  1. Every actor aspires to make it big in the film industry, however, not everyone can live up to its glitz and glamour. While some have already made their presence felt, others are still trying their level best to make a mark. There are several big Bollywood celebrities who almost considered quitting acting for different reasons. From Shah Rukh Khan to Katrina Kaif, take a look at the list of popular Bollywood stars who almost decided to leave the industry below. Aamir Khan View this post on Instagram In an interview, recently, Aamir revealed that he almost quit Bollywood after realising that he didn't spend enough time with his kids and family for so many years. Revealing the same, the Dangal star said, "I feel like I've spent my life chasing my dreams and trying to fulfill them. But during this journey, I didn’t pay attention to my loved ones. My parents, my siblings, my children, my first wife Reena, my second wife Kiran, their parents… Perhaps I couldn’t devote enough time to them". Katrina Kaif View this post on Instagram After entering Bollywood with Kaizad Gustad's flop film Boom in 2003, Katrina worked very hard to establish herself among the most successful actresses. Namastey London (2007), co-starring Akshay Kumar, proved to be a turning point in her career. However, she almost decided to leave acting after watching the film. Interestingly, Katrina saw too much of herself in Namastey London and thought that it'll turn out to be a huge disaster. "I was like, 'I am packing my bags and I am going to find a new career'," she stated. Shah Rukh Khan View this post on InstagramSRK too had once decided to leave acting because he thought he was not good-looking after watching his film Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, back in 1992. Like seriously? Revealing the same, he stated, "When I saw myself for the first time on screen, this was for the rushes. Rushes are dailies. You shoot the scenes and you see the negatives. That was the time when we had negatives. So, I was looking at Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman rushes in RK Studio. And I realised I am so ugly". However, later, Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza convinced him that the "final would be better". Hrithik Roshan View this post on Instagram Hrithik Roshan's career began with the successful film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. However, he was on the verge of quitting acting due to a severe knee injury. Talking about his decision, he stated, "I worked on ‘Kites’ only for seven months. Before that, I was trying to treat my knee. For six months there was no sign of recovering from my knee pain. That time I thought either I will turn to singing or direct a film". Well, we're glad that they changed their decision. What about you? Share your views in the comment section below. 2. Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel made their acting debut with the 2000 blockbuster Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai helmed by Rakesh Roshan. However, a lesser-known fact is that the initial choice for Ameesha Patel’s role in the film was actually Kareena Kapoor. In fact, the actress was supposed to make her debut with the Hrithik Roshan starrer instead of JP Dutta’s Refugee with Abhishek Bachchan. That’s not all, she had also filmed for a few scenes before Ameesha replaced her. © Twitter Interestingly, there is a long shot in the film that actually features Kareena and not Ameesha. After Ameesha had come on board as the lead actress there were reports that Kareena decided to opt-out because Rakesh Roshan didn’t give her full narration of the script among other reasons. Later, in an interview, Rakesh Roshan had revealed that it was his decision to replace Kareena with Ameesha and the reason was the constant interference of her mother Babita. Talking about it in an interview with The Quint back in 2020, Rakesh stated that they were supposed to start with a song and a set was built at Filmistan Studio. However, four days before the shooting, Babita contacted Rakesh Roshan and asked him to start with the talkie portion first and shoot the song at a later date. He said, “Kareena's mother Babita, who I have a lot of respect for, said, ‘Don't begin with a song, she's not ready. Start with dialogues.' I said, ‘No Babita, I think a song is better because she'll be very familiar to the whole unit. It'll be much easier. To say dialogue and to act is a little more difficult than to lip-sync to a song. Of course, we will train her.'” © Retro Bollywood He continued, “Babita was a little adamant about it. So I said, ‘This way I cannot work because tomorrow you might say, don't do this, don't do that. I think it's better we part ways because we are good friends.' So we parted ways.” Back in 1998 for an interview with G Magazine, Rakesh had further elaborated on what went wrong between him and Babita that led to Kareena’s ouster from the film. He had stated then, “It was I who decided to drop her and not the other way round. I can say a lot of things, but don't want to because she's the daughter of my good friend Randhir. Considering Babita has been an actress herself, she should have been professional. "It's untrue that narration was not given to her. I never sign an artist without a full narration and if she's the heroine of my film, even more so. A complete narration was made three months ago. I wish Babita would not interfere in her daughter's career, for she's harming her more than helping her. Kareena is a newcomer and should be treated like