  1. Ever since the news of Sourav Ganguly emerging as a unanimous candidate for the position of Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) broke out, cricket pundits and fans have backed the former Indian captain to do good in his new role. While his impending appointment as the new BCCI chief has become the talk of the town, it was Ganguly's tongue-in-cheek response to a scribe that has taken social media by storm. After filing his nomination for the influential post, Ganguly was met with a hero's welcome upon his return to Kolkata recently. The former Indian cricketer also held a press conference where he answered numerous queries of the journalists in attendance. But, one question, in particular, evoked a hilarious response from Ganguly. Responding to the question whether he has spoken with Ravi Shastri, Ganguly left everyone in splits by saying, "Why? What has he (Shastri) has done now?". If his response brought a smile to the faces of scribes in the room, it further sparked a laugh riot amongst the Indian cricket fans on social media. © Twitter/@BCCI Those who don't know, Ganguly and Shastri haven't really seen eye to eye for a while now. During the interview process for the position of Team India coach in 2016, The duo was seen firing pot-shots at each other. The BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which was comprised of Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, had picked Anil Kumble for the coaching job - a position Shastri had also applied for. After Kumble's appointment as coach, Shastri had accused Ganguly of being absent during his interview and said he found it "disrespectful". In response to the accusations, Ganguly said: "If Shastri thinks I was behind the appointment of Kumble as the coach and not him, then he is living in a fool's paradise". While we aren't sure if Ganguly's latest remark was yet another dig at Shastri, it surely got the fans cracking up hard on social media. 2. Actress Swara Bhasker is currently on cloud nine after she found out that Amitabh Bachchan, in the recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), asked a question related to her 2017 film Anarkali of Aarah. She expressed her immense joy with Big B taking her name in the show and tweeted, “OMG! I heard that living legend #AmitabhBachchan just read out a question & said my name in the process. Anarkali of Aarah is touted to be Swara's one of the best performances so far in which she plays the role of a dancer from Bihar, who fights for herself and stands against sexual molestation. The 31-year-old actress was last seen in the film Veere Di Wedding, along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Shikha Talsania among others. The actress will be next seen in Faraz Arif Ansari's same-*** love story Sheer Qorma with Divya Dutta and acclaimed actress Shabana Azmi.
  3. If you haven't seen the swan song of 'Game of Thrones', you probably shouldn't read ahead. With Stark children in all their 'rightful' places that in a way defines closure for them as characters, we now know that they're doing something they've had intentions of before but never got around doing because of circumstances. Like how Jon once said to Ygritte that he wanted to wander around sans responsibility. He's doing that, in the end, considering no one needs a Night's Watch anymore. And Arya is off for another adventure, something she once mentioned during her time in Braavos. © HBO Arya once asked, "Essos is East. Westeros is West, but what's West of Westeros?" A question no one in Westeros can answer because that's where all the maps end. No one really knows. With the White Walkers dead, and the Mad Queen murdered, there's really no action left in Westeros. They're going to try and rebuild the city and the damage a dragon and his mother had caused. But sedentary life was never made for Arya. She's already declined Gendry's proposal because that's not her. But here's the thing, after wrapping up a successful series like 'Game of Thrones', HBO is open to the idea of spin-offs, one of which is already in the making. But here's a spin-off we wouldn't mind watching: Arya the Adventurer and her explorations of a world beyond Westeros. Arya mentioned back in Season 6 to Lady Crane that no one knows what's West of Westeros. So she created her own Stark fleet with a Stark sigil atop. Fans have requested for the spin-off on her extended storyline and honestly, it makes sense. Unlike the show, the books do provide a little information about what's West of Westeros. Like Daenerys, Arya will have to cross the Sunset Sea. According to the 'Wiki of Ice and Fire', the Sunset Sea contains animals like swordfish, seals and whales but no one has ever successfully crossed this sea, according to Martin. Somewhat fittingly, the last person to try was another King Bran Stark — Brandon the Shipwright from the North. But he was never heard of again. But now we know Arya is made differently. She can survive this and that would make for a brilliant story that we'd love to hear.
