  1. The fans and friends of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston want the Hollywood exes to spend time together
  2. Intermittent Fasting (IF) has been the most popular fitness trend in the world, and in India for the past couple of years and more and more people are joining the cult with hopes of getting fitter, reducing the extra kilos and even adding some years to their lifetime. The phenomenon involves alternating between eating and fasting cycles and a lot of research has gone into churning out its positives and negatives ever since it was popularised by Martin Berkhan of Leangains.com. Having said that, there exist a lot of myths related to IF that people are believing in blindly and we are here to debunk them with the help of Sheryl Salis, a registered dietician, certified diabetes educator and wellness coach with a career spanning 19 years. MYTH 1: Fasting Decreases Your Metabolic Rate It is believed that fasting will slow down your metabolism or the biochemical processes that break down food molecules and transform them into energy. But is it true? âNo, fasting does not slow down the rate of metabolism in your body. In fact, research has shown that the blood levels and growth hormone may increase by as much as five-folds with fasting. Higher levels of these hormones can increase fat burning. It also increases muscle gain and has numerous other health benefits,â says Salis. MYTH 2: You Can Eat As Much As You Want When You Break Your Fast Does it make a difference if you eat a lot of food after not eating anything all day long? How much can something like that affect your entire dayâs resistance and hard work? âAt the end of the day, you have to achieve a caloric deficit if you want to get rid of the extra weight. So you have to keep a watch on how much you are eating. The quality of food that you consume also matters,â she says. âWatch your portions and make sure what you eat is a nutritionally well-balanced meal.â Intermittent Fasting is just the first step towards healthier living. If you let yourself go crazy during that one meal of the day and consume calories worth the entire day, it just defeats the purpose. Myth 3: You Can't Workout While Intermittent Fasting Will you be able to go to the gym or play your favourite sport while you are in the middle of an IF session? Will your body be able to take it? âWorking out is not impossible. We tell our clients to work out towards the end of their fasting period. If you are fasting for 16 hours, then we tell them to work out in the 15th hour so that they finish their workout and break their fast food,â Sheryl tells MensXP. So, get out there and shoot some hoops or lift some weights, whatever floats your boat. Myth 4: A Big Breakfast Is A Must We were always told that we must have breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar, but does that saying stand valid in todayâs era? âThis is a myth as well. Today, we see so much insulin resistance, especially during the morning time and we have a large number of pre-diabetic people in our country, we still need to be careful about what we are eating,â she says. âBreakfast should be low-carb with a good amount of complex carbohydrates, high protein, and healthy fats. If people have a lot of insulin resistance in the morning, it would load them with extra carbs and that will only increase your fat storage,â she adds. MYTH 5: Will Give Similar Results To Everyone © Pexels The idea seems simple enough, right? Donât eat anything for the larger portion of the day and consume a well-balanced diet when you are supposed to. So, everyone who tries Intermittent Fasting must get similar outputs if not the same, correct? âThere are different ways to do Intermittent Fasting. It is already very popular in our country because traditionally a lot of people have been familiarised with the phenomenon. For example, Jains finish their dinner before sunset and then they break their fast only the next day. Be it Ramadan, Lent, Chauvihar or any one of the many other fasting practices in our country.â Intermittent Fasting, however, has various types: It could be a â5-2 Fastâ: You eat everything for five days and then for two days you restrict yourself to 500 calories; Alternate Day Fasting: Dry Fasting: You donât eat or drink anything for a given period of time. âWe need to figure out what really works. Not everybody will actually do well with IF. We choose our clients and make highly customised diets for them,â says Sheryl. âYou also have to taking other conditions into consideration such as pregnancy, lactation, if they are on insulin or any other drug, which causes the blood glucose to drop,â she adds. âThose people arenât the ideal candidates for IF.â On the other hand, some people really do well with IF, especially if they feel the need to keep eating through the day, and take a lot of calories. âThere is a lot of evidence today that IF also activates the gut-brain pathway, that helps improve the gut health as well. Evidence also exists that suggests that IF reduces the risk of Alzheimer's, dementia, as well as improve longevity or life expectancy.â Sheryl Salis also recommends adding coconut oil to your Intermittent Fasting diet. © Twitter âCoconut oil is a good source of MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) and due to their chemical structure, they are metabolised differently than other fats. They are converted into ketone and give energy almost instantly and donât get stored up like other fats,â she says. âAdding coconut oil to your diet will help reduce hunger and also allow you to extend the fasting period without giving you a lot of cravings. However, we have to remember that we need to monitor how much coconut oil we are having daily,â she clarifies. She recommends consuming two teaspoons of coconut oil in the morning with water while you are in the middle of an intermittent fasting stint. View the full article
