  1. More often than not, the busy travelling schedule of the members of the Indian cricket team does not allow the Men in Blue to stay at home during major festivals, surrounded by their loved ones, their friends and family. A couple of years ago, the captain of the Indian side, Virat Kohli, while sending his wishes for the festival of colours in 2017, he said that his Holi would be spent on the road as the roster was going to Patna for a series. Happy Holi everybody. Have a great day today ðð¼ð. Please make sure no harm is done to the animals on the streets. God Bless all. pic.twitter.com/3a3NbUib0a — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) March 13, 2017 Holi 2019, however, could not have come at a better time. There was a small gap between the tiring ODI series against the visiting and the twelfth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the festival fell on such a day that all the cricketers of the Indian squad were at home, happily celebrating the festival of 'good over evil' with their loved ones. "Happy Holi to everyone! Let's celebrate the vibrant hues, the beautiful relationships and the joyous laughter," Virat Kohli wrote in a Tweet. Shikhar Dhawan, who is currently in India preparing for the IPL, shared an emotional post on Instagram. While celebrating the festival with his mother, 'Gabbar' expressed his joy of watching his kids get in on the fun, thousands of miles away, in Australia. View this post on Instagram My festivals brighten up a little extra thanks to these colourful memories. Missing my munchkins a lot! Missing my munchkins a lot,” said the Delhi Capitals skipper. “Happy holi from our family to yours.” Mayank Agarwal, another athlete who had a great start to his international cricketing career in the first days of 2019 in his debut against the Australians on their home-turf, also shared a vibrant photo from yesterday's celebration: Here's wishing everyone a Happy Holi! 2. After eagerly waiting for the UEFA Champions League draws for the quarter-finals, we finally have the table in front of us. The Champions League quarter-finals are set ð« Happy? #UCL pic.twitter.com/NQRf7Flh0o — Goal (@goal) March 15, 2019 While the rest of the contests look pretty decent, our major focus instantly shifted to the matches between Lionel Messi's Barcelona FC and Paul Pogba's Manchester United that are destined to take place on 9th April (Leg 1) and 16th April. Keeping in mind the performances carried out by two of the most historically prestigious football clubs in the recent past it is safe to say that Messi and Co. clearly have the upper hand. Case in point, Barcelona's previous match up against Lyon which the Spanish giants easily cruised past after winning 5-1 on aggregate. With Messi coming back to form in the second leg as he scored two goals and assisted twice, things don't seem to be getting any easier for the Red Devils. On the other hand, Manchester United have proven their true worth to those who underestimated them during their duel against Mbappe's Paris Saint-Germain. We scoured the internet to check out exactly how the fans from both sides reacted to the draw and the results are hilarious: Overjoyed Barcelona Fans: Rip Man United — Messi ð (@loyalmessi) March 15, 2019 Thank you Jessssssssssssuuuuussssssðððð we're through — Saucererð (@ghermaine__) March 15, 2019 I foresee an easy gameðððð...LOL ðð — Yusuf Olatunji (@Yusuf_Olatunji2) March 15, 2019 It's coming home ðªð — Leoð (@ProudCule1) March 15, 2019 RIP IN ADVANCE MAN U — Keith (@Keith58808029) March 15, 2019 Depressed and Gloomy Manchester United Fans: Dear @ChampionsLeague, Thanks for the memories but it's time to say goodbye... — Himansh (@GunnarMindset) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/xmGFPvZKpy — Esoâ (@EsoKachikwu) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/TMr5fN8wDV — Leo Carter ð¾ðª (@LeoCarter27) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/TMr5fN8wDV — Leo Carter ð¾ðª (@LeoCarter27) March 15, 2019 My brother when I told they'd drawn Barcelona ðð pic.twitter.com/2LKqcF1fPj — William (@talibanscum) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/sItdB4e1eu — Koyin ð³ð¬ (@K0YIN) March 15, 2019
  3. Abhay Deol has been MIA for a while. However, that is what sets him apart from everyone else in Bollywood, we think. There's this inexplicably charming nonchalance about everything he does - right from not making an effort to get along with the maddening B'town crowd, to not being hesitant in the least while speaking up about important issues like the obsession with fair skin. © © Instagram/Abhaydeol He is never in the limelight but sneakily went through an amazing transformation that should most certainly bring him under it. © Instagram/Abhaydeol © Instagram/Abhaydeol He has been hitting the gym a lot, and it clearly is working wonders. 4. Oman Confined to mere 24 against the Mighty Scotland, registering the lowest ever ODI Total © Twitter/@ICC In the world of sports, we witness players and teams achieving new records, shattering the old ones. But sometimes, the same players and teams end up setting unwanted records, owing to disastrous performances. Something similar happened with Oman On Tuesday when they were bowled out for a grand total of mere 24 against Scotland in the first ODI of a three-match bilateral series between the two teams. They thus set the record for the lowest ever ODI total (scroll down for the full list of lowest-ever totals). After losing the toss, Oman were asked to bat first, after which they could just post 24 runs on the board. Out of this two dozen, 15 runs were scored by Khawar Ali, the only player to hit double digits. A total of five players, including both the openers, were bowled out for ducks. © Reuters Adrian Neill and Ruaidhri Smith proved picked four wickets each for Scotland, giving away just 14 runs in total. It was a piece of cake for the Scottish-openers, Matthew Cross and Kyle Coetzer, who wasted little time, and wrapped up the innings in 20 balls, with 10 wickets in hands. Here's how cricket fans all over the world reacted on the social media: What an absolute hammering! 5. Seeing the world through the eyes of an explorer soothes more than just our senses, it feeds our soul. There is a renewed sense of vitality that comes from seeking the world with an avid lust of a traveller, who wishes to discover new places and gather experiences that turn out to be nothing less than Aladdin's treasure. This becomes all the more poignant when people say that the world is an oyster for those who know where to look. Tryst with the travel bug is made memorable every time we witness the lush hill stations, or snow-capped mountains and pristine islands sitting in the lap of nature, that are scattered around the world. © Instagram Yet, such amazing experiences would get heightened manifold if one could witness the teeming beauty of this world in the company of someone they love and wish to share their life with. It is a life that most couples would kill for, and there is no guessing why. The possibility of discovering the captivating beauty of the earth with the person who makes your world go round, would pretty much be like living the dream life. And let us tell you that Vidit and Savi are living this exact life. They are lovers as well as travellers in love, and this is exactly how their story unfolded. For Vidit and Savi, their love for travelling and discovering the world together first began from the backseat of their school bus rides at DPS R. K. Puram. Talking about that time of their life Savi says, “we met in high school in New Delhi – we were friends for years, dated for ages, and then got married!” © Instagram Even their first date involved the outdoors, and even though it was a long time ago, Savi remembers it like it was yesterday, “we went for a long drive and coffee at a newly-opened coffee shop in the city! I'd happily do that on a date even today!” Even after having seen most of the world with Vidit, Savi is more than happy to take him up on a similar date even today - who said little things don't count? From that first date to a gazillion one-of-a-kind dates later, Savi and Vidit have come a long way. However, it was back in 2008 when the couple took the biggest leap of their lives. From travelling as a couple to scaling thousands of miles to get married and travel to a new place every month and amping that up to travelling to a new destination every few days and leaving their jobs to make it possible, Savi and Vidit's journey has been nothing short of an adventure. © Instagram The couple decided to document it all on their blog 'Bruised Passports', which today has a great following online. So, when Jaime Lynn Beatty once said that, “jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul,” we suppose nobody could live up to this saying better than the makers of 'Bruised Passports'. As of today, the couple has travelled to 90 countries around the world, with many more to go as per their itinerary. However, their journey as travellers in love began when they were teenagers. Recalling their journey as a couple, this is what Savi had to say, “we travelled a fair bit in South East Asia as teenagers when we had just started dating because Vid went to university in Singapore. That's when both of us fell in love with travelling together!” © Instagram Soon, life caught up with the young couple and “as we grew up, we moved to London and got married. At this stage of our lives, we would save our salaries to travel together each month. We spent almost 8 years in London and would try to travel to a new place every month! This is how we ended up exploring Europe, the US, and parts of Africa.” However, the thrill of exploration and discovery rubbed off on the couple and they began to seek much more of what they had already tasted of life as travellers. Savi shares more and says, “sometime along the way we fell in love with travelling and savouring new experiences. Eventually, we ended up working towards travelling full time. Experiencing remote corners and busy cities of the world together has brought us a lot closer. It's like being partners-in-crime at a whole new level.” © Instagram Yet, when we asked them of their most cherished memory, this is what they had to say, “Finnish Lapland - the feeling of lying in a transparent glass igloo and looking out at the Northern Lights is incomparable. A trip to Lapland offers so many bucket list items - riding a reindeer, sledging with husky dogs, seeing the Northern Lights, cruising through a frozen sea, swimming with icebergs - and for that reason, it is second to none!” Just reading about it is making us daydream about all the glory they might have