  1. Emila Clarke aka 'the Mother of Dragons' is a brilliant actress but sometimes, actors draw inspiration from their real-life journey to ensure the strong portrayal of their on-screen character. Emilia Clarke, turns out, is a true warrior in real-life as well. The 'GOT' actress recently opened up about her insane struggle fighting two life-threatening brain surgeries right after the first season closed back in 2011. Speaking about how it began and what actually happened, she explained in detail, “It was in 2011 after the filming of the first season of GoT. The publication quoted Emilia saying, “At some level, I knew what was happening: my brain was damaged. For a few moments, I tried to will away the pain and nausea.” She was only 24 then and was desperate to give up on life. "In my worst moments, I wanted to pull the plug. I asked the medical staff to let me die.” View this post on Instagram YUP. My people did good. Hours and I mean HOURS later. She found her light. @dior @petraflannery @jennychohair @kateleemakeup @jennahipp #emmys2018 #werollin #ð¥ #ðªð» A post shared by @ emilia_clarke on Sep 17, 2018 at 4:00pm PDT As an actor, everything changed for her and life felt like a big question mark after her first major surgery. “I'd never experienced fear like that — a sense of doom closing in. I could see my life ahead, and it wasn't worth living. I am an actor; I need to remember my lines. Now I couldn't recall my name. For a few moments, I tried to will away the pain and the nausea. I said to myself, “I will not be paralyzed.” I moved my fingers and toes to make sure that was true. To keep my memory alive, I tried to recall, among other things, some lines from Game of Thrones.” View this post on Instagram Just for the halibut. Im resolving to try to laugh more in 2019 than 2018. Join me if you feel like it. #â¤ï¸#ð¥ #youareyourownbestbetbaby A post shared by @ emilia_clarke on Jan 1, 2019 at 3:22am PST The struggle continued when she had to undergo another surgery and her struggle resumed. “I emerged from the operation with a drain coming out of my head. Bits of my skull had been replaced by titanium. These days, you can't see the scar that curves from my scalp to my ear, but I didn't know at first that it wouldn't be visible. And there was, above all, the constant worry about cognitive or sensory losses. Would it be concentration? Memory? Peripheral vision? Now I tell people that what it robbed me of is good taste in men. But, of course, none of this seemed remotely funny at the time.” Who knew that a human, who takes up the task of entertaining people with her job, is undergoing and enduring so much pain in her life off-camera. This story proves that Emilia is a real-life warrior, a true 'Khaleesi' in the real sense!

  4. Back in 2013, when Neymar joined Barcelona, the world of football was busy contemplating the attacking threat he'd pose alongside Lionel Messi for the Catalan giants. A year later, the arrival of Luis Suarez at Camp Nou allowed Barcelona to boast of one of the deadliest attacking trios in club football. What was soon labelled as 'MSN', the partnership between Messi, Neymar and Suarez allowed Barcelona to scale new heights as the Spanish giants went past one opponent after another, adding more silverware to their trophy cabinet. But, the iconic partnership came to an end in 2017 when Neymar decided to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for a record 222-million-euro fee. © Reuters Since then, there has been a lot of speculation about Neymar's departure from the La Liga club. While some suggested that he was unhappy with the wages, others claimed that Neymar was tired of playing under the shadows of Barca talisman Messi. In fact, a few days ago, Neymar's father had to clarify that Messi had nothing to do with his son's exit from Barcelona. Following in the footsteps of his father, Neymar, too, has come out praising Messi's influence during his stint at Barcelona. In an emotional interview with publication Globo Esporte, the Brazilian revealed how welcoming the Argentine was when he was finding his footing at Camp Nou. © Reuters "It's a story I tell everyone. At the time when I needed the most support, the man on the team, the best in the world, came and gave me love. Leo was a very special guy for me at Barcelona. He talked to me and said: '[When you] come here, you must be yourself, you must be happy and the same as in Santos. Do not be shy, do not be afraid of me or anyone in this club. We are here to help you'," Neymar revealed. Following his departure from Barcelona, Neymar has gone on to form another deadly partnership with Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani at PSG. While he is currently nursing his injury, Neymar has proved to be a vital cog in the PSG set-up, scoring 48 goals in 53 appearances. The 27-year-old is expected to make a comeback for PSG in the vital second-leg clash against Manchester United in the Round Of 16 tie of the ongoing Champions League on 7th March.
