  1. If you're cued in with what's happening in Bollywood, you'd know Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30' is releasing in July 2019. The much-awaited Roshan biopic is based on the life of maths genius, Anand Kumar, who runs the famous super 30 program for IIT aspirants in Patna. All the Hrithik fans are truly geared up to watch him play Anand's character. © Viacom18 Motion Pictures The film though has a slight twist of faith, in a good, reckoning way though! The film ran in to trouble recently when director Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual misconduct by two women and became a part of the #MeToo movement. Soon after, the makers of the film decided to ask him to leave the project in order to preserve the sanctity of the film. Since then, the movie does not seem to have a director and its release has been delayed. Earlier it was supposed to release on the 25th of January but now it's scheduled to release on the 26th of July. © Twitter As soon as Vikas was shown the exit door, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas's former partner from now dissolved Phantom Films took over the project and is overseeing the post production of the film. In fact, Shibasish Sarkar, group CEO of Reliance Entertainment, revealed that the film will have no directorial credit whatsoever. "Vikas is not associated with the edit and post-production. There will be no director credit for anyone. As a producer, after substantial investment of time, money and the efforts of all our technicians and talent, it is our responsibility to complete the film with the best possible resources available to us. Anurag is a partner, he has edited films of other Phantom partners in the past. He agreed to take this responsibility on Reliance's request, and with a professional and commercial understanding. Also, it has been agreed that he will not take any credit," the CEO told a popular publication. The film is being produced by Reliance Entertainment and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. © Twitter After the #MeToo movement hit Bollywood, a number of celebrities and producers, directors, and musicians were brought into the limelight on grounds of sexual misconduct and harassment. Vikas Bahl being one of them has been accused of the same by two women, one of them being the renowned actress Kangana Ranaut and the makers will think about putting his name back in the credit role if he gets a court order clearing his name out of it. © Viacom 18 Motion Pictueres By all means, the step taken towards maintaining the sanctity of the movement is quite praiseworthy and we hope more people from the film industry take similar steps toward the perpetrators.
  2. When anyone in the country decides to join the armed forces, it is given than their life and their soul has been authorised for serving the nation. Our brave men fight wars not just on the borders, but the wars they fight everyday in their heart when they serve the nation, while their family prays and waits for their arrival. IAF Squadron leader Samir Abrol was no different when it came to serving his country. © Facebook Squadron leader Samir Abrol and Siddharth Negi were killed while test flying the Mirage 2000 aircraft at the HAL airport in Bengaluru. The pilots tried to eject themselves but failed to do so as the flames engulfed them. This gave rise to many questioning the hygiene standards of aircrafts bought and given by the system to our pilots in the Air Force. #UPDATE The other pilot who had also ejected has succumbed to injuries in hospital. Both were test pilots- Squadron leader Negi and Squadron leader Abrol. #Bengaluru https://t.co/WZYA5RzWSU — ANI (@ANI) February 1, 2019 After Samir's brother Sushant making some valid points that are stark and alarming in questions, Samir's wife , Garima Abrol has now penned an open letter demanding answers for the loss of her husband and thousand other officers who die due to negligence in the system. Sushant Abrol: A train derails & the system wants the Railway Minister to step down but every now and then these crashes happen. Is anyone raising fingers against the Ministry, the defence minister? I have utter respect for Ma'am and I am looking up to her for an answer. https://t.co/GCaxJ4SDrZ — ANI (@ANI) February 7, 2019 Besides highlighting the pain of loss and how a soldier's family is braver than any of us, Garima raises some very valid points that demand our immediate attention. While the messages of empathy and sympathy will continue to flow for the Abrol family, let's not let this chance go and ensure that Samir's sacrifice is the face of change, not just another case of negligence.