witnessed, and that sure as hell would be one of the most romantic ways of spending a date night with our significant other, don't you agree? © Instagram But this journey that Savi and Vidit set out on over a decade ago has taught them as much about each other as individuals, as it has taught them about relationships and life at large. Vidit shares how he learns something new from Savi every single day, “I have learnt to be a fighter when it comes to achieving goals. Savi has a meticulous rhythm of working and because of that, I learn something new from her every day. She juggles so many different roles and does it all with perfection.” As for Savi, she claims that “I've learnt the art of prioritising from Vid and never settling for anything less than 100%. He strives for complete happiness, in work and life, and isn't afraid of spending hours, days, or even years to achieve something. But it has to look exactly like what he had in mind! I'm also really proud of the fact that he's passionate about gender equality and is always talking about how important it is to fight stereotypes and respect women.” © Instagram And when you ask the couple what their relationship has taught them over the years, they say, “loads. But mostly that a long term relationship isn't always about flowers and candles. It's about adventure, experiences, mind-numbing compatibility, and consciously CHOOSING to be with someone every single day. And marriage isn't about duties, being 'tied down' (the one stereotype we hate the most!) or becoming one soul!” For them, love and marriage mean nothing else than saying that, “it's actually about celebrating your individualities, being two financially independent people supporting each other's dreams, giving each other strength when all hope is lost, and most importantly having fun!” © Instagram Savi and Vidit may have travelled far and wide on the face of this earth, but they have also managed to discover themselves in the process, and grow as individuals as well as a couple by coming in touch with myriad people, places and cultures which only helped them to appreciate life and each other a lot better. Why? Because this world can be the greatest teacher, and when you know where to look, it can surprise you with some of life's most splendid experiences.
  6. 2019 is a visibly significant year for the world of television as the most famous show of the 21st century is now nearing its end. Fans are gearing up for the premiere of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8, which would also mark the grand finale season of the series. via GIPHY The fandom for the show is unmatched which makes this legend a greater one from every aspect. Other than 'Game of Thrones', many potential stories are brewing and will hit the small screen this year. Here is a look at all the HBO shows which must be on your list, maybe just to get over with the GOT hangover: 1. Big Little Lies - Season 2 Based on a story by best-selling author Liane Moriarty, the first season of 'Big Little Lies' was a prudently plotted tale of murder and yummy mummies topped with a masterly twist on soapy American Drama. The show will be back with Season 2 and unearth the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and vicious ferocity of sound parenting. via GIPHY The main characters Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste Wright (Nicole Kidman) and Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), Bonnie Carlson (Zoe Kravitz) and Renata Klein (Laura Dern), are all set to reprise their roles with Meryl Streep joining the cast as Celeste's Mother-in-Law. via GIPHY Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are back as Executive Producers with David E. Kelley tackling the script. We wait to watch if 'Big Little Lies' sequel continues to explore the dark waters without popping the soapy bubbles. 2. True Detective - Season 3 The long-anticipated third season of the police drama debuts in January 2019. The show portrays the story of Detective Wayne Hays (Mahershala Ali) who worked on the case 35 years back. Wayne and his partner Roland West (Stephen Dorff) investigate the disappearance of two kids. via GIPHY The Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali leads a stripped-down cast of characters, with similar partner dynamics to Season 1, through a Southern setting and a time hopping mystery. Directed by Nic Pizzolatto, the third season looks far more interesting and we are already expecting a good number of twists this time. 3. Watchmen Damon Lindelof (the showrunner of HBO's 'Watchmen') believes that the series will be influenced by contemporary politics and would resonate much with the film version. This plot will introduce newer characters and an almost similar storyline. Based on the comic book by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the American drama series may echo the lives of Trump or Putin. © Warner Bros The Oscar-winner Jeremy Irons portrays an older version of Adrian Veidt along with Emmy-Winner Jean Smart as FBI agent investigating the murder. Nearly a decade after the controversial film adaptation, this is one HBO show which is slated to open to an anticipated audience. 4. Euphoria 'Euphoria' is a teen drama starring actor-singer Zendaya. The series is written by Sam Levinson, with Drake and Future The Prince joining as the Executive Producers. Based on the Israeli series of the same name created by Ron Leshem, Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate through drugs, ***, social media, depression, love and identity crisis. © HBO Directed by Augustine Frizzell, the ensemble cast includes Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Eric Dane, and Algee Smith to name a few. 5. Veep - Season 7 The Primetime Emmy Award Winner for Outstanding Comedy Series, 'Veep' will premiere in Spring 2019. Though, ostensibly an American version of the 'Thick of It', creator Armando Iannucci allowed a fresher look at the machinations of politics across the pond. via GIPHY This Political satire comedy series stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus who deftly essays the role of Selena Meyer, the Vice President of the United States (or "Veep") leading her to win five consecutive Golden Globe nominations and six consecutive Emmy awards. via GIPHY Also starring Anna Chlumsky (Chief of Staff) and Gary (Tony Hale), the series went on hiatus in 2017 after Julia was diagnosed with breast cancer, the series is making a comeback with its last chapter. Relish each episode as this is the final season of the HBO Comedy. 6. Barry - Season 2 Created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader, this series seamlessly amalgamates crime drama about contract killing, hits, and mobsters with a comedy about a lonely, lost guy who accidentally ends up on stage and happens to like it. Bill Hader stars as the title character, a hitman in the Midwest who moved to Los Angeles to indulge his acting aspirations. via GIPHY However, the best part of the show is Henry Winkler essaying the role of Bill's acting teacher who won his first-ever Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in Comedy Series. via GIPHY The first season won critical acclaim and strong ratings but left an unanswered question for the viewers, what happened to Detective Moss? The second season is back to explore that cliffhanger while the assassin-turned-actor protagonist keeps trying to put his bleak past behind him. 7. Chernobyl Produced by Sister Pictures and The Mighty Mint, 'Chernobyl' is the first HBO/Sky project to be greenlit through an international partnership to build a big-scale drama. This project was adopted under a $250 million multi-year co-production investment deal. via GIPHY Directed by Johan Renck, this series retells one of the world's worst manmade catastrophes, the explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant in Ukraine in 1986. via GIPHY Stellan Skarsgard plays Boris Shcherbina, the Soviet official charged with handling the fallout, Emily Watson is a nuclear scientist who wants to unveil the reason behind the explosion and Jared Harris plays Valery Legasov, the Soviet's man on the ground after the crisis. The series will outline how people tried to deal with the immediate aftermath and how it was planned to cover up. 8. Succession - Season 2 Jesse Armstrong's comedy-drama, 'Succession' Season 1 was undoubtedly a must watch series last year. Set in New York, the dysfunctional drama follows the dynasty's disintegration and is based on the lives of international media icons like Rupert Murdoch, Robert Maxwell and William Randolph Hearst. via GIPHY Brian Cox plays family patriarch Logan Roy, a broadcast magnate. In his quest to hand over his business to his first born Kendall (played by Jeremy Strong), it turns out that his son accidentally kills a waiter. Logan agrees to take care of the situation if Kendall quits his aggressive takeover plans. The second season is slated to pick up the aftermath of the first's finale and viewers can continue to enjoy the high family's antics on HBO. 9. Catherine The Great The first look at Oscar-winner Helen Mirren's historical limited series, 'Catherine the Great,' is promising. 'Catherine the Great' commanded supreme power throughout Russia for almost half of the 18th century and her reign was laced with political upheaval. The series displays her politically tumultuous rule coupled with her sexually charged court. © HBO Her passionate affair with Grigory Potemkin (Jason Clarke) comes into the frame too. Amid scandal, intrigue and immense conflict, they develop a devoted relationship, overcoming their adversaries and together serving as the architects of modern-day Russia. The drama has been written by Nigel Williams and directed by Philip Martin whose body of work includes 'Prime Suspect' and 'The Crown'. This is the latest project in the partnership between HBO and Sky. 10. Divorce - Season 3 Sarah Jessica Parker can easily take the credit of gifting HBO '*** and the City', which has remained one of the most popular shows ever. Years later she is set to bring the fans a treat as Frances, a woman in New York with a squabbling marriage. via GIPHY HBO has given a nod to 6-episode Season 3 of 'Divorce' and Sharon Horgan renders heartfelt touch to the drama. The plot develops when France's good friend Diane (Molly Shanon) fights with her husband Nick (Tracy Letts) at her 50th birthday party making Frances realize that she cannot allow her own marriage to turn this horrific. via GIPHY Both Horgan and Parker are intent on exploring the pain of a failed marriage. 'Divorce' is painfully accurate with the profound message that hope must be omnipresent, at least on the telly.
