  1. Back in the 90s, we all have watched the Ramayan on TV screens and now thanks to the lockdown, the old days are back as itâs being telecast again on Doordarshan. It has become a hot topic for discussion for people on social media as they are busy sharing their snippet of nostalgia or making memes on it. Thanks to Doordarshanâs Ramayan, people are now also interested in the Bollywood version of Ramayana that would be directed by Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari . In an interview, the director had said he wanted to be prepared with the film's concept before he even decides the star cast. Ramayana is expected to go on floors next year and release in 2021. But let us tell Nitesh, people have already started suggesting their dream cast for the Bollywood version of Ramayana. For the role of Lord Rama, they are suggesting names like Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan or Ranbir Kapoor. Well, for Sitaâs role, the names being popped up are of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. Take a look at the recommendations by people here: Ramayana CAST: Shree Ram- #HrithikRoshan Sita- #AishwaryaRai Hanuman- #Akshay kumar Ravana- #sunil shetty Dashrath- #AmitabhBachchan Lakshman-#Ranbirkapoor Bharat - # Ranbir singh Shatrugan- #raj kumar rao Surphanka- # Tapsi pannu Kumbkaran- #sanjaydutt https://t.co/dRSvdFWzv9 â Binay kumar (@binaykumar1412) April 5, 2020This started on watts app. Pls ð»everyone participate Send in Ur cast of Ramayana. Meanwhile, he is currently in the process of developing Ramayana, which will be a trilogy. He told, on the sidelines of Indian Film Project conference, âIt's a massive responsibility, so we will behave in the most responsible manner, you know, yes, there are a lot of sentiments which are involved around Ramayana and all the sentiments should be will be kept in mind." He added, "The only pressure I would like to take is the kind of expectations people have of me and to be able to live up to those expectations. Box office numbers are not in my mind." Considering how people are invested in Ramayana, it will be challenging for the director. Are you excited for the Bollywood version of Ramayana? Let us know in the comments section below. 2. What are the only two things everyone has been saying these past few days? Wash your hands and avoid crowded places. And honestly, it's simple enough and the least people can do during this pandemic. Self-isolation and social distancing is becoming the norm throughout the world but of course, Indians have something else in mind. Right now, the condition in India is still controlled to an extent and we need to keep it that way because just looking at the huge amount of people in this country, the death toll due to coronavirus if it spreads like it did in China and Italy would be devastating. © Reuters But, apparently UP government really doesn't care about people since they're still going ahead with the Ram Navami Mela in Ayodhya which is going to be held from March 25 to April 2. The mela every year attracts a huge number of devotees but it seems like this year, it's even more special to people since the Supreme Court verdict gave the disputed land for the construction of Ram Mandir. Reportedly, the chief medical officer of Ayodhya, Ghanshyam Singh, expressed concerns about the event and said, "We simply do not have the necessary resources to screen such a large number of people." © Reuters However, the district administration claims that the CMO never made such comments and they have made "all the necessary arrangements." Mahant Paramhans, an Ayodhya based saint, said, "It can not be stopped...it will hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus....and this year it is more important...for the first time Lord Rama is free." He added, "Ramji will make sure that no harm comes to the devotees." Of course, everyone should be free to practise their religion however they want, but during the time of a pandemic, ten lakh people should not be gathered together at one place. The entire Covid-19 situation will quickly get out of hand in India if the mela goes on as planned. © Reuters People online are obviously angry about how the well-being of the entire population is being compromised for one mela. Absolutely nothing. More than 1 million people from all over the country will be in this mela between March 25 - April 2 What could go wrong? https://t.co/y4PgSfB6Bg â Dhruv Rathee (@dhruv_rathee) March 18, 2020 Hmm. When bigots and idiots come together it becomes suicidal! https://t.co/PsJGxf6acF @deccanherald â Ashok Swain (@ashoswai) March 17, 2020 Hmm part two. Why is nobody shouting about Ram Navami Mela in Ayodhya. Shaheen bagh with many fewer people is being portrayed as a public health threat but hindu pilgrims infecting the whole country is a great idea!! â N S (@nandinisundar) March 18, 2020 Ouch. Cults usually indulge in mass self-harm in their final days. https://t.co/UdB1lpaoSs â Sasidharan Pazhoor (@inquestioner) March 18, 2020 It needs to get cancelled. Ayodhya to hold Ram Navami mela despite #COVID19 fears This, if true, is criminally irresponsible of @myogiadityanath. So, large gatherings have been banned in UP but Ram Navami Mela in #Ayodhya is on schedule from 25 March. Over 10 lakh pilgrims expected to attend. Adityanath govt must cancel this. Surely, Lord Ram would also think of people's safety first. #COVID19Indiahttps://t.co/9fC92m2Y6O â Ruchira Chaturvedi (@RuchiraC) March 18, 2020 Yes please. Ram Navmi is coming, and Lakhs of people would want to go to Ayodhya as this Ram Navmi is a little special. 