  4. Christopher Henry Gayle, this man has grown to become the bane of a lot of bowlers' existence through his 20 years of batting for the Windies team and the thought of bowling six deliveries to this batting legend seems to be a harrowing one. But, as a member of a cricket team, you have got to do what your captain says. Thus, came in the 25-year-old Mohammed Siraj to bowl his first over of the game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) with the 'Universe Boss', himself on strike. To add to Siraj's misery, his first over also happened to be the final one of the batting Power Play for the Kings XI so Gayle had a little extra motivation to lookout for bigger shots during these six deliveries. Opening the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowler's over with a four on the first ball, Gayle smoked Siraj for a six and another four on the second and third deliveries, respectively. Letting the gasping pacer breathe for a dot ball, Gayle continued the onslaught hitting another six and a four on the last two deliveries of the spell, bagging a total of 24 runs in the sixth over, all for himself. SIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRAAAA-J WELCOME! ð 4,6,4, Gayle has decided to unleash and he's taking on Siraj here. ð#SaddaPunjab #KXIPvRCB #KXIP #VIVOIPL — Kings XI Punjab (@lionsdenkxip) April 13, 2019 Siraj went on to bowl three more overs of his quota but resulted in becoming the most expensive bowler for the Virat Kohli side giving away 54 runs in 24 legal deliveries. Throughout the 2019 season of the IPL, Siraj has been one of the costliest bowlers not only for Bangalore but the entire league. Having bowled 22.1 overs this season, Siraj has let off 210 runs while bagging just six scalps with an economy rate of 9.47. After his first showing of the match, RCB fans took to Twitter to speculate as to what keeps the team managers of the squad from dropping him: Mohammed Siraj has @imVkohli 's nudes. Why else would he be selected? #KXIPvRCB — Harshith (@CS_Harshith) April 13, 2019 It's hard to understand why @imVkohli is still having Mohammed Siraj in the @RCBTweets team after so many disappointing performances by him. #IPL2019 #KXIPvsRCB — Vaibhav K (@VaibhavKajarek2) April 13, 2019 Still a better bowler than Mohammed Siraj ð𤣠#VIVOIPL #PerfectFan #HYDERABAD #KXIPvRCB #PLAYBOLD pic.twitter.com/C2hKZg4eNj — Prithvi Cena (@prithvicena21) April 13, 2019 Hey @RCBTweets why is #MohammedSiraj is in playing X1 such a useless player — Sushith (@Sushithsuvarna) April 13, 2019 Mohammed siraj = lol — Prashanth Karanth (@Prashanth511) April 13, 2019

  6. Right from the ghettos to terminating world records in powerlifting, 23-year-old Larry Wheels is a powerlifting pop-culture legend in the making. While Larry's been on the PL scene for a long time now, social media has now catapulted his fame internationally. With the help of social media, Larry is an underground PL legend already. Before we get deep into Larry's upbringing, let me break down some of his exploits on the PL stage - he deadlifts 855 pounds (387 kilos), benches 276 (kilos) and squats 810 pounds (367 kilos). Is he an official Hall Of Famer yet? Well, if not that, he really is the champion of the PL people. A post shared by Larry (@larrywheels) on Jul 10, 2018 at 7:38pm PDT Before becoming a champion power lifter, Larry was housed with foster parents. Not a steady family but multiple over time, ever since his mother lost his custody when he was 7. At the age of 12, he dropped out of school and landed right into alcohol and substance abuse. Eventually, Larry had to come back to his mother. Out of school, broke and trying to get out of drugs, he invested himself into exercising. He started with just a broomstick, concrete blocks and sticks. He had a bicycle which he used to ride out daily, till the time he was absolutely tired. Soon, working out was his new drug. From The Shadows Comes The Goliath The same programs I used to break the 242 and 275 record are in my bio now! The programs focus on the squat, bench and deadlift. Plenty of volume and accessory work to give you that bodybuilder shape while smashing PRs like a powerlifter! All programs only 19.99! A post shared by Larry (@larrywheels) on Jun 21, 2018 at 5:33am PDT Soon, Larry grew out of the make-shift home gym and it was time for him to step into a real iron arcade. However, his mother couldn't afford the fees as she waited tables at a local restaurant. Looking at this, Larry also started working at a restaurant to afford his gym fee and joined a gym regardless. A year deep into lifting weights in the gym, Larry was sure about two things: weight lifting was his passion and second, he was a genetic freak, light years ahead from anybody training for strength. He started out-doing his peers and setting new local records. Thus, he decided to take this up seriously and made a decision to make a career in powerlifting. Baffling Shift From Powerlifting To Bodybuilding At the age of 18, Larry competed in RPS powerlifting meet. Though he was 247 pounds at that time, he still competed in the 275 weight category and won the gold. Since then, this champion has been on a record-breaking spree. In November 2017, he made a combined world record of 2275 pounds in powerlifting. The real surprise came when he competed in a bodybuilding competition just after 3 months of making the world record in powerlifting. Not only did he compete but he also won the NPC Gold Coast Muscle Classic bodybuilding event. The word was out: Larry was a muscle Goliath on the prowl. Click link in bio for training programs. 14. Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is interviewed by Anderson Cooper of CBS News' '60 Minutes' program, March 25, 2018. CBSNews/60 MINUTES/Handout via REUTERS A federal judge has rejected adult film star Stormy Daniels? request for permission to question US President Donald Trump and schedule a trial soon in her lawsuit to end her agreement to remain silent about her alleged sexual encounter with the US president. US District Judge S. James Otero in Los Angeles said Thursday the request by Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, to depose Trump and his personal lawyer Michael Cohen was premature because they had yet to formally request that she arbitrate her claims. The judge said the defendants? eventual response might address some open issues, limiting the need to gather evidence. Daniels had sought a trial as soon as this summer. Michael Avenatti, a lawyer for Daniels, tweeted that the order does ?not bode well for the defendants? and suggested ?that there is a strong likelihood that the Court will ultimately agree with our requests for discovery and a trial?. Cohen and his lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Daniels wants to end an agreement from October 2016, the month before Trump was elected president, under which she received $130,000 in what she called hush money to keep quiet about a relationship she claimed to have begun with Trump in 2006. According to Daniels, the agreement is void because Trump never signed it, and the $130,000 payment amounted to an illegal campaign contribution. The White House has denied that Trump had *** with Daniels. Avenatti has said he would need no more than two hours each to question Trump and Cohen. Daniels on Monday added Cohen as a defendant in her lawsuit, claiming that he defamed her by suggesting she was a liar. Cohen has said Daniels made defamatory statements about him in an interview broadcast on Sunday on CBS News? 60 Minutes. The White House has also said that Trump has denied having what former Playboy model Karen McDougal has described as a 10-month affair with him, also starting in 2006.
  15. Benjamin Netanyahu. Photo: File JERUSALEM: Israeli police questioned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday over his alleged dealings with the country?s largest telecommunication company, Israel Radio said, in one of three corruption cases weighing on the leader?s political future. It was the second time the prime minister had been questioned in the investigation. He is suspected of awarding regulatory favours to Bezeq Telecom Israel in return for favorable coverage on a news site the company?s owner controls. Netanyahu has denied any wrongdoing and says he is the victim of a witch hunt. Israeli media said Netanyahu?s wife and son would be questioned separately in the telecoms investigation over their relationship with Bezeq?s owner and his spouse. Video footage showed a police car pulling into the driveway of the prime minister?s official residence in Jerusalem. A police spokesman and a lawyer for the Netanyahu family declined comment. Bezeq has denied wrongdoing. Police have yet to make a recommendation about charges in the case. Two former Netanyahu confidants have agreed to turn state?s witness in the case. One is Shlomo Filber, the former director general of the Communications Ministry; the other is Nir Hefetz, a former spokesman of Netanyahu. In the two other cases in which police have already recommended that Netanyahu be charged with bribery, the final decision about whether to prosecute rests with the Israeli attorney general. That decision could be months away. In the first investigation, known as Case 1000, he is suspected of bribery over gifts from wealthy businessmen, which police say were worth nearly $300,000. The other, Case 2000, involves an alleged plot to win positive coverage in Israel?s biggest newspaper by offering to take measures to curtail the circulation of a rival daily. So far, partners in Netanyahu?s governing coalition have stood by him, saying they are awaiting the attorney general?s next moves. Political analysts say such support may erode if the investigations against Netanyahu intensify. Netanyahu could also call a snap election to try to stall legal proceedings during the campaign and rally his right-wing power base behind him. Recent polls show Netanyahu?s Likud ahead of other factions in the Knesset. However, surveys also show that about half of Israelis believe the police over Netanyahu and think he should step down. A third think he should remain in office.
