  1. 'Necessity is the mother of invention'. This honestly seems like some ancient desi proverb at this point because it exactly applies to 'jugaad' and no one in the world does that better than Indians. If there's a problem, there's always a solution, even if it doesn't look like one. I've always said that if it's stupid and it works, it's not stupid, and looks like even Anand Mahindra agrees. He's always pretty active on Twitter admiring or sharing new stuff and this time he decided to share what looks like a Whatsapp forward video just because it was that innovative. What do you do when you don't have an excavator but just a 'charpai' or a 'khatiya'? Well, here it is- I think the phrase 'Necessity is the mother of invention' was invented by Indians! Here's a new product our Farm & Construction sectors will have to consider as a replacement for an excavator: A 'Khatiya-vator'. #whatsappwonderbox pic.twitter.com/av3qNdIAHd — anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) May 21, 2019 Well, that's pretty cool. The most surprising part for me is someone like Anand Mahindra scouting through all the Whatsapp messages and videos he recieves to find stuff like that. Am i going to hell for laughing at this? pic.twitter.com/R5HSnSc14l — Harsha ð®ð³ (@SriNow) May 21, 2019 Someone replied with more innovations. Our farmers have invented one more than one ...... Another example . pic.twitter.com/8jofVuNSID — AJAY GHANGHAS ð®ð³ð (@AJAYGHANGHAS16) May 21, 2019 Wow. This is not surprising.... my father made a cooler with an oil cane which costs only 250 rupees. And the interedting thing is that this cooler gives much cooling than a symphony cooler. And it works with solar energy saves electricity bill. — Viren Sharma (@SonuSha7409) May 21, 2019 Yep. Only we Indians can find another use for a 'Khatiya' in the daytime like thisðð — Charuhas (@charuhasmujumd1) May 21, 2019 Why does it sound like something Doofenshmirtz would make? 'Khatiya-vator' sounds cool ð — Harleen Kaur (@HarleenParmar) May 21, 2019 Someone literally gave the definition of jugaad. An instant solution to the problem raised by the demand of situations. Moreover the solution provided by an instant action may not be the permanent solution but good enough to meet the present. May be called "Juggat" in sanskrit and "Jugadd" in hindi — Abhrankash (@abhrankashdas) May 21, 2019
  2. This article contains heavy spoilers. Proceed with caution. If you see Bran's character arc, it's risen tremendously from how he was portrayed in Season 1, till the most recent Season, where he's named king of the six realms. But if you think about it, his journey wasn't just another teenager who finds true meaning in life and becomes the Three-Eyed-Raven. He was very carefully orchestrating and plotting his own storyline, which in all probability, was highly overshadowed from the rest of us. © HBO When the gang of survivors were holding a discussion as to who the next king should be, everyone unanimously decided upon Bran. Tyrion, of course, gave his two cents on why Bran should be the ruler of the 7 kingdoms and with a common consensus, Bran was named king of the 6 kingdoms, giving Sansa complete autonomy to rule the North on her own. Right after he was appointed king, Tyrion asked Bran if he wanted it and Bran said: ''why do you think I've come all this way"? That statement might have been something we missed delving deeper into but come to think of it, it's a pretty loaded statement, which could tell us that Bran had been planning taking over the realm since the beginning! Or since he became the Three-Eyed-Raven, who actually wanted to lead and rule all, according to some theories. © HBO But, let's fish out some actual facts on why Bran could be the ultimate villain who was silently rooting for the throne, for himself. First off, Bran knows everything that has happened and will happen in the future. We're not sure how far he can see into the future but it's a sufficient amount to predict things that may happen and avoid the things that shouldn't. The very fact that he let most things happen, even though he could have stopped them is highly suspicious. For example, if he knew Euron was going to attack Daenerys' fleet, he could have asked her to change her strategy, but he didn't. He kept quiet until Dany lost one of her dragon's in Euron's attack. For someone who 'sees' everything, this seemed quite intentional. © HBO Next, let's look at the Night King's death. I agree that episode 3 of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 was absolutely haywire, where nothing made sense. Not just the fact that almost everyone survived the army of the dead and that the Night King died, frivolously, after 7 Seasons of absolute build-up, also that his death seemed very inferior compared to how he was shown or talked about in the show. But, keeping that bit aside, Bran warged into the ravens during the war and we never really figured out what he was trying to do. They never showed the part where his warging helped out the war in any way possible. Popular fan theories suggest that Bran cooked up a deal with the Night King, which lured him towards Bran, and since Bran had given Arya the Valyrian Steel dagger earlier, he knew the NK's actual fate. There was no form of expression or relief on Bran's face when Arya killed the Night King. © HBO Also, if you think about it, Bran giving the Valyrian Steel dagger to Arya, which foreshadowed the Night King's death and telling Samwell, Arya and Sansa about Jon's true lineage and not letting out anything else, is a great tactic. This way, he made sure his claim to the throne was intact, getting rid of his enemies one by one. Arya killed the Night King with the dagger Bran gave her and everyone knew Jon was a Targaryen after Bran revealed it, which led to Dany losing her mind towards the end, and eventually dying for it. And that's how Bran got rid of two tough contenders, one by one. And while the two wars were taking place, Bran took a back seat and watched things unfold. Things he'd set in motion himself. Very clever Bran! How did the #NightKing change Craster's babies? By touching them. How did he change Viserion? By touching it. What did Bloodraven say to #BranStark in the cave? "He touched you."#foodforthought#nightking #GameofThrones — Vladimir Furdik (@Vladimir_furdik) 28 April 2019 Which is actually true. Even though Bran met the NK earlier through a vision, the NK had touched him and left his mark. Did Bran change post that and wished to take control over everything else and discovered his evil-dark side? The fifth episode of Season 8 also has an interesting fan theory. Dany had decided to withdraw if and when King's Landing rang the bells in surrender. But even after the bells were rung, she went Dracarys on the entire kingdom! Earlier, if you see Dany, while the bells are ringing, she is looking towards the Red Keep where Cersei is standing, making it seem like she's going to charge towards Cersei and kill her and destroy just the Red Keep. But she ends up destroying the entire city. Now, the theory states that Bran probably warged into Drogon, Dany's dragon, and burnt the city down to ashes. © HBO Not once did they show Dany's face when Drogon was spitting fire. Maybe he wasn't in her control and was doing whatever he wanted because his consciousness had been taken over by Bran. There's also a shot of Drogon's shadow over King's Landing when he's spewing fire and it's identical to the vision Bran had a few seasons ago, which could also amount to something. And if Drogon was spitting fire recklessly while Dany was confused about his actions, it could just mean that Dany, in all probability, wasn't the Mad Queen after all and that Bran is just pure evil! © HBO While all these are just theories, they do give us something to think about. How can someone, who sees the future and knows the past never strategise during a big war? How was he always quiet? Why was no one consulting him on what to do next? Why didn't anyone else consider Jon Snow, the true heir, for the throne? After an entire build up over his revelation of being a Targaryen and Bran's constant vision of Jon's birth at the Tower of Joy in Dorne, the throne eventually went to Bran. Isn't it quite strange? © HBO Well, I like to believe Bran played a great game and made everyone believe he is the rightful king, even though he is not and he knew it all along, especially when he uttered, "why do you think I've come all this way". Now, we aren't sure if he means he's come all this way from the North to be named king, or that he's always been plotting and planning for the throne, by being the Three-Eyed-Raven and has come all this way to take the throne. We'll never truly know! But let's see what George RR Martin has in store for us, through his upcoming books!
