  1. Prince Andrew the reason why fans wont get to see Princess Beatrice's wedding live? Photo: mirror.co.ukEver since Princess Beatrice's wedding to property tycoon Edo Mapelli Mozzi became public, fans have been displeased as to how the wedding coverage has been kept away from the limelight. Fans have also been displeased as to how the wedding coverage has been revealed to be be showcased. Princess Beatrice might be the only heir to the throne, who's wedding will not be covered through a live broadcast. This news comes in stark contrast as to how the weddings of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were showcased. News of her engagement has also been left shrouded in mystery ever since her father's alleged psychedelic revelations came to light. Princess Beatrice's wedding might be poles apart as to that of her little sister Princess Eugenie, who got married back in 2018 and received almost three hours of airtime form ITV and This Morning. Many are not even aware the dates of the royal's engagement which occurred back in September. Close to the time when Prince Andrew stepped down. BBC was the first broadcasting agency who has made it clear that they will not be covering their nuptials live, however will still offer ‘news coverage of the wedding across our channels’. On Wednesday, ITV became the second channel to announce the same.

  4. For all those who laid their eyes on this quintessential beauty throwing a coy look at the camera, and found her charming her way into their hearts this noon, this is what we have to say to you. We know that much like the rest of the nation you've also found your latest celebrity crush in Sara Ali Khan. The teaser for Sara's debut movie 'Kedarnath' was released earlier today, and almost the entire nation was left hooked to their screens in rapt admiration. The teaser has its bonuses (read flaming Sara-SSR chemistry), but it was Sara's portrayal of small-town girl Mukku that caught people's fancy. © Twitter The one minute and forty seconds long teaser gives us a glimpse of the potential Sara holds as an actor. It's convincing enough to make movie-goers feel they've got to watch out for this new girl on the block, and we wouldn't disagree. While there's still a week's time to kill before we can see for ourselves how much truth this assumption holds, in the meantime we bring you everything else there's to know about the Pataudi princess, who is set to become the latest entrant in Bollywood. The Royal Princess © BCCL Born to star parents Saif Ali Khan and his first wife Amrita Singh in 1993, she is Saif's eldest child. She is a doting big sister to her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, who is 8 years younger to her. Sara and her brother are known to have been brought up by their mother Amrita, after their parents got divorced in 2004. Daddy's Girl It has often been speculated that the sourness of Amrita and Saif's relationship dribbled into Saif's equation with his kids; however, that doesn't seem to be true. View this post on Instagram Thank you for my first cup of koffeeee @karanjohar âï¸ð¤© #fatherdaughter #koffeewithkaran #suchfun #seeyousoon ð A post shared by Sara Ali Khan (@saraalikhan95) on Oct 3, 2018 at 7:21am PDT In an interview with DNA, Saif shed light on the strong bond he shares with his kids, “I have given my kids the freedom and space, which is why I trust them not to misuse it. They (Sara and Ibrahim) are young, but they tell me everything. I'm always in the know of what's happening in their lives. I don't know if I can call myself a friend, but we are really close as family and they know they can share anything with me.” He was particularly all-praise for his daughter and said, “Sara is a sweet and a bright kid. I don't know what I should be saying because it seems weird to praise my own daughter. But she's hardworking, I have noticed that about her”. More On Her Private Life Sara is a 2016 Columbia University graduate, who caught some serious eyeballs when she graced the cover of Hello magazine along with her mother. Ever since, she has been seen as an exact replica of her mother Amrita. © BCCL It is also known that Amrita plays the role of a key influencer in her kids' life. Right from picking their outfits for public appearances and events, to looking into the kind of projects Sara gets involved in, Amrita has a say in the matter. Amrita recently made headlines when she demanded that changes be made to the script of Sara's next project 'Simmba'. We've Got More Scoop Through Sara isn't very active on social media as of now, she did start making frequent public appearances over the past one year. Known for being a Bollywood movie junkie, she is also known to be a fitness enthusiast. © BCCL Apart from hitting the gym regularly, she is also known to visit the suburban gymkhana to indulge in her favourite sport - tennis. She has been clicked playing on a tennis court, along with Saif and Ibrahim a number of times. Equation With Step-Mom Kareena & Step-Brother Taimur Sara is known to share a great bond with her step-mom Kareena Kapoor Khan, and it is known that both of Saif's kids are in great terms with little brother Taimur. In an interview with a leading newspaper Kareena was quoted as saying, "We're like best friends. Saif refuses to come out with us. She's my bar hopping partner. I enjoy my equation with her. They are the most well brought-up children”. The entire nation got a glimpse of the special bond she shares with Taimur when she dearly referred to him as “little munchkin” in the caption. Sara seems like the perfect girl next door and has become an internet sensation already. We can only wait until next weekend to see what's in store for her in Bollywood.