  16. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi speaking to Geo News. Photo: Geo News ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Friday that Nawaz Sharif is the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the question about Maryam Nawaz?s leadership has not yet surfaced as she doesn?t hold any party position and is nor an elected member. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Geo News, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan should express his opinion in party meetings rather than expressing them in public. He said that the PML-N will win the next general elections on the basis of its performance and narrative. The prime minister said that the entire Pakistan now accepts that only Punjab government is successful among all the provinces, as the rest three are not able to give desired performance. PM Abbasi said that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is the party?s provincial president but the leader who the masses recognise is Nawaz Sharif. Responding to a question, the prime minister said, ?This is my seventh month as premier, and Nawaz Sharif has never telephoned me up till now [to instruct me] to do this or not do the other." He added that there was only one red-line for his government and that was the Constitution of Pakistan. Reacting on the criticism of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan, he said: ?I don?t have any acquaintance with him, he didn?t even come in assembly to vote. I am not concerned on his opinion.? PM Abbasi said that he is always ready to debate with Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid. ?I have asked him several times to come debate with me in person,? he said. ?I have never desired to become prime minister. I was not a candidate for the prime minister office, neither I am right now,? he said. ?I have been with the party in its good and bad time. I have never seen those who change parties to become successful.? He said that not a single party can bring any amendment to the constitution even if its in a majority, adding that 18th amendment was passed with consensus, now it should be implemented in its spirit. ?The provinces now have to show performance, if the parties running the provincial government doesn?t they will fail in the coming times.?
  17. PESHAWAR: The question over Billion Tree Tsunami project raised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MPA Sobia Shahid has been added to the assembly agenda for Friday. According to documents, Shahid had sought details from the KP government over trees planted under the project, to which the latter had responded. The answers state that the KP government has ? since 2014 ? planted 8.42 million trees in Kohat Division, 11.6 million in DI Khan Division, 0.46 in Tank district, more than 111.8 million in Malakand division and 82.8 in Hazara Division. The Billion Tree Tsunami has been under the limelight with questions being raised on the veracity of claims made by the KP government. Recently, official documents of the KP government failed to correspond with the claims made by the PTI chief regarding the Rs12.5 billion project. According to the documents, around 65% (759 million) of the 1.18 billion count was actually counted under the head of ?natural growth? of new plants in forests and other areas. A total of 153 million, 13%, of the plants were distributed free of cost to the public, with no precise knowledge of their fate. Resolution submitted in KP Assembly seeking inquiry into ?Billion Tree Tsunami? The resolution challenges claims by PTI chief Imran Khan that 1.12 billion trees have been planted during the forestry drive The documents also called into question financial transparency of the project, validating fears raised by the opposition parties and other quarters in the province regarding alleged misappropriation of funds by local influential and government favourites owing to the massive scale of the project and the inability to directly monitor it other than relying on lower staff of the KP forests department. On Wednesday, KP MPA and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) renegade Ziaullah Afridi submitted in the KP assembly secretariat against the project. It urges an enquiry by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) into alleged financial irregularities in the project, and also calls for punishment for those involved in the alleged scandal. PTI Chairperson Imran Khan claimed that 1.12 billion trees were planted under the mega project, whereas official government documents reveal that only 20%, or about 240 million trees, were actually planted, the resolution states. In August last year, an investigation within the government departments revealed that 145 officers of the KP forest division were found involved in corruption. Legal action was taken against those 145 officers, whereas 44 officials were forcefully retired due to misappropriation of funds and other reasons regarding the project. The Billion Tree Tsunami project aims to turn around deforestation and increase the province?s forested area by at least 2%. About 40% of the country?s remaining forests are in KP province.
  18. Pretty sure the title of this story got you hooked for obvious reasons. What is photography if you don't have the eyes to see what you are capturing? Enter Pranav Lal, who is here to prove it to you that photography is much more than just capturing what you see. Pranav suffered from Retinopathy of Prematurity at birth which resulted in him being completely blind ever since. However, this didn't stop the man from pursuing all that he was about passionate about. © YouTube The child in him was always fascinated with science and technology and so, working in a related field came naturally to him. With his determination and immense knowledge, he went on to become a professional cyber security analyst. However, that wasn't enough to push his creative and visual boundaries and so he decided to take up photography. Obviously, it didn't come easy to him until 2001 when he discovered a technology that changed his life for good. He found 'vOICe'. © YouTube 'vOICe' works as an artificial eye, and helps visually impaired people with navigation. The software converts the sights around you to sound and the image gets broken down to three attributes- panning the sound from left to right tells you the placement of objects in the horizontal plane, the higher the pitch of the sound, the higher is the object and the volume of the sound represents the amount of brightness. The person listens to these sounds through specially designed bone conduction headphones, and then uses a second camera to click photos. © YouTube But it isn't just for photography that Lal uses vOICe. He uses it for everything from navigation to designing web pages. However the software cannot recognise facial features yet, so Pranav focuses on capturing landscapes, nature, buildings, and machinery and we have to say, his photographs are truly beautiful. © Techesoterica © Techesoterica © Techesoterica Apart from photography, he also loves to travel and has journeyed extensively in India, including trekking to the Himalayas. © Techesoterica He also is a regular blogger and can be followed on his blog, www.techesoterica.com (http://techesoterica.com) which focuses on sensory substitution. The world has recognized his talent and he has been invited to speak at different events including a TED talk. You can listen to his story in his own words here: Constant support from his parents and new-age technology were exactly what Pranav needed to pursue his passion, and to prove to the world that if you are bent upon doing something, you will eventually find a way.
