  1. The pandemic has brought about a stupid side of people that have forced us to believe that common sense is not at all common. A lot of people don’t understand the grim situation that the world is in amid the health crisis that we are facing. Recently, a 35-year-old Coronavirus positive man ran away from the isolation ward of SN Medical College in Agra just because he was craving pan masala. Yes, you read that right! © BCCL He fought with the staff and fled the ward to buy pan masala. He went to a shop and after sufficing his craving, he visited the house of a friend. The authorities of the isolation ward informed the police and then an hour-long search was conducted to trace the patient and that’s when he was found at his relative’s house. Now, everyone who met him including his friend and family is put under quarantine due to his stupidity. © BCCL He expressed to the authorities that he couldn’t find any pan shops open that day and so he had to go a bit farther. He then decided to visit his friend and his friend was unaware of his Coronavirus report status. Here’s what people on Twitter have to say about the incident- Aur Bolo Zubaan Kesari ! — Sumeet Singh Thakur (@thakurtohgayo) July 14, 2020Heights of insanity....is this how we are going to eradicate this virus or people literally want to stay idle for lives 🤯 — Ambica (@Ambica2580) July 14, 2020Please put out the name, picture and address of such crooks. Important to shame them — Unapologetic_nationalist 🇮🇳 (@sanjayrao2009) July 14, 2020Shd give him a few punches on his mouth & it will be filled with red pan masala. — Frontal Assault (@AssaultFrontal) July 14, 2020The patient also requested the family to admit him in a private hospital for treatment. Now, he is under a strict watch at the isolation ward of SN Medical College. It was also reported that he is mentally unstable and will take further treatment as well. View the full article
  2. From being portrayed as perennial macho men with a penchant for saving damsels to showing their vulnerable side and being open to emotions, Bollywood's portrayal of male characters has sure come a long way. Back in the early 80s, men were shown as larger-than-life characters with the focus mostly on this burning rage that they carried within them all the time. The concepts of 'ladke rote nahi hai' and 'mard ko dard nahi hota' were pretty much a constant back in the day for Indian cinema but now, things have changed drastically as male characters are challenging stereotypes. Here are 7 brilliant male characters that we have seen in Bollywood movies, who opened the dialogue around the notion that men are not just about being 'strong', 'tough', 'angry' and 'manly': 1. Shahid Kapoor As Aditya Kashyap - Jab We Met © T-Series Aditya Kashyap in Jab We Met is a very beautifully written character and anyone who has seen the movie can attest to that. Here we have a man who wants to create a safe environment for a woman, a complete stranger, who's travelling with him. He is humble, poised, and someone who thinks about others before himself. He makes sure that Geet is comfortable in the journey with him, showing the audience that men can be trusted and are not just mere stalkers, whose goal is to simply chase down the woman, irrespective of her wishes. "Haan, main tujhe bahut pasand karta hoon par woh mera problem hai. Tujhe tension lene ki koi zaroorat nahin. (Yes, I love you but thatâs my problem. You don't have to worry about it)," this dialogue by him just goes on to show the depths of his personality. 2. Vikrant Massey As Amol - Chhapaak © FoxStarHindi When you fall for someone, one of the first things to strike is looks and beauty. But, Amol in Chhapaak is here to show you a different side of men who believe that love is not just about falling for looks alone and that the person on the inside also matters. Amol falls for Malti's courage, ethics, and how she deals with all her sorrows. That in itself is what makes her beautiful to him, even though her face was left disfigured from the acid attack. 3. Shah Rukh Khan As Kabir Khan - Chak De! India © YRF Kabir Khan is one of the very few male characters, who is a feminist, that we have seen on the big screen. He coaches a team of female national hockey players and does not go easy on them just because they are women, as it should be. Khan sees them as hockey players, not as women, making it clear right from the start that gender does not matter to him when it comes to doing his job. However, he is also someone who does not hold back from reminding the girls from time to time how strong they are as women. True feminism. 4. Manav Kaul As Ashok Dube- Tumhari Sullu © T-Series Ashok Dube, another well-crafted character, shows how a man, in a household, is capable of making drastic changes to his life and give the reins over to his better half, if need be. His wife takes on a job of being an RJ at night who hosts a live show and talks to people, especially men, who get addicted to her voice. She slowly starts earning way more than Ashok and this, somehow, affects him. But he does not let himself be consumed by the negative feelings and becomes supportive of his wife and her venture. Well, this is a beautiful transition of roles that we should celebrate. 5. Ayushmann Khurrana As Kartik Singh - Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan © T-Series A lot has already been talked about this particular project on how it challenged the stereotypes surrounding the LGBTQ community in our country. Kartik is a character who is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the portrayal of gay men in Bollywood. He shows how being gay does not necessarily make one 'girly' or 'feminine', something a lot of people still think to this day, and that they are regular people who just want what other couples want- acceptance and acknowledgement. 6. Arjun Kapoor As Kabir Kamlesh Bansal - Ki And Ka © Eros Now When the movie released in 2016, people couldn't stop raving about Arjun's progressive character, a man who aspires to be a house husband. For years, we have seen movies with women taking command of the kitchen and running the house, but here we have Kabir who has no qualms in doing the household chores and letting his wife earn. 7. Amitabh Bachchan As Bhashkor Banerjee - Piku © Sony Entertainment Pictures Our dads may sure be liberal but we cannot, in no way, indulge in a conversation about our virginity with them. And then there is Bhashkor, who is changing that notion as he doesn't shy away in accepting, publically, that his daughter Piku is sexually active and he has no issues with that. These characters make us want to celebrate men in a very different way and we are glad that Bollywood is evolving towards a progressive direction through these brilliant characters. 