  1. You see, it's actually true when they say 'not all heroes wear capes'. Ask someone who has known a superhero in all flesh and blood, someone who came into their life when their every breath was hanging by a thread. Call them whatever you choose - saviour, messiah or guardian angel, but the fact is, they indeed are heroes who have ditched the capes, and bear such courage in their hearts that's only second to a lion's. So yes, not all heroes wear capes. Some wear khaki uniforms, Indian Navy hats and even regular clothes, but they all have one thing in common - all of them would put their own lives on the line to save the people around them. Check out the inspiring stories of these 6 dedicated officers who went beyond the call of duty, and risked their lives to save others: 1. RPF Constable Jagbir Singh Rana © Twitter The RPF constable was most recently in the news for his bravery and ultimate sacrifice that saved five lives at the cost of his own. Constable Rana was patrolling the busy tracks between Adarsh Nagar and Azadpur railway stations when he was killed by a Shatabdi Express while saving a couple and some children from getting hit by trains. He managed to bring the couple arguing on the tracks to safety, but during a second round while trying to save a few kids, he couldn't get off the tracks on time and got hit by a train. Constable Rana died on the spot. 2. Lieutenant Rahul Dalal © Facebook While out on the beach with his wife at the Vypin beach in Kerala, Lieutenant Rahul Dalal noticed a gathering of curious onlookers along the beach. When he got closer he realised that someone was drowning and crying out for help. Strong evening currents didn't help the situation and stopped others from helping the poor guy. Lt. Dalal jumped right in and was almost crushed under the drowning man's frantic attempts to get to safety. However, despite the strong currents and the odds the lieutenant managed to bring the man to safety. 3. Constable Raj Kamal Meena Brave constable Raj Kamal Meena of PS Khyala saved the life of a boy drowning in Bawana Canal. Rajkamal went to Bawana for a raid but when he saw the child drowning, he jumped in the canal to save him. Proud of Ct Rajkamal. @DelhiPolice @LtGovDelhi pic.twitter.com/FDcwJJz4Gc — DCP West Delhi (@DCPWestDelhi) February 4, 2019 Constable Meena who is posted at the Khyala Police Station in New Delhi, was going about his work as usual one day, when he noticed some children playing near the Bawana Canal located in West Delhi. Since it was known for being a dangerous spot where many unfortunate incidents of drowning had taken place, he went to warm them. But by the time he could reach, one of the boys jumped into the calm and began drowning. However, constable Meena's quick thinking and courage saved the boy's life who could have drowned in the deep waters. 4. Sub-Inspector Gagandeep Singh © Twitter Uttarakhand cop Gagandeep Singh became an internet sensation after he stopped a lynch mob from punishing and taking away a Muslim youth's life, based on foolish trepidations that had provoked a Hindu mob to take the matter in its own hands. Sun-Inspector Gagandeep Singh showed commendable courage when he single-handedly prevented the mob from harming the Muslim youth in a Hindu temple, where he had allegedly gone to meet his Hindu girlfriend. 5. Constable Sudarshan Shinde © Twitter When a dangerous fire broke out at a pub in Mumbai's Kamala Mills compound, constable Shinde had been patrolling in a nearby area. As soon as he heard about the fire, he rushed to the spot. Some people had gotten trapped inside due to the blaze and excessive smoke. However, constable Shinde was able to help some of them who had turned on their mobile torches. However, when he found some unconscious people inside, he ignored his own safety and rescued them by carrying outside on his own shoulders. He managed to save many lives that night when the fire claimed 14 lives. 6. Head Constable Abhishek Patel © Twitter Head constable Abhishek Patel posted in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district became a hero for 400 young school children after he risked his own life to save theirs. It was reported that a bomb was found near a school in Chittora village, and upon finding it Patel picked up the 10kg bomb and ran for a kilometer carrying the bomb on his shoulder. A 12-second video of his sprint had also gone viral on social media.