one. She cannot call the shots, just because she's Karisma's sister. In that case, Hrithik can behave like Rakesh Roshan too. Babita demanded that her daughter be given higher billing to my son. How can I do that? I would have done it if Karisma was the heroine. The hero always gets the top billing, particularly when it's a home production. "Amidst all this tension, I had to leave for Athens to finalise a ship we needed for the shooting. I told them to think over the decision and tell me the answer when I return. When I got back, there was no response. By then I was tired, so I decided that it was best that we parted ways.” View this post on Instagram © Filmkraft Productions Released on January 14, 2000, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai turned out to be a huge blockbuster while Kareena Kapoor’s debut film Refugee, that released on June 30, 2000, made a record-breaking opening but eventually failed at the box office. 3. It's no secret that Rekha and Hrithik Roshan share a strong relationship with each other. Rekha played Hrithik's mother in a few films which strengthened their bond. They always meet each other warmly and Rekha has always been vocal about her equation with Hrithik. However, did you know that they once had an unpleasant moment while exchanging pleasantries at an award ceremony? View this post on Instagram For the unversed, both Rekha and Hrithik were caught in an embarrassing kiss during an award ceremony. It so happened when both of them crossed paths at the event and were happy to see each other. The duo was almost caught in a lip-lock as they came closer to welcome each other. Rekha hugged Hrithik as usual and kissed him under the lips rather than on the forehead. Despite the fact that the actress kissed him under the lips, the camera angles made it appear as if they were ready to lock lips. Their awkward moment was captured on camera, and it caused quite a stir on social media. Various pictures of their accidental kiss went viral on social media leaving everyone shocked. View this post on Instagram As soon as the pictures were shared on the internet, both the actors were trolled. Fans, who loved their pure mother-son bonding in films, were extremely disappointed. Well, the moment must have been very embarrassing for Hrithik and Rekha too. For me, it's going to be the most awkward celebrity moment. pic.twitter.com/CJLmD1OLqW — Rohit Rathi (@RohitRa88491776) March 3, 2022 For the unversed, Hrithik and Rekha have worked together in hits like Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish. The evergreen actress played Hrithik’s mother in Koi Mil Gaya which was released in 2003. While in Krrish (2006), she essayed the role of his grandmother. On the career front, Rekha last played a full-fledged role in Super Nani (2014) and is currently away from films. Hrithik, on the other hand, will next be seen in the official Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha. He is playing a gangster in the much-awaited film co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte. He has also signed Siddharth Anand's Fighter alongside Deepika Padukone. View the full article
  4. Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor has been around in Bollywood for quite some time now. The actor made his debut way back in 2003 with the film Ken Ghosh's Ishq Vishk along with Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasury. © Netflix The movie was an instant hit and couldn't have been a better launchpad for Shahid, who really stamped his authority in the movies he did throughout the rest of his career. Now, while Shahid even won a bunch of awards for his Bollywood debut for the film including a Filmfare, Stardust, IIFA, and Zee Cine one, there was another actor who thrilled audiences that particular year. The star was none other than super-successful Vikram Vedha actor, Hrithik Roshan, who starred in the sci-fi Bollywood drama Koi… Mil Gaya. © Zee5 As you can remember, Koi… Mil Gaya was one of the biggest hits of the year with Hrithik and Preity Zinta's performances really connecting with the audiences, with the movie even going on to become the Krrish franchise. Moreover, the movie, which was said to be an adaptation to the Hollywood film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, showed Hrithik's tremendous acting ability on the screen. With so many movie-goers loving the movie, Shahid himself went on to watch the film of his Bollywood colleague and he had a very interesting story to tell after watching it. In 2014, Shahid appeared for an interview and opened up on how he found the movie and how he looked up to Hrithik as an actor. © Twitter Shahid, who met Hrithik during the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards press meet in 2004, revealed how he had been riding high on the success of Ishq Vishk when he went on and watched Hrithik's blockbuster film. The actor revealed how he felt depressed after watching the movie. Don't worry, it's not because he didn't like the film but for some other reason altogether. “I remember I had just got myself a sports bike. It wasn’t your first film, it was Koi Mil Gaya. That was the film I saw. I had just debuted and I came on the bike. I kept thinking I am damn cool and just (made my) debut man. But then I saw the film and left in a rickshaw because I felt so depressed about myself as an actor.” Wow! Now, imagine a compliment to Hrithik better than this. On the work front, Shahid will be seen in his upcoming film Jersey alongside Mrunal Thakur. Source: Koimoi View the full article
