  1. Avengers... assemble, once again? Even though Anthony Russo said that he isn't focussing on beating 'Avatar' to become the highest grossing movie ever just yesterday, looks like he didn't get his story with Kevin Feige straight. The Marvel boss made a pretty big announcement about 'Avengers: Endgame'. The much-anticipated movie came out on April 26th and earned over $2.4 billion but that's not enough. The movie is getting re-released next week with a post-credit scene and some deleted scenes, according to Kevin Feige. Talking to Screen Rant, he said, “Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theatres with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there'll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.” Is the tribute for Tony Stark? Could be. Probably. While it's still not clear if it's getting released in India again, but it will be great if it does. We can watch it again just before the release of 'Spiderman: Far From Home' and then mourn Tony along with Peter Parker all over again. Also, James Cameron should start working on his post when 'Endgame' finally beats 'Avatar' since this re-release will probably give the Marvel movie the push it needs to race to the finish line.

  3. Winning two matches in as many outings, the Indian cricket team is undoubtedly in scintillating form in the ongoing ICC World Cup. Giving South Africa a run for their money and then, getting the better of Australia, the 'Men in Blue' are surely living up the reputation as one of the top contenders for the coveted title this year. But, after a fairly successful start in the tournament, the Indian team was dealt with a major blow after it was announced that Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out for about two to three weeks owing to a hairline fracture on his left thumb. After some nervy starts, the Indian opener rediscovered his form on the back of a match-winning knock of 117 runs against Australia. And, his injury surely comes as a setback for both himself and his team. © Reuters In a bid to fill the void left by his injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to fly in swashbuckling Rishabh Pant to England but it's still not clear if the youngster will actually get a chance to break into India's playing XI anytime soon. On the other hand, the BCCI is keeping close tabs on Dhawan, who has been given a week to prove his fitness. It all seems like a bad dream for the Delhi batsman who is one of the most successful batsmen for India (with six hundreds) in ICC tournaments, only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. He may be down, but surely not out (just yet) - something Dhawan highlighted in his recent post on social media. Kabhimehekkitarah hum gulon se udtehain... Kabhidhuyeinkitarah hum parbaton se udtehain... Ye kainchiyaanhumeinudne se khaakrokengi... Ke hum paron se nahinhoslon se udtehain...#DrRahatIndori Ji pic.twitter.com/h5wzU2Yl4H — ShikharDhawan (@SDhawan25) June 12, 2019 In an inspirational tweet, the 33-year-old shared a verse from Dr RahatIndori's poem, signalling his intentions. "Kabhi mehek ki tarah hum gulon se udte hain...Kabhi dhuyein ki tarah hum parbaton se udtehain...Ye kainchiyaan humein udne se khaak rokengi...Ke hum paron se nahin hoslon se udte hain...#DrRahatIndori Ji," Dhawan tweeted. While fans hope Dhawan recovers in time to lead the charge for his team, Virat Kohli-led India will be eager to continue their fine run when they lock horns with New Zealand at Trent Bridge on 13th June.
  4. There's always an urge to follow a grooming routine when you have a day off or while relaxing. We get it! But when it comes to giving your skin a chance to glow post workout, you generally tend to skip it, assuming the routine will take longer. Our guide will help you elevate your post workout regimen so you don't perspire during your boardroom meetings. Get ready to be the savvy gym-goer, right away! 1. Wash Your Face With A Mild Cleanser © Getty Images A meticulous workout session may make you proud, but for your skin, that's not the case. Sweating is a way to detox but when it mixes with the dead cells, your pores could get clogged. Don't be the guy who doesn't care and use a gentle face wash to steer clear of the oily skin and blackheads. 2. A Quick Body Cleanse © Getty Images That worked up sweat now needs a heavy duty shower gel. Use a vitamin packed body wash to hydrate and refresh your body. Invest in a good foaming option that helps you get rid of the stink and lets you stride with a good whiff. 3. Wash Your Hair © Getty Images Using a shampoo post workout sesh is vital, but in case it means you have to lather your hair again within 24 hours, we suggest you go for a dry shampoo. Shampooing often can take away the natural oils. A dry shampoo is a quick fix to steer clear of the odour and grime. 4. Don't Overdo Your Hair © Getty Images As tempting as a hair gel can look, applying too much can mess up your hairstyle. Take a pea sized amount and work it on your hair for a natural look. 5. Do Not Shave © Getty Images It is advised to not let the blades come in contact with your skin post workout sesh as it's quite sensitive at this time. If you have a date night or a meeting, remember to shave a day before. Lack of time means cuts and bruises and we don't want that. 6. Moisturise Your Skin © Getty Images We all need a skin nourishing cream to tackle dryness. And not just your face, but all the drying regions like elbows, knees, heels - need hydration. A quick massage with a lotion will leave you with a lasting fragrance, plus relaxation. 7. Slather Some Sunscreen © Getty Images Basking in the sun has become a part of your life, but not shielding your skin will damage it. Head out applying an SPF 30 sunscreen and use it as a part of your daily routine. 8. Look Good, Smell Fresh © Getty Images Finally, the last step to not reek of disgusting odour is by using a fresh cologne, sprayed on the pulse points. Remember, less is more!