3. John Cenaâs love and admiration for India and its people are well known. The man not only loves the WWE Universe from the second largest population in the world, but also actively takes interest in the ongoing events in the country, be it the unfortunate deaths of celebrated Bollywood actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, or the season finale of Bigg Boss 13. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@johncena) However, over the years, Cena has shown his respect for yet another actor on more than one occasion, and has even spoken about how he gets inspired by the âKingâ, Shah Rukh Khan. Here are four times WWE Superstar John Cena proved that he is a big Shahrukh Khan fan: 1. Appreciating His Relentlessness: View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@johncena) If you didnât know this yet, Cena maintains a rather interesting Instagram account on which he shares random images without giving an explanation about them in the caption. On February 19, 2018, he shared this image of SRKâs with his quote: âItâs not necessary that the world will accept your creativity but donât give up on it.â 2. Learning To Joke About Oneself View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@johncena) He shared yet another SRK quote in which the actor was talking about how he laughs at himself which, in turn, keeps him humble even at the peak of all the fame and fortune. This is something Cena has implemented in his own life too. If you watch any of his interviews, more often than not, he jokes about himself just to make others laugh, even though he was the face of WWE for over a decade. 3. Value of Money:âNeither power nor poverty can make your life more magical or less torturousâ Shah Rukh Khan â John Cena (@JohnCena) July 9, 2018 Very rarely does a person reach such a place in life when money stops becoming an issue for them. But despite the heavy bank-balance, is that person content? John Cena went on Twitter this time to share King Khanâs wisdom with his followers. This time around, SRK responded to Cenaâs tweet. Calling him a hero that millions of kids from all over the world look up to. Thanks my friend for spreading the goodness. Itâs important to inspire so many kids who look up to u as their hero. https://t.co/nTyGVSrrrr â Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) July 9, 2018 4. âThoughts On Humanity, Fame and LoveâThis was randomly put up in a small article by @theCHIVE very glad i stumbled across it https://t.co/jZ8gLONB6k via @TEDTalks â John Cena (@JohnCena) December 21, 2017 In a TedTalk video SRK spoke about how he has evolved with humanity, the inclusion of the internet in our lives and redefining himself to adapt to fame and making others understand the expression of love. Cena came across the video and liked it so much that he shared it from his Twitter handle. Once again, the badshah replied to his tweet, thanking him for the support with some witty inclusions: thx for taking out time to âSeeâ it. Wish I can âSee uâ someday. Love & health to u my man. https://t.co/P8GyVWjAzT â Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) December 22, 2017 View the full article
  4. Back in 2004, the sight of Dinesh Karthik - horizontal on the ground - as he stumped Michael Vaughan to record his first dismissal as a wicket-keeper for his country, was probably the first sign of Indian cricket's tryst with athleticism. In a generation that valued skill and technique over athleticism, Karthik was a bright spark that failed to make a mark at the international stage. His international career never took off as, by the time he began producing consistent performances in domestic cricket, the wicket-keeping batsmen's role was well taken over by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. While Dhoni made his presence felt from behind the stumps and later took over the reins as India's captain, Karthik's failure to make his second chances count further pushed him in abyss. For a man who has played a second fiddle to MS Dhoni in major part of his career, Karthik finally had his moment of glory and fame when he smashed a six off the final ball to power India to a thrilling four-wicket win over Bangladesh in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy final. If that knock allowed Karthik to earn the elusive spotlight, it further cemented his spot in the Team India's squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup. Since then, Karthik has been in and around the Indian cricket team. And, even if Dhoni's future looks bleak, Karthik is still isn't sure about his place in the Indian team, especially with the team management and selectors backing young Rishabh Pant. But, Karthik, like for the better part of his career, isn't complaining. Rather than getting upset or frustrated with the lack of opportunities and focussing on the cricketers being favoured by the selectors, Karthik is going about his business, improving his own skills - something he has done throughout his career. Thus, as he turns 35 today, let's recall five moments where his humility left everyone singing his praise. 'MSD's A Topper, I'm Still Studying' © Twitter/@BCCI Despite lurking in the shadows of Dhoni all these years, Karthik has nothing but praise for the former Indian captain. Days after winning the Nidahas Trophy final, Karthik lauded MSD for his unmatched skills and invaluable experience. "When it comes to Dhoni, I am studying in the university in which he is the topper," Karthik was quoted as saying by Times Now. "So, it is unfair for me to be compared with him. I've started my journey. It (final heroics) has given me a new wind of hope. His journey has been totally different. I've always been an understudy. I've always looked up to him. Today he is helping out the youngsters. The way he has gone on from strength to strength is for people to see and learn," he added. After winning over fans with his batting, Karthik's response to his comparison with Dhoni highlighted that this Indian cricketer can not only play like a champion, but also talk like one. 'It's All Good Karma' © Twitter/@BCCI For a cricketer who has always been overlooked in favour of younger, but more proven Team India stars, Karthik, following his match-winning knock for India, was just happy to have finally achieved arguably the best moment of his career. "It feels good that all the attention is on me. All the good karma and good things I have done over the years helped me hit that six. It is just that the shot went for a six...probably the two mm extra that it went for it became a six. It is hard for me to put in words. I am just happy to play this sport. When you play domestic cricket, it is a hard grind, To suddenly get so much attention feels so good but you also know that you want this to be a start of something special," Karthik said. Aiding Under-Fire Shankar © Twitter/@ICC In a match where Karthik didn't just succeed but excelled with every stroke, his team mate Vijay Shankar was quite the opposite. The Indian rookie, batting for the first time in international cricket, succumbed to pressure and failed to get bat on the ball on many occasions. His forgettable outing also made him the subject of immense criticism, especially when he was promoted ahead of Karthik in the batting order. However, when everyone was throwing insults at the youngster, Karthik came out in support of Shankar. "Vijay Shankar has the skill. He has done really well as a bowler. For someone, who is a batting all-rounder, he did well under pressure. I see a really good future for him. He has got a good attitude. He is a special talent and he has it in him to play for a long, long time," Karthik said. 