  2. We only get to realise how uncertain life really is when we come across incidents like these. While our thoughts go out to the family members of the army soldiers who lost their lives in the bizarre fire in Mhow, we can't help but ponder the odds of something like this happening. On Thursday, a team of snipers of the Indian Army were target-practicing in Mhow, a cantonment in the Indore district in Madhya Pradesh. Like any other regular day practice, the soldiers were wearing their gille suits, an outfit made up of dry leaves and grass to help the shooters camouflage with the surroundings. Suddenly, a wildfire wrapped the shooters around out of nowhere taking away the lives of two while severely injuring nine others. Army Sources: Two Indian Army soldiers killed in fire incident at the Bercha and Hema ranges in Mhow near Indore today. Fire was caused due to spark during firing practice. #MadhyaPradesh — ANI (@ANI) April 4, 2019 “Two Indian Army soldiers were killed in a fire incident at the Bercha firing range in Mhow near indore. The fire was caused due to spark during firing practice,” ANI reports Army officials saying. According to Additional SP Mhow Dharmraj Meena, Ranjit Sumer, 27, Jhunjhunu resident in Rajasthan and Akshya Ramsingh, 25, a resident of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, were the two soldiers who died dousing the flames. Meena also mentioned that some of the injured soldiers were also airlifted to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment. However, three out of the remaining nine have been deemed to be in critical condition and have been moved to Delhi for better care. Joining the family in the mourning of their loved ones, people showed their respect for the soldiers: Tragic. RIP braves @adgpi. 4. The only day the world becomes absolutely unreliable is on April Fool's day because you never know if the content all around you is trying to prank you or not! And that's what most publications, websites and TV channels tried to do on the 1st, including Comedy Central. While scanning channels I stopped on Comedy Central to watch the most popular sitcom on television since the early man- 'Friends', and to my sweet horror, it wasn't a delight anymore to watch the series. They'd planned to air the show for 12 hours, from 6 pm till 6 am and the prank they played on us was harsh af! © Warner Bros Television They'd taken one character from each episode and dubbed his/her voice in Hindi, while the rest were speaking in English, as it was originally and let me tell you this-watching Friends being dubbed in Hindi is certainly an acquired taste! For instance, the first episode I put on was where Joey goes on a date with a girl who keeps fishing food from his plate, and then he says his iconic line "Joey doesn't share food!". Well, the only difference was that Joey's character was speaking in Hindi, while everyone else in English. So instead he said 'Joey khana nahi banthta!'. Well, all this seemed alien but that's not all! After a little while, it seemed like Joey's voice seemed very familiar, like I've binged heard his voice all through my 90s. Then the realisation donned on me- Joey's dubbed voice was actually Shah Rukh Khan! I wasn't sure if I should've been ecstatic or pissed off actually. © Warner Bros Television Well, CC went on to dub every character's voice for one episode each, till the crack of dawn. So Monica's voice was dubbed by Kajol, Pheobe's was dubbed by Kangana Ranaut, Chandler's by Saif Ali Khan, Ross's by Amitabh Bachan and Rachel's by Sonam Kapoor and they all took turns to speak in Hindi. While Comedy Central was creating a laugh riot all across the country by showcasing an absolutely new avatar for the world's most loved sitcom, I actually found it to be a little bit of a nightmare! It probably went on as planned but the stars dubbing the voices scrupulously, like they're still in the 90s, trying to make sure the audience knows it's them was a bit too much to handle. As I said, it was an acquired taste and after a while, I got used to Saif Ali Khan saying 'Mein hoon Chandler, aur mere paas sirf hasi mazaak hai'. It felt very familiar and endearing by the end of it TBH. © MensXP Head of programming, English Entertainment, Viacom 18's Hashim Dsouza made a statement and said: “Comedy Central has been the home of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and we've continually presented this iconic show through fresh and innovative programming that week-on-week keeps it at the pinnacle of most-watched shows in English entertainment. Delving deep into the spirit of April Fools, we're giving viewers a unique and bizarre version of their favourite sitcom, ensuring they enjoy this ultimate prank-day. For the longest time, Indian fans could only imagine and hope for a Desi F.R.I.E.N.D.S, but now that wait is over as we give them a glimpse to a whacky Hindi-speaking avatar of the show.” © Warner Bros Television That's quite a lot of work, to be honest, Comedy Central. Some parts did make me laugh though, parts that I got used to and didn't find funny in the past, seemed funny in Hindi for some reason. It could be the way they were dubbed and the Bollywood actors trying to embed their humour through their own style for each character. All in all, it was a good watch and something completely unexpected. If you missed out on it, I am not sure how you can watch a re-run of the same again but I do know Comedy Central doesn't lack innovation and they'll be back with something super fun, once again.

  6. Apple has introduced some cool and hidden features on iOS which you can find deep within the settings menu in iPhones. You can check out all the hidden iOS 12 tricks we found during our tests here. Having said that, there's a new tip going viral that allows users to use their iPhone as a microphone if you own a pair of AirPods. It works even if you are far away thanks to the Bluetooth technology on board. If u have AirPods ð§, u can press “Live Listen” to “On” and leave your phone in the room with someone and u can hear what they saying, thank me later𤫠pic.twitter.com/fC6KYmqpB4 — arnold (@arnoldcrndo) January 9, 2019 The feature was spotted on Twitter and is called “Live Listen” which basically turns your iPhone into a listening device. The person who tweeted about the feature said that it could be used as a way to cheat on a test. © MensXP After checking out the feature for ourselves, “Live Listen” is targeted towards people with hearing loss. It was introduced in a software update in September for Apple's AirPods and basically lets people with hearing listen in via the Bluetooth enabled earbuds. Basically, after turning on the feature you can point your phone towards the person you want to hear speak. You basically get to hear what the person is saying through the hearing aid feature on the AirPod. Apple describes it as "Made for iPhone hearing aids, sound processors, and now AirPods can help you have better conversations in loud places. Just turn on the Live Listen feature and move your iPhone toward the people you're talking with.¹ Live Listen uses the microphone to pick up what they're saying more clearly.” Here's how you can turn on the “Live Listen” feature: © Twitter Go to Settings Control Center Customize Controls. Turn on Hearing. 2. Put AirPods in the ear and open Control Center 3. Tap the ear icon, it should say “Live Listen” 4. To get clear audio, place the iPhone's chin facing the person to hear what they have to say. It is unclear if Apple is already aware of the situation, and if it will do something about it. Perhaps can bring in a new update where it would play a sound to alert people around the phone that the Live Listen feature is activated. For now, please be responsible and respect other people's privacy.