  3. New rumours about the 2020 iPhones have emerged and it comes from one of the most reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The rumours, or rather prediction mentions that Apple is planning to launch a few more iPhones than they normally do in a year. Kuo has detailed that up to five new iPhone models which are expected to launch in 2020 and one of them is going to be a throwback to an iPhone we haven't seen in a while. © Tf Internatioal Securities iPhone predictions can't be entirely accurate as Apple is known for changing their mind at the last minute, however we're quite excited about what's in store for Apple customers. Next year, we can expect a 4.7-inch iPhone that will come with a single rear camera and could be the new iPhone SE 2. There's a good chance we might see this phone launch in the first quarter of 2020 while other rumoured phones may launch in the latter half of the year. © Unsplash/Daniel Romero The other phones that are expected to launch include a “5.4-inch iPhone 12 with dual-lens rear camera, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 with dual-lens rear camera, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro with a triple-lens rear camera, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max with triple-lens rear camera” according to Ming-Chi Kuo via MacRumors. All four smartphones are expected to support 5G connectivity and come with OLED panels like the Pro models from this generation. © Unsplash/Daniel Romero The iPhone SE, expected in 2021, could come in two sizes i.e. with a 5.5 and 6.1-inch display while the Pro models may not even come with a lightning port. Apple has already implemented a USB-C port the iPad Pro and it could be possible that Apple may include a USB-C port for the new higher-end iPhone models too. There's also a good chance that the company may not even include any ports and completely rely on fast wireless charging and fast data transfer speeds. As usual, these are based on rumours and need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Whether the rumours are true or not, it looks like Apple is working on something exciting for 2020. 4. Suniel Shetty is 58 years old. Let that sink in, before we get into the man bun tips. Why? Because he probably is the only actor in Bollywood who at 58 can give 25 year olds a legit run for their money, both in terms of style and fitness. © Viral Bhayani He just grew a man bun, and we're here for it. Not only does it look absolutely stylish, it is also serving us grooming lessons on a platter. Read on! © Viral Bhayani 1. You don't have to have extremely long hair to make a man bun. Yes, it is called a bun, for which the assumption is that quite a bit of length is required, but that's not true. As long as you have enough hair to tie in a ponytail, you can manoeuvre it to look like a bun. Tie it in a pony, and twist the end to get the bun look. It does the job quite well. © Viral Bhayani 2. A messy bun is a legit bun. Often, we are under the impression that a man bun has to be impeccably combed back for it to look legit. That again is not true. Comb it back if you have the time, but if not, just use your hands to do the best that you can, tuck in the rest behind your ears, and you'll be all set. © Viral Bhayani 3. Salt-n-pepper is absolutely fine, people. In fact, it looks better, if you're into looks that are intriguing. A lot of people go for dying and that then results in uneven colouration issues and finally give up on growing the hair. Don't fall into that trap, and just embrace your natural tresses. It looks good, trust us. © Viral Bhayani 4. Always keep your beard and moustache well-groomed. If you're sporting a man bun without a beard, ignore this point, of course, but if you do have a beard, or even a stubble, make sure that it is groomed to perfection. That bit will add that extra oomph to the man bun you're sporting. © Viral Bhayani Go ahead and get that bun! View the full article
  5. People say "action expresses priorities" and the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation gave a living proof of the same when they announced to buy jute coats for the cows staying in shelters to keep them warm. Well, looks like winter is coming, but only for the cows staying in shelters. It's not for cows or other animals who live on the streets, it's not for the homeless human beings who sleep on the footpath without any warm blanket or coat to cover them. It's not for those poor kids who are at the major risk of dying from cold and hunger. Reuters But, why are we talking about them again? That's not a priority, right? What's important...is to make cow coats. Niraj Shukla, Nagar Nigam Commissioner of Ayodhya, said, "We are in the process of getting the cow coats made. This scheme will be implemented in three-four phases. First, we are starting with Baishingpur cow shelter, which houses around 1,200 cattle including 700 bulls and the rest being cows and calves. We have initially placed order for 100 cow coats for the calves." Reportedly, these cow coats cost somewhere between Rs 250 to 300 each and the first delivery is expected in November. He further said, "Three-layer coats for the calves are being prepared. We have asked for the use of soft clothes for the calves in the innermost layer apart from the jute which provides warmth to the body." He also added that cows and bulls will have separate coat designs. Well, of course! Details are important. Twitter What's more, "The cow shelter will also have a bonfire to save the cows from extreme cold. Paddy straw will be put on the floor to provide warmth to the cattle if they choose to sit." Now, how cool is that? In all honesty, there's nothing wrong in making jute coats for cows. But, is it correct to restrict the jute coats only to the sheltered ones who are probably already getting enough care? Shouldn't the focus be on the animals who are living on the streets, who don't have anyone to look after them? Shouldn't the kids be somewhere in the priority list, where they get to sleep under a blanket? This news is making desi people facepalm harder than ever and they didn't leave any stone unturned to convey the same on social media. We don't have funds to give proper health and education facilities to the needy, but we have ample funds to do this. Well, it's great that they are trying to give some comfort to the cows and bulls, why not do this for every animal?https://t.co/x4hpeNGFTV — Shailendra Patel (@IAmShailendraP) November 24, 2019 Rs 250-300 of wasting whose money???? https://t.co/zlPw9XQo5K — Arpita Ghosh (@Arpita0019) November 24, 2019 Jute coats, bonfire: Ayodhya authorities ensure cows stay warm in winter. 