'First-Aid Kit For Team India' © Twitter/@DineshKarthik While his brilliant innings did get him a spot in the Team squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup, Karthik wasn't ready to take things for granted. He was selected ahead of much-hyped Rishabh Pant for the 50-over spectacle in England, but the right-hander was well aware of the reality and humble in his approach. Talking about his selection, Karthik, once again, left everyone drooling with his comments. "Look, as far as MS Dhoni is concerned, I am just that small first-aid kit that will travel with the team. If he (Dhoni) gets injured then I will be the band-aid for a day. I am, however, aware that I can bat at No. 4 or be the finisher, if given an opportunity. Post IPL, I will prepare everyday knowing and believing that I can deliver purely as a batsman as I have performed that role earlier," he told TOI. Tackling Russell's Criticism Like A Pro © Twitter/@KKRiders During the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) found themselves struggling following their six consecutive losses. Losing their game against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Andre Russell slammed captain Karthik and KKR for "making bad decisions". But, Karthik didn't lose his cool, rather he handled the situation like a pro. Marshalling his troops with a reinvented vigour, Karthik's captaincy didn't just help KKR in breaking their losing streak, but also managed to upset one of the strongest IPL teams in Mumbai Indians. If that wasn't enough, the fact that Karthik went on to shower praise on Russell further gave proof of his champion mentality. "It's a high pressure sport, a high octane tournament, you've got to make sure everybody's in a great space, give them the best chance to do well and stay healthy. A lot of bickering and back-biting can go on in these sorts of situations. I'm very aware of it and (I) make sure nothing like that happens. Russell is a great player, he's a special player and it's good to see him grow as a player. The maturity he's showing is great to see," Karthik had said. View the full article
  5. For someone who was was cut from a football team and lived in Florida with only $7 in his pocket, Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as 'The Rock, has now become one of the most inspiring success stories for the youth. Born into a family of pro wrestlers, it was only a matter of time for Johnson to follow in the footsteps of his parents, but no one could have anticipated where the young lad would eventually reach in the years to come. © Reuters Making his debut in World Wrestling Federation (WWF), rechristened as WWE later, in 1996, the budding wrestler had his own share of struggles initially. But, under the tutelage of his idol Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, the youngster embarked on a journey that eventually took him to the pinnacle of pro wrestling. Winning his first WWF Championship in 1998, 'The Rock' played a key role in helping the WWF usher into the 'Attitude Era' - a boom period in the company's business in the late 90s and early 2000s which still holds professional wrestling records for TV ratings. In 2004, he left WWE to pursue an acting career and went on a seven-year hiatus before returning as a part-time performer in 2011. © Instagram He eventually announced his retirement from WWE for good in 2019 but by the time he was done, 'The Rock' had established himself as one of the greatest professional wrestlers and biggest draws of all-time. Today, he is not only a wrestling legend but also a successful actor, producer and businessman. With an estimated net worth of over $300 million, 'The Rock' has pretty much everything one can dream of. Thanks to his massive fanbase, he is also making an absolute killing on social media. According to the Instagram Richlist for 2019, the 47-year-old earns a whopping $882,000 (Rs 6,73,73,775) per post. While a lot of celebrities have their own ways of monetising their posts, the success mantra for 'The Rock' is pretty simple: be yourself. The Buff Lesbian? 6. India is in the middle of witnessing the entire nation fight against a deadly virus that is rapidly claiming innocent lives across the globe. With more than 15 lakh active coronavirus cases all over the world, and as many as 210 countries fighting the COVID-19 outbreak, doctors everywhere are fighting a tough battle day and night to save lives. © Twitter While doctors, nurses and medical staff continue to risk their lives on the frontlines in service of the nation and people, many others capable of lending a helping hand have stepped forward to offer their service and expertise. Just like these 5 popular public figures who have set aside their mainstream careers in order to help doctors and people defeat the life-threatening infection. 1. Ashish Gokhale © Instagram Ashish began his acting journey back in 2015 with a ZEE TV primetime soap opera Kumkum Bhagya and later went on to star alongside Akshay Kumar in Gabbar Is Back. But before setting out on this journey, Ashish was a full-time doctor practising at a private hospital in Juhu. Whatâs more, even until mid-march, Dr Ashish was shooting in the morning and working as a doctor at night. Even now, he is out there on the frontlines fighting the coronavirus outbreak in Mumbai 24x7. © Instagram 2. Leo Varadkar © Twitter/ABC News We all know who this kind man is. The Irish Prime Minister is a certified doctor who quit his practise to join politics. Now amid the coronavirus outbreak, PM Varadkar will be serving as a registered doctor during one shift per week. Shikha Malhotra © Pisceann Pictures Shikha is an actress by passion and a nurse by vocation. The 25-year-old has acted in regional cinema, but holds a nursing degree from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. 7. The Internet is an absolutely crazy place. It will make you see stuff and believe things you shouldnât. But with its superpower of virality, topped with the invention of great photo editing tools, we often find ourselves looking at viral photos which seem too real. Alas, thatâs the honey trap we tend to fall for every other day. Just like these 5 photos that went viral online because people believed them to be true but actually turned out to be fake. These photos created a lot of buzz around themselves because they were posted on the internet at an opportune moment and exploited an already roaring online trend. From changing the original context to photoshopping images, these have them all. 1. Prince Charles & Kanika KapoorNo wonder Prince Charles....