  19. 2018 wasn't exactly off to a good start for UIDAI. With 'The Tribune' exposing a major security breach in the protection of our Aadhaar details followed by an FIR by UIDAI against the newspaper, the authority was in the news for all the wrong reasons, attracting major backlash from across the country. While UIDAI dismissed The Tribune story as a case of misreporting, they still had a lot to answer for. Tribune's Story “Rs 500, 10 minutes, and you have access to billion Aadhaar details” is a case of misreporting. No biometric data breach @thetribunechd @rsprasad @ceo_uidai @timesofindia @firstpost @IndiaToday @ZeeNews — Aadhaar (@UIDAI) January 4, 2018 And now, they have started working towards pacifying the citizens with a new feature. In addition to the fingerprint and the iris scan, UIDAI has now introduced face recognition as a new method of Aadhaar authentication. Dr Ajay Bhushan Pandey, CEO-UIDAI took to Twitter to make the announcement. @UIDAI introduces yet another landmark technology for authentication - Face Authentication. #AadhaarFaceAuth will help all elderly or others facing issues with fingerprint authentication. Service to be launched by 1 July 2018. — CEO UIDAI (@ceo_uidai) January 15, 2018 This new feature which will be launched by July 1, 2018, has been developed mainly to help the elderly and others who are facing issues with fingerprint and iris scan. While the motive behind this step sounds excellent, everyone is now concerned about its successful implementation. And Twitter has a lot to ask and say on this (as always). 1. 20. US President Donald Trump/File photo US President Donald Trump will undergo a formal health check on Friday amid speculation about his mental and physical suitability for the presidency. The White House has stated that the physician, Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson will issue a public report on the exam, scheduled for January 12 at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. However, like all Americans, Trump has the right under federal law to keep health information from public disclosure. The physical test will last around two hours and include blood and urine tests, heart checks and even questions about his sleeping habits and other idiosyncrasies. A psychiatric exam would not be a part of Trump?s physical, White House spokesperson Hogan Gidley told reporters earlier this week. The White House announced last month Trump?s plan to have a physical after he slurred words during a speech declaring US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at the time that Trump was simply thirsty and dismissed questions about his health as ?ridiculous.? Trump is open about his unhealthy eating habits, posting a photo of himself aboard his campaign plane with a bucket of fried chicken, bragging about the chocolate cake at his Mar-a-Lago resort, and drinking Diet Coke around the West Wing. Earlier this month, the president praised himself as "not smart, but genius... and a very stable genius at that," following the release of a bombshell new book that called into doubt his mental health. Trump: I am a 'very stable genius' and 'like, very smart' The book 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House' quickly sold out in shops in Washington The White House has been pushing back forcefully against a new supposed tell-all book - Michael Wolff´s "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" - which was rushed into bookstores after the Trump administration failed to suppress it. The book quickly sold out in shops in Washington. Trump has decried the instant best-seller as "phony" and "full of lies."
