  1. Kate Middleton began dating Prince William while studying history of art at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
  2. Flirting with others online can damage real-life relationships, and may lead to “passionate” feelings toward online potential
  3. Meghan Markle's old blog post hints that she knew the royal family before meeting Harry despite what she told Oprah Winfrey
  4. Joe Jonas changed the lyrics to an old song to confirm that he's on good terms with his ex-Taylor Swift
  5. She publicly berates her billionaire son, telling him his tweet about mysteriously dying was not funny
  6. ‘I’d have done the same thing’, said my boyfriend this morning when he and I were discussing what went down at the Oscars the night when actor Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock for making a joke in poor taste at Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. View this post on Instagram Chris Rock, while on the stage at the Oscars, took a dig at Jada by calling her ‘G. I Jane’, pointing at the loss of her hair at which she wasn’t amused in the slightest. And neither was Will Smith, who even though was caught laughing at the joke at first, was suddenly then seen marching up to the stage to strike Chris across the face. © Twitter Now, two kinds of reactions flooded the internet when this happened - one like my boyfriend, who condoned Smith’s actions and others like me, who don’t stand for the violence it endorsed. But it wasn’t until I asked my boyfriend why he would do what Smith did, that things became a tad bit clearer to me. That it was probably more about Will Smith than it was about Jada in that one brief moment. Most men, thanks to society, have been conditioned to be the ‘protectors’ and ‘knights in shining armour’ for women, expected to protect them and their honour. Which is why, when Will Smith smacked the shit out of Chris Rock at the Oscars and on worldwide television, it was hailed as an intense act of chivalry. And one such example supporting my argument is when actress Sienna Miller was heard endorsing Smith’s actions at the Oscars after-party as she told her date, ‘I hope you would do the same for me.’ If someone attacked my wife unprovoked, they would get more than a slap! Will smith is totally justified, if you ask me. — Beauvoir (@BeauKariuki) March 29, 2022I believe he was justified. He's may not be a perfect husband or dad. But he's a man. Who is perfect? Chris certainly wasn't that's why he collected a slap in the first place so.. Well sometimes do your mind. The world will adjust with time. I stand Will Smith forever — Silas Marner (@Iam_whiterice) March 29, 2022#WillSmithAssault My opinion on the will smith slap, it’s justified, cope. It was a bitch slap, he won’t die, calm down. — Phantom (@MVPhantom_) March 29, 2022 And then there were a bunch of folks in the comment section, talking about how a man shouldn’t be called a ‘MAN’ if he doesn’t feel riled up at a joke made at his woman’s expense. The exaggerated machismo in the commented section was probably as unnecessary as Smith’s slap, and I’ll tell you why that is. Will Smith just punched Chris Rock and told him "keep my wife's name out of your f***ing mouth" pic.twitter.com/1f1ytdbMRv — CJ Fogler (@cjzer0) March 28, 2022 Simply, because these are the same people who have often stood silent at the bylines when they’ve witnessed a woman getting harassed in a metro or in a classroom. But when it comes to a public show like this one, when the world is watching, you don’t want to look like a weakling who stayed mum, you want to look strong and tough and so, the best you can come up with is an unwarranted slap. View this post on Instagram Let’s re-imagine the entire situation for a second, this time with a little tweak... Instead of Will Smith getting up and walking up to Rock to beat the shit out of him, let’s wonder what would have happened if he had given himself a few seconds to analyze and control his emotions. Would he still have gotten up to smack the comedian? Probably not. And I know that because, despite the people who support his violent outburst on National Television, he himself doesn’t condone his actions. And his apology made that pretty apparent. Will Smith apologises to Chris Rock for Oscars slap: 'I was out of line and I was wrong' - Variety. Next some other fool will use the same excuse when they kill someone, not good enough https://t.co/RhJR5Qn9t1 — leila rezazad (@gilass) March 29, 2022 Yes, Chris Rock might have gone too far, trying to get a laugh out of someone’s trauma, but at the end of the day, doesn’t taking jokes come with the territory of being a celebrity? While I agree that just because it’s part and parcel of showbiz to know how to stomach a joke (even a nasty one), one can’t and shouldn’t have to put up with something that’s hurtful. But does it really have to warrant a violent reaction? If getting the point across was really the purpose here, his yelling would have sufficed. But the idea here was something else, it was to match up to the standards of being an ‘ideal man’ who would fight for his woman. Had there been a physical threat at Jada and her safety, I’d understand where his reaction would have stemmed from, but for a joke that, according to several people wasn’t even extremely offensive to begin with, Will Smith’s actions were totally uncalled for and came as a cry for help. The hypocrisy of Hollywood making woke noises that make nice liberal soundbites but then when #WillSmith unprofessional slaps a colleague on stage and cusses from his seat, he is comforted and later applauded and joined at after parties. Did anyone ask how Chris Rock was? — Frankly Brutal (@candidandhonest) March 29, 2022 After all, the hypocrisy of Will Smith and everyone else who condoned his actions wasn’t lost on anyone. Because if what Chris Rock said was bad, how Will Smith reacted was worse. And perhaps that is why, all of us who were divided over our opinion on the matter, are a 'work in progress' too, just like Smith said he was in his apology! View the full article