  7. We find love in the strangest of places. All while a seemingly unthreatening person manages to disarm us with that one look or smile casually thrown our way, which leaves our heart craving for more, so much more! The arena of online dating happens to be one such space where most of us venture into without any set expectations of what might come our way. That is mostly because this entire scene of online dating bears an air of mystery and suspense around it - a sort of a thrill that has succeeded in luring even a few “hermits” around us. You never know who you will meet in this virtual world, and even if you think you like the person you behold on the screen going by their bio, likes-dislikes and hobbies et al., you cannot be too sure unless you meet them up close and see for yourself if the two of you are worth another shot. Souvik Thakur Sure, this might be true in 99% of the cases, though there still exist a few who get so lucky with their online dates, that they end up signing the deal of spending an entire lifetime with one another. Such is the story of Souvik and Upasana, who met each other on an online dating website, and so fiery was their chemistry from the very onset, that the couple ended up marrying each other within a year of their first official date! It all began in late 2017, or more specifically 22nd October 2017 as Upasana would point out when the two first found out about each other on an online dating platform. Souvik is quick to add that, “it was her smile that caught my attention,” and he didn't waste any time in getting in touch with Upasana after that. “It was love at first sight (for me), even though we were living in two different cities then. I was in Delhi, while she was in Kolkata,” adds Souvik. Remembering that fateful night, Upasana recalls, “I remember that Sunday. I had a night recess and after I woke up, I saw a notification of his request. After reading his message, I shared my phone number. Within a second he called me, and we started talking. He spoke for an hour and by the end of it, he proposed me for marriage.” Souvik Thakur We know, that almost sounds like a Japanese bullet train of dating on the move. But you know what, in the matters of the heart, when you know, you know. Whether it is a matter of knowing someone for an hour, a year or even ten years for that matter, you simply know it when you find 'the one'. However, we wonder, if their first virtual meeting was so zippy, imagine all the fire alarms that must have gone off when the two met each other for the first time, for real! You guessed it, for both Souvik and Upasana, their first date remains one of the greatest highlights of their relationship so far. It was 25th December 2017 when they finally met in person after constantly being in touch for a little over two months. While Souvik recalls the day for their exploration of the City of Joy, eating and shopping their hearts out and making memories together, it was much more special for Upasana. Souvik Thakur “It was 25th December and he had come down from Delhi to meet me. Naturally, it was special for me. We met at Esplanade, the heart of Kolkata. Then we went to Princep Ghat. After spending some quality time on the bank of river Ganges, we went to taste Biryani from Kolkata's famous Biryani shop. Then he surprised me by gifting me a yellow-green from a famous boutique,” shares Upasana. The saree, as Souvik tells us, was a gift to celebrate their first date. And they say men are not romantic and thoughtful enough. Anyhow, that's definitely one memorable first date the two had, won't you agree? However, from the numerous memories the two share between them, for Souvik one of the most unforgettable ones is when the two spent some quiet time alone in each other's company on the terrace at his place - “(the) terrace is a very special place for me. I love to read, write, sing on the terrace. Finally, I took her to my special place in the house,” recalls Souvik. Our man here had finally found the woman to share his special place with, and we all know that's a big commitment all by itself, even though many women don't know it at the moment. But since things were already moving in the fifth gear for the couple since the beginning, the real deal was never too far behind. Souvik Thakur Soon after their first meeting, Souvik couldn't wait to take the next big step. He had all the plans laid out. But like it is usually in the case of love, things don't come easy. Sure enough, Souvik had a hurdle to move past before he could claim his lady love, and make her his for the next 'seven lifetimes'. Since Souvik was living in Delhi for work, it meant that for Upasana getting married would be a lot more than just tying the knot. So when Souvik popped the question, Upasana couldn't accept the proposal instantly, even when she wanted to. “I would have said yes, but couldn't. Since he lived in Delhi for the sake of his job, and I didn't want to relocate from my hometown Kolkata, I clearly told him so. He was very disheartened, but tried to convince me to make the move. After 15 days, he succeeded. I agreed to move to Delhi.” Once this was taken care of, things picked up speed and their families got involved. The date for the wedding was set and finally, on 2nd December 2018, the couple got hitched. Even though most things happened in a blur in their relationship, married life has come with its own share of lessons and experiences for the couple. Souvik Thakur According to Upasana, their journey from bachelorhood to being married has changed their perspective about relationship and love. As a married couple, they are becoming more and more responsible with every passing day. Even Souvik agrees that the relationship has taught him to choose his battles wisely, adjust and compromise where necessary and take important decisions keeping each other in mind. However, with all things said and done, the newlyweds believe that their relationship has taught them to love selflessly and accept each other's quirks. “We are two very much different people. She is loud and expressive, whereas I am soft and calm. But we love to eat, travel & listen to music together. These are the binding factors of our relationship and our lives”, says Souvik. Souvik Thakur For Upasana, however, the most unique quality of her husband is that “he is a very good human being, funny and he is very passionate towards his work.” The couple may be completely opposite in nature and personality type, but these traits help to balance their relationship and add depth to it. Married for just two months today, the journey so far has been a revelation for the couple in a lot of ways. Not only are they getting to know each other more deeply, but they are also evolving as individuals as they take on this journey called life together.