#Corona #KanikaKapoor pic.twitter.com/k44ALoMDfz â Rajan ð®ð³ (@MissdOportunity) March 25, 2020Soon after it was announced that Prince Charles had tested positive for coronavirus, pictures of Prince Charles and Kanika Kapoor, who also tested positive for COVID-19 last week, happily chatting together began doing the rounds online. People on Twitter even began suggesting that this was probably how the Prince of Wales contracted the infection. However, in reality the pictures are from an old event and not recent. 2. âLast Momentâ Picture Of APJ Abdul Kalam © Twitter Soon after former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalamâs sudden demise due to a cardiac arrest in 2015, this image started doing the rounds on multiple online platforms claiming this was the âlast momentâ right before he passed away. However, thatâs false because this picture originally dates back to 2007 when APJ Abdul Kalam accidently slipped on a dais during an award function at the Sangeet Natak Akademi. 3. PM Modi Touching Sonia Gandhiâs Feet © BCCL In April last year, a photo showing PM Modi touching Sonia Gandhiâs feet went viral on social media. The context of the picture claimed that PM Modi was begging Sonia Gandhi to go easy on him following Rahul Gandhiâs attempts to uncover the PMâs âjumlasâ. However, it later turned out that the image was photoshopped from a 2013 picture of PM Modi touching LK Advaniâs feet during a public event. 4. Ranu Mondalâs Scary Makeover Photo © Instagram Ranu Mondal was one of the biggest online sensations of last year, and became an overnight social media celebrity after her melodious rendition of Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai broke the internet. However, following the news of her âmakeoverâ, pictures of Ranu in gaudy makeup began surfacing online. People began spewing hate on the makeup artist for the terrible makeup, but it later turned out that the picture had been edited which made Ranu look as weird as she did. The makeup artist took to her Instagram account to make things clear. 5. Ranbir-Aliaâs Wedding Invite © BCCL In October last year, an invitation card went viral online claiming that it was Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhattâs official wedding invitation for the coupleâs âJanuary 2020â wedding. The invitation details bore the names of Ranbir and Aliaâs parents and claimed that the couple is set to tie the knot on January 22, 2020 at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. However, on closer inspection many discrepancies were noticed and the card was confirmed to be fake. View the full article
  8. Auto Expo 2020 was in full swing this week with dozens of launches, concept car showcases and exciting new directions for the world of automotive engineering. While the lionâs share of podiums and presentations went to four-wheelers and exciting new concepts for Indian electric vehicles or EVs, the revolution has picked up immensely for two-wheelers as well. Dozens of scooters, motorcycles - even ATVs and trikes were displayed, all with zero emissions and the latest in electric motor technology. We met up with Hero Electric MD, Naveen Munjal, for a few insights into the horizons faced by electric vehicle manufacturers today. âWeâve introduced these new vehicles this time around to basically test the market - to see if there is a market for these kinds of products - how big the market is,â he explains. âSo far, the interest weâve been getting is amazing. We havenât quoted any kind of price right now, but people are coming out and telling us that the product is right for them.â © Sharan Sanil; The AE-47 Electric Sports Concept. Seems to take heavy design cues from Hondaâs CB300R. Hero decided to go all guns blazing for the concept vehicles they had on show - with the most powerful and interesting being the above-pictured AE-47. âThis motorcycle, for example, is taking on the premium segment as a high-performance vehicle capable of around 100-odd kmph and a range of around 80 to 120km, depending on usage,â continued Munjal. âThe model aims to target say, a customer who enters the EV market by buying a low-speed vehicle, and may want to graduate to a higher-speed motorcycle down the line. We donât want this customer to leave our ecosystem, unless they move on to an electric car which isnât our space as a company.â This is all indicative of long-term plans - both by manufacturers as well as buyers. With the recent shifts in government deadlines for vehicle makers, the pressure is on, to create not just an accessible and well-supported electric market - but to do so without intimidating customers. Several first-time potential buyers are faced with two kinds of teething issues with EVs today - charge time and what Munjal terms as ârange anxietyâ, referring to the worry that electric vehicles will run out of charge before reaching a destination. © Sharan Sanil; The AE-3 electric trike features a special gyroscopic sensor - it aims to help underconfident beginners and senior citizens feel planted, stable and confident on a traditional two-wheeler setup. âFor our current range of vehicles, we have all of them outfitted with portable batteries,â says Munjal, dismissing the former concern as unimportant. âEven if youâre living in an apartment block, you can take your battery home, charge it, plug it back in the next morning and go on for your commute. Anywhere, whether youâre going to your office or wherever - it fits into your lifestyle. You donât have to worry about having a charging station - that is immaterial.â âComing back to range anxiety, and people worrying about âwhat if [I run out of charge,]ââ explains Munjal, âweâve run experiments with our consumers where we provide (in some cities) 300 charging points in a 5km radius of their neighbourhoods. This helps them realise that if they do run out of charge, they can simply park and load their batteries. The sales in these areas have reflected an increase, showing that the initiative is working well for us - itâs about the comfort factor for our customers." If anything, the future for electric seems to be ever-morphing into the present. While most units on display were concepts, weâre assured that price and launch announcements will reach us sometime in 2020. In case you (like me) were interested in something a little more traditional and exciting, motorcyclists thronged around the Aprillia and Suzuki podiums, which featured some pretty incredible toys - although fan favourites such as KTM, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph, Honda and more were decidedly absent. © Sharan Sanil; Aprilliaâs RSV4 Factory-Spec model is a V4 all-Italian stallion - many consider it to be the best-sounding motorcycle of todayâs modern superbike roster. © Sharan Sanil; Moto Guzziâs V85TT is another mid-size scrambler with exotic credentials and an unusual quirk unique to the company, with their trademark transverse V-twin powerplants. © Sharan Sanil; A cheeky view of the Suzuki Katana - an 80s-90s legacy model revived after over 20 years. This slick Japanese Sport Tourer turned heads and will hopefully make it onto Indian shores. © Sharan Sanil; Possibly the biggest draw for racing enthusiasts at the Expo, Suzuki surprised us by bringing their MotoGP machine as a guest of honour at their podium. However, despite the petrol and internal combustion charms of these awesome bikes, Munjal reflects on how a lithium-ion powered future is anything but boring. âElectric is exciting,â exclaims Munjal. âRight now, in a lot of cases weâre making an effort to just get butts on the seats. Once you ride it, youâll understand just how exciting a product it is - a lot of people otherwise form their own opinions - itâs about just trying it once, and then youâll get sold on it.