  7. Virat Kohli’s brand value has taken a massive hit in the last 12 months, going down from around $238 million (Rs 1,803 cr) in 2020 to $181 million (Rs 1,371 cr) in 2021. This massive plunge is a direct result of what transpired on the field in the last six months. The Delhi batter is not the leader anymore. He relinquished T20I and Test captaincy on his own but was sacked unceremoniously from the 50-over role by the Indian cricket board. He even stepped down from the RCB captaincy. © Reuters His performances on the field weren’t great either and not to forget he was also involved in various controversies with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and its president Sourav Ganguly over the last few months and all this has caused a huge dip in his brand value. “One of the major factors for this drop was the increased risk associated with his brand and with the recent stepping down from captaincy and controversy with the BCCI,” Aviral Jain, Managing Director, Duff & Phelps, the agency that published this report, was quoted as saying by Moneycontrol. © Reuters Despite his brand value taking a huge plunge, the 33-year-old still continues to be India’s top celebrity brand endorser for the fifth consecutive year. He has eclipsed the likes of Ranveer Singh ($158m) and Akshay Kumar ($140m), Aliya Bhatt ($68m) who occupy the next three spots on the list. Even though his valuation has gone down considerably, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper still endorses more than 30 brands. Despite the plunge, he continues to be the most valuable athlete in the country. © Reuters There is a stark difference in Kohli’s brand value and the next cricketer on the list – MS Dhoni who has a valuation of $61m. The former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, who guided them to their fourth IPL trophy last year, has seen a rise in his valuation but he is still miles behind his RCB compatriot. © Reuters Rohit Sharma, who took Kohli’s place as India’s new all-format captain, has also seen his brand value increase from $25.7 million in 2020 to $32.2 million in 2021 Just to put into perspective, the loss Kohli endured on his brand value was way more than Rohit’s current brand valuation. Just looking at the numbers, the Mumbai Indians skipper has a huge catching up to do before he can rival Kohli’s brand popularity. There’s no doubt that Kohli's numbers have gone down but he is still the undisputed king of the brand endorsement industry and it’s a testament to his overall supremacy. View the full article
  8. Looks like the Pushpa fever is not going to fade off easily. After Allu Arjun’s craz blockbuster movie left the entire global audience impressed with his acting skills, the movie broke new barriers for pan-Indian entertainment appetite. Besides great storytelling, good cinematography and Allu Arjun’s stupendous acting, the movie is also known for giving fans their current favourite track called Oo Antava. The special dance number starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu got viral, was dubbed in over four languages and has gotten so popular, that the actress claims people only remember her for this now. Continuing the streak of its domination, the song has moved from Pan Indian audience to a global one. The famous number was recently played at the ongoing Miami Ultra Music festival . #OoAntavaOoOoAntava at Ultra Miami.. Incredible reach to say the least.. Pan India ah bokka @alluarjun. Pan world.. #Pushpa.. At the biggest music festival in the world.. @PushpaMovie pic.twitter.com/sq6Bf6E9sn — . (@urstrulyaaykayj) March 27, 2022 A lot of people who were attending the festival shared videos of others dancing to the song. Even Samantha and Allu Arjun reacted to it. © Instagram In case you didn’t know, Ultra Music Festival is the world’s largest electronic music festival attended by lakhs of fans who come every year. After the raging success of Pushpa, the makers are currently working on its sequel and as per reports, Disha Patani will be performing a special dance number in this one. View the full article
  9. Only 90s kids remember how Holi used to be back when we were in school. We started preparations weeks earlier. However, it was the night before Holi that we got super excited and just couldn’t sleep. We would fill and stock the water balloons the night before, keep our Holi clothes neatly folded on the bed and make strategies in our head while trying to sleep. © © iStock However, the real fun started in the morning and we would be lying if we said that was not the most fun and amazing day of the whole year for us. Plus, since the 90s kids were practically crazy (we still are), they have the most hilarious and weird stories from their childhood on what went down on Holi. Disclaimer: It’s all about bhaang, balloons and some batshit crazy stuff. © iStock Here are some of the weirdest and most amazing yet funniest stories that desis shared on Reddit and it’s making us miss the madness of Holi we experienced as kids: 1. “My brother consumed some Bhang....He slept around 2 pm after playing Holi and woke up (came to his consciousness) on the 3rd day. Got up, took shower, wore his evening clothes and started putting Gulal on everyone. He was in 8th standard and I was in 10th. I was shocked and really scared because it was my first experience seeing someone behaving like this and I cried my heart out in the washroom because I thought I had lost my brother.” –shoppingstyleandus © iStock 2. “I loved Holi so much that I couldn't sleep the night before and used to end up filling