  8. Apple is known for releasing iOS updates like clockwork every year and the company is gearing up to unveil the new operating system later this year. Each year at WWDC, Apple announces a new and improved OS for the iPhone, iPad followed by a Beta testing period before its eventual launch. Apple keeps new operating system features a big secret however there are already rumours about the upcoming operating system. iOS is probably the most used operating system in the world and a new report by Bloomberg points towards some key changes that help the large install base in using the operating system. Some of these features have been long awaited by fans that will finally see the light of day if these rumours come true. Dark Mode © Twitter It's probably the most requested feature by Apple fans and it seems like the feature will finally come to iPhones and iPads. The rumoured dark mode will work similar to what we have already seen on macOS with darker accents and dark backgrounds. The feature will make looking at the screen for long periods of time less tiring. It will also be less disruptive to a user's natural sleep cycle. The dark mode will also help in improving battery life as iPhones now use OLED screens. Darker colours and themes tend to use less battery on a smartphone which will significantly increase the iPhone's battery life. Better iPad Features © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla iPad users will also get new features with the iOS 12 update as it will incorporate a new home screen and have the ability to tab through multiple versions of a single app. For example, if you have Safari open with many tabs, you will be able to browse pages with more ease. iOS 13 is also said to bring a better file management system, something the iPad needs to make it a proper replacement of a daily laptop. The new iPad Pro is already more powerful than many Windows laptops and a new file management system can change the game entirely. Improved CarPlay Functionality © Apple iOS 13 is also said to bring “improvements to CarPlay” according to the Bloomberg feature. CarPlay was already due for an update and a better interface with iOS 12 however it was pushed back by a year. As of now, there is no word on what the improvements might be however it seems like Apple will add more extensive developer tools making it more accessible for third-party apps. Source: Bloomberg
  9. Chelsea forward, Alvaro Morata's move to Atletico Madrid has opened up a can of worms for fans in the Spanish capital. He has come through the ranks from the Real Madrid Youth Academy and a transfer to age-old city rivals is honestly not a heartwarming update for Madridistas. For most of you who must have forgotten, Morata's first team as a professional player was Real Madrid. Yes, he did play in Atletico's youth program but then joined Real's academy in 2008, eventually playing in their first team. The Madrid derby is slated for February 9 and we won't blame the fans if there are loud boos every time Morata touches the ball. So, how does he deal with this situation, you ask. For starters, he can seek some inspiration from these other superstars who joined rival clubs and went on to definitely. 1. Robin Van-Persie (Arsenal to Manchester United) © Reuters RvP became one of the deadliest strikers in the Premier League in his last couple of years at Arsenal. Credit goes to none other than Arsene Wenger, who developed the Dutchman into a leader after Thierry Henry's departure. With time Van Persie matured into a complete striker and was also handed over the captain's armband after the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. But in 2012, when trophies didn't come by at the Emirates, the Dutchman refused to sign a contract extension. Just then, Manchester United's then manager, Sir Alex Ferguson lured him to sign for Manchester United with the promise of trophies. Van Persie joined Manchester United for £24 million in 2012 after bagging back to back golden boots. He would be influential in guiding the Red Devils to the Premier League title by scoring 26 goals in the process. Though he had infuriated the Arsenal fans, van Persie did not care as he had finally won the league in his first season at his new club and even received a guard of honour from his former colleagues. 2. Luis Figo (Barcelona To Real Madrid) © Reuters After Florentino Perez became the club president of Real Madrid in 2000, he launched the famed Galacticos era at Santiago Bernabeu by signing at least one star player every summer. Luis Figo, who was one of the best players in the world, was signed from sworn enemies Barcelona for a world record transfer fee. Figo had spent five years with the Catalans and was revered by their fans. However, it was an under the table move as it took place without any player at the club really knowing about it. It broke Catalan hearts when the Portuguese decided to join the arch-rivals in such a controversial manner. 3. Carlos Tevez (Manchester United to Manchester City) © Reuters As per reports, Carlos Tevez didn't really want to leave Manchester United. Carlos Tevez was adored by Manchester United fans after proving instrumental in the club's Champions League-winning 2007-08 campaign during a two-year loan spell. But with time, the relationship between Tevez and Alex Ferguson started to crumble when the 34-year-old made some jarring remarks regarding his future in an interview with a UK newspaper. Eventually, Tevez signed for Manchester City and immediately took a dig at Fergie, claiming that the Scot didn't want him at Old Trafford. Responding to which, Ferguson said that Tevez wasn't worth the money City paid for him (around £25.5m, if his advisors are to be believed). But proving Fergie wrong, the Argentine scored 52 goals in his first two seasons at the Etihad. 4. Luis Enrique (Real Madrid To Barcelona) © Reuters Luis Enrique played almost half of his career at Real Madrid. The former Barcelona manager had spent eight years in the whites of Real Madrid. Despite that, Enrique could never become an integral part of the Los Blancos side, scoring only 18 goals in 213 matches for them. When he made his move to Barca in 1996, he did so for a free transfer. The midfielder, who was praised for his versatility, would go on to become a regular for Barcelona and was eventually given the captain's armband. Compared to Real, the Spaniard scored 109 goals in 300 matches and also won two La Liga trophies for their El Classico rivals. 5. Sol Campbell (Tottenham to Arsenal) © Reuters After coming through Tottenham's youth ranks, Sol Campbell made his debut for Spurs at the tender age of 18. He became a mainstay at the Tottenham centre-back position for years to come and captained them to a League Cup victory in 1999. But little did they know that the Tottenham star was about to join their fiercest enemies, Arsenal. Despite saying that he would never play for Arsenal in the past, he went on to join the club and is till date named as 'Judas' by the Spurs fans for betraying their club.
  10. Everyone loves Stranger Things and Black Mirror, but you'd be doing your inner geek a great disservice by ignoring the oh-so-many more fantastic sci-fi shows out there. Which is why we've come up with a list of series that should make you as happy as a mad scientist who's cracked the secret of time travel: 1. 12 Monkeys Move over Hollywood, TV's doing it better. That's the lesson you draw from '12 Monkeys'. Sure, the 1995 movie (directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt) was a fun watch, but this show really takes time travel adventure to the next level. via GIPHY An incredibly detailed plotline, a lot of old-fashioned action, characters you grow fond of, and even dollops of zany humour (We bet Emily Hampshire's Jennifer Goines will become one of your fav characters in just a few episodes) make '12 Monkeys' one of our fave shows. 2. Altered Carbon It's the 24th century and technology has evolved to the point we can now store human consciousness in a small disk, making us pretty much immortal. But that doesn't mean humans will stop being human - yup, people still get murdered. How do you deal with that? via GIPHY Well, if you're rich beyond imagination, you wake up in your new body, and then you hire a former rebel to track down your killer on the gritty streets of future LA. Sounds a bit like 'Blade Runner'? The debt it owes to that seminal flick is obvious. But that doesn't make it any less deserving of praise - it's a great blend of cyberpunk futurism and old-school film noir. 3. The Expanse You know a TV show's got something going for it when Jeff Bezos announces Prime Video will be picking it up. That's what happened when 'The Expanse' was cancelled. Fans screamed out in anguish, but Bezos swooped in to the rescue. And no, he wasn't playing the indulgent billionaire - if anyone knows what's a good deal, it's the chap who owns freakin' Amazon. via GIPHY 'The Expanse's' astonishingly accurate science will make physics nuts swoon, the space scenes are jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and the intrigue and tension can make an Oscar-winning drama look tame. Utterly brilliant storytelling and filmmaking, that's what 'The Expanse' is. 4. Travelers In the future, the planet is dying, and humanity's not really having a great time. But our descendants have figured out the secret of time travel. No, they don't use their newfound tech to go make a killing on the stock market. Instead, they do the wise thing and send in teams of 'Travelers' back to our present. via GIPHY Travelers who hide amongst us by only occupying the bodies of people when they're about to die - they're from the future, after all, so they know that stuff (duh). And what's their task? To subtly nudge humanity away from a path to self-destruction. But all's not what it seems - there are factions trying to stop this, and even fellow Travelers with an axe to grind. 5. Westworld Science Fiction meets cowboys in this highly addictive HBO show. Set in the future, 'Westworld' is the tale of an amusement park where the rich can go live out their fantasies of being back in the Wild West. via GIPHY But things take a darker turn when the androids that work there begin to show signs of sentience. It's smart, it's fun, and it's got enough emotional depth for even those who don't like most sci-fi shows. We can't recommend this enough! 6. Misfits From 'ol Blighty comes this new-age tale of superheroes. A bunch of teenage delinquents, stuck doing community service for various anti-social deeds (teenagers, we tell ya!) find themselves granted mysterious and hard-to-control superpowers. via GIPHY But these aren't one-dimensional superheroes of yore - they're just kids stuck in a strange situation and they need to save themselves before anything else. 7. The Man in the High Castle Based on a book by the legendary Philip K Dick (Blade Runner, anyone?), 'The Man in the High Castle' is a riveting romp through an alternate world - one where the Axis powers won World War II. It's set in the sixties, but one without hippies, the Rolling Stones, or the Mustang. via GIPHY Instead, the United States has been divvied up between the Germans and Japanese, and to say they rule with an iron fist would be an understatement. But there's hope: A band of rebels is fighting against the occupying forces as well as they can (and not faring too well), and there are signs reality may not be as fixed and predetermined as we all fear. 8. Firefly Older readers amongst us will be intimately familiar with this rollicking space western. To the younger reader, we can only describe it as 'Star Wars' for the TV era. via GIPHY Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' only lasted one season, and that was a decade-and-a-half ago, but it's just so much fun, you need to go watch it. And when the credits of the final episode start rolling, take a second before you start cursing the exec who cancelled 'Firefly', and thank your stars that Whedon also made a movie ('Serenity') that acts like a sequel (or second season).