  3. Following a record 100-point title-winning season, Manchester City chased an elusive dream of becoming the first team to successfully retain the Premier League title in the last decade. The 2018/19 season began with promise and City did what they do best - crush one opponent after another as they launched their title defence. But, as the Premier League progressed further, the Cityzens found a threat to their title defence in rampaging Liverpool. The Jurgen Klopp brigade upped the ante, matching City's every single move in the tournament. The closely-fought battle was expected to bring out the best in the two teams, but the amounting pressure also meant that someone was going to slip up. And, that's exactly what happened to City. First, a goalless draw to Liverpool with Riyad Mahrez's missing the penalty, and then, a 2-1 loss to Leicester City had Guardiola's men feeling the heat at the end of 2018. A 2-1 win over the Reds in January saw City ending Liverpool's 20-game unbeaten run, but the same month saw their eight-match winning run (in all competition) coming to an unexpected end after they go 1-2 down to Newcastle United. © Reuters City's loss to Newcastle saw Liverpool going four points clear at the top with a game in hand. And, the Anfield loyalists believed that their wait for a Premier League title for 29 years was finally going to come to an end this season. But, while the Liverpool fans were hopeful, Klopp and his men knew that it wasn't going to be easy to upstage a team of City calibre. With their back against the wall, City, staying true to its character and skillset, brought their 'A Game' to the fore. The Guardiola brigade bounced back with a 3-1 win over Arsenal and then thumped six goals past Chelsea to make their intentions clear. But, as they continued to cut down the deficit at the top in Premier League, City were humbled by a spirited Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League. A 4-4 (on aggregate) result saw Spurs marching ahead in the European competition on the basis of the away-goal rule. Crashing out of a competition that has eluded them over the years, City and their fans were undoubtedly distraught as yet another Champions League campaign came to a sad end. And, the fact that they were eliminated and Liverpool were still alive and kicking in the event, further dampened the mood at the Etihad. © Reuters Beginning the season with the promise of a potential quadruple, City's elimination from the Champions League was yet another blow to Guardiola's, otherwise, rich legacy. With the dreams of conquering Europe vanquished, City, now, had Premier League to salvage some silverware and nurse their ego. And, after Liverpool's sensational comeback against Barcelona to secure a berth in this season's Champions League final, many believed that the momentum was, in fact, with the Reds to, not only win the European competition, but, maybe, pip City to the Premier League title. But, if you've followed the Cityzens this season, you'd know that this team, with Guardiola at the helm of affairs, mastered the art of delivering under pressure and surely not the one to bottle their chances. With three games to go in the season, City faced their first test against cross-town neighbours Manchester United who were forced to endure a 2-0 defeat. Then, came Leicester who almost pulled off the job, but a long-range screamer from club legend Vincent Kompany saved City the blushes in a narrow 1-0 win. © Reuters After a game of cat and mouse, it all boiled down to the Super Sunday - the day of judgement for both City and Liverpool. While City were just a win away from retaining the title, the Reds needed to win their encounter against the Wolves and wanted their rivals, at the top, to lose theirs. As the two teams began their clashes simultaneously, a 17th-minute goal from Sadio Mane put Liverpool in front, but it was Glenn Murray's header in the 27th minute for Brighton against City that had the Reds jumping out of their seats. It seemed that the pressure was going to get to City and the defending champions might throw it away. But then, a side that amassed a record 100 points last season has got to be better than that. Bouncing back like true champions, City equalised in the very next minute through Sergio Aguero's brilliant finish. Then, a 38th minute header from Aymeric Laporte put City in front, minimising the title hopes of Liverpool. Despite leading 2-1, City and their fans knew it wasn't the kind of lead they'll be comfortable taking into the last minutes of the game. And, an exquisite strike from Riyad Mahrez in the 63rd minute finally gave City some cushion to feel more comfortable. What a decision from Pep to start Mahrez today! BEAUTIFUL GOAL â½ï¸ #MCFC pic.twitter.com/8t5gZ36dlx — ManCityzens.com (@ManCityzenscom) May 12, 2019 Now, flowing freely through the midfield, City found their fourth goal as Ilkay Gundogan stamped his authority with a precise free-kick, beating Brighton shot-stopper Mat Ryan in the 72nd minute. As the final whistle blew away, the Amex stadium was overwhelmed with City's title-winning celebrations. WWWWWWWWWWWWWWinners! 