  1. Before we tell you why Google Wi-Fi is perfect for Indian homes, it would be fair to tell you that I bought Google's mesh router system for my personal use. Since this product was bought, it would be fair to tell you my opinion rather than writing an official review. I moved into a new home recently and I've always faced the issue of Wi-Fi coverage in my home. Indian homes are usually made of concrete thick walls that prevent the Wi-Fi signal from reaching all corners of the house. I recently got myself a gigabit connection and I needed a Wi-Fi system that would reach the far end of my house. The home I'm currently living in is 2,100 square feet and required a mesh router setup. © Google Today, traditional routers cannot deliver enough coverage and range extenders are often not reliable. Mesh routers are now taking over and I invested in getting myself a three-pack Google Wi-Fi. It costs less than Netgear's Orbi and delivers an experience that you would expect from a mesh router. After using Google's Wifi, I don't think I'll ever switch to a traditional Wifi again. It's Easy To Setup © MensXP Setting up the Google Wifi was probably the easiest thing we've encountered and it was even easier to set up the access points. Assuming you already have an internet connection, you can connect one of the Google Wifi points to your modem/router with an ethernet cable and it will automatically start broadcasting. You will need to download the free Google Wifi app on your iPhone or Android device to proceed further. The App will now let you configure your Wi-Fi network by simply scanning the QR code at the bottom of the Wifi point. You can then name your network and set a password. Once you are done with the procedure you can simply repeat the process of scanning the QR Code for installing additional points. It literally takes seconds for the Google Wifi to recognise additional Wifi Points. © MensXP Now that you're all set-up, you can use the Google Wifi app for additional features such as setting up a guest Wi-fi, test speeds, track the mesh network's health or monitor your network in general. The app has an inbuilt speed testing feature which means you don't need to use third-party apps to test your speed. How Did It Perform © Google Since I have a gigabit internet connection in my home, Google Wifi was able to optimise speed to the maximum even when we were far away from the nearest WiFi point. We were able to stream 4K movies on Netflix in three separate rooms at the same time without facing any buffer period. It was able to automatically prioritise traffic and distribute crucial bandwidth without any issues. Google Wifi is all about providing you with coverage, the speed of your internet depends on your plan or your ISP. Here is a screenshot of the speed I was getting 20 feet away from the nearest Google Wifi point: © MensXP Why Google Should Get It To India Currently, Google does not sell 'Google Wifi' in India officially as I purchased mine from the United States during my travels. The Google Wifi is reasonably priced and is the only affordable option when taking its competition into consideration. Google offers more units, is easy to setup and performs well. It's everything the Indian market and homes needs and with Google Home now available in India, it would be a perfect addition to the ecosystem. Indian homes, in general, have thicker walls than the west and in order to combat the problem of connectivity, Google Wifi is the only affordable answer right now.
