  1. Mumbai Police has always had its Twitter game on point with its creative and witty tweets to spread awareness on social issues. The interesting thing is they use pop culture references and funny memes to put forth advisory messages which is, TBH, the best way to get people to actually listen. They are relatable and fun, and can even reach a larger audience. This time too they have done it right. Mumbai police has now used a reference from a popular web series, Dark, to send out an essential advisory message. It is basically a note of caution that everyone should follow to stay safe in the current situation, especially when the COVID-19 cases are increasing on a daily basis.Taking the creativity to another level, they shared an image with a message which contains a reference from the German science fiction thriller series Dark. Here, take a look: Question - Is it okay to share masks? Answer- Absolutely not. 6. For someone who was was cut from a football team and lived in Florida with only $7 in his pocket, Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as 'The Rock, has now become one of the most inspiring success stories for the youth. Born into a family of pro wrestlers, it was only a matter of time for Johnson to follow in the footsteps of his parents, but no one could have anticipated where the young lad would eventually reach in the years to come. © Reuters Making his debut in World Wrestling Federation (WWF), rechristened as WWE later, in 1996, the budding wrestler had his own share of struggles initially. But, under the tutelage of his idol Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, the youngster embarked on a journey that eventually took him to the pinnacle of pro wrestling. Winning his first WWF Championship in 1998, 'The Rock' played a key role in helping the WWF usher into the 'Attitude Era' - a boom period in the company's business in the late 90s and early 2000s which still holds professional wrestling records for TV ratings. In 2004, he left WWE to pursue an acting career and went on a seven-year hiatus before returning as a part-time performer in 2011. © Instagram He eventually announced his retirement from WWE for good in 2019 but by the time he was done, 'The Rock' had established himself as one of the greatest professional wrestlers and biggest draws of all-time. Today, he is not only a wrestling legend but also a successful actor, producer and businessman. With an estimated net worth of over $300 million, 'The Rock' has pretty much everything one can dream of. Thanks to his massive fanbase, he is also making an absolute killing on social media. According to the Instagram Richlist for 2019, the 47-year-old earns a whopping $882,000 (Rs 6,73,73,775) per post. 10. The dust doesnât seem to be settling around the storm brewed by Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor ever since she tested positive for COVID-19. The Baby Doll singer has since, been receiving a ton of backlash for being ânegligentâ and threatening the safety of people. However, in a new turn of events, Kanika Kapoor has decided to speak out against all the hate that is coming her way since her diagnosis yesterday. Speaking to TOI Kanika said, "I want to tell people that I'm not the irresponsible person I'm being made to look like." © Instagram Kanikais currently being kept in isolation at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, and she spoke at length about how none of this is her fault, to begin with. Instead, she believes the casual behaviour of the state health authorities should be questioned for her delayed diagnosis and quarantine. During the interview, Kanika shared that she was fully screened at the Mumbai airport upon her arrival in India on 9th March, and when no red flags were put out, she decided to come and stay with her parents in Lucknow. She even says that no government advisory for foreign-returned individuals had been issued at the time, and since she hadnât developed any symptoms and didnât know she had contracted the virus, she did attend a few parties. © Instagram Talking about the same, Kanika said that she never hosted a party but went to a small birthday bash which was attended by several politicians including Dushyant Singh. However, peopleâs nasty comments and weird allegations have been upsetting her thoroughly even when she claims she isnât the one to be blamed. © Instagram In her defence, Kanika said, âWhen I called the helpline numbers, after hearing out my symptoms, they said it doesn't seem like the Coronavirus, and it might just be the seasonal flu. But I kept insisting, and it was only after I pestered them that the CMO sent people to take my samples. I was the one who pestered the authorities, who I felt were taking things lightly. It took them three days to send someone to collect my sample and test it. From Monday till then, I had confined myself to my room. The moment I felt sick, I called up the authorities. So, tell me, whoâs been lax?" © Instagram She has even spoken out against the medical staff at SGPGIMS, claiming that not only is she being mistreated and threatened by the doctors for allegedly âwithholding informationâ, she is also being kept in a dirty room with flies-ridden food being served to her. She said, âI am being ill-treated here and it feels like Iâm in jail. They are behaving as if I am a criminal for no fault of mine.â Now we didnât see that coming. What are your thoughts on this? 11. With Indian cricket coming to a sudden halt and sports overall taking a massive hit due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus, two of the leading men from the modern era of Indian cricket, Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya decided to have some fun with their followers on Instagram recently. On Wednesday, the middle-order batsman shared a series of images from his social media handle, in the first of which he showed off a completely tattooed arm with an expensive watch wrapped around the wrist. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@shreyas41) This must have surprised a lot of Iyerâs fans as in all his previous images, the cricketer has had arms with no tattoos on them. It is only upon swiping to see the next picture that the reality presents itself. The second image shows the cricketer taking the same picture from a different angle and you could see that it was none other than Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya who hid behind Iyer and it was his arm that was tattooed from one end to the other. The third and final post of the series was a video in which the two athletes could be seen planning the whole thing and sharing a laugh as well. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@shreyas41)As two very important members of the Men in Blue, Iyer and Pandya have become really close friends and their chemistry is clearly visible both on and off the field. With the Indian Premier League which was scheduled to begin from next week, the two big hitters were looking forward to a month and a half of action-packed cricket in the twenty-over format of the game but it looks like they will have to wait for at least a couple of more weeks before the Covid-19 scare is over and the Indian league returns in full swing. 14. Jitendra Kumar aka âJeetuâ has been quite a popular face among millennials, thanks to his run with TVFâs shows and the sketches he did for the platform. Most of us have enjoyed his performances but very little is known about his journey ever since he stepped into the city of dreams and struggles, Mumbai. © TVF Taking his first step into the big world of cinema with Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Jitendra is trying to break stereotypes related to homosexuality with his upcoming movie. MensXP got a chance to meet him while he was promoting the movie with Ayushmann Khurrana, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta. View this post on InstagramLove Express jald hi sabhi theatres me pahuchegi.. apni tickets book kara lijiye..ð¤ð¤ #shubhmangalzyaadasavdhaan #favpictureA post shared by (@jitendrak1)Just before this interview happened, I actually texted him for the same and as fate had it, the very next day I got to meet him in the capital city. For those who donât know much about him, he is an engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, but he always nursed an inclination towards acting. So, everyone who has entered this industry comes with a story. On this note, I asked about his journey and how he landed shows with TVF. âEveryone has their own struggle story. Before moving to Mumbai, I had only acted in college theatre and I wasn't sure if people outside the college would like my work. I, firstly, wanted to give myself a reality check and see if people are actually ready to accept me. I was, in fact, quite lucky as back then TVF was at its height and I joined them. I did some videos and they started to get positive reactions,â he said. View this post on InstagramFollowing all the Directions by @shutter_keeda Cheesecake-days bts-1A post shared by (@jitendrak1)Talking about the struggle he endured, he added, âNow, I was sure that people are liking my craft and post this, it was time that I started reaching out to the big industry names and banners, which actually took time. I came to Mumbai in 2012 and now, it's 2020 so it took me 8 years to reach the big Bollywood makers.â If you have been a part of the creative field of acting, you might have an idea that it doesnât pay you initially so, out of sheer curiosity, I wanted to know how he managed his expenses in an expensive city like Mumbai. Jitendra, actually, feels quite lucky in this aspect as he had the tag of being an IITian, which helped him sail through crunch times when he didnât really earn much through acting. âThankfully, I am from IIT and that actually helped me with the finances as I started to take coaching sessions for Physics on Sundays and the rest 6 days, I used to act in TVF videos. My kharcha for a good two-to-three years was sorted because pehle acting ke paise nahi milte the. I have been lucky, actually, as the very first day I landed, I got to shoot a video with TVF that was out within one week and people started to react,â said Jeetu. © Jitendra Kumar Instagram The first thing that anyone hunts for when they move to a new city, is proper accommodation which makes you feel comfortable in the alien land. On this note, he added, âI wanted to stay in a good home in Mumbai because wo nahi milta toh I might have thought of going back. Thankfully, my friend's father had a flat in Mumbai so I requested him to let me stay in the house for lesser rent. I was lucky and people actually helped.â I wholeheartedly agree with this, as my profession also demanded me staying in Mumbai for a while and looking for comfortable accommodation was the ultimate deal. Furthermore into the conversation, I expressed that itâs actually quite surprising to see how he made his way into Bollywood through digital ventures, to which he had a very humble response. âSunne mein actually this is surprising but both the platforms are equally getting their own space. I can't really judge which is better. When we came, there was digital and it was TVF that actually started it. We came to do films as everyone wants to do a film as an actor but digital happened and made it big in that process. For me, it's a one up as I am finally getting to do a movie,â the actor stated. As a romantic comedy, the concept is fresh and entertaining. I wasn't nervous earlier, but now, as the movie is nearing its release date, I am feeling the jitters.â © Jitendra Kumar Instagram With Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan addressing a rather off-the-book topic, at least for Bollywood, like homosexuality, I asked him if he thinks Bollywood has actually evolved in terms of showing such aspects with more clarity and is it now celebrating homosexuality on the big screen. "Bollywood has always been accepting when it comes to homosexuality. We have been trying for a long time to portray this on the big screen. In my opinion, Bollywood has always been open about it but the audience has taken its due time. It was a criminal activity a few years ago. In fact, Article 377 ke hatne ke baad, people have started to talk freely. Addressing this particular parameter, I asked him if the movie would help a lot of Indians in coming out of the break the closet and accept their real selves. âI feel this movie would surely be helpful but it's all about the perceptions of the audience. If this movie works with the audience, I am positive about the fact that it will bring in the change as then I believe the actors won't have an issue even if they are homosexuals. Hopefully, this movie becomes the first step in normalizing homosexuality,â said Jeetu. It would be a sort of shock to the society but slowly and gradually, it would be accepted by the people. There is a kissing scene in the movie which people might have an issue with but it's a normal kiss between two people who are in love. I hope yeh logon ke normal lage.