  5. Kartik Aaryan has claimed his spot in Bollywood after a number of stellar performance since his debut and epic monologue in 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' in 2011. Rajjo became an instant hit and his rant on men's situation in a heterosexual relationship went viral on social media like a forest wildfire. © Viacom 18 Cut to 2018, with a number of notable performances over the years in between, 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' turned out to be another major hit of Kartik's filmy career. So it is only expected that Kartik would have celebrated this big moment and success, and boy did he own it. 9. Love may be the most powerful feeling known to mankind, but more than anything else, love is a celebration. A celebration of the life we love and are grateful for. A celebration of loving ourselves for who we are, and how far we have come when it comes to living our dreams. And if we are lucky enough, a celebration of finding the person who seems to make life so much more better by simply being in it. So, to love is to basically celebrate the joy and happiness we find with someone else that we didn't even know existed! They just happen to walk into our life one fine day, and bam, nothing remains the same anymore. © Keshav Suri Love is like that added sprinkle of pepper and oregano on the pizza, it is so extra but makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Much like the added sprinkle of squabbles, random fits of laughter and dizzying rush of affection, being in love brings into our life. Keshav and Cyril's heady relationship has been nothing less than a similar celebration. It's full of spice and sprinkled with moments of unceasing fun and laughter, which makes Keshav extremely grateful for the best ten years of his life that he got to share with his French husband Cyril Feuillebois. © Keshav Suri And since love follows no single language or religion, learning about this union between Keshav and Cyril has been a wonderful experience. Lalit Hotels scion Keshav Suri is more than just that, he is a son, a brother and a loving husband apart from being a champion for the LGBTQ community, since his writ in the Supreme Court against Section 377 changed the future for an entire community. This is his story and we are more than proud to share it with you. Chance may have led them to their first meeting, but Keshav remembers it like it was yesterday. Keshav recalls the first time he met Cyril and says, “I distinctly remember it was the summer of 2008 – June, when Cyril and I met for the first time at a party at the 24/7 Bar at The Lalit New Delhi, and both of us felt a connect.” © Keshav Suri Though Keshav and Cyril instantly hit it off at the party, they couldn't spend more time with each other since immediately after their first meeting, Cyril went to Goa. Reminiscing about that time, Keshav says, “though it was June, I followed him. One day, Cyril hired a Vespa and asked me to join him for a ride. I was apprehensive but, our eyes met and I could easily trust him. It was there, in Goa, where we realised, this was meant to be, that we shared something special.” Yet, of the many memories that the couple has made together, for Keshav, the day he and Cyril exchanged their vows and promised to be with each other, surrounded by their family and friends, remains his most precious and favourite memory. © Keshav Suri In Keshav's own words, here's how the day looked like, “one of the most memorable experiences of my life was walking down the aisle during our recent Goa celebrations. My Sister Shradha played dhol, while other sisters – Divya and Deeksha and Cyril's sister-in-law, Jennifer walked us to the aisle.” He also points out that the women in the couple's life have come as angels in disguise. “The women in our family are amazing! Both nature and professionals were in sync to make it picture perfect. Our mothers officiated the ceremony. At sunset, we exchanged vows and garlands in front of a transgender high priestess. The exchange of rings and sunset were perfectly timed. Everyone was teary-eyed during our vows, even we were very emotional”, shares Keshav. © Keshav Suri In the years that Keshav and Cyril have been together, there have been many moments which stood out, many landmark moments they achieved as a couple. Yet, when asked about their biggest milestone, Keshav would give you this heartfelt response, “my writ in the Supreme Court of India to revoke Section 377 and the journey of it reading down has been a huge milestone for us and the country. It would not have happened without my partner and my family's support. And our marriage recently in Paris and celebrations in Goa, which I am sure is a milestone in every relation. I truly value what we share and am glad to have taken the plunge.” © Keshav Suri That almost sounds as much as an ardent love confession, as it was a highlight the couple had the joy of sharing together. But obviously, there is a lot more than just memories that Keshav and Cyril have shared together in the time they have been together. And trust us when we say it, it has been the perfect blend of love and spice. Keshav admits the same himself, “Life together has been a rollercoaster ride, with much fun, laughter and some lifetime experiences. We've travelled around the world together and ticked off life goals. I've always felt at home with him. We have 3 children together – our dogs – Pacco Westwood, Edith Jagger, Maggie Dench and working hard to see them through college.” © Keshav Suri And regardless of the rollercoaster ride that life has been ever since the couple got together, Keshav cannot stop gushing about the love of his love for the kind of person he is, and what Cyril adds to his life. Talking about how proud he is of his husband, Keshav tells us, “Cyril is an extremely private and a creative person. Despite that, he stood by my decision to file a writ, which meant our lives will be in the public eye. The fact that he just lets me be, and is not at all judgmental and nothing anyone says or does shocks him. I am proud of his courage and his love for our country – India. © Keshav Suri But, of course, we also had to be cliched and ask Keshav what love and his relationship with Cyril has taught him, on the occasion of Valentine's Day, and Keshav, being a sport said, “this relation has filled my life with laughter. Even after ten years of being together, we have the ability to make each laugh. It has taught me to be happy and spread love, warmth, positivity and happiness.” © Keshav Suri Valentine's Day may or may not mean something to you personally, but it becomes especially hard to be immune to all the love and warmth that's in the air and in people's hearts today. We hope that whether you're single or in love, the stories in '14 Days of Love' inspire you to love and spread the love all through the year.