â View the full article
  9. They say a little luck goes a long way, but then we wonder what about all that truckloads worth of talent which holds the promise of taking you places? While it's true that neither of the two can exist without the other, let us give talent the due credit that it deserves. Regardless of the vocation you may be associated with - whether you call yourself a doctor, a graphic designer, an artist, an architect or an actor, plumber or a civil servant - luck alone wouldn't get you to the pinnacle of success that all of us are ultimately chasing. It takes raw, undiluted talent, and unbridled passion for your art or work to really ace it, or in other words, for it to take you places. These five underrated Bollywood actors who have won international awards for their valuable work in the field of acting only prove that talent has no boundaries. 1. Nawazuddin Siddiqui © Instagram/Nawazuddin Siddiqui Gaitonde doesn't really need an introduction anymore, does he? Nawaz went from playing a tiny role of a terrorist in Sarfarosh to shouldering massive box office hits such as Paan Singh Tomar, Gangs of Wasseypur I & II, The Lunchbox, Manjhi, Mom, Manto and Thackeray. Hours ago, Nawaz won the Golden Dragon Award at the 2019 Cardiff International Film Festival for excellence in cinema in the global arena. 2. Rajkummar Rao © Instagram/Rajkummar Rao For Rajkummar Rao his career has been extremely colourful in terms of the kind of roles he has done. Right from Raagini MMS, Kai Po Che, Shahid, Trapped, to Newton, Stree and Bareilly Ki Barfi, he has proved his mettle time and again. For Newton, he was awarded the Variety Asia Rising Star and Best Actor at Asia Pacific Screen Awards 2017. 3. Irrfan Khan © Instagram/Irrfan Irrfan Khan has been a trailblazer for the Hindi film industry in a lot of ways. A powerhouse of talent, Irrfan has delivered some exceptionally memorable performances in recent times such as Maqbool, The Namesake, Paan Singh Tomar, Life of Pi, The Lunchbox, Piku, Hindi Medium and Qarib Qarib Singlle to name just a few. His role in The Lunchbox won him the Best Actor award in Asian Film Awards and Dubai International Film Festival in 2014. 4. Manoj Bajpayee © Instagram/Manoj Bajpayee A multifaceted actor who created a space for himself within the Hindi film industry with fabulous performances as seen in films like Satya, Zubeidaa, Pinjar, Raajneeti and the like, Manoj Bajpayee was awarded the Best Actor Award at the Asia Pacific Screen Award 2016 for his killer performance in Hansal Mehta's Aligarh. 5. Naseeruddin Shah © Instagram/Naseeruddin Shah Another fireball of talent that Bollywood has failed to make the best of and explore to its truest potential, Naseeruddin Shah was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Dubai Film Festival in 2015, and the Best Actor Award at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival Awards 2016. 10. People adore Vijay Deverakonda, the OG Arjun Reddy. Not just for his acting but also for his stellar sense of dressing. In fact, his airport looks have been a point of major inspiration for men. Recently, for an airport look, Vijay decided to wear an intriguing outfit. He wore a plain white t-shirt with a long grey shrug and paired it with loose joggers. Rounding off his look was a hat. While Vijay Deverakonda is better known for his beard, he was seen in a clean-shaven look this time. And even this interesting combination was surprisingly working in his favour. Take a look: © Instagram/Viral Bhayani The thing about Vijay is that his versatile style keeps evolving. Earlier this year, he was spotted wearing a pair of Gucci sliders worth 45k that people couldn't stop talking about. Another time, he wore tie-up pants that looked like modern lungis. In fact, Vijay's joggers also remind us of the loose pants Ranveer Singh wore recently. When it comes to his films, Vijay Deverakonda is set for the release of his film, Meeku Maatrama Chepta this week on October 18, 2019 which is probably why we're seeing a couple of on-point outfits by him. Considering how experimental Vijay Deverakonda is, we can't wait to see his next airport look.
  11. If there was an award for someone who, even at the age of 62, can nail any silhouette, trend or prints right, it has to be the ageless actor Anil Kapoor. This actor defies age with his suave style and gives us enough reasons to look 'Jhakaas'. He recently caught our attention and we couldn't help but notice the way he layers his outfit each time. Get set to embrace the season with an assortment of outerwear styles that are sure to look great in your summer wardrobe. Let these pictures do the talking! 1. 12. Dheeraj Dhoopar is more than just a boy next door. He's popularly known for his acting in the serial 'Sasural Simar Ka', and 'Kundali Bhagaya'. Previously a model, Dheeraj Dhoopar is going to now be seen on TV in the new show 'Dance India Dance' as the anchor of the show. DID is one of the biggest Indian dance reality TV shows. The Indian TV scene is in a flux right now with brilliant actors and never before seen creativity taking centerstage. Dheeraj Dhoopar comes in the category of actors with stellar acting abilities who dazzle onscreen (he's so versatile he can romance a fly also) and off-screen with his stunning fashion sensibility. So here are five times Dheeraj Dhoopar dazzled us with his killer style. 1. Confused on how to work the denim on denim? Exhibit A, courtesy Dheeraj Dhoopar. © Dheeraj Dhoopar 2. 13. 