3. "How much RAM is too much RAM?" Okay, that's probably not something everybody would search on Google, but PC and specs nerds like me have done it at least once. I mean, that's really a crucial question, especially in a world where even smartphones have up to 16GB RAM. Anyway, did you know that you can buy Apple's Mac Pro with up to 1.5TB of RAM? Yes, it's 1.5TB of RAM. That's way more than the storage capacity of most people's systems these days. That's exactly the kind of monster that Apple has built here. © YouTube/ Jonathan Morrison So what would you do if you have 1.5TB of RAM in your system? Well, for starters, how about opening 6,000 tabs in Google Chrome? At least that's what this YouTube creator did. YouTuber Jonathan Morrison wanted to see what it would take to max out his Mac Pro with 1.5TB of RAM. So he did the most obvious thing that anyone in their right minds would do. He wrote an automated script to run a bunch of websites on a loop. The end result is a fully decked out Google Chrome with 6,000 tabs. First of all, I am even surprised that Google Chrome can handle that without crashing on when you get past the 100 Chrome tabs. But spoiler alert, both the Mac Pro and Google Chrome handled the task very well before giving up. I'd say you can easily open about 5,000 tabs in Google Chrome without any issues. But anything above that, you're treading on dangerous grounds. © YouTube/ Jonathan Morrison Now, you're probably wondering how much it would cost to fit 1.5TB RAM in a Mac Pro. After all, even the base model of Mac Pro will trigger kidney jokes here in India. But don't worry. As long as you're not asking Apple to do it, you'll be spending less. You'll have to go for a third-party option like Morrison did. That being said, it could still be very expensive. View the full article
  4. Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar welcomed 2020 with an extraordinary video of a little boy named Madda Ram. A boy who has unbounded love for the game of cricket and is willing to take the most difficult of ways to stay in touch with that inner passion of his. But what sets Madda Ram apart from the millions of cricket fanatics in the country is the fact that he is differently-abled and can't walk or stand on his feet. But when you look at him bat at the crease, it simply astounds you as to how he doesn't let his problems come in the way of playing the sport he loves so much. Start your 2020 with the inspirational video of this kid Madda Ram playing cricket ðwith his friends. It warmed my heart and I am sure it will warm yours too. pic.twitter.com/Wgwh1kLegS — Sachin Tendulkar (@sachin_rt) January 1, 2020 “Start your 2020 with the inspirational video of this kid Madda Ram playing cricket with his friends,” Tendulkar tweeted. “It warmed my heart and I am sure it will warm yours too.” In the video, Ram can be seen standing on his knees as he waits for his friend to bowl. As soon as he connects with the ball, the boy quickly crawls across the pitch to complete his run. After his single, he crawls halfway across the pitch again to give his partner the bat and then returns to his end. Even since the Indian master blaster shared this video, Madda Ram has become an instant hit and a figure of inspiration for scores of people: I seen him as a soldier, how loves and passionate on this game.. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year, Master Blaster! — Anushtup (@Anushtup2K) January 1, 2020 Never seen anything like this,oh!God,So beautiful, other boyes r good to play with him,@Sachin-rt — Swapan Kumar Saha (@SwapanK80261297) January 1, 2020 Amazing..!! Kudos to that brave kid.. — Bittu kumar (@Bittu11990) January 1, 2020 This short 55-second video shows how people like Madda Ram, who have problems that are so much bigger than us, the “normal” kind, are living the best life that they can. Everything is more difficult for them by default and he knows that but despite all of that, he is just another kid doing what he loves. And kudos to his friends for letting him be and not behaving any differently with him just because of his physical problems. One of the kids could have become his runner. His partner could have walked across the pitch to get the bat. But the fact that they did not do any of that is probably what makes Ram feel like a regular cricket-loving kid. View the full article