  5. You can't choose your family, nor can you decide whether to be born with or without a silver spoon. You can't decide whether to be born into a royal family or as a commoner. But, you can choose to let go of the wealth and royalty, if you want to be with someone you truly love. On this note, let's introduce this Japanese princess who did exactly that by leaving her royal status and title to marry a commoner. Twitter On Monday the 28-year-old Princess Ayako, daughter of Emperor Akihito's cousin, married a commoner Kei Moriya in a Shinto-style wedding at Tokyo's Meiji Shrine. The 32-year-old Moriya works for a shipping company called Nippon Yusen. According to the Japanese media, the wedding included an exchange of rings, followed by a cup of sake the couple shared. é«å宮家ã®ä¸å¥³ã®çµ¢åãã¾ã¨ã大ææµ·éä¼ç¤¾ã«å¤åããå®è°·æ§ããã®çµå©å¼ããæ±äº¬ã®ææ²»ç¥å®®ã§è¡ããã¾ããã åå10æåããã«ææ²»ç¥å®®ã«å°çããã¨ãé³¥å±ã®åã§åºè¿ããå®è°·ããã¨ã¨ãã«å¼ããããç¥æ¥½æ®¿ã¸ã¨é²ã¾ãã¾ãããhttps://t.co/Ll3XgjhZJD #nhk_news #nhk_video pic.twitter.com/gAJUPHcytx — NHKãã¥ã¼ã¹ (@nhk_news) October 29, 2018 It is said that women cannot inherit Japan's Chrysanthemum Throne. In fact, Moriya too said that he hoped to help Princess Ayako adjust to a commoner's life, "I want us to work together, hand in hand, to create a family filled with smiles." While Ayako said that "It didn't feel as though we had met for the first time", Moriya was attracted to her gentle spirit. He said, "And I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her." 6. Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, otherwise known as controversy's favourite child, has recently been back in the news, for what can be considered as a strange mix of the good and the bad. Post getting banned from Indian cricket nearly five years ago, due to spot-fixing allegations leveled against him in IPL 2013, Sreesanth has since tried to salvage what little remained of his fame to carve out an alternate career for himself. From dancing his way to limelight in 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa', to trying his luck in movies, he has done it all. More recently he has been in the news for acting like a spoilt brat (or spoilsport) on reality TV show 'Bigg Boss' season 12. His behaviour on the show has been a talking point for fellow inmates and viewers alike, most of whom seem to be miffed with the former cricket. However, none of the aforementioned reasons bring us to this story. Why we're here is to talk about Sreesanth's quest for true love, wherein he went on to date 6 different actresses before finally finding love with real-life Jaipur princess Bhuvaneshwari Kumari - that something which hasn't been talked about enough. 1. Shriya Saran © Instagram It was back in 2008 when rumours began doing the rounds that Shriya and Sreesanth were a thing, after their appearance at a fashion show in Mumbai. Post the show both of them were spotted having dinner in each other's company, and apparently also left in the same car after dinner, which sent more sparks flying everywhere. However, Shriya had released a statement denying the affair in which she said, "I am acting in a movie directed by Deepa Mehta. I am preparing myself for it. There is no place for romance in my life now. I am committed to acting. I have not met Sreesanth before and never spoken to him." 2. Riya Sen © Instagram Sreesanth's relationship with Riya Sen attracted quite a few eyeballs and gave the paparazzi enough meat to keep pursuing the story further. After her break-up with cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Riya had come across Sreesanth at a page three party, and the two instantly hit it off. She was soon seen on the VIP stands supporting Sreesanth during his matches. Their affair went on for about a year, and during that time tabloids even reported that marriage might be on the cards for the duo. However, that never came to pass. She later posted a tweet slamming reports about their relationship. "Guys please! I am not dating shreesanth! I just attended 3 matches for kochi and that's that! It was work! So ... Rest ur imaginations ... (sic)," Riya had tweeted in April 2011. 