After a series of flops and mediocre successes, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri changed the course of his career with the 2017 film The Tashkent Files that turned out to be a sleeper hit. And with his latest release, The Kashmir Files, the filmmaker delivered not just the biggest blockbuster of his career but one of the biggest hits in the Hindi film industry as well. The film starring Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar has collected over Rs 230 crore at the box office, so far, and continues to perform well even in its third week. © Zee Studios Vivek, who is basking in the success of the film, recently revealed in an interview a lesser-known aspect of his life. He talked about his equation with star Varun Dhawan and went on to praise the young actor. The director opened up about the time when Varun helped him in a big way when nobody did and added that he owes a lot to the Badlapur star. Vivek told Siddharth Kannan, “I love Varun. I owe a lot to Varun. And I don’t want to speak on camera, it’s between me and him. He helped me at a time when nobody in this world was helping me, and quietly. He is a great soul. I wish he, I don’t know about stardom and all, I wish he always remains happy and very successful. He is a great boy, I love him. I am not saying this because I want to do a film with him. Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan is one superstar who has managed to stay away from major controversies around any rumoured affairs (barring the PC controversy) in his life. Day 4 of the second Test between India and England at Lord’s quickly became controversial after two of the cricketers from the hosting side were caught on camera doing something extremely dodgy which many consider to be a clear case of ball tampering. In the 35th over of India’s second innings of the match, which was being bowled by pacer Ollie Robinson, two of the English fielders could be seen kicking and stepping on the match ball with their spike shoes because picking it up and throwing it back to the bowler. The character played by Ranbir Kapoor in the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is every other guy living in the country who wants to fulfill his dreams and also wants to explore the world. Men have taken its iconic dialogue quite literally –“Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon ... bus rukna nahi chahta”. So, while we enjoyed watching the movie that made us want to go on a road trip, Bunny’s character in the film showcased many red flags that we ignored. So, here we go- Commitment Phobic Bunny’s character in the film is also commitment-phobic and he doesn’t want to tell Naina but when meets her again, he tries to treat her as his girlfriend without having the right to do so. Kept Intruding Naina’s Personal Space He kept calling Naina ‘chasmish’ and also kept intruding her personal space. He also stole her phone to check who she was talking to and that’s extremely weird and problematic. Compares Women To Food He compares women to food and other things. That’s another way of objectifying women. Remember his dialogue- “Shaadi is daal chawal for pachaas saal till you die. Arey life mein thoda bahut kheema pav, tangdi kebab, hakka noodles bhi hona chahiye na!” Typical F**kboi Traits Remember that song 'Dilli wali girlfriend'? Assumed That Kabir Proposed Her On a table full of family and friends, Kabir showed Natasha, his long-term girlfriend, a ring and she assumed that it was for her. She didn’t even wait for him to say anything and announced the news herself. That was quite a show! Crashed Fiance’s Bachelor’s Party There is only one rule at any bachelor's party and that is that your significant other shouldn’t be there. Internet Explorer is finally going to meet its demise after 25 long years because nobody really liked to use it in the first place. The company announced this week that it will end support of the browser on June 15th 2022. © Reuters Microsoft’s final nail in the coffin comes after it started to promote other products like the Edge browser and removing features from the ancient internet browser. The company gradually removed features from the explorers and even removed support from its other products like ‘Teams’. Other apps like Microsoft 365 will also no longer work with IE from this year. The Internet Explorer was once the most used web browser, however, its market share fell below 50% due to competition from Google’s Chrome and Mozilla’s Firefox. What’s surprising is that Microsoft finally acknowledged in a press release that IE is slow and no longer practical for or compatible with many modern web tasks. The company also confirmed that IE is far less secure than modern browsers. © Reddit Microsoft is already looking to the future though thanks to its latest browser that is based on Google's open-source Chrome code. The Edge browser has gained more traction in recent years than Internet Explorer did in the past few years. Microsoft usually funded IE with Windows, however, it is unclear at the moment if the company will stop bundling the browser with future Windows PCs and laptops. "We are announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge," said Sean Lyndersay, Microsoft's program manager for Edge. "Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications.” © Reuters The only reason why Microsoft has kept Internet Explorer alive for so long is that many businesses still depend on it for compatibility reasons. However, Microsoft Edge now supports an IE mode which will make it easier for corporations to make the transition. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed numerous players carving their own niche on the back of spectacular performances over the years. Their success didn't just earn them plaudits, but it also garnered high expectations from pundits and fans alike. Such has been their consistency that it's almost criminal to expect them to deliver the goods every time they take the field. Take AB de Villiers for instance. The South African has been one of the most influential stars in the tournament over the years. Whether he's in form or not, the target is competitive or impossible to achieve, the sight of ABD walking out on the field wielding the willow always gets us on the edge of our seats amid expectations of total carnage. Similarly, the thirteenth edition of the IPL, too, had cricket fans expecting the usual suspects to deliver big time. While many expected stars have surely delivered, the ongoing season has become more of a story of those unexpected match-winners who have not only aided their respective teams in crunch situations but also surprised everyone with their unmatched skills. The 31-year-old scored a brilliant 21-ball 53 and then impressed everyone with his bowling figures of 2-29 to eventually bag the 'Man of the Match' award. The left-hander's herculean batting effort of 31-ball 53, including 7 sixes, against all odds allowed Rajasthan to pull off the highest successful run-chase in IPL history and emerged as the unlikeliest of heroes this season. Since then, the Delhi allrounder has not only been impressive with both bat and ball, but he has become a key contributor in the rampant run of his team this season. In nine matches, Axar has taken eight wickets and has been explosive with the willow at the end of the innings. His power-hitting was in full display during Delhi's five-wicket win over Chennai. Shikhar Dhawan's unbeaten 101 surely played a key role in Delhi's triumph, but there is no doubt that if it wasn't for Axar's 5-ball 21, which included three sixes, the Capitals wouldn't have pulled it off. The 29-year-old smashed eight fours and three sixes in an innings that came at a strike-rate over 158. Briggs, an experienced sailor and with him were his wife, Sarah, their infant daughter Sophia and eight other members of the crew. Amazon made its way to Spencer's Island, Nova Scotia, where McLellan died on June 19, 1861. John Nutting Parker, who took the ship’s wheel after the passing of McLellan, also fell prey to a series of misfortunes. First, it collided with fishing equipment at the Eastport, Maine, USA and crashed into another brig in the English Channel. In 1867, the Amazon got completely wrecked by a storm. The damage was so much that the owners had to abandon it on the shore of Cape Breton Island. The wreckage was bought by Alexander McBean who rebuilt the ship and named it Mary Celeste. Ever since, the vessel’s ownership changed a handful of times until it made its way to Benjamin S. Briggs. Proposed Theories: According to old folklore, carnivorous seaweed was said to be responsible for crew disappearances in the 1800s. In 1872, the ship Mary Celeste was found off the coast of Portugal aimlessly floating. In 2007, Channel 4 International came up with a documentary titled The True Story of the Mary Celeste which suggested a rather unexciting theory (although inconclusive), according to which Briggs commanded everyone to abandon ship and row for the land, owing to the disastrous weather and a clogged onboard pump. There have been many stories about this incident. Numerous tabloids have tried to retell the story based on the evidence available onboard but nobody could come up with one satisfying theory. However, it was the way in which the former ECW superstar made his comeback to the sport that was unexpected. While a lot of his fans had hoped for the 'Straight-Edge' wrestler's return to wrestling with WWE, Punk decided to make it a smaller affair. To get you on pace with the story, in an MKE Wrestling event called 'The Last Knight' on Friday, a masked man interfered with one of the fights of the evening and hit one of the wrestlers with CM Punk's signature move, the 'Go To Sleep' or the GTS, kneeing him in the head. Louis Vuitton may be all about the status that wants to sell you an exclusive super expensive smartwatch, but it's for idiots that don't know what they are buying. The Horizon comes in grey, black, and brown, with more than 60 different straps, half meant for men and half meant for women which may just be the only interesting thing about the smartwatch. The watch, however, does look extremely sexy but that does not warrant the hefty price tag in our honest opinion. Luxury watches are meant to last people for years and a smartwatch that costs INR 1.6 Lakh will likely die in two or three years. The Tambour Horizon doesn't even have the option to replace the mechanical timepiece unlike the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45. If you can afford to buy a 1.6 Lakh smartwatch every two years. Then go for it and maybe adopt me too? Sorry Louis Vuitton, better luck fooling us next time.
