Game of Thrones season 8 premiere was the show's most-watched episode ever. That's right, it was watched by a record 17.4 million viewers when it aired. But you know what? That number could have been much higher if more people would have watched it, you know, legally. According to a digital-piracy analytics company Muso, the “Winterfell” episode was pirated 54 million times globally in just 24 hours. The pirated views easily dwarfs the legal views that came on the day it was aired. Of course, the number will likely go up in the coming days as more people start watching it, but so will the pirated views. © HBO MUSO's data also shows that the most pirated views came from India. Roughly 10 million views out of the estimated 54 million came from India. MUSO speculates that the piracy in India was higher due to the difficulty of accessing the show there. China, on the other hand, airs a censored version of the show, so 5 million pirated views came from there too. United States, despite having the easiest access to the show via HBO, came third in charts with close to 4 million illegal views. So yes, it looks like people are not ready to pay to watch 'Game of Thrones' after all. Anyway, the next episode of 'Game of Thrones' season 8 airs Monday, April 22 at 6.30 AM on Hotstar in India. So, you still have some time to catch up if you haven't already.
8 Biggest Reunions We Couldn't Wait To Watch In The Season 8 Premiere Of 'Game Of Thrones'
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsFinally, the wait for 'Game of Thrones' season 8 premiere is over and most of us have already witnessed what goes on ahead in the series. If you haven't seen the episode yet (and I wonder why), then let me warn you this article contains heavy spoilers and you may want to consider reading it. The first episode of season 8 has everything elemental. From Jon Snow's return home, with the queen by his side, to infamous dragon rides across Winterfell, everything was placed in a manner that was in accordance from one revelation to another. The revelations made may have been small in gravity for now, but they were very impactful to further build the story and the characters. © HBO The most obvious element of episode 1 were the string of dysfunctional family reunions that took place, once Jon entered Winterfell with his troop. Some were very overwhelming (like imagine seeing your brother after seven years), while some were just oddly strange. Here's a list of the most looked-forward to reunions in season 8, episode 1 of 'Game of Thrones'. (1) Jon Snow & Arya Stark © HBO This was one of the most overwhelming parts of the episode, at least for me. When Jon was standing in front of the Weirwood tree, Arya sneaked up from behind and gave him a hug. It hits you the most when you realise the last time the two saw each other. It was before Jon left for the wall and handed Arya her sword, Needle. This time around when he noticed Needle on her, he asked her if she's ever used it and she said 'once or twice'. Well, it's only time till Jon finds out how many times Arya has actually used Needle. (2) Jon Snow & Bran Stark © HBO Jon and Bran last met before Jon left for the wall and at the time Bran was on bed rest, recovering from his fatal fall. Jon wasn't allowed to spend sufficient time with him before leaving as his mother, Catelyn Stark didn't allow Jon the time. So you can only imagine the emotion that went into this reunion! When Jon saw Bran, he went straight for his forehead to kiss it but realised the reunion was stunted considering Bran is now the Three-Eyed-Raven. Even so, we could see Bran was happy to see Jon and also shared his fair warning about the White-Walkers marching to Winterfell. (3) Arya Stark & Gendry © HBO The last time the two were seen together in season 3 were when they joined the 'Brotherhood', before Gendry was taken by Melisandre to Stannis Baratheon. But this reunion was playful and flirtatious and both seemed rather content and happy to find each other alive. Arya also asked Gendry to make a weapon for her and I think it's the most romantic thing an assassin can ask her crush to make, especially if he happens to be a blacksmith. We're not sure yet what the weapon entails but we do know it has two pointy-ends, according to the design Arya handed over to Gendry. According to GoT's weapon master, Tommy Dunne, there's one creation in season 8, which is an absolute showstopper and I wonder if it's the weapon Gendry makes for Arya. (4) Arya Stark & Sandor Clegane aka The Hound © HBO Arya and The Hound have had a rather love-hate relationship but by the looks of it, The Hound is glad to see Arya alive and that's what he tells her too- "You're a cold hard bitch, aren't you? Guess, that's why you're still alive". The last time the two were seen together was in season 4, when a duel between The Hound and Brienne of Tarth left the Hound completely wounded. Arya escaped his companionship soon after, leaving him to die. (5) Jon Snow & Samwell Tarly © HBO With great difficulties, after escaping the Citadel, Samwell, Gilly and Little Sam come to