7. Established in 2000 as a brainchild of former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Raj Singh Dungarpur, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru was aimed at nurturing and grooming young talent to continue a healthy supply to the Indian team. But, the famed academy has had its ups and downs over the years. Under the reign of N Srinivasan as president, the NCA almost became a "ghost town" in 2013. There was a drastic reduction in staff and budget which saw the axing of video analyst and changing the employment mode of coaches and physiotherapists from being permanent to retainership. But, the decline of NCA hit an all-time low when the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) took over the BCCI for three years. Despite promises of development, the NCA was completely neglected as the BCCI was busy following the instructions of the CoA. Once the hallowed ground for budding cricketers to hone their skills, the NCA had sadly become a mere rehabilitation facility sought by players looking to regain fitness. But, the forgotten academy has found a new ray of hope in Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid. © Twitter Owing to his success with India A and India U-19 sides, Dravid, earlier this year, was bestowed with the responsibility of breathing new life into the NCA as its new chief. More recently, the appointment of Ganguly as the new BCCI president appears to have sparked a positive change in the Indian set-up which also includes revamping the famed NCA. The veteran Indian cricketers, who once carried the baton for Team India on the field, have once again joined hands to take the NCA back to its lost glory. The duo has charted out a plan upon their intense discussion in Bangalore on 30th October. A detailed project, which is likely to cost more than Rs 100 crore, was discussed amongst BCCI top brass and the NCA office-bearers including Ganguly and Dravid. Inspired from Cricket Australia's High Performance Centre in Brisbane, the proposed idea is to transform the NCA into a state-of-the-art Centre for Excellence. The new NCA facility is expected to be built near Bangalore, a stone's throw away from the Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli to be precise. © Twitter Making full use of the new land, which is believed to be on a 99-year lease, the new NCA facility will accommodate three grounds, indoor nets, administrative buildings and the residential complex. The new model will also allow the support staff of the national team to work closely with the National Cricket Centre, sports science and sports medicine unit, and, state associations to aid the development of the contracted players. There will also be separate programmes for the A team, U-19 and U-23 sides. And, much-needed residential programmes designed for the talented and rookies alike. “There are also plans to assist each player to realise their potential. Players will begin at the bronze level and earn promotion to silver and gold on the basis of their performances,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying by The Telegraph. “The facilities at the NCA like the Australian High Performance Centre will include gym, recovery pool, 40m cricket training nets with analytics technology and access to sports science. The NCA will include sports doctors, physiotherapists, strength & conditioners, dietitians, psychologists and biomechanists...It will look after the players' mental and physical preparation and aim to reduce injuries," the source added. © Twitter "If a batsman has a problem with technique or a bowler with his action, the NCA will have all facilities to address it. Bowlers with suspect action can also get corrected here. The presence of Dravid will only make things easier. There could also be some more high profile appointments as consultants. Sourav is hell bent on using Dravid in the best possible way,” the source concluded. While the work related to the new NCA facility is scheduled to begin from January next year, the appointments of Ganguly - as BCCI president - and Dravid - as the NCA chief - are already promising favourable results - one that are undeniably needed to take Indian cricket to new heights. 8. The International Space Station, as we all know, is currently the only fully functional space station in the Earth's lower orbit. It's the result of a partnership between European countries represented by the European Space Agency the United States, Japan, Canada, and Russia. Well, looks like there's going to be another space station by the year 2030 and it's going to be launched by none other than India. The same has been confirmed by the ISRO chief K Sivan during a press conference where he also talked a bit more about the project. © Reuters He made it a point to inform that India will not be joining the International Space Station (ISS) and launch its own space station, which will be an extension of the Gaganyaan project. “We have to sustain the Gaganyaan programme. So, subsequently, as a long-term plan, we are planning to have the space station in India. We are going to join the international community in manned missions to the moon, asteroids. We have a clear plan for the space programme,” Sivan said. The proposed space station will likely weigh 20 tonnes and it's said to be used for conducting microgravity experiments. India is targetting 2030 as the date to launch the space station and the preliminary plan is for the space station is to accommodate astronauts for up to 15-20 days in space. We still don't have a lot of details, but we hope to learn more after the completion of Gaganyaan mission. © Reuters As for the Gaganyaan mission, the government is said to have cleared a budget of Rs. 10,000 crore. It looks like there will be two flights from Sriharikota before the maiden flight with crew takes of sometime in 2022. ISRO's complete focus right now is on India's second moon mission, Chandrayan -2. It will take off on July 15 and will attempt to land near the South Pole of the Moon, which has remained an uncharted territory so far. You can learn more about the Chandrayan-2 mission right here.