  3. The Indian cricket team is a fraternity, a brotherhood based on hours of working out and practising together every day, celebrating the highs, and crying over the lows of the team together as family. But that won't stop the interim skipper Rohit Sharma from trying to pull his fellow teammate and friend Yuzvendra Chahal's leg as soon as he gets a chance to do so. And that's exactly what Sharma did after ODI series against New Zealand ended in favour of India with a final score, 4-1. A couple of days after the fifth match in Wellington ended, Chahal uploaded an image in a rare avatar of that of a batsman along with Kuldeep Yadav with an inspirational caption: “Think big, believe big, act big, and the results will be big..!!” View this post on Instagram Think big, believe big, act big, and the results will be big..!! ð®ð³ð®ð³ A post shared by Yuzvendra Chahal (@yuzi_chahal23) on Feb 4, 2019 at 9:35pm PST Chahal's fans were praising his performance during the 5-match ODI series against the Kiwis when suddenly, out of the blue, the Hitman, Rohit Sharma decided to troll the spinner. Commenting on the Instagram post, Sharma said: "How about ironing your uniform." The comment was bang-on as Chahal's wrinkled out uniform does look as if it could use some ironing. However, Chahal soon responded: “And my big brother trying to troll me hmm nice try bhaiya you improved little bit keep it up.” The duo were also seen sharing a laugh at Yuzi's new BCCI show called 'Chahal TV' for which Sharma also volunteered to be the cameraman once. During the show, Chahal comically asked the skipper if he could start batting at No. 3 given that Virat Kohli has been rested for the upcoming T20I series in New Zealand to which Sharma said: “You were our top scorer in the previous match that we lost. But I want you to be the top scorer in a match which we go on to win. I will speak to Ravi Bhai for your promotion to No.3 in the T20s.” WATCH: Hitman @ImRo45's guest appearance on Chahal TV ðð Why does Rohit want to give @yuzi_chahal a batting promotion? - by @RajalArora Find out here ððð https://t.co/3T5E4KDGEx pic.twitter.com/iI9IZmkoV1 — BCCI (@BCCI) February 3, 2019
  4. Arguably one the biggest and most prestigious football clubs in the world, Arsenal is currently evolving under the structure of new coach Unai Emery, who replaced long-serving Arsene Wenger last year. The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager has struck a chord with the fans and continues to strive for the club's success. However, the recent times are proving to be really tough for the Gunners and their fans. Their chase to finish in the top four was dealt with a major blow after the likes of Hector Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny and Sokratis Papastathopoulos were recently injured. Moreover, their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup on 26th January also dampened the mood in the Arsenal camp. But, just when you thought their troubles were over, the Gunners and their fans found a new one thanks to Esha Gupta - the Arsenal club ambassador. Instagram/@egupta The Bollywood actress, who earlier dated Bellerin, stirred up a storm after a Whatsapp conversation with her friend surfaced on social media. The social media was abuzz and football fans up in arms as a snapshot of her conversation compared Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi to a gorilla. Instagram/@egupta Following the Gunners' FA Cup loss to United, the 33-year-old shared a screenshot of her conversation with a friend on Instagram as one of her stories. "Solves our winger issues. I can't see that gorilla faced Iwobi running down the flank again. He's so bad ya," her friend wrote. To which, Esha replied: "Hahahahahaha...I honestly dunno why they don't bench him more". The former Miss India International winner deleted the post, but the fans were not impressed by the antics of their club ambassador. Following a lot of backlash on the social media, Esha issued an apology, but it was a tad too late to undo the damage. Guys m sorry you thought it was racist. But this is not something m proud of. It was a fault, sorry guys," she wrote in another tweet. But, Arsenal fans were in no mood to forgive as they slammed the actress for her "ignorance" and called her out for being a "racist". Your response is embarrassing! You state on one hand you've suffered racism yet on the other have no idea that you've made a racial slur! Your ignorance and arrogance of this whole situation is beyond words! 5. In today's day and age, imagine living a social media nightmare! How absolutely callous do you have to be, right? Well, seems like callousness got the better of 'Baaghi 2' beauty, Disha Patani, who posted a big blunder on her Instagram, unknowingly. © Twitter The actress, who's also known as a social media influencer, posted a promotional video for a mobile phone on her Instagram page. The video was like how all promotional videos are supposed to be- well thought out, where she learns about the good camera quality the phone has and takes pictures of herself while she's in various yoga poses. Unfortunately though, while posting the video on her page, she copy-pasted the wrong text as caption and didn't realise it until she was trolled and ridiculed by her followers for it. © Instagram disha patani is an advertising agency nightmare pic.twitter.com/mlu6gkhure — n (@themdavesaves) 22 January 2019 The wrongly put caption read: “Hey - final video is here. Will mail you the high res video in something so please use that as the final video to be uploaded. Caption below,” Oops, talk about being so heavily distracted, you don't even realise one of the biggest faux-pas that can maybe question your 'influencer' abilities! Obviously her 17 million followers were appalled at her foolishness or were convinced she's an 'advertising agency nightmare'. © Instagram A lot of other followers left no stone unturned and made it a point to comment on her absentmindedness. Here, you can have a chuckle and a large bucket of popcorn while reading some of the comments below. Ctrl C+ Ctrl V isn't enough to copy. It requires brain too ð — Vishesh Arora (@vishesharora19) 22 January 2019 This one steals the show though. Copy Paste kaise karte hai yeh Disha ko Patani — LowCash Rahul (@NayaGamer) 22 January 2019 She's since changed the caption to a regular one and everything else is back to normal or so it seems. Although her fans defended her saying it's probably her team who'd captioned it and not her, we're still a tad doubtful as most celebrities usually manage their own Instagram and Twitter accounts. © Instagram Well, whatever it is, here's hoping against all hope Disha doesn't zone out again and copy-paste some seriously wrong captions at the risk of people asking her 'what are you smoking girl'?, the next time around! For now let's just wish we get to see the fit diva in 'Baaghi 3', with her rumoured bae Tiger Shroff.