  11. Smartphones having an in-screen fingerprint scanner or fingerprint-on-display technology (FoD) is not a distant idea anymore. It's already made its way on smartphones like the OnePlus 6T, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Vivo Nex and a bunch of other smartphones. Rumours suggest that even the next Samsung flagship smartphone the Galaxy S10 is expected to use the same technology. However, the one drawback everyone faces is the accuracy of this technology. Having said that, it's just the beginning of this technology that will get more advancements, or have we already? © Weibo Xiaomi's upcoming smartphone might be equipped with an in-display sensor that is not only accurate but is faster than what we've already seen until now. Current in-display fingerprint sensors are not only less accurate but are also slower. It requires the user to place the finger on a specified location for a few seconds. Even while enrolling a new fingerprint, it requires multiple annoying presses in order for it to work. However, it seems like Xiaomi has a solution to this conundrum as the company's co-founder and president Lin Bin showed off the new FoD technology in a Weibo post. In the video, we can see that enrolling a new fingerprint takes second on a single tap. The other thing we noticed was that the area where you can place your finger to unlock the phone is comparably bigger; in fact, it takes up half the screen. The sensor used in this prototype phone is said to be 50.2 mm x 25mm in size. Not only is this probably the fastest form of FoD technology, but it's also probably the most accurate as well. It seems like this technology is in development and it would be exciting to see a real commercial phone utilising the new FoD sensor by Xiaomi. Nevertheless, we are excited to see if other companies will have a similar solution anytime soon.
  12. Take any discipline in the world and you'll have a lot of opinions and ideas about it. Different people have different ideas when it comes to different topics. Two disciplines in particular, nutrition and training are such that each and every individual in this world have different and conflicting views about them. In fact, it is so bad that every other individual's opinion is taken as fact, and science and facts are often discarded as boring. Let's face it, we have all grown up hearing a variety of fitness and nutrition “advice” from different sources in our lives, mostly gym bros and people who actually have no knowledge about either fitness or nutrition; and most of those tips are inaccurate. So, to clear some misconceptions, I have put together a list of tips we need to unlearn starting off in 2019. 1) You Have To Be A Gym Rat © Thinkstock No, you don't have to go to the gym 6 days a week, 2 hours a day to build a good looking physique. 3-4 days a week with adequate volume and frequency for each muscle group is good enough to build a drool-worthy physique. What builds muscle is progressive overload aka lifting more than what you used to, which in turn means getting stronger in the gym. You can work out 3-4-5-6 and get stronger with time. The amount of time or the number of days a week you spend in the gym is irrelevant if you cannot induce progressive overload. 2) Clean Eating To Lose Fat © Pixabay No, what dictates fat gain or loss is calories. When you are trying to lose body fat, how much you eat always supersedes what you eat. Having said that you should have a balanced diet comprising 80% of whole natural food sources and the rest of the 20% calories can come from foods that you like to relish like junk or fried food, ice cream etc, given that you are within your caloric limit and your macros in place. 3) Carbs Are Bad © Pixabay No, carbs are not only not bad, they are good and are necessary, especially if you are interested in athletic performance aka getting fit. Carbohydrates, being the primary and preferred source of energy for your body, help you train more explosively as compared to fat. Complex carbs such as beans and legumes are very good sources of protein and fiber especially for vegetarians. Coming to the myth about gaining weight from carbs, you gain weight if you eat in a caloric surplus, that is, eating more food than what your body needs to maintain its weight, not because of a macronutrient. 4) Food Timings What makes you store fat is eating more food than what your body needs to maintain its weight. In other words, eating in a caloric surplus. Each and everything you eat has calories in it (except water). Calories are the measuring unit for energy provided by the food you eat. Now, the amount of energy provided by any food is not going to change if you eat that food at a certain time. A calorie is a calorie and it will give you the same amount of energy no matter when you eat it and the only time you get fat is the when you intake more energy(food) than you need to sustain your day to day exercise and activities. 5) Muscle Confusion © YouTube Your muscles are not that stupid that they will get confused so easily, your gym trainer on the other hand, most certainly is. Moreover, the muscle confusion does not build muscle, progress overload aka getting stronger in the gym does. No matter how many variations you keep changing week in week out in the hopes of confusing your muscles to build more muscle, it won't make any difference. It can detrimental though as this practice does let you let practice a particular lift for a long time which in turn will be detrimental when it comes to gaining strength i.e. getting stronger which is what you need to lift more weight to build more muscle. Remember, strength is a skill which you acquire by practicing which you won't achieve by changing your exercise variations every 4-6 weeks. 13. 2018 has been a year that has been special in more ways than we can count. Section 377 was struck down, and a much-awaited social change took place in the nation that was long overdue. It was reflected in the fashion canvas as well, throughout all the fashion weeks that took place during the year. Inclusivity was one of the main themes, when it comes to overall fashion sensibility. With that being the backdrop, we have listed out 6 fashion moments from the year during which men embraced gender non-conforming fashion, and rocked it like it's no one's business. Take a look. 1. Prateik Babbar donned a super edgy, avant garde outfit for the label Chola by Sohaya Misra for the Lakme Fashion Week, and set the ramp ablaze. Ranveer wore this kickass Angrakha for his Mehendi, that set the internet on fire. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Deepika Padukone (@deepikapadukone) on Nov 20, 2018 at 2:33am PST 6. 14. We adore Anand S. Ahuja's style. The Delhi boy, now married to Sonam K. Ahuja hasn't let the glamour affect his sense of style. A true sneakerhead, comfort obviously is his first priority. But that, obviously, doesn't mean that he would stray away from keeping it suave. After all, marrying Sonam means keeping up with her style and that's not a very easy task. But boy, Anand never fails to keep up. Here are a few ways he curates his everyday looks that seem like hard work but at second glance, aren't very hard to cop. 1. Mr Ahuja knows his style game very well. White sneakers, groovy patterns and a well-fitted blazer, who knew this would make for a charming look? Look for blazers that hug your body perfectly without looking too tight. Experiment with funky patterns in t-shirts that would make your layer underneath the blazer. You could even try cool graphics. Pro tip: match a colour from the pattern of your t-shirt with the colour of the blazer. This will make your outfit look well put together. View this post on Instagram A post shared by anand s ahuja (@anandahuja) on Sep 23, 2018 at 1:13pm PDT 2. Sonam's style choices are fabulous. However, Anand is giving her some serious competition with a well-tailored suit that not only fits his frame flawlessly but complements Sonam's look. Now, that makes for a power couple look. © Instagram Accessorizing a suit makes all the difference. Add a nice tie and a pocket square, finish up by wearing a watch that works well with the suit. 3. A perfect example of how layering works really well for guys too. Blues and whites work well together: a breezy Summer outfit you don't want to miss for the next summer. Remember: Layering in Summer does not have to be tedious and tiresome. If you choose your fabrics right, you won't feel hot even with the added layers. Pro tip: Go for light cotton fabrics in cooler shades like white and pastels that don't let you feel hot and sweaty. Use a shirt to finish your outfit and voila! A finished look without doing too much. View this post on Instagram A post shared by anand s ahuja (@anandahuja) on Jul 30, 2018 at 3:25am PDT 4. Choice of footwear always matters. You can't step out in sliders if you're wearing a jacket or a blazer. An important detail that men tend to forget. Loafers don't work either. Choose comfortable sneakers that work well with chinos for a look like Anand's. Aside from Anand's sense of style, his brand Bhaane also has really cool pieces. Exhibit A: Look at him casually looking so fetching with a cool white t-shirt, a beige jacket and sneakers. Obviously. View this post on Instagram A post shared by anand s ahuja (@anandahuja) on May 26, 2018 at 6:59pm PDT 5. Jerseys are a great way to express your love for a team in a loud way. If that's your jam, you should also know that it can easily go wrong. For all the jersey lovers out there, here's a super cute way of pulling off a jersey without looking drab. Remember, you can't wear a jersey with formals, bad idea. So that rules out formal shoes and pants. Keep it casual and real with fitted track pants and shoes that stand out, and your look is made for the day. 15. 