  21. I once had a friend who practiced professional classical dancing for almost 12 years but then due to some unavoidable reason, she could not carry forward. At that young age, she had travelled all across India and the US for her performances but then she dropped it abruptly. With time, she slowly started feeling like she has lost her gift and now the chance to be extraordinary is gone and buried under the weight of familial responsibilities. I had another friend who wanted to be a scriptwriter and a filmmaker but could never find the courage to change his field because of his well-paying job. Today, he regrets it and the pain of not taking that step when the iron was hot still haunts him immeasurably. © fb/sungazing What you read above are some of the lifelong regrets that normal people might have to live with. There could be other things as well that are stopping you from taking that first step towards your dreams. It could be moving to a new place, starting a new business, moving out from an unhealthy relationship etc. Although, being uncomfortable comes with hope for improvement. Here is what Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon did when he first thought of selling books online in 1994 and pitched the idea to his then boss. © AZ quotes His boss said, "I think this is a good idea, but I think this would be an even better idea for somebody that didn't already have a good job." Jeff asked himself what his heart said. And, for him, the best way to think about it was to project himself forward to the age of 80 and say, "Look, when I'm 80 years old, I want to have minimized the number of regrets that I have." I don't want to be 80 years old and in a quiet moment of reflection, thinking back over my life, and cataloguing a bunch of major regrets." He says, in most cases, “our biggest regrets turn out to be acts of omission and that's a useful metric for any important life decision. This is what you got to do. If you are afraid to move away from your family, then for the sake of your dream you need to move. You will get people like you to hang out with and it will be a better tomorrow for you and your family. Move into the uncomfortable and then do not regret. It will all start making sense and you will start enjoying life in a much richer sense.” So, will you be regretting your choices when you're in your 80's?
  22. Everybody loves a good yarn! Here we talk about the deepest, unsolved and the most twisted conspiracy theories revolving around the lives of some of the most popular world leaders of all time. These theories have given birth to dialogues, analysis, and controversies which have not only shook the faith people kept in their harbingers, in fact, paved way to rational questioning for journalists and investigators. Leaders of the modern era, despite being at the pinnacle of their prevalence, have gone through the cult of critique. Right from the former US President Barack Obama to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, conspiracies spared none! It is also been deemed that many such conspiracies changed the way people viewed the truth. But, the truth, only exists like an unsolved puzzle before us. Here are some of the most discussed conspiracy theories about the greatest world leaders. 1. Barack Obama © usweeklu The 'birther' theory about former U.S. President Barack Obama keeps circulating on the web every now and then, thanks to President Donald Trump, who has clung to the issue so far. The theory revolves around the fact that former American President Barack Obama was born somewhere in Kenya and not in the United States. Long ago, Obama released short-form and long-form birth certificates proving he was born in Hawaii. As per a report published in Newsweek sometime back, a survey concluded that almost more than 50 percent Republicans voted in favor of Obama being born in Kenya. However, there have been no proofs of it yet. 2. Justin Trudeau © imgur Justin Trudeau has always been known for his humble, sympathetic and cordial nature. The Canadian Prime Minister is a hero to the residents of Canada. But not even his biggest of fans know that he had been associated with the fallen (now dead) dictator of Cuba, Fidel Castro. Many times he has been accused of having family ties with the former Cuban leader. This first came to light when Justin shared some warm words about strongman Castro and praised him as a 'remarkable leader', at the time of Castro's death. During his speech, Trudeau exclaimed that his death has caused him 'deep sorrow'. Trudeau's statement received backlash and his praise was termed as 'repugnant'. Though both had an uncanny resemblance, the theory was clarified by the fact that Justin was born December 25, 1971, nine months after Pierre and Margaret's (Justin's parents) honeymoon in British Columbia and long before the couple traveled to Cuba, and met Fidel Castro. Dang! 3. Princess Diana © popsugar The world almost came to a standstill when the news broke out about the tragic death of the Princess of Wales. On the night of 31 August 1997, Princess Diana lost her life in a fatal car accident in Paris. Her death sent shockwaves particularly in Great Britain and the entire incident was not being considered as something normal. Instead, people had a strong belief that Diana was killed. The British Royal family received strong criticism and it was in the air that Diana's death was the result of some kind of conspiracy, conducted secretly by agents of the British state. Diana had been in a car whose driver was drunk and it was seen as no less than a plot to murder. People believed that someone wanted to kill Diana and the series of events were arranged. Operation Paget was launched in order to investigate the details surrounding the case. After an expenditure of millions of pounds and years of research, it was found that the death was a doomed incident. 