  6. A decade ago, on the morning of January 22, 2008, Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' became the only superhero film to be nominated in a record-breaking 8 categories, a stature that has not been achieved by any superhero genre film till date. via GIPHY The heartbreaking reality associated with this film that still pinches the movie buffs happens to be its exclusion from being nominated in the Best Picture category. Years later, just a day after the announcement of nominations of the 91st Academy Awards, the world is contemplating a rather historic moment that might change the whole significance of the Oscars forever. Ryan Coogler's tour-de-force 'Black Panther', which is a superhero saga, has been nominated for the Oscars in multiple categories including the esteemed Best Picture category. via GIPHY “Wakanda forever”, tweeted 'Black Panther's' lead actress Lupita Nyong'o, as she shared her extreme delight on the micro-blogging platform, regarding the film's nominations. Since then, social media has been buzzing with tweets, comments, and memes. Seven #OscarNoms for #BlackPanther, including best picture!! This is our reaction the first time we saw footage from the film and we're feeling this way all over again today! Thank you @TheAcademy! #WakandaForever #Oscars pic.twitter.com/lXWv3nsN90 — Lupita Nyong'o (@Lupita_Nyongo) January 22, 2019 Where on one hand, the film has been declared a shape-shifting cultural phenomenon prominently at various award ceremonies this year, others are fuming over the Academy's decision of putting the film in the Best Picture category. Who can forget the ultimate dismissal of 'The Dark Knight'? On the 10th death anniversary of Heath Ledger (Joker), fans remember! via GIPHY If we take a look back at Christopher Nolan's 'Batman' sequel, the film got nominated in eight categories and ended up winning two including the posthumous win by Heath Ledger who portrayed Joker in the film. The only possible reason behind the Best Picture nomination snub for 'The Dark Knight' is believed to be the Academy's limit on the number of candidates in this category. 'Black Panther's' nomination is being termed historic, however, one can't help but wonder if it's because of the controversial history of 'The Dark Knight' at the Oscars that the Marvel film got to this juncture? Does 'Black Panther' owe its nomination to the biggest snub of all time – the dismissal of Christopher Nolan's beloved project? via GIPHY 2019 brings more room for nominees in the Best Picture category and the number has been increased from 5 to between 5 and 10 films. That makes us think more and deeply about the loss 'The Dark Knight' faced at the hands of the Academy. Other films that have got nominated this year are 'A Star Is Born', 'Vice', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'The Favourite', 'BlacKkKlansman', 'Green Book' and 'Roma'. But what are the chances of 'Black Panther's' win? The Academy has been famously known for dropping the last minute bombs! Remember the highly criticized 'La La Land' fiasco? As critics said, 'Moonlight's'well-deserved win was taken from their hands and the wrong film was announced on purpose, we don't know what the truth is, but two years later, we know that Hollywood is trying to prove a point here. via GIPHY In simple words, 'Black Panther's' nomination may just be a kind gesture by the Academy to avoid the 'Oscars So White' tirade! When the film surpassed James Cameron's 'Titanic' and became the third highest grossing movie ever in the United States, there came the indication that the Academy might consider it. However, this nomination is indeed a sheer surprise for us. via GIPHY Though stigma has taken a back seat and the film deserves an equal opportunity to win, but somehow, it is meant to be snubbed! Otherwise, it would be a naive but well-planned catastrophe directed towards Mr Nolan.