  5. If you haven't seen the swan song of 'Game of Thrones', you probably shouldn't read ahead. With Stark children in all their 'rightful' places that in a way defines closure for them as characters, we now know that they're doing something they've had intentions of before but never got around doing because of circumstances. Like how Jon once said to Ygritte that he wanted to wander around sans responsibility. He's doing that, in the end, considering no one needs a Night's Watch anymore. And Arya is off for another adventure, something she once mentioned during her time in Braavos. © HBO Arya once asked, "Essos is East. Westeros is West, but what's West of Westeros?" A question no one in Westeros can answer because that's where all the maps end. No one really knows. With the White Walkers dead, and the Mad Queen murdered, there's really no action left in Westeros. They're going to try and rebuild the city and the damage a dragon and his mother had caused. But sedentary life was never made for Arya. She's already declined Gendry's proposal because that's not her. But here's the thing, after wrapping up a successful series like 'Game of Thrones', HBO is open to the idea of spin-offs, one of which is already in the making. But here's a spin-off we wouldn't mind watching: Arya the Adventurer and her explorations of a world beyond Westeros. Arya mentioned back in Season 6 to Lady Crane that no one knows what's West of Westeros. So she created her own Stark fleet with a Stark sigil atop. Fans have requested for the spin-off on her extended storyline and honestly, it makes sense. Unlike the show, the books do provide a little information about what's West of Westeros. Like Daenerys, Arya will have to cross the Sunset Sea. According to the 'Wiki of Ice and Fire', the Sunset Sea contains animals like swordfish, seals and whales but no one has ever successfully crossed this sea, according to Martin. Somewhat fittingly, the last person to try was another King Bran Stark — Brandon the Shipwright from the North. But he was never heard of again. But now we know Arya is made differently. She can survive this and that would make for a brilliant story that we'd love to hear.
  6. Anthony J. Russo and Joseph Vincent Russo are the people who have been the nerdy yet fantastic brains behind the process of taking the amalgamated Marvel Cinematic Universe to the next level of epic-ness when they were given the responsibility of making one of the most important characters of the MCU likable again with 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'. So it is safe to say that the two bros know exactly what they were doing during the events of 'Avengers: Endgame'. They even shot multiple endings to continue to keep the cast and crew confused about the real manner in which the film would conclude just to avoid leaks and spoilers. Having said that, they were themselves confused between two endings in particular but finally decided to go ahead with the one that we got to see in the theatres (hopefully). In the official ending, Tony Stark takes away the Infinity Stones from Thanos, puts them in the Infinity Gauntlet of his own and snaps his fingers to decimate the Mad Titan and the rest of his Chitauri army. Overwhelmed with the Stones, Stark suffers irreversible damage while protecting trillions of others spread around the universe and peacefully passes away amidst Peter Potts, Peter Parker and the rest of his closest buddies. However, according to the details disclosed by the Russo brothers recently, the alternate ending would have taking Stark's consciousness to the 'Soul Stone' realm after the snap, just like Thanos did at the end of Infinity War and met a young Gamora. There, Stark would have met his an adult version of his daughter, Morgan Stark, played by '13 Reason Why' star, Katherine Langford who would have forgiven him for taking the lives of Thanos and his army because it was done to protect the rest of the universe. According to the directors, the scene would have complicated the movie for the audience furthermore and they wanted to shoot Iron Man's final scene with faces the audience was already familiar with, in order to make it more emotional and personal instead of Langford, whom people would have seen for the very first time in the MCU. Having said that, the fact that the Russo Bros cared so deeply about the character of a grown up Morgan suggests a very interesting theory about the post credit scene of Endgame. After the credits roll over the screen, we get to hear the sound of someone hammering metal. This is the exact sound bite from the very first Iron Man movie when Stark makes his very first suit, the Mark 1, to get out of the hands of the terrorist group known as Ten Rings. Now, according to the Russo brothers, the idea of putting this sound bite at the end came directly from Kevin Feige, who is probably the only constant member of the MCU who worked from behind-the-scenes in every movie made by Marvel. Maybe, Feige wanted to hint the audience about the possibility of the return of Iron Man during Phase 4 of the MCU, but not with Tony Stark as the person inside the suit, but with his daughter, Morgan Stark. Maybe, this is why the Russo brothers also wanted to introduce Katherine Langford's character into the MCU at the end of Phase 3 so that the people know who to cheer for when she dons a badass suit, swooping past her fellow Avengers on an AC/DC song, just like her father used to.