14 wins in a row to wrap up and incredible season! ðµ #mancity pic.twitter.com/ONrqLSGrOe — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 12, 2019 Guardiola and his men did it. Against all odds and great competition from Liverpool, City became the first team to retain the Premier League title in the last decade. Guardiola joined the likes of Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho to become the third manager in history to win the Premier League title in back-to-back seasons. He also became the first manager to retain the league title in Spain, Germany and England. Bumps for the boss! ð ðµ #mancity ð pic.twitter.com/dVEQyujDtJ — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 12, 2019 The fact that City has amassed 198 points across two seasons surely highlights their might, but the form mustered in the run-in - 18 wins in 19 games in the second-half of the season - represents a blistering response to the challenge on their authority being mustered from Anfield. The Reds finished the season with a 2-0 win over Wolves, but their tally of 97 points - which would've been enough to win the Premier League in all but one of the previous 26 seasons - just wasn't enough to pip City to the title this season. Flying-high on the plane back to Manchester last night! ðµ #mancity ð pic.twitter.com/2hTowfIUqd — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 13, 2019 But, despite all that, are we giving enough respect to Man City? It might seem like a ridiculous question to ask given they are one of the richest clubs in the world, with a world-class squad at their disposal and possibly the best manager at the helm, but yet it is a question that begs asking. This is a side that bulldozed its way to the Premier League title last year with a swagger not seen for some time. But, it was their triumph - derived under immense pressure from relentless Liverpool - this season that showed their true character and grit - qualities of a champion side. They might still have a long way to go to win Champions League, but it shouldn't overshadow what they've achieved this season. Celebrations befitting the Champions ð« ðµ #mancity ð pic.twitter.com/gEt1xvI3HG — Manchester City (@ManCity) May 12, 2019 Now, as Liverpool gear up for the Champions League final against Hotspur in Madrid to salvage some silverware this season, Guardiola's miracle workers and their fans deserve every ounce of respect for their brilliant showing. And, as their city neighbours slump to new lows, the 'Blue Moon' continues to shine bright in Manchester.
  4. The trailer of 'Kabir Singh' finally dropped today and even though the movie is a remake of the cult hit 'Arjun Reddy', it looks exactly like the breath of crisp, fresh air we need in terms of good content in Bollywood. The movie stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead as Dr. Kabir Singh who is obsessed with his lover Preeti, played by the gorgeous Kiara Advani. Shahid looks insanely convincing with his mad genius acting skills as the self destructive, alcoholic lover lurking in the aftermath of life when Preeti is not a part of it anymore. © T-Series You know in the age of nepotism where we are treated to garishly unauthentic love stories on the screen in the form of the recently released 'SOTY 2', this dark movie proves why at the end of the day, content is the king and one needs a stellar actor like Shahid Kapoor to nail it. Sure, the classic comparison with the original 'Arjun Reddy' is uncanny and wonderfully obvious, but Mr. Kapoor knows how to own a script. Kiara looks amazingly fresh as the innocent and naïve Preeti. Also, it's not just us who feel that all awards are going his way but the fans also feel something similar. #KabirSingh official trailer - https://t.co/fdsvsY0CE2@shahidkapoor mahn ...many awards on the row waiting for you !!!!!!ðâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸ð¥ð¥ð¥ð¥ð¥ pic.twitter.com/cIZvDchxtk — Mirza Ghalib (@MirzaGh02142359) May 13, 2019 Absolutely mind blowing trailer !!! ðð¥ð¥ Rocking it perfectly as #KabirSinghð¥ #shahid — à¤à¤¯à¥à¤¶ सिà¤à¤¹ ð®ð³ (@ayush_rewa) May 13, 2019 What an amazing trailer #KabirSingh. Take a bow @shahidkapoor @Advani_Kiara. After such a disappointing start to this year with movies like Kalank and SOTY2, seems like this movie is gonna make it big. Fingers Crossed. — Supratim Sarkar (@bunnyissmm) May 13, 2019 The movie hits the screens on 21st June 2019, so you know what you've got to do.