  10. While most of you are busy celebrating Valentine's Day today with your SO, we at MensXP are celebrating some of the most beautiful love stories. Love stories that are far greater than any shackles of stereotypes, discrimination against homosexuality, barriers of caste, religion and everything in between. Stories of people who dared to bare their hearts in front of each other, overcame their ups and downs in life together with a big smile on their faces. Amidst the daily battles between old school romance vs millennial love, reel-life romance vs real-life love stories; there is one couple who is living their love one moment at a time and redefining the term 'relationship goals' for all of us every day. We're talking about Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha, whose 8-year-old relationship has not only stood the test of time but also proved to be an inspiration for those around them. © Instagram Rajkummar is undoubtedly one of the finest and the most versatile actors in the current crop of Bollywood. We have seen many facets of Rajkummar Rao on-screen, but how is the actor in real life, especially when it comes to love? Patralekha gave us exclusive insights into their relationship, their favourite memories and their idea of Valentine's Day. Their First Date & Favourite Memory "I was totally amazed and blown away by his dedication and hard work. He was focussed and would only concentrate on his next scene. I started admiring him and then we became friends", said Patralekha, who met him in FTII where the two had gone to do a student project. When asked about her favourite memory, she said, "I was back home in Shillong and Raj just turned up outside my home to surprise me." © Instagram The 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' actor too has a special memory of how the two met and who played the cupid for him. Turns out it was a commercial he saw her in, "We never went on an official date. It's surprising but it's true. I had noticed her in a commercial before we got a chance to work with each other but somewhere deep down, I always knew that she is the one." Millennial Love vs Old School Romance "My idea of love is old school if you ask. I would love to receive a hand-written note from Patra or I love it when she asks me 'how your day' after a day's hard work. So, you can call me traditional that way, but I believe in keeping promises."- Rajkummar. "My idea of love is all about trust. You invest so much in a relationship emotionally that it can totally drain you if your trust or love is broken. So, both of us trust each other immensely and ensure we don't break it or take each other for granted." - Patralekha. © Instagram How Do The Two 'Share The Load' And Responsibilities Recently, Rajkummar and Patralekha appeared together in the campaign organised by Ariel. The campaign talks about gender equality and urges the sons to '#ShareTheLoad'. The core triggering question of this powerful movement is – 'Are we teaching our sons what we are teaching our daughters?' Bollywood's latest 'IT' couple too participated in the campaign and spoke to lengths about their idea of equality. Rajkummar said, "Today's sons will be tomorrow's husbands and thus, they should be equipped to demonstrate equality within the household. They can start this with simple chore like laundry and start sharing responsibilities with their mothers and sisters so that they grow up to be equal partners when they get married." © Instagram Patralekha too feels that since women today are excelling in all fields, they expect to get support from their partners so that they don't feel overburdened with responsibilities. "It's only fair that their partners share the load. But if sons of today are not equipped to contribute to household work, they will never be able to do it in future. Thus, conflict is natural to occur. I am thankful to have Raj as a partner. He believes, says, and demonstrates that we are truly equal partners. But, partners like Raj shouldn't be exceptions, they should be the norm," said Patralekha. Reel-Life Vs Real-Life Jealousy and possessiveness can sometimes break even the strongest of relationships. With billions of people watching you and keeping a track of your personal life, things only get tough for Bollywood actors. "I am quite secure that way. It's because of the confidence, comfort and trust that Raj gives me. We share everything so there is no doubt and if there is, I openly ask him, and he explains. Being from the same industry, I understand the limitations and compulsions that actors must go through. So, it works out fine." - Patralekha. Just like all of us, Raj and Patra too have their own plans and ideas about Valentine's Day and they are genuinely better than all of ours. © Instagram "Every day is a Valentine's Day with Patra. She is a great partner and a great friend; she is the person I want to come back to after a long day. I can be myself with her without being judged. I think love is about all this, about the comfort, compassion, fun that you share with the partner." - Rajkummar. View this post on Instagram #JummaChumma with @patralekhaa #Bangkok video credit by my dear friend @vivek_daschaudhary A post shared by Raj Kummar Rao (@rajkummar_rao) on Dec 30, 2017 at 9:52am PST "We celebrate love every day…that's the best part of being us. No special plans, being together and taking time out for each other is the best thing to do." - Patralekha. We guess we all can learn a lesson or two from Raj and Patra, as the two lovingly call each other, when it comes to treating our partners as equals.