  5. Apple's current-generation iPhones, as we already know, are extremely powerful. When it comes to the performance, there's hardly anything out there that's as powerful as the new iPhones. There are a ton of benchmarks out there to prove the same. And if the new report is something to go by, then it looks like, the next set of iPhones will be more powerful. The report by MacRumors suggests that the iPhone 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max will offer up to 6GB RAM. That's right, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max both are likely to have 6GB RAM, up from 4GB in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. © Apple Apple is one of the very few companies that has managed to nail OS optimisation. The iPhones work so well with iOS that RAM has never really been an issue. While Android phones have been carrying 6GB and 8GB RAM for a long time now, the 3GB RAM on the iPhone X has been a bottleneck. iPhones have great memory management and we expect them to remain the same, if not get better over time. Now that we're hearing rumours about the next iPhones having up to 6GB of RAM, we think it'll only make them more powerful. Although we don't have an official confirmation yet, we're expecting the RAM to be faster too. That way, the phones won't slow down over an extended period of time since it won't be a bottleneck, to begin with. In addition to that, the new iPhones are also expected to feature rear-facing 3D sensing and mmWave support for higher-performance 5G. And as far as the base model iPhone 12 is concerned, it's said to have 4GB of RAM. © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee Lastly, the report also says that the iPhone SE2 is still in the pipeline and its production is set to begin in February, 2020. All these information come from a reliable source, but we won't know anything for sure until we get any sort of confirmation directly from Apple. View the full article
  6. Faith and religion tend to be such sensitive topics these days, that most of us would rather talk about the smog and Kejriwal instead. You never know who's snooping, who might get offended or worse, when you might get cornered by religious fanatics out of nowhere. While terms such as 'intolerance' and 'sickular-ism' are thrown around, and the disconnect between Left and Right continues to grow wider, every good instance of unity and brotherhood needs to be shared every chance we get. © Twitter/ANI Just like the news that Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board Chairman Wasim Rizvi donated Rs 51,000 for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. This gesture of fraternity, which comes just days after the historic Ayodhya verdict, is being hailed by people on social media. 7. In a historic verdict, the Supreme Court announced on November 9 that the disputed land in Ayodhya will be used for the construction of a Ram temple. They further announced that a five-acre land in the area will be given to the Muslim community for the construction of a mosque. In fact, everyone around the world was talking about it because #AyodhyaVerdict was a top trend not just in India but across the world. Not just Ayodhya Verdict, but the hashtag #HinduMuslimBhaiBhai was also trending on Twitter with people sharing messages of peace, love and communal and religious harmony. © Twitter In a moving gesture, now 21 organisations representing indigenous Assamese Muslims have decided that they will donate Rs 5 lakh to the trust that is responsible for the construction of Ram Mandir. According to the Times Of India, the organisations under JSPA (Jonogusthiya Somonnoy Parishad Asom) said that this 'decision is an expression of solidarity of the indigenous Muslims with the country's unity and the "cherished aspiration" of the Hindus to see the temple constructed in Ayodhya'. JSPA chairman Syed Muminul Aowal, said "We are happy that the protracted dispute has been resolved through historic judgement of the Supreme Court. We will donate Rs 5 lakh because we also want to be part of this historic decision that will further strengthen the spirit of unity and harmony in the country." © Reuters In fact, a Muslim students' body from Assam will donate Rs 1 lakh for the consrtuction of the temple at Ayodhya. Reportedly, this announcement was made by the All Assam Goriya Moriya Yuva Chatra Parishad, who said in a statement, "We welcome the Supreme Court's historic verdict. We urge everyone to accept the verdict and maintain peace and harmony. Our organization will provide Rs 1 lakh for the construction of the Ram Temple." View the full article
  8. Remember Payal Rohatgi, the social media sensation? Well, I hope you detected the sarcasm in that very statement. But why am I talking about her? That's because she's back again, to indulge in some mindless banter, to irk the proletariats in the worst way possible. It's just her visible affinity to waste time over Twitter and other forms of social media, and this time around, she's outdone herself again. © Twitter Recently, over a Tweet, the 'damsel in distress' spoke about the age-old practice of Sati and called Raja Ram Mohan Roy a traitor. And now, she demands a so-called 'Hindu' nation. Twitter is, of course, furious over her lopsided thought process, but we can't help and substantiate a good amount of humour through her thread. Truth Behind Sati Pratha in India https://t.co/x1vn5l6Xcy via @YouTube #Jauhar was an incident related to Padmavati during Mughal Khiljis invasion. But after Payal tweeted a video on the Sati tradition named 'the truth behind Sati Pratha', she called Ram Mohan Roy a traitor , saying "#Jauhar was an incident related to Padmavati [movie] during Mughal Khiljis invasion. While secularism is the right way to embrace our nation's ideology, we do have people amidst us who scorn it on a mere whim, failing to understand the concept of a secular democracy.