2018 is on the verge of ending and if we look back, we can find some good and some bad memories collected in some corner of our mind. From breakups to getting a new job, from being single to getting hitched, from being sad to having the greatest day of our lives, there was something for everyone. via GIPHY Good or bad, the end of this year and the starting of the next should be celebrated no matter what. And when it comes to the New Year welcoming celebrations, the first place that pops in our mind is Goa. There's something about this place that makes people go wild! Sadly though, Goa has become a cliché. via GIPHY You can find every Tom-Dick-Harry making plans to go crazy and celebrate New Year's Eve in Goa. Consequently, the place has become too crowded. You won't be able to find a decent place to party where the crowd is limited and decent. To put it bluntly, Goa feels like Kumbh Mela on New Year's Eve. via GIPHY To solve your problem, here are five places which would kind of give you the feel of Goa but would be relatively less crowded: 1. Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram Situated in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Varkala has one of the most beautiful beaches of India. It is clean, the water is blue, and not many tourists know about it, so it is less crowded. © GoIbibo This is the place for you if you want to get out of the hustle bustle of the city and just unwind. Plus, there are cliffs adjacent to beaches and a climb to the top would give you a mesmerising view! 2. Gokarna, Karnataka You can call this the mini Goa. Gokarna is around 190 km from Goa (to the South) and easily accessible by train or by road. If you need a quiet beach where you can enjoy with your friends, then this is the place for you. © Reddit It's a perfect destination for a solo-trip as well. It has quite a few beaches, so you would have options to set a bonfire and welcome the New Year. 3. Pondicherry As the French said, it's the paradise of India and it's probably what made the French East India Company set its headquarters here in 1674. Pondicherry is rife with beautiful French architecture and beaches that you would just love. © GoIbibo The food is amazing, beer is cheap, and the view is mesmerising. Pondicherry offers both, nature and feel of the city. It's the perfect place for people who are suffering from 'wanderlust.' 4. Tarkarli, Maharashtra This is the place for you if you want to party on 31st night and do water sports on 1st morning. Tarkarli has everything that Goa has, minus the crowd. You can drink chilled beer at shacks, watch the sunset on clean beaches, and can go for scuba diving or parasailing. © Wikipedia The place is a perfect weekend getaway when you're in the mood for some adventure. Just make sure you have some company, as it doesn't offer much to solo travellers. 5. Diu If you already don't know, then let me tell you. You can either plan for Daman or for Diu in a single trip. Because they're around 650 km apart. Of the two, Diu is a much better option. © Pinterest The beaches of Diu are comparatively cleaner and the city has more sightseeing to offer. There are the Nadia caves, churches, forts, and temples. And of course, beaches and cheap beer. You can spend your 31st December by exploring the city during the day and enjoying at the beach during the night. The place worth a visit at least once. So, which place will you be heading to?
  16. Every year, at least one Bollywood movie is released where an actor gets into tremendous shape for the role and people collectively lose their minds. There are multiple videos and posts that get made debating whether the actor got ripped while on steroids, what was his diet, what was his training, and so on. The debate goes on and then everyone forgets about it at some point. And then another movie comes in and the cycle continues. One interesting thing that happens is that multiple news and media outlets interview these actors and ask them for fitness tips for youngsters and other people to follow. This act of putting the actors on a pedestal and asking for fitness tips is outright ridiculous. Here are 5 reasons why they are not the right people to give out fitness information: 1. They Are Not Nutritionists Or Personal Trainers © YouTube It is not their job to know about these things. It is like asking an aeroplane passenger if they know how to operate a flight, as they have flown in an aeroplane. It is outright stupid. 2. They Do It In A Time Frame That Would Be Harmful To Others © YouTube Actors these days end up doing three to four movies a year. Gone are the days when they would just have a single blockbuster movie and reap the benefits of it for a year. The industry is flooded with talent and to stay relevant, they need to be in front of the audiences more. For the same, they need to transition between roles and their physique changes drastically. It is unhealthy and downright insanity for a normal 9-to-5 working guy to try to replicate that. 3. It Is Their Only Job If you have seen this interview of Aamir Khan regarding his transformation for 'Dangal', you know this is not possible with your day job. He would go on a trek for 3-3.5 hours daily, eat low-calorie foods, go to the gym, swim, do cycling or play tennis and then again go for a walk. That is 8-9 hours of daily exercise to shed weight fast. Why do they do that? They get paid to do that. Can you do it? I do not think so. Image 2 4. Their Theories Are Outdated There are multiple scientific studies that have proven time and again that it is the total amount of calories that you eat vs. expenditure that makes you gain weight or lose weight. Things like eating carbs after 6 pm do not really matter or do not go beyond the laws of thermodynamics. There are studies that have also shown that sugar is not linked to cancer and saying so is trying to simplify a very complex problem that is beyond the understanding of a layman. Still, these Bollywood actors think that their knowledge is superior to scientists who dedicate all their lives to studying and do these researches. Here are some absolute gems: "Sugar is poison"- Milind Soman "Do not eat carbs at night" - Varun Dhawan "Do not eat after 6:30 pm"- Akshay Kumar 5. They Do Steroids If you actually thought they all are natural, you must be living in a deluded world and I am happy to burst that bubble for you. Just watch this video where Ranbir Kapoor says that they take Clenbuterol (a banned drug) to have a body transformation and being shunned by Shahid Kapoor. Doing drugs to build a body (Ranbir Kapoor and Sushant Singh) – If you still want to put these guys on a pedestal and follow what they say, go ahead, even though I have just presented a strong case on why you should absolutely NOT. 17. Karan Johar - better known as KJo in the Hindi film industry, is a director, producer, talk show host and author, besides many other diverse roles he can pull off in one lifetime alone. Known as the director-godfather for all the star kids in B-town, KJo's movies epitomise melodrama, dhinchak music and grooves, with a touch of sentimentality that can be rather overbearing, if left unchecked. Yet, regardless of the man's skewed sense of humour and an ever-charming sense of fashion that's right out there and vibrant, Karan Johar does a mighty fine job at being his unapologetic self when it comes to wearing his heart on his sleeves and tossing his opinions around like confetti. We picked out 5 such pearls of wisdom that KJo has shared with us over the time, and you have to believe us when we say that no matter what you would like to believe otherwise, these statements, which range across the hard realities of love, life and other better things in life, will leave you agreeing with this man like never before. © MensXP We cannot have enough people telling us this, given the advent of a full-fledged “online” life that people have come to build and aspire for constantly. But even otherwise, that's something all of us can go back to remembering from time to time, instead of beating ourselves up over little things. © MensXP This is more than true, for all of us. You would be lying to yourself if you say it's otherwise. Happiness is transient, we all know it, and yet when we have it we often forget to appreciate and enjoy the moment for longer than we do. © MensXP As much as the reality might be difficult to digest, trust Karan to give it to you as it is. The world has learnt to hate and judge first, before accepting and celebrating the love that's so innate to mankind. © MensXP Well, how many of us are going to challenge this? Not many we suppose. Because this is so true, that no challenges could ever stand in its way. © MensXP Well, you have it. There isn't much we'd want to add to this piece of gem right here.
