  2. The Indian Premier League (IPL) unveiled the new format for the 2022 edition of the tournament on Friday, which would see the ten teams split into two virtual groups for a total of 70 league matches. Mumbai Indians, the five-time IPL champions are in Group A (one of out of the two groups that have been implemented this season). MI are joined by the Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants in the same group. teams to qualify for the playoffs new teams exciting, new format #TATAIPL2022, here we come #SaddaPunjab #PunjabKings pic.twitter.com/G8eKSoMJWl — Punjab Kings (@PunjabKingsIPL) February 25, 2022 Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra described it as the more difficult of the two groups and conceded that Mumbai would be unhappy with the structure in which each team will be played in the IPL 2022. According to the revised regulations, each team will play its group members twice and the team in the same row as the other group once, while only playing the other four teams once. As a result, Mumbai will face Chennai Super Kings twice and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans once each. In a new format for the IPL, the 10 teams have been divided into two "virtual" groups for the league phase Here's how it will work: https://t.co/nnjZbUSQCL pic.twitter.com/qk94wc9Fv7 — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) February 25, 2022 Aakash shared his ideas on his YouTube channel, predicting that Mumbai will face the harder squads twice during the league round and the lesser teams once. MI will face Kolkata, Rajasthan, DC, and Lucknow twice. In addition, they will face CSK twice. All of the strong teams will be played twice, however, the Sunrisers, RCB, Punjab, and Gujarat Titans will only be played once. This according to Chopra, will upset skipper Rohit Sharma and his teammates a bit. The former India opener also stated that he prefers the model to the one employed by the Indian T20 league over the one that is commonly used by the International Cricket Council (ICC) during World Cup competitions, in which the top teams from each group advance to the knockout stages. Teams will be playing in the format of 7 home and 7 away games in IPL 2022. — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) February 25, 2022 It's hardly a guarantee that the theoretically best teams from each group will make the playoffs in this scenario. Because each club will play each other at least once, the top four will be determined by the points earned in all 14 matches. The IPL 2022 will take place in Maharashtra, with three venues in Mumbai and one in Pune, starting on March 26. View the full article
  3. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the most expensive franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history, spent money like water during the two-day IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru. The Lucknow-based franchise was the only team out of all 10 who were left with zero cash in their purse after the conclusion of the two-day auction. Led by former India opening batter Gautam Gambhir, who was appointed as the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants, at the auction table, Lucknow went shopping for all-rounders and they got plenty of them in their squad. The likes of Marcus Stoinis and Jason Holder will be supported by Indian all-rounders like Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya. The Super Giants have assembled. Krunal was the captain of Baroda when Hooda opted out of the team during a domestic tournament, citing ill-treatment from the 30-year-old. "You don't need to be best friends to perform, you need to be better professionals to perform. In my career, not everyone was my best friend. When I captained the side for seven years, it was not like I was close to everyone. But those three hours as a combined group what result we could deliver for the franchise is what matters as a professional. Krunal Pandya is a professional, Deepak Hooda is a professional, if you deliver for the team with your bat or ball, that is what matters in the end. There's no conflict in the world that can't be sorted. If you give them the right environment, the right space, I am sure they'll deliver for the franchise," Gambhir said during an interaction on Sports Tak. After listening to Gambhir's explanation, fans reminded the former Kolkata Knight Riders captain to look in the mirror before making such remarks. Looking at the squad that Lucknow has managed to build in the auction, they look like contenders for the title in their debut season. View the full article

  5. Although he may be somewhat of a style renegade, Sunil Grover knows when and how to drop some dope-looking style bombs here and there. © Instagram/whosunilgrover The thing is, that although most of us choose to ignore them, actors who work in the television industry, often have a better understanding of style and fashion, especially when we compare them to the folks over in Bollywood. Sunil Grover is actually a perfect example of that. © Instagram/whosunilgrover The man was recently spotted at the Mumbai Airport, wearing a very basic, but seriously dope-looking outfit. In fact, we will go as far as to say that whenever someone’s flying or travelling to the airport, this is the sort of clothes that they should be wearing. © Viral Bhayani Sunil was seen wearing a rather extra long white coloured T-shirt, and a dapper-looking oversized shirt, which was worn as a shacket. He was also wearing a pair of matching jeans, and a dope looking pair of black coloured flat sneakers. © Viral Bhayani Now, we have seen people embrace long T-shirts before, but in this manner. Sunil Grover seriously looks dapper. As far as street style is concerned, this is noteworthy. However, pairing such a T-shirt with a grey denim shirt, and using it as a jacket, or rather, a ‘shacket’ is a very risky move, style-wise. © Viral Bhayani Nonetheless, for Sunil, it pays off rather well. He legit looks like a proper, hip-hop artist, a rapper, sans the bling. If you’re wondering where he got the shacket from, it is a piece from Superdry, a UK based athleisure apparel maker. The shacket that Sunil’s wearing retail for about Rs 4,000, but it is often on a discount at most e-commerce platforms. © Viral Bhayani We also like how he’s being extra careful about his surroundings, and how he has gone for a proper, acetate face shield, on top of a mask. We also like the very basic looking black sneakers. They add to the quasi-technical vibe that the rest of Sunil’s outfit gives. © Viral Bhayani All in all, that’s actually a pretty dope outfit. Barring the cap, if he had added a few more accessories, such as a watch, or a bracelet, the entire look would have been more elevated, and a new character would have been added to it. © Viral Bhayani Just as it is though, Sunil’s looking super dapper. A job well done, indeed. View the full article
  6. China has made it to the headlines once again but this time for a totally bizarre reason. It has now come up with a unique recommendation for cabin crew. According to a Bloomberg report, the aviation regulator has advised cabin crew on charter flights to high-risk COVID routes to wear disposable diapers. Yes, you read that right! View the full article
  7. The much awaited trailer of ‘A Gentleman' starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez finally dropped today. Sidharth looks quite entertaining in a double role of the ‘susheel' Gaurav and the risky Rishi. © YouTube One of them is a sensible, mundane man stuck in a sorted corporate life, while the other is a wanted bad guy who plays with guns. Amidst all of this is a woman with a great body but negative acting skills, Jacqueline Fernandez. © YouTube The trailer looks entertaining and this action-comedy movie looks like the ‘paisa vasool' type. The baddie in the scenario is being played by Suniel Shetty who, going by his recent pictures, is ageing in reverse. The movie is scheduled to release on 25th August.
