Javed Akhtar is no stranger to trolling and has often been criticized for his views concerning national issues. He recently drew flak after he compared the Taliban and the Hindu right-wing that triggered controversy. He had said the Taliban are barbaric and their actions are reprehensible but those supporting the RSS, VHP, and Bajrang Dal are similar. Now, Javed Akhtar, in a signed article in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, has said that Hindus are the most tolerant majority in the world and that India could never be equated with Taliban-ruled Afghanistan as Indians are by nature moderates. “Actually, in the recent interview, I have said ‘Hindus are the most decent and tolerant majority’ in the world. I have repeated this time and again and also emphasized that India can never become like Afghanistan because Indians by nature are not extremists. It is in their DNA to be moderate, to keep to the middle of the road,” said Akhtar in his opinion piece in Saamana. But he also maintained his stance that he does find similarities between the Taliban and the Hindu right-wing. “My critics are also outraged that I find a lot of commonalities between the mindsets of Taliban and the Hindu right-wing. As a matter of fact, there is a lot of commonalities. The Taliban is forming an Islamic government based on religion, the Hindu right-wing wants a Hindu Rashtra,” Akhtar said. He went on to add, “The Taliban wants to curb women rights and put them on the margin, the Hindu right-wing has also made it clear that they don’t like the freedom of women and girls; right from UP, Gujarat to Karnataka young men and women have been beaten mercilessly for sitting together in a restaurant or a garden or any public place. Like the Muslim fanatics, even the Hindu right-wing does not accept the right of women to choose their spouses. Recently a very important right-wing leader said that women are not capable of being left on their own or being independent. The much-awaited trailer of Manoj Bajpayee and Neena Gupta’s thriller Dial 100 dropped last night. The trailer of the crime thriller will keep you glued to the screen throughout. In the film, the main protagonist is shown to be time, as it is a race between Neena Gupta and Manoj Bajpayee. Manoj Bajpayee is seen playing the role of a cop named Nikhil Sood and Neena Gupta is seen playing the role of Seema Pallav, who is a grieving mother and seeking revenge for her son’s death. In the trailer, we can see that someone makes a call to the Police Control Room and there is a woman on call who is specifically asking for Nikhil Sood. She is crying on call and it also turns out that she is about to kill someone with a gun. The film revolves around one line according to the makers, which goes as, "One night, one call, can change your lives. Expect the unexpected with Dial 100." Check out the trailer here- In the trailer, we can see that Nikhil Sood gets disturbed by the phone call that he gets and he can sense that there is something personal but he fails to identify her on call. After some time, he gets to know that the woman on call is Seema Pallav, who wants to make things even between them. And to make this happen, she kidnaps Nikhil Sood’s wife, Prerna which is played by actress Sakshi Tanwar. And then we can see glimpses of Prerna being held at gunpoint by Seema and Nikhil’s desperate attempts to track them down. I was worried, nervous, everybody in the team was nervous. The challenge was how to become Rani Bharati and get people to connect with her. He took to his Instagram to share that he along with politicians Baba Siddique and Zeeshan Siddique has arranged 500 oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients. Sharing the picture, Salman wrote, "Our first lot of 500 oxygen concentrators have reached Mumbai.