  7. The last 24 hours have not exactly been the brightest for the Pakistani cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who was caught throwing racially motivated jibes at the South African all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo during the second ODI of five-match series at the Proteas' home turf. As things grew out of proportion, former Pakistani pacer and all-time-great Shoaib Akhtar too decided to humble the outspoken wicket keeper by uploading a minute and a half long video from all his social media handles which he later removed due to reasons unknown. The former cricketer urged Ahmed to make a public apology for the “absolutely disgusting comments” that he had made in Durban. Having said that, after an entire day of public humiliation, Ahmed finally tweeted a long apology in which he shows regret over hurting the sentiments of those who got offended by his “expression of frustration.” 1/2 - I wish to extend my sincere apologies to any person who may have taken offence from my expression of frustration which was unfortunately caught by the stump mic during yesterday's game against SA. However, the judiciary that social media has come to become, was not convinced with this apology of Ahmed's and they let him know that in the best way possible: I think you should be ashamed of yourself using racial language against a fellow cricketer We face racism in the uk everyday I know how it feels #shame — Talib Zaman (@TalibZaman) January 23, 2019 pic.twitter.com/aqLZzalNMq — Om Mehta (@om_mehta) January 23, 2019 pic.twitter.com/U29HzzSDgw — Phumlani Khulu (@Pumbaah1512) January 23, 2019 Saifi bhai ini English ð u made me cry ðð — Tehرeeemeee (Maheen's Bdy â¤) (@Cheerrryy_) January 23, 2019 Saifi bhai zuban zada chlate ho or balla kam chlate ho zada focus game pe rakho — Muhammad Asif Iqbal (@Muhammad_Aasif4) January 23, 2019 jhoot bolta hai bsdk? ðð — Aditya Acharya (@aadiacharya) January 23, 2019 The thing is, when you are caught saying something like “Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya padhwa ke aaye hai aaj?" (Hey black guy, where's your mother sitting today? What [prayer] have you got her to say for you today?),” it doesn't really make a good case for you to say that your remarks weren't directed towards an individual and that you respect the people of colour. If you believe that your words weren't meant to be heard or understood by anyone from the opposing team, it doesn't make you less guilty. It is like Cameron Bancroft not wanting the cameras to catch his infamous ball-tampering incident in South Africa last year. According to the ICC Anti-Racism policy for International Cricket, Ahmed's apparent words of sledging unacceptable and he must be punished for it. If Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are facing so much flak for their remarks on a talk-show, the Pakistani skipper must meet with a penalty a lot more severe.
  8. The Indian cricket team, recently, has been churning out some really fresh talent. It all started with selecting Prithvi Shaw for the England tour, and then Mayank Agarwal was called up in the middle of the Australian tour. And now, here comes another young prodigy, Shubman Gill, who will join the Men in Blue for the New Zealand tour. It all came as a surprise to the 19-year-old youngster, who got the news late at night and straight away rushed to his father, Lakhwinder Singh, to share the same. Going for a practice session the next day, it was totally a different ball game for the rookie, as he couldn't believe that he would be sharing the dressing room with the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. © Instagram Both Vijay Shankar and Shubman Gill have been added to the squad as replacements for the suspended Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. While Vijay was expected to earn his maiden ODI call-up sooner than later, Gill's came as a surprise. He surely has proven his worth by scoring for India A on numerous occasions in 2018/19 but still, making it to the Indian National Team, and that too this soon, was something even he wouldn't have expected. From Kolkata Knight Riders to India A, to Ranji Trophy, this young star has grabbed every single opportunity on his way to glory. Scoring an impressive 1,089 runs in just 9 Ranji matches this year, he has given the critics a run for their money. And as destiny serves its best, there could be no better place for him to make his debut than in New Zealand. Performing well in the Under 19 World Cup, followed by the India A tour, both of which were in New Zealand, he has had a cumulative total of 434 runs (including a century against Pakistan in the Semi-Final) in mere eight matches with an average of 54.25, which proves that this lion can surely roar in the Kiwis' paradise. © Instagram “It is a big advantage (to be picked for the New Zealand tour). I played well there in the U-19 World Cup and now again I have got the opportunity. As I have done well there, I can say that there isn't much adjustment needed in the technique. If I get an opportunity, I will have just need to handle the pressure that comes with playing for India. Mentally, it will be different for sure but I am ready,” Gill told PTI on Sunday after getting the news of his life, late last night. Now, with the opportunity being provided to him on a silver platter, let's hope that the young Shubman Gill capitalizes on this chance of a lifetime.