  18. Yesterday, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India and releasing the device so soon wasn't really expected. If we consider Xiaomi's launch pattern for the Note series so far, the Note 4 was launched in Q1 2017 followed by the Note 5 in Q1 2018. We were expecting the Note 5 Pro's successor to come early next year. Instead of launching one phone per year, it has decided to go with two phones per year in the same series. This is in line with industry trends like OnePlus releasing two every year. In the midrange segment, this makes even more sense because the competitors are constantly launching new phones with better offerings. © Xiaomi Earlier, the difference between the incumbent and the successor used to be major. We'd see specs bump, software upgrades, as well as design changes. Now with the new launch flow, we see the phones have minor upgrades. So, what's new in the Redmi Note 6 Pro? 1. The design remains the same on the back, but you'll see a notched display on the front. The display is now slightly bigger at 6.26-inches instead of 6-inch. Due to the notch, the aspect ratio has been changed from 18:9 to 19:9. The slightly larger display area means the screen-to-body ratio too has been bumped to 81 percent. 2. The phone ships out of the box with MIUI 10 and brings in gesture support, picture-in-picture mode, new recent menu, Android Pie like volume slider, and AI performance enhancements. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is already receiving the update OTA (over the air). © Xiaomi 3. The Redmi Note 6 Pro has a slightly better dual camera setup on the rear consisting of a 20-megapixel primary shooter with f/1.9 and a 5-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.2. The front too now has a dual camera setup with a 20+2-megapixel combo. 4. The rear camera comes with dual pixel phase detection autofocus, AI scene detection, studio lighting, adjustable bokeh, and improved portrait mode. Using AI, not only can the phone add a bokeh effect but also completely change the background into 6 presets. After a preset is applied, you can also further change the type of lighting overlay. This opens up the option of having much more customization and using the same depth sensor, newer edits can be applied. One neat feature on the #RedmiNote6Pro, you can remove unwanted things from the background. pic.twitter.com/mBhhj3iCMq — Akshay Bhalla (@Bhallanator) November 22, 2018 5. The processor remains the same at Snapdragon 636, which powered the Redmi Note 5 Pro as well. Everyone expected the phone to get a processor bump, but is it really needed? The chipset is powerful enough to fuel a midrange phone and it becomes easier for Xiaomi to roll-out updates. The base hardware configuration of the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Note 6 Pro remains the same, and both can receive timely updates. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Now, obviously, if a company is launching a "new" product, we naturally expect it to boast new features. And, the Redmi Note 6 Pro does bring quite a few. Xiaomi hasn't removed any of its features from the Note 5 Pro, and has just added new ones on the top. The notch's existence has always been controversial and it depends on one's choice. The deal is even sweeter when we consider the launch price. The base variant with 4GB+64GB configuration starts at Rs 13,999 and the second option with 6GB+64G configuration costs Rs 15,999.
  19. Sixteen years ago, a 19-year-old girl broke into the Indian women's Test side and a few months after her debut in the longest format she gave everyone a glimpse of her capabilities with a staggering knock of 214 runs against England in Taunton. A lot of time has passed by since then, but the legend of Mithali Raj continues to grow in international cricket. Ever since making her international debut in 1999, Mithali has established herself as India's most dependable batswoman, scoring runs in crunch situations and shattering one record after another. She is the highest run-getter in women's international cricket and the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000-run mark in women's ODIs. As she turns 36 next month, Mithali now boasts of numerous records in international cricket. And, even if her role (other than aiding India with the willow and her leadership skills) has now transcended into grooming young and upcoming members of her team, there is just no stopping this workhorse. © Twitter/@ICC One of the most diligent servants of Indian cricket, Mithali has played a pivotal role in the rise of the women's game in a country that has, for long, obsessed over their male counterparts. From shutting down sexist reporters to disapproving comparisons between male and female cricketers, the Indian captain (in Tests & ODIs) has helped her teammates in carving their own niche in a sport dominated by men. The right-hander would have surely cherished every milestone she has attained in her illustrious career so far, but her latest feat is undoubtedly the one that is going to remain close to her heart and stay for long in the memories of Indian cricket fans. For those who thought that women's game lacked adequate level of competition owing to the limited agility of female cricketers, Mithali's recent milestone seems to be an apt reminder of what they are capable of. Plying her trade in the ongoing ICC World T20, Mithali didn't get an opportunity to bat amid Harmanpreet Kaur's spectacle with the willow. But the right-hander came into her own, smashing a brilliant fifty in the next game against Pakistan. India's clash against Ireland, once again, saw Mithali rising to the occasion with another fifty to her name. While her 51-run knock helped India beat the Laura Delany-led team and secure their semifinals berth, it also allowed the seasoned campaigner to notch up arguably one of the most influential milestones of her career. Mithali, now, boasts of 2,283 runs in the shortest format for India, leaving behind the likes of country's more popular cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the coveted list. While Mithali scored those many runs in 80 T20I innings, Rohit, currently placed second in that list, could only manage 2,207 in as many innings. Virat, who is currently India's third-highest run-scorer in the shorter version, has amassed 2,102 runs in 58 innings. The fourth spot has been occupied by Harmanpreet who has 1,827 runs to her name in 91 T20I innings. India's record run-scorer in T20Is, @M_Raj03, was on top form again with a half-century to help her side into the @WorldT20 semi-finals! Watch the highlights of her innings, delivered by @oppo #FlashCharge! â¡ï¸#WT20 #WatchThis pic.twitter.com/A4Tkj9BPJR — ICC (@ICC) November 16, 2018 Mithali's fifty against Ireland also saw her going past New Zealand's Martin Guptill who is the highest run-getter in T20I in the men's game. When it comes to top-scorers in T20Is overall, Mithali is only behind Suzie Bates (2,961), Stafanie Taylor (2,691) and Charlotte Edwards (2,605). © Twitter/@WorldT20 The same innings allowed the veteran Indian star to notch up 17th T20I fifty which also saw her going past Bates, Alyssa Healy and Pakistan's Babar Azam to record the most 50-plus scores in a calendar year combining both men's and women's cricketers. A cricketer, whether male or female, notching up a milestone is nothing new in the modern era of the sport. But, at a time when the women's game, after toiling away in obscurity for generations, is taking huge strides to change the dynamics of how people perceive it, Mithali's latest feat is more than just a milestone, it's a stark reminder of how far these wonder women have come, giving the celebrated male cricketers a run for their money. And, if that doesn't get them the respect and praise they deserve, probably nothing will.