  7. On the morning of 29th April 2019, Australia's renowned all-rounder cricketer James Faulkner uploaded an image from his Instagram profile on the occasion of his birthday. © Instagram - James Faulkner In his caption, the Aussie wrote: “Birthday dinner with the boyfriend @robjubbsta and my mother @roslyn_carol_faulkner... #togetherfor5years” As soon as the image was made public, the world took to Instagram, Twitter and the rest of social media in congratulating the former international cricketer for 'coming out', taking this post as Faulkner's way of opening up about his homosexuality. The former international-level cricketer was even greeted by ex-teammates for 'gathering enough courage' to finally let the world know about his sexual orientation. While all-rounder Glenn Maxwell commented: “Happy birthday mate! Great courage,” Australian rules footballer, Dale Thomas wrote: “Well done brother, so happy for you both.” By the time the sun set Down Under, Faulkner realised that his post had sent out a wrong message to his followers on the internet and he felt the need to clarify that he was not gay and that the 'boyfriend' post was a “joke” that was “taken out of context”, as reported by Cricket Australia (CA) last night. In statements released by both, CA and the cricketer, it was clarified that the “boyfriend”, Rob Jubb, was, in fact, a long-time best friend-turned-business partner of Faulkner's and that was the only relationship they shared. The athlete, who turned 29 yesterday, uploaded another picture from his Instagram profile, clarifying all the misunderstanding: View this post on Instagram There seems to be a misunderstanding about my post from last night, I am not gay, however it has been fantastic to see the support from and for the LBGT community. Let's never forget love is love, however @robjubbsta is just a great friend. Last night marked five years of being house mates! Good on everyone for being so supportive. 8. Rahul Sharad Dravid, the man who is hated by literally zero per cent population of the world, is someone who has seldom raised his voice about any agenda in public. Time and again, he has proven his worth, first as one of the most sturdy cogs of the Indian cricket team, then as a rock-solid batsman at the crease and finally, as the fine coach of the junior Indian cricket team. It was behind the invaluable guidance and experience of Mr Dependable himself, that the country's 'second-tier squad' known as Team India A was able to dominate versus the visiting England Lions in a five-match one-day series in January 2019. Not to forget the young Prithvi Shaw-led Under-19 squad that lifted the 2018 ICC U-19 World Cup and later, the 2018 Asia Cup championship, which also came during the tenure of the Indore-born cricketing marvel. Credit: Reuters Having said that, his innocence has been taken for granted time and again, giving him a setback every time it was his moment to be recognised for his efforts and get rewarded. First, with not being appointed as the head coach of the Men in Blue and the post being given to Ravi Shastri, once Anil Kumble had resigned, and now with the whole National Cricket Academy (NCA) issue brimming. As the month of April began, Dravid made headlines for being the one and the only choice for the post of Head Coach of the Bengaluru-based institution, which is loaded with the state of the art technology and all the other provisions to produce the best crop of Indian cricketers for the future of the game in the nation. "Rahul has been handling junior cricket for a while now and the results have been phenomenal. It's only natural that he had to get involved with affairs at the NCA (in the present position). Now, he's determined to bring about a complete turnaround at the academy. With the kind of vision he has, it's already a given now that this is his role until he decides to stay,” Times of India had quoted an informed official, back in the day. Now, however, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to not go ahead with that plan and instead requires Dravid to “apply” for the job just like all the new candidates, the Board has in mind. Sure, according to BCCI officials, Dravid is “obviously a favourite for the role” as reported by TOI, but this is nothing more than an insult to 'The Wall' and his legacy. Credit: Reuters Why does Dravid need to send in his resume? Well, apparently, the Board realised that in the past few years, they have had the misfortune of directly appointed some questionable personnel for high-level jobs and their inability to hold the positions has caused them huge disappointments. In order to prevent something like that from happening, they have decided to carry out the process of the typical CV-based appointments. The only silver lining may be the fact that once his tenure as the head coach of the Indian cricket team is over, even Ravi Shastri must apply for the position once again in order to get the job. *Phew*
  9. For the first time in the history of the Indian Army, women will now be welcomed in an absolutely new role. The Indian Army recently issued an advertisement in the newspaper for recruiting women soldiers in the military police and this is a big step ahead for womankind in India. Three months ago, the government announced that women will be inducted in the force in the 'Personnel Below Officer Rank' (PBOR) category. The registrations online have already begun for inducted women as jawans in the corps of military police. This is certainly being seen as a breakthrough in the force as in simple terms, women were earlier only inducted as officers and now they'll be inducted as soldiers! © ANI According to the given advertisement, the application window for recruitment for soldier general duty will close on June 8th and we hope a number of applicants apply in the next one month. For the first time, Indian Army to start online registration of women for recruitment as soldiers into the military police, today. The project was mooted by General Bipin Rawat soon after taking over as Army Chief and given final approval by the Defence Ministry recently. pic.twitter.com/nIssIN62zX — ANI (@ANI) 25 April 2019 The project was first mooted by Bipin Rawat, the Army Chief General as soon as he took charge of the force. While the process follows a stringent protocol, the decks for induction were cleared in January 2019 after Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharam announced that the government has taken a historic decision to induct women in the military police and their roles would include investigating crime cases of rape and molestation and assisting the Army in field operations whenever required. Last year, Rawat had said that the process to allow women in combat was moving steadfastly and accordingly the Army chalked out induction of approximately 800 women in the military police. © ANI Currently, women in the Army are allowed in areas such as medical, educational, legal and engineering wings. The main role of women in military police will be to take charge of logistics during peace and war, handling prisoners of war and maintaining movements of soldiers. The Corps of Military Police is responsible for preserving "good order and discipline and to prevent breaches of the same by persons serving in or attached to the regular Army", the Army says on its website. © Better India This is a really empowering step for womankind in the country, as it works on the fabric of equality between the sexes and we're nothing short of grateful it has finally been incorporated!