  11. Russia is planning to disconnect the entire country from the internet in order to simulate cyberwar on the country. Russians ISPs will be required to redirect web traffic from routing points within the country that will be approved by the government's telecom watchdog. © Reuters Just like every other country, Russia currently uses the global framework to connect with devices all over the world. This will be a move by the country to test cyber security and the country's capability for independent internet that does not depend on global systems. The temporary disconnection takes place in the next few weeks. © Pexels During the disconnection, the country will also rely on its own version of Domain Name System (DNS), the directory of web domains and addresses. The experiment is a part of Russia's Digital Economy National Program which aims to protect the country's digital infrastructure even if other countries cut it off. According to a report by ZDNet “The Kremlin's ultimate goal for the program is to wean the country off foreign internet providers and keep the Russian internet independent so it would be protected against potential cyber attacks,” © Pexels Since all web traffic in Russia will pass through the government's routing points, it potentially means that Moscow will be able to censor the Internet, just like in China. China's internet censorship system, also known as the Great Firewall, blocks websites and censors certain words from social media to prevent citizens from seeing content unfavourable to the regime.
  12. All of us, at some point in life, have planned to start running or participate in a marathon. I have met people from all walks of life, people who are from the corporate sector, housewives, or even people who have just graduated from college. I had people of all shapes, sizes, and weights who have taken up running and it's been a wonderful experience helping them to take up this sport and not just make it into something which becomes challenging or an activity which alleviates anxiety and stress but as a life-changing experience that you keep for good. While speed, strength, endurance, and stamina are perquisites for running the marathon, being equipped with the right gear enhances your performance further. Did you know it's a good idea to keep your running day and training day shoes separate? Here are some important tips to keep in mind when you plan your next 10km run. 1) Start Early To Finish Early It takes anywhere between 14 to 16 weeks for the buildup required to run a 10K race. It helps you stay consistent and ensures your prep is satisfactory for the race. © Nike 2) Don't Focus On Just Running! Warm ups are essential because you need to prepare your body and your heart to take up the rigors of training. The muscles need to be warmed up so that they are ready to generate force. If they are not warmed up and are cold, there are chances of having a muscle tear. So warm up is essential to open your blood vessels and for your heart to comfortably start pumping blood and for the body's core temperature to rise, helping you to be on the go. You can choose a relevant 15min workout on the Nike Training App before you start your run which will not only warm you up but also strengthen you. 3) Don't Just Beat Your Time But Even Eat On Time A good diet is important for running a marathon, a nutritionist or a coach should be able to give you the right meal plan to prep up your body for race day. There are specific quantities to be consumed based on how much you run. For example, carbohydrates should be consumed to the extent of 8 – 10 gms / Kg of body weight. Protein intake is about 1.2 gms / kg of body weight. © Pixabay 4) The Tapering Effect Yes, consistent practice and training are very important but what is also important is that you are tapered well—that means you have reduced your training and you are arriving at the start line relatively fresh-legged. 5) Even Though You Are Happy And Pumped Up, Let Your Body Rest And Recover While you are still pumped up and exhilarated from completing that 10K run, it is important to take appropriate nutrition – carbohydrates and proteins to replenish your body's amino acids and carbohydrates, once the race is over. 13. Mass gainers are one of the oldest and most popular supplements in the market. Every major supplement company has its own range of mass gainers with fancy names: XXL mass gainer, Extreme Mass Gainer, Serious Mass etc. In this article, I will help you understand whether you need a mass gainer or not. And if you do need, which one should you buy. Stop Being Fooled First © Pixabay First, let's burst this bubble. Mass Gainers are marketed in such a way that majority of the population is forced to believe that it magically helps in gaining muscle mass. Well, muscle building is and will always remain a combination of optimal training, nutrition, and recovery (optimal being the keyword). Supplements, steroids, and everything else will always be secondary. Hence, one or even multiple tubs of mass gainers won't get you jacked like the athlete on its packaging. What Are Mass Gainers? A mass gainer is basically the powdered form of a meal. It majorly contains carbohydrates (70%), a moderate amount of protein (20-30%) and some fats (5-10%). A typical serving of mass gainer will have 1000 Calories with 200g Carbohydrates, 25g Protein, and 10g Fats. Who Should Actually Use Mass Gainers? As you can see, mass gainers are nothing but food in a powdered form, which helps you get in extra calories. Therefore, the majority of smart coaches (including myself in past) have labelled mass gainers