3. Shazahn Padamsee © Instagram Same year in 2011, Sreesanth was seen going for a drive after a match with the then new girl on the block, Shazahn. When things began to blow up both of them came forward to clear the air around their relationship. While Shazahn called Sreesanth “sweet” and admitted to going on a drive with him, she also added that, “We are just good friends. I am single.” Sreesanth was soon to follow suit, and denied the link-up with a tweet that read, “Please stop linking me. I am single and working hard on getting better on my game and I am loving my life.” 4. Minissha Lamba © Instagram Rumours were also rife that Minissha and Sreesanth were spotted cuddling at a film awards function at Macau. HT had also reported some eyewitnesses claiming that the duo were seen sitting at a casino late at night, and were apparently also spotted kissing. This rumour blew strong for a year. 5. Raai Laxmi © Instagram The South Indian actress, Raai Laxmi, who made her Bollywood debut with 'Julie 2' in 2017, was also reportedly in a relationship with the former cricketer. However, when questioned Sreesanth denied the link-up and said that, “I happened to visit Lakshmi Rai on the sets of her Kannada film, and before you knew it, the tabloids called us an item. I have grown up in a progressive city like Bangalore, and I've always found it easier to get along with girls. But, I am single, very ready to mingle.” 6. Surveen Chawla © Instagram The duo met on reality show 'Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena' and rumours were soon to follow. Their budding friendship on the show made tabloids speculate that love was on the cards for the pair. They were frequently spotted in restaurants and dance clubs in Bangalore. However, as per reports, things came to an end in 2009. Finally after so many hits and trials, Sreesanth seemed to have found love with his now wife, Bhuvaneshwari Kumari who happens to be a princess of Jaipur's Shekhawat royal family. They got married in September 2013 in Kerala. The couple have two kids together and are leading a happy married life together. © Instagram Sreesanth has seen many ups and downs in his professional and personal life, but seems to be pulling through it all.
  7. The cover image of Princess Hayfa bint Abdullah al-Saud in the latest Vogue edition is generating a lot of buzz. The Princess can be seen sitting behind the wheel of a red convertible and people are calling out the double standards of the kingdom, especially since a lot of women driving activists have been arrested recently. © Twitter The cover comes in the backdrop of the kingdom lifting a ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia. The issue is being bashed for praising the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman at a time, when so many activists are locked up in jail. "In our country, there are some conservatives who fear change. For many, it's all they have known," Princess Hayfa said in the issue. She is the daughter of the late King Abdullah and many activists have slammed this development as a PR exercise for the Princess, who is hogging all the limelight ahead of lifting the regressive ban. "Personally, I support these changes with great enthusiasm," the Princess had said in the cover story. The photo that's being heavily criticised, was shot in the desert outside the western city of Jeddah. © Twitter It must be noted that at least 11 activists were locked up for taking up the cause of women driving in the kingdom. But since the backlash, 4 of them have been released even as the fate of others remains unclear. Saudi Arabia is a conservative kingdom which is governed by a male guardianship system. The Crown Prince, however, is trying to bring change but despite his best efforts, he keeps falling into the same conservative pit which his elders have structured out for the next generation of rulers.