  9. Our society may be divided into many cultures and people who follow different religions, but the common thread lies in the belief that humanity is the biggest religion. The holy month of Ramzan is going on right now and setting a beautiful example of communal harmony, the Shri Sita Ram temple in Ayodhya hosted an Iftar feast proving that the world is a better place when we have love in our heart. Also, this is not the first time this happened, and the priest of the temple explained that they plan on continuing this tradition in the future as well. 10. A couple of decades ago, Limba Ram was the personification of focus and unshaken resolve. His dedication and the will to make his country proud even led him to represent the nation thrice in the Olympics and a 30-m World Record shared with Japan's Takayoshi Matsushita with a score of 357/360 that got him the gold medal at the Beijing Asian Archery Championships, 1992. He was even conferred with the Padma Shri in 2012 by former president Pratibha Patil. © PIB Today, he has lost the ability to keep his hands steady and the cognitive ability to join two sentences together with a hollow stare and a confused look on his face. At the age of 46, Ram is suffering from a neurodegenerative disorder called Parkinson's disease, which impacts the cells present deep inside a human brain that are majorly responsible for transferring messages to the rest of the body for movement purposes. The athlete, who almost won the bronze medal for India back in 1992 currently lies in a six-bed general ward of All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) without the funds to limit the spreading of the disease that only gets worse with time leading to the eventual loss of all motor functions and a bedridden living. "The doctors say his illness is not curable but is very much controllable. All my husband needs is good medical treatment which he is getting here with all doctors so supportive and sympathetic towards him. It's just that we need financial support to continue his treatment. Private hospitals in Delhi will charge a fortune, so we can't take him there,” Ram's wife, Merian Jenny said, as reported by the Times of India. The secretary of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), SS Chhabra wrote a letter to the Sports Ministry on 25th April 2019 about the deteriorating condition of the former Indian Olympians, seeking funds to be able to treat his illness in a more fruitful manner. However, the ministry has not reverted yet. While Jenny has faith in the Sports Ministry, her anger is directed towards the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC), where Limba was working before the infamous disease caught hold of him. "Medical bills of Rs 1 lakh are pending with the council and they are not giving us the money. We spent Rs 1.5 lakh on his treatment at the Sawai Man Singh hospital in Jaipur last year. We submitted the bills for reimbursement later on, but only Rs 50,000 has so far been released. It will be of great help if we get that money.”
  11. At a time when our country is said to be at its intolerant best, and communal rifts are getting wider owing to multiple concerns, right from food preferences to religious beliefs and whatnot, people like you and me continue to look for some hope, a silver lining, in an otherwise stormy grey sky. © Facebook We came across such a ray of hope in the form of a 27-year-old man from Bengaluru's Rajajinagar whose name is Saddam Hussein. And what's special about this man is that he is a living example that humanity is the biggest religion in the world and that we must serve first and foremost. At Rajajinagar's Srirama Seva Mandali, Hussein plays an important role by looking after the temple chariot and keeping it serviced throughout the year, for its annual rally across Rajajinagar on the occasion of Ramnavami. © TNIE Yes, you read that right. From helping people with shifting houses, to working at a shop and also driving a cab, he does it all with an air of confidence and a smile on his face. © Pinterest People in the area know about Hussein and when asked if they say anything, he told The New Indian Express that, “There are two kinds of people — one, who appreciate me for doing this job, the second pass comments on my work. I just greet them with a smile” Not just Hussein, but even his mother Mehaboobi also works at the temple when the need for extra workforce arises. She cleans the vessels and does other housekeeping jobs. Their dedication and sincerity, as well as the love for fellow brethren, is an inspiration for all of us. © Twitter Like Saddam Hussein, we must step forward for our fellow brothers and sisters at all times, regardless of the God we might pray to, and ensure that our society turns out to be a safe and happy place for each one of us to live and grow in.
  12. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is probably one of the fastest Android smartphones out there. It's got 10GB of RAM and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset. However, that is where the smartphone is crippled when it comes to being the fastest smartphone. Apple may have not launched an exciting smartphone this year, however, the company's new A12 Bionic Chipset and iOS 12 are fine-tuned in tandem with each other to give the best performance on a smartphone ever. © OnePlus It's no secret that a smartphone's speed depends not only on RAM but the SoC it's being powered with for optimum speed. Qualcomm's 845 chipsets simply do not have enough juice to take on Apple's proprietary chipset. That has been the story for a few years now; however, the A12 Bionic is simply unbeatable right now as it offers significantly overall improved performance while using less power. © YouTube A Youtube channel by the name of PhoneBuff set out to put the two smartphones against each other. The YouTuber pitted the two smartphones against each other to find out which smartphone is faster. The McLaren Edition of OnePlus 6T offers 10GB of RAM and is one of the first smartphones to offer this configuration in India. What's worthy to note is that the iPhone XS Max has only 4GB of RAM. © Akshay Bhalla_MensXP In the video, we can see that the OnePlus 6T was faster in initial speed tests; however the iPhone managed to beat it in the end when it came to overall performance. The video is proof that it's not only about the RAM as the iPhone XS Max managed to beat a smartphone with 10GB RAM with its measly 4GB RAM under the hood. If you don't believe us, you can watch the video for yourself below and see how the iPhone XS managed to defeat the OP6T McLaren edition.