water in balloons all through the night! One time…Someone close aimed the water balloon so well at me that it ended up hitting hard on my ear and kind of did a small rupture in my eardrum!” –xistential_dread35 © iStock 3. “On Holi, my friends got bhaang and made thandai. Now, nothing happened for a couple of hours - we joked the guy who got bhaang was duped. We were done playing Holi and were now washing off the stubborn colours at a tap outside. One of my friends was gently rubbing his palm against the wall to scrub off the colour. And then it happened. He wouldn't stop scrubbing. One of us said - "ise chadh gayi hai"...then someone said something worth half a chuckle. But another guy's chuckle soon became hysterical laughter. In a few minutes, he was rolling on the ground laughing while everyone else was left bemused.” –lazenby1985 © iStock 4. “A friend of mine, got hold of a lot of balloons to use on Holi. He said he got it from someone he knew - that they were throwing out balloons from a medical clinic. We were overjoyed - more so because the balloons were so elastic and could really hold a lot of water. While we were filling it up, some aunty saw and complained to my mother and I got a good scolding. I had no idea why. But she confiscated all these balloons and threw them in the garbage. I was so heartbroken and hated my parents so much that day. Many years later I thought about it and realized that these balloons were condoms.” –Electronic-Salary515 © iStock 5. “I was out for 12hrs straight. So, during my graduation, I went back home to celebrate holi with a few friends. There were some friends, who had made sherbat with bhang added onto them. Now these guys made us drink atleast two glasses of bhang for each one of us. I bleakly remember…that I was lying down on the lap of a female friend and continuously telling her "Hey Kali mata maine bahot paap kiya hai mujhe maaf kar de" (Hey Goddess Kali, I have committed a lot of sins. Please forgive me) and she was laughing her heart out. Later when I heard this story, I vowed never to drink any kind of bhang stuff.” –Unknown © iStock Okay, it proves that Holi is and can never be the same, especially now post-pandemic. However, we are glad we had the most amazing time playing like crazy kids back in the day. View the full article

  11. A few months back at an interview round table, Taapsee Pannu & Sanya Malhotra had complained about disparity between a male and female lead. They had talked about how the biggest of the actresses play second fiddle to an actor but not the other way round. You don’t see major stars doing supporting roles in films centred around an actress. It often happens in Hollywood where male stars do supporting roles in films but it rarely happens in Bollywood. Well, with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi, Ajay Devgn has proved why he is the most secure superstar in the Hindi film industry. © Bhansali Productions While the film is centred around Alia Bhatt’s character and she has nailed her performance, Ajay Devgn plays an important supporting role and adds value to the narrative. This is truly one of the few times where a major movie star has accepted a supporting role in a female-centric film in Bollywood. Moreover, his character isn’t romantically involved with Alia’s character. In fact, the two share a brother-sister kinda relationship. Having said that, Gangubai Kathiawadi isn’t the only time Ajay Devgn has proved why he is the most secure Bollywood star, he has done it time and again. In an industry and a profession where actors are highly insecure about their image and ageing on-screen, Ajay Devgn has displayed it quite frequently and successfully. In the 2019 rom-com De De Pyar De, he played a 50-year-old man and the film actually addressed the age gap in his relationship with a girl who was 24 years younger than him. The May-December romantic comedy was a success at the box office. © T-Series Two years before that in the 2017 blockbuster Golmaal Again, there is a whole subplot where Ajay’s character has fallen head over heels in love with Parineeti Chopra’s character not knowing that she is a ghost (spoiler alert?) and he is actually a fatherly figure to her. In fact, throughout the film, there is a running joke about Ajay’s character being of her father’s age. In one sequence, Arshad Warsi’s character points out “Bachpan-Pachpan”. Which other superstar would do that? © Reliance Entertainment Sure, Aamir Khan played a father in Dangal but for that, he completely changed his appearance and his daughters in the film weren’t leading stars back then. Also, the film showed the journey of his character from young to old. In the 2016 film Fitoor, Ajay Devgn was seen in a special appearance where he played a fatherly figure to one of the young stars of today, Aditya Roy Kapur who starred alongside Katrina Kaif. © UTV Motion Pictures In the 2004 film Taarzan the Wonder Car, when Ajay was only 35 years old, he played a father to the film’s lead hero Vatsal Seth. © Baba Films This isn’t all! Ajay Devgn is also possibly the only current superstar to have starred in a horror film. Horror is a genre that is considered highly difficult to execute and its success rate of it is quite low. Despite that, Ajay Devgn not only starred in one but it also turned out to be a cult hit in the genre. The film was Ram Gopal Varma’s 2003 hit Bhoot. © Nitin Manmohan Now, I am not saying Ajay hasn’t romanced actresses 20 plus years younger than him or hasn’t tried to play a younger guy than his current age. But, at a time when other superstars are trying to hold on to their leading man image, he is the only one breaking stereotypes. Whether playing his age on screen or doing a supporting role in a female-centric film, Ajay Devgn is a superstar like no other. View the full article