  10. On a day when the whole world had just one thing on their mind, there were a couple of things going on in the mind of young Prince Harry. Yes, he was going to marry the love of his life, but he also missed his mother. There were a number of touching tributes to the late Princess Diana during the Royal Wedding but none compared to this. There was an empty seat in the front aisle of the St. George's Chapel during the wedding. It's not because a guest forgot to show up. It was for Princess Di and we're certain she was there. Source: Twitter Apart from this, the hymn 'Guide Me, O Thy Great Redeemer' was sung as part of the service. This was the same hymn sung at Princess Diana's funeral. Source: Instagram Lady Jane Fellowes, Princess Diana's sister, was the only person who delivered a reading at the wedding. The reading was about the power of eternal love. 11. For years we knew and loved Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane on 'Suits' and now she's a real-life princess. It all sounds like the plot of a chick-flick but, it's all real. It's the classic tale of a commoner marrying a real-life prince, that we all watched just a few hours ago. AP Meghan always looked like royalty, but now she actually is a princess and we just need to talk about what a beautiful bride she made. She looked regal, royal and gorgeous and of course, and even Prince Harry couldn't believe his eyes when he saw her walking down the aisle. AP Prince Harry knows he's the luckiest man in the world and it shows. He's so happy, it's so contagious. AP The first picture of her from the wedding and she was already killing it. 15. Princess Diana shared the agony of her bitter divorce to George Michael. Photo: ALL ACTION George Michael?s special bond with Princess Diana has been laid bare in a new biography about the late pop singer. David Nolan's new biography ?George Michael, Freedom, The Ultimate Tribute 1963-2016? reveals he was one of Diana's closest confidantes, sharing private meetings, phone calls, and wines-fueled tête-à-tête with her. The late Wham! singer, who met the Princess of Wales backstage at a World AIDS Day Concert in Wembley Arena, London, disclosed it was 'very clear' that she was 'very attracted' to him, according to DailyMailTV. Princess Diana and George Michael pictured shaking hands at Concert of Hope in 1993. Photo: Getty Images She even confessed the details of her impending divorce from Charles in 1996 on a recording made at the singer's house in Hampstead, London, and told him she had to escape the 'not-very-loving royals' at any cost. ?Not a very loving, compassionate family, this one I'm leaving,? she once told him. ?There were certain things that happened that made it very clear that she was very attracted to me. There was no question,? he revealed. Princess Diana told George Michael how unhappy she was in her marriage with Charles. Photo: REX FEATURES The ?Careless Whisper? singer attended her funeral in 1997 and donated the song ?You Have Been Loved? to a Diana tribute album and released it as a single. The book has been published four months after George's childhood pal Andros Georgiou told The Sun on Sunday that Diana seemed attracted to the pop superstar. Andros, who met Diana with George several times, revealed: ?She invited George to Kensington Palace for what she called ?a chinwag?. ?He said she made a point of touching his arm and her hello and goodbye hugs lingered. "George told me, ?Nothing happened, but it could have. If I wasn?t gay, I would?. She often confided in him about how unhappy she was with Charles during their meetings.? ?Diana loved being a mother and lit up when she spoke about William and Harry, but said she had never felt like a wife. She was obviously very unhappy and we both felt desperately sorry for her,? Georgiou said. George Michael was found dead at his home in Goring-on-Thames, UK on Christmas Day, 2016. He was 53.