4. Melania Trump © hercampus There is an outlandish conspiracy theory revolving around the first lady of the US, Melania Trump. Last year, a comedienne and actress named Andrea Warton shared a Facebook post where she explained how a 'body double' replaced Melania Trump, who was being referred to as “my wife” by President Donald Trump. Andrea also shared pictures of the incident which later got widely circulated on the net. However, the genesis of this conspiracy isn't exactly clear yet. 5. Vladimir Putin © washington examiner Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a man of many mysteries. Once referred to as the killer, kleptocrat, genius, spy by The Guardian, it is believed that the world still needs to know much about this ubiquitous leader. As per theorists, Putin is immortal. This theory emerged from the fact after a picture of a Russian soldier which was taken in the 1920s, had a spooky resemblance to Putin's present-day pictures. Till date there has been no evidence about Putin being a killer, theorists believe that he has recurrently ordered the assassination of journalists and leading political opponents. During the uprise of Trump, when the current President of the United States was accosted by Fox's Bill O'Reilly, where Bill exclaimed, “Putin's a killer”, Trump notoriously replied, “There are a lot of killers. We've got a lot of killers. What do you think? Our country's so innocent?” Thinkers have also believed that Putin is the butcher of Chechnya, the killer of Litvinenko, and the invader of Georgia. 6. Pope Francis © cruxnow The theories about Pope Francis can make you laugh and wonder at the same time. Philosophers have time and again written about the 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church. According to Irish Saint Malachy, the 12th-century bishop of Armagh, Pope Francis could be the last one and in his existence, Rome will fall like a house of cards! Other theories claim that Pope's eyes glow red in dark, which means he carries the power to demolish the Church. Certainly, no one would ever believe that. 7. Kim Jong Un © wired Not much is known about the exact circumstances of the birth of this supreme North Korean leader who claims to have a nuclear bomb's button at his table. Theorists believe that Kim Jong was the one involved in the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, while the flight was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Explaining another theory the New Yorker once wrote that Kim executed his uncle and also ordered the murder of his half-brother. The theory is often termed as the 'madman theory' by journalists and others. 8. Indira Gandhi © india There have been theories about Indira Gandhi's love life, which later became a matter of political scrutiny. It is believed that Gandhi got close to many renowned men in her life. Her first affair was alleged with her German teacher, at Shantiniketan. Reportedly, she also got involved with her father's close secretary. The patrician lady also allegedly found her love interest in Dr, Dinesh Singh who was then a minister in her cabinet. 9. Mother Teresa © famousbiographies Years back a paper (in French) for the journal Studies in Religion carried out some controversial information on Mother Teresa who is otherwise known to be a saint. The paper claimed that Mother Teresa was politically credulous and at times maintained friendly relations with tyrants like Jean-Claude Duvalier and Enver Hoxha. Theorists also assert that the medical care provided by her missionaries of charity was based on the cult of suffering. 10. Queen Elizabeth © mirroruk British Humdinger has a very different view of Queen Elizabeth's long existence. Now you can think what you want, but as per a report, human remains have been discovered inside Queen Elizabeth's private freezer, which brings us to a conclusion that she may be a 'cannibal'.
  23. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sincan district, Ankara, Turkey. August 14, 2017. AFP/Adem Altan/Files PARIS: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday lashed out at a French reporter who asked him about claims that Ankara sent arms to Syria. Erdogan told the journalist he was talking like a member of an outlawed group blamed for last year´s failed coup in Turkey. At a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron after their talks in Paris, the reporter asked the Turkish leader about a story from 2015 in the Cumhuriyet newspaper which allegedly proved Turkey had sent weapons to Syria. Erdogan has always pinned the scandal on the exiled US-based preacher Fethullah Gulen. Turkey blames Gulen for the 2016 failed coup and accuses him of running a group called the Fethullah Terror Organisation (FETO). Gulen denies the charges. "Those are the words of FETO. You should learn not to speak with the words of FETO," Erdogan told the journalist after asking him to repeat the question. The journalist could be heard insisting in French: "I am speaking as a journalist!" "When you ask your questions, be careful on this point. And do not speak with the words of another," warned the Turkish leader. "And I want you to know, you do not have someone before you who will easily swallow this," Erdogan added. The issue had first erupted in January 2014 when prosecutors in southern Turkey uncovered trucks heading to Syria that they said were National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) vehicles stuffed with arms. Ankara later charged those involved in the probe with the membership of the Gulen movement. "Those who carried out those operations were Gulenist prosecutors. Now they are in prison," said Erdogan icily. In an apparent reference to American arms supplies to Syrian Kurdish militia that have angered Turkey, he added, "You ask me that question but why don´t you ask me why the United States sent 4,000 trucks with arms to Syria?" "You are a journalist, right? You should have looked into that as well." Without confirming the incident, Erdogan said that the MIT had "every right" to carry out its operations. ´Terror has gardeners´ Earlier the Turkish president had said terror was not formed by itself. "Terror and terrorists have gardeners. These gardeners are those seen as ´thinkers´. He said "these people" nurture terror with newspaper columns "and one day, you will find, these people will be revealed as terrorists." Erdogan´s trip to Paris to meet Macron was his most important bilateral visit to an EU state since the failed putsch. It was overshadowed by questions about press freedom. The P24 press freedom group says there are 151 journalists behind bars in Turkey, most of whom were arrested under the state of emergency in place since July 2016. The issue was raised at the talks, with Macron telling Erdogan to "respect the rule of law". The Cumhuriyet story resulted in its then editor-in-chief Can Dundar being handed a five-year and 10-month jail term for divulging state secrets. He later fled Turkey.