  10. It doesn't matter how many times you fall until you have the courage to get up and going again, and the same formula applies to the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in this year's Indian Premier League. Despite losing six matches in a row, RCB is showing signs of improvement by winning three games out of the last four. With RCB having a one-in-a-million chance of qualifying for the playoffs, they have to make sure they win all of their remaining matches. King Kohli took a sigh of relief when they earned another two points by defeating the table-toppers Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by one run. Regardless of an outstanding knock of 84 by the 'Thallaiva' MS Dhoni himself, the wounded Challengers did manage to seize a win from CSK's mouth. From hugging each other in 2009 to the right arm pacer scooping Chiku after the celebration of Suresh Raina's wicket, the bromance between both still remains intact. Kohli showed a collage of his picture with the South-African pacer calling it a “ten-year challenge,” by adding that Steyn looks the same and that he has changed a lot over the years. They further went on to praise each other for all the achievements and accolades. View this post on Instagram Delighted to have Steyn back in the team - Virat Kohli . 11. MacKenzie Bezos, the woman who became the world's third richest woman overnight. Well, not quite. MacKenzie had been married to Amazon founder and world's richest man Jeff Bezos for the last 26 years, which made them the richest couple in the world. So, the woman had been rich, as well as a billionaire even before Jeff and MacKenzie parted ways and headed for what would turn out to be the 'world's most expensive divorce'. (c) Twitter Earlier today, MacKensie announced that post her divorce, she now owns company shares that are worth over 35 billion dollars, or over Rs 24 lakh crore, which sure made her a whole lot richer overnight. While Jeff Bezos has been always making news every other day, MacKenzie had stayed out of the spotlight for most part, until today. Here is everything we know about her. She's A Celebrated Novelist (c) Twitter MacKenzie is a noted American novelist, who won an American Book Award for her debut novel 'The Testing of Luther Albright' (2005). MacKenzie started writing at an early age and had even written a 142-page book as a 6-year-old. She studied Creative Writing at Princeton University and has authored two novels till date, 'The Testing of Luther Albright' and 'Traps'. Nobel Prize Winning Author Toni Morrison Called Her “One Of The Best Students” (c) Twitter In 1992, Nobel Prize winner author Toni Morrison took MacKenzie as a research assistant for her novel 'Jazz', while the latter was studying at Princeton. In an interview with Vogue, Morrison said that Bezos was "one of the best students I've ever had in my creative-writing classes ... really one of the best." She reportedly also found a literary agent for MacKenzie. Jeff Bezos & MacKenzie's Love Story Jeff and Mackenzie first met when Jeff was interviewing for the position of administrative assistant at the hedge fund D.E. Shaw & Co. in New York. MacKenzie happened to be the first interviewee for the role, which she had taken up to pay the bills while she worked on her novels. At the time, MacKenzie was 23, and Jeff 30. (c) Twitter In an interview with Vogue in 2013, she told the magazine, “My office was next door to his, and all day long I listened to that fabulous laugh. How could you not fall in love with that laugh?” Within months of their first date, the couple got engaged and eventually married in 1993. She Played A Pivotal Role In Amazon's Launch (c) Twitter It is said that when Jeff and MacKenzie first moved to Seattle to launch Amazon in 1994, MacKenzie worked as one of the company's first accountants. She even used to ship early order, besides handling many other aspects of the company. Once the brand found its footing, she stepped back and began focusing on her writing. The Jeff & MacKenzie Bezos Family (c) Twitter Jeff and MacKenzie have three sons and a daughter who were adopted by the couple from China. To this day, Jeff and MacKensie are very private about this aspect of their life. MacKenzie once told Vogue magazine that she and Jeff are hands-on parents and experiment with various parenting and education techniques. “We tried all sorts of things, including off-season travel, kitchen-science experiments, chicken incubation, Mandarin lessons, the Singapore math program, and lots of clubs and sports with other neighborhood kids,” she was quoted as saying by the magazine. pic.twitter.com/OJWn3OOLS6 — MacKenzie Bezos (@mackenziebezos) April 4, 2019 However, today MacKenzie has officially parted ways with her ex-husband. While the announcement stated that they would “continue our shared lives as friends,” the final divorce settlement, which was finalised earlier today, hasn't come at a marginal cost. As per Forbes, with $35 billion in her bank account, MacKenzie Bezos is now world's third-richest woman after divorce. All in all, MacKenzie Bezos would be the world's 26th richest person after her expensive divorce from Jeff Bezos.
  12. MS Dhoni is the 'coolest' captain the Indian cricket team has ever had. And literally so. Boy, can the man keep calm under duress or what? The former Indian skipper even holds a number of epithets along the same lines, such as 'Captain Fantastic' and 'Mr. Iceman', apart from the most popular one, 'Captain Cool'. © Twitter However, today people on Twitter are chanting his name for an entirely different reason and one that is truly heartwarming. We all know how passionate Dhoni is about cricket, which obviously extends to his love for his Indian Premier League team, Chennai Super Kings and its supporters. © Twitter So, last evening, after the match with Mumbai Indians came to an end, Dhoni met up with one such special fan patiently, who was rooting for him and cheering the team from the stands. The fan is special because she is an elderly woman who was seen gracing the stands during the match, holding a placard that read, “I am here only for Dhoni.” Captain cool, @msdhoni humble ð Heartwarming to see this gesture from the legend in Mumbai ð¤@ChennaiIPL #VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/6llHlenIzL — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) April 4, 2019 Captain Cool not only interacted with his die-hard, elderly fan with humility and affection, but also clicked selfies with her, and presented her with an autographed CSK jersey! 13. While depression isn't an easy condition to deal with, we have a lot of people coming forward and talking about it openly. This not only helps others who are going through it, to accept it and deal with it, but also normalises the whole philosophy behind depression, which in most cases is seen as a regressive state to go through, in society. © Twitter The most progressive stance though has been taken by celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Honey Singh and even Justin Bieber, who have openly talked about going through depression and experiencing every nuance of it and crossing the gripping hurdle one day at a time. Very recently, singer Armaan Malik revealed his battle with depression as well and said he was heavily inspired by singer Justin Beiber's posts on depression, on social media to face his own internal issues and come and talk about them, openly. Armaan also talked about efforts he was making towards rectifying his mental health and how he will never give up on it. © Twitter In a recent Tweet he said: “I've always been honest about my feelings in general so yes I'VE NOT BEEN OK for a while now & I know my fans have been worried about me. I resonated a lot with Justin's recent post where he said he's battling a lot of internal issues” I've always been honest about my feelings in general so yes I'VE NOT BEEN OK for a while now & I know my fans have been worried about me. But just wanna tell all of you, I have been super patient, I've tried my best to be positive & that's what has gotten me through a lot of my low phases.” I have been too and it's not easy coz even if you have people you love around you, you need to sort out stuff YOURSELF!! Let's all be strong together ðð¼ — ARMAAN MALIK (@ArmaanMalik22) 26 March 2019 Which was a very helpful Tweet, might I add, considering a lot of people today are undergoing mental health issues and aren't very sure how to bring them up, without falling under the trap of it being a social taboo. Armaan's fans also came forward in his support for speaking up on such a crucial matter. We're very glad Armaan came forward to openly admit and talk about depression and we wish and pray everything works out well for him!