  9. Ever since trading his Tottenham Hotspur's whites for Manchester City's blue jersey, Kyle Walker has become a vital cog in Pep Guardiola's world class outfit. Proving his mettle in the flexible right-back position, the England footballer has improved as a player and already boasts of a Premier League title, won through City's historic run last season. Continuing his fine form, the 28-year-old was among the scorers who recently annihilated Burton Albion in City's merciless 9-0 thrashing in the Carabao Cup. While City's rampant scoreline, in itself, garnered a lot of attention, Walker, too, grabbed the spotlight for his antics after the game. © Reuters Elated with his goal and performance of his teammates, the England international produced a tongue-in-cheek moment with a hilarious, but useless, post on Instagram. Sharing a picture of his goal against Burton, Walker claimed that he was better than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on the basis of some light-hearted stats. The City star captioned the picture, "Goals in 2019: Walker - 1, Ronaldo - 0, Goals in Carabao Cup: Walker - 1, Messi - O, end of discussion?". In what seems to be nothing more than a joke, Walker claimed that since he has scored more goals than Ronaldo (nine days into 2019) and more goals than Messi in the Carabao Cup (a competition that the Argentine can't play in), he has reached a conclusion on who is the best player in the world. View this post on Instagram Goals in 2019: Walker: 1 Ronaldo: 0 Goals in Carabao Cup: Walker: 1 Messi: 0 End of discussion? A post shared by Kyle Walker (@kylewalker2) on Jan 9, 2019 at 2:09pm PST Walker was trying to capitalise on the long-running argument among football fans who've been divided over the years on 'who is the best player in the world - Messi or Ronaldo?'. Both the mega stars have won the Ballon d'Or a record five times. But, their dominance at the prestigious honour was finally broken by Real Madrid's Luka Modric who became the first player, other than Ronaldo and Messi, since 2007 to win the Ballon d'Or. Following his far-fetched comments, Walker will now be hoping to walk the talk when City return to Premier League action when they host resilient Wolves - a side that has held the defending champions to a 1-1 draw earlier this season. In terms of the title race, after losing some ground with back-to-back defeats, City produced a prolific performance to beat arch-rivals Liverpool that allowed them close the gap at the top to four points now.

  11. In recent time, Kapil Sharma has either been in the news for his fight with Sunil Grover or his reverse transformation, but this time Kapil is in news for his noble gesture that deserves all the respect in the world. It wasn't just Isha Ambani who got married on 12th December, Kapil Sharma also tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar. The couple later hosted a reception for their friends and family members in Amritsar on December 14. View this post on Instagram ð A post shared by Kapil Sharma (@kapilsharma) on Dec 12, 2018 at 10:34am PST When it comes to weddings, wastage of food is quite a common affair. But, that wasn't the case at Kapil's wedding. He put the extra food to good use by filling thousands of empty stomachs who were in need of that food. Reportedly, Kapil Sharma donated the extra food from his wedding and reception to an NGO called Feeding India, who distributed the food to the underprivileged. The founder of Feeding India, Ankit Kawatra said in a statement "Kapil Sharma is setting an example for others to follow by donating excess food from his big day. This will surely create a much-needed awareness for the cause and will motivate others to follow suit. I hope Kapil's act wakes up the country to not waste food and donate extra from weddings." This is truly a heartwarming gesture and an inspirational lesson that we all need to learn from.