â © T-Series I, then, panned the conversation towards legalizing gay marriage in India and wanted to know his thoughts on the same. âAap jab bhi experienced logon se poochoge, what is marriage? they will say it's about companionship and friendship. I think your partner can be of any gender whom you are comfortable with. I feel (gay) marriages should be allowed and it's my personal take. To add, the only love which is unconditional is basically your mother's love to you and rest everything is just companionship, so the gender shouldn't matter,â he stated his take on the same. Itâs, obviously, not that easy for an actor to portray himself as a homosexual in his very first movie and as we have seen it, people do tend to stereotype, particularly in Bollywood. Is Jitendra scared of getting stereotyped? Well, he gave an honest answer, âI know jis tarah people see you for the first time, they start perceiving you that way but I believe, I hope aisa na ho iss movie ke saath as the movie is quite normal and I also hope they give me straight roles post this.â View this post on InstagramKartik-Aman ð³ï¸âð #shubhmangalzyadasaavdhan #filmfare2020ðâ¥ï¸ððððºA post shared by (@jitendrak1) Finally, after our serious conversation, I asked him about his familyâs reaction when he was approached for the role in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. On this, he told me, âMy family has been watching me with Gajraj sir for a long time now. I think jaise I got confirmed for the part, the news was out on all platforms and they got to know about it, they were family. For me, it's a romantic movie and everyone connects to such movies. It's every actor's dream to do one romantic movie. I was quite excited and whenever I am happy, my family automatically feels the vibe.â âEven if there are at some places my parents and I differ, they eventually feel the excitement. When I was stepping out of my hometown for action, they were initially scared but slowly, they started to like my work. I feel parents khush rehte hai when their children are happy. It's just the society they feel pressurized from,â added the actor. Before we ended our conversation, I wanted to know what are his takeaways from the movie. âWell, you obviously learn and yeh meri pehli film hai and pehla bada set tha. It was all the first time for me so I was understanding how a movie works. On the philosophical level, one day on the sets, I was thinking that everyone has issues with love. First, it was caste-related issues and it moved to religion being a problem in love. I feel the society has so many issues but everyone is concerned about creating issues in love. Why are we forgetting corruption, crime, global warming and more issues like these? I learnt that let people whosoever they actually want to,â Jitendra shared and signed off. All the best, Jitendra. Here is hoping the movie kills it at the Box Office and also leaves an impact on the masses. View the full article

  16. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tackled the biggest elephant in the room just hours ago as she presented the Union Budget for 2020-21. The Budget becomes crucial because it gives us an estimate of the expected expenditure of the government for the given period of time. But really, for people like you and me who do not want to get into the nitty-gritty of the Annual Budget, our leading concerns lay in how the proposed Budget is going to impact our lives immediately. Which is to say, how we may be profiting or failing to benefit from the proposed financial projections - what becomes cheaper, what becomes costlier and what becomes of our personal savings to put things very simply. © Twitter So, without beating around the bush anymore, letâs directly get to what it is that you are really here for. First off, your cigarettes are going to get costlier and so are other tobacco-based products. Additionally, medical equipment will also become more expensive due to higher taxes on imports. © Pexels Imported footwear and furniture will also burn a hole in your pockets, so we suppose many of us will be cutting corners when it comes to setting up our houses. Even the kitchen may not look as dapper as youâd imagine because customs duty on porcelain, clay iron, steel and copper has been doubled. © Pexels However, there is some relief to be found in the fact that the withdrawal of customs duty on raw sugar, agro-animal based products, Tuna bait, skimmed milk, specific alcoholic beverages, soya fibre and soy protein will bring their prices down. In addition to all that, Finance Minister Sitharaman also announced the lower tax slabs under a new income tax regime which has been the biggest highlight of the session. Though we are still not sure where the economy is headed post today, hereâs hoping we can make the most of whatâs been served. View the full article

If the allegations of domestic violence by his wife delayed his central contract, his fitness woes - mainly extra weight - halted his progress at the international level last year. But, Shami, like a true champion, overcame all of it. For someone who was India's leading fast bowler in the 2015 World Cup, Shami found himself out of the Indian ODI side as his recovery from an ankle surgery saw him gaining extra weight. But, rather than allowing his struggles to get the better of him, the 29-year-old used it as a source of motivation to return stronger. And that's exactly what happened. View the full article