  11. They say falling in love with someone, at first sight, is something you only watch in the movies. It never comes to life anymore. I agree it's hard to compare falling in love with someone at first sight to knowing someone for years and then falling in love with them. But love, at first sight, does exist and in reality, it's one of the strongest bonds that barely deters in spirit. (c)Instagram Today's generation is a little sticky with this phenomena though. That's also because a lot of people don't know that the real concept of 'love at first sight' came from our forefathers and ancestors when love was a lot simpler and malleable. Relationships survived without the advent of the 'next right swipe'. (c)Instagram But nowadays, men and women alike, need the clarity to adopt love as a feature in their lives, to pursue one another to look for happiness. No one trusts love anymore, everyone is either rooting for 'the perfect match, after 20 swipes' or looking for 'the one'. Gone are the days, when you'd just meet someone and you know, they're the one for you. Well, not entirely gone though. Meet Ankita and Amish, the only real-time couple we've come across in a long time who've survived beautifully for six years after they fell in love with each other at first sight! I fell in love with her in one night flat- Amish (c)Instagram And that was that we're guessing. All it took for Amish was to spend a few hours with Ankita and be absolutely head over heels in love with her. And she with him. Amish and Ankita first met at a karaoke bar, where Ankita, much to her dislike, was setting her friend up with Amish, but little did she know, Amish already had his eyes set upon her and the rest of the night was just the two of them getting along like a house on fire. Although after her friend's insistence, Ankita decided to approach Amish to pursue him for her friend, instead she found what she was looking for, all along, right at that moment, right there and then. (c)Instagram We found love in a hopeless place, where the world was a drunken mess and looking to have a good time. It was almost like a weekly Wednesday meet up for subscribers of hedonism where winning mating game and detachment ruled the roost. And there he stood with his thick black glasses bobbing his head to a song. That night I realised I had found my co-conspirator, the worshipper of mush and cheese, the love for greasy food, wanderlust, believing the world was made of marsh-mellows and buttercream. He was my kind of boy - Ankita (c)Instagram That's how love swings, or is supposed to, isn't it? It doesn't wait, it never recedes at the perfect moment and it lets you know you can't control it. Falling in love, at first sight, is actually a long lost scientific battle. There is a science involved in every realm of it and while the chemicals balance in your brain, you keep falling deeper in that feeling. It's true, while you are falling in love, your brain is creating dopamine and serotonin, and the composition is a real rush. (c)Instagram But inadequately so, most young people today have learnt to consciously alter that immediate response by judging their own reaction while rejecting the other person's. It tough to let your feelings flow, when you're constantly rushed by numerous 'options' at hand, not giving yourself a chance to experience the purity of that rush. There's Incredible Strength In Just Getting To Know Someone From Scratch We sat across the table, ordered for wontons and beers. Dipped one in the hot sauce, took a bite like it meant life, made disgusting sounds, panted with a chilly breath and washed it down with pints of beers. It was almost like Wonton chomp, chilly pant, glug, hysterical laughter, awkward silence, butterflies and then repeat. I even chose a yellow muffler over a purple jacket for my date, not the quintessential LBD. I was my messy best but Amish always felt like home to me, so it was very real there was no need to pretend - Ankita (c)Instagram Their first date was somewhat like that. Their dynamic was built on the nuance of barely knowing each other. They'd just happen to meet at a bar and they started talking, so there was a lot to find out. But that's the best part about falling in love with someone instantaneously, isn't it? You want to know every little aspect of their existence till it fills your subconscious to the brim. Post their little encounter at the bar, the two spent a good amount of time together to find out who they really were and what made them fall in love, in the first place. (c)Instagram She's incredible. The human being she is, the power to give, the power to love beyond self-love, the power to stand against the tide or a cyclone or both, the warrior she is- Wonder Woman's got nothing on her, her innocence, her morality, her feminism. I am proud that a being like this exists in this humanity-is-secondary world - Amish Amish and Ankita finally tied the knot 3 years ago and because both met as total strangers in love, they started imbibing the best qualities from one another, just to be comfortable around each other. The likes of respect, equality, understanding, faith and trust was an autopilot derivative of that. Amish graceful took her last name after marriage because he realised love shouldn't succumb to your identity as unequal's, rather it should stand out in true equality and unity of one's mind, body and soul. (c)Instagram Amish believes in equality, I dig that about him. It's a simple virtue but easier said than done. When we got married he decided to take my sir name and said- 'why should you have all the fun and celebrate me, I want to celebrate you too - Ankita Relationships based on 'Love at first sight' are long-lasting. That's because they create an illusion of positivity in your head about accepting each other, through a myriad of reasons and making it works against all odds while starting from scratch. And every time Amish and Ankita talk about how they first met and fell in love instantly, their connection certainly deepens in time. (c)Instagram So, if you're looking for a love that's fulfilling and deep, keep your mind and soul open, you never know who you might meet and spend the rest of your life with, at that very moment! I have learnt to be a more aware and honest human being, who can accept his weaknesses, weigh his insecurities and be proud of his strengths. But the most important thing it has taught me that the fairy-tale ideal kinda love does exist but for it to prosper, you work on it selflessly every day - Amish