  13. Lenovo has been out of the smartphone game for a while, especially since the company's 2018 portfolio looks less than impressive. But that all will seem to change with Lenovo's latest offering that will turn some heads in the coming months. The smartphone in question is the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT that has some stellar specifications and even a greater design. © Lenovo The first thing you will notice is the display with zero bezels. Lenovo has opted to use a similar sliding design as the Honor Magic 2 where the front-facing camera and the earpiece is hidden in the body. The selfie camera and the earpiece will slide up whenever a user requires to use it. The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT will also be one of the first few smartphones that will have Qualcomm's 855 processor under the hood. The only other smartphone to feature the new chipset is probably going to be the OnePlus 7. The Z5 Pro GT is taking the game up a notch though as it will have 12 GB of RAM. That's the most amount of RAM we've ever seen on a smartphone yet. © Lenovo At launch, the Z5 Pro GT will come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with support for Android 9.0 Pie in the near future. Lenovo's move to launch a smartphone in 2019 with Android Oreo is definitely disappointing however we don't know yet how Android 9.0 Pie performs in tandem with the Qualcomm's new chipset. In terms of display, the Z5 Pro GT has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 Full HD. The smartphone has a 3,350 mAh battery powering it which is more than enough for full day use. The primary camera at the back has a dual lens setup with a 16-megapixel primary lens and a 24-megapixel secondary lens. There are also two front-facing camera lenses i.e. a 16-megapixel primary lens coupled with an 8-megapixel infrared lens for facial recognition. The Z5 Pro GT also has an in-display fingerprint sensor that can be used as an alternative way to unlock the smartphone. © Lenovo The smartphone will available to purchase in China from January 15th with two variants. The 6GB RAM version with 128GB of internal storage will cost 2,698 yuan (Rs 27,500 Approx). The 12GB RAM variant with 512GB storage will be way costlier as it will retail for 4,398 yuan (Rs 45,000 Approx). As of now, it isn't certain whether the smartphone will see a release in India but keep a lookout for MenXP Tech for more news on the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT.
  14. Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Mi Mix 3 will have some mind-blowing specifications that nobody expected. The Chinese company teased something with a poster via Weibo, however, the company later confirmed a few details about the upcoming smartphone. The Mi Mix 3 will be among the first few smartphones that will have 5G support and will also be one of the first to feature 10GB of RAM. © Weibo We've already seen smartphones that sport 8GB of RAM which is more than enough to run Android on smartphones. 10 GB of RAM definitely feels like an overkill, but one never knows how it would work with MIUI. 5G networks seem more interesting, as this technology won't be available in every country until 2019. © Xiaomi Chipsets that support 5G connectivity are not currently available for OEM's to implement in their smartphones, which begs the question that how did Xiaomi do it. It seems like the smartphone is using an external modem, probably Qualcomm's X24 or X50 to achieve this. The two external modems are probably working in tandem with Snapdragon 845 and may cause battery drain. Pricing Details: The 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant will be priced at $510 while the Ceramic Edition will cost $660. The 6GB RAM/128GB variant will cost $555 and $705 for the Ceramic Edition. The 8GB/128GB option will be listed at $600 and $750 for the Standard and Ceramic Editions respectively. Lastly, the 8GB/256GB variant will cost $645 (Standard model) and $795 for the Ceramic Edition.
