  1. "Winning Asia Cup is not easy. It's not like we will say, we will win. It requires a lot of hard work and focus," Babar says
  2. Pakistanis came out on social media to celebrate the maiden gold by Nooh Dastagir Butt in the Commonwealth Games, Birmingham
  3. PSY also praised the BTS members and called Suga ?equal parts artistic as he is commercial'
  4. Amit Mishra, veteran India leg-spinner, went unsold at the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. Despite being the third-highest wicket-taker in the cash-rich league, Mishra failed to attract any bids. The 39-year-old bowler played just four matches last year before an injury forced him out of action. After going unsold, the leg-spinner has been quite active on social media. In one of his recent tweets, Mishra boasted about dismissing his 'good friend' seven times in the IPL. The self-praising tweet came after Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga sent Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson packing for the fourth time in their fifth meeting. Samson fell to Hasaranga for fourth time in overall five innings. Do you know whom I have dismissed the most number of times? My good friend Rohit Sharma (7 times).. a very good human being. #RCBvsRR #IPL2022 — Amit Mishra (@MishiAmit) April 5, 2022 "Samson fell to Hasaranga for fourth time in overall five innings. Do you know whom I have dismissed the most number of times? My good friend Rohit Sharma (7 times).. a very good human being. #RCBvsRR #IPL2022," Mishra tweeted. The tweet did not go well with Rohit fans as they slammed Amit Mishra for trying to use Mumbai Indians' skipper's name to stay relevant. With that wicket in 2021, Mishra had equalled the record of dismissing a batter the most number of times in IPL. Before him, Zaheer Khan and Sandeep Sharma had dismissed MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli seven times respectively. View this post on InstagramAfter going unsold ahead of the auction, Mishra had put out a tweet for his former franchise -- Delhi Capitals. The veteran spinner had said that he is not finished and still has a lot to offer. Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgment of my services for the team. I am truly humbled! But, I am not finished yet and can easily add to the legacy of @DelhiCapitals…only if DC needs me! I am always in their corner. #ibleedDC https://t.co/kQuiiKaHKy — Amit Mishra (@MishiAmit) February 13, 2022 "Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgment of my services for the team. I am truly humbled! But, I am not finished yet and can easily add to the legacy of @DelhiCapitals…only if DC needs me! I am always in their corner. #ibleedDC," Mishra had tweeted. While Mishra holds the record for most hat-tricks taken in the IPL and has 166 wickets next to his name in the franchise-based tournament, his fitness became a major concern. He played just seven games in the last two seasons and that might have forced Delhi to look beyond one of their most successful bowlers in the tournament's history. View the full article
  5. With 16 overs into match, Pakistan have bowled out half of the batting line-up with Australia standing at 68-5
  6. For the debutant Gujarat Titans, it was almost a perfect start to the season. The Hardik Pandya-led side started their journey in the IPL on a bang, defeating fellow newcomers Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five wickets in their opening encounter of IPL 2022. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami was the wrecker in chief for the Ahmedabad-based outfit as he started the new season with a dream delivery, which brought opposition skipper KL Rahul’s stay in the middle to an end ever before it started. © Twitter/IPL After getting the prized scalp of the LSG captain, the Indian speedster then rattled the timbers of his opening partner Quinton de Kock and Manish Pandey in his next two overs, pushing Lucknow on the backfoot. Shami’s opening spell became a huge talking point on the internet as people from all over the world lavished praise on the veteran pacer for his incredible performance, which set up the whole match for his new franchise. © Instagram/Mohammed Shami However, there was one appreciation tweet that ended up hogging the same amount of attention, if not more, as Shami’s outstanding bowling spell. This tweet came from the official handle of a famous Porn actress Kendra Lust. Absolutely wonderful performance by @mdshami11 #LSGvsGT #IPL2022 — Kendra Lust™ (@KendraLust) March 28, 2022 “Absolutely wonderful performance by @mdshami11 #LSGvsGT #IPL2022,” Lust wrote on Twitter. The adult actress’ tweet sparked a joke fest on the micro-blogging site as Indian cricket fans used their creativity and