  5. When you are looking to buy a new smartphone, the first thing people ask me is, “How's the camera?” That's a question I have to answer for budget and flagship smartphones. With mobile photography becoming more popular thanks to social media apps like Instagram and Snapchat, users need smartphones that can take great pictures, last long and deliver a smooth experience. Google answered that question with the Pixel 3, however, it really isn't affordable for everyone. Google announced the much more affordable Pixel 3a and 3a XL that delivers the same computational photography advantage as its flagship counterpart. It's got some key differences but overall offers a great value for money. Here's what we think about the new Pixel 3a XL and how our experience has been with the smartphone: Design & Display © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla When it comes to the design, the Pixel 3a Xl is very similar to the Pixel 3 in terms of looks but has some key differences. The body is now made of polycarbonate that feels very premium even though it isn't supposed to. The back has the same design as the Pixel 3 with single camera setup, a fingerprint sensor and a small Google logo at the bottom centre. It has the same minimalistic ethos as the Pixel 3 and overall has a very alluring vibe. Since the Pixel 3a is made out of polycarbonate, the device does not support wireless charging. It isn't necessary for the device however we do miss the convenience of charging it wirelessly on our bedside. The phone also has stereo speakers and the bottom audio speaker has now been moved from the chin to the bottom of the phone. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla At the front, the display is where the differences come to light as it does not have a notch design as the Pixel 3 XL. There are thick bezels at both top and bottom which gives it the classic Pixel look we've seen earlier on the smaller Pixel 3 and Pixel 2 devices. The display itself is a fullHD+ gOLED panel that is 6” in size. It has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and has an aspect ratio of 18:9. Overall, the experience on the display was extremely satisfying especially when we would watch videos on Youtube and Netflix. In fact, the colours very vivid and the blacker shades were represented well. The viewing angles were also on point, however, were a bit disappointed with the brightness levels. The brightness level is just over 400nits which isn't enough for outdoor settings with bright sunlight. Apart from the brightness level, the display was sharp and overall a great OLED panel. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla In terms of other design aspects, the Pixel 3a also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack for people who still like the option of using their own wired headphones. This also means that the Pixel 3a is not water resistant which is not a big deal if you ask me. Our senses are now naturally trained to keep our smartphones away from water and we can live without any water resistance unless you want to pay a premium for it. Camera © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Pixel smartphones are known to offer computational photography that visibly blows the competition out of the water. It uses AI and algorithms to make it easy for the average user to take some phenomenal shots. The camera on the Pixel 3a XL works the same way it does on the Pixel 3. However, it does take a bit longer to process images due to the underpowered chipset when compared to the Pixel 3. The Pixel 3a XL can take some spectacular Portrait shots that were even better than our DSLR in many instances. Pixel 3a XL also comes with Google's Night Sight feature where it takes multiple images with different exposures and contrast levels. Google's algorithm then gives the best shot with unbelievable results. Other camera features such as Top Shot, Photobooth, Playground, Super Res Zoom, Google Lens and more are built right into the app. The Pixel 3a XL has a single 12.2MP Dual-Pixel Sony IMX363 primary camera with an aperture of ƒ/1.8. The camera sensor has a field of view of 76° and 1/2.55" Sensor Size. The primary sensor has autofocus with dual pixel phase detection and optical + electronic image stabilisation. As for the selfie camera, the devices have an 8MP with an aperture of f/2.0. It has a field of view of 84° for wider selfie shots. Google also intruded a new time-lapse mode where you can set your frames to record at various intervals. This essentially will let you record a 20-minute video and condense the final video into 10 seconds. This is a handy feature for people who like to tell visual stories via video. It can be used to show more information or video content for users who love to use Instagram's story feature. We've seen this feature on other smartphones before but it's a first for Pixel devices. Camera samples from Pixel 3a XL: Software © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Pixel 3a runs Android Pie out of the box and will receive an Android Q update later this year. In terms of software, Google is running the same build as Pixel 3 and offers a similar experience. However, the only caveat is that it is slower than the Pixel 3 due to the processor. Having said that, the Pixel 3a XL can handle every feature such as AR navigation, reliable Google Assistant performance and overall offers a smooth pure Android experience. It even comes with Active Edge that basically lets users squeeze the side of the phone to access Google Assistant. Pixel 3a and 3a XL also come with unlimited storage for images at high quality, however, it does not store images of the original quality unless you are subscribed to additional storage on Google Drive. Other useful features such as Digital Wellbeing, Night Light and constant updates make this the best Android experience you can have on an affordable smartphone. Performance The Pixel 3a and 3a XL both come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 670 processor clocked at 2.0GHz and 1.7GHz and has been paired with 4GB of RAM. It's an underpowered chipset when compared to the Pixel 3's Snapdragon 855 processor but in order to offset this difference, Google has optimised the software for Pixel 3a. To be honest, when it came to performing basic tasks such as communication, navigation, internet browsing and emails, the phone did not falter once. In fact, we did not notice any slowdown during our testing period. Having said that, we did notice some underperformance while playing games like PUBG and when it came to processing images. The benchmark tests show the Pixel 3a has a good performance score considering the processor it's being powered by. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla There is some improvement when it comes to battery life as the Pixel 3a XL comes with a 3,700 mAh battery. The device lasted us for approximately 14 hours on a single charge and can be fast charged thanks to the supplied Power Delivery or PD charger. In just 15 minutes our review unit would go from 5% to 45% and add an additional 6 hours of battery backup. Having said that, we expect the battery life to improve over time with future updates and remains our only concern in the performance department. The Final Say We live in a country where it gets harder to recommend smartphones because of what it has on offer. The Pixel 3a XL offers the best photography you can find on a smartphone for its price. The Pixel 3A XL is priced in India for Rs 44,999 which is a bit hard to recommend when considering other options in the same price bracket. Having said that, if you look beyond the price you get a great smartphone that delivers amazing photography at a reduced cost. In fact, with the Pixel 3a, Google just proved that great imaging on smartphones is not reserved only for flagship smartphones.
