ZODIAC

  1. Destruction of a large moon that strayed too close to Saturn would account both for the birth of the gas giant planet's rings and its unusual orbital tilt
  2. Traders believe market is expected to remain range-bound until announcement of federal budget 2022-23, scheduled for June 10
  3. Cumulatively, the precious commodity gained Rs100 per tola in the outgoing week
  4. After the increase of Rs4 per litre, the price of petrol will go up from the previous Rs140.82 to Rs144.82 per litre
  5. When news first broke that Marvel Studios is bringing Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings, fans were excited to see the first Asian superhero. The film has also been received well by fans who have gone on to compare it with what Black Panther was for the black community. However, for Marvel fans and those who loved Simu Liu’s Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings, there may be disappointment in store, What if we told you that Ajay Devgn donned the ten rings way before this movie happened? It's not just us but a lot of fans have also been taken aback by the similarities between Ajay’s Jigar which was released in 1992, and Simu’s Shang Chi. A YouTube channel by the name Projekt-A Music created a video mashup of Ajay Devgn’s clips from Jigar and combined it with the sounds from the trailer of Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. Sharing the video, the uploader wrote, "What if..? Shang-Chi was from our Bollywood universe. Our very own Indian Shang-Chi Ajay Devgn.” Here’s the video: Ajay appears to be performing some sort of mystical martial arts, wearing large silver rings on his arms, much like the character of Simu in Shang-Chi. It’s honestly amusing to see Ajay Devgn do all of this. Who knew he was so ahead of his time. In fact, he's almost challenging for the throne Lord Bobby graces at the moment. Anyhow, talking about Simu Liu, we exclusively got in touch with the actor about his new film. We asked him if he ever felt the burden of being the first Asian superhero. He replied, “I don’t choose to see it as a burden but an incredible opportunity. I think the world is ready for an Asian superhero and I want to show everyone how it feels to fully embrace it rather than to treat it as a burden or shy away from it. I am incredibly grateful for it and I am also hopeful that it opens doors in the future for more superhero movies like this so that many more communities could see themselves like it as they haven’t been portrayed this way. I think it’s a sign of progress.” View this post on Instagram What do you think of the uncanny resemblance between Ajay Devgn's action sequence and the ten rings of Shang Chi? 6. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has conquered the digital space completely with his strong performances. His performances are so realistic that you would be completely engrossed in his character. Not just his performances are really raw but his interviews are brutally honest too. He doesn’t mince his words and is quite vocal about his strong opinions. In an interview with Curly Tales, he was asked if he thinks destiny and luck are more important than hard work, and he was quick to deny it and said he doesn’t believe in it. Nawazuddin has struggled his way to the top and feels that actors who change their names must hate what they are called or maybe are insecure. He said, “People work like donkeys... I'm sorry, I shouldn't be saying this, but people who work without using their brains don't get very far. God has given you a brain, if you use it and work hard, then it pays off. I am still unconvinced about the importance of luck. I might change my mind later, but as of this moment, I remain unconvinced.” Asked if he believes in astrology, he added, “No, I don't believe in anything.” He also showed his arms and said, “Look, I don't have any rings or bracelets; I've never worn them." When he was asked about actors who change the spellings of their names, Nawaz said, "They must have some personal agendas, they must hate their names. I love my name, and this is the only correct way to spell it. Or maybe they're insecure." View this post on Instagram Now, this is brutally honest. Keeping his grounded persona, Nawaz has often given it back to his haters. He faced trolling after Sacred Games 2. In an interview with Pinkvilla when he was asked about the criticism that Sacred Games 2 got, he said, “Who are these people? I only take criticism from people who are of my standard. Today, every second person is there to criticize. Yes, I know the show got a little boring but these people criticizing, do they have knowledge of cinema?” He went on to add, “I can take criticism when the person has equal or more knowledge of cinema. Won't listen to any aira gaira natu gaira. Anyone criticizes today, I am a trained actor, I do not take criticism from anyone.” View this post on Instagram Nawazuddin Siddiqui most recently appeared in the Netflix productions Raat Akeli Hai and Serious Men on the professional front. He has many projects in the pipeline like Bole Chudiyan, Jogira Sara Ra Ra, Sangeen, and Heropanti 2. View the full article
  7. Veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is arguably the most skillful bowler in world cricket at the moment and the secret to his success lies in the fact that he is never satisfied with the end result and always strives to try something new. The amount of variations the off-spinner has up his arsenal makes it difficult for any batsman to pick his deliveries and Ashwin has no plans of giving any sort of respite to the English batsmen in the upcoming five-match Test series. © Instagram/Ravichandran Ashwin Despite being one of the senior-most players in the Indian cricket team, Ashwin doesn’t take his job for granted, setting a perfect example for the youngsters to follow. When most of his teammates were busy enjoying their three-week break, Ashwin finished his vacation early and decided to spend the last few days playing a county match for Surrey. It is a well known fact that an off-spinner uses his fingers to bowl different variations but not all bowlers experiment with their bowling action because it’s the most difficult thing to do for any bowler except Ashwin. Very admirable and proactive of Ravi Ashwin to take up the opportunity of a game for @surreycricket & snuff a 6 wkt haul. Locked in a nice battle with Jack Leach at the Oval. Nice Test Summer ahead. — Ian Raphael Bishop (@irbishi) July 14, 2021 When he turned up for Surrey, all eyes were on him and even he knew that the opposition batsmen would be watching him. With not much help from the pitch, things didn’t go his way in the first innings and all he could manage was one wicket. In the second innings, he wreaked havoc and ran through Somerset’s batting line-up picking up six wickets and rang a bell or two in the opposition camp ahead of the series. Watch all six wickets for @ashwinravi99 at The Kia Oval this morning, as Somerset were bowled out for just 69. @DelhiCapitals @BCCI pic.twitter.com/4ybYW4dAno — Surrey Cricket (@surreycricket) July 14, 2021 While most fans marvelled at the end result, not many observed that Ashwin had made a slight change in his bowling action, bringing his right arm over right shoulder before releasing the ball. Playing on spin-friendly tracks in India, Ashwin didn’t load up in the same manner and it clearly suggests that he has made this slight adjustment with the England series in mind. Meanwhile after making 420 in the first innings Somerset have been bowled by Surrey for 69 in the 2nd innings with Ashwin getting 6-27. Not a bad way to get ready for some test matches! — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) July 14, 2021 The last time India won a Test series on English soil was way back in 2007 under Rahul Dravid’s leadership. If the Virat Kohli-led side plays to its full potential, they have a realistic chance of beating England and they are totally aware of that. The series becomes all the more important because it marks the beginning of the second edition of the World Test Championship, hence would like to start their fresh campaign on a winning note. It is Ashwin's attitude and work ethic which has made him such a fantastic bowler for India. Match figure of 7/126 was just a bonus. Getting 58 overs to bowl in a first class game ahead of a very important series is a great sign. @ashwinravi99 — R P Singh रुद्र प्रताप सिंह (@rpsingh) July 14, 2021 It remains to be seen if Ashwin’s tweaked bowling action could be the game-changer or not but one thing is for sure that it has definitely created some doubts in the minds of the opposition players... and for us it's already a win.