  15. We already have smartphones out there that have 8GB of RAM and it is already considered an overkill. The OnePlus 6 and the Poco F1 are two smartphones that already offer 8GB of RAM. Even Samsung followed suit with the new Galaxy Note 9 and today it seems like they've all been beaten. © Youtube - The Verge TENAA, China's regulatory bodies that certify smartphones before their eventual launch, revealed a smartphone that will have 10GB of RAM. It's not a new smartphone but rather a new variant of a smartphone that has already been launched a few months ago. The Oppo Find X is coming with 10GB RAM and was spotted by GizmoChina. At the moment, there's no word when the smartphone will be released and there's no news whether this variant will make its way to India. © GizmoChina Having said that, it is probably the first smartphone that has that amount of memory under the hood. It definitely is an overkill as things stand today, as smartphones don't really need that amount of computing power. There are other rumours that suggest that OPPO's sister brand 'Vivo' may also be including a 10GB RAM in one of their upcoming smartphones. © BCCL To put things into perspective, laptops in the markets don't offer 10GB of RAM even today. A smartphone being able to achieve this feat is not only impressive but might set a precedent for future smartphones and other gadgets. In addition, this variant of the Find X also has 256GB of internal storage, that's more than the ROM on my laptop I'm currently typing this story on. Since the 'Find X' does not support expandable storage, the extra space is definitely an upgrade. Other specifications include the same Snapdragon 845 chipset, a 6.42-inch AMOLED screen and fast charging. The smartphone also has a mechanical sliding selfie camera that pops up each time you fire up the selfie camera. Would you buy a smartphone with 10GB RAM? 16. While we're used to getting every information about a new smartphone from Android-based device launches, Apple doesn't necessarily mention every single detail about its smartphones at its events or even the website. However, Apple files details about every iPhone with government bodies like China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (TENAA). © Twitter Thanks to the filing, today we finally know what's under the hood of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. The filing was first spotted by MacRumors and thanks to their vigilant eyes, we now know exact details about the new iPhones. The iPhone XS Max has the largest battery in an iPhone ever and is outfitted with a 3,174 mAh battery, while the iPhone XS has a 2,658 mAh battery. Since the iPhone XS is a bit thicker than the other phones, it houses a slightly larger 2,942 mAh battery. When it comes to RAM, both the iPhone XS and XS Max have 4GB RAM while the XR offers 3GB RAM. © Apple According to Apple, the iPhone XR offers the best battery life amongst the three as it has a lower-resolution display and can outlast the iPhone XS Max. Here are the details (image above), according to Apple, in terms of battery backup time for each phone. © YouTube Apple now offers 4 GB of RAM for their flagship devices and is bound to make the smartphones perform faster. Android smartphones are already offering 6GB or 8GB of RAM which is probably because the Android OS demands it for optimum performance. Apple's iOS does not have the requirement for more RAM since Apple's new A12 Bionic Chip can do more with lesser power. Source: MacRumors
  17. While there are already a lot of phones out there sporting 8GB RAM, Samsung is now taking the competition to another level by introducing industry's first 10-nanometer 8GB LPDDR5 DRAM. Samsung's components business has been thriving in the past few years and the company has increased its focus on research and development. Not just RAM, but its Exynos processors have often surpassed Qualcomm's latest chipsets in terms of speed. Last year, the company also started production of high-capacity eUFS enabled 512GB flash storage for mobile phones. © Samsung While DDR5 RAM is now pretty common in high-end laptops and machines, the LP in LPDDR5 stands for low-power and is meant for mobile computing devices like a smartphone that has a very small supply of voltage available. Coming back to the new unveiling, LPDDR5 will have the peak data transfer speed of 6.4 Mb/s, which is 1.5X faster than the speed of existing LPDDR4 that goes into phones like the Galaxy S9 and OnePlus 6. © Samsung The new RAM chip is also more power efficient, Samsung says it has doubled the number of memory subdivisions within a DRAM cell from 8 to 16, churning out faster performance and lower power consumption. "Based on its industry-leading bandwidth and power efficiency, the LPDDR5 will be able to power AI and machine learning applications, and will be UHD-compatible for mobile devices worldwide," a Samsung spokesperson said. © Samsung Samsung is offering the new LPDDR5 in two variants: a version with a 6,400 megabits per second (Mbps) data rate at 1.1 volts, and a 5,500 Mbps version at 1.05 volts. Almost all high-end phones, mobile devices, and even portable PCs these days use LPDDR4X or even just LPDDR4. Samsung has also highlighted the point that LPDDR5 RAM is 1.5 times faster than the current chipsets available out there. © MensXP In fact, Samsung has also developed higher-capacity standard DDR5 chips without low-power features, as well as even faster GDDR6 chips for graphics cards. Currently, the S9 houses 4GB of RAM (LPDDR4) and going by the current trend, we won't be surprised to see the S10 house a humungous 8GB RAM chip along with 5G-ready capabilities. As of now, the RAM modules have been tested at a prototype stage and will be mass produced at its Pyeongtaek factory in South Korea.