  6. Last week, Game Of Thrones' 'The Long Night' episode had abysmal ratings all over the internet and we pointed out some key issues that were obviously very evident. Just to make it clear, I love the “Song of Ice and Fire" series; however, the last season has been disappointing for various reasons. I mean I don't want to be known as the “GOT Hater” but it is getting hard to defend the latest season. In fact, 'The Last Of The Starks' episode had its own share of issues that basically points to one thing: the showrunners are rushing the plot and have no clue what they are doing. © Rotten Tomatoes Just to give you a perspective, the first Season GOT has a 100% rating on every episode while the latest season is getting worse with every episode. “The Long Night” was second lowest episode on GOT's history as it had a rating of 73% on Rotten Tomatoes. 'The Last Of The Starks' has now dethroned the previous episode to become the second lowest rated episode with a rating of 61% at the time of writing this. The lowest rated episode in GOT's history is Season 5 Episode 6 with a rating of 54%. Many scenes and plot lines defy logic and storytelling that is the primary cause for low ratings even on Metacritic. The episode is plagued with lapses in logic that were too irritating to ignore. It seems like many decisions are made to serve as it conveniently fits the plot but isn't really demanded by it. Needless to say that if you haven't seen the episode yet, we recommend you skip this story right now; because you have been warned. Jon's True Heritage © HBO We finally got to the point where Jon shared the secret of his true ancestral heritage with Arya and Sansa. It was a key moment we've all been waiting for to see how his family would react to the news. Just before Bran tells Arya and Sansa Jon's secret, the scene is set up with Arya telling Jon that she doesn't consider him as a half-brother but in fact her real brother. They set up a scene full of emotion but it all got screwed up as we didn't get to see any reactions from the two sisters as Bran told them Jon's secret. It was probably the most important scene of this season that would set up the entire season's plot, but instead we got to see nothing. Arya simply left Winterfell and we see Sansa crying while staring at Daenerys' dragons. Where is the conflict we were supposed to see? Where are all the emotions the scene built up right before? Why would they leave such a huge moment off camera? It's not that Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner are bad actors, we've seen them give outstanding performances in previous seasons so why turn away now? The Weapon That Killed Rhaegal © HBO One of the shocking deaths was of Rhaegal as he was shot down by Scorpions used by Euron Greyjoy's fleet. Sure, that was a cool way to kill one of the dragons. However, my issue is with how he was killed. Rhaegal dies with three very precise shots that pierces through his body and ends up killing him. We've seen this weapon before as the Scorpion's bolt was first used to attack Drogon by Bronn in season 7. Here's my issue with this scene: all the three bolts right on target with utmost accuracy; however, when the same weapon is used against Drogon and Daenerys, each one of them misses. Just moments ago Euron's fleet hit every shot on Rhaegal but missed when Danny was charging them in a straight line of fire? © Hotstar Drogon is a much larger target and they still missed? Like the entire fleet targetted Drogon and not a single one hit. Sure, you could say that Rhaegal's injuries made him slower and weaker but it still doesn't justify that the entire fleet missed a larger target that was flying in a straight line towards them. This a classic case where decisions are taken for the convenience of the plot without putting any real effort or thought to them. The logic is missing because it seems like the show-runners have run out of ideas and are now just taking rushed decisions without taking logic into consideration. © HBO My other issue is with the bolt itself. Just last season we saw Drogon get injured by Bronn when he used the Scorpion to deter the attack. Drogon was visibly injured but was forced to land and Dany easily took it out. Now all of a sudden the bolt is powerful enough to destroy ships and pierce a dragon's skin. Have the bolts suddenly gotten stronger? Who will tell us that? Do the showrunners just expect us to assume that certain advances were made off-screen? C'mon guys, you can do better than that. Why Didn't Daenerys See The Fleet? © HBO Dany and her two dragons were literally 200 feet above sea level and neither of them spotted a massive fleet? I mean they could see them very clearly but both the dragons and Daenerys were flying around without having any sense of awareness? It's not like some lone-wolf was attacking them from behind a bush or something, it was an entire fleet! Given her vantage point up in the sky, Daenerys should have seen the Greyjoy fleet approaching. Ghost's Departure © HBO As a pet owner, I can't wait to get home from work and play with my dogs every day. I feel sad leaving them behind every day when coming to my workplace in the morning. It's sort of hard to believe that Ghost's departure was handled in the most unrealistic manner. Ghost has been with Jon ever since he was a pup and has saved his life many times. Ghost also battled the White Walkers and lost his ear in the 'Battle For Winterfell'. The least Jon could do was hug his direwolf before he sends him off with the free-folk. I mean, it was the saddest moment in the entire episode and we don't even see Jon interact with his pet wolf? I'm not the only one who felt this way, in fact, there were many Twitter reactions to this scene and you can read more about it here.
  7. The more I watch the ending of the last episode of 'Game of Thrones', the more convinced I am about a few revelations that will make a breakthrough in the next episode. Well, they can't leave us with unanswered questions on how Arya flew all the way, in the sneakiest way possible to kill the Night King, or how the Dothraki just disappeared in approximately 10 seconds. Everything from the 'darkest' episode in the history of TV series was a blur and we're really looking forward to some closure. © HBO A lot of fan theories are going about on the internet and we caught hold of one which made a lot of sense. Because we do need a close ended scenario here! So, do you remember the scene when Jon is trying to fight the zombie dragon, towards the end? Well, to be honest Jon didn't do much throughout the episode. He was either flying his dragon with his lover or fighting a dead dragon. But now it seems like he was helping Arya out in the end. How you ask? Well, according to a fan, while Jon was fighting and screaming at the dead dragon, he wasn't just randomly screaming at the dragon. Then what was he screaming at? © HBO Here's what the fan posted on Reddit about this theory: "Jon screamed at the undead dragon to distract it so Arya can run past and kill the Night King. The undead dragon was protecting the entrance to the Godswood. Watch it again, you can actually hear him scream 'GOOOOO – GO – GO.' 10 seconds later the scene you can see the hair of a White Walker flying up when Arya sprints past the group of White Walkers. Jon once again was ready to sacrifice himself to kill the Night King." So, basically, the dragon was manning the entry to the Godswood, so to distract him Jon started fighting him and yelling 'GO' to Arya at the same time. That'll be one interesting theory if it does come true. It'll certainly give us a fair amount of closure if nothing else! Which also means, everything was plotted and planned carefully in order to kill the Night King. But how does Arya fly all the way over to him and how is it that no one hears her coming? © HBO Well, take a look at the ending anyway, just so you can get a clearer sense of it: So, let's also add the fact that Jon was probably sacrificing himself to make Arya the last hero. Is that a fact? I want to certainly believe it because let's face it, it's Jon! Since this seems quite probable, I am really hoping they break certain revelations to us in episode 4, so we can be at peace and forgive HBO for forgetting to add enough light to watch the damn episode.
