  1. Let’s begin with saying that, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ also known as (Salazar’s Revenge) is better than its previous instalment. The new addition to the Pirates franchise has nothing new to offer. ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ fails to capture the very essence that ‘The Curse of the Black Pearl’ created. Imagine what happens when the most iconic character of the film is missing? Amidst the various plots and new characters, Jack Sparrow goes missing. It’s a hideous crime to let the legendary character get lost and be overshadowed by the new ones. Henry Tuner (Brenton Thwaites) and Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario) are in search of Trident of Poseidon. Henry wants to find Poseidon’s Trident and free his father (Orlando Bloom). They need a ship and a captain to get this treasure and Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is the only one who can help them to find this. Sparrow can also use it to defeat the spectral Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) who wants revenge. The three come together and set sail in an adventure that isn’t all cracked up to be. Johnny Depp and Javier Barden, these two incredible actors try to take charge of the film one by one but barely manage to make this a memorable voyage. © Pirates of the Caribbean Salazar’s Revenge_Tumblr The studio has tried to remake the hit formula of fighting an evil baddie and bringing the Black Pearl back but things seem forceful at times. There are five characters chasing each other aimlessly. Even with all these cons, it is good to see Jack Sparrow back on-screen after six years. Watching him being his cocky and witty self has always been a treat. Even though there are various things that disappoint you in this film, you still laugh when Sparrow acts all cool, eccentric, drunk and carefree. Here’s why you should or shouldn’t watch ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’. 1. The adventure is something you have seen before but you’ll still enjoy it. The VFX are glorious and the actors have great comic timing. 2. Hats off to cinematographer Paul Cameron’s camera work. He impresses you with every shot. 3. The main problem is that the film lacks the element of surprise. You can predict what might happen next. 4. The biggest issue is a legendary character like Jack Sparrow has no strong plot backing him. It feels horrible to see a talented protagonist being underused. 5. At times, the plot of the film gets bizarre. For example, Salazar and Sparrow’s revenge battle could have had more screen time. 6. Still, the movie survives and entertains you because of impeccable comic timing and special effects that gives it a larger than life feel. © Pirates of the Caribbean Salazar’s Revenge_Tumblr 7. One of the biggest drawbacks is you have shell out hundreds of rupees to watch Jack Sparrow and he is abandoned by the director in order to make others rise and shine. 8. The climax is a treat to watch. It almost makes up for everything that the film lacks. © Pirates of the Caribbean Salazar’s Revenge 9. Get ready for the Black Pearl to sail again. The voyage might not be very pleasant but these pirates will make sure you have a good time.
  2. If you were still looking for reasons to go and watch ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, we found just the thing you need to drag yourselves to the movie theatres on May 26 and that is none other than legendary singer-songwriter, Sir Paul McCartney. McCartney will be doing a cameo in the movie and we are already dying over this picture where he looks unrecognizable. #PiratesLife pic.twitter.com/9GXS5QB931 — Paul McCartney (@PaulMcCartney) May 13, 2017 While rumours were rife that he might appear in the fifth instalment of the film, ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’, this picture has left us on the edge making it harder to wait for the release. With long, charcoal-coloured hair, heavy eye shadow and a bandana paired with a kickass pirate’s hat; McCartney looks every bit rugged and killer as a dreadlocked jail-guard. © Pixabay McCartney isn’t the only rocker to be a part of this mega-successful franchise. Earlier, guitarist Keith Richards slayed the audience as Captain Teague, Jack Sparrow’s father in ‘At World’s End’ and ‘On Stranger Tides’. © Walt Disney While McCartney’s role is not yet revealed, given the killer gaze and a pack of cards in his hands we are sure that it’s not going to be something that can be ignored or forgotten easily. He will be joined by actors like Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightley, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, Javier Bardem and Kaya Scodelario and more; in this epic journey where Jack Sparrow will seek the Trident of Poseidon (a powerful artefact that grants control over the seas), to defeat Salazar. 3. The Beatles guitarist and solo artist Paul McCartney is all set to sail the seas in the latest ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ installment Dead Men Tell No Tales. The music legend, 74, revealed his look for the role in a Twitter post over the weekend, putting his fans on high alert for the upcoming sequel. He is seen in full pirate costume sporting a long beard with dreadlocks and holding playing cards. #PiratesLife pic.twitter.com/9GXS5QB931 — Paul McCartney (@PaulMcCartney) May 13, 2017 The fifth installment of the Disney franchise will see the return of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Barbosa. Orlando Bloom is also set to return as Will Turner, a role he last played in 2007's At World's End. Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theatres later this month.
  4. The swashbuckling pirates are back! The latest trailer for the newest installment of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie, ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’, just dropped and it focuses on the origin story of Captain Jack Sparrow’s enemy, Salazar. The trailer also shows a young and digitally de-aged Jack Sparrow and takes us way back to when he first hit the high seas. Still sporting his famous manliner, he steals the magic compass from Salazar and in the process, also destroys him, his ship, and his crew. So, now Salazar is obviously out for revenge, and he will not stop until he finds Jack. © Disney With ghost sharks and Jack the Monkey also making an appearance, the trailer looks epic and we are sure the movie will not disappoint at all. The film will be hitting the big screen this May and we cannot wait to watch it this summer!
  5. Iceland’s most radical political party is expected to take control of Iceland’s government and might replace the current coalition that is ruling. The opposition in its entirety has agreed to hold elections earlier than usual, thanks to the Panama Papers scandal that were leaked earlier in October. The Pirate party practises ‘direct democracy’ and wants to encourage greater government transparency, an asylum for US whistleblower Edward Snowden and a new constitution. The party has been on top of every opinion poll that has been conducted in every constituency across the nation. The election is expected to be held in October 2017 as the former Prime Minister Sigmundur Davio Gunnlaugsson resigned earlier this year in April. He was the first victim of the Panama Papers leak and there were documents that revealed that he had millions of pounds of money that was stashed offshore. President Gudni Johannesson made the announcement after meeting Birgitta Jonsdottir, who is the head of the Pirate political party. YouTube "Earlier today I met with the leaders of all parties and asked their opinion on who should lead those talks. After that I summoned Birgitta Jonsdottir and handed her the mandate," he told reporters. The pirate party was founded four years ago by a group of hackers and activists as they spearheaded the anti-copyright movement and later transformed into a political party. Iceland’s Pirates attained over 5% of the vote in the 2013 elections and won 3 seats in the 63 member parliament. There is a clear consensus that the people of Iceland want to vote against the establishment, as the party’s appeal is very much similar to Syriza in Greece and Spain’s Podemos. It has been three years since the party was established and the people of Iceland are connecting to the party’s policy of transforming their democracy and transparency. The Pirate party is not really clear about their policies but it is not acting as a deterrent. Iceland’s citizens feel that there is a cronyism endemic in Icelandic politics and the impunity of the wealthy few support the Pirate Party has skyrocketed in the recent past. The Pirate party is built on the belief that new and updated technologies will help in promoting civic engagement and also increase government transparency. They believe that the citizens of Iceland have ‘unlimited right’ to be involved in Politics and political decisions. They want ordinary citizens to promote new legislation and also take part in referendums.
