ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsEarlier this week, Facebook and Instagram were out of commission for several hours. Facebook said the outage was a result of a server configuration change, which has now been taken care of. But for those several hours, most of the internet freaked out staring at their blank screens. A lot of people, who genuinely wanted to communicate with others, switched to alternate services like Telegram. But the rest of the people, who didn't really have any alternate medium to waste their time, headed to, wait for it, Pornhub. © Pornhub Yes, that's right. Pornhub seems to have received a lot of traffic during the Facebook and Instagram outage. The porn site reported that its traffic immediately spiked by 11 per cent and kept increasing until it hit 19-percent above the average. Additionally, Pornhub also noted that the users specifically searched for 'Instagram' and 'Facebook'. Apparently, the website registered a 323-percent spike in searches for 'Instagram' and a 221-per cent spike in searches for 'Facebook'. Looks like social media addiction is a real thing. © Twitter On a totally unrelated note (or maybe not), people were also searching for terms like 'tentacle porn' among other terms like WWE, Marvel, and Fortnite. Why would there be a spike in search for these terms when Facebook and Instagram went down? Well, that's not on us to figure out.
To say that Abhishek Bachchan isn't an actor of potent calibre, would be one of the most misjudged claims one could make. One that is expected to come from someone who isn't aware of the art and its nuances, or whose idea of “success” correlates to the amount of success AB Jr. has achieved, as compared to his father and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. That's one of the biggest follies of our generation. We are shouldering society's ruling belief that personal success must be measured in comparison to someone else's achievements and successes. This idea is flawed on so many levels, but mostly because it completely disregards the efforts and personal milestones a person clinches throughout his journey. © Colour Yellow Productions Abhishek Bachchan happens to be a victim of this stunted worldview most Indians suffer from. Because if you ask me, Abhishek brings more to his characters than the sketches put down on paper. Many of Abhishek's performances are prime examples of how one can bring their personal experiences to add depth and flavour to a character. There is a hint of gravitas in the characters that Abhishek brings to life. He is one of the few actors in the industry who you can trust to bring their personality into a character, and still make it work. His comic timing and wit need no introduction, and regardless of what we think of 'Happy New Year' as a film, there is no denying that Nandi Bhide's character was a complete star in the film and surely added to its success. © Red Chillies Entertainment More recently, Abhishek's portrayal of Robbie in 'Manmarziyan' as the soft-spoken family guy, only went on to show how he has evolved as a performer, yet the film also fails to completely utilise his potential as an actor in the film. Which brings us to 5 of Abhishek's most standout performances of all time that makes us wish we could have more directors bring out the best of AB Jr. once more in front of the camera: 1. Yuva This film earned Abhishek his first Filmfare Award and was undoubtedly Abhishek's most memorable performance. The angst and fierce drive inherent in the character of Lallan Singh made for a treat to behold and kept us glued to our screens. © Madras Talkies 2. Bunty Aur Babli Abhishek made his mark in the industry with his performance in this film, and even caught people's attention for his striking comic timing in the film. The crime-comedy brought out a different side to the actor that no one could disregard. 3. Sarkar Who can forget Abhishek as Shankar Nagre, a role that earned Abhishek another Filmfare Award for the best supporting role? His manipulative moves and honest rendition of the character put him in the limelight once more. © Madras Talkies 4. Guru This film and Abhishek's performance in the film needs no introduction. Inspired by Dhirubhai Ambani's life, the film earned him a lot of well-deserved critical acclaim. 5. Dhoom Trilogy Abhishek as ACP Jai Dixit has added a lot to the series, no matter how quick people are to set aside his role in the films. No Dhoom film would be as good without ACP Dixit in it.