  13. Going into the 2019 Asian Cup, the Japanese football team was looked upon as one of the top contenders for the coveted title. They began their campaign with convincing wins over Turkmenistan, Oman and Uzbekistan in the Group Stage before overcoming a resilient Saudi Arabia side in the Round of 16. A 1-0 victory over Vietnam in the quarters saw them setting a date a semifinals date with Iran who were eventually steamrolled 0-3 by the 'Samurai Blue'. A prolific run in the tournament finally placed them in the all-important final where they found dark horse Qatar standing in their way of the Asian Cup title. AP But, it was Qatar whose spirited run found a fairy-tale ending. Thanks to goals from Almoez Ali, Abdulaziz Hatem and Akram Afif, Qatar lifted their maiden Asian Cup trophy and made their intentions clear ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will be hosted by them. Japan's Takumi Minamino scored a goal for his side, but couldn't save the four-time Asian Cup champions from defeat in the final. 14. "He has the best taste in clothes, and he is the only man I know who knows the difference between mauve, pink, purple, berry etc. I am so proud of how confident he is, and that he doesn't give a shit about gender norms" Stuti While society does its best to mould gender norms, there are some people who define their own standards of what gender truly means to them. They come from an open-ended perspective of changing things that are too normative in nature, in order to derive a way of living most suited to them. And why not? Isn't that life's first rule? To live under no rules? (c)Facebook Meet Stuti and Arnav, a couple defying every stereotype in sight, living a happy and fulfilling long-term relationship. What makes their relationship an inspiration to the millennial generation? They're will to never succumb under textbook knowledge of how things are perceived by people but to create a tangible wavelength of what they feel is comfortable for them. (c)Facebook The Beginning Stuti and Arnav met through common friends but they mostly chatted online till they decided to finally meet. Our first date ever was at this fantastic little cafe called Le Bistro Du Parc, where it was all about steak, sangria and conversation. She looked stunning in a red dress. I was already a little tipsy on sangria, which in hindsight, was a good thing, considering I am usually a nervous wreck. We started talking even before she sat down, and it she made me feel extremely comfortable from the very first moment- Arnav (c)Facebook Stuti, a student of gender studies had her firm notions intact where feminism was concerned. She knew the black's from white and was an ideal yet staunch feminist. Well, before she met Arnav. As someone who studied gender and feminism in college, I considered myself really woke about gender fluidity. I cut my own hair, wore pants, and did not shy away from owning the masculine side to my personality. I thought that was all I had to do to maintain my status quo as someone intellectual and liberal. But I was wrong, because I was given an actual chance to prove my beliefs - Stuti The couple got along like a house on fire and by the second date, they'd already deliberated enough about how they felt for each other. But for Stuti, Arnav wasn't just another Delhi boy, who had an alpha male syndrome looming though his ego. He wasn't the heterosexual male, who would come out for a date dressed in black and shy away from the mention of pink. He was very aware of his likes from his dislikes and Stuti instantly realised she was dating the millennial 'metrosexual man'. A term born from heterosexual males, who actually love taking care of themselves, meticulously might I add. (c)iDiva A Metrosexual Man In Love The advent of the new technological era has brought a lot of significant changes into our lives. Our lifestyles have enhanced from simple caveman times to grooming every inch of ourselves just to look aptly presentable. So, when men took to doing that for themselves, a lot of questions were raised in society. Although it's an urban phenomena still, a man paying close attention to his looks and aesthetics, knowing how to dress well, performing beauty rituals on himself, isn't brandishing or tarnishing the 'manly' image. In fact, it's strengthening the unity that gender needs today. (c)Facebook Arnav, a man very comfortable in his skin, loves wearing all shades of pink, performing beauty routines on his skin and still being that 'emotionally available' guy every girl dreams of dating, is an unfortunate misunderstanding amongst the population today. Here's the thing. Many don't realise that calling someone “gay” due to anything but their sexual orientation is very problematic. For instance, if my boyfriend knows the difference between mauve and pink, that means he has great vision and not that he likes men- Stuti Even within the social constructs of such an unpleasant misunderstanding, Stuti and Arnav have the best relationship and they don't shy away from talking about it! Be it mutual skin care routine's or shopping trips, both enjoy each other's company because they bond with each other over mutual interests, that don't suffocate how one gender is suppose to be with the other. (c)Facebook I have never met a more loving and caring human being, and for that, I feel like the luckiest person alive. One of the most important, and least talked about aspects of a relationship is learning from each other, and I can very easily say that she's taught me so much about love -Arnav What She Fell In Love With The Most Stuti took some time to get to know Arnav. That's a given. But when she did, she found peace and love in him. He helped her deal with mental health issues by always staying by her side, in her time of need and never giving her a reason to question her worth again. But besides that, Stuti fell in love with the fact that her man was so comfortable with his sexuality, that he was indeed