  8. It's been almost 24 years since 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' was released, but the memories are as fresh as if it was released yesterday. It fact, fresher than what most of us ate last night. © Rash Raj Films Jokes apart, when most of us were beginning to forget the movie, Shah Rukh Khan and his onscreen dad, Anupam Kher, came along and refreshed all those memories, and now my mind is playing the reel all over again. Anupam Kher is currently in New York and while sitting miles away he was missing his onscreen son Shah Rukh Khan. So, he shared this post on social media to let him know how much he's missing him, "Mere pyaare, Shah Rukh! Baas aise hi... New York mein tumhari achanak yaad ayi. 9. Sachin Tendulkar, synonymously called 'the God of cricket' for most Indians who love the sport, is known to have ruled the playing fields at all times simply with his presence. Often called the 'Masterblaster', Sachin slayed the opponent teams in hundreds of matches with a swipe of hit bat. When Sachin called it quits on cricket, Indian cricket fans lost its crowning glory and no other player (though we have real talented players in the team ATM) has been able to completely fill the vacuum he left behind since his retirement in 2013. © Twitter But when we talk about child prodigies just like Sachin, and especially in the field of cricket, we can't help but talk about this latest phenomenon that's gripped cricket enthusiasts who are not averse to cricket and entertainment going hand-in-hand. 'Selection Day' which was released on Netflix at the end of last year, was something that cricket lovers took to instantly, like a moth to a flame. © Netflix For the uninitiated, 'Selection Day' follows the story of two brothers, Radha and Manju, who are trained by their cricket obsessed father to become India's next-gen pair of greatest crickets. After decimating every team in and around their villages, they are brought to Mumbai to try their luck in domestic leagues. The last episode of Season 1 ended with the brothers facing life-changing situations and with 113 days left to selection day. Now, while we know that Sachin has constantly been associated to the cricket scene in India one way or the other, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that he recently got together with two leading actors from the Netflix show, as well as former West Indies skipper Brian Lara, for a gully cricket match! © Netflix By his own admission, Sachin shares that “I don't even remember when I played my last gully cricket match. It was probably a long time ago in Sahitya Sahawas in Bandra East where I grew up.” The video is fun to watch and we can see Sachin and Brian share some valuable insights with Radha and Javed from the Netflix show. © Netflix As for Brian Lara, he gives some precious lessons on following one's passion in whatever we one to do, and seeing it through in all sincerity. And Sachin has only one thing to add to that, “Let the journey begin from the heart”, he says. Catch all the action in this video.
  10. You can use various adjectives to describe the amiable beauty that Sonakshi Sinh truly is, but nothing fits more aptly than the title of 'Dabangg' for Ms Sinha, who has steered clear of any negativity that the glam, but sometimes, harsh world of Bollywood might throw at a star. A blockbuster debut with the 'bhai' of the glam world himself, a career path that enabled her to don many hats with the choice of roles she took over the years, Sonakshi has come a long way and carved her own niche. © Rahul Jhangiani As she gears us for her big release 'Kalank', Sonakshi graced the first-ever digital cover of iDiva where she gave a quick master class on the A-Z of Bollywood and how she slams the door on any kind of negativity in her life like a boss. “I somehow mastered the art of blocking negativity early in my career. We are in the business where social media plays an important role in our lives and everyone has an opinion they are free to put out there. It is important to understand that with the bad, comes the good and it is always better to focus on the good. Social media has its advantages and disadvantages but, mostly, it gives me direct access to my fans, " she said. Sonakshi is known for being active on social media for all the right reasons where she pours love on her fans and also slams the haters with an equal amount of energy. With Bollywood turning into a factory of new star kids making their debut every year, Sonakshi stays unperturbed with the unending comparisons and she is in no competition with anyone out there. "I love doing what I do, and that keeps me going. I get to play exciting characters and meet new people while I'm at it. My biggest learning as an actor has been that you need to keep going. There will be ups and downs which is a part of your profession. The important thing is that you need to stay positive and keep your head on your shoulders and not let your enthusiasm for your work dim. I treat every film like my first film and that's why my work excites me”. © Rahul Jhangiani © Rahul Jhangiani As they say, you're known by the company you keep. For Sonakshi, her friendships are golden, just like her name. "My closest friends are not from the industry. Their behaviour towards me hasn't changed since I became an actor and that helps keep it real. There will always be competition, but that should only be a motivator and make you work harder on yourself and your craft." Trolls, unwanted pessimism and hate have no place in the world of Sonakshi Sinha who is Bollywood's 'asli Sona' and she knows exactly how to make things change her way, thanks to her own Midas touch.
  11. The whole world is gearing up to watch superheroes in action on the big screens, but looks like the nation has already found one in real life in an Indian Navy officer, Lt. Rahul Dalal. People say that an officer is 'never off-duty' and Lt. Rahul Dalal's bravery and courageous act just reiterates the same. Lt. Rahul Dalal was enjoying the evening of April 5 with his wife at Vypin beach, when he noticed a person struggling in water. He was unable to swim and was crying for help. © Facebook There was a huge crowd, but sadly no one was able to help him. So, without giving a second thought, Rahul jumped straight into the water and rescued him within half an hour. It wasn't easy at all, as both Rahul's and the drowning man's lives were at risk because of the strong under-current. "The officer also had to deal with the desperate and panicked victim who was pulling him down, putting both their lives in danger. The officer calmed the victim and made him hold onto his shoulders, after which he started swimming towards the beach. Lt Dalal mustered all his strength and managed to reach the shore with help of some locals," read the Facebook post shared by the official page of Indian Navy. It was further mentioned, "The victim, however, was not breathing and was unconscious. When his mouth was opened, it was found that some plants were choking his air passage. Lt Dalal cleared the passage and administered Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, whereupon the victim was revived." The drowning man, identified as Mr. Dileep Kumar from Aurangabad, was then rushed to a Government hospital where he was discharged after recuperation. Stories like these and people like Lt. Rahul Dalal are the real superheroes who restore our faith in humanity with their selfless efforts.