'Not a perfect soldier, but a good man.' This is exactly the reason why Steve Rogers, a skinny guy with asthma, was chosen to become a super soldier. The serum was supposed to enhance his capabilities and yes, he wasn't the tallest or the strongest, but he was just an incredible person worthy of getting that serum and enhancing all his good qualities. It took him almost a decade and a bunch of movies to finally wield Mjolnir, but he had always been worthy and everyone knew that, even Thor himself. That expression says it all, he knew it then and there that this is the only person, other than himself, who possibly has the ability to hold the hammer and harness the power of Thor. Over the years, Steve Rogers has proved time and again that he will always do what's best for the greater good, making him the only other person worthy of wielding Mjolnir: 1. Taking On Bullies Yes, he 'can do this all day', and pre-serum, he did actually do it all day. A tiny, skinny dude who is so desperate to fight for his country, knows that bullies are the problem, and he himself made sure to do something about. He's always fought for what he thought was right, never backed down, much to Bucky's dismay, probably, since he always had to rescue his tiny friend. But, his willingness to take on anyone, even if he was skinny or ripped, makes it one of his best qualities, tbh. 2. Jumping On The Grenade Steve and Tony are just two self-sacrificing people and Steve has been actually proving that since the 1940s. Remember that scene which finally made everyone see he should get the serum? He finally joined the army, something he had wanted more than anything, but he was still willing to sacrifice himself even before he left to fight the real war if it meant saving everyone else. 3. Saving Bucky And Everyone Else Back in 'Captain America: The First Avenger', he was not allowed to actually fight the real fight but just act as a 'circus monkey'. Obviously, he didn't follow the orders, especially when it meant that hundreds of soldiers, including Bucky, were just gone. He straight up went to the enemy territory to save everyone, without even knowing if they were alive. He went alone, not knowing what was waiting for him and still managed to get everyone out. 4. Basically Saving Everyone Again, in the first Captain America movie, towards the end, he had no option but to land the jet in water - and killing himself while doing it - in order to save millions of people. He did not even hesitate to make that decision, obviously, even though he knew he would die and never have that dance with Peggy Carter. 5. Never Giving Up On Bucky Bucky has always been Steve's biggest weakness, and he for sure knows it. He even used that to his advantage in 'Avengers: Endgame' as well in the Cap vs Cap scene. Yes, Bucky was a brainwashed assassin and did truly terrible things, including killing Tony's parents, but Steve never ever gave up on his best friend, just like Bucky never did while saving pre-serum Steve from bullies. At the end of 'Winter Soldier', he just knew that he would be able to get his friend to remember him and was willing to die for it because he was that sure. Then again in 'Civil War', he went against everyone, even Tony, to defend Bucky and prove his innocence. They're honestly bff goals. 6. “We Don't Trade Lives” Yes, his righteous attitude did get annoying in 'Infinity War' but we don't expect anything else from him. Everyone watching the movie was getting frustrated about them willing to kill everyone to save Vision. If Wanda has destroyed the Mind Stone in the beginning, they would've saved the world. Since it wasn't himself that Steve had to sacrifice, there was no way in hell that he was going to let anyone else die. 7. Mjolnir Comes To Him And finally, I'm assuming that Mjolnir itself came to Steve in the final battle in 'Endgame' when Thanos is almost about to kill Thor. I mean, why would Steve randomly be extending his arm to call the hammer instead of, I don't know, jumping on Thanos' back and trying to get him off of Thor? Also, this is the best moment of the entire movie, and I'm willing to fight anyone who disagrees. I can't even explain how excited Steve holding the Mjolnir made me feel. I would also like to acknowledge Thor's reaction; it was so pure, no jealousy, no nothing, just excitement because he always knew Cap was worthy. In conclusion, Steve Rogers is the best person ever, even if he radiates dumb bitch energy sometimes.
  14. Karenjit Kaur Vohra better known as Sunny Leone, stood on the brink of bidding adieu to her teenage years as an 18-year-old when she made a decision that would change the course of her life. Then a trainee-nurse belonging to an astute Sikh family who had migrated to Canada, the glitzy world of softcore adult films had Karenjit hooked. © Instagram It didn't take long for Karenjit to turn into Sunny Leone, and by the age of 25 not only had she made a name for herself in hardcore adult films, but she was also disowned by legions of her extended family. India being one of the top consumers (at World #3) of adult films, took the nation by storm when Sunny made her television debut in her homeland back in 2011 with 'Bigg Boss' season 5. © Instagram The show's TRP went through the roof and marked the arrival of a new star people couldn't get enough of. Soon, Bollywood films followed and Sunny went on to make her film debut with 'Jism 2' in 2012. Though her films enjoyed mediocre success at the box office, Sunny Leone gave a number of superhit item songs that were nothing less than chartbusters (think 'Baby Doll'). However, even that went against her. Coupled with her past as an adult film star, she was turned into Bollywood's go-to Baby Doll i.e. item girl. © Instagram That's the overarching image Sunny has been forced to carry, which even her fans have very conveniently accepted. However, while there are 100 other aspects to the woman who is an actor, businesswoman, fighter, survivor, and mother besides many other roles that she plays in her life, these 5 things prove that Karenjit Kaur Weber is much more than 'Sunny Leone' and her Baby Doll identity: 1. Adopted A Girl Child © Instagram Very few celebrities in the country have set strong examples for others to follow, especially when it comes to adoption. Sunny did that by adopting her daughter Nisha when she was just 21-months-old. 2. Promoted Surrogacy © Instagram Next, she went a step further ahead and removed taboos related to surrogacy, and welcomed home her twin boys Asher and Noah, who were born via surrogacy in 2018. 3. She's An Entrepreneur © Instagram Last year, Sunny launched her first pop-store for her make-up brand called Star Struck By SL which enjoyed a great reception. Earlier, she had also launched her own perfume brand called Lust, which was such a hit it would constantly be sold out. 4. She's A Published Author © Instagram Two years ago in 2016, Sunny Leone brought out an e-book of erotic stories titled 'Sweet Dreams'. Published by Juggernaut, it's an assortment of stories that deal with love, romance and sexual desires. 5. She Supports Multiple Causes & Is A PETA Activist © Instagram Sunny Leone has often spoken about cancer and raised awareness about cruelty against animals, and not only that but she recently also came forward to support and create awareness on aquatic therapy for people with special needs.