  14. A few days ago, Netflix teased us with a post that something big is going to happen in 14 days. Netflix tweeted, "Calendar nikaal. Tareekh likh le. 14 din mein kuch bada hone wala hai." This one tweet was enough to send all the 'Sacred Games' fans in a frenzy and giving them sleepless nights wondering if season 2 of 'Sacred Games' is finally dropping. Calendar nikaal. Tareekh likh le. 14 din mein kuch bada hone wala hai. — Netflix India (@NetflixIndia) March 19, 2019 Today, just a few minutes ago, they dropped another major bomb on all the fans in a series of cryptic posts. If there's anything more powerful than "Sab marenge sirf Trivedi bachega", it is this announcement, "Bolo 'Aham Brahmasmi.' 6 din mein sab kuch dikhayi dene lagega." © Netflix If you look closely, you might realise that there's a major hint hidden in the post, about the second season that all Gaitonde fans are desperately waiting for. There are four pictures and each one have titles like Bidalah-A-Gita, Katham Asti, Antara Mahavana and Unagamam. So MAYBE, there will only be four episodes in the season, but we aren't sure about it. All these cryptic posts and our increasing excitement make us wonder that "Kabhi Kabhi lagta hai Netflix hi bhagwan hai."
  15. On March 15, the prayers of the worshippers at a Christchurch mosque turned into screams, after a gunman mercilessly opened fire and killed nearly 50 people. This was, like Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said, "one of New Zealand's darkest days". Since then, the whole nation has come together as one, to mourn the loss of the people killed in the attack and wipe the tears of their family members. Reuters Post the attack, PM Jacinda Ardern has been standing in solidarity with the Muslim community and Ardern even said "We are one" in one of the interviews post the attack. Ardern is being hailed as a hero across the world for standing together with the victims and their families and for tightening gun laws in the country. Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building in Dubai, too honoured her by lighting up with a photo of Ardern in a hijab hugging a woman after the Christchurch shootings. Reuters UAE Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to Twitter to thank PM Jacinda Ardern and wrote, "New Zealand today fell silent in honour of the mosque attacks' martyrs. 16. Earlier this February, Atletico Madrid had bolstered their chances of progressing in UEFA Champions League following a stunning 2-0 triumph over Juventus in the first-leg of their Round of 16 clash at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium. Two late goals from their centre-backs had given Atleti a significant lead before their trip to Turin for the second-leg clash. If manager Diego Simeone's animated celebration at the touchline highlighted what the first-leg triumph meant to them, the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo's threat was carefully nullified by Atletico, put the Portuguese's Champions League reign in jeopardy. But, three weeks later, what eventually unfolded at the Allianz stadium, cannot be described in words. With their back against the wall, Juventus pulled off one of the spirited fightbacks in the history of the European competition. Trailing 0-2 (on aggregate), Massimiliano Allegri's men blanked the visitors 3-0 to the sheer joy of a packed Allianz stadium crowd. And, if Juventus' turnaround allowed them to fire warning shots to their rivals, the five-star performance of Ronaldo, once again, reminded everyone why he considered one of the all-time greatest to have blessed the game. © Reuters Juventus' 99-million-pound summer signing lived up to his billing with a remarkable hat-trick which sent the home fans into delirium. A stunning header in the 27th minute, another one in 49th minute and a calm finish from the spot-kick in the 86th minute allowed Ronaldo to enter Juventus folklore on the back of yet another sensational performance in Europe's biggest competition. While Ronaldo's 'Herculean show' single-handedly allowed Juventus to overturn their deficit from the first-leg and progress further in the tournament, it also brought his own girlfriend to tears in the stands as she watched her partner script a sensational turnaround for his team. Georgina Rodriguez, who was accompanied by Ronaldo's son Cristiano Jr, looked content after watching her partner score from two headers in the match. But, her excitement, akin to the fans in the stands, reached an all-time high after Ronaldo slammed the penalty past Jan Oblak to win the tie for Juventus. Georgina Rodriguez cried in audienceð Glad to be a family together! On the other hand, Cristiano Jr was seen celebrating wildly after watching his father complete his hat-trick on a night that will be hard to forget for both Juventus and Atletico fans. Sharing a picture of a young Ronaldo posing in a football kit, Rodriguez's message in Spanish loosely translates to: "This 3-0 nobody steals it. You deserve it, not for the three goals tonight. You deserve it for your dedication, for what you get in the club where you are. You are a trailer for your teammates, coach and everyone we admire and support every day. Karma exists. God knows, God gives it to you, because the world of soccer is yours. WE LOVE YOU. Cristianito, Mateo, Eva, Alana, Georgina". To put things in perspective, Ronaldo has now scored 124 goals and continues to remain Champions League's all-time top-scorer. He has also claimed eight hat-tricks in the history of the European competition. For someone who has won the European Cup four times in the last five years, Ronaldo is now gaining ground to claim his sixth Champions League title (having won one with Manchester United in 2008).