confident about how he demonstrated his sexuality. Of how he was open to things that a lot of men usually shy away from and that made her faith in the relationship stronger. (c)Facebook He likes his clothes fitted. He wears pink much better than I do. The strong sweet floral scent of Daisy by Marc Jacobs smells better on him than it smells on me. Does this take away from the fact that he identifies as a man, and is very much straight? It doesn't -Stuti But it took a while for Stuti to accept Arnav as who he was at first. The fact that his choices in life didn't eliminate the doubt that he might have 'gay' tendencies was something Stuti was struggling with initially. We're all moulded in a patriarchal structure. No matter how over-exposed we are to stimulus that redefines gender roles for us, we still go back to our conditioning every now and then and that's what Stuti did too. I struggled to accept the fact that my boyfriend is indeed a straight man who identifies as male. I wore the pants, I used Axe deodorant, and I shouted about equality, yet I was hypocritical enough to not accept his individual take on gender several times. -Stuti But in time, she realised that he was a man who loved taking care of himself and took a keen interest in his aesthetics. She didn't understand his love for lip balms, lotions, face masks or every shade of pink but she garnered an interest over her love for the fact that they both shared a similar interest. (c)Facebook Each man's process to survive is different. Some men like living a rugged and robust life, while some are keen on entertaining the way they look and appear and because we have such pronounced gender dynamics and roles, everything has to fall under a 'straight' line. But honestly, a 'metrosexual' man is as macho, as romantic, as arbit or as good in bed as any other man and we know that because we see Stuti' and Arnva's relationship blossom into something indestructible, everyday! This relationship has shown love to me in a totally different light. It's taught me how easy life is when you have someone who is actually there by your side, through every move. It's taught me to truly appreciate things, it's taught me the meaning of empathy and understanding. It's taught me to explore, to experiment, that there's so much that the world has to offer, when you have someone by your side to experience it with - Arnav

  16. For a man who recently sweeped the top honors at the ICC Awards, Virat Kohli is arguably in the best form of his life. On the back of consistent performances, the Indian captain has been breaking one record after another in international cricket. Not many in the current crop of cricketers can stake claim to what Kohli has been able to pull off with relative ease. But, when he is not breaking batting records or cutting a sorry figure for the bowlers, the Delhi lad enjoys his life just like any other individual. 17. There is a well-known adage common to most Indian households, that is an unrivalled favourite amongst 98% of Indian parents, and it goes something like “hard work is the only key to success”. You might have been personally subjected to some similar version of this, such as, “there is no secret to success (only hard work)” or “there is no shortcut to success (just keep working hard)” yada yada. Do these ring a bell? We are sure it does, because most of us have lived through at least one such lecture which involved the use of one of these adages, either after we messed up an important exam or performance. We all know what a hard time our parents can give us over lost opportunities and our inability to match up to the ideal that is “pados wale Sharmaji ka beta”. Yet, no matter how badly we crib about it amongst ourselves, truth be told, our parents were seldom wrong when they pointed out the obvious (which we were too stubborn to accept) to us, because young Shubham Chaurasia from Bihar, who is the son of a paanwala Shiv Kumar Prasad Chaurasia is a living proof that all of those aforementioned adages might sound frivolous, or parent-talk, but are true indeed. © Hindustan Times-Anil Kumar Ojha Why we are saying so is because when the JEE Main 2019 results was announced recently, Shubham happened to be amongst the handful of people who managed to score 99.56 percentile in the exam! Talking about his son's achievements, Shubham's father told HT that, “My son would not have achieved success without help of former DGP Abhayanand, who runs Magadh Super 30 coaching centre, and its coordinator Pankaj Kumar, who mentored Shubham.” These are people who guided and mentored Shubham, and pumped enough confidence in him to set out on this endeavour. However, it was Shubham's constant efforts and dedication that came to fruition with this stellar score. Even a thrilled Shubham was eager to share his personal life-goals and said that “If I achieve something in life, I will first stop my father from selling betel. I will support education of my sister and I will also work for betterment of society that ensured my education. My all earnings will go for charity, particularly for education of the girls of the families having little resources.” This young boy has seen up close what a life filled with struggle and limited means and opportunities looks like. This gives him the motivation to continuously work hard so that not only can he improve his own personal prospects, but create a better future for his loved ones too. And isn't that something all of us want from life at the end of the day? A better and improved future, not only for ourselves but our dear ones as well. But perhaps the only difference between the ones who come to turn their wish into reality, is their willingness and dedication to work hard and achieve every goal, in order to live that dream outside of their minds. Indeed, it only makes sense then that there would be no shortcut to how we succeed in our endeavours, expect by working hard to seize it by the collar and claim it. No earn it. Some adages, well most of them do hold true, but it is always humbling to get reminded that these saying are not merely words thrown around to make a point or boost our confidence, through living proofs which only helps to firm our belief that “good things come to those who try”.

