  1. Winter is finally coming knocking on every 'GOT' fan's door ever since the first trailer dropped and left us gasping for more. From the conniving smile of Cersei, a running Arya Stark thirsty for some revenge to Khaleesi and Jon Snow's fate, the tiny teaser dropped a hint of everything yet revealed nothing! The 'GOT' makers have now released an in-depth prosthetics video which gives you a peek into how the outer mould for many characters are built, including the mighty Night King. A video was released earlier which showed a little as to how the actor gets ready for the role, but this one here, is for the nerds. The war scenes, the images of the deceased or the injured, literally everything takes months of planning for the team who ensures that the authenticity of the characters and the show is strictly maintained. The average prosthetic makeup takes 6-8 weeks to build and over hours to put on the actors later. © HBO The mightily feared Night King is portrayed by actor Vladimir Furdik who bears the entire pain of putting on all that makeup and acting with it. Well, we can not only respect the actor more after watching this video but also give him a round of applause for his unbelievable patience.
  2. In one of the worst terror attacks ever, India lost over 40 bravehearts on February 14 2019, when a JeM suicide bomber rammed his car, laden with over 350kgs of explosives into a bus carrying CRPF jawans, in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. © AP The whole nation mourned the loss and wept for the martyred jawans, but also proved to be a ray of hope for the families in this dark time. From raising funds, donating their salaries to cancelling their wedding reception to donate money; people are doing everything possible to show that they stand strong with the jawans' families. © instagram Another such moving gesture came from this Meerut groom, who paid his respect to a Pulwama martyr in an emotional and heartbreaking way. The groom, while heading to his wedding, stopped his baraat midway and got down from his horse, to salute the funeral procession of martyr Ajay Kumar. The picture was shared by Harsh Goenka, Chairman of the RPG Group, who posted the picture on social media which has since gone viral. He wrote, "Meerut's bridegroom dismounts his horse and the baraat stops to salute the funeral procession of Martyr Ajay Kumar. We too salute our martyrs. We will not let their sacrifice go waste." 3. For most of us, Republic Day has become just another holiday where we spend time with our friends and family members or just make good use of a national holiday. But, for our brave soldiers, it's an emotion that is far greater than anything else in the world. Today, a perfect example of this was showcased by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans in Ladakh. Twitter/ ITBP The jawans, who not only put their lives on the line to protect us, also fight some of the worst weather conditions on a daily basis. Yet, nothing deters them from coming forward, and in this case, show how much they love their country. #ITBP personnel celebrating #RepublicDay2019 at 18K Ft and minus 30 degree Celsius somewhere in Laddakh.#Himveers#Himalayas#HappyRepublicDay2019 pic.twitter.com/JOOBobu5ZU — ITBP (@ITBP_official) January 26, 2019 At a height of 18,000 feet and not at 0 or minus 10, but minus 30 degrees; a group of 14 ITBP jawans hoisted the Indian flag high to celebrate the Republic Day. #लदà¥à¤¦à¤¾à¤ मà¥à¤ 18 हà¤à¤¾à¤° फà¥à¤ à¤à¥ à¤à¤à¤à¤¾à¤ पर हिमवà¥à¤°à¥à¤ नॠ-30 डिà¤à¥à¤°à¥ तापमान मà¥à¤ मनाया #à¤à¤£à¤¤à¤à¤¤à¥à¤°à¤¦à¤¿à¤µà¤¸ । #RepublicDayIndia #RDayWithAIR Video: @ITBP_official pic.twitter.com/l7DIEBhDdD — à¤à¤à¤¾à¤¶à¤µà¤¾à¤£à¥ समाà¤à¤¾à¤° (@AIRNewsHindi) January 26, 2019 While one jawan held the flag high with the clear sky in the backdrop, others stood behind him in a perfect line, in the backdrop of snow-clad mountains in Ladakh. People say, "A picture is worth more than a thousand words", but this beautiful picture is an epitome of patriotism and courage. We salute their spirit.