  17. Indian men have gone through layers of conditioning before they finally fell into a layer that made them the men they are today. As vague as that statement sounds, it holds true for an India post the #MeToo movement. Every man I meet nowadays is either talking about how to respect women better or be their 'knight in shining armour'. Truth be told, women don't really need a knight in shining armour as much as they need equality from their men. Be it their partners, they're subordinates, they're mentors, teachers, colleagues, or even their boss, women seek equality in terms of varying thought processes and of course actions. (c)Twitter While delving further into this, I came across research hosted by a popular dating app called OkCupid, talking about how men have evolved in the way they submit to their thoughts and actions in society and how perspectives have truly changed where they're concerned. The research throws light on a gentle evolution of how, post the #MeToo movement, men have a fair insight into a woman's perpetual struggle in society and helping them link ties and making things equal is something they're honouring more and more every day. Here are 3 things that have evolved for men post the #MeToo movement and we hope this Women's Day, all women realise they're not alone: (1) A Blunt Understanding Of Feminism There are, and there always will be a few men, who either don't care about feminism, are indifferent towards it, or who completely disagree with it. But there are also a lot of them who're changing their perspective on what feminism is essentially and have supported the cause as much as they're supporting the movement. Apart from subjective connotations for feminism, almost 87% of men believe feminism is 'equality between both the genders'. This perspective has helped enhance the solemn trajectory of how women are treated in certain spaces by the male population and it's certainly an improvement. (c)Twitter (2) Being House Husbands & Homemakers A lot of men, about 88% of them, according to research by the app, are offering to share equal responsibilities with the women, around the house. Be it cleaning or cooking or even taking care of the kids, men are more acceptable about changing roles and taking up something more or equally challenging. A lot of men have taken up to being 'house husbands' if their wives are in successful jobs, which demand long hours from them. This phenomenal acceptance in running the household along with the woman is a welcoming change for sure. (c)Eros International (3) Men Stand-Up For Work Place Harassment About 86% of the population is very much against workplace harassment. Since #MeToo had a big part to play in overall sexual harassment, men became more wary and sensitive about it, especially at places where they'd spend the maximum number of hours. A more vigilant and tolerant attitude was donned by most men around harassment in general and if they're the true watchdogs and a beacon of hope for maintaining peace and security, women shouldn't have much to worry about, especially at workplaces. (c)Pintrest These evolving attitude changes donned by most men is a defining strength for our democracy. With about 81% of the men coming forward in support of the #MeToo movement, we've seen the evolutionary balance become a lot steadier and men become a lot more understanding and tolerant. So, if you're a man and you're reading this article, maybe realise that your own brothers around you are wilfully looking for a change and change is happening, according to this research. So, maybe try and partake in this positive change and build a safe, happy and just society, together.
  18. When legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly said, “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that” he really meant it. So, it's quite often that we see a game as small as a Sunday League one, turn into an emotionally charged affair. With tackles flying in, passionate running and heart wrenching moments, a footballer is always fighting for something more than three points. This turns to be true for every football fan as well. Frequently considered as the '12th man' of a team, football without fans would be just eleven men kicking the ball around. However, being a fan comes at a cost. Despite the sheer agony and pleasure that one feels at the special Champions League nights and at the weekends, the dark side of the game does rear its ugly head sometimes. After witnessing the historic comeback of his beloved Manchester United in Paris, a Red Devils' fan was stabbed in the chest by a taxi driver and is undergoing emergency surgery. The 44-year old fan was travelling back to the city centre with three other supporters. Angered by their celebrations, the taxi driver threatened a female passenger with a 'large blade' before turning on a male passenger and stabbing him, leaving him to fight for his life. A man was arrested by local police in connection with the incident, but no weapon has been recovered. We understand football is not 'just a game' but this guy went way too far. Actions like these are appalling and a disgrace to mankind. We wish the victim a speedy recovery and hope UEFA & FIFA will make joint efforts in order to ensure the safety of travelling fans in future.