  16. A royal engagement means everyone digging up everything about the new royal bride to be, and Meghan Markle can't escape that. Prince Harry has gone from most eligible bachelor probably in the entire world, to happily betrothed, and obviously people are curious about the woman who made it happen. Even though the actress leads quite a low-key life, we all have been learning so many new things about her for the past few days, the main one being her stint on the TV show 'Deal Or No Deal' as one of the briefcase girls. Yes, she never hid it, but it resurfaced again after the royal engagement was announced. Before getting her big break with the hit legal drama 'Suits', Markle was an actress in Los Angeles, and what do struggling actresses do? Take jobs to pay the bills, and she was doing exactly that. © Twitter Way before she was winning everyone's hearts with her role of Rachel Zane on 'Suits', Markle was one of the 24 'briefcase girls' on 'Deal Or No Deal', and even though it might sound like a glamourous job, she admitted it was more of a making ends meet kind of gig. In an interview with Esquire (http://www.esquire.com/entertainment/interviews/a23925/meghan-markle-interview/ )a few years back, she said, “I would put that in the category of things I was doing while I was auditioning to try to make ends meet. I went from working in the U.S. Embassy in Argentina to ending up on Deal. It's run the gamut.” © Twitter During her senior year of college, Markle served as a political intern, as she mentioned above. She obviously is smart, talented and beautiful, maybe that's why people were a little surprised by her appearance on 'Deal Or No Deal'. She added, “Definitely working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing. So if that's a way for me to gloss over that subject, then I will happily shift gears into something else.” But, unfortunately she never had the winning case. “I didn't ever have it,” she explained. “I don't think I did. I was the ill-fated number 26, which for some reason no one would ever choose. I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go and sit down.” Here's Meghan in action. 17. A firefighter who rescued Princess Diana has spoken for the first time to the media about the accident that killed her 20 years ago. ?This is the first time I have spoken to the media. As a fireman you are part of the French military so you are forbidden to talk. Now I have left the fire service I felt it was OK,? said Xavier Gourmelon, who is 50 and served as firefighter for 20 years. Princess Diana, who was a favourite with the paparazzi and loved world over for her graceful personality, was killed in a fatal car crash in Paris with his lover Dodi Fayed and the driver. Gourmelon told The Sun that he rushed to the accident site and saw the princess still conscious. He proceeded to pull her out of the car, gave her a CPR, which revived her heartbeat. ?We were very close to there and it took less than three minutes to reach it. My ten-man team was in two trucks and we were first to arrive,? he said. ?The car was in a mess and we just dealt with it like any road accident. Diana said to me, My God, what?s happened?? ?The woman, who I later found out was Princess Diana, was on the floor in the back. She was moving very slightly and I could see she was alive. ?I could see she had a slight injury to her right shoulder but, other than that, there was nothing significant. There was no blood on her at all,? he said. Gourmelon held Diana?s hand as he tried to calm her and give her oxygen. She seemed fine for some time but stopped breathing afterwards. ?We are all trained to give first aid and I saw that she suffered a cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. ?I massaged her heart and a few seconds later she started breathing again. It was a relief of course because, as a first responder, you want to save lives ? and that?s what I thought I had done. ?To be honest I thought she would live. As far as I knew when she was in the ambulance she was alive and I expected her to live. But I found out later she had died in hospital. It was very upsetting. The former fighter says that he remembers the incident as if it was yesterday and that ?the memory of that night will stay with me forever". ?Mr Fayed was in the back and in a bad condition, he had a cardiac arrest in the car and when he was taken out he was declared dead by a paramedic. The bodyguard in the front was conscious, but he was trapped and had very severe facial injuries. He kept asking for the princess, saying, ?Where is she? Where is she?? But my team told him to keep calm and not speak. I told him that none of my men spoke English so it was better for him to keep still and not move. I told him not to worry we were looking after everyone,? said Gourmelon.
  18. EVANSVILLE: To honour the late actress Carrie Fisher, an Indiana farmer created a corn maze outlining the face of Star Wars character Princess Leia, reported Associated Press on Friday. This July 12, 2017 photo provided by Jeremy Goebel shows a corn maze with trails outlining the face of "Star Wars" character Princess Leia. Photo: AP The farmer, identified as Jeremy Goebel, had designed the corn maze in February, about a month after Fisher's death in late December. Now that the corn is mature its trails outline the distinctive hairstyle and the upper body of the iconic character. The trails also spell out "Carrie Fisher RIP 1956-2016." Goebel shared that he has been wanting to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher for a long time now. Fisher died at age 60 on December 27, four days after she went into cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles.