  12. Ardent fans and celebrity tabloids alike, waited with bated breath the entire day yesterday, for a glimpse of their favourite stars as a married couple. However, since there is still some time for Christmas, and Santa Claus isn't real, our wishes weren't granted. Obviously. 13. Guys, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh JUST got married. As we all know, Ranveer and Deepika will have two weddings - one is a traditional Konkani ceremony that has happened today and the other is a traditional Sindhi style wedding that will take place tomorrow i.e. November 15, 2018. While we were busy stalking social media to look for pictures from their mehendi and sangeet pictures, thinking there's still some time left in their wedding, recent reports have confirmed that the couple just got married as per the Konkani traditions, at the picturesque Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. 14. It's very easy to focus on a single metric to gauge the success of your community. It's very common for community owners to look at page hits and determine if their SEO and marketing efforts have paid off. Getting traffic to your site is only half the equation though. The most valuable metric is how many casual visitors you're converting to engaged members. Invision Community already makes it easy for guests to sign up using external services such as Facebook, Twitter and Google. However, there has to be a conscious decision to click that sign-up button. For some, this may be a barrier too many. Invision Community 4.4 reduces this barrier by allowing guests to create a post to a topic they want to engage with. Once they have posted, they are asked to simply complete their registration. They are more likely to do this now they have invested in your community. This will be incredibly valuable when you consider how much traffic a forum receives from inbound Google searches. With Post Before Registering, you'll increase your chances of turning that inbound lead into a registered member contributing to your site. Let me take you through the feature and show you how it works. When browsing the community guests will see the ability to submit a post, with an explanation that they can post now and complete registration later. The only thing they have to provide in addition to their post is an email address. Posting as a guest This works in any application for new content (topics, Gallery images, etc.) as well as comments and reviews. It will only show when a newly registered member would be able to post in that area - for example, it will not show in a forum that only administrators can post in. After submitting the post, the post will not be visible to any user, but the user will immediately be redirected to the registration form with an explanation to complete the registration. The email address they provided will already be filled in. Registration form after posting as a guest At this point, the user can either fill in the registration form, or use a social sign in method like Facebook or Twitter to create an account. After the account has been created, and validation has been completed if necessary, their post will automatically be made visible just as if they had registered and then posted. If the user abandons the registration after they've submitted their post, an email will be sent to them to remind them to complete the registration. Email reminding user to finish registering Some Notes Invision Community already has a feature that allows guests to post as guests without registration if granted permission. That feature has not been removed and so if you already allow guests to post, the behaviour will not change. This new feature is only available when a guest can't post in a given area, but a member would be able to. The entire feature can also be turned off if undesired. If the area the guest is posting in requires moderator approval, or newly registered members require approval of new posts, the post will enter the moderation queue as normal once their account has been created. Third party applications will require minor updates to support this feature. Once your casual visitor has invested time in your community by crafting a post, they are much more likely to finish the registration to get it posted. If you have set up external log in methods, then registration only takes a few more clicks. This blog is part of our series introducing new features for Invision Community 4.4.
  15. Hailed as Bollywood's most prolific underdog-turned-mega-star, critically acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan is reportedly all set to return to the country post his cancer treatment in London. Last seen in the movie 'Karwaan' which released in August, Irrfan had given a miss to the movie's promotion, since he had to move to London for his treatment. Earlier this year in March, Irrfan had announced that he had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. Soon after, he left for London to undergo treatment for his condition. RSVP Movies However, reports have been circulating that the actor will be returning home post-Diwali after his treatment. It is also being suggested that Irrfan might start shooting for 'Hindi Medium 2' post his return, later this year. HT has quoted Irrfan's spokesperson as saying, “The story floating about Irrfan starting Hindi Medium 2 shoot in December are all based on speculations. However, there is a possibility of him returning to India after Diwali”. T-Series The update comes as a happy news for his fans and well-wishers who had been waiting to hear about the status of his recovery since the last statement, which had come out in August. Earlier in August Irrfan had said, “I've seen life from a completely different angle. You sit down and you see the other side and that's fascinating. I'm engaged on a journey”, after receiving four rounds of chemotherapy as part of his treatment. The diagnosis had forced Irrfan to back out from making an appearance in the Amazon series 'Gormint'. However, with this latest update, we can now look forward to watching him set the screen on fire once again.
  16. I have a question for everyone – The world will be such a better place if there was no hate and everyone just co-existed peacefully. No, I don't want to sound preachy, I'm just stating facts. And, to prove that point even further, here's a Facebook post by Sania Ahmad Hasan talking about how people being respectful and living in harmony is important. She starts off by saying she lives in Jamia Nagar in New Delhi, a place where a good percentage of the population is Muslim. She wrote, “I live in the predominantly Muslim area of Jamia Nagar in Delhi. There are a few Hindu families that live near my house though.” As everyone knows, Navratras just ended and how important it is to a lot of people. Her post further said, “In an area of mosques every few kilometres, there is a small temple for these families here. Nowadays, because of Navratras, the temple plays bhajans all day.” She went on to talk about the respectful and nice gesture from all the people there, that might be small, but means so much more. She said, “However, during each of the azaans, they pause the bhajans. On the other side, the Muslim meat shops near their houses put up a black curtain and sell their wares discreetly from behind it during these 9 nights, in respect of their fast and sentiments.” The last line, the conclusion and the proof of my first point – “The beauty of peaceful co-existence! Sigh!” It's a small story but every tiny thing matters and these gestures probably meant a lot to all the Muslim and Hindu people living in the area. The post has so many people appreciating the kind actions of people, and even asking more stories like this, so people can understand the importance of co-existence. Spread humanity! Yes. It's all about respect.