  19. Post the deadly Pulwama terror attack, the entire country is left in a state of horror and shock. Over 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives and we're still trying to put the pieces together, all across the country, not sure if they'll fit anymore. But an international humanitarian organisation by the name of 'Khalsa Aid' and some local Gurudwaras and individual Sikhs helped the Kashmiri population who were trying to escape vigilante mob attacks all across the country and we know for sure there is still some faith left in humanity. © Twitter The organisation gave protection, food and shelter to many stranded Kashmiris and helped them reach back safe to their homes in Kashmir. The violence erupted all over North India where many Kahsmiri students were being attacked in retaliation to the attack on the 14th of February and with the help of Khalsa Aid, they've all made it back home safe. © Twitter As a mark of gratitude and in order to thank the Sikh communities, the Kashmiris have now expressed their love for the Sikhs for helping them out in times of need and have offered free services to the Sikhs, namely medical treatments and education and free snow bike rides in Gulmarg. © Twitter So much so, a cartoon caricatured by a Kashmiri cartoonist by the name of Suhail Naqshbandi has gone viral on social media. All the Hrithik fans are truly geared up to watch him play Anand's character. © Viacom18 Motion Pictures The film though has a slight twist of faith, in a good, reckoning way though! The film ran in to trouble recently when director Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual misconduct by two women and became a part of the #MeToo movement. Soon after, the makers of the film decided to ask him to leave the project in order to preserve the sanctity of the film. Since then, the movie does not seem to have a director and its release has been delayed. Earlier it was supposed to release on the 25th of January but now it's scheduled to release on the 26th of July. © Twitter As soon as Vikas was shown the exit door, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas's former partner from now dissolved Phantom Films took over the project and is overseeing the post production of the film. In fact, Shibasish Sarkar, group CEO of Reliance Entertainment, revealed that the film will have no directorial credit whatsoever. "Vikas is not associated with the edit and post-production. There will be no director credit for anyone. As a producer, after substantial investment of time, money and the efforts of all our technicians and talent, it is our responsibility to complete the film with the best possible resources available to us. Anurag is a partner, he has edited films of other Phantom partners in the past. He agreed to take this responsibility on Reliance's request, and with a professional and commercial understanding. Also, it has been agreed that he will not take any credit," the CEO told a popular publication. The film is being produced by Reliance Entertainment and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. © Twitter After the #MeToo movement hit Bollywood, a number of celebrities and producers, directors, and musicians were brought into the limelight on grounds of sexual misconduct and harassment. The Indian cricket team is a fraternity, a brotherhood based on hours of working out and practising together every day, celebrating the highs, and crying over the lows of the team together as family. But that won't stop the interim skipper Rohit Sharma from trying to pull his fellow teammate and friend Yuzvendra Chahal's leg as soon as he gets a chance to do so. And that's exactly what Sharma did after ODI series against New Zealand ended in favour of India with a final score, 4-1. 23. Arguably one the biggest and most prestigious football clubs in the world, Arsenal is currently evolving under the structure of new coach Unai Emery, who replaced long-serving Arsene Wenger last year. The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager has struck a chord with the fans and continues to strive for the club's success. However, the recent times are proving to be really tough for the Gunners and their fans. Their chase to finish in the top four was dealt with a major blow after the likes of Hector Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny and Sokratis Papastathopoulos were recently injured. Moreover, their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup on 26th January also dampened the mood in the Arsenal camp. But, just when you thought their troubles were over, the Gunners and their fans found a new one thanks to Esha Gupta - the Arsenal club ambassador. Instagram/@egupta The Bollywood actress, who earlier dated Bellerin, stirred up a storm after a Whatsapp conversation with her friend surfaced on social media. The social media was abuzz and football fans up in arms as a snapshot of her conversation compared Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi to a gorilla. Instagram/@egupta Following the Gunners' FA Cup loss to United, the 33-year-old shared a screenshot of her conversation with a friend on Instagram as one of her stories. "Solves our winger issues. I can't see that gorilla faced Iwobi running down the flank again. He's so bad ya," her friend wrote. To which, Esha replied: "Hahahahahaha...I honestly dunno why they don't bench him more". The former Miss India International winner deleted the post, but the fans were not impressed by the antics of their club ambassador. Following a lot of backlash on the social media, Esha issued an apology, but it was a tad too late to undo the damage. Guys m sorry you thought it was racist. But this is not something m proud of. It was a fault, sorry guys," she wrote in another tweet. But, Arsenal fans were in no mood to forgive as they slammed the actress for her "ignorance" and called her out for being a "racist". Your response is embarrassing! You state on one hand you've suffered racism yet on the other have no idea that you've made a racial slur! Your ignorance and arrogance of this whole situation is beyond words! Please remove gooner from your profile! Your not part of our club/family — Keiron Batchelor (@keiron85) January 27, 2019 I'm extremely proud to be a supporter of a club that has historically been at the forefront of the fight against racism and homophobia that are so prevalent in the game even today. You've failed that legacy. You need to resign. You're no ambassador for our club's values. — Chris (@KrimboSausage) January 28, 2019 Hold these L's and apologise to @alexiwobi and to @Arsenal pic.twitter.com/ixXrQBsdT2 — Dave O (@DUO84) January 27, 2019 See now, we don't want to kill you over it but the fact that you could laugh at him being called gorilla faced and then uploading it on spur of the moment, being the ambassador of the club isn't worth an apology. That is actually the worst thing you could do for the Indian fanbse — Kushagra Jain (@kushagrajainn) January 27, 2019 Do us all a favour and never step foot at arsenal and take the word gooner out your biog as you def ain't one of us — Football Dad (@FootballDadUK) January 27, 2019 I have no idea who you are but shocked to learn you are an ambassador for the club .@Arsenal get this hate out of our club !!! — Leroy Tyson (@LTyspn) January 27, 2019 Please do not associate with our club. If you are a true gunner you will stand down and respect others around you. ESPECIALLY IWOBI — William (@William17384989) January 27, 2019