  19. Noted Director Ram Gopal Varma has given us some absolute gems of films like 'Satya', 'Rangeela', 'Company' to name a few. But lately, he has been off his game and often pops up in the news for all the wrong reasons, including his bizarre comments on Twitter. And now the director is all ready to make his online debut with his upcoming movie 'God, *** and Truth'. Well, the name sounds quite interesting but what has created a buzz is the fact that adult actress Mia Malkova is starring in the film. 20. You know you are in for some interesting scoop, the moment you hear the name Ram Gopal Varma. If anyone tells you that he does not know who RGV is, look at him closely because that's what a liar looks like. There is no way on earth that anyone can forget or not know RGV; the man is famous for his nasty tweets more than the movies he makes. But, let's keep that discussion for some other day and focus of his directorial skills. © Twitter Ram Gopal Varma is one fine director who is known for pushing the boundaries when it comes to making good movies. After giving us movies like 'Sarkar', 'Rangeela', 'Veerappan', 'Satya' and 'Nishabd'; RGV is back in action with his upcoming project and the cast will definitely leave you spellbound. Varma has worked with none other than Mia Malkova, the popular adult film star, who has helped many boys evolve into men. © Instagram Honestly, we were surprised to an extent that we thought this can't be true, but it is and Mia has confirmed this news herself, by sharing the movie's poster on Twitter. Interestingly, the title of the movie is 'God, *** and Truth' and this poster is totally NSFW. 21. Adam's bridge or Ram-setu as it is known in India has been associated with the Ramayana, the Hindu mythological text, for as far as we can remember. While many believed that the limestone shoals which make up the bridge deposited at that particular place naturally, the Science Channel has come up with new research that blows the lid on the mystery surrounding the historic bridge. © Twitter The show on Science Channel called 'What on Earth' did some research on the stones placed to make the bridge. "The rocks on top of the sand actually pre-date the sand. So there is more to the story," an archaeologist said. According to researchers, what this actually means is that the stones did not accumulate naturally but were placed there by someone, around 7000 years ago. The bridge connects Pamban Island in Tamil Nadu to the Sri Lankan Mannar Island, which is man-made. While Hindu mythology says that the bridge was made by Lord Rama and his army of followers to reach Sri Lanka and free his wife from Ravana, many archaeologists believe that the bridge was formed when mainland Sri-Lanka broke away from the Indian sub-continent some 1, 25,000 years ago. © Twitter While the complete episode is yet to be aired, it remains to be seen how the researchers have dated the rocks to come up with this revelation.
  22. There are a lot of Indians out there that make us proud here, but their names are still not on the tongues of many Indians. Why do you ask? Many of them were at the peak of careers during the 1980s, and 1990's and that was before the internet age came into existence. Before the Internet, the world was not such a small place to be in and information did not travel at the speed which it does today. Kavitark Ram Shriram is one such Indian who was ranked 361st on the list of richest people in America -2016 with a total net worth of $1.9 billion(Rs. 12,663 crores). So, how did he amass such a big fortune? An encounter with Larry Page and Sergey Brin © Youtube/News Express One fine day, two young budding entrepreneurs — Larry Page and Sergey Brin — approached the venture capitalist Ram Shriram for funds for their garage start-up. They wern't called 'Google'yet and it was then that Ram handed over a cheque for half-a-million dollars to the two young and promising looking geeks. That brings us to another question, what was Ram doing before being an investor? In 1998, Amazon acquired an online comparison shopping firm Junglee, who Ram was the president of, for about $185 million. Ram was the vice president of the company that worked closely with the Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos. Ram was not short of money and found it wise to invest in Larry Page and Sergey Brin. We all know what heppend then. Was it just a lucky day for Ram? No, look at the string of other smart investments he made along the way. © sherpalo In 2000, Ram established Sherpalo Ventures which takes its name from the sherpas, Nepali mountaineers who guide climbers to difficult mountain peaks. Till date, Sherpalo has made over 65 investments into disruptive startups and has seen successful exits from 16 of them. InMobi, a mobile advertising company, India; Paperless Post, an online card invitation service, United States; and Gusto, an online HR service provider, United States are some of the companies that are making their mark in the tech world. Apart from that, Ram himself has made around 15 personal investments in different companies including Razorpay from India as well. His Investment philosophy and the day he refused to invest in Uber when the co-founder Garrett M. Camp approached him. © Skip MBA He looks forward to investing in people who haven't yet succeeded when they tend to be hungry and listen better. He looks for people who have thought through a problem and have built a team but not just a bunch of friends or their drinking buddies. He also believes that an entrepreneur getting along with other founders is as important as spouses getting along. He says it is that important. His is fond of investing in tech product companies. He says it is a good sign that even outsourcing companies are now also transforming themselves into software-as-a-service companies. On exits, he says, “You have to at least inflict some pain on the bigger competitor to want them to buy you” Now, this is what the scene looked like when Garrett M. Camp from Uber approached Ram who already knew each other very well. The key to development is to create products that don't just meet a consumer need but generate demand, he said. “Steve Jobs was good because he said 'I know that is what the consumer wants'.” Ram said, “He(Garrett) said I am going to buy a fleet of Lincoln Town cars and hire a bunch of drivers; I said I am not going to touch this because I am not into high capital-intensive businesses.” And that was it. We all know what Uber has achieved today is remarkable but maybe that is what Ram and Garrett believed in. His Early life in India and Silicon Valley(1980) and his struggles along the way © USCViterbi/Youtube Ram's father passed away when he was only 3 years old which made him very close to his mother and grandparents. He says even getting admission into Don Bosco school and later Loyola was itself a challenge. Ram who once thought of joining his grandfather's business later went on to do a BS from the University Madras and then MBA from the University of Michigan. Soon after his MBA, he ended up working as a software QA in engineering at the Bell Northern Research Labs of Northern Telecom. For next two years he worked as the QA in engineering but after then was shifted to marketing. His work now required him to travel the world at a very young age, many a time going to Europe or going to Japan for 3 months setting up of Japan operations and so forth. He was in his mid-20s and was not yet married so he was almost like a free spirit ready to explore the world. He started understanding how to do business with other cultures and other parts of the world. He was not always working but started a lot of new companies himself. “I was an entrepreneur many times over. I failed a couple of times; I succeeded three or four times. If you fail six or seven times, then it is better to work for a big company because it is not good for your health,” said Ram in an interview with Livemint. His love for Philanthropy © Rediff This what Ram believes in and what his love towards philanthropy shows, “After all, what is life's objective at the end of the day? You make a lot of money, you do this, you do that but then you're going to leave the world one day. What is the lasting legacy or permanent impression you want to leave behind? Life is fleeting, and permanence in this world is something we all strive for. The best way to achieve permanence is through philanthropy.”