entertained one another. Most of them were actually interested in knowing whether she actually followed cricket. no wonder his line and length is perfect — Sakul kc (@SakulKc) March 29, 2022@MdShami11 pic.twitter.com/NKTMnBf2YT — Kaushik (@CricKaushik_) March 29, 2022 pic.twitter.com/EK8eDwNHfk — Samraat Maharjan (@MaharjanSamraat) March 29, 2022 pic.twitter.com/rvkLKCsIiK — Simran Randhawa (@Randhawa36_) March 29, 2022 This was not the first time her tweet about an Indian celebrity had grabbed eyeballs. Last year, she had posted a photo-shopped picture of herself with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and sent her best wishes to the actor on his birthday. Talking about his performance, Shami was simply unplayable in his opening spell as he made the most of the perfect bowling conditions at the Wankhede Stadium and troubled the batters by bowling consistent “Test match” line and lengths. Shami, who played for Punjab Kings last year, couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new season. He was adjudged the Player of the Match for his opening burst, and rightly so. Reflecting on his performance at the post match presentation, Shami said: “I was warmed up well. It was important to get a good start in the first match, I looked to bowl a Test match line and length here. When the ball comes out of your hand like that. I have worked very hard on this seam position.” “People say it is god-gifted, but that's not the case. I try to come round the wicket to a leftie and make that angle because that's the most uncomfortable thing for them. I just look to do that,” he added. The Gujarat Titans fans would hope that Shami carries on his rich vein of form and continues to produce similar performances in the upcoming games. View the full article

  8. Records went tumbling during the first Test between India and Sri Lanka in Mohali. It was a special game for not one but four Indian superstars – Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravinchandran Ashwin. It was Rohit’s debut match as India’s Test skipper but the veteran off-spinner made it special through his performance as he became second most India bowler in Test cricket history. View this post on Instagram The 35-year-old spin wizard toppled legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev to gain second spot on the list of India’s leading wicket-takers’ list in the game’s longest format. It was a massive achievement for Ashwin and it was made even more special by the new captain Rohit Sharma, who was full of praise for the Chennai bowler at the virtual press conference after the opening Test of the two-match series. 'An all-time great' - Rohit Sharma heaps praise on Ravi Ashwin.#INDvSL pic.twitter.com/LTNfPOKOUm — CricTracker (@Cricketracker) March 8, 2022 Reflecting on the off-spinner’s impressive red-ball career, the 34-year-old leader said that he didn’t know about others but in eyes he was an “all-time great”. View this post on Instagram During an interview with bcci.tv, the off-spinner was asked about how he felt when he heard him saying all those things about him. View this post on Instagram Ashwin, a player who is otherwise never short of words, was simply overwhelmed by Rohit’s words. He couldn’t process how to react to such kind words. By his own admission he is not good at receiving compliments and that’s why hearing Rohit say all those good things about him made him a bit emotional. View this post on Instagram “I don't know what to tell Rohit. I am very bad at receiving compliments. I don't really know how to react. Sometimes I can get emotional but I cannot really coin those words when I am emotional. Rohit went out into the press conference and lavished praise on me and I didn't really know how to react until this morning . At the breakfast hall I said that was very sweet of him,” Ashwin said in the interview. Speaking about Rohit’s maiden debut as Test skipper, Ashwin said apart from his technical capabilities, the thing about his leadership which impressed him the most was the “human element”. He gave the example of the way he looked after Jayant Yadav, who was having a bad day in the office. View this post on Instagram “Rohit, we all know how tactically strong he is. I saw a lot of human element in the way he led the side. He's looking out for everyone in the team. How everyone is feeling and how everyone's confidence is important for the engine room to function,” he explained. View this post on Instagram Having thrashed the opposition in the series opener, the Indian players would be looking to clinch the first red-ball sweep under Rohit’s leadership. Since the second Test is a day-night affair, the challenge would be different in Bengaluru as compared to Mohali. View the full article