  19. Princess Tunku Tun Aminah ties the knot with Dutchman Dennis Muhammad Abdullah JOHOR BAHRU, MALAYSIA: The daughter of one of Malaysia´s most powerful sultans married her Dutch fiance Monday in a tradition-filled ceremony during a day of lavish celebrations witnessed by crowds of excited well-wishers. Princess Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim, 31, the only daughter of the Sultan of Johor, tied the knot with Dennis Muhammad Abdullah, 28, capping a romance of over three years. The Dutchman, who has converted to Islam, and the princess wed according to Muslim Malay custom at the Serene Hill Palace, the royal family´s residence in the southern city of Johor Bahru. The private ceremony was attended by close family and friends. The groom wore traditional white Malay wedding attire and the bride wore a white dress, with Dennis Muhammad placing the ring on his bride´s finger in a special room of the palace and offering a dowry of around $5, in line with centuries-old local customs. The ceremony took place in the throne room of the Grand Palace An evening ceremony replete with pomp and tradition capped the festivities in the southern state of Johor, with the couple sitting on an elaborately decorated dais as family members and dignitaries dropped petals into their hands and sprinkled them with scented water and yellow rice. Among those offering their blessings to the couple in the "sitting in state" ceremony -- traditionally the high point of a Malay wedding -- were the bride´s father, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, and Brunei´s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. The ceremony in the throne room of the Grand Palace was also attended by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak. Afterwards, the newlyweds made their first public appearance as man and wife on the palace steps, smiling and waving to around 1,200 reception guests assembled in the garden. The Dutchman was born Dennis Verbaas and adopted a Muslim name when he converted to Islam in 2015 Hundreds of well-wishers, consisting mostly of families and elderly couples, gathered in a square in Johor Bahru to watch the "sitting-in-state" live on two big screens, as police cars sped by ferrying VIPs to the reception. The Dutchman was born Dennis Verbaas and adopted a Muslim name when he converted to Islam in 2015. He proposed to Tunku Aminah in December last year. Johor´s royal family is rich and powerful and possesses its own private army -- the only state to have one. Malaysia has a unique arrangement in which the throne of the Muslim-majority country changes hands every five years between the rulers of the nine states which are still headed by Islamic royalty. The current king is Sultan Muhammad V, from the conservative Islamic northern state of Kelantan, who steps down in 2021. But Dennis Muhammad is unlikely ever to assume the role since the rulers choose among themselves who the next king will be.
  20. Britain's Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, are seen in an undated photo released by Kensington Palace on July 23, 2017. Photo: Reuters LONDON: Britain's Prince William and his brother Harry recall memories from their childhood 20 years after the sudden death of their mother, Princess Diana, in a new television documentary to be broadcast this week. The 90-minute film ? "Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy" ? celebrates the life and work of Diana, Kensington Palace said in a statement. Diana, the first wife of heir to the throne Prince Charles, was killed in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 when William was aged 15 and Harry was 12. She was 36. In the documentary, William ? Queen Elizabeth's grandson and second in line to the throne ? and Harry are filmed talking about their childhood as they look through photographs in a family album assembled by Diana. Earlier this year, William spoke about how the shock of losing his mother still lingered two decades after her death. Harry said he had sought counselling to help deal with the grief. A number of commemorative events have been planned to mark Diana's death. William and Harry attended a private service earlier this month to re-dedicate her grave and the brothers have also commissioned a statue to be erected in her honour outside their official London home. Rarely-seen possessions of Diana, including her music collection and ballet shoes, went on display on Saturday at Buckingham Palace. An exhibition celebrating Diana's fashion opened in February.
  21. LONDON: The British princes, William and Harry, will attend a private service today (on Saturday) to re-dedicate the grave of their mother Princess Diana on what would have been her 56th birthday. The service will be at Diana´s resting place on the Althorp Estate, her family´s ancestral home in central England, where the princes will be joined by William´s wife Kate and members of Diana´s family. The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the spiritual leader of the Anglican Communion, will conduct the ceremony. Diana, first wife of William´s father and heir-to-the-throne Prince Charles died aged 36 in Paris on August 31, 1997, after the limousine carrying her and lover Dodi al-Fayed crashed in a tunnel as it tried to escape paparazzi who were chasing them on motorbikes. She was buried on a leafy oval island in the grounds of Althorp amid an outpouring of grief across the world. With the 20th anniversary of her death approaching, both William, 35, and Harry, 32, have spoken publicly about the impact that losing their mother has had on lives. In an interview published last week, Harry said the decision to make him walk behind her coffin as the funeral cortege slowly made its way through the packed streets of London when he was a child had had a lasting impact. "My mother had just died, and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television," he said. "I don´t think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances. I don´t think it would happen today." Both princes have become prominent mental health campaigners, encouraging people to speak openly rather than bottle up their emotions, and William said in April the shock of losing his mother still lingered. "You never get over it, it´s such an unbelievably big moment in your life that it never leaves you. You just learn to deal with it," he said. Meanwhile, Harry said he had come close to a "complete breakdown" on several occasions and had sought counselling in his late twenties to help deal with the grief of losing Diana.