as a waste of money, because you can get those same calories from real foods. But after training hundreds of people over time, I have learned that everyone's body, appetite, and life circumstances are different. Following Are Some Instances Wherein A Mass Gainer Can Be Useful: © YouTube • You are underweight & have a small appetite. Mass gainers can feed your body with a good chunk of calories and being in liquid form appetite won't be an issue. • You can only eat 2-3 meals after long gaps. Here mass gainer can be used as a snack meal. • You cannot pack a meal for school/college/office and all there is available junk or low-quality food. Here, a mass gainer can be extremely useful in hitting your macronutrient targets especially if you have serious performance goals. Which One To Buy? If you do require a Mass Gainer consider the following things before buying one: 1) It has at least 15g protein per scoop. Note: per scoop not per serving. 2) Ensure the source of protein is a quality one like whey concentrate, isolate, casein, egg protein or a combination of all three. 3) Check carbohydrate source. Avoid dextrose based mass gainers. Maltodextrin and Waxy Maize are acceptable. Complex carb sources like oats, quinoa powder are the best. 14. OnePlus has been killing it in the smartphone segment for the past few years and the company will now expand their business model to TVs. OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau announced that the company is now working towards launching a Smart TV as early as next year and it will be called 'OnePlus TV'. © OnePlus In a press release, Lau said “As other consumer electronics have evolved and improved our lives, televisions have remained conventional and cumbersome. We bring inherent advantages to the industry, and with this new division, we're excited to explore the total connected user experience that can enhance everyday life.” Lau added “For most of us, there are four major environments we experience each day: the home, the workplace, the commute, and being on-the-move. The home - perhaps the most important environment experience - is just starting to enjoy the benefits of intelligent connectivity. Something that seems as simple as displaying the photos from your mobile phone to a television is still difficult to achieve. With the development of AI technology, our imagination is endless – and we are looking forward to the future.” © YouTube As of now, no details about the specs were made public however it is safe to assume that the 'OnePlus TV' will offer 4K/HDR resolution while keeping competition in mind. Affordable 4K smart TVs have suddenly become a huge market for manufacturers in India thanks to companies like Xiaomi, Thomson and others offering products at competitive prices. © YouTube OnePlus will also be looking to integrate their smartphones with the television in order to provide customers with a working ecosystem. The OnePlus TV is also touted to have an AI assistant however it has not been made clear whether it will feature Google Assistant or some other platform. OnePlus has been known to adopt a user-centric ethos that could be translated into the television division as well. We could expect the same premium offering at an affordable price from the company as we have come to expect from their smartphones. *main image for representation purposes only.
  15. Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru have reached their breaking point as far as traffic is concerned. The three are prime examples of the huge inflow of people in search of opportunities because development has been concentrated in these parts of the nation only. This vacuum has left the cities with tens of millions of people, and no space to actually house them in a comfortable way. To counter this very issue, Uber is envisioning UberAir, its concept for urban air mobility. The company today announced the concept at the Uber Elevate Expo being held in Tokyo. It aims to launch demonstration flights in several cities in 2020 and a paid flying taxi operation by 2023. While Uber launched its Elevate programme in 2016, last year the ride-sharing company announced its intention to launch flight demonstrations of UberAir in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. Now, the company has released the first example of future routes for Uber Air flights for Delhi, Tokyo, Mumbai, Seoul, Sydney, and Taipei. The company suggests it can save up to 2 hours every day for commuters via the ambitious project. Uber will meet the country's policymakers in the coming weeks and is keen on implementing the project. © Uber By offering what it calls urban aerial ridesharing, cities across the globe over a five-year period will be able to ease out road congestion as a result of the growing population. The company is working with multiple partners to help build the aircraft with a range of 5-100kms. The aircraft is expected to maintain an altitude of 1,000-2,000 feet and should be able to do more than 100kms on a single charge. Uber is currently working with partners such as Embraer and Boeing-owned Aurora Flight Sciences to develop vehicles, and the company unveiled its first design in May. © Uber “Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru are some of the most congested cities in the world, where travelling even a few kilometres can take over an hour. Uber Air offers tremendous potential to help create a transportation option that goes over congestion, instead of adding to it,” the company said. Bengaluru already has a heli-taxi service operational by the government from Electronic City to Bengaluru Airport.