Winterfell to fight for Snow. Sam learns about the death of his father and his brother by the hands of the queen and disappointed and dejected, he runs in to Jon, who he last saw at the Night's Watch. Their reunion is the most pivotal part of the show, as Sam reveals Jon's true identity, that he's not Ned Stark's son and neither is he a bastard. He is in fact Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen's legitimate child and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. This scene surely gave us goosebumps! (6) Sansa Stark & Tyrion Lannister © HBO This is one of the most rewarding reunions in the episode as it was bound to happen and Tyrion had to see how Sansa has actually evolved. And he does notice that and states "I underestimated you". The two were last seen in season 4, at the memorable wedding of Joffrey with Margaery Tyrell, after which Sansa fled with Littelfinger. Their conversation is short-lived in this episode but quite impactful. It tells us Sansa has truly evolved and that she knows Cersei better than anyone else. Even her own brother. That's because while Tyrion is convinced Cersei is on their side and that the Lannister army will march to Winterfell, Sansa is well aware of her schemes and knows for certain Cersei won't do such a thing as she has her own motives and she tells Tyrion the same. (7) Yara Greyjoy & Theon Grejoy © HBO Their reunion wasn't an elaborate deal but it was surely something to look forward to. When Theon arrives to rescue Yara from Euron Greyjoy's clutches, she's relieved to see him alive but also gives him a mighty head-butt (because he abandoned her in the past), before giving him her hand to stand up again. The two flee and head towards the Iron Islands, a definite place where she can stand guard for the folks in the North, as the White-Walkers supposedly can never reach the Iron Islands. She figures Theon wants to go back to Winterfell and assist Snow in the war and she tells him to do just that. (8) Jaime Lannister & Bran Stark © HBO Leaving the best for the last, this one reunion was the most superimposing and anticipated one. The two obviously met in season one, where Bran, a little boy climbed one of the towers of Winterfell to find Jaime & Cersei in a, well, a compromising position. Fear of their relationship being revealed to the rest of the family, Jaime pushed Bran down the tower, making him loose both his legs. I am not sure what the two will even talk about, or if they ever will, but I have a feeling Bran will tell Jaime he isn't that little boy anymore and that he's the Three-Eyed-Raven and that it probably doesn't matter, hopefully forgiving Jaime?! Well, Jaime's character has been the most evolving one out of the lot, so maybe he should be forgiven. So, there you go! 8 most endearing, overwhelming yet strange reunions in the first episode of the final season. We're awaiting some more reunions by the second episode, namely Jon and the Night King. But we're not going to go more in to that. For now, let's just take a week or less to digest this episode first!
The wait has finally ended. Winter came at 6:30 am IST on Hotstar, with the 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 premiere airing after more than 500 days since last season concluded. Almost all living characters got screen time as multiples storylines seem to be coming together for one last time.' Please don't read any further if you haven't watched the episode yet, as this post contains heavy spoilers. As usual, there was death, there was *** and there certainly were dragons. Whitewalkers remained out of sight but did send some strong messages. The internet, no wonder, was abuzz with multiple theories, predictions and memes. But one particular Reddit user called DukeOfTheVines drew parallels between the pilot of the first season and the latest Season 8 instalment. Here it goes: “The opening shot of the King/Queen arriving with the same music” According to the redditor, the same track plays in the background of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen's arrival in Winterfell as to the one at the time of Robert Baratheon's entrance in Season 1 Episode 1. © HBO The tunes do bear resemblance, and why not? The Iranian-German composer Ramin Djawadi, who had composed 'The King's Arrival' in the show's debut season, has returned to lend tunes to the final one as well. “Arya being a kid watching the King coming vs her letting a kid get a good view of the Queen coming” Arya Stark is shown rejoicing at her brother (not by blood anymore) Jon Snow's return. The duo was thick as thieves while growing up and has reunited after their lives have come full circle. In fact the 'girl with no name' still carries the sword (Needle) that Jon gave her as a kid. © HBO “Both episodes ending with Bran and Jamie, except this time Jamie looks scared” This has to be my favourite scene from the season. A cloaked Jamie Lannister arrives on a horse to Winterfell only to find Bran Stark, now the greenseer and also the boy who Jamie pushed out from a tower, waiting for him. You can actually feel the fear in