  23. People would do anything for love, even if it means giving up their royal status. Princess Mako, the eldest daughter of Emperor Akihito, is set to give up her royal title in order to marry Kei Komuro, a commoner. They both met while they were students at Tokyo’s International Christian University. © Pintrest As of now, Komuro works as a paralegal at a law firm, but he is still remembered for appearing in a tourism campaign for Japan, in which he played the “Prince of the Sea.” © Twitter So since that doesn’t technically make him an actual prince, Princess Mako must give up her royal status in order to marry him. Even though women ultimately cannot inherit Japan’s Chrysanthemum Throne, this is still a reality for all female members of the imperial royal family. Due to this, Princess Mako was never even in line for the throne. But her father, Prince Akishino, is the brother of Crown Prince Naruhito, which puts him second in line to the throne, as Prince Naruhito has only one daughter. And, Princess Mako’s younger brother, Prince Hisahito, is third in the order of succession. © Reuters But this new system is comparatively new. Before 1947, female members of the Imperial family could inherit the throne and were not required to leave the royal family after they married. Before this, the last female member of the Imperial family to give up her royal status in a similar situation was Princess Mako’s aunt, Sayako, formerly known as Princess Nori. The news of this impending engagement has revived the debate about this law and has also raised concerns about the future of the monarchy. © Twitter Komuro, when asked about the news by reporters, said, “I would like to talk about it when the time comes.”
  24. Japanese Princess Mako, the eldest granddaughter of Emperor Akihito, will become a commoner after she weds a former college classmate, Japanese media reported. Japan's cabinet is expected to approve a bill on Friday to allow Akihito, 83, to step down, the first abdication by a Japanese emperor in nearly two centuries after he said last August he feared age would make it hard to fulfil his duties. But the legislation will make no reference to the controversial topics of whether to revise a males-only succession law or to allow women to stay in the imperial family after marriage, a move conservatives fear would be a first step to letting females inherit the throne. Asked about the problem of the shortage in royals, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference on Wednesday: "There is no change in our view to proceed with consideration of steps to ensure stable imperial succession." The 25-year-old Mako's unofficial fiance, Kei Komuro, appeared before media cameras on Wednesday outside the Tokyo law office where he works, a day after the news of their engagement broke. The Imperial Household Agency declined to comment. "Now is not the time for me to comment, but I want to speak at the right time," Komuro, 25, repeatedly told reporters. Komuro, who media said once served as a "Prince of the Sea" to promote tourism in a locality near Tokyo, did say he'd had a brief phone conversation with Mako on Tuesday. There are only four heirs to the throne - Akihito's two middle-aged sons, whose wives are in their early 50s, Akihito's octogenarian brother, and Prince Hisahito, the ten-year-old son of Akihito's younger son. Akihito has only four grandchildren, the other three of whom are female - Mako, her younger sister, Kako, and Crown Prince Naruhito's daughter, Aiko. The shrinking royal population - which mirrors the broader trend of Japanese society - has raised concerns that the youngest prince may also be the last. "Under the present system, there is the risk that Hisahito will be the only one left in the imperial family," Keio University Professor Hidehiko Kasahara was quoted by media as telling an experts panel that studied the abdication issue. Mako, who like her groom-to-be graduated from International Christian University, has a master's degree from the University of Leicester and has been working as a researcher at a museum.