This would be the legendary investor's first direct investment in the country's buzzing startup scenario. Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led Paytm has been in talks with Berkshire Hathaway since a few months to raise Rs 2,200-2,500 crore (US$ 300-350 million). Berkshire Hathaway is in talks to pick up a 3-4% stake in the company through a primary subscription of shares. The core product of One97 Communications is Paytm, which is currently India's largest payments-service provider. The company is also diversifying the business and has launched Paytm Payments Bank and Paytm Mall. The parent company will soon also enter the mutual fund and insurance space through Paytm Money. © Reuters "The deal, which is likely to be announced within the next two weeks, will be Berkshire Hathaway's first investment in the country's buzzing startup ecosystem. It will also be the company's first investment in a privately-held technology company in the world," the report added. © Twitter / VijayShekhar One97 Communications was launched in 2000 by Vijay Shekhar Sharma as mobile payments and recharge service. Paytm as a product was launched in 2010 and focused only on recharges in the beginning. Slowly, more payment options for bills, utilities, and services were added. 17. Anything can become an 'internet trend' if a bunch of people start doing it and the latest one has been done by so many freaking people, it's gained too much prominence all over the world. Obviously, I'm talking about the 'Kiki Challenge' or the 'In My Feelings Challenge' that has been attempted by at least thousands of people and I'm guessing at least half of them got injured jumping out of the car to show their undying love for 'Kiki'. So that's a success, right? As I said, the entire world is doing this challenge but people in Delhi wanted to be a little different and are now organizing a large-scale challenge where a bunch of people will come and shout 'Kiki, do you love me?' in Connaught Place, Delhi at the same time. Yes, it's 2018 and we're bringing online memes to the real world and making the older generation judge us even more. Fun times! It's happening on August 18 and it seems like there won't be a safety issue. Everyone knows the challenge is not that safe, because well, jumping out of a moving a car will never be safe. With so many safety issues, even the police had to get involved and warn people against attempting this. But, this event seems completely safe since they basically eliminated cars. It'll happen in Central Park and what harm can a bunch of people singing can do? Nothing. Right now, over 400 people are interested, but obviously, all of them won't show up. But, considering the response, looks like close to 70-80 people might just actually come to give free publicity to Drake. If the whole thing sounds familiar, it has happened before. Remember the desi internet phenomenon 'Bol na aunty aau kya?' Yep, a lot of people made the same plan and a lot of people thought it was a joke. But nope, a bunch of people showed up in CP to shout 'Bol na aunty aau kya?'

I purposely didn't mention Goa, because that will open the floodgates to the anger and frustration bottled up inside you right now. At least, it pinches me a lot every time I get added to a new WhatsApp group with Goa written in the subject. Because it eventually gets deleted after a heavy exchange of 'good morning' messages and lame memes. But, our beloved celebrities are different. They work hard and party harder. But, we're still excited. Is it a coincidence that Ranveer chose to visit Switzerland, when speculations are rife that he and Deepika Padukone are going to get married there? 20. There's a high chance that Google may launch a cheaper Pixel smartphone in India as it was earlier speculated by 9to5Mac last year. The report said that Google was working on a budget-friendly device. However, a new report by our sister website ET has further corroborated the story. © YouTube The Economic Times goes further to add that the mid-range Pixel phone may launch as early as July or August and is tailor-made for “price-sensitive” markets. Google's top executives recently shared its consumer products expansion plans with retailers at a trade met held in Malaysia, the UK and the US last month. “Google is excited about the expansion of the consumer products business in India with the advent of the cheap 4G internet led by Reliance Jio and other operators which it says will help to realise the maximum potential of these products,” said a leading retailer who had participated in the meet. © Youtube Google may also be planning to launch the Pixelbook in India which has been one of the most anticipated devices in India. Google is also exploring the possibility of launching other products such as home automation products from Next. These may include doorbell, camera, alarm system, and smoke