  23. An Indian court has found a self-styled spiritual leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh guilty of raping a woman follower, The Hindu reported. The woman, a former follower, had accused Singh of repeatedly raping her inside the campus of Dera Sacha Sauda, Singh?s organisation, in Haryana in 1999. Singh and his aides have denied the allegations. Reuters reports: The Haryana government had earlier imposed a curfew in the town of Sirsa and ordered thousands of followers to home as he headed to court on Friday for a decision in a rape trial that had raised fears of mass unrest. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the head of a social welfare and spiritual group, commands a following that he claims in the millions, many of whom have been in the streets since Thursday, protesting his innocence. Singh, a burly, bearded man who has scripted and starred in his own films, is accused of raping two women followers. The town ordered an indefinite curfew to stop his followers from gathering but thousands had already left for the town of Panchkula where a court was due to give its verdict. Singh drove in a convoy of cars from his Sirsa headquarters to the court down a deserted highway, accompanied by hundreds of police. Ram Niwas, a senior government official, said mobile internet services had also been suspended in the states of Haryana and Punjab to stop people from spreading rumours and causing unrest. The army was on standby. In 2014, the attempted arrest of another guru on murder charges ended with his followers attacking police with clubs and stones. Singh denies the rape charge against him and called on his followers through a video message to remain peaceful. ?We all must respect the law and maintain peace,? he said. Indian godmen can summon thousands of supporters on to the streets at the drop of a hat. Their systems of patronage and quasi-religious sermons are hugely popular with people who consider the government has failed them. But few are as controversial as Singh. Besides the rape charges, Singh is also under investigation over allegations that he convinced 400 of his male followers to undergo castration, allegations he denies. A variety of reasons have been given for why the men agreed to castration, including promises of becoming closer to god. Singh's two films, "Messenger of God" and its sequel, include sequences in which he fights off villains and tosses burning motorbikes into the air.
  24. The newly chosen President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, is a bit of a mystery. Even though he has been a public servant for more than two decades, not much is known about him. He has been quietly but steadily working for the representation on Dalits and for education for all, and it has led him all the way to the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Here are the things you need to know about him: 1. He was born in Kanpur, UP, is the son of a Dalit farmer and comes from the koli (weaver's) community. 2. He appeared for the civil services exam, making it into the applied services section in his third attempt, but chose to do law instead, and the rest is history. © Reuters 3. He was personal secretary to Prime Minister Morarji Desai in 1978. This started his journey into the political arena, even though he has largely kept a low profile. 4. Even though he lost the Lok Sabha election from BJP in 1990, he was nominated as a Member of Parliament from UP and served for a collective 12 years. © BCCL 5. Ram Nath Kovind is the second Dalit President of India, the first being KR Narayanan. He beat another Dalit candidate Meira Kumar. 6. He has deep ties with the RSS. He donated his ancestral home in Derapur to the Sangh. © Reuters 7. He was the Governor of Bihar from 2015-2017, and maybe that's why he has the support of JDU leader Nitish Kumar as a presidential candidate. 8. He does not want you to waste time watching TV. As a parliamentarian he asked what steps were being taken to limit the number of movies being telecast because children were wasting their time doing all this. He doesn't care much for the changes in chitrahaar either, according to this article. © BCCL 9. Kovind testified, vouching for then BJP party president Bangaru Laxman, when Laxman was facing corruption charges. Laxman was found guilty, and this has cast suspicion on Kovind's testimony. 10. When leading the oath swearing ceremony, he corrected Tej Pratap (Lalu Prasad's son) twice, as he fumbled, and made him take the oath again. © Reuters