  17. Buses and cab services are meant for our convenience, but sadly, many of us think twice and sometimes thrice before sitting in them. At times, we even skip them for reasons that aren't hidden from anyone. On days when we do take cabs, the first thing our parents tell us is "Share the cab details with us" or "Send us the exact location." But, thanks to Santosh, a lot of people will now feel safer while calling for a cab. Pexels Santosh is an Uber driver, who just like any other ordinary cabbie was doing his job of dropping people to their desired location. But, the reason we're talking about him is extraordinary. It was around 1 AM when Santosh dropped a woman and her mother at their destination. When he realised that the gate to their residence was shut, he refused to leave them alone and waited with them for 1.5 hours until they got inside their house. The woman took to social media to thank him for his actions. hey @Uber_India , wanted to tell you about your driver Santosh. Last night the place we were staying had it's gate was closed. It was 1 AM. He refused to let us go & waited for 1.5 hours till we got in. Kudos to him. Mom and I eternally grateful pic.twitter.com/tIjz9n2A8O — Priyashmita Guha (@priyashmita) October 14, 2018 In fact, in her comments, the woman even mentioned how the passenger of his next ride was getting angry, but he said: "I am sorry but I cannot leave them." As a driver, it wasn't his job to wait and could have easily ended his trip and driven away. But, as a human, he did his job and we respect him for that. Honestly, he deserves more than a 5-star rating. However, Santosh isn't the only hero in our society who is out there protecting women. A few days ago, a Mumbai driver and conductor made the whole bus wait at 1.30 AM in the night, until one of the female passengers found an auto.

After many petitions being filed and questions being raised on just how secure it actually is, the Supreme Court decided to take things in its own hands and a verdict has been passed. 19. Just a month ago, Sonali Bendre posted a heartfelt note on her social media accounts, sharing the heart-breaking news with her fans that she has been diagnosed with cancer. But, she made sure to tell everyone that she's taking this battle head on and is getting the best treatment there is to better the condition. Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them. There is no better way to tackle this, than to take swift and immediate action. And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the immense outpouring of love and support I've received over the past few days, for which I am very grateful. I'm taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me. A post shared by Sonali Bendre (@iamsonalibendre) on Jul 3, 2018 at 11:46pm PDT She has been battling metastatic cancer and is currently in New York, where she is undergoing treatment for the same. She also occasionally posts on her Instagram with updates and shares her positive outlook in life, even when she's dealing with so much right now. In the words of my favourite author Isabel Allende, “We don't even know how strong we are until we are forced to bring that hidden strength forward. In times of tragedy, of war, of necessity, people do amazing things. The human capacity for survival and renewal is awesome.” The outpouring of love I've received in the last few days has been so overwhelming… and I'm especially grateful to those of you who shared stories of your experiences in dealing with cancer, whether it was your own or of loved ones. Your stories have given me an extra dosage of strength and courage, and more importantly, the knowledge that I'm not alone. Each day comes with its own challenges and victories and so for now, I'm taking this #OneDayAtATime. The only thing I'm trying to be consistent about is maintaining a positive outlook... literally #SwitchOnTheSunshine - it's my way of dealing with this. Sharing my journey is also part of this process... I can only hope it reminds you that all is not lost and that someone, somewhere understands what you're going through. ð¤ð Thank you @tomoarakawa for making this a chic transition from long to short! A post shared by Sonali Bendre (@iamsonalibendre) on Jul 10, 2018 at 12:20am PDT She's always shown appreciation for all the people she's surrounded with, all the people who want nothing else but for her to win this battle and come out stronger. From the moment he was born 12 years, 11 months and 8 days ago, my amazing @rockbehl took ownership of my heart. From then on, his happiness and wellbeing have been the centre of anything @goldiebehl and I ever did. And so, when the Big C reared its ugly head, our biggest dilemma was what and how we were going to tell him. As much as we wanted to protect him, we knew it was important to tell him the full facts. We've always been open and honest with him and this time it wasn't going to be different. He took the news so maturely… and instantly became a source of strength and positivity for me. In some situations now, he even reverses roles and takes on being the parent, reminding me of things I need to do! I believe that it's imperative to keep kids involved in a situation like this. They are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. It's important to spend time with them and include them, rather than make them wait on the side-lines, not being told yet instinctively knowing everything. In our effort to protect them from the pain and realities of life, we might end up doing the opposite. I'm spending time with Ranveer right now, while he's on summer vacation. His madness and shenanigans help me #SwitchOnTheSunshine. And today, we derive strength from each other #OneDayAtATime A post shared by Sonali Bendre (@iamsonalibendre) on Jul 18, 2018 at 11:29pm PDT As everyone knows, today is Friendship's Day, and if you have incredible friends, they'll come to celebrate with you, wherever you are in the world. Sussanne Khan, Gayatri Oberoi and Hrithik Roshan are those kinds of friends and Sonali shared a picture with them saying, “I am extremely grateful to my friends, my pillars of strength, who at a moment's notice, arrived to be with me and help me through this. In between their busy schedules they find time to visit, call, message, FaceTime... basically never leaving a moment for me to feel alone.” This is me. And in this moment, I am really happy. People give me strange looks when I say that now, but it's true and I'll tell you why. I am now paying attention to every moment, looking for every opportunity to find joy and #SwitchOnTheSunshine. Yes, there are moments of pain and low energy, but I am doing what I like, spending time with people I love, and feeling very loved and happy. I am extremely grateful to my friends, my pillars of strength, who at a moment's notice, arrived to be with me and help me through this. In between their busy schedules they find time to visit, call, message, FaceTime... basically never leaving a moment for me to feel alone. Thank you for showing me what true friendship is. #HappyFriendshipDay, ladies. Blessed to have you all in my life (including the ones not in the picture... 21. Rajinikanth's latest release 'Kaala' struggled to bring in audiences after the film met with polarized reception from both critics and audiences. Pa Ranjith, the director of both Rajinikanth films - 'Kabali' and 'Kaala', could not manage to bring the Thalaiva magic to the silver screen and as a result, the movies bombed. © Lyca Productions Now that Rajinikanth's next '2.0' directed by Shankar has already been postponed multiple times and is only expected to hit screens on 29 November 2018, everyone has one question on their mind - what does it mean after Kaala's lukewarm response? First things first, '2.0' seems to be a risky proposition for all involved as the budget of the film is Rs 550+ crores. But, why is it so, let us analyse. Multiple Delays The sequel to 'Robot' (Endhiran in Tamil) has been delayed primarily due to the massive amount of VFX work involved in the film. With a production budget of approximately Rs 550+ crores, '2.0' aims to be a different experience altogether given the present-day landscape of Indian cinema. The film is the first Indian film to be shot entirely in 3D. © Sun Pictures With multiple shift in release dates, we still do not know whether the film will release on 29th November 2018. If the film gets delayed further, it will surely lose a lot of money and steam by the time it actually hits the screens. Huge Investment And Distributor Issues With clouds of ambiguity hovering over the film's final release, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana distributors were seeking a refund of the distribution rights paid for the Telugu version of '2.0'. As per recent developments, the distributors have even initiated legal proceedings to recover the distribution rights paid in the range of Rs 90 crores to 120 crores. © Lyca Productions Such escalating issues around the film's delay only increase concerns over the recovery of the investment made by everyone associated with the project – be it the producers or distributors. Hurried Promotional And Marketing Strategy No matter how confident the producers Lyca Productions have been about the film, the major problem lies with their promotional and marketing strategy. It is said that a film is made in the editing room but the studio began to market the film even before the final product was in sight. © Lyca Productions In late 2017, Lyca Productions released a few songs from the A R Rahman composed album at a grand album launch event in Dubai along with promotional posters to keep the fans excited. With no proper release date in sight, this strategy too was highly criticised. Non-Holiday Release Every big production house eyes a perfect release date to recover the investment but a non-holiday release on 29th November 2018 seems to be quite confusing. Given that mega-budget films rely heavily on festive and national holidays to recover a huge part of their investment, a release date like this is extremely debatable since '2.0' is the most expensive Indian film to be ever made. © Lyca Productions Despite numerous issues around the film, what does such a huge project mean to Indian cinema? If one has seen the production footage released by Lyca Productions, it can be seen how Shankar is trying to push the boundaries of Indian cinema with this film by bringing new technology to the table. With such a huge budget, '2.0' should technically justify the sci-fi genre raising the standards of Indian cinema to a new level post the gigantic success of the 'Baahubali' duology. Also, Shankar's direction has always been top-notch and he surely knows how to handle multi-starrer films with high production values. Nevertheless, we hope that Shankar's '2.0' will not be affected by 'Kabali' or Kaala's box office performance and goes on to create history at the box office. For now, we can just be optimistic about the film's release as per schedule.