  4. The bodybuilding scene has come a long way in India. What were once small rooms crammed with old-school equipment and shady lighting, are now multistoried world-class bodybuilding training facilities. Everything right from the flooring, machinery, ventilation and maintenance has changed. But guess what hasn't; the attitude of bodybuilding men towards the women in the gym. It is a problem that still infests even the best of the gyms. It still prevails. Women still get passively harassed and it's about time to stop it. © eletmex You Can Take A Desi-Bodybuilder Out Of A Desi-Gym, But Can't Take The 'Desi' Out Of The Bodybuilder Now the problem here is very terminal. Bodybuilding gyms in India have been for decades looked at as a place for hardcore men only. Pour in unintelligent steroid usage and what you have is a testosterone blazing cock-fest, ready to tear at the machines and sadly, the women. The thought process that 'weight training is only for men' is simply cancerous and some men, usually the 'uneducated in fitness' lot, carry this false baggage of fake masculinity. First of; just because you got huge by mindlessly using anabolic steroids, it doesn't make you an authority on weight training. Secondly, when you are huge, don't just immediately become a jerk to women and intimidate them. She'll Ask For A Spot IF She NEEDS One. Stop Looking For Opportunities To Inappropriately Touch Women. © Stack Spotting- Helping a person physically on an exercise. Countless times I have seen desi-gym trainers pointlessly spotting women clients on exercises. If you look closely, most of the times the client hasn't even asked for a spot and the intentions of the trainer are just to touch the client. Then they immediately go up to their fellow trainers and make a joke about it. Listen, if she needs a spot, she will ask for it. In fact, they are actually better off without your help. Stop F**cking Ogling! Sorry, no telling you softly here. Just stop making women conscious while they exercise. Because of this stupidity, a lot of women stop doing certain exercises and eventually, quit the gym. © Pixabay Don't ogle at her while she squats. Don't sit in a corner, with an excuse of resting and stare at her like a hungry owl. Let her do what she wants and do what you are there for. Very simple but still not understood! Stop Sneaking Out Her Number From The In & Out Logbook A lot of gyms have this old-school register where people check-in everyday with their names, time-in and phone numbers. Now some desperate clients, who are, of course, friends with the same kind of desperate trainers start sneaking out phone numbers. This cascades into creepy messages and blank calls. If this isn't stooping down to absolute low levels of shameless, I don't know what is.
  5. It's been a week since the landmark ruling, that scrapped the outdated section 377 that criminalised so many innocent people, barring them from enjoying the basic human rights. But, it's all gone now and even though it hasn't magically solved all the problems the LGBTQ community faces, it's the best step in the right direction which will make sure that change follows soon. People have been showing support way before the ruling and obviously did not stop after the historical moment. It's just the beginning and so much more support is needed, and everyone is doing just that. This all went down when the cricketer attended the inauguration of the seventh edition of the Hijra Habba in New Delhi. © Twitter The event that took place at a mall in the capital city saw a bunch of trans people come together for the annual Hijra Habba a couple of days ago. The theme was 'Born This Way' and was organised by the HIV/AIDS Alliance India. The main focus was to show solidarity among the community and empower everyone. It was also a way of educating people, that no matter what, they have the talent to do the best for the country in all the respective fields. © Twitter Couldn't agree more, tbh! What a great initiative and kudos to Gautam Gambhir for stepping up and being a part of it.
  6. Bollywood makes two kinds of movies—one that's your typical masala movie, and other that changes the way we look at and understand cinema. Director Nandita Das is one of those few directors who picks up subjects that no one would and turn it into gold. Yeah, she is immensely talented and one powerhouse of a talent. Even when she was an actor, Das picked movies that mattered and had content that described cinema in a meaningful manner. And now when she has worn a director's hat, things haven't really changed much. Content comes first and her latest film 'Manto' is one such example. We bet you have already watched the hard-hitting trailer of the movie. Nawazuddin Siddiqui as writer Saadat Hasan Manto is incredible, to say the least. From looks, posture, aura to body language and attitude, Nawaz's resemblance to the Indo-Pakistani Urdu author is uncanny. “Sawal yeh hai, jo cheez jaisi hai usse waise hi pesh kyu na kiya jaye?” the dialogue still echoes and if it wasn't for Nawaz, the trailer wouldn't have had the same effect on us. Well, at times we do know the person but the actors bring those people back to life, introducing us to them like never before. The movie takes us through the most difficult four years of Manto's life after India-Pakistan partition. The trailer digs deep into the famous author's philosophy, his perspective of looking at life and his representation of women in the stories he wrote. We witness his struggle to support his family without compromising on his philosophies and rebelliously questioning the society and its outlook. © Viacom18 Motion Pictures The filmmaker brings an extraordinary story and looks like the cast understands its importance and the essence of what value this story holds. And you would be surprised to know that Nawaz charged Re 1 for the film and Rishi Kapoor didn't even charge a penny for it. "This is the character that an actor would give an arm and leg for. But to not charge even a nominal fee is very gracious of Nawaz. Rishi Kapoor and Gurdas Maan said yes in our first meeting. I also reached out to many whom I knew well and have used up all my goodwill to get a stellar cast that truly does justice to the characters in the film," Nandita said in a statement to IANS. © Viacom18 Motion Pictures And getting Javed Akhtar was nothing less than a great addition, "I thought it would be quite interesting to have a progressive writer of today defending 'Manto'. You will see him in a new avatar. So not like Javed saab." "Trust me, there is more to life than money! The compensation comes in the form of experience and the joy of working on interesting projects. I, too, have done many such projects and have never looked for 'monetary compensation'," added Nandita. © Twitter When we hear such stories, we wish there were more actors like these who could understand the prominence and gravity of cinema. We aren't saying commercial success doesn't matter, but from time to time actors can surely give content more importance than money. Wouldn't you agree?