detectors. Google may also launch its mesh Wi-Fi router in the Indian market. The company is also gearing up to launch Google Home and Google Home mini later this month that may be aggressively priced to compete with Amazon's Echo smart assistant speakers. Google Home and Mini are expected to be priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 4,499. If Google does expand their portfolio with a budget-friendly Pixel phone in India, it could be beneficial for the company as India is now the second largest smartphone market in the world. Apple has also increased its focus in India as the Cupertino giant has also started assembling iPhones in India. Only time will tell whether the search engine giant may release a smartphone that suits a “price-sensitive” market. Source: Economic Times
  21. Apple's Mac lineup is reportedly gearing up for a major hardware shift that could end up leaving some users out in the cold. According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to abandon Intel chips as early as 2020, bringing Apple's own A-series processors to Mac hardware. There are many different types of chips and processors that go into Apple's products, both from Intel and competitors such as Qualcomm, Broadcom, and ARM. But Apple has increasingly looked to bring the design of the most important chips — for things like artificial intelligence and augmented reality — in-house, with chips for Mac, Watch, AirPods, and Beats. © Apple Should this happen, the Mac computer line would have a similar processor strategy to the iPhone and iPad, which already use Apple-produced processors such as the A11 Bionic chip in the iPhone X. Losing Apple as a customer would deal a big blow to Intel. While Macs make up only a small percentage of the total PC market -- 8.2 percent in the fourth quarter, according to IDC -- Apple remains one of the biggest and most powerful companies in technology. Macs tend to command higher prices than Windows-based PCs, and while many PC companies have seen their market share slide, Apple's has been rising. The project, reportedly code-named "Kalamata," is still in its very early stages, but the aim is to make Macs work better in concert for iPhones and iPads. Bloomberg says it will "result in a multi-step transition," so you won't see every device get Apple's new processors anytime soon. © Reuters Intel shares dropped as much as 9.2 percent, the biggest intraday drop in more than two years. By using its own chips, Apple would be able to more tightly integrate new hardware and software, potentially resulting in systems with better battery life — similar to iPhones, which use Apple chips. While Intel has many lines of business, it is still known for its "Intel Inside" computer products. Apple is a large and influential customer. The Mac Pro and iMac Pro use the Intel Xeon, the iMac has Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and Macbooks use versions of the Intel Core i5, Intel Core m3, and Intel Core i7.
  22. It is appraisal season, which could possibly result in significant influx and outflow of employees from a company. Here are a few reasons why even some of your employees may prefer to quit their jobs and how you can prevent that from happening. 1. Toxic Relationships With Co-Workers And Managers © Thinkstock/Getty Images You must have come across the phrase 'employees do not leave companies -- they leave their managers and co-workers.' Office politics and bootlicking could be some of the reasons creating the toxic environment to work in. A quarrel with a co-worker and any case of injustice being dealt out while resolving the issue could be another reason why your employees may want to quit. 2. Low Pay © Thinkstock/Getty Images Everyone wants to get paid well for their efforts, and if one feels that he or she is being underpaid or undervalued despite the good work they are doing, it could become a major reason for them wanting to quit. It is just a matter of time before they would be looking for better opportunities. 3. Lack Of Job Security If employees in your company are getting fired for no good reason, then this creates a negative vibe within the team and thus can lead to trust issues among workers. After all, who doesn't want a stable job and job security? 4. Lack Of Career Advancement Opportunities If an employee gets bored of the same responsibility and routine every day and sees no new opportunity to learn further, it could lead to him looking for better avenues. As an employer, you need to see the signs and talk with your employees if they would like to take on a new opportunity or project. 5. Looking For A Career Change © Thinkstock/Getty Images An employee looking to change his or her field, opting for further studies or even starting their own business could be reasons why they would want to quit their job. In this situation, you can't do much but wish them best in their future endeavors.
