  2. With rising cases of COVID in India, hospitals are finding it hard to accommodate patients in their isolation wards. The horrific reality came forward once again when the video of a 30-year-old woman who traveled from Hazaribagh to Jharkhand capital Ranchi to admit her COVID-infected father at Sadar Hospital surfaced online. In the video that went viral, the woman narrated how she had to wait in the hospital’s parking lot for nearly half an hour before she finally got any help and by that time, her father passed away. It was heart-wrenching to see a daughter pleading for help for her father and no one was there to help her in time of need. On her way out of the hospital with her father’s body, the woman saw the health minister Banna Gupta and confronted him. She can be heard saying, “Mantri Ji, doctor doctor chillate reh gaye koi doctor nahi aaya aadhe ghante tak…yahan ka halat itna kharab hai, yahi mar gaye (papa) tadap tadap ke…khali vote lene aate hai (Mr. Minister, we were crying out loud for a doctor, kept asking for a doctor for more than half an hour, nobody came to our rescue… the condition is so bad here my father died waiting…they only come here for votes)”.