  13. The countdown for 'Avengers: Endgame' has already begun and Joe Russo's recent India visit has been quite eventful and only added to the insane buzz that is surrounding the finale that everyone is dying to watch. During his interaction with the media and fans, Joe Russo revealed many unknown facts and information around the movie franchise. Interestingly, he revealed that 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' had a connection with our beloved Rajinikanth. Apparently, he was inspired by Rajnikanth's 'Robot' for a sequence in the Avengers movie. “Robot almost influenced the climatic moments in Avengers: Age of Ultron [which was directed by Joss Whedon]. In one of the final scenes, all the Ultrons were supposed to form a large Ultron and Avengers were set to fight that but the sequence got cut for time. It was this close. It was inspired directly by Robot." He also revealed that he is aware of the 'Dabangg' franchise and if he had to choose Bollywood actors for acting in his superhero movies, he'd pick Salman Khan and Rajinikanth any day. Well, there is a reason why we call him the 'Thalaiva' and the fact that even Joe Russo is inspired by the legend, it's proof enough that he is a real life super hero for everyone . 'Avengers: Endgame' is releasing on 26th April so get ready for the madness to unleash.

Promotions of the movie, which brought the film's co-director Joe Russo to India. While every desi Marvel fan is curious to know about Thanos' fate and that of the fallen superheroes, there's one man who's only concern is to see Joe Russo's reaction to eating spicy Indian food. The man in question is Thor aka Chris Hemsworth. Looks like Hemsworth wants Joe Russo to not only sweat in the heat, but also feel it in his stomach by eating rogan josh and butter chicken. © Twitter Chris Hemsworth loves India and calls it one of the best places on the planet. Well, we're not surprised, who doesn't love India or Indian food. Hemsworth was in India last year, shooting in Ahmedabad and Mumbai for his upcoming project 'Dhaka'. In fact, Hemsworth, during a fan-event on Monday, expressed his love for the country through a video message where he said "What's up everybody in the beautiful country of India? The countdown has begun. Avengers: Endgame will be in cinemas soon." He further said, "Our director Joe Russo has come to the beautiful country. I have come myself. It is one of the best places on the planet. Sorry couldn't be there this time. Joe thinks he can handle some spicy food and I have told him to try some rogan josh and some butter chicken... see if he can handle the heat. Lot of love guys and hope to see you soon." Let's see if Joe Russo wins the challenge or admits defeat in front of the power of spices in Indian food.

  16. In the world of sports, more often than not, age tends to catch up with some of the best in business. In the past, we've seen many athletes struggling to replicate success in the later stages of their respective careers. Their bodies are no longer agile and it eventually affects their mindset, resulting in unfavourable performances. But, there is one athlete who is giving old age a run for its money and rapidly proving that determination and hard work is all you need to succeed in sports. At 103, centenarian Man Kaur recently sent shockwaves across the sports fraternity by bagging a World Masters gold. Plying her trade in the shot put event, Kaur secured a gold-medal finish at the coveted World Masters Athletics Meet in Torun, Poland. © Twitter The tournament, that also involves events like track and field, cross country and road running, is specifically designed to test the limits of athletes above 35 years of age. It was at this event where Kaur clinched the yellow metal with a best effort of 2.13 metres. "I want to win more. I feel very happy after winning. The government has not given me anything, but it doesn't matter as I just want to win, because winning gives me happiness," Kaur was quoted as saying by TOI. Despite bagging gold, Kaur isn't satisfied, just as yet. She now aims to break the world record, which is 2.77 metres - currently held by America's Julia Hockings. "I want to set the new world record in future," she said. This Sikh woman is 102-years-old and still smashing running records. 17. This is the right time for a film like 'Kesari' to ride the patriotic wave that's risen in the country, as many who've misplaced their sense of belonging right now can bring it back with this insanely impactful movie. The Akshay Kumar starrer brewed a solid total of almost 100-crore in the first week of its release and if you haven't watched it yet, it's time to get your a*s to the nearest cinema. The film was released on the occasion of Holi, this year and currently it stands at 87 crore. © Zee Studios 'Kesari' is definitely and by far the biggest opener of 2019 and of course the second biggest show-stopper for Akshay Kumar, after 'Gold'. Fortunately, this also makes Akshay Kumar's ninth hit in a row after 'Gold' (102.10 crore), 'PadMan' (78.22 crore), 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' (132.07 crore), 'Jolly LLB 2' (117 crore), 'Rustom' (127.49 crore), 'Housefull 3' (109.14 crore), 'Airlift' (128.1 crore), and 'Singh Is Bliing' (89.95 crore). 18. The twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) brought two heavyweights Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) facing each other at a packed MA Chidambaram stadium on 23rd March. To set the hearts racing, the opening match also pitted two of the biggest names in international cricket - MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli - against each other. But, in a contest that had star players including the likes of Kohli, Dhoni and AB de Villiers, an unlikely candidate managed to steal the spotlight. © Twitter/IPL Harbhajan Singh stunned the RCB and left every cricket fan in awe with a brilliant bowling spell that ended with impressive figures of 3-20. The inclusion of Harbhajan, who took just seven wickets in 13 games last season, in the Chennai line-up had surprised cricket pundits and fans alike. But, the off-spinner repaid the faith of his captain and team management with a brilliant outing. For someone who took his last T20 wicket against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on 11th May last year, Bhajji appeared to be a class of his own as he claimed the prized wickets of Kohli, De Villiers and Moeen Ali. Thanks to his bowling effort, Chennai managed to restrict RCB to a mere 70-run total - the sixth-lowest total in IPL history. © Twitter/IPL In reply, Chennai chased the paltry total with seven wickets and 14 deliveries to spare. Harbhajan was also adjudged the 'Man of the Match' for his pivotal bowling effort. "This is a special award for me. It goes to my wife and family. You cannot ask for a better start. Since they have a lot of left-handers, Fleming came and told me I will be playing. It was nice to get a wicket up front and once you have it, your confidence level grows up. Imran bowled really well and it's always nice to get wickets of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. How often an off-spinner gets their wickets," Harbhajan said at the post-match press conference.