  23. Tinder, the most popular and profitable dating app on the planet is now planning a new update that hopes to change the perception of the company. The app has garnered a very negative perception due to some of its feature which is all set to change soon. The app is going to adopt a feature that will prevent men from messaging a woman first. © Reuters The concept isn't new as it is already present in another dating app called 'Bumble”. The app matches individuals who are interested in each other but does not let men make the first move. The messaging app would only let users chat with each other if the woman messages the man first. This is to prevent creepy men from bombarding their matches with d**k picks and obnoxious pick-up lines. The new feature by Tinder is expected to give women more control and power over their matches and choose who they want to talk to. Mandy Ginsberg, executive of the Match group who owns Tinder told MarketWatch, that the new feature will not work similar to Bumble and will be slightly different. The new feature is said to be more of an opt-in feature rather than a mandatory setting. Since Tinder is very smart about monetising features, we expect this feature to be behind a pay-wall for women users that want more privacy. © Youtube Ginsberg said: “Often, women don't really want the pressure of kicking off the conversation, but if they want it, that's great.” Bumble was founded by Whitney Wolfe, co-founder at Tinder after she left the company due to sexual harassment and discrimination she faced at the workplace. She allegedly received a $1,000,000 settlement. © Techcrunch It is worthy to note that the new feature will only be applied to heterosexual users and will not be a feature available to the LGBT community. What do you think of the new feature? Would you be using the feature to avoid d**k picks? Or will it just turn you off and delete the app altogether? Let us know in the comments. 24. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson greets Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi at the State Department in Washington, DC, US, March 22, 2017. REUTERS/Joshua Roberts/Files WASHINGTON: The United States does not plan to contribute any money at a conference in Kuwait next week to fund Iraq?s reconstruction drive after the war against Daesh forces, US and Western officials said, a move critics say could deal a new blow to American standing internationally. ?We are not planning to announce anything,? a US official said on Thursday regarding financial assistance at the conference, which US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will attend. The official, however, said Tillerson could still decide closer to the time to announce a contribution. Washington instead is encouraging private-sector investment and counting on Iraq?s Gulf neighbours, particularly Sunni regional heavyweight Saudi Arabia, to pour in money as part of a rapprochement with Baghdad meant to reduce Iran?s influence in Iraq. President Donald Trump said during the 2016 US presidential campaign that if elected, ?the era of nation-building will be ended.? Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has said his country needs up to $100 billion to fix crumbling infrastructure and cities devastated by the conflict against Daesh. A shortage of reconstruction funds could increase the danger of reinvigorating grievances among the minority Iraqis against Iraq?s government. Asked if the US government will be making an announcement of contributions at the conference, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said, ?I?m not aware of any announcements that we will be making.? ?About 2,300 members of the private sector will also be joining ... and talk about ways that they can help facilitate the large-scale reconstruction taking place in Iraq,? Nauert added. Jeremy Konyndyk, who served from 2013 to 2017 as head of the US Agency for International Development?s (USAID) Office of US Foreign Disaster Assistance, said that by not contributing to reconstruction, especially in combat-ravaged areas, the Trump administration could help set the stage for a new insurgency. ?We?ve seen this movie before. There is a very real risk if the US doesn?t put money into reconstruction, that having just won the battle, you lose the peace,? said Konyndyk, now a senior policy fellow at the Center for Global Development think tank. Another US official pointed to the billions of dollars the United States has committed to financing loans and restoring basic services to Iraqi towns and cities in the immediate aftermath of the fighting. ?The immediate stabilization needs remain vast, and limited US government resources alone cannot meet these current and pressing needs, let alone consider supporting long-term reconstruction,? the US official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official said Washington strongly supports the conference and would ?continue to work with the Government of Iraq and the international community to help address the needs of the Iraqi people as they recover and rebuild their country.? Fifteen years after US invasion The United States, which invaded Iraq in 2003 and toppled the late President Saddam Hussein and more recently led an international coalition fighting Daesh, has pumped billions of dollars into Iraq. In January, the United States said it planned to provide $150 million for stabilization operations in 2018 ? funds that would go to restoring basic utilities and grants to small businesses ? bringing Washington?s total contribution to $265.3 million since 2015. The US government has also provided $1.7 billion in humanitarian assistance for Iraq since 2014, making it the single largest donor to address the Iraqi crisis. ?Absolutely nothing,? said a Western official, who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, when asked whether Washington would announce any financial contributions at the conference to fund long-term reconstruction projects. Mdhair Saleh, Abadi?s economic advisor, would neither confirm nor deny the lack of a US contribution. ?The question is not about direct financial assistance,? Saleh said. ?I think US policy is to support private-sector investment in Iraq. As for direct support in the Kuwait conference on the part of the government, I have not heard anything.? ?Sinews of a strategy? James Jeffrey, a former US ambassador to Iraq, said the United States had already ?poured billions and billions of dollars into Iraq? for the fight against Daesh, equipping Iraqi forces and humanitarian aid. ?Only the United States can organize the diplomatic, reconstruction, military and political sinews of a strategy for the international community,? Jeffrey told Reuters. ?The fact that we?re not putting any money up will weaken our case, and that?s unfortunate.? A US official in Baghdad said the American role in the Kuwait conference would be focused on opportunities ?for true private-sector investment or public-private partnerships with the Iraqi government.? ?What we are trying to do in Kuwait next week is to put together companies that want to look at Iraq ... and possibly also talk about ways to finance projects,? added the official, speaking on condition of anonymity. A State Department official said Washington was counting on other countries to step up, adding that more than 100 US companies would be at the event. Konyndyk, the former USAID official, said business people would want to see the risks of their investments in Iraq mitigated by US government contributions. ?If the US government wants to see private-sector investment go in, they need to put skin in the game,? added Konyndyk, saying a contribution also would demonstrate American commitment to reducing Iran?s influence. Iran, by leveraging its ties with Iraq?s majority, emerged as the main power broker in Iraq after the United States withdrew its troops in 2011.