  15. No matter what part of the world we are in, education is always given a ton of importance. In a way, it is projected as the only key to attaining wisdom, that would ultimately allow us to lead a life we are not only proud of, but one that also takes care of all our material needs throughout our lives. (c) Vinod Chopra Films Yet, what most people, especially in our society choose to overlook, is the fact that an education isn't the only “key” to getting there. A sharp mind, crafty skills and an inherent talent can also bring all that, and much more, to a person's life. Recently, during an appearance on 'The Kapil Sharma Show', 'Student of The Year 2' actor Tiger Shroff was asked by host Kapil Sharma what was the difference between a real and reel college, to which Tiger said that he was not aware of the difference since he never attended college, to begin with. He added that immediately after school he joined the sets of his first film 'Heropanti'. (c) Twitter Yet, if we look at Tiger's career graph, we can easily say that not going to college, and not completing his studies hasn't made him any less successful in the line of work, he chose for himself. Why? Because he had other skills, and a passion for his craft to make up for the lack of higher education on his resume. Just like Tiger Shroff, these following 5 actors also never attended college. Read about them here: 1. Aamir Khan (c) Twitter Aamir Khan was only 16-years-old when he acted in a silent film titled 'Paranoia'. His performance fetched him so much appreciation that he decided to ditch the idea of studying further and got into theatre instead. There was no looking back post that, and soon he became a full-time actor. 2. Alia Bhatt (c) Twitter Alia had just graduated from Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai, when she had to start shooting for her debut film with Karan Johar in 2012. Alia has often expressed that she was never into academics and enjoyed extra-curricular more than studying. We suppose acting was her best bet after all. Look at all the performances she 'dhoptoed' the audience with recently! 3. Salman Khan (c) Twitter Bollywood's big brother went to school at St Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. It is reported that he got himself enrolled in St Xavier's College but never attended because he wished to kick start his film career. Clearly, that was the best decision he made. Right? 4. Deepika Padukone (c) Twitter Deepika went to Sophia High School in Bangalore but could not complete her education because of the constant demands of her modelling career. She did get herself enrolled for a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from IGNOU, but quit eventually to focus on her modelling career full-time. 5. Arjun Kapoor (c) Twitter Arjun Kapoor's tryst with education hasn't been a very memorable one. Arjun attended Arya Vidya Mandir school in Mumbai, where he studied till 12th grade. However, he failed to clear his class 12th exams, and he quit his studies altogether. These Bollywood A-listers with just their school education to back them, besides truck-loads of talent, prove that success does not restrict itself to people with good degrees on their resumes. It'll come to those who follow their passion, work hard to live their dreams and know how to utilise their skills and talents to make a name for themselves and live life king size.
  16. Bollywood is often stated as an example of a place where Darwin's famous phrase “survival of the fittest” finds a level playground for every aspirant with a “Bollywood dream” to try their luck. However, what is also often stated is that it isn't about finding a way into the industry, but more of surviving in it. People don numerous hats to become a part of this star-studded industry, before finally getting the chance to do what they had really set out to do. The same goes for a number of prominent actors in the industry who started out as ADs and writers before finally facing the camera as actors. Today, we list down 5 actors who started their careers as background dancers and are known as prominent actors today. 1. Shahid Kapoor © Instagram Shahid started out as a regular struggling artist in Bollywood despite being Pankaj Kapoor's son. At the beginning of his career, he was seen in numerous advertisements, music videos and even in movies as a background dancer. He was seen in movies such as 'Taal' and 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai' 2. Dia Mirza © Instagram Dia Mirza holds the crown for Miss Asia Pacific 2000, but even she started out as a background dancer in south Indian films. She was seen in the 1999 Tamil film 'En Swasa Kaatre', in a song titled Jhumbalaka. 3. Sushant Singh Rajput © Twitter Before officially stepping into Bollywood as an actor, Sushant Singh Rajput performed as a background dancer as part of Shiamak Davar's dance company. He can be seen in the title track of Hrithik Roshan's 'Dhoom 2'. 4. Daisy Shah © Instagram Remember Salman Khan's film 'Tere Naam'? The one that inspired numerous young men to don Salman's look from the film. Well, the song 'Lagan Lagi' features Daisy Shah shaking a leg with Salman Khan. She was a well-known background dancer before she made her acting debut. 5. Arshad Warsi © Instagram A popular comic actor, he worked as a choreographer in the industry initially. However, he also performed as a background dancer a few times, like in the song titled Help Me from 'Aag Se Khelenge'.
  17. With the Indian Premier League in its second half, fans have seen quite a stir with the points table with respect to the position of the eight franchises of the league. While Virat Kohli's Royal Challenger Bangalore has shown signs of revival in the later days, other teams like the Kolkata Knight Riders who were considered to be above average, have slumped down the order. But that does not mean that a T20 match between the below-par teams like KKR and Rajasthan Royals cannot fill the stadium with a jolt of excitement and loud cheers. After losing the toss against Steve Smith at the Eden Gardens arena, Dinesh Karthik and team were asked to bat first. The Knight Riders openers, Chris Lynn (0 runs) and Shubhman Gill (13 runs) played small, underwhelming innings before getting dismissed at the hands of Royals' Varun Aaron. In came the KKR skipper, who had been under the microscope ever since India's 15-man squad for ICC World Cup 2019 was announced a couple of weeks ago and Karthik was chosen to represent the nation over a younger Rishabh Pant and people were sceptical about the Tamil Nadu-born cricketer and his ability as a batsman. But DK showed to the world that he is more than capable as a finisher and has the potential of becoming the backbone of the team that could support the entire batting innings of a team. And yes, this was an Indian Premier League match and sure there is a huge difference between a national-level T20 league match and an ODI match at the stature that of the World Cup, but this is about Karthik's characteristics as a fine cricketer. Scoring just three runs in the first 10 deliveries, Karthik realised that it was time for him to take hold of the steering wheel and become the leader in terms of building a respectable total for their opponents when other batsmen around him failed to stick to the crease. 18. “Show us pictures or it didn't happen!” We're pretty sure this is something we all have said to our friends at some point or the other. Like, seriously. You went to Coachella and if you didn't upload at least 100 stories and pictures on your Instagram, then did you really even go? But hey, pictures can be deceiving sometimes, and influencers like Gabbie Hanna are here to prove it time and again. She decided to do a little experiment and faked a weekend at Coachella using, well, Photoshop. She also used footage from friends who actually did go to the festival. Better yet, she also made a YouTube video explaining why she pulled off this stunt. She was apparently inspired by other YouTubers who have faked their trips before. But one of the main reasons why she did this in the first place was to prove just how easy it is to lie on social media. As you can see in the video, she hired a photographer to click pretty pictures of her. Instead of spending time at Coachella, she booked an Airbnb and spent her weekend there taking pictures. You can check out all her pictures on her Instagram, the captions of which have now been changed to say, “Oops, I faked it!” View this post on Instagram A post shared by GABBIE HANNA (@gabbiehanna) on Apr 21, 2019 at 2:44pm PDT Hanna goes on to talk about how social media, for most people, has become a platform to post highly curated and manipulated pictures of them having fun. She warns her followers to be careful about what you see online and not get caught up in the hype.