  19. For someone who was labelled by MS Dhoni as his potential successor, Rishabh Pant has struggled to live up to the hype in the recent opportunities he got. While his wicket-keeping skills are still a work in progress, Pant's batting, where he failed to build on his stats, had attracted a lot of criticism. But, on 24th March, the dashing left-hander silenced everyone by playing one of the most exciting knocks in T20 cricket. Carrying the baton for a new-look Delhi Capitals (DC), Pant smoked an unbeaten 27-ball 78 to power his team to a mammoth 213-run total against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) clash. Coming out to bat, with his side looking to surge ahead at 112/3, the 21-year-old went about his business in the usual unorthodox manner. For someone who smacked his second ball in international cricket (Test debut against England last year) for a six, Pant took no time to settle at the crease as he began clobbering the Mumbai attack all around the park, with his best shot being a helicopter-flick off Jasprit Bumrah's yorker. © Twitter/@IPL He notched up his fifty in just 18 deliveries and surpassed his idol Dhoni who had achieved the feat against Mumbai in 20 balls back in 2012. Pant's half-century was also the third-fastest fifty in the IPL. KL Rahul currently leads the list of fastest fifty in the IPL, having reached the mark in 14 deliveries last season. Sunil Narine and Yusuf Pathan share the second spot with their fifties coming in 15 balls. Pant's blistering knock was decorated with seven fours and as many sixes, while his strike-rate of over 288 speaks about his big-hitting. To put things in perspective, Delhi's run-rate was 8.61 when Pant came out to bat, and by the time he was done (end of the innings), his side had surged to a run-rate of 10.65. © Twitter/@IPL In reply, Yuvraj Singh's valiant fifty kept Mumbai in the hunt (for a while) and Krunal Pandya, too, chipped in with a 15-ball 32. But, the three-time IPL champions just couldn't break the first-match jinx, losing the contest by 37 runs - an opening game defeat for seventh season in a row. For a man who was recently getting slammed for his exploits on the field, Pant's blazing knock served a stark reminder to his critics that he's here to stay. 20. Emila Clarke aka 'the Mother of Dragons' is a brilliant actress but sometimes, actors draw inspiration from their real-life journey to ensure the strong portrayal of their on-screen character. Emilia Clarke, turns out, is a true warrior in real-life as well. The 'GOT' actress recently opened up about her insane struggle fighting two life-threatening brain surgeries right after the first season closed back in 2011. Speaking about how it began and what actually happened, she explained in detail, “It was in 2011 after the filming of the first season of GoT. The publication quoted Emilia saying, “At some level, I knew what was happening: my brain was damaged. For a few moments, I tried to will away the pain and nausea.” She was only 24 then and was desperate to give up on life. "In my worst moments, I wanted to pull the plug. I asked the medical staff to let me die.” View this post on Instagram YUP. My people did good. Hours and I mean HOURS later. I could see my life ahead, and it wasn't worth living. I am an actor; I need to remember my lines. Now I couldn't recall my name. For a few moments, I tried to will away the pain and the nausea. I said to myself, “I will not be paralyzed.” I moved my fingers and toes to make sure that was true. To keep my memory alive, I tried to recall, among other things, some lines from Game of Thrones.” View this post on Instagram Just for the halibut. Bits of my skull had been replaced by titanium. These days, you can't see the scar that curves from my scalp to my ear, but I didn't know at first that it wouldn't be visible. And there was, above all, the constant worry about cognitive or sensory losses. Would it be concentration? Memory? Peripheral vision? Now I tell people that what it robbed me of is good taste in men. But, of course, none of this seemed remotely funny at the time.” Who knew that a human, who takes up the task of entertaining people with her job, is undergoing and enduring so much pain in her life off-camera. This story proves that Emilia is a real-life warrior, a true 'Khaleesi' in the real sense!

  23. Back in 2013, when Neymar joined Barcelona, the world of football was busy contemplating the attacking threat he'd pose alongside Lionel Messi for the Catalan giants. A year later, the arrival of Luis Suarez at Camp Nou allowed Barcelona to boast of one of the deadliest attacking trios in club football. What was soon labelled as 'MSN', the partnership between Messi, Neymar and Suarez allowed Barcelona to scale new heights as the Spanish giants went past one opponent after another, adding more silverware to their trophy cabinet. But, the iconic partnership came to an end in 2017 when Neymar decided to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for a record 222-million-euro fee. © Reuters Since then, there has been a lot of speculation about Neymar's departure from the La Liga club. While some suggested that he was unhappy with the wages, others claimed that Neymar was tired of playing under the shadows of Barca talisman Messi. In fact, a few days ago, Neymar's father had to clarify that Messi had nothing to do with his son's exit from Barcelona. Following in the footsteps of his father, Neymar, too, has come out praising Messi's influence during his stint at Barcelona. In an emotional interview with publication Globo Esporte, the Brazilian revealed how welcoming the Argentine was when he was finding his footing at Camp Nou. © Reuters "It's a story I tell everyone. At the time when I needed the most support, the man on the team, the best in the world, came and gave me love. Leo was a very special guy for me at Barcelona. He talked to me and said: '[When you] come here, you must be yourself, you must be happy and the same as in Santos. Do not be shy, do not be afraid of me or anyone in this club. We are here to help you'," Neymar revealed. Following his departure from Barcelona, Neymar has gone on to form another deadly partnership with Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani at PSG. While he is currently nursing his injury, Neymar has proved to be a vital cog in the PSG set-up, scoring 48 goals in 53 appearances. The 27-year-old is expected to make a comeback for PSG in the vital second-leg clash against Manchester United in the Round Of 16 tie of the ongoing Champions League on 7th March.