  20. Grandparents. The mere mention of this word fills our mind's eye with a flood of memories featuring some of the most fun, adorable and lovable people of our life. For most of us, our Nana-Nani and Dada-Dadi stand synonymous to a secondary set of parents, who can not only school and tame our mother and father but pamper the life out of us all at once. Their gap-toothed smiles, saggy and leathery skin, as well as the greying fluff on their head, is no match to the twinkle of wisdom in their eyes and mischief laden throaty laughter. Grandparents always bring out the best in us and seem to be a part of most of our fondest memories, no matter the age. © Netflix Now imagine sitting across them on a sofa as you hear them talk about some of the most unconventional topics for the elderly that there are. From ***, size, and sexting to friends with benefits and homosexuality, you name it! As awkward and unusual as that might sound, something of the sort has already happened. There is a video doing the rounds on the internet where three adorable pairs of grandparents are talking on camera, and sharing their views, experiences and opinions on the aforementioned topics. And in all honesty, it isn't just there presence in such a video that caught our attention, but their responses on each of these distinct topics that floored us. These wise couples have no inhibitions talking from experience, and candidly tackling every question with an answer that brings such acceptance and perspective to such less talked about topics. On Matters Of 'Size' © Netflix All the grandpas were of the opinion that size matters, while the grannies couldn't really agree with it. Well, this continues to be a hot topic for debate and we shall keep our comments section open to hear your take on this one. On Sexting © Netflix Who would have thought they were very much into it themselves? But yeah, only with their partner on the receiving end. *wink* On Multiple Sexual Partners © Netflix While health risks remain a concern, most of them said it was acceptable. One grandpa was also quick to add that though “one is enough, but once is not enough”. Touche, old man! On Friends With Benefits © Netflix The verdict was, if two consenting adults decide on it, there is no harm it in! On *** Education © Netflix While one of them called it a 'no-training' natural phenomenon, others gave credit to porn magazines and Harold Robbins books. On Homosexuality © Netflix “Why oppose something where you play no role?” Good point, well made, sir. These old people, in all their wisdom, shared some great life lessons, and this video captures all the ways that make them so much more cooler than the millennials. We must take notes from their liberal and all-accepting stance, especially when it comes to something as essential and crucial as ***. They would make for perfect *** education teachers, don't you think?
  21. Ever since renouncing his captaincy, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a subject of immense criticism and topic of great discussion among the critics. There is no doubt that the Jharkhand cricketer, who once thrived in the role of India's finisher, has been struggling for a while to score at will. While some continue to call him a liability for Team India, others have even gone on to suggest that he is unnecessarily occupying a crucial slot in the side which could have been used by a much-deserving candidate. All those critical viewpoints had once again thronged social media when India lost the first ODI against Australia by 34 runs at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The former Indian captain was slammed for playing 96 deliveries and scoring just 51 runs. He was blamed for starting real slow and then, when Rohit Sharma needed an experienced partner at the other end, losing his wicket (even if it was an umpiring error). Many had questioned the Indian selectors if they really believed that Virat Kohli-led side can actually win the upcoming ICC World Cup with Dhoni in the team. © Twitter/@BCCI A few days later, the Indian cricket team found itself in a similar situation, lagging behind in their run-chase early on and Dhoni in the mix, yet again. With Virat Kohli carrying the baton for his side, having already reached his fifty, Dhoni came to the crease with India needing another 137 runs at an asking rate of over 7.20. With Kohli's willow breathing fire, the cricket fans and pundits had placed their bets on the Indian captain to see the visitors through. Nobody, especially after last ODI's debacle, was really interested in what Dhoni had to offer as his slow start (12 runs off 21 balls) already had the naysayers slamming him on the social media. And, when Kohli was dismissed in the 44th over, the Indian fans dreaded the reoccurrence of those grim scenes that had earlier cut India a sorry figure at the SCG. With 57 runs still on board to get, the Australians undoubtedly fancied their chances, taking confidence from their triumph that came in similar situations in Sydney. But, at a time, when his detractors were waiting for him to fail yet again, the 37-year-old showed great resilience and stepped up to the task, bringing in all his experience to change India's fortunes. As the asking-rate crept over nine runs an over, Dhoni took calculated risks in a bid to keep his side in the game without losing wickets in the crunch moments of the game. Adequately supported by Dinesh Karthik (25*) who was holding the fort at the other end, the former Indian captain continued to rotate strike and pounced on the bad deliveries - traits of an experienced campaigner who has over 10,000 ODI runs to his name. © Twitter/@BCCI It eventually came down to 7 runs off the final six deliveries as the cricket fans across the globe geared up for another nail-biting showdown. But, all the excitement was killed with Dhoni's monstrous hit on the first delivery of Jason Behrendorff's over. Clearing his front leg and bringing all that bottom-hand power into play, Dhoni produced a mighty blow - one that must've hurt his detractors more than Australia themselves. Dhoni hits detractors and skeptics for a 6! Tight match, fine win — Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) January 15, 2019 Fantastic run chase by India . Excellent 100 from Virat, he makes it look very easy. Was wonderful to see Dhoni finish of the game beautifully and Dinesh Karthik's cameo was very very important in the end. The final game should be a cracker. — VVS Laxman (@VVSLaxman281) January 15, 2019 With the equation (1 run off 5 balls) heavily in favour of the visitors, Dhoni did what he does best - scoring the winning runs and finishing the game for India. An MSD classic (55*), as it was, Dhoni's gritty fifty was stark reminder of what this old warhorse brings to the table. And, even if the last year wasn't really great for the Indian cricketer, the fact that he has begun 2019 with two fifties in a row might just be a sign of bigger and greater things to come from Dhoni. It's amazing that in the last ODI game, that many people criticised @msdhoni and he got a rough LBW decision, now with @imVkohli and @DineshKarthik he finishes a great game. Dhoni is a freak. Been saying it for years. — Dean Jones (@ProfDeano) January 15, 2019 Dhoni has shown his class here. Just understood the situation beautifully. And this is a tribute to his fitness — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) January 15, 2019 The Jharkhand cricketer might be on the older side. Despite his impeccable fitness levels, he still might not be as agile as he once was. And, he may not be able to score sixes at will as he once did. But, Dhoni is and will always be the cricketer that India can always rely on in those crunch situations when the likes of Kohli, Rohit, Dhawan and all the other prominent batters are back in the hut - a fact that, once again, came to the fore at the Adelaide Oval.