  24. US President Donald Trump (L) and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un. Image: Reuters/Files WASHINGTON: Two senior Democratic senators asked the country's intelligence chief Thursday to assess the national security risks of President Donald Trump's tweets on North Korea. Senators Martin Heinrich and Ron Wyden asked the Director of National Intelligence, Daniel Coats, to "assess the risk to the United States and to US interests and personnel" arising from a tweet Trump posted on January 2. In that tweet, Trump made a veiled threat to North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, who, a day earlier, opened the New Year with his own defiant statement calling to speed up the deployment of nuclear weapons. "North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the 'Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.' Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!" Trump wrote. Heinrich and Wyden, both members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said they would like the intelligence community to assess the impact of Trump's tweets on Washington's credibility. US nuclear button 'much bigger' than N Korea's: Trump Trump's message came after Kim used his annual New Year address to warn he has a 'nuclear button' on his table "We request that the assessment address the likely North Korean response to the President's January 2 tweet and the President's other threatening tweets and statements and whether this rhetoric serves as a deterrent or a provocation." Kim's New Year statement extended an olive branch to Seoul, which in the subsequent days led to a renewal of direct contacts, reopening a cross-border hotline and a proposal to hold bilateral talks on January 9. On Thursday Trump turned to Twitter again to claim credit. "With all of the failed 'experts' weighing in, does anybody really believe that talks and dialogue would be going on between North and South Korea right now if I wasn't firm, strong and willing to commit our total 'might' against the North. Fools, but talks are a good thing!"
  25. When two people who are representing the country internationally meet, everyone will obviously talk about it. On one hand, we have Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper who made his international debut almost a decade ago, and has been nothing but consistent with his ability to score. The Indian team captain has been breaking records all throughout his career, and when it comes to having the most centuries in ODIs, he is only behind the living legend Sachin Tendulkar. And then we have Manushi Chhillar, who made the whole country proud by bringing home the Miss World crown after 17 long years. When both of these icons met at an event recently, Manushi had a very important question for the Indian captain. © Twitter While attending the CNN-News18 Indian of the Year 2017 Awards, the recently crowned Miss World took the opportunity to ask Kohli how he continues to inspire everyone. She questioned, “You are one of the best batsmen in the world today and you've been such an inspiration. You've really given back to the society. But there are a lot of young people who draw inspiration from you. How would you like to give back for children, especially in the world of cricket?” #IndianOfTheYear - Miss World 2017 @ManushiChhillar had a question for team India skipper @imVkohli Watch the event here - https://t.co/Nr4TFMc7XT and Jio TV | #IndianOfTheYear @reliancejio @JioChat pic.twitter.com/p1W5ce8W9E — News18 (@CNNnews18) November 30, 2017 As expected, he gave a brilliant reply. He said, “Well, what's very important to understand is when you do what you do and you express yourself on the field, it has to be genuine and it has to be from the heart. Otherwise if people find out that you're trying to pretend, then they can never connect to you. I've never tried to be anyone else. I've always been myself; I always mention that people had a lot of issues with how I was, how I conducted myself, but I had never had any problems with that.” © Twitter He continued, “The moment I started to think that I need to change, is the only time I changed. Everyone has to go through a mutual process to be where they get to in life to become more mature. What's very important to understand is one should never lose their own identity, character and personality because if you try to be someone else you can never succeed, and you can never inspire others.” “The one thing that I believe in is that there's something much stronger that's making us do what we do. We ourselves don't have the ability to go out there, score runs and take wickets all the time. We must believe that everyone has a plan and that plan has been executed for them at the time they are in, and all they can do is work hard, no one can change the plan, what we can do is work hard and be honest with ourselves.” © Twitter Whether it is on or off the field, he always knows what to do and say, and it's no wonder he is a huge inspiration for the youth of the country. Virat Kohli also went on to present the 'Indian of the Year- Individual Special Achievement' to Manushi Chhillar, and it seems like the pictures of them together are the only thing people can talk about right now.