  19. While relationships are taking a progressive turn every passing day, there are still people pointing fingers at some couples who've found their comfortable footing in one another. Not only is this hypocrisy but it's also an amalgamation of a complete violation of the right to privacy. What am I talking about? Well, Bollywood is setting their fair share of examples by dating people who're way younger or older and while that's endearing and very acceptable in society, many people criticise age difference like it's something illegal. © Instagram But to be fair, dating older women or younger men is a definite progression towards stable relationships as they're emotionally more grounded and binding and there's a maturity to them which makes them whole. So, in lieu of that, I am going to list 6 Bollywood relationships which have been mighty successful, even with a vast age difference lurking in between: (1) Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas © Instagram The desi-videshi pair met through common friends some time back and they just tied the knot 3 months ago. While Priyanka is 35 and Nick 25, they cherish and celebrate the 10-year age gap between them, even though they've been trolled for it tremendously in the past. But that hasn't deterred the couple's love or social media appreciation for one another in any way and we love to see them together, every now and then! (2) Sushmita Sen & Rohman Shawl © Instagram It feels like Rohman was a breath of fresh air in Sush's life. The actress seems very happy and content with her life right now and she has someone super supportive to share it with her. Rohman and Shushmita share a 16-year age gap, but they definitely do complete each other, in every way. From him getting along well with her daughters, to her supporting him at his fashion shows, to them making work-out home videos together, it really seems like bringing up the age gap they share is absolutely redundant! (3) Soha Ali Khan & Kunal Kemmu © Instagram The starlit princess and the boy-next-door fell in love with each other on the sets of 'Dhoondte Reh Jaoge' and the rest is, of course, history! After a long live-in relationship, the couple tied the knot in 2015, despite the fact that Kunal is 5 years younger than Soha. They have a beautiful daughter named Inaaya Naumi Kemmu and they really couldn't be happier. (4) Preity Zinta & Gene Goodenough © Instagram Although the age gap isn't much between the two, it is still frowned upon by many people who love to criticise relentlessly. But that doesn't bother Preity, who tied the knot with Gene in LA and they've been living happily since. I guess he's 'Goodenough' for her! (5) Bipasha Basu & Karan Singh Grover © Instagram The two had issues getting married as Bips' mom was against her marrying someone who is 4 years younger than her. But that didn't stop the happy couple from tying the knot and living happily since. They believe in unhampered PDA and never shy away from a lot of social media love! (6) Neha Dhupia & Angad Bedi © Instagram When Neha married Angad, she was trolled on social media for marrying someone two years younger than her but they also took many by surprise when they decided to announce their wedding on Instagram, and they looked mighty happy together. Best friends before, married now, the couple has had quite an astounding journey and their age gap definitely has nothing to do with it! So, if Bollywood can set a keen example of older women dating younger men, it's time you stop frowning upon it too and look for someone who truly makes you happy; older or younger, who cares, right?
  20. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fold last month and since then, the smartphone has been shown off by the South Korean company in various videos. A new video was recently shared by Samsung that shows off the phone undergoing stressful durability tests when it comes to folding. The folding test reveals that the Galaxy Fold is capable of withstanding over 2 lakh folds which roughly translates to five years of usage if you fold/unfold 100 times a day. The Galaxy Fold will be coming to India later this year as confirmed by DJ Koh at the Galaxy S10's launch event. The Galaxy Fold has a 4.6-inch single folding AMOLED display and can be turned into a tablet with a screen size of 7.3-inches. The outer 21:9 screen has a resolution of 840x1960 and the unfolded screen has a resolution of 1,536 x 2,152. The video shows the device being folded and unfolded numerous times and took about a full week to complete the test. The test was conducted to check the durability of the hinge in the smartphone. Previous reports have suggested that Galaxy Fold has a noticeable grease in the display which was not visible in this particular video. In other specifications, the Galaxy Gold has six total cameras, three at the back, two inside and one at the front. The triple camera set up at the back has a 12-MP wide-angle camera, a 12-MP telephoto camera and a 16-MP ultra-wide camera. Inside, the Galaxy Fold has a 10-MP selfie camera and an 8-MP depth camera whereas the single outer selfie camera a has the 10-MP sensor. © Youtube_Samsung The Galaxy Fold does work seamlessly with Android apps when folding and unfolding the device while developers have also been asked to make minor changes to take advantage of the multi-window feature. Currently, the Galaxy Fold is expected to sell in international markets for $1980 and Indian pricing and availability has not been revealed yet.

  23. After 'Gully Boy' happened, a number of artists came under the limelight - some for their acting chops, and some for their rapping gift. While Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Varma fall under the former, rappers like Divine and Naezy belong to the latter. One cutthroat rapper in particular who made the headlines, more so because of 'destroying' Raftaar in a rap battle, is Emiway Bantai. While people can't stop praising his fierce rap game, most don't know that his style game is inimitable as well. Here are 10 pictures which prove that. 1.
