose water for fragrance and extra benefits. Use the mixture of parched lips to keep them healthy and soft. View the full article

  12. With Holi just around the corner, you might be tempted to get some dry and wet Holi colours from the market. © Unsplash Now, they are a cheap option, but artificial colours are very nasty. First of all, they don’t come off that easy and harm your skin a lot. They dry your skin out, mess up your hair and scalp, and can cause severe reactions if you have sensitive skin. © Unsplash Secondly, they are very harmful to the environment, especially the ones that are laced with chemicals to make some odd colours like silver. Not to mention just how wasteful wet colours can be. © Unsplash But does that mean we don’t play with colours at least with our family and very close friends (I mean, given the Covid situation, what other options do we have)? Heck no! How about we go for some better and more skin and eco-friendly options, instead? Why not make your own colours, using some cool and easy DIY methods? © Unsplash Here’s how you can DIY 6 basic colours at home using natural ingredients, all by yourself. 1. Making Violet © iStock Get some wild-growing morning glory flowers (just the petals) and some talcum powder, and blitz them in a mixer grinder. The more morning glory you put into the mix, the darker the shade will be. The best thing about this is that it comes off very easily, and is easy to clean up. 2. Making Red © iStock If you can get dry red sandalwood, there’s nothing like it. Otherwise, dry up a whole lot of hibiscus and just crush it up using a mixer grinder. In case you’re looking to make a large batch, grind it with rice flour or ground flour. The good thing about going for red is that both red sandalwood and hibiscus extract are great for the skin. 3. Making Blue © iStock There are actually a number of ways you can make blue. You can use blue hibiscus flowers, or jacaranda flowers, mixed with rice flour or ground flour. If you see blackberries and blueberries growing around you, you can use that as well, although, do keep in mind that colours extracted from berries do stain. 4. Making Green © iStock Like, blue, there are a ton of options to make the colour green. The most obvious one is, of course, using henna. Avoid the ones that come with amla as they’re meant to dye hair. Alternatively, you can use green wheat leaves, or dried Gulmohar leaves, mixed with ground flour to make the colour green. 5. Making Magenta © iStock This one will be a wet colour. Peel and slice about 250 grams of beetroot and boil it in about 5 litres of water. Once the water starts bubbling, take it off the heat, and let it cool overnight. Make as many 5 litre-batches as you would want to, but do keep in mind, this one is a bit wasteful. 5. Making Yellow © iStock Now, don’t go about throwing store-bought turmeric powder and say that it’s yellow. You can make some good dry colours using raw turmeric root and ground flour. Flowers like marigold, and amaltas, or babool pods can also be used to make the colour. Just let them dry up and then crush and mix with talcum powder or gram flour. Again, the combination of turmeric and ground flour is really great for the skin. The Bottomline... Using dry colours that are homemade using natural ingredients is the best thing that one can do for one’s skin. Using certain colours and certain ingredients not only saves your skin from the onslaught of chemical imbalances and irritations but actually prove to be beneficial for it. View the full article