  24. In today's day and age, imagine living a social media nightmare! How absolutely callous do you have to be, right? Well, seems like callousness got the better of 'Baaghi 2' beauty, Disha Patani, who posted a big blunder on her Instagram, unknowingly. © Twitter The actress, who's also known as a social media influencer, posted a promotional video for a mobile phone on her Instagram page. The video was like how all promotional videos are supposed to be- well thought out, where she learns about the good camera quality the phone has and takes pictures of herself while she's in various yoga poses. Unfortunately though, while posting the video on her page, she copy-pasted the wrong text as caption and didn't realise it until she was trolled and ridiculed by her followers for it. © Instagram disha patani is an advertising agency nightmare pic.twitter.com/mlu6gkhure — n (@themdavesaves) 22 January 2019 The wrongly put caption read: “Hey - final video is here. Will mail you the high res video in something so please use that as the final video to be uploaded. Caption below,” Oops, talk about being so heavily distracted, you don't even realise one of the biggest faux-pas that can maybe question your 'influencer' abilities! Obviously her 17 million followers were appalled at her foolishness or were convinced she's an 'advertising agency nightmare'. © Instagram A lot of other followers left no stone unturned and made it a point to comment on her absentmindedness. Here, you can have a chuckle and a large bucket of popcorn while reading some of the comments below. Ctrl C+ Ctrl V isn't enough to copy. It requires brain too ð — Vishesh Arora (@vishesharora19) 22 January 2019 This one steals the show though. Copy Paste kaise karte hai yeh Disha ko Patani — LowCash Rahul (@NayaGamer) 22 January 2019 She's since changed the caption to a regular one and everything else is back to normal or so it seems. Although her fans defended her saying it's probably her team who'd captioned it and not her, we're still a tad doubtful as most celebrities usually manage their own Instagram and Twitter accounts. © Instagram Well, whatever it is, here's hoping against all hope Disha doesn't zone out again and copy-paste some seriously wrong captions at the risk of people asking her 'what are you smoking girl'?, the next time around! For now let's just wish we get to see the fit diva in 'Baaghi 3', with her rumoured bae Tiger Shroff.
  25. A decade ago, on the morning of January 22, 2008, Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' became the only superhero film to be nominated in a record-breaking 8 categories, a stature that has not been achieved by any superhero genre film till date. via GIPHY The heartbreaking reality associated with this film that still pinches the movie buffs happens to be its exclusion from being nominated in the Best Picture category. Years later, just a day after the announcement of nominations of the 91st Academy Awards, the world is contemplating a rather historic moment that might change the whole significance of the Oscars forever. Ryan Coogler's tour-de-force 'Black Panther', which is a superhero saga, has been nominated for the Oscars in multiple categories including the esteemed Best Picture category. via GIPHY “Wakanda forever”, tweeted 'Black Panther's' lead actress Lupita Nyong'o, as she shared her extreme delight on the micro-blogging platform, regarding the film's nominations. Since then, social media has been buzzing with tweets, comments, and memes. Seven #OscarNoms for #BlackPanther, including best picture!! This is our reaction the first time we saw footage from the film and we're feeling this way all over again today! Thank you @TheAcademy! #WakandaForever #Oscars pic.twitter.com/lXWv3nsN90 — Lupita Nyong'o (@Lupita_Nyongo) January 22, 2019 Where on one hand, the film has been declared a shape-shifting cultural phenomenon prominently at various award ceremonies this year, others are fuming over the Academy's decision of putting the film in the Best Picture category. Who can forget the ultimate dismissal of 'The Dark Knight'? On the 10th death anniversary of Heath Ledger (Joker), fans remember! via GIPHY If we take a look back at Christopher Nolan's 'Batman' sequel, the film got nominated in eight categories and ended up winning two including the posthumous win by Heath Ledger who portrayed Joker in the film. The only possible reason behind the Best Picture nomination snub for 'The Dark Knight' is believed to be the Academy's limit on the number of candidates in this category. 'Black Panther's' nomination is being termed historic, however, one can't help but wonder if it's because of the controversial history of 'The Dark Knight' at the Oscars that the Marvel film got to this juncture? Does 'Black Panther' owe its nomination to the biggest snub of all time – the dismissal of Christopher Nolan's beloved project? via GIPHY 2019 brings more room for nominees in the Best Picture category and the number has been increased from 5 to between 5 and 10 films. That makes us think more and deeply about the loss 'The Dark Knight' faced at the hands of the Academy. Other films that have got nominated this year are 'A Star Is Born', 'Vice', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'The Favourite', 'BlacKkKlansman', 'Green Book' and 'Roma'. But what are the chances of 'Black Panther's' win? The Academy has been famously known for dropping the last minute bombs! Remember the highly criticized 'La La Land' fiasco? As critics said, 'Moonlight's'well-deserved win was taken from their hands and the wrong film was announced on purpose, we don't know what the truth is, but two years later, we know that Hollywood is trying to prove a point here. via GIPHY In simple words, 'Black Panther's' nomination may just be a kind gesture by the Academy to avoid the 'Oscars So White' tirade! When the film surpassed James Cameron's 'Titanic' and became the third highest grossing movie ever in the United States, there came the indication that the Academy might consider it. However, this nomination is indeed a sheer surprise for us. via GIPHY Though stigma has taken a back seat and the film deserves an equal opportunity to win, but somehow, it is meant to be snubbed! Otherwise, it would be a naive but well-planned catastrophe directed towards Mr Nolan.