  22. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's wedding became national news last year, and even a glimpse of their wedding photographs sent the entire nation into a frenzy. And now, 2019 seems to have started no differently for the couple, what with Ranveer's mega success making the transition to 2019 utterly memorable for the newly-weds. The pair doesn't seem to be able to stay away from the limelight for long, and lately, they made headlines for coming forward and declaring loud and proud, that neither of them will be changing their surnames post marriage. © Instagram In this case, the newly-wed couple was met with the same fate as any other Indian couple. That is, as soon as two people decide to tie the knot, the raging question that arises is, whether the woman will change her surname post marriage. Deepika shared a similar fate, and ever since her wedding in November last year, gossip columns were populated with artfully written pieces speculating if Deepika Padukone will thenceforth be known as Deepika Padukone Singh, Deepika Padukone Bhavnani or some such other variant. © Instagram But as we have already gathered from an HT report, neither Deepika nor Ranveer have any plans of changing their surnames, much against popular buzz doing the rounds. Calling her own comment in an interview, about Ranveer changing his surname pose marriage, a “candid joke”, Deepika further added that, “It's not true. In fact, after that interview, I realised that it's a conversation Ranveer and I've never even had. So, we haven't been like, 'oh, do you think you should change your surname?'” © Instagram She went on to explain that the question about changing her surname came as a surprise since she and Ranveer had never considered it important enough to discuss it. “It has never crossed either of our minds. When I was asked about it, I was like, 'oh, we haven't even thought about it'. Maybe because it's not important. Also, I've worked extremely hard to create my own identity and so has he. So, my question is, why would he have to do that?”, said the 'Padmaavat' star. At this point, I would prompt you to re-read that last statement by Deepika once more. I would have preferred to highlight that bit with a highlighting pen for you, if it was possible. But you get the point. I simply wish to draw your attention to the keywords here - “not important”, “own identity” and “why”. © Instagram And I have the same question, why is it expected from a woman to change her surname once she becomes someone's legally wedded wife? Also, why is it so that a man is seen as a submissive or less powerful when his wife decides to stick to her maiden name after getting married? Why do we as a society wish to meddle with others' personal choice to change or not change their surnames, so as to just carry forward medieval societal “norms and traditions” that secure patriarchal egos and position? © Instagram Changing the surname is often seen as a symbol equivalent of belonging to a community, family or household. Needless to say, the 9th-century 'Doctrine of Coverture' played a role in altering people's mindset in this regard, since such a practice was unheard of before then. But again, this is the 21st century and surely, we ought to leave behind such malpractices in our past and look at women as an independent, fully-functioning individual who is more than someone's wife, mother and daughter-in-law. © Instagram Why do we want to work ourselves up with this need to maintain that a woman must always “belong” to someone? That she needs to be labelled, which would then act as her marker should she get mixed up/misplaced in a country with a population spilling onto the 2 billion mark? Why do we as a society treat it as our birthright to overlook the identity a woman creates and maintains before she decides to get married and share the same with another human being, who also happens to have a 'unique identity' of his own? This is not to say that women who 'choose' to take on their husband's surname after getting married are bartering their identity, or furthering senseless patriarchal norms. Like anybody else, even they have the right to consciously and freely choose for themselves, regardless of the motivation behind it. So my point is, just like Deepika pointed out in her comments, that all of us, both men and women work very hard all our lives to create our own identities that are attached to our personal achievements and histories. And I believe it is utterly unfair for anyone to expect that a woman or a man should change that identity attached to their names, for any reason whatsoever. What do you guys have to say about this? Let us know in the comments section below!