Jamie's eyes at the sight. © HBO “Both episodes have amputated limbs from the white walkers spread out in a gory way to send a message” The heir of Hosue Umber, Ned was found decapitated with limbs all around him in this episode. Remember the first ever GoT episode where the White Walkers make their first "artwork" and create a symbol in the snow using the dismembered body parts of the slaughtered wildlings? “In the pilot, Cersi and Catelyn Stark talk about their kids possibly getting married while looking at them from a distance, while in this episode Varys, Tyrion, and Davos talk about Dany and Jon getting married while looking at them from a distance” While the idea of Jon and Dany's potential romance is exciting (and really not taboo considering the incestuous history of House Lannister), the foreboding metaphor in the episode is 'nothing lasts forever.' Let's see how this one goes, especially after Sam's conversation with Jon (or Aegon?). “The kid from the beginning was climbing on trees to get a good view, similar to Bran climbing the castle to get a good view. He also looked similar to Bran in the Pilot” Will the kid also end up losing limbs? “In the Pilot, all the shots of Winterfell showed the grass but now it's all snow” Winter has come? Other interesting observations made by Redditors: /u/Itsgreenarrow: Also S1E1 Ned's farewell to Jon he says “the next time we see each other, We will talk about your mother. I promise.” Then S8E1 while Jon is staring at Ned's tomb Sam tell him about his parents /u/friggindiggin: First episode Jon is distraught over his identity crisis as a bastard. This episode Jon is distraught over his identity crisis as a king. /u/enfinnity: The brothel scene with Bron is similar to Tyrion's first scene /u/JaqueStrap69: Also Jon asking Sansa "Where's Arya?" When he arrived, just like Ned asking "Where's Arya?" /u/ChavaF1: The current ruler of Winterfell saying “Winterfell is yours” to the arriving monarch /u/sarahj2010: Also loved the line from Robert Baratheon in the pilot to Ned 'I have a son, you have a daughter, we shall join our houses'. It's gotta be Arya and Gendry. /u/SaiyanAintSo: Also Sansa being more than wary of Dany, much like Catelyn was of Cersei. She really seemed like her mother in that meet and greet. © HBO /u/Dualstack: Also Robert asking Ned to be his hand in the crypts kind of similar to Sam telling Jon he is king in the crypts /u/Skeetronic: Don't forget Cersei putting out to someone she's not 'loyal' to But isn't that the norm for Cersei? Akshay Kumar Made A Funny Mess During 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' Premiere & Left Saif In Splits
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsAkshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan happen to be one of the biggest names in the Bollywood industry and theirs is the kind of bromance that most of us grew up watching. While today the world mostly talks about on-screen chemistry in relation to the lead male and female actors in a film, Akshay and Saif's chemistry, back in the day, evoked similar sizzle on-screen, with its ability to strike a chord with the flamboyant, young male audience. © BCCL From amongst the handful of movies that Akshay and Saif did together, from 'Yeh Dillagi', 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi', to 'Keemat', 'Aarzoo' and even 'Tashan', 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' remains their greatest entertainer. So. when Akshay recently shared a hilarious anecdote related to the film, during a chat with film critic and entertainment reporter Rajeev Masand, fans couldn't hold back their guffaws. Recalling their chemistry and friendship from the days gone by, Akshay told Rajeev that during the premiere of 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' in Delhi, he made a funny mess on-stage and that left Saif in splits. © United Seven Creations Talking about the incident, Akshay said, “I also have a very good memory about when we had gone for the premiere... it is very funny what happened that day. Rageshwari, Shilpa, me, Saif... We had gone to Delhi. Now suddenly on stage, this guy comes and says: 'Ab Akshayji, aap ko AIDS ke baare mein kuch kehna hai'. I didn't know the whole premiere was for charity for AIDS. Mr Ratan Jain (the producer of the film) didn't tell us; he forgot. Because I am the senior, they have called me first. Saif is looking at me and he's laughing, he knows I am nervous, he knows I don't know what to say suddenly. And guess what I must have said; I can never forget what I said.” © Yash Raj Films Yes, trust Akshay when he says that what he said that evening is unforgettable, but kudos to his presence of mind which may have ultimately saved the day, because he came up with the most hilarious thing to say. “I had no idea what to say and I just went and I said: 'Doston, anari mat bano, condom istemal karo aur khiladi bano.” Can you beat that? He was unprepared and came up with this, imagine what a more prepared Akshay would have come up with? We bet it couldn't beat this on any given day, because it is so on point.