  20. Has the finale of a movie ever made you feel like the creators are stupid for creating sequels? I've not felt this angry in a long time. I mean, the brilliance of the climax of 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald' was ruined by the fact that I'd have to wait God knows how long to see more. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this series suffers from the same problem the Hobbit series did. It is not too long. It is not boring in parts. It is not different from anything else that has come out of the magical mind of J.K. Rowling. I'm just pissed off that they didn't go the Netflix way and release all the movies together. Come on Warner Bros., we know you can do it! Stop making us wait! © Warner Brothers Pictures Honestly, I didn't think anything could come close to the way I felt after 'Avengers: Infinity War.' But, 'The Crimes Of Grindelwald' turned me into a 16-year-old boy once again. I was back in the magical world I grew up in. While the first Fantastic Beasts movie served as a sort of welcome back to the Universe, this was the housewarming party. And guess what, everyone's invited! Okay, enough rambling, it's time to delve into the wizarding world and see what our protagonist, Newt Scamander is up to. No no, one more thing. Let me address all the other movie reviewers who have chosen to rip this movie apart for having Grindelwald in the title and not making him a central character. The movie is part of the 'Fantastic Beasts' series and it is the story of one man and one man alone. Not Albus Dumbledore, not Gellert Grindelwald. No, not even Credence Barebone! It is the story of Newt Scamander and don't you forget it. Also, here's the background score to help make this a more entertaining read. Now, let's get into it! Those Damn Muggles Why do muggles have to be so different? I understand that we all have jobs but, do you send an electrician to fix the plumbing? No! Then why would you send a muggle to review a Fantastic Beasts movie? Yes, it's best to detach yourself when writing a review, but sometimes, just sometimes, forming a strong bond with the lore behind the film you're watching, could amplify every single word. © Warner Brothers Pictures Is this the perfect movie for someone who has never seen a single Harry Potter movie? Hell no! I'm pretty sure there are a lot of Potterheads who won't consider this the best in the series either. But, none of them, I repeat, none of them, will call this the worst. And even if anyone does, is being the worst in one of the best series ever made actually bad? As Ralph of Wreck-It fame would say, “I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad.” Make sense? Kind of? Yeah, I think so too. National Treasures No, Nicholas Cage isn't going to sneak into this article (or you could say he did). There are very few people who I'd consider calling National Treasures (Jeremy & Chris from CinemaSins know what I'm talking about). Jude Law & Johnny Depp are right up there. Yes, Johnny has made some questionable decisions in his life, but the eccentricity that he brings to the screen is seconded by none (although Aamir did give it his best shot). As for Jude Law, he was the man that took Watson out from behind Sherlock's shadow. Now if that's not an achievement then what is. © Warner Brothers Pictures But, the two men I believe should be turned into national treasures right now are Eddie Redmayne and Ezra Miller. It's not the power-packed scenes that make me believe they are amazing. It's the simple ones. Their mannerisms. It's like they are the characters they portray. Not a single slip. You could literally watch the first and second movie in the Fantastic Beasts series and see no continuity errors in their mannerisms at all. Now, that's what I consider great acting. The Magical World Of Harry Potter Yeah, that's how we were introduced to J.K. Rowling's 'Wizarding World.' But here, we get to see a world that doesn't even know of the existence of Harry Potter. Is it not as magical? Well, it's a lot darker for sure. But, it's certainly just as magical. I hate the fact that we will never be able to go back to the first time we got on the train with Harry. That scene, although so simple, had the deepest impact on me. I'm pretty sure it did on all of us. We all desperately waited for our letter from Hogwarts for months, didn't we? It's because of that scene. Believe it! © Warner Brothers Pictures I love that 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald,' didn't waste any time trying to introduce us to the magical world again. We're just expected to know that magic exists in this universe. It's not special. Yes, these are the prequels, but we don't need to be reintroduced to the Stupefy charm. We are expected to know what it is! That's the way it should be! Fantastic Beasts Indeed This is where I think most No-Maj's lost the plot. They came to review a Harry Potter movie. But, he isn't in the movie. So, how do you pass your time? You criticize everything you don't understand. And if you're not a Potterhead, then there's a lot you aren't understanding. Everyone complains when a movie is too on the nose with every reference it's trying to make. Everyone complains when a movie subtly references something and expects the audience to be a fan and understand exactly what is happening. What do you want? © Warner Brothers Pictures Deep down, the title of the series should be a giveaway. The series is about Fantastic Beasts and this movie had some truly fantastic ones. I'm not going to go into the details of each and every one but they're majestic creatures for sure. I could marvel at their beauty all day long. If even one of you think they deserve a separate article by themselves let me know in the comments and I'll do it. Action Set Pieces That Would Make Michael Bay Proud You see Michael, there is a way to make things blow up and still make it believable. Giant robots are just as unbelievable as magic. I can't believe I got to see some of the best action set pieces of the year in 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald.' It wasn't over the top at any point. It was all believable. I never for once thought we were venturing into the realm of the insane. Yes, you'd have to stretch the imagination a little since you are in a magical world, though. © Warner Brothers Pictures The action set piece right at the end gave me goosebumps. It was so powerful that I actually felt hope slowly drain out of my body. No, not because of what had happened. But, because I'm pretty sure I'm not going to see anything as powerful again any time soon. And quite frankly, that just sucks. James! Newton! Howard! James Newton Howard deserves a special mention. Music composers often go unnoticed by regular moviegoers without realizing how much of an impact they have on the story. Remember the feeling when you were taken back to Hogwarts for the first time? Think it was just the visuals that made it happen? Of course not! It was the music. Try watching it on mute and tell me if it has the same impact. Just a simple eagle eye view of Hogwarts can become so much more beautiful with the right music behind it. That's why James Newton Howard is also one of the leads of this movie. For sure! The Climax It's only fitting that we end with the climax. Before you read any further, be warned. Spoilers ahead! So, if you haven't watched 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald' already, bookmark this link and come back once you have. © Warner Brothers Pictures It's been a while since a movie pulled the rug out from under my feet. Yes, Marvel did it with 'Infinity War'. But, we kind of had an idea that was coming. Here, it was a bolt from the blue and that's why the shock factor was much higher. I mean, I thought it ended after the battle at the cemetery. Then I thought it ended when Newt met Dumbledore at Hogwarts and handed him the pendant containing his blood oath. But, boy did I not see the gut punch. When Gellert said the name, Aurelius, I couldn't believe my ears. I was in shock. Even if you hated every single second right up to this point, your jaw was on the floor! Admit it! I sat staring at the credits for at least 10 seconds right after instead of immediately picking up my phone and typing frantically. Yes, that's impact. Partly because I didn't see that coming and partly because I probably just saw the best movie of 2018 and there's no way to obliviate myself so I can watch it for the first time, again!
  21. Allowing your customers to find exactly what they need as fast as possible will no doubt increase sales. A good number of our customers use Commerce to sell physical items. Until now, it's always been a little tricky to set up the store to allow customers to drill down into specific items within the store. In Invision Community 4.4, the sidebar in the store now includes filter options to help customers find the product they're looking for. Screen Recording 2018-11-06 at 11.45.49.mov Using the filter sidebar Administrators can set up whatever filters they like for each product. In this video above, you can see we have set up filters for color and price. You can set these filters up in the AdminCP by simply specifying each possible option: Creating a custom filter Once the filters have been set up, you can then add each filter to the categories it applies to (so you can have different filters for different categories) and when editing any product you can specify as many values for each filter as is appropriate (for example, if you have a color filter, you can choose multiple colors if the product allows the customer to choose a color, or if the product has multiple colors). Choosing the filter values when creating/editing a product In addition to these custom filters, you will also see filters for price (you can set appropriate bands for each category), rating, and stock level. Other Commerce Improvements In addition, we also have a few more features new to Commerce in 4.4: There are new sidebar blocks for best selling products, latest products, product reviews and a featured product. When sending a bulk mail, you can target recipients by the total amount they have spent. Categories with no products in them are hidden automatically in the store. Notification emails sent to customers to let them know their purchase will expire soon (including if they will be automatically charged) have been improved to show more clearly what will happen. When viewing a customer page in the AdminCP, active purchases are separated from expired and cancelled purchases to make it easier to discern which are active. Custom field values are now included on printed invoices. When filtering support requests in the AdminCP, you can now choose "more than" or "less than" for all time-based filter options. When using stock actions to reply to support requests, the stock reply can be incorporated into the staff member's default reply content rather than overwriting it. Invoices in the AdminCP can now be filtered by status. This blog is part of our series introducing new features for Invision Community 4.4.
