Taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, the Indian cricket team was eager to seal the deal as they took the field against New Zealand at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui in the 3rd One-Day International (ODI) on 28th January. Expected to make a strong comeback in a bid to stay alive in the series, the Kiwis, once again, stuttered as the Virat Kohli-led India romped their way to another clinical win. After deciding to bat first, the hosts lost their top three early on before Ross Taylor and Tom Latham stepped up to the task with a pivotal 119-run partnership for the fourth wicket. But, the Kiwis couldn't capitalise on that partnership as they continued to lose wickets before being bundled out for a mediocre 243-run total. © Twitter/@BCCI In reply, Rohit Sharma (62) and Kohli (60) added 113 runs for the second wicket after the early dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan (28). While both Rohit and Kohli missed out on an opportunity to bag a hundred, a 77-run partnership between Dinesh Karthik (38*) and Ambati Rayudu (40*) got the visitors over the line with seven wickets and 42 balls to spare. A great bowling performance, backed by responsible batting, paved another win for the Indian side. While the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal all claimed a brace, it was undoubtedly Mohammed Shami whose influential figures of 3-41 were crucial in India's win. For someone who was adjudged the 'Man of the Match' in the first ODI, it wasn't surprising to see Shami claiming the honours in the third game as well. And after his majestic bowling earned him plaudits, Shami's communication skills in English won over Simon Doull at the presentation. Shami surprises Simon Doull by speaking in English who responds in Hindi "your English bahut achha (very good)" #IndvNZ pic.twitter.com/F9p9GDH0Ez — Navjot Piddu (@DesiFamilyGuy) January 28, 2019 Unlike the first match in Napier, where he had Kohli for company who translated the questions for his teammate, Shami decided to go solo this time around and gave his best shot at answering Simon Doull's queries at the presentation ceremony. "It's really difficult to bowl against the wind. One comes with the wind and the other is against the wind. It is difficult but not too hard. Bhuvi at the other end was also a great help. Sticking to areas where we want to bowl is the key," Shami said. Doull, the former New Zealand fast bowler who was conducting the presentation ceremony, was so impressed with Shami's effort that he complimented him in Hindi after the interview. "Your English bahut acha, congratulations," Doull told Shami as Kohli burst out laughing. If you've ever been on or are on Tinder you'd know how tedious it is to make a decent profile there; the one that gets you all the 'right' kinda swipes. Some men get extremely non-creative or unabashedly charming, that women want to pull their guts out while hoping to swipe for better pastures! This one bloke from Britain though, cracked the creative trickery of keeping Tinder profiles quite 'lit' and did a pretty neat job of it. Or so we think! 21-year-old Sam Dixey's profile came within the purview of Tinder bystanders when it was discovered by Gracie Barrow and she couldn't stop tweeting about it. Why do you ask? Well, interestingly enough, Sam's Tinder profile is in the form of a power point presentation titled 'Why you should swipe right: A presentation by Sam'. Could you get more meticulous and nerdy in life? We don't think so. But it worked in his favour for sure! In case you were left wondering, Grace did swipe right on Sam's profile after viewing it and she wanted him to know, through her tweets, how much his profile made her laugh. She's tweeted screenshots of his profile and her tweet gained 20k retweets, and 88k likes! Boys, are you taking note of this? A genuine 10/10 effort from this lad lmaooo I'm crying pic.twitter.com/7wjUJk3HF0 — Gracie Barrow (@GracieBarrow1) 17 February 2018 Grace stated that she couldn't contain her excitement to show his profile to her friends and they all loved it! Sam says his reason to make such an interesting Tinder profile were sheer boredom and trying his best to get his creative juices to flow, to land him some ladies, of course! His first slide reads 'I have friends and do things outside' © Twitter Sam Dixey Slide number two talks about what Sam enjoys doing and the bullet points underneath it read- "laser tag, talking about my feelings, dad jokes and dominoes", to name a few. The slide also has a section named 'Other notable qualities' and he claims to 'know all the rules to drinking games' under that section and is 'not the worst at ***' (something every woman needs to hear men say). © Twitter Sam Dixey The cherry on top is a 'slide' which reveals 'totally real' reviews people (by people we mean women of course) have written about him and we know they're totally not true Sam! © Twitter Sam Dixey Grace though is asking men out there to follow Sam's example and create more creative profiles on Tinder. Wow Sam, you really outdid yourself there, didn't you!
What was supposed to be a darbar meeting of personnel in Ferozepur turned into an extremely awkward situation for each and every person present there. The embarrassing event happened on Sunday when about two dozen personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) were just waiting to watch a motivational training clip at an annual meeting, but what they got was a porn video instead. BSF inspector general, Punjab frontier, Mukul Goyal has ordered an inquiry after this major screw up. © Reuters “The darbar is a platform to discuss issues faced by the personnel but it left many red-faced when a deputy commandant started giving a presentation through his official laptop only to play the porn movie. The clip played for 90 seconds before it was abruptly shut down,” said a source. The IG said that the officer whose laptop was used during this ‘darbar’ has been identified. He said, “Such material should not have been on the official laptop of an officer. We are taking the matter seriously. That’s why an inquiry has been ordered.” © Reuters And this case marks the second major embarrassing incident for the BSF after a jawan, Tej Bahadur Yadav, who was later dismissed from the force